Re: (The Merge) Gargoyles: Defenders of the Night - Recruiting

Another interesting alternate setting, consider the Cathedral of Learning in Pittsburgh. It's relatively new, 1926, but I could see the possibility of Klauder having gone the direction of importing gargoyles to make the building a bit more toward the Gothic side than the Modern side, maybe to contra...

Re: Thread Count/ Games List

Sakura is recruiting for a low level MnM game based on World of Darkness Hunters Hunted theme. I have an interest thread up for an MnM Gargoyles game. (Sorry, posting links thru my phone is a pain.) As always, feel free to PM me with game updates. ---- Gargoyles: Defenders of the Night , In the Sha...

What's the state of this one?
I'm taking this off the list. I think we lost Bombshell.

Re: Con of Champions May 23-25

Can someone give me the TL:DR version? The company named Tabletop.events makes their money by organizing convention events. Not only do they not have any income coming up, since all of the conventions are getting canceled, but also they're having to refund money they already received, which puts th...

Isn't chibi-usa also rediculously old despite looking and acting like a child? I think she's stated to be like 900 or something.
It's a trope.

Re: Power Talk: Discussing the Effectiveness of Effects

Interesting topic, my mnm4 starting point doubling all the costs and then adjusting the powers so their costs can fall "in the cracks". Strength would cost 4 ppr but would Dexterity? No, probably only 3 ppr. Presence could be potentially just be 2 ppr to encourage flamboyance. (Let's not debate thi...

Re: How to handle Wide Arrays in 3E

The chief complaint I could see people making is allowing a semi-dynamic setup where a non-dynamic (but wide) array can be using more than one power in it. Which, I don't think is necessarily a horrible thing. You still can't adjust ranks, so you don't get the flexibility of Dynamic, plus it means y...

Re: J-Mart: Workin' on the store...Testing Spidey/Sportsmaster

There was an arc later in Slott's run where he lost his Spider Sense and he trained with Danny Rand and Shang-Chi for a bit to hone his fighting skills to make up for it as he realized how much he depended on it. I wish they had continued with it because Shang basically echoed your thoughts about h...

Re: Number of superhumans in your worlds

Semi-parallel to this, it is worth considering what effect distribution will have, which can be heavily influenced by what drives super-powers. If it's strictly a matter of percentage per populace, you'd expect China and India to be sporting the largest numbers of supers, followed by the United Stat...

Re: Jab’s Builds! (Kate Bishop! The Young Masters! Eternal Champions!)

I remember playing it with my friends. One of the options for playing removed the super-meter and which totally broke the system since Shadow had an "attack while invulnerable" super ability. We also did all of the Overkills, which required doing a particular attack at a specific location, sometimes...

Re: Trade-Off Limits and Toughness-Defense Shifts

Also, there are several free ways to disrupt defense, from Perception to Feinting to Surprise Attacks (and they can halve or eliminate defense entirely!), but no easy way to reduce resistances. And, of course, 20s auto-hit, and crit at that, 1 in 20 times, the defense-shifted person is really hurting.

She managed to reprogram a robot to be more racist, so I guess she's got some Tech skill.
Wait, what?
She modified Egghead's parameters, somehow, to make him less tolerant of non-White races.

Re: Trade-Off Limits and Toughness-Defense Shifts

Tradeoffs are arithmetically relative. If all of the supers in your setting tend to be damage/toughness shifted, the effect will be very similar to if they are not shifted. A damage shift of 3 against a toughness shift of 3 is mechanically the same as a balanced PL character hitting a balanced PL. I...

Re: Jab’s Builds! (Salem's Seven! Wiccan! Hulkling! Iron Lad!)

Yeah, I've never been a fan of Kang personally. Though I did think Iron Lad' s connection to him was interesting as a "teenaged rebellion" angle. I do also enjoy that trope of the person with access to time travel going down a slippery slope of preventing a "bad" future. You start out going back an...
