Re: Star Wars: Scavengers (SciFi Horror, 3E, Building the Party)

Actually the original concept was cyborg engineer, but while we've been spit-balling concept, crew skills, and mechanics, the concept has changed. I wanted to step away from the idea of the emotionally repressed cyborg, if only because of the feel of the genre. My eyes kind of glossed over the skill...

Re: Star Wars: Scavengers (SciFi Horror, 3E, Building the Party)

I kind of like the idea that we all worked under a previous captain, who passed away perhaps, so the crew stuck together, nominally under the captaincy of their old second in command. The ship is still owned by whatever salvage conglomerate, but we are a tight knit, dysfunctional family of sorts. I'...

Re: Star Wars: Scavengers (SciFi Horror, 3E, Building the Party)

ZG said Sci-fi themed super heroic game. Is this a super-heroic game? Horror and superheroes don't really mix. I was thinking this was just sci-fi horror. Nothing superheroic about it. I meant that in reference to PL 8's in a horror game seem oddly competant and lack the fear that an everyman world...

Re: Star Wars: Scavengers (SciFi Horror, 3E, Building the Party)

I 100% agree with the above, I love the limitation of PL to 6, and a cap on attributes so it doesn't feel like a sci-fi themed super heroic game. I would further ask that we try to cap most skills at +10 or +11 in your specialty, being able to overcome a challenging roll (DC 20) with skill mastery o...

Re: Star Wars: Scavengers (SciFi Horror, 3E, Building the Party)

I'll work on a rough build, I'll likely be using the full 120 pp for my character. Thinking I'll be a slicer/engineer with enough combat skills to provide cover fire when the heat comes down. Concerning starship combat, is there a plan in place to mitigate the fact the pilot typically dies everythin...

Re: Star Wars: Scavengers (SciFi Horror, Interest?)

I feel a character who is so afraid of strong emotion that he undergoes a cybernetic procedure that inhibits his ability to feel powerful emotions is a character that would be interesting to explore in a situation of intense psychological stress. I'm mote than willing to take complications that allo...

Re: Star Wars: Scavengers (SciFi Horror, Interest?)

I am already thinking of a survivor of some Empire purge while looking for Rebel cells, that, fuelled by anger and violence, saved and subjected himself to the cybernetic upgrade Aj^6. Think Lobot from Bespin, which noticeably reduces the cyborg's emotional responses, thereby quelling his anger towa...

Re: Star Wars: Scavengers (SciFi Horror, Interest?)

Having finished binge watching the Expanse, and with a deep seated love of the Star Wars universe, this is something I could really get behind. PL8 to me, still sounds fairly combat effective, 6 or 7 might be more in fitting with a survival, horror, genre, and the lack of PP's could mean that skills...

Re: [OOC...MnM 3e] Civitas Crew (Recruiting until 1/23- 5 days)

As an FYI, it's been a pretty hectic week in the office and at home, however, things are returning to normal. That does mean my intention to have the Atlantean complete a few days ago have fallen through, I will have time to complete my submission, but it likely won't be until this evening by 7 or 8...

Re: [OOC...MnM 3e] Civitas Crew (Recruiting until 1/23- 5 days)

A little busy at the office this weekend, but I will be submitting a Paragon as well. The spirit of a pre-cataclysm Atlantean King possessing the body of a PVS Olympic hopeful, recently escaped from an Astral Prison created by Malador the Mystic. I will just edit the build, background & complica...

Re: [OOC] Civitas Crew (Interest check)

I think it might be fun to play a group of heroes just coming into their own, maybe even Claremont graduates or something along those lines. A UNISON attache would be interesting, and give the group of heroes a connection to the politics of heroing and murky government objectives.

Re: [OOC] Civitas Crew (Interest check)

I'd be interested in something set in the Freedom-verse, some four-color heroics are always fun!

Re: The Dirty (M&M2e Recruiting)

That's fair, and it isn't my game. So carry on ... that being said it's been a long week working on implementing some new policies & procedures at work so getting my own build up may still be a day or two.

Re: The Dirty (M&M2e Recruiting)

As a reminder Impervious in 2e is not halved, Impervious 12 on a PL8 character makes Manticore functionally immune to any Toughness based attack of 12 or below.

That's huge for a street level game, as he'd be shrugging off all conventional weaponry up to anti-tank missiles without making a check.

Re: The Dirty (M&M2e Recruiting)

Working on a mash up between Marvel's Hobgoblin & Gaimen's Sandman, however I am at the office, so I will not have a build up until later on this evening.
