Complications
Motivation: Greed: Tomé is a swindler and con-artist at heart, she will take any opportunity to fleece others of their valuables, often going to creative extremes to make a buck or shill her shady wares. Her schemes often backfire ending up with her suffering karmic retribution.
Motivation: Recognition: Prideful to a fault Tomé wants the world the SMELL HER GREATNESS! She will brag and show off, staking claim to any impressive sounding consequence of her actions even if doing so would lead to misfortune for her.
Quirk - All The World A Stage: Tomé is under the belief that the world operates by narrative conventions and often blindly and absolutely works under random assumptions she makes based on tropes and cliches as if they are irrefutable facts.
Secret - Stage Magician: As someone who always admired stage magicians Tomé decided to pretend to be one, trying to hide her magical spells as smoke and mirrors despite the fact she, shamefully, has no talent at stage magic.
Weakness - Bully: Tomé is weak to mockery, often acting defensively at first but slowly breaking down if it continues.

Notes:
A PC build of mine and based on a stupid joke idea I once had: A real magician pretending to be a fake magician using real magic to fake real fake magic. Basically a twist on Zatana who's a stage magician who happens to be able to use real, she's someone who uses real magic to try and fake using stage magic which she sees as superior.

Background: A young girl and former criminal.

Having been born poor, untalented and rather weak Tomé had always found herself envious of those around her. She had wanted to live their lives, to be rich, to be loved, to be powerful. Starting at a young age she learned how to use her wits to get what she wanted, cheating and conning fellow children with some amount of success.

At the age of 10 she ended up stumbling upon something that would change her life forever. One day while wandering around the city she ended up witnessing the street performance of a famous magician. Enraptured by the showman Tomé sought to dedicate herself to imitating him, to become a world famous Magician.

However Tomé lacked the talent and finesse for even the most basic of magic tricks, constantly and spectacularly failing to perform any slight of hand or smoke and mirrors trickery. However while delving into her studies of the subject she also studied the occult to attempt to discover any tricks or secrets they might have to offer her. It was through this that she discovered her own innate magical abilities and talents. The various spells she was able to concoct capable of matching and beating the effects of mere stage magic. She would be able to dazzle and captivate audiences with her performances like she wanted.

However despite this the girl was unhappy, she had wanted to be a STAGE magician and was not any closer to that goal. Sure she could fake it, but she considered the whole thing a loss if she couldn't do the actual tricks. She became determined to not let anyone learn that she was in fact, actually magical rather than just a talented performer.

After "succeeding" in her quest Tomé started to use her new abilities to fleece people out of their money. Reselling store bought merchandise at inflated prices, running gambling scams against local children, extorting her former bullies, and literally stealing candy from babies.Eventually she was discovered by the police, though given the lack of severity for the crimes committed and the discovery of her vehemently denied magical powers she was instead released on probation to work with the local junior heroes team as a form of community service and reformation attempt.

Reputation - Vigilante: Arachne is a notorious vigilante and has the town split in how to view her. Some see her as a hero doing good, others see her as a menace taking the law in her own hands.

Notes:
A generic Spider-man style teen hero build, rather than a customizable template this is more of a complete build for a quick start.

This was somewhat of a quick build to make but did pose some interesting issues to get around. Spider-man has a variety of skills and abilities that I wasn't able to get down due to system limitations. Rather than being hard to create he simply was too expensive to fully or even mostly emulate despite being one of the more straightforward heroes. I had intended to have much higher ability scores on this build, having high pure fighting and as well as some low dexterity and intellect ranks but those went to the chopping block when just adding those up put this build over budget before I even got started on the the Web shots or adding advantages and skills.

Among the biggest issues is that Spider-man has two separate means of attack as well as two different ways to use his ranged attack that would rely on different ranged attack skills requiring a lot more investment in accuracy. He punches, he shoots web shots, he throws things both with his web shots and normally, it's basically three different attack skills that require investment and what made my decision on how to build the Web Shot power.

Web Shot was built originally as a Move Object power but that made it well into the red when I already was trying to shave points off of unneeded things while still keeping it somewhat true to the source, 6 points could not be afforded. After some thinking I decided to alter the power to being a Strength Effect. To me it makes sense, while it is web Spider-man normally relies on his own strength to pull, lift, and restrain objects using it. I considered Elongation but that seemed both a little too cheesy and didn't quite fit with the plan to be able to leave restraints (Handled with the Continuous power on strength, basically holding the grab in place). I had plans for Alternate Effects but didn't have the room for them in the budget.

Among the other things that were shaved were Intellect, while Peter is usually a genius it didn't quite feel core to a Spider-man style build so much as something unique to Peter himself. There's quite a few iterations of spider-man, both alternate Peters and with new characters, and Super Intellect is not usually a thing that tends to get carried over, even to alternate versions of Peter. The Raime version in the original Fox cinematic universe was Peter, and he was acknowledged as smart but wasn't a tech genius. This is one of the reasons the Web Shooting isn't a device, but instead a power. Many versions of Spider-man just roll that in with the rest of the Spider Powers and a lack of techie skills necessitates that decision to keep the more core Web-slinging ability.

Presence skills took a hit too, I wanted to add a lot more deception to the build, and higher presence or skills that use it. Spider-man is generally rather mouthy and funny, decent Presence skills seems like a good way to showcase that. But sadly the point costs kinda killed it so just a couple ranks of Presence it was. Spider Man seems like the perfect sort of hero to use Taunt, but that requires lots of deception, which is normally also used for feinting, and Spiderman is also sort of the perfect hero to put Agile Feint on since he's got such high acrobatics. Generally he's a skill monkey with a lot of Redundancy. The very two things 3E's system loathes with a passion.

Seriously, Spider-man has web-slinging but also the leaping power of a spider. He has good ranged and melee ability. He is dodgy but also tanky. He has awesome super powers but also can create super tech. He is capable of physically dancing around his opponents to get them to become vulnerable but also can taunt and outwit them into screwing themselves over.

Still I think this build came out rather well, it captures what I feel is fairly core to a Spider-clone. If some points are desperately needed for customization Ranged Attack can probably be dropped for full Web Slinging Skill which frees up 5pp.

Throw, +0 (DC 19)
Unarmed, +8 (DC 19)

Complications
Power Loss - Design Failure: Despite the numerous tests and improvements the Exosuit is not Perfect. Extreme or unpredictable conditions can lead to parts of the suit shutting down or failing to work properly preventing access to some or all of a power.
Reputation - Rich Asshole: Jericho has a lot of wealth and is not hesitant to make use of it or rub it in others faces. She's prideful, narcissistic, and absolutely confident in herself.
Weakness - Just a Man: Underneath all the metal and machinery lies just a normal human, and while her armor can withstand the stress of clashing with super powered villains her body is not so resilient. Effects that can bypass the suit will ignore the bonuses of the impervious toughness bonus granted by it.

A generic Iron Man style teen hero build. This one uses my Power Suit archetype as the base with a slight bit of shifting.

Ultimately this was easier to accomplish than the Spider man build thanks to Removable acting as a points save as well as descriptors lining up well enough for me to be able to put strength into an array with a ranged attack. With all the point saves I was able to actually afford to put some fluff on the character. Intellect ranks, expertise, some appropriate if underwhelming Advantages.

A generic Hawkeye teen hero style build.

Honestly Hawkeye was always the most forgettable Avenger to me to the point I have no knowledge about him other than he's the guy who uses a bow. Not even the stupid trick bow and arrow set like Green Arrow. He's basically a modern soldier who for some reasons uses a Bow and Arrow. ...okay?

Anyway, this is a skill monkey build which is one that usually screwed over by how the system works. I ended up cutting a few things the build probably should have, like melee capabilities but I nixed that in favor of some more skills.

For the build decisions; I considered using Defensive Roll but decided against it, because by god is Defensive Roll terrible. Instead I just made a protection power. Some would be doubtful and ask why the normal human archer has balanced Defense/Toughness and for that I have a very good reason. Because shut up. Defenses are twice as expensive despite being half as effective, the build is a number crunch enough as it is and already playing into a heavily nerfed class. Just consider the Badass Normal protection to be a combination of rolling with the punches, luck, and the good old plot armor all squishy comic book heroes have when they survive getting punched in the face by the same guy who just seconds ago bitch slapped Thor across a city. Other than that there's not too much non-standard to explain.

Throw, +0 (DC 17)
Twin Katana: Strength-based Damage 4, +6 (DC 21)
Unarmed, +4 (DC 17)

Complications
Disability - Insane: Deadpool-chan is completely insane. She is convinced the whole world is fake and there is an audience of people constantly observing her. She works on the assumption that the world will opperate on narative conventions and none of her actions really mater.
Monstrous - Deformed: Because of a combination of her regeneration and her cancer Deadpool-chan's face looks like someone took a cheese grater too it. Repeatedly.
Motivation: Thrills: While greedy and skeevy Deadpool-chan is mostly interested in indulging in her own vices and being entertained.
Quirk - Mouthy: Deadpool-chan has no filter and often insults and mocks others or spouts the first thought that enters her head when meeing someone. She is also extremely crude, insisting that everyone call her DP-chan knowing full well what that means.
Weakness - Comedic Incompetence: As a comedy character Deadpool chan sadly has a habit of screwing up at the worst times in ways that often result in massive injury to herself.

Power Points

Background: A generic Deadpool type teen hero template.

This build is less a build of Deadpool and more a build of a crazed fourth wall breaking chaotic character inspired by Deadpool.

I had a bit of fun with this one, especially the Variable power. It basically functions as a GM plot device, giving DP-chan a means to just get into a scene or do something convenient to keep the ball rolling. It can also be a rule of cool thing, being used to do something stupid and entertaining.

Genre Savvy is basically a combination of meta knowledge about the Universe and characters within as well as knowledge of tropes. It's used with Well Informed instead of investigation.

Other than that the build is pretty straight forward, being a mixed attacker tank with high levels of Regen.

I hope you're talking just about the MCU, because otherwise you're so wrong. The entire point of Clint us that he's just a guy with bow and arrows, who is so insanely good tha he can take down the likes of Iron Man with it.

Im with wood here even in the MCU Clint has a purpose. hes the humanity of the group. he reminds the demigods and super soldiers and assassins and super geniuses in armor that stride the world like titans to be mindful of where theyre stepping,

like he said to wanda in AOU "The city is flying. We're fighting an army of robots. And I have a bow and arrow. None of this makes sense. But Im going back out there because its my job. Doesn't matter what you did, or what you were. If you go out there, you fight, and you fight to kill. Stay in here, you're good. I'll send your brother to come find you. But if you step out that door, you are an Avenger."

he reminds someone who fundamentally is the most powerful person in the battle that hes fighting with basically sticks and stones compared to her but he does it anyways,
Dr. Silverback has wryly observed that this is like trying to teach lolcats about Shakespeare

Showdown at the Litterbox

like he said to wanda in AOU "The city is flying. We're fighting an army of robots. And I have a bow and arrow. None of this makes sense. But Im going back out there because its my job. Doesn't matter what you did, or what you were. If you go out there, you fight, and you fight to kill. Stay in here, you're good. I'll send your brother to come find you. But if you step out that door, you are an Avenger."

he reminds someone who fundamentally is the most powerful person in the battle that hes fighting with basically sticks and stones compared to her but he does it anyways,
I wasn't able to follow the MCU past Avengers as they were coming out and by the time I could there was such a long backlog that I haven't tried to catch up again. To me he seemed kinda superfluous given that Black Widow could fill the role of Token normal and contribute in an interesting way the others couldn't despite their godlike power where as he was just the normal who tried to do normal fighting despite being completely outclassed and still not using better options. I'm a fan of Martial Arts characters but still the Bow And Arrow hero archetype (still confused how that gets multiple people with the schtick) just seems kinda ridiculous to me outside a fantasy setting which either has a lower setting or has the archer be magical in some way.

I might go comic book here, not movies, so bear with me a bit.
If we go a bit too much into the details a great numbers of heroes and villains simply falls apart.
How can Daredevil fight if he has enhanced senses? For him even the tiniest impact should feel like being hit by a top-level pugilist.
Why is Captain America so stupid to fight a war with just a shield? (seriously the Suicidal Tendecies even wrote a song about it)
What good is Hulk to the Avengers? He's just big and strong, Thor can fly as well.
Why a super-agile fighter like Black Widow weight herself down with massive wrist mounted stun-guns? (This was into the Max imprint version of Black Widow)
And so on ab nausea.

The entire point of many characters is what they provide outside of power and costumes. For Hawkeye, at least comic-book Hawkeye, his biggest contribution is being the Lancer. Ever since the days of Cap's Cooky Quartet, Clint was the guy who had the balls to look gods, monsters and living legends straight in the eyes and tell them to shut the fuck up. He was the guy who knew he could die at the drop of a hat, so he never allowed himself or anyone else to screw it. Thor, Hulk or Iron Man can charge into battle with little concern, but people like Clint must think before they act and he makes it look effortless.
Also (and most importantly) Hawkeye cheats like none else in the business. I just can't do proper justice, so just look at it.

Speaking of the MCU version, Clint go his first comeuppance in Age of Ultron, when we got introduced to his family. Throughout the entire movie it becomes clear that he's the only Avenger who got through Scarlet Witch's manipulations almost unscattered because he had something real and immediate to focus on (also after having Loki fucking up his brain he was kind of ready for it). While Natasha fills the role of the "badass normal" in many ways, she has too much baggage to remain sane character for prolonged period of times. Clint and his family adopted her (the kids call her "auntie Nat") becoming her one link to sanity. Based on the trailers of her solo movie, After Civil War, when she was unable to get in touch with Clint, Natasha went back to her biological family in Russia, trying to get the same kind of stability.
"You're right. Sorry. Holy shit," I breathed, "heckhounds.”

Notes
A new unit added to the the Chinese Mobile tower defense style game Arknights. Honestly I'm not overly familiar with the game, however I did discover her character while browsing image sites and found cute images of her hanging out with penguins and decided to make a build. In her original game she's a new 6star operative who focuses on support and summons. Her stats are generally average however her drones act as a means to increase her DPS while also buffing her and allowing her to control the approach of enemies, something very important for Tower Defense style games. She's weaker at low levels, as her drones are less effective than standard combat units while also using up Deployment Points, but as she's leveled up the stacking bonuses make her very power and a viable pick despite being very expensive.

In terms of the build, she's basically a weak human scientist, not an inventor but a researcher who happens to have some useful combat tools. Her abilities are rather low, though I gave her a few ranks in stamina since she's a field operative who explores some rather harsh conditions. She is given the Improvised Tools advantage due to some of her non-combat skills allowing more efficient item production, lowering costs and improving development. There's not really an advantage that really matches that so I went with Improvised Tools, as a her being able McGuyver tools and research equipment up due to the lack of supplies one would find in the Arctic Circle.

Arctic Explorer is more fluff than anything, as there isn't really such terrains in the game, at least not ones that give bonuses or have penalties that she's immune to. Very specialized and unlikely to ever really come up but I felt it was worth it. Her Mobile Turret is actually the tripod and box she caries with her, placing it down and using it to fire blasts of energy. A neat little detail in her attack animations, and one that I built as her having no personal ranged attack skill as it's the device doing the aiming.

Probably the biggest thing about the build, the massive Summon. Multiple minions and heroic summons tend to break the game so I tried a bit to mitigate that a bit. The summons are minions so are easy to take down, are defense shifted so will likely be destroyed if anything hits them, and can only be summoned one at a time as I didn't add the Hoard summon modifier which tends to be part and parcel with multiple minions. A flaw to her summon from her original game that could be employed as a complication is that her summons become dismissed on using a powerful attack (Normally just using plain range damage) and if destroyed can't be resummoned or dismissed. The latter limitation being important in Arknights as it would make it harder to deploy more units as they keep taking up the space.

Interesting stuff! I've no familiarity with the sources you're using in most of these cases, but your use of effects is always interesting. A Drone-Summoner is definitely pretty unique (I was thinking she was summoning Penguins, which would be even MORE awesome.

I missed your Arachne build, somehow- it's definitely nigh-impossible to build a solo hero as versatile as Spider-Man into a smaller points-value- anyone with that much experience and that variety in powers is going to be worth a LOT.

Hawkeye hung on to the trick arrows when Green Arrow went all grim dark and switched to broadheads in the 90s. They're more "net arrow" than "boxing glove arrow", but there's a great issue of his Matt Fraction series where he demonstrates the use of eight or ten of them to his protege, Hawkeye.

Notes:
A Black Widow style teen hero build.

As usual a good skill monkey is a bit expensive, leaving very little in the bank for interesting add-ons to the build. Insert joke about Kenson's revenge on Batman here. Viper is, of course, a spy and so needs quite a few skills to go about her primary job of infiltration and information gathering, which is something that doesn't really have much mechanical support outside of a couple skills and advantages. At least not without an expensive power. A limited concealment for sneaking, Grab-based Toughness resisted Mind Reading for Interrogation, Morph for disguises, Limited Remote sensing for planting bugs, the list goes on. Instead I kept it a bit more simple with the Variable power, as contradictory as that sounds. A Slow Variable that normally just adds ranks of Equipment, basically a load out pack that is suited to each mission, or in a pinch could be used to make a simple device.

She isn't an overly well rounded skill monkey, focusing on the more espionage related skills such as investigation, sneaking, and the social skills. She is also a combatant, if a bit limited in her approach. I decided to put a bit more of a spin into this, with a unique sort of combat style rather than just giving her enough accuracy to reach PL and calling it a day. She's focuses on trips and staying low to the ground, doing quick debilitating strikes from hard to avoid angles and finishing her vulnerable victims off with a precise strike to a vulnerable area, playing into her namesake.

Spies are a concept I like for a hero character, a morally ambiguous profession that focuses less on combat power but focuses on less direct problems that can't be solved by punching it in the face, and often only get worse by doing so.
