- Accident: Maureen's powers tend to react to her emotional state, and given that she is very easy to scare or surprise, this means that she has the potential to cause major damage to her surroundings if she decides to go out for a stroll.
- Anti-Villain: Despite generally behaving like a villain, Maureen really can't be considered as such due to the fact that she really is just an emotionally scarred and confused young woman.
- Dark and Troubled Past: Maureen's sickly mother died not even a handful of seconds after her stepfather decided that he wanted nothing further to do with either of them. Both of those events transpired a few years prior to the Big Bang on Christmas Eve of all nights.
- Motivation: Acceptance: This is really all Maureen desires in life, to be both accepted and welcomed by a loving family as one of their own.
