-Yes, the largest rodent of all time could actually reach the size of a HIPPO, being a distant relative of the modern Pacarana. These are thought to have weighed around a ton, and are a true sign to how weird evolution can be- where animals that are mere inches long can over time evolve into true giants. They're only known from a skull, so a lot is unknown about these creatures, but the gigantic teeth may have been used for defense against Saber-Toothed Cats and Terror Birds.
Re: Jab's Animal Builds (Beavers! Capybara! Giant Rodents!)
What an Unusual Size.
So these things flourished between 2 million and 10,000 years ago, approx. Means we can justify rat hunts in our Hyborian or Valusian age games.

-This is the sucker seen in The Princess Bride, possibly the greatest movie of all time. Basically a Giant Rat, an R.O.U.S. is big and strong compared to most any rodent, easily able to tackle and knock over a human male (even an experienced dashing swordsman/pirate) if it gets the jump on it. Once they're armed with a sword or something, the Rodent is basically screwed, but at PL 4.5, they can be pretty scary to an unaware human being with no powers.

Ah, yes. I've run into a few of those in my day. More frequently, though, I've run into the Angry kind.

And PS, I knew I'd get Princess Bride remarks the second I posted the Giant Pacarana, so I intentionally withheld the R.O.U.S. build until I'd posted it .

Rabbits & Hares
RABBITS & HARES (Order- Lagomorpha):
-Lagomorphs are highly-similar to Rodents in numerous ways, especially the small size and their teeth (the two share common ancestors). Famous for their ability to breed with great rapidity, their speed, and their ears, this Order is common throughout most of the world. Rabbits & Hares are still hunted heavily for their meat, but their ability to procreate is so staggering that many of the species are still at the level of "Urban Pests"- here in Edmonton, you'll see a rabbit just about every day. The order isn't very diverse, and most of the animals look the same.
-The differences between Rabbits & Hares are pretty minor- Rabbit bunnies are born blind and hairless, whereas Hares give birth to sighted, furred children. Hares are generally larger, thinner and more athletic. Hares have not been domesticated, nor do they gather in groups and burrow underground. There's also the Pika family, with their much shorter ears, and tinier size (none weigh more than a pound).
-Rabbits are popular animals, owing to cuteness and the ears and junk- easily-recognizable, they make an ideal animal for cartoons- Walt Disney's first creation, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, was a huge hit (when he was fired from the animation company that produced the cartoons, he simply swapped the rabbit ears with mouse ones to make Mickey Mouse), and Bugs Bunny took inspiration from him. We would also see Roger Rabbit, The March Hare (the phrase "mad as a March Hare" comes from the images of hares fighting during their March breeding season), and of course Watership Down, a very dark, bloody picture that features the kind of stuff that you'd only show to children if you wanted to SCARE THEM SHITLESS, FOREVER.
Re: Jab's Animal Builds (Beavers! Capybara! Giant Rodents!)
The rabbit has a charming face:
Its private life is a disgrace.
I really dare not name to you
The awful things that rabbits do;
Things that your paper never prints--
You only mention them in hints.
The rest is kind of classist, so I won't repeat it here.
