You know who I am? So, you know there's only two ways for you if you stay. Hospital or the morgue.

IF you stay. - Bronze Tiger
I find that to be a particularly awesome look for him too.

Build Comments: Ah, Crossbones, long time henchman for the Red Skull. He's another guy that gives Cap a lot of trouble but doesn't really do well in other situations in his Marvel U history. Still, anyone that gives Cap a good fight has to have to skills and I felt like I made him a good street-level challenge.

Secret Origins: Young Brock Rumlow led the Savage Crims gang on New York's lower east side. After he brutalized fifteen year old Rachel Leighton, two of her brothers assaulted Brock, and the elder brother was killed. Rumlow fled, entering Taskmaster's school for criminals. Within three years, he became an instructor there under the name Bingo Brock.

As a mercenary, Rumlow enlisted with Albert Malik, the communist Red Skull, in Algeria, serving him under the name Frag until he was sent to invade Arnim Zola's Switzerland chateau. Ultimately the only team member to survive the assault, Rumlow there met and impressed the original Nazi Red Skull, Johann Schmidt; this Skull accepted Brock's services, code-naming him Crossbones.

The Story so Far: Crossbones has been a loyal ally of the Red Skull for years and has gone up against Captain America several times, in addition to coming into conflict with superheroes all over the globe.

Characterization: Brock is the definition of a thug. He’s violent and has little no regard for human life and is completely content to follow The Red Skull’s direction without question.

Friends and Foes: He is loyal to the Red Skull and is in a relationship with his daughter Sin. His main rival is Captain America, who he longs to kill.

Abilities -20 + Skills 31 (62 ranks) + Advantages 9 + Powers 116 + Defenses 5 = 141 / 141

Build Comments: You gotta love Arnim Zola, at least his look. What a great, crappy Silver Age design. It’s one of those that is so bad, but so iconic to us comic nerds that changing to something more modern almost seems…wrong.

Secret Origins: The frail, dwarfish Arnim Zola was born in 1930’s Switzerland where he became the world’s leading biochemist. In his ancestral castle, Zola happened upon mysterious papers brought by his ancestors in the Crusades. These documents originated from Deviants and contained secrets of genetic engineering that far surpassed even today’s level of technology. Zola used the secrets to become the world’s first public genetic engineer, perhaps preceded only by Nathaniel Essex, Mister Sinister.

The Story so Far: Needing funds to continue his research, Zola presented his first invention, the creation of device that would transfer someone’s essence to a cloned body, to Adolf Hitler, who agreed to become his patron. This device and partnership allowed Hitler to survive World War II as the Hate-Monger. Zola also used it on himself, not only allowing him to survive into modern times but to also replace his normally frail body with a stronger, android one.

Zola aided the Nazi scientist Baron Zemo in creating a series of androids which could expand from the size of a doll to over six feet tall. Talking with the Red Skull he presented him with a pill to use to place himself in suspended animation. Zola then presented Hitler with a completed cloned body to which he could transfer his mind before death. After Hitler walked out, Baron Strucker, a fugitive, entered the room. Strucker invited Zola to take part in the establishment of HYDRA. Since around 1944, Strucker would think of Zola in his ESP-box body - this would support that Zola had switched bodies at this point.

Hitler, according to a soldier who was with him the day his original body died, supposedly recommended Zola's process to Baron Zemo. "like your Führer, Zemo", he said, "you will become... a God... Zola will see to that". It appears that Zemo did not for some reason undergo the process.

The Red Skull has financed Zola's experiments since the end of World War II, allowing him to produce creations such as Primus and Doughboy - which would later help the Red Skull in his own schemes. Zola's association with the Red Skull led to their first fight against Captain America in the jungles of Central America following Captain America's encounter with Arnim Zola's creation Man-Fish. Captain America was captured, but he managed to escape.

He has continued to plague Captain America and the superhero community as a whole several times over the years.

He later escaped to a "Dimension Z", which he ruled and filled it with many of his creations. Eventually, Captain America found Zola hiding that alternate dimension, where time moved at an incredibly faster rate as compared to Earth, and Zola had built a massive fortress, dubbing his new land Zolandia. Zola was making a massive army of genetically altered soldiers with the intent of conquering Earth. In the initial assault, Cap rescued a genetically engineered infant boy.

In the decade stranded in Dimension Z, Cap raised the boy as his own son, Ian Rogers. The two took up with the peaceful Phrox, and eventually led a rebellion to stop Zola's forces, now commanded by Zola's daughter, Jet Black. One of his creations, Captain Zolandia, was a mutated clone of Captain America, he had his memories and tried to kill both Cap and Ian.

Ian was later captured by Zola, and brainwashed to accept Zola as his father again, but eventually broke out of his control, only to be shot by Sharon Carter. Eventually, Carter sacrificed herself to destroy Zola and his fortress, allowing Cap and a now reformed Jet to escape back to Earth.

Zola was later revealed to be alive as he opened a portal in New York to lead an invasion from Dimension Z as a part of helping the Red Skull's newest plan.

Characterization: Zola is a true genius in the field of bio-genetics but has no morals about experimentation.

Friends and Foes: He has been ally of The Red Skull for years, and has run afoul of most of Schmidt’s greatest enemies, including Captain America and The Falcon.

Comments: One of my favorite DC jobbers, Baron Blitzkrieg. I almost made him PL9 since he’s gotten pwned by some of the best lower level heroes in the DCU, but in his prime, he was a challenge to the All-Star Squadron, so I’ll give him enough props to be PL10. Against a decent hero, he’s gonna go down without a whole lot of trouble.

Secret Origins: Baron Blitzkrieg was originally an especially vicious German army officer who was blinded when a concentration camp prisoner threw acid into his face. German scientists experimented on Blitzkrieg, giving him superhuman strength and the ability to fly.

The Story so Far: He fought against the Invaders and other Allied forces during WWII before he went underground after the death of Hitler. He lived a simple life for a while but when Captain America returned, he was contacted by The Red Skull to oppose him and he has been working as a supervillain since.

Characterization: The Baron is an arrogant opponent, despite his lack of success against his superheroic foes.

Friends and Foes: He is still loyal to the Nazi ideals and often allies himself with modern Nazi villains like The Red Skull and Overshadow.

Blitzkrieg is a favorite villain of mine as well, someone who should have been used a lot more, being essentially Nazi Superman dressed like Nazi Iron Man.

I could be mis-remembering, but I don't remember the Baron jobbing to too many guys outside his weight class. He was actually pretty powerful and dangerous, and I kind of liked the way hiz powers worked. Essentially, he was someone whose latent psychic potential was augmented by Nazi science, and could use those energies to give himself flight, strength, durability, speed, heat vision and enhanced senses around the level of Golden Age Superman.

His weakness was that he had kind of an Ultra-Boy style limit on how much energy he could feed certain abilities at once, so pushing one ability to Superman levels meant the rest would function at a lower level, if they worked at all. It was the main reason he wore armor, so that he wouldn't be vulnerable while using his laser vision or strength. But yeah, the Baron could hang with Golden Age Superman, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern, so he was definitely a decent threat.

I'd love to see him and Capt. Nazi reform some Nazi themed supervillain group, maybe with the Baron getting some new armor to help boost and regulate his energy levels, making him more of a top tier threat. The All-Star Squadron (with the unfortunate acronym of A-SS), Young All-Stars, JSA and Marvel Family all had some great Nazi villains.

The DC Heroes sourcebook World at War was great with Blitzkrieg writing All Star Squadron "opinions" on heroes.

"Nazi File:Mister America's greatest ability is unmatched mastery of the whip. "

"Blitzkrieg: And a squirrel's greatest ability is its unmatched mastery of finding nuts!"

We're probably just differing on the jobber definition. Abomination and The Champion of the Universe are powerful, but they're jobbers to me because they never seem to get a decent win against the big names or they lose to heroes that they shouldn't more often than not. The Baron had some good moments from the few times I saw him back in the 70's JSA books, but he ended up getting beat by Hourman and the last time I saw him, which was in the Batman: Widening Gyre arc, he lost to Tim Drake Robin. That might have been a legacy Baron that just found the armor, though, I can't completely recall.

I do like the Baron as a concept, though, and I like that plan for amping him up. I may have to play around with that.

Unarmed Attack +10 [Unarmed +10]
Ranged Attack +2
Throwing +5

DEFENSES:
Dodge +7 [DC17] Parry +8 [DC18]
Toughness +12 (+5 Impervious), Fortitude +11, Will +5

COMPLICATIONS:
Enemy: Captain America.
Patriotism: He is a strong believer in the ways of the Nazi Party.
Responsibility: To the Red Skull and the Nazi way.

Abilities 74 + Skills 11 (22 ranks) + Advantages 7 + Powers 26 + Defenses 7 = 125 / 125

Build Comments: The new Master Man has been getting a lot of run in the new Cap book and a bit of Fear Itself. He's a lower powered paragon that can usually give Cap a run for his money, but generally gets jobbed pretty well in the end just like his predecessor, the original Master Man.

Secret Origins: Max Lohmer was a young, thuggish Neo-Nazi when he was approached by The Red Skull. The Skull apparently enhanced Max Lohmer's body to where he had augmented strength and powers similar or identical to his great-uncle, the original Master Man.

The Story so Far: Max Lohmer led the criminal Neo-Nazi group Master Race but were opposed and eventually defeated by Captain America, Winter Soldier and The Falcon.

Max Lohmer allied himself with other super-powered Nazis, Uber Commandos, and came into conflict with the Invaders. Interestingly enough, Max appears to have a fascination with his Great-Uncle's widow Warrior Woman, who has maintained her youthful appearance.

Characterization: Max is a thuggish bully.

Friends and Foes: He is quite loyal to The Red Skull and the Nazi ideals. And after his dalliance with Warrior Woman, he has made his affections toward Sin known. Crossbones is not happy about that.

325 - Warrior Woman

Post by Thorpocalypse »

You know, it's been a while since we've done this but with the weather finally starting to act like spring, at least where I'm at, I'm getting that feeling of renewal. So it's time for us to renew our greatest J-Mart Tradition, LADIES' NIGHT! And we're starting with this new item that is part of this recent RED REICH run!

*Sigh* I know I'm wrong for feeling the way I do about her, but...

POWERS:

EQUIPMENT:
(5 pts)
Whip: Bludgeoning Strength-Based Damage 0, Disarming, Grabbing, Reach 2 (10 ft); 4 pts

DEFENSES:
Dodge +10 [DC20] Parry +10 [DC20]
Toughness +10, Fortitude +10, Will +6

COMPLICATIONS:
Mental Instability: The suspended animation and revival process did not go smoothly so she is prone to bouts of mental instability.
Patriotism: She is a strong follower of the Nazi way.
Relationships: She was betrothed to the original Master Man and is being courted by the current Master Man. She didn’t/doesn’t like either one, but she pairs with them out of duty.

Abilities 92 + Skills 22 (44 ranks) + Advantages 12 + Powers 10 + Defenses 9 = 145 / 145

Build Comments: Warrior Woman is near and dear to my heart because I actually had the comic in this pic and it was one of the 250+ lost in the flooding of my storage unit in the apartment I had in 1995. Sad event, but I think I’ve made up for it over the past few years with my 10-12 books (at least) a month.

Anyway, Julia was accidentally granted abilities similar to Captain America and slugged it out with The Invaders back in the day. She was put into suspended animation and is now back to work with the new Red Skull and Master Man.

Secret Origins: Julia's early life has yet to be revealed. She was a spy during the Nazi regime in World War II. She caught and hypnotized an American, William Joseph White, who she believed held secrets to the Super-Soldier formula that transformed Captain America. White wrote comics which noted a super soldier serum and she believed he had received secret and key information from his long-time friend Dr. Anderson, a collaborator on Operation Rebirth. Despite objections from her superiors, Koenig decided to try what she learned of the formula on herself. An explosion took place during the process, and Julia was transformed into a female version of a Super Soldier.

The Story so Far: Hitler was so impressed with this new "Krieger Frau" that he wanted her to marry his Master Man. Against her better judgment (and standards) she agreed only because it was Hitler's wish. As part of the celebration in Berlin, Hitler wanted to execute the Invaders, who had been recently captured by Warrior Woman and Master Man. The final vows were never spoken, as reserve members of the Invaders rescued their teammates.

Later, against her will, she was among the Axis supervillains who were organized by the mind-controlling Lady Lotus in her Super-Axis. She was taken into custody with the rest of the team when defeated by the Invaders.

Julia was put into a form of cryonic suspension after the war, not being recovered until after the German reunification. A man who called himself "Herr Nacht" had fallen in love with her image, and had re-created the strength formula and taken it himself, becoming a self-proclaimed new Master Man. Unfortunately, it seems her long freeze had given Warrior Woman some brain damage, complicating her recovery. Herr Nacht attempted to use the blood of the original Human Torch to try to heal her, but the involvement of the Sub-Mariner, Captain America, Union Jack, and an elderly Jacqueline Crichton prevented that. However, the original Master Man had also been awakened and, tired of her flirtations with Nacht and her constant berating him, took his revenge by blowing up the building they were in. Master Man was later seen alive although reverted to his true age.

Warrior Woman also later re-appeared as a member of Axis Mundi. She has also acquired the affection and attention of the new Master Man.

Characterization: Warrior Woman is a skilled fighter and loyal Nazi idealist.

Friends and Foes: She remains devoted to the Nazi cause and has sided with The Red Skull in his currently battle with Overshadow for the right to lead the new Reich.

Abilities 62 + Skills 23 (46 ranks) + Advantages 20 + Powers 0 + Defenses 13 = 118 / 118

Build Comments: I didn’t hate Sin as The Red Skull as much as I thought I would, but I much prefer her as his psychotic number 2-ish. It would be nice if they gave her a run as a featured villain again without Skull-ing her out.

Secret Origins: Sinthea "Sin" Shmidt is the daughter of the Red Skull. Seeking a male heir, the Red Skull fathered a daughter with a washerwoman. The woman died in childbirth, and the Red Skull almost killed the child, angry that it was a girl not a boy he expected. One of his followers, Susan Scarbo, convinced him not to, telling him she would raise the girl herself as her nanny. The Skull agreed and left the girl, named Sinthea, to be raised by Scarbo, who indoctrinated her with the Skull's views as she grew up. The Skull returned when Sinthea was a child and put her in a special machine that accelerated her aging process until she was an adult and gave her superhuman powers.

The Story so Far: After the completion of the process, Sinthea became the leader of a group called the Sisters of Sin as Mother Superior. The sisters were young orphan girls who underwent a similar process after being indoctrinated by Sinthea. The Sisters of Sin would have many run-ins with the Red Skull's nemesis Captain America before being de-aged when they entered a chamber designed to reverse the Skull's aging process to assault Captain America - who had suffered through the Skull's process and had become elderly - while he was using it to return himself to normal, and they were reverted to children at the same time Captain America was restored.

Later, Scarbo, now calling herself Mother Night, reformed the Sisters of Sin and became their new leader, while the de-aged Sinthea took the name Sister Sin.

Sinthea was later captured by S.H.I.E.L.D. and taken to their reeducation facility, where they attempted to reprogram her to be a "normal" American girl and gave her false memories to that effect. Later, the Red Skull was assassinated by the Winter Soldier under the orders of Aleksander Lukin, and one of the Skull's henchmen, Crossbones, broke into the facility and kidnapped Sinthea. Crossbones tortured Sinthea to break S.H.I.E.L.D's conditioning. After he succeeded, she entered into a relationship with him, and - with Sinthea now calling herself simply Sin - the two went on a killing spree. They later reunited with the Skull, now living inside the mind of General Lukin.

As the first part of the Skull's Master Plan, Sin disguised herself as a nurse after the Civil War while Crossbones sniped Captain America at the courthouse, even though it meant obeying her father and abandoning Crossbones to his fate. Sin then revealed to Sharon Carter that she was the one who had killed Cap.

While the Red Skull had control over Steve Rogers' body, Sin fought alongside Crossbones against the Avengers' forces. After Steve Rogers eventually regained control of his body, Sin was knocked unconscious. After the battle, and due to a subsequent explosion, Sin's face was left severely disfigured and scarred, leaving her a "red skull" appearance. Upon hearing the news, Norman Osborn quipped, 'Like father like daughter'.

Sin was institutionalized at the Kurtzburg Institute for the Criminally Insane People. During a breakout/riot, she was approached by Helmut Zemo, who asks her to tell him how to kill Bucky Barnes. More recently, Sin was liberated from the asylum by Master Man who has proclaimed both his allegiance and affection to Sinthea as the new Red Skull: the heir to her (believed deceased) father's legacy.

After taking the Black Widow and Sam Wilson hostage, Sin sent one of her henchmen to disrupt the trial of Captain America and sent a demand - Bucky Barnes. After escaping with help from the manipulative Doctor Faustus, James confronted Sin and Master Man and brashly attempted to foil her escape. After the escape Sin aligned herself once more with Baron Zemo to aid her to retrieve the Book of the Skull. Zemo rebuked her offer for a permanent alliance. However, the Baron did explain to her the origin of the Hammer of Skadi. Betraying Zemo, Sin went on her own to retrieve the Hammer for herself.

Sin and her henchmen went to the stronghold of the Thule society housing the Hammer. After being deemed worthy, Sin went to revive her new master, the Serpent. She then lead an assault on Washington D.C., during which, she almost killed Bucky Barnes. Skadi soon reached New York, where she faced off against Steve Rogers, who had returned as Captain America. There, she summoned the Serpent. When the Avengers tried to take him down he broke Rogers' shield. With the Serpent, she knocked out the team and they left. In Oklahoma where Asgard had been restored, Sin, the Worthy and the Serpent battled the Mighty Thor and Captain America. Sin was taken down by Rogers, who wielded the mystic Mjolnir. After the Serpent is killed by Thor, Sin's hammer is taken from her by Odin, as well as the hammers of the other Worthy. Sin was captured and taken a maximum security SHIELD holding facility.

During her incarceration, she was given several rounds of plastic surgery to restore her face and months of therapy to try and give her a chance at a normal life but she was broken out by Crossbones and has rejoined him at her father’s side.

Characterization: Sin is very mentally unstable with a massive inferiority complex that she tries to hide.

Friends and Foes: She has been an off and on relationship with Crossbones and still feels the need to prove herself to her father, The Red Skull, so continues to assist him with his plans.

You know I love Warrior Woman, too, Thorp!

While I love her classic look, didn't WW sport a short blonde Doo wearing a red uniform and also a Wonder Woman-ish grey costume as well?

I think that was Marvel's Hippolyta who also went by Warrior Woman for a while as well. Another little FU to DC from Marvel, much like Wonder Man was when he was introduced. :)

And an incarnation of my text post ALSO went by Warrior Woman for a while. So glad Marvel made sure that wasn't confusing or anything.

Build Comments: So as noted above in my reply to Goldar, Marvel loves keeping things confusing so this build is not based on the Power Princess that was part of the original Power Princess from the Squadron Supreme. Nor is the Power Princess from the original Squadron Sinister. Nor is she the Power Princess from the Utlimate Universe. Nor is she the Power Princess that originally showed up during Infinity as one of the Earths that was destroyed during the Incursion events. Nor is she the Power Princess from the fan favorite Supreme Power setting. She's also not the Power Princess from the Earth that latest Hyperion came from during the Incursion events.

This is a build based on yet another Power Princess from another Earth with a Squadron Sinister that was destroyed during the Incursion events. And no, I am not making all this up. If you look at the Wiki, there's at least 2-3 that have showed up that I am leaving out.

I basically built her as I was looking for some good female challengers for Wonder Woman that I could throw into my combined setting and I figured since Power Princess was originally a Diana expy when she was created, throwing one of the evil versions of her at DC's favorite Amazon would be fun. She's a shade below Diana in overall power but should give her a good fight if I let them go at it. She's somewhere between the original incarnation and the Ultimate Universe Zarda who was able to do this:

Image

Secret Origins/The Story so Far: Not much is known about her early life other than Zarda was a member of Squadron Sinister of an alternate Earth. How she ended up on Earth-217 is unknown as well.

Characterization: Zarda ruled like a queen on her former Earth and has plans to do the same on this Earth.

Friends and Foes: She is working to form her own Squadron Sinister and this has put her into conflict with Wonder Woman and the Avengers. She has a great enmity towards Wonder Woman and once she found out about the multiverse, she has made it a point to become “The” Zarda of all of existence.
