[Earth-G]Steiner, the Many-Winged Devil

Infamous Starbon:
Steiner, the Many-Winged Devil:
Crunch writeup: Here ye go!
PL9/149pp. Most Starborn are not hideous, but neither are they beautiful. Some, however, are strange, which is exactly the case with a Germanic Starborn known only as Steiner. Steiner is hunted aggressively by the Lutheran "Church" (such as it is), as he is a great danger to the Protestant movement. You see, even though Rome has condemned Steiner and seek the man's death, Steiner himself is the bane of Protestantism. Steiner fights on behalf of the very organization that seeks ha death, the Roman Catholic Church.

Steiner is winged, albeit mothlike rather than birdlike. His body and head are vestigial, absorbed halfway into the massive, shimmering wings that now take up 75% of his body. Steiner no longer walks, instead flying or floating wherever he goes. The Many-Winged Devil is aptly named, for his "wings" are actually vast numbers of lesser, smaller wings and some are subsidiary organisms acting as wing-extensions. At will, these wings can act as shield enough to turn aside both sword, arrow and flame.

Though Catholicism makes no bones about how it views Steiner, Steiner was raised staunchly Catholic. Steiner believes, with perfect faith, that his damnation is the will of God. He further absolutely believes Hell awaits him after death. But Steiner also believes he was given this horrid fate, to sacrifice his own salvation that Protestant "heretics" be shown either the light...or death.

And so Steiner stays perpetually one step ahead of both Catholics and Lutherans, exterminating one on the behalf of the other.....
Steiner, the Many-Winged Devil wrote:"I am damned, yet still I do His work...!"
A guy like Steiner is cognitive dissonance, personified!

[Multiverse-wide]nephilim

What are nephilim?
Nephilim are the hybrid offspring of either a thoughtform and a mundane human, a thoughtform and a thought-turned-human or a thoughtform-turned-human and a mundane mundane. In the grand scheme of things, Nephilim are rather rare, and're often mistaken for more prevalent 'species' of superhumans. Placeholder.

Are there alien nephilim?
Sure! Though alien nephilim are vanishingly rare; in some realities, alien nephilim just don't exist AT ALL. Placeholder.

What powers/unusual abilities do nephilim possess?
Nephilim are heavy and tall, though most are muscular and not obese. Beyond this, however, nephilim can conceivably have any possible in the Forever Tree, depending mostly on their individual heritages. Physical abilities tend to predominate, however, though the Shapeshift power, itself, is not very common. Placeholder.

Are nephilim immortal?
Some are; most are not. Again, this depends heavily on a nephilim's individual heritage. Placeholder.

Is it possible for regular superbeings to have hybrid nephilim/superhuman babies?
Yes, but they're very rare, very rare, indeed. These are known as 'elohim', and are usually exceptionally powerful superhumans. Placeholder.

Are any imperiex also nephilim?
Yes; two imperiex are also nephilim. These, also, are referred to as 'elohim'. Placeholder.

How do thoughtforms treat these 'halfkin'?
On average, 'Very poorly'. Thoughtforms have a fascination with identity and purpose, but their own innately protean essence prevents them from seeking out anything truly stable---such as siring offspring.

On Earth-C, however, things are VERY different. Due to the influence of the Pillars of Ba and Ka, Earth-C's thoughtforms feel 'compelled' to produce nephilim offspring. As a result, Earth-C has THE largest nephilim population in the entire Forever Tree.

Do nephilim go to the Primordial Deep when they die?
Yes. Just like everyone else. Ferrymen show nephilim no special deference or respect: to the Ferrymen, a soul is a soul is a soul and what one was in their living days is irrelevant.

[Earth-L]Ogres

Earth-L (part 1 of 2): A dissertation on Ogres.
What are Ogres? Ogreorbitals? Ogreleviathans? Ogresails? Ogrestructures?
Ogres are alien lifeforms, Titanblooded to be precise, a gargantuan divergent branch of Earth-K's Manifold Giants; like the Godgiants, the genuine origins of Ogres are still as yet unclear. Arriving on Earth on solar sails miles across, Ogres began to terraform Earth on instructions by some unknown entity.

Ogres are beyond huge, every single one being Awesome+-sized. Their most unique feature is that they're hollow, and can easily sustain sentient life within. These colonists, called 'Hollowfolks', are the few humans to've not only survived but prospered since the Day of Ogrefalling. Further, Hollowfolks don't just live within Ogres, but on them, also, riding them about like behemoth 'steeds'.

Ogres, however, have extremely infectious DNA—-‘protean unDNA’—-capable of mutating Hollowfolks with a 'plague' called Ogresymbiosis.

Ogreorbitals are spacefaring Ogres, coming down to Earth once a month to feed. Mostly, though, Ogreorbitals drift sleepily in high Earth orbit, dreaming alien lethargic dreams. Ogreorbitals have the smallest human populations, but the highest populations of Ogresymbionts and Ogremagi!

Ogreleviathans are seafaring Ogres, only rarely coming to shore.

Ogresails are airborne Ogres that never land, even to feed. Ogresails're the rarest (and smallest!) breed of Ogre.

Ogrestructures are the physically largest Ogres, and stick to the land. Placeholder.

What is protean unDNA?
Found on both Earth-L AND Earth-K, protean unDNA is the morphic genetic code of the original root-species that later split into Ogres and Manifold Giants.

As if Ogres were not terrifying enough, Ogre blood can be used to create cultures of TEGS (Titanblooded Exponential Growth Syndrome), a disease that horrifically mutates it’s victims. Ogres, coincidentally, are immune to TEGS.

Are Ogres sentient?
...potentially. Telepaths connecting with an Ogre's mind can discern an ancient intellect 'staring' back at them---but it's an intellect completely without language, making judgments on sentience extremely difficult to ascertain.

Where do Ogres come from?
That is the $64,000,000 question, and no one seems to have any answers. It is known Ogres're of the same general 'species' as Earth-K's Void Giants and Earth-Q’s Fish, and that both races of invaders and that race of refugees come from the same origin-point. But what that origin-point is shall likely forever remain a mystery...

What do Ogres want?
Simply put, all Ogres want just one thing: to terraform Earth into an alien wilderness in which they might graze peacefully 'til the end of time. How do they do this, you ask? By eating everything, drinking the oceans, processing both, then regurgitating it back up in radically altered form/function.

What are proto-Avatars?
A proto-Avatar is a Demiogre randomly selected to host an embryonic clone of their empowering Ogre. Should the Ogre in question die, the requisite proto-Avatar irresistibly goes to ground and builds a nest, then enters hibernation. A few days later, a clone of that Ogre hatches rupturing forth into materiality in a very tiny form. It grows to its original size over a year of impossibly destructive gluttony. After full restoration, another of that Ogre’s Demiogres is randomly elevated to proto-Avatar status.

Proto-Avatars can have Ogre Dolls, and they themselves are a strange hybrid of Ogremagus and Ogresymbiont.

[Earth-L]superhumans (spawn of Ogres and others)!

Posted: Sat Nov 05, 2016 7:23 pm
by Hoid
Earth-L: (Part two of two) A dissertation on superhumanity.
What types of superhumans exist on Earth-L?
Ogres and their invasive DNA are the source of almost all superhumans in the universe of Earth-L. People living within Ogres have a disturbing tendency to mutate, becoming either Ogremagi or Ogresymbionts, known collectively as Demiogres. Biosculpts are a horrifying reality, also, along with the Perfected and the befouled.

Plus, there're magi, which're unrelated to Demiogres in ANY way...maybe. Placeholder.

What is Ogresymbiosis?
A Titanblooded disease, unique to humans aboard and within Ogres, that infect people with protean unDNA, resulting in hybrid beings known as 'Demiogres'. The powers granted by Ogresymbiosis are always either psychic or else are entirely rooted in bizarre, horrifying physical mutations.

Ogresymbiosis can, if you know how, be easily refined into TEGS.

Are Earth-K's Godgiants vulnerable to Ogresymbiosis? What about Half-Giants?
Manifold Giants bear an absolute immunity to Ogresymbiosis.

Half-Giants, however, are strikingly vulnerable...this has yet to happen, though!

Are Earth-Q’s Fish vulnerable to Ogresymbiosis? What about Archons and Epochs?
Fish are absolutely immune to Ogresymbiosis.

Archons and Epochs, however, are strikingly vulnerable...this has yet to happen, though! Such Demiogre hybrids would be extremely powerful and would mutate heavily to the point of HR Giger levels of monstrosity.

What are the befouled?
Befouled are a type of non-Demiogre superhuman, and’re the results of genetic tinkering by groundling scientists. However, while biosculpts can be reliably produced and’re easy to control, the befouled are horrors on two legs. Befouled are created when heavily modified protean unDNA is injected into a human host, causing the human in question to mutate out of control. The resulting monstrosities are superpowered entities driven mad by primal instinctual needs and the urge towards self-preservation at any cost. Placeholder.

What’re biosculpts?
A biosculpt is a mundane human who, with advanced surgical techniques, has an Ogresymbiont hollowed out yet kept alive, to be ‘worn’ like living ‘power-armor’. Furthermore, a biosculpt requires carefully-applied injections of protean unDNA to make the merger work AT ALL.

Most biosculpts are natives of groundling Clockworks, and are feverishly anti-Ogre. (For their part, Demiogres loathe biosculpts.)

Thankfully, only Ogresymbionts can be used to create biosculpts.

Biosculpts have no Exemplar. They are technically Titanblooded. They are, however immune to TEGS.

What're Demiogres?
Humans infected with Ogre DNA are known as Demiogres. 90% of all of Earth-L's superhumans are Demiogres. Suspiciously, Demiogres’re immune to TEGS.

As they're not entirely human, Demiogres of all kinds have no Exemplars. Demiogres are Titanblooded.

What is a Jupiter brain?
Named after a concept from science-fiction, a Jupiter brain is the Ogre Doll equivalent of an Ogremagus. Unlike magi and Ogremagi, however, Jupiter brains 'merely' have intellects so absurdly advanced as to be beyond all human belief. Jupiter brains are immune to TEGS.

Jupiter brains cannot become Matroishkas. As they're not entirely human, Jupiter brains have no Exemplars. Jupiter brains are Titanblooded.

What're magi?
Magi are human psychics seemingly unconnected to Ogres in any way, shape or form. Nevertheless, magi did not begin to appear in any real frequently prior to the Skyfalling of the Ogres. (This puzzles scientists greatly.)

Magi have an Exemplar named Maggie 'Psynapse' Bayne (PL10/150pp female magus telepath). Placeholder.

What are Matroishkas?
It's extremely rare, but sometimes, just sometimes, an Ogre Doll is infected with Ogresymbiosis. The resulting creature is a Matroishka, an 'Ogresymbiont-inside-an-Ogre-Doll'. Matroishkas are EXTREMELY powerful, but are sterile and live a decade at most. (Fortunately for Matroishkas, they reach full adulthood in just under a year...) Matroishkas are immune to TEGS.

Jupiter brains cannot become Matroishkas. Further, Matroishkas have no Exemplar. Matroishkas are Titanblooded.

What're Ogreborn?
Nephilim are referred to on Earth-L as 'Ogreborn'. They're falsely believed to be humans some naturalistically 'spliced' with Ogre genetic material. Many nephilim believe this, too!

As they're not entirely human, Ogreborn have no Exemplar. Placeholder.

What're Ogre Dolls?
Ogre Dolls are tiny Demiogre humanoids with three origins possible: as the child of an Ogremagus and an Ogresymbiont; as a tiny growth on an Ogremagus or Ogresymbiont that develops into an Ogre Doll before detatching from its ‘parent’; and as the deliberate creations of certain extremely rare Ogremagi and Ogresymbionts.

When an Ogremagus and an Ogresymbiont have a child together, there is a 50% chance the child will be some kind of Demiogre...or, they COULD be an Ogre Doll.

A large number of Ogre Dolls began life as tumors on a Demiogre that developed into a grosteque external eggsac, then fell off, hatching into an Ogre Doll.

Ogre Dolls are miniature humanoids with extremely tiny heads and grossly elongated arms. They come in two varieties: sentient Quickminds and nonsentient Dullminds.

Ogre Dolls are immune to TEGS.

Ogre Dolls have no Exemplar. Ogre Dolls are Titanblooded.

What're Ogremagi?
Ogremagi are a type of Demiogres. They are the result of Ogresymbiosis infecting a magus. Note, please, that some Ogresymbionts are psychic, also; the difference between them and Ogremagi is really one of focus: Ogremagi are stronger psychics, but Ogresymbionts are more heavily mutated.

The offspring of two Ogremagi is always Ogremagi. The progeny of an Ogremage and a magus human is always an Ogresymbiont. The offspring of an Ogremage and an Ogresymbiont is either a Demiogre of some sort (50%) or an Ogre Doll (50%). Strangely, Ogremagi and mundane humans are not cross-fertile!

Ogremagi are immune to TEGS.

Ogremagi have no Exemplar, as they are not entirely human. Ogremagi are Titanblooded.

What're Ogresymbionts?
Ogresymbionts are a type of Demiogres. They are the result of Ogresymbiosis infecting a mundane human being. Note that some Ogresymbionts are psychic; the difference between them and Ogremagi is one of power: Ogremagi are greater Demiogre psychics while Ogresymbionts have greater physical Demiogre powers/mutations.

The offspring of two Ogresymbionts or an Ogresymbiont and a mundane human is always an Ogresymbiont. The offspring of an Ogresymbiont and an Ogremage is either a Demiogre of some kind (50%) or an Ogre Doll. Strangely, Ogresymbionts and magi are not cross-fertile!

Ogresymbionts are, naturally, completely immune to the deforming effects of dreaded TEGS.

Ogresymbionts have no Exemplar, as they are not entirely human. Ogresymbionts are Titanblooded.

What are the Perfected?
Long ago, millennia upon millennia before the Day of Ogrefalling, the Solar Lion and ten of his sons and eleven of his daughters came to Earth-L and took mortal men and women as spouses, before eventually returning the to the pandimensional paradise of Aeion. They sired a small number of half-human/half-Sunsphinx children, which they further deliberately altered in utero, dampening some traits while enhancing others: essentially creating an entirely new species!

For tens of thousands of years, the Perfected slowly tended the ‘human herd’, preparing for the glorious day the Sunsphinx would return. The Perfected were worshipped as gods. Over time, however, direct manipulation was no longer necessary, so, the Perfected drifted into anonymity and kept steering mankind towards its perceived destiny.

Then...the Day of Ogrefalling occurred, and the Perfected’s carefully orchestrated prophecy fell apart like dried oak leaves in a hurricane. 90% of the entire Perfected race were wiped out over the course of the next ten years, and the breeding projects they’d so carefully nurtured were rendered useless by the release of Ogresymbiosis. Placeholder.

[Earth-G]unique superhumans (part 1)

Superbeings of Africa:
The Clockwork Goddess:
Crunch writeup:
PL10/200pp. Not all superhumans have a "type" or "breed": in the whole world, there're 9 superhumans that're each utterly unique: in Africa, that is the Clockwork Goddess.

As previously described, the collective unconscious theorized by Carl Jung is very real in the Green Star universe...and the Clockwork Goddess is an entity from there, bonded to a human host. Alien and embodying the concept of order, stability and precision, the Clockwork Entity 700 years ago bonded to a Zulu tribeswoman named Ngowy. Ngowy was radically transformed, but was not possessed---rather, she and the Clockwork Entity became a single amalgam: the Clockwork Goddess!

Ngowy still lives, kept alive by the stabilizing essence of the Entity inside her. The Clockwork Goddess turned to living iron; her hair grew long and braided and was studded with razors; and she gained an utter immunity to damage. The Clockwork Goddess is indestructible to anything physically damaging---energy-attacks and mental effects still affect her.

The Clockwork Goddess roams alone, having lost her taste for mortal company...but only for now. Recent events may well bring her back to civilization...
The Clockwork Goddess wrote:"There is order within all things---even chaos!"
The Clockwork Goddess is a PL10/150pp mini-cosmic entity, hiding inside a human body... Her powers deal with melee combat and her utter immunity to anything the medieval world has to throw at her. (A Sherman tank, on the other hand, would be an ugly surprise for a time-traveling Clockwork Goddess!)
Earthkings:
Less than a decade ago, a strange object was unburied in West Africa. Seemingly both a vase and a hibernating living thing, the Mgowii tribe took to worshipping it. They sacrificed animals to the object, chanted "spells" over it and otherwise gave it praise. Then...12 days later...it woke up.

Slithering out from the alien, desiccated shell were 22 gelatinous organisms. Variously colored in shades of neon, each creature bonded with a single Mgowii warrior, changing them into Earthkings.

Earthkings are technically the organisms and not their hosts, but in the end, such distinctions are pointless. The organisms may be "worn" (Alternate Form) or detached and sent on various tasks (Summon Minion). Each organism has specific abilities unique to it and it alone.

Furthermore, these organisms feed off of raw geokinetic energy to power their abilities---i.e., the raw lifeforce of the Earth. Every time they used their powers, Earthkings leeched life from the Earth, killing plants and animals around them.

Because of this, the other tribes turned on the Earthkings and drove them forth with fire---the only way available in medieval Africa to harm these beastmen. Now, deep in hiding in the Sahara Desert, the Earthkings plot their revenge.

Earthkings' powers are entirely biokinetic, involving things like adaptive shapeshifting, additional limbs, wings, gills and so on. Earthkings also tend to be much stronger than Starborn, in terms of PL and power points.

However...Earthkings cannot reproduce---the process of becoming Earthkings rendered them sterile. Furthermore, Earthkings still age as they normally will. One day, decades from now, the Earthkings will all die and fade from memory forever... And finally, fire is the grant bane of Earthkings, blazing through even the strongest of them with total ease. This means their durance in the Sahara is a miserable one, and only fuels their rage.

Earthkings have protean unDNA and’re thus Titanblooded.
Guyver, Green Universe-style. BIO-BOOST! Ia! Ia!

Superbeings of Asia:
Bodhsattvas:
Long ago, a Great Wanderer came to Earth and saw the primitive humanoids living little better than animals. Feeling sorrow in her heart, the Great Wanderer lay with human men and, over a single century, bore 11 hybrid children, each child containing a fragment of the Great Wanderer's immense psychic powers. Her task complete, the Great Wanderer returned to the stars, never to be heard of again.

These 11 hybrids themselves had children: a total of 311 of them, in total. Lesser than their parents, these 311 were closer to human than those who sired them. Furthermore, this 2nd generation discovered something wondrous: the key to immortality!...sort of. You see, they learned how to separate consciousness from physicality at the moment of death and inhabit the bodies of newborn infants. Upon reaching 13 years of age, their powers would reawaken; at 15 years of age, their memories would return---and they would live anew.

Calling themselves bodhisattvas, these quasi-immortals easily outlived their much more powerful parents, who died over a century's time and never lived again. Over time, one bodhisattva---Siddhartha Gautema---founded the religion of Buddhism.

Bodhisattvas are, on average, weaker than Starborn, but they cannot be killed, not truly killed---something even Michael Archangel cannot lay claim to!
Reincarnating, psionic monks and would-be gods, the bodhisattvas have fallen far from their original function. "Bodhisattva," by the way, is an actual Buddhist term...
Lemuria, the Lost Godcolony:
Long ago, the Green Star made its 2nd sweep of Earth, bombarding a small stretch of Mesopotamia. These ancient Starborn built a city---At-Lan-Tuu---and ruled it as living gods.

But calamity came to At-Lan-Tuu twice, and most of the ancient Starborn died. With one solitary exception, the surviving ancient Starbon fled to Tibet and sealed themselves into a vault known as Lemuria, to wait out the millennia. They had even brought Starbeasts with them as livestock.

While Lemuria was designed to be opened and closed at will, sabotage by dissidents led to Lemuria being irreversibly sealed. In order to survive, the Lemurians turned to cannibalism and inbreeding to perpetuate themselves. The lines separating Starbeast from Starborn blurred, until only degenerate hybrids---Morlocks---remained.

Two years ago, the Green Star's reappearance triggered a long-hidden sensor, opening Lemuria up for the first time in 3,000+ years. Hungry, deformed and monstrous, Lemuria's Morlocks look out on a world that is so profoundly alien to their own claustrophobic little microcosm. Soon, Tibet will learn of the Morlocks...and who knows what'll happen next!

Infamous Starborn:
Danse Macabre
Crunch writeup:
PL7/151pp. Danse Macabre is a strange, ethereal figure, more ephemera than substance. Originally a Russian peasant girl named Svetlanya, she inhaled a particularly large dose of the Green Star's dust, mutated out of control, then 'died'; or so it seemed. In reality Danse Macabre no longer needed her material form, as her soul itself had been changed. Now ethereal, invisible and inaudible, she also discovered her new state had gifted her with a total of eleven arms.

It took time, frustration and patience, but eventually Svetlanya learnt she could briefly materialize and become molten-hot or flesh-blisteringly cold---but only if she danced. When the dance ended, so, too, did poor Svetlanya return to her imperceptible state. Believing herself to now be an angel, Danse Macabre's sanity shattered. Now believing her every action, no matter how bizarre, is sanctioned by God, Danse Macabre has drifted westward.

Danse Macabre has been recruited by the Angel of Wolves and is one of his chief lieutenants and thus is a leader among the Kinfolk.
Danse Macabre wrote:"When I speak its with His voice!
Danse Macabre is the closest thing the Green Star universe has to DC's Spectre; Danse Macabre, however, is "merely" PL9/99pp, as opposed to the Spectre's PLX-status.
The Gate of Seven Swords:
Crunch writeup:
Once a peasant girl from rural Romania, the Gate of Seven Swords was radically transformed by the Green Star, and turned into a warrior nearly without peer. Trapped in a marriage to a hateful man who beat her, young Olga was freed by what she believes is Divine Providence.

She grew six additional arms, for a total of seven; each hand could summon a different kind of bladed weapon; AND she can fall into herself, teleporting across short distances. She murdered her boor of a husband and fled into the night.

Eventually, the Gate of Seven Swords was found by the Angel of Wolves, and given formal training in both battle AND in her powers. The Gate of Seven Swords is now one of the Angel of Wolves' most fervent followers.
The Gate of Seven Swords wrote:"I didn't kill my husband. I put down a rabid dog. You should learn the difference."
A terrifying foe on the battlefield to be sure...

[Earth-K]Manifold Giants

Posted: Sun Nov 06, 2016 2:35 am
by Hoid
Earth-K's Malevolent Manifold Giants:
Theme song: “We are War” by Miracle of Sound.
What are Manifold Giants?
Manifold Giants are gargantuan alien interdimensional humanoids of a fractured, warlike tribal civilization; they invaded Earth-K aboard vast spacebarges, and swiftly brought their new home under their authority.

Manifold Giants are all superpowered: in addition to being huge and crushingly strong, Manifold Giants may Wish Mirrors into existence and layer these Mirrors onto themselves (albeit only temporarily). As they're not human, however, Godgiants have no Exemplar.

Manifold Giants're also known as Godgiants and Void Giants. Placeholder.

What is protean unDNA?
Found on both Earth-K, Earth-L AND Earth-Q, with Small pockets found elsewhere, protean unDNA is the morphic genetic code of the original root-species that later split into Fish, Manifold Giants and Ogres.

On a more sinister note, Voidgiant blood can chemically transformed into TEGS (Titanblooded Exponential Growth Syndrome), a horrifying mutative disease—-a disease Manifold Giants themselves are immune to.

Where do Manifold Giants come from?
The Manifold Giants of Earth-K, the Ogres of Earth-L and the Fish of Earth-Q are the same general ur-species, coming from the same mysterious source-reality. The mindless, blind, mute Ogres were drawn to the rich psychic energy of Earth-L; whereas the ill-tempered and cunning Manifold Giants chose the superhuman-free Earth-K: 'easy pickings' they claimed. The Fush, meanwhile, migrated to Earth-Q, where they found welcoming homes and peaceful coexistence!

Where do Fish, Godgiants and Ogres come from? No one's sure. Ogres are nonsentient and barely cognizant of their surroundings, so no one can ASK them. As for the Void Giants, they are surprisingly touchy about the subject, claiming 'animals' drove them into the wider multiverse. (And Fish? They simply refuse to discuss the topic, preferring to focus on the ‘here-and-now’.)

What are Mirrors? What is Wishing?
A Mirror is a 'What if?' version of a Godgiants, that is layered onto the existing Void Giant. Mirrors are often very different from the actual titan in question; many are outrageously, with radically different traits, often essentially becoming a totally new character. A Mirror is a 'Dimensional' descriptor effect.

A Wish is the act itself of drawing up a Mirror. Wishing takes a move action, and can only be sustained for so long, before the Mirror 'breaks' and the Wish unravels to nothingness. Wishing is a 'Time' descriptor effect.

What OTHER powers do Manifold Giants possess?
As the name suggests, Manifold Giants are enormous, and're immensely physically strong; many are nigh-immune to harm of nearly any kind.

Plus: Godgiants are aliens, and thus possess staggeringly advanced technology---though they possess extremely few Demimachines, for some inexplicable reason.

Who---or WHAT---leads the Manifold Giants?
The Ogrefather---also Earth-K's imperiex---leads the Void Giant race, though his rule is far from secure; Godgiants chafe at their sire's governance, and're constantly seeking to topple him. Considering that he's an imperiex and a Manifold Giant, the Ogrefather's Wishes and Mirrors are simply epic to behold---meaning any coup d'etat has quite an uphill battle to fight!

The Ogrefather has a mate, however she is nowhere NEAR as powerful as he: known as the Ogremother, this lumpen troll of a female is thuggish, brutal and dimwitted----all admirable qualities in the eyes of a potential Void Giant mate!

Do Manifold Giants have a religion?
No---they refuse to acknowledge any Being or beings greater than themselves. They do have a creation myth, however, which depicts Voidgiants and Ogres alike being born by 'tearing free from the earth', before being 'driven off into cold night's embrace' by 'riotous animals that know not their places'.

Are Manifold Giants in any way related to Earth-Z's earthhaunts?
No. Godgiants are from elsewhere in the Forever Tree; earthhaunts are from the deepest reaches of the Beyond.

Do Manifold Giants have any alliances and/or enmities with Apkallu, Starvampires and Tlolkku?
Indeed, they do! Of course, Godgiants view these three 'races' with unmasked disdain even as they envy these aliens're powers.

Void Giants are very uneasy about Apkallu, as a fear exists Apkallu might learn to 'become' devils from Void Giant legendary. Placeholder.

What do Sungods think of Manifold Giants?
As threats, obviously. The peoples of Aeion would love nothing more than to storm Earth-K and put every last Manifold Giant in an extradimensional prisoncosmos---but, as the Ogrefather---an imperiex!---governs the Godgiants directly, the Solar Lion has reluctantly forbidden such activities...
Placeholder.

What are Half-Giants?
The hybrid offspring of Manifold Giants and human concubines, Half-Giants are the 'superhumans' of Earth-K and are covered in McGuffin greater detail, elsewhere.

[Earth-L]The Tomorrow-Herald!

[Earth-L]The Tomorrow-Herald!
Who is the Tomorrow-Herald?
The Tomorrow-Herald---James Jonathan Erlkonig is but a mere mundane human in the alien strangeness that is Earth-L---but he holds the keys to a potentially global apocalypse, in the twin forms of the New Garden of Eden (aka, 'the Edenic Lineage of Adam and Eve') and an alien artifact called the 'Sourcestone'!
To say the Tomorrow-Herald is a lunatic is understating it. He honestly believes his claims of godhood, and wholeheartedly believes triggering the Sourcestone is the genuine and true 'salvation' of humankind. The demons known as Ogres will die, and Ogresymbionts---the few that survive!---will be chained as humanity's new pets.
Placeholder.
This is the Tomorrow-Herald's stats writeup: Here you are!

Who is Impure William?
'Impure William' is a pathetic figure: an Ogresymbiont, captured by the Edenic Lineage of Adam and Eve, and brainwashed into absolute loyalty to the Tomorrow-Herald.
Impure William is a towering giant, but is sleek and alien and smooth in a way more reminiscent of an insect than a human being. Able to spew vast gouts of flame and blessed with monstrous strength, Impure William is nevertheless a 'glass jaw': all offense, no defense. Going down quickly in battle, Impure William is kept in reserve, and used as superhuman artillery. His cruel cultist masters have rendered Impure William fearful of punishment and supremely eager to earn their approval.
Placeholder.

What is the New Garden of Eden?
Also known as the Edenic Lineage of Adam and Eve, or the Exalted Brotherhood, the New Garden of Eden is a religious cult-of-personality congealed around a man who calls himself the Tomorrow-Herald. These 'Edenites' (as they call themselves!) truly believe their founder is the Second Son of God and a bringer of a Third Testament of the Bible.
They're deluded, of course, but their faith is everything to them---the truth of the Sourcestone's powers are of no concern to Edenites, as they believe their messiah can control the entropic energies therein!

What are the Tomorrow-Herald's goals?
Driven by a frightening monomania to cleanse the Earth of alien 'taint', the Tomorrow-Herald's success is bad news for everybody. Having recently secured the Sourcestone, the Tomorrow-Herald intends on activating the mysterious machine. Dream-visions maddening their intensity plague James' nightly sleep, promising the 'prophet' all his fondest wishes, in return for cracking the sphere open and releasing what is within.
Placeholder.

What is the Sourcestone, and what does the Tomorrow-Herald intend to use it for?
A massive sphere the size of a top-of-the-line cruise ship and covered in ridges strongly reminiscent of Celtic knotwork, the Sourcestone has laid buried under Rome, Italy for millions of years, before the arrival of the ur-monsters known as Ogres unearthed it, in their destruction of the Eternal City.
Obviously an alien Device of some kind, the New Garden of Eden went to extraordinary lengths to secure the Sourcestone and bring it---at great personal cost!---to what was once named Trinity, New Mexico, in the former United States of America.
Placeholder.

Is the Tomorrow-Herald aware of the multiverse?
No. Thankfully.

---/>_-[Earth-A's greatest scientific minds] laboring under the watchful and paranoid gaze of the Blood Lords!
Dr. Mortuus!
PL6/151pp. Real name Ezra Reids. Male mundane human. Dr. Mortuus, employed by Europe's dread Night Lords, is the greatest human necrotechnician in the Earth-A universe. Having proven himself trustworthy countless times AND with his life grossly expanded by necrotechnological 'blood-grafts', Dr. Mortuus knows more about Starvampirism than even many genuine Starvampires! Placeholder.

The Somnolent Seeker!
PL15/210pp. Real name Agni Firos. Male Sunwitch human/genecoded Tlolkku hybrid. (Normally, Tlolkku are not interfertile with humans, but being 'genecoded'---i.e., given 'plastic' DNA---makes all combinations of heritage possible.) Highly psychic and kept in a medically-induced coma to HEIGHTEN those very same abilities, the Somnolent Seeker has extrasensory powers and telepathy on a huge scale.

But his true power is his ability to copy and internalize the minds of others. Focusing exclusively on absorbing the minds of scientific geniuses, the Somnolent Seeker works science with only his consciousness...he’s the chief innovator of the Blood Lords. Placeholder.

---/>_-[Earth-B's greatest scientific minds] both good AND evil geniuses!
the Dream Moth!
...this goes without saying, of course!

Dr. Microbe!
The tiniest Leaf, ever, Dr. Microbe is the leading light in Earth-B's microbiology studies. Nearly as small as the microbes he studies, Ashe is respected throughout the scientific community---if looked askance at for his, well, bizarre adventures!
Here's his stats...!
Placeholder.

The Worldengineer!
The Worldengineer's a Cyst Tumor mutant; physically frail and perpetually sickly, the Worldengineer nevertheless is THE smartest inventor native to Earth-B's Earth next to the Dream Moth himself! Placeholder.

---/>_-[Earth-C's greatest scientific minds] gods and demigods and mortals!
Enki:
Crunch Writeups: Here thou goest fair and gentle journeyer!
PL12/151pp. Male Sumerian god. 'Deity' of bodies of freshwater, freshwater fish and knowledge. Enki, a son of Anu, is one of the most learned men in his age. Basically a humanoid amphibious fishman, Enki is, by Bronze Age Earthly standards, a huuuuge genius.

Technologically, Enki has theorized ideas all the way up to Europe's Industrial Revolution; however, Enki's only implemented up to 1500s Imperial Chinese levels. (Real science takes time!) Considering this is the early Bronze Age, Enki may well be the smartest superhuman on Earth.

Enki holds the Bread of Life, a neuroenhancer foodstuff that allows gods to sustain even greater energies inside themselves than they normally can. Producing the Bread of Life is difficult, however, andso only the very highest gods have any access to it at all. Placeholder.

Nimrod, hunter of gods, heroes and monsters!
PL7/149pp. Male Canaanite demigod. Deity of hunting and ingenuity, it is the unparalleled intellect of mighty Nimrod that led to the construction of the Babel space station and led humanity to new understanding of the cosmos. Placeholder.

W00t!

...wait. What did he invent, you ask? He invented, um, kewl stuff, stuff so kewl it has to be described in the vaguest terms possible! Maybe a hundred issues down the line we may actually give thought to what that stuff is!

Asclepius!
PL10/99pp. A serpent-turned-sentient-Starbeast, fearsome Asclepius is actually the rather gentle architect of what promises to be a smashingly successful secular medical praxis...assuming the Red Hand doesn't kill him, first!

You see, medieval medicine is a hogwash combination of superstition and poorly-understood techniques---but, to Asclepius, it all seems so clear. You see, Asclepius has essentially invented the scientific process: apply Occam's Razor, hypothesize, test, peer review, repeat, until genuine results that work and are explainable are generated!

Obviously this flies in the face of millennia of 'medical lore'; as such, Aesclepius has generated a firestorm of outrage among human doctors---they do their best to demonize him, even as hundreds are cured with the knowledge Aesclepius has gathered by trial and study.

Asclepius has been brought into the inner circle of Simon Luther, a British duke and second-cousin to Queen Elizabeth I. There, Luther makes certain Asclepius has all the funding and equipment the snake-Starbeast needs to carry on this vital research!

The 'enlightened illusion', Siddhartha of Maya has done more to explore the limits of Earth-H's extremely ascetic superhumans than anyone else. A living, sentient hologram, he may control the perceptions of illusions. Actually a computer-generated thoughtform, Siddhartha of Maya enjoys defying limits and boundaries at every possible turn.

Among Siddhartha of Maya’s countless innovations in arhat self-advancement are the strange machines known as Fyreassists, tiny spheres that entrap sol thoughtforms, for the purposes of boosting arhats’ pyrokinesis. An arhat may own a single Fyreassist without violating his or her oaths of severe austerities and self-denial.

Born as he was—-having never known a human life—-the Cognizent has made incredible breakthroughs in the field of the fledgelng study of Ogrescience. Furthermore, the Cognizant is one of the Secret shareholders of the Griffon Mythology, helping Griffon in her Byzantine scheme to ensure Ogrish dominance via unwitting human assistance.

In addition to his cosmic level of intellect, the Cognizent is also a telekinetic of immense powers.

The Cognizant is bioconnected to the Horror That Walks on Teeth! This makes him broodkin to several Demiogres: Doomsday, the Dionysian and the Horse-Headed Centurion, among several others. Placeholder.

One of the founders of the Tempestineers, Caleb Dararue was a bioelite and part of the mercenary band that found Tempest. He was a major part in the creation of the heroic Tempestineer, as he was an Enginseer with deep knowledge of genetics—-knowledge that was mostly lost, by then.

Sadly, Dr. Dararue was himself not suitable to become a Tempestineer. This ‘failure’ (entirely self-perceived, Mind you) stung him deeply, and eventually led to him committing suicide after the thirtieth Tempestineer mission. In Tempest, space is a premium, but Caleb was nevertheless interred in a tomb of his own—-the only way the Tempestineer knew how to honor this founding genius.

Such is the case with the I Who Observes the I That is Himself, a clownfish-god from the Bowl of Uruku, who attained genuine immortality and spent millennia wandering the greater Forever Tree, before finally returning home laden with knowledge beyond anything Linntuuu has EVER seen before. Setting up a workshop near the Nemmineniiyu Wastes to the south of the Bowl of Uruku, the I Who Observes the I That is Himself (‘the I That Is’, for short) spends his time building machines roughly equal to 21st Century CE America, and gifting them to the mightiest of Heroes, be they gods or mortals, either way.

[Multiverse-wide]Flashpoints in History!

by Hoid
Throughout the Forever Tree, certain pivotal events occurred that helped shape its universes to their present course. We shall now examine one such pivotal event per parallel-Earth, Perpendicular and Resonance.

Earth-A:
The A-Creatorfire Event:

The return of the being claiming to be Vlad the Impaler:
In the Forever Tree, vampires are not human and never were human, instead being derived from Tlolkku stock. Starvampires know this very well ---though they hide it from their human lackeys--- and thus received the shock of an unlifetime when a very human-seeming Dracula ---Vlad Tepes!--- showed up out of nowhere, displaying all the traits of Starvampirism!

Claiming to be a unique relic of ancient Starvampire genetics experimentation, Dracula laid claim to bloodlineage directly from Imik, a now-deceased Lord of a now-destroyed Night House. He laid claim to London, and presented evidence so concrete the Blood Lords uneasily allowed Dracula a position at their table. But...it was all complete b******t, and the reality of the so-called 'human vampire' is simple: Vlad Tepes was actually a 30-year-Old English Sunwitch who could travel through time. Going to the distant future, long after the Starvampires've been overthrown, and brought back amazing technology, allowing him to simulate nefarious Starvampire deathrights/superpowers!

For decades, Vlad reigned in London as a terrifyingly enigmatic monster; even the Starvampires feared what Dracula could do! Obviously it all came crashing down. Even Vlad, as deceitful as he was, as fearsome as he pretended to be, couldn't keep the ruse up forever, and Dracula was eventually outed as the fraud he was.

The resulting scandal shocked Starvampire society to the core. A Sunwitch had infiltrated them, and with such ease! The human herd was no longer so 'defenseless' in the Starvampires' eyes. The Night Houses joined forces to capture Dracula and end his chicanery...but the Impaler had one last trick to play.

You see, as the Night Houses converged on Dracula's estate, he utilized a weapon that, in the centuries to come, would free Earth-A from its undead masters: a sun bomb. The explosion of pure sunlight effectively hit every Starvampire in England and Wales like the sun at midday: thousands of Starvampires were instantly incinerated, and tens of thousands more were crippled for eternity. As for Vlad, he himself was killed by the sun bomb.

Humanity had seen their 'unbeatable' masters both humiliated and crippled. The illusion of Starvampires' necrokinetic omnipotence was broken, forever.

Earth-B:
The alien invasion of 2023 CE-2030 CE:
The event that had the most pivotal change in human/mutant relations actually had nothing to do with mutants directly, at all; in 2023 CE, mutants were beginning to return to the normal space/time continuum, and anti-mutant bigotry was on the decline. And then---the Avv'ha invaded!

A galaxy-spanning civilization of 17 distinct alien species, the Avv'ha was fighting its own slow decline. Enemies had eaten away the Avv'ha's borders, internal rebellions were rampant, and political corruption was rife. The Avv'ha Sensenr believed primitive Earth to be both an easy conquest and a morale-boosting symbolic gesture.

Attacking without warning or mercy, Avv'ha warsphereships descended from the sky like gigantic mechanical death-orbs: they laid waste to entire cities and disgorged thousands of fighter-crafts each. This xeno-blitzkrieg lasted 7 whole years, before humanity rallied to repel their invaders and send them packing.

Oh, mutants helped, to be sure, but too few'd emerged from the timestream to've made any real difference. No, humanity, through great sacrifice and valiant effort, more-or-less saved themselves.

Scavenged alien technology was the prize of human victory---especially Thrall-cybernetics! During the invasion, the Avv'ha had captured tens of thousands of Earthly beings, trying to turn them into Thralls. Mundane humans simply could not survive the MASSIVELY invasive surgeries...but mutants could.

Thus, the first Thralls were unleashed on mankind, much to humanity's dismay. Humans saw how terrifying a mere handful of mutants could be in battle and it chilled them to the bone. When the Avv'ha surrendered and their technology was appropriated by Earth's various nation-states, human civilization had become insular and suspicious of the few mutants in their midst; they'd falsely come to believe aliens and mutants had been allies. Paranoia took root, and something hideous blossomed in the hearts of men.
Placeholder.

the Ectoplasmic Pollination:
A young man in a small American city found four Devices of imwid make—-quite by accident, it seemed—-and this awakening his own powers, which occurred at the exact same time as the Solar Lion imbuing the man with an imperiex-essence. In a cataclysmic CLANG!, the City started to melt and warp, and mutagenic waves of reality distortion swept the land.
Placeholder.

the Mutation Wars:
The Mutation Wars were actually two separate conflicts that raged at the same time, just in different parts of Earth. Both involved humanity fighting to wipe out mutants and mutants just fighting to survive.

Though humanity made massive early gains, the entrance of Giants into both conflicts led to humanity’s defeat.
Placeholder.

the First Mutation War:
The First Mutation War took place in Asia Minor, Europe and the Middle East.

The infamous Our Father came to eventually lead the human war-effort in the First Mutation War.
Placeholder.

the Second Mutation War:
The Second Mutation War was truly global and fought on a much grander scale.
Placeholder.

Earth-C:
The destruction of the planet Mercury:
The Godswar only lasted three days, but it’s effects were cosmic. The Bull of Heaven took his feud with Enlil to its logical conclusion, engaging in a colossal duel on Mercury. After a full Earth day of fighting....Mercury shattered.
Placeholder.

The epic of Gilgamesh:

Earth-D:
War of the Marty Stu's:
"+Eat s**t and die, you s*****g s*****r!+" was the warcry that began the most kewl war in existence!
(+ This is an actual quote from a Youngblood comic. Seriously.)
Who is X-treme?!! Who is hard-assed enough to take on the newly ascendant and utterly awesome Marty Stu, possessor of the Amazing Cube? Who is that hardcore?!! The Amazing Cube can do anything, as long as it’s kewl and edgy and totally not a phase, mom!

No one understood Marty Stu, how unfair life was to him.
Placeholder.

Earth-E:
The emergence of the Destroyer's realm:
When the Mythos first intruded a tentacle into the Earth-E universe, they possessed seven alien warlords, injecting them with dozens of liquified war-based thoughtforms each. Driven mad by the experience, these seven xeno generals were sent to test the seven planets chosen to act as beachheads for the coming invasion.

The warlord known as the Destroyer was assigned to Earth.
Placeholder.

Doctor Xeno attacks San Francisco:
Doctor Xeno was in fact human, but the outrageous transformations he body underwent after his awakening as a wildling transformed him into a stereotypical ‘grey alien’, with a power to assemble hyper-advanced machinery with the power of his mind. His sanity breaking under the strain of this metamorphosis, Doctor Xeno, his mind in a perpetual fever-Dream, decided that he, as an ‘alien’ needed to ‘invade’ Earth...

The Spiralhorns manifests for the first time in Times Square in New York City:
This is the even that kicked off the Mutant Epoch.
Placeholder.

Earth-F:
The devils of the west:
In Europe and the Middle East, Machine-Deities and Machine-Titans were received....poorly...by the average man and woman. Labeled beasts if Satan, the Church declared war on them and various sultans decreed them ifrit in the service of Iblis. Things have been...strained...since then.

The Metatron incident:
Originally an English Jew rabbi from a much-spit-upon ghetto in a city now forgotten, becoming a Machine-Deity upended all European social order—-as Metatron -a Jew- was now the most powerful superhuman on Earth, having spontaneously generated a Distort as a powercell! Lost in the delusion he really was the angel of Kabbalistic theology, the Metatron turned his attention to the oppressed peoples of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

Manifesting in apocalyptic form over the city of Jerusalem, the Metatron sounded a single note, a music blast so sublime it rearranged space/time to catastrophic effect. Everyone in the city died instantly—-then was resurrected as THE GOLDEN. Placeholder.

After the First Master seized power in India, the Arhat League gathered to discuss what must be done. Hindu gorgons rallied to support the First Master, while Buddhist gorgons decried the First Master’s action as directly against the tyrant’s former claims of peace and serenity. Placeholder.

The emergence of the Secondsun:
The Secondsun was the first Beast-Prophet—-an arhat/gorgon hybrid—-and she preached a radical strain of superhuman supremacy. Claiming the Awakened were gods and on the verge of buddhahood, the Secondsun gathered a band of arhat and gorgon disciples and more or less took over the Indian city of Benares for their own endeavors—-an act of superhuman aggression that rocked Earth to its core. By her lonesome, over a period of eight days, the Selector of Champions killed over half the population of New York City, before the military engaged her in a six-week-long guerilla war that ended in her death.

As her corpse lay there festering, the approaching soldiers were overcome by the overwhelming desire to consume the Selector of Champions---in a cannibalistic frenzy, they did just exactly that. These soldiers became Sunwolves, and the Wolfenwar changed forever.

(Obviously, this was not the sole genesis of Sunwolves, but it was the earliest emergence of the breed in the modern era. Other such 'Sunrisings' happened elsewhere; this was merely the first, and the most well-publicized.)

The Sea Bishop comes to Prague:
In the chaos following Arkfall, Fish set out to explore the strange new world that would now be their only home. Most of these scouts stayed near coasts, but one—-Nangbu Faw—-went rather far inland. Everywhere he went, Faw was hounded as a devil, something decanted onto dry land from the sulfurous pits of Hell.

He was captured while in Eastern Europe, and taken to the city of Prague to gift to the king. Faw felt certain he’d die upon reaching Prague, and he was nearly proven right. In a moment of mercy, the king ordered a local bishop to try to learn Faw’s alien tongue, and to teach Faw Russian in turn. This would be the beginning of a new age.

The bishop and Faw slowly learned from each other, and the bishop took the time to preach of Jesus Christ. By sheer coincidence, the primary Fish religion bore striking parallels to Christianity, and so Faw felt a holy imperative and converted.

When the King next saw Faw, the Fish was well-versed in Greek and Russian and thoroughly committed to the Christian religion. In a moment of religious awe, the king ignored his advisors’ pleas to kill Faw, and he set the Fish free. Now known as the Sea Bishop, before leaving Faw made the sign of the cross and swore to convert his people to Christianity.

This would be the beginning of a new civilization for all of Earth...

Like an apocalyptic comet, the Skytower hurtled helplessly towards Earth, and broke in half as it fell. He Who Was Strides was released from within, using his immense physical strength combined with his godlike psionics to safely land himself and the two halves of the Skytower. However, He Who Strides was forced to eject all fiftyfour of his Skytower’s fuelcells into deep space—-as they went, they lit up the sky like extra suns—-hence, ‘the Day of Fiftyfive Suns’. Placeholder.

The Twilight of the Gods:
Rome and Parthia first deployed their immense superhuman assets in a brief six-week war known as 'the Twilight of the Gods'---a conflict so devastating, it rendered both empires EXTREMELY reluctant to deploy those assets against each other ever again!

Skytower Giants are, well, epic. Though extremely fragile even by mere human standards, Skytower Giants, well, tower over just about everything---their powers're equally epic!

Skytower Magi are physically crippled but their psionic powers are second-to-none. With a thought, a Skytower Magus can kill hundreds of Roman legionairres at a single swipe.

This means that the one time Rome and Parthia unleashed their superhuman assets against each other, it was a battle so catastrophic its remembered in Roman and pagan European folklore as 'the Twilight of the Gods'!

L and its 77 thoughtform offspring became uniquely aware of the concept of solidity and rigid self-Identity following the Godsfall Incident of Perpendicular-1, however, and swore to achieve humanity. L was the first to succeed, with Ha-Satan following at L's heels.

The Creatorfire is lit:
In the very earliest days of Titan rule, Gol the Glutton traveled to the sun, bringing back to Linntuuu an ectoplasmic ‘reflection’ of the sun. Of apocalyptic brilliance, Gol was forced to contain this Creatorfire inside a Demimachine urn. (This urn is one of the few Demimachines on Linntuuu to retain functionality.)

Placeholder.

The Titans leave Linntuuu forever:
Wielding memetic weaponry hat could be partially described as ‘real’ and utilizing time-distortion techniques now lost to them, the bestial ‘gods’ drove the Titans off Linntuuu and into the wider multiverse as gargantuan cosmic exiles. The Titans faded from memory, and the victorious gods turned back planetwards in triumph.

Dividing Linntuuu into three territories, or Principalities—-the Principality of Megapolis, the Principality of Scripture and the Principality of Ur-Ku—-the Gods began to contest among themselves for who would rule now that the Titans were gone.

Of course, what began as political jockeying exploded on everyone, quickly leading to a century-long war that reduced the planet to barbarism, saw the first hints of the Ban and consumed most of the surviving Titantech in the process. In the end, the gods’ war pushed the humans too far, and they rose up in rebellion!

In the Principality of Ur-Ku, the gods reassert control and grind the humans back into submission. Ur-Ku slowly becomes the Bowl of Uruku.

In the Ultimate City, formerly called the Principality of Megapolis, neither humans or gods won, both falling victim to the Megapolitan robot defense-force.

In the World of Stone (once titled the Principality of Scripture) the gods were all slaughtered, and a zealous empire of monarch-worship evolved to fill the religious void. With rock quarries everywhere, but metal deposits rarer than hen’s teeth, the Stonemen slowly lost their metallurgical talents, instead becoming stonemasons of nearly supernatural skill.

The Ultimate City is discovered by The Westwarded:
Following clues left by Allsire and Alldam, the semi-human sect of explorers known as the Westwarded headed into the wastes, driven half mad by the ecstatic visions that tormented their every waking moment.

The murder of the supreme being:
The Worldfather died, and His corpse became the entirety of Perpendicular-4---but it was not a natural death! No, He-who-is-Dead was murdered, executed in cold blood!

But, how does one kill a genuinely omnipotent Entity? Simple: He asks you to do it, and He even helps you do it!

You see the Worldfather grew tired, and He wanted to die, but suicide was out of the question: as an omnipotent being, He could always resurrect Himself at a later date. Even ceasing to exist was, by definition, an impermanent non-fate, as even oblivion could not suppress the desire to return, if He so wished it.

So, extraordinary measures had to be taken. The Worldfather created a digital copy of Himself and tortured it, experimented on, testing to see what would work and what wouldn't work. (That this treatment drove his cloned sentience insane mattered not to the Worldfather. All that mattered to Him was success.)

[Earth-F]Superhumans, part one of two

[Earth-F]A dissertation on local superhumanity: part 1 of 2.
MACHINE-DEITIES:
Theme Song: “Man and Machine” by Miracle of Sound.
What are 'Machine-Gods'?
Machine-Deities are humans from 1112 CE Europe and 1112 CE Asia, infused via radical picotechnology instasurgery into superpowered cyborgs. Male Machine-Deities are designed for heavy, sustained conflict; female Machine-Deities are rebuilt for stealth and reconnaissance. Placeholder.

Where did all this tech come from??!
Aliens. To be specific, a species known as the tzorareesph, a species in a losing war against the Tlolkku. Dying and running out of time, the tzorareesph unleashed the Deityplague on medieval Earth, intent on whipping up an army of superhuman soldiers. laceholder.

Why are Machine-Gods found ONLY in Europe and Asia?
Pure chance. The tzorareesph chose two major population-centers more-or-less at random. Factoring into the decision, however, was the European and Asian propensity for organized, large-scale conflicts, but, to be honest, the aliens could have just as easily chosen the Middle East and South America. Placeholder.

Well, then---why aren't the Machine-Gods being shipped off to some extrasolar battlefield? Why are they running free, ignorant to their superpowers' true origins?
The answer is quite simple, really: the Tlolkku wiped the remaining tzorareesph out in the hours immediately following the Deityplague, and then, not knowing---or caring!--what their slain enemies'd done, just turned around and left. Machine-Gods were created to fight in a war, but never had masters to answer to.

Indeed, Machine-Deities're utterly ignorant to their intended purpose, instead inventing their own beliefs as to why what has happened, happened!

What kind of superpowers do Machine-Deities possess?
In theory: why, any suite of superpowers're possible, including psionics, shapeshifting, even dimension-hopping and time-travel!

However, because their makers died so quickly, Machine-Deities were never equipped with additional weaponry, meaning the Device and Gadgets superpowers are not available.

However, all Machine-Deities receive the following powers at no cost during character generation:
A Head Above the Rest: Density 1 (Feats: Innate; Flaws: Permanent). [0pp.] Growth 1 (Feats: Innate; Flaws: Permanent). [0pp.] — [0pp.]
Built to Last: Features 1 (cast-ironstomach). [0pp.] Immunity 1 (aging). [0pp.] — [0pp.]
---/>_-This is a completed universal Machine-Deity power-set build.

How many Machine-Gods and Machine-Goddesses are there?
Quite a few: nearly a half-million, roughly divided between Europe and Asia.

Is there a Demimachine Exemplar?
Yes. A Tibetan Bon shaman, LIONSHAMAN (PL14/280pp), a four-armed, lion-headed paragon, is the Machine-God Exemplar. Possibly the most powerful of all Machine-Deities, LIONSHAMAN is an ally of the Second Sect, a 'brotherhood' of Starvampire-worshippers! (As you might imagine, LIONSHAMAN is a supervillain!) Placeholder.

Are Machine-Deities Demimachines?
Yes.

What do Machine-Deities look like?
Placeholder.

Is the Earth-F imperiex a Machine-Deity?
No. The Overlord is a psychic utterly unrelated to the machineries of the tzorareeh. He is, in fact, an Exotic! (The Overlord is discussed elsewhere.)
