That’s okay, like I told Ares, you’re allowed to be wrong. :D Truthfully, I just enjoy Macross Plus too much to see it missing from the continuity. IMHO, it’s not only the best entry in the Macross franchise, it might be one of the best anime OVAs ever produced. ... and then you find yourself playi...

Re: Macyn's Golden Gloves Gym(or,Intresting ways to Characterize fighting styles!)

The most common mistake is that cinematic swordsmen tend to “chase the blade,” swinging at their opponent’s weapon instead of at their opponent, oftentimes their opponent will politely hold their weapon in a way that makes easier to hit. Then they take turns! I hit your sword, you hit my sword, I h...

Re: Macyn's Golden Gloves Gym(or,Intresting ways to Characterize fighting styles!)

As much as I love those movies, the swordplay in both is pretty bad. Pirate halves and Flynning make up most of the repertoires of all the fighters... Elwes and Patinkin are so damn charismatic that combined with the hilarious (and accurate) dialogue and the clever choreography, it’s really easy to...

Re: J-Mart: Chitauri, Outriders

It takes stones the size of Mogo and Ego the Living Planet to attack Black Bolt when he’s sleeping. If the dude so much as gasps in surprise, he’s going to break your spine. If he’s posture gets disturbed and he starts to snore, he’s going to reduce you to salsa... and not the good chunky kind you ...

Re: BriarThrone Reviews: The Last Jedi (SPOILERS)

As bad as the Last Jedi was, it'll take more than that to destroy my love for the franchise. Anytime I need a reminder of why I love Star Wars I can pop in the original trilogy, Rogue One, my audio-book of the Thrawn Trilogy, the Clone Wars cartoon, REBELS, and even to a lesser extent the Prequels....

Re: Warhammer 40,000 (Sternguard)

There’s essentially five “levels” of Space Marine: Neophytes who have been selected for training. Standard doctrine is to use them as Scouts, but Chapterslike the Black Templars and Space Wolves do things differently. Initiates who are full Battle Brothers, these are your standard Space Marines. Th...

Re: BriarThrone Reviews: The Last Jedi (SPOILERS)

As I said a few days after the movie came out, as I gain more distance from the movie, the less I am swayed by the spectacle and the more I see the holes. Ark's post is pure truth. It is at this point that I should make a new thread to review Solo: A Star Wars Story. Unfortunately, to do that, I wo...

Re: Warhammer 40,000

That would be the Imperial Infantryman’s Uplifting Primer of which you speak? Of course I have a copy! It’s a requirement. Any Imperial Guardsman found without one is subject to punishment at the discretion of their Regimental Commissar. Sorry, I don't usually take orders from target dummies. WH40k...

Re: BriarThrone Reviews: The Last Jedi (SPOILERS)

I was never a fan of Star Wars, honestly, I mean I like laserswords and spaceships as much as any nerd... But, even as a little kid, I could see how hackneyed and phoned in the stories were. Star Wars was just a farm boy rescuing a princess from the black knight’s tower, with help from the smug-but...

Re: Warhammer 40,000

I get you. Statting out the story world, more than the game the story world is initially based on. Albeit, within limits. The “story world” of WH40k is usually presented in the form of “in universe” documents and the like. Say you get a copy of a supplemental rulebook like Codex: Green Marines , it...

Re: Jab's Builds! (Genis-Vell! Phalanx! Wolverine!)

Or this could have been in that odd period post-solo title and pre- Excalibur where he was off wandering the multiverse. Nope, at the time Brian was alive and on planet with the rest of Excalibur. Didn't he think she was dead along with the rest of the "outbackers" due to what happened in...

Re: Jab's Builds! (Genis-Vell! Phalanx! Wolverine!)

I’m kind of shaky on my knowledge of Marvel’s exact lineup titles in this period... Was Brian on the planet (or even in the Earth-616 dimension) when the whole thing went down? I'm not sure myself. It was the early 90s, so he might have been with Excalibur on any number of otherworldly adventures. ...

Because, the Batman doesn’t kill. That’s his sole justification. That’s it. Bruce doesn’t make a utilitarian argument or a Judeao-Christian theological argument or any other philosophical argument... He doesn’t kill. Full stop. Period. End of line. Do not pass go, do not collect $200. My personal t...
