Abilities 72 + Skills 34 (68 ranks) + Advantages 30 + Powers 0 + Defenses 15 = 151 / 151

Build Comments: Because they were cheap on the Marvel app, I downloaded and read the latest Hawkeye series starring Kate Bishop and I was SO glad I did. It was a really fun read. Kate moved to LA in the previous Hawkeye series and they picked it up from there with her adventures as a private investigator in LA, giving her a supporting case and a great rivalry with Madame Masque. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for some lighter comic fare.

Kate has come a long way since the Young Avengers, which I wish they would reboot for a limited series with the original group just for some nostalgia sake. Kate is also now the leader of the hysterical reboot of the West Coast Avengers, which I also highly recommend picking up. It’s worth it just for the banter between Gwenpool and Quentin Quire.

As a build, Kate’s a notch below her mentor but still an awesome archer and street level hero.

Secret Origins: Kate Bishop grew up as the youngest daughter of a rich Manhattanite family. Although her father Derek was an emotionally distant publishing magnate, Kate admired him, and tried to gain his attention and approval during her summer breaks from boarding school. Her mother Eleanor was estranged from her father and frequently absent on vacations until she died while on trip in Boulder, Colorado when Kate was still young. Kate has an older sister, Susan. They have a friendly but somewhat tense relationship, because Susan doesn't understand or share Kate's focus on helping others. From an early age, Kate was frequently lonely and became determined to rely only on herself. She developed a very independent, blunt, and stubborn personality.

The Story so Far: When she was still little, Kate secretly witnessed her father beating up another person late at night in his study. She quickly became disillusioned with Derek, and decided to further investigate his activities. She followed him to a meet-up with El Matador, and accidentally got herself caught briefly after Derek had left the location.

El Matador held her to ransom, but Kate managed to attempt an escape. When one of Matador's men was about to catch her, an arrow flew past him, distracting him and saving Kate. The Avengers had arrived to the scene, after the archer Hawkeye had kept an eye on el Matador for some time, and they defeated the villains. Kate was impressed by the Avengers, but specially Hawkeye, for being a regular human with no powers but only skill. With the recent disillusion from her father, Kate turned Hawkeye into her role model.

Kate also felt uncomfortable with her family's wealth and began trying to emulate her mother by spending time at soup kitchens and women's shelters.

At some point prior to her sister's wedding, Kate was sexually assaulted while walking in Central Park. The event initially left Kate traumatized and even more isolated. However, the ordeal eventually motivated her to learn several forms of combat fighting and self-defense. She quickly became proficient in swordplay, archery, and martial arts. She also met with a therapist during this time to work through some of her issues.

Kate first encountered the Young Avengers when they attempted to save her and two hundred other guests at her sister's wedding in St. Patrick's Cathedral. Unfortunately, the Young Avengers were only successful in starting a fire and becoming hostages themselves. It was Kate that saved them using one of Patriot's throwing stars. The Young Avengers were able, however, to escape the scene before the police arrived.

Kate and the Young Avengers had many adventures but eventually disbanded. Kate was later recruited as a partner of Clint Barton, the original Hawkeye, in his street-level crime-fighting in Brooklyn. Together, they took down a troupe of nefarious circus performers. Later, Kate helped Clint track down and rescue a girl who had been kidnapped. Before long, Kate had to drive their getaway car as they were pursued by angry mafia members. Kate saved herself, Clint, and the girl in the ultimate standoff against the mafia boss.

After Clint was kidnapped by Madame Masque in Madripoor, Kate saved him by disguising herself as him and helping steal a tape that had evidence on it of Clint killing Du Ke Feng, before being discovered and breaking them both out, with help from Maria Hill. The tape was destroyed in the conflict, but Clint revealed that it was actually fake and he was innocent. This started a long rivalry with Kate and Madame Masque.

After being part of a new version of the Younger Avengers and other adventures with Clint, Kate moved back to Los Angeles and set up her own detective agency, Hawkeye Investigations.

Characterization: Kate is a fiercely independent person with a strong desire to help others. Although Kate officially took on the mantle of "Hawkeye" when formerly given it by Captain America, her codename or lack thereof was a recurring theme or sometimes joke. Even though she has now embraced the Hawkeye name, since the return of Clint Barton as Hawkeye, a recurring joke has been the confusion and oddity of two active superheroes using the same codename concurrently.

Friends and Foes: She is closer to her former Young Avengers teammates. She also has a strong relationship with her mentor Hawkeye. She wants to honor the memory of her late mother and has a strained relationship with her father, Derek, who has consorted with and possibly is a supervillain.

She has a bitter rivalry with Madame Masque.

Sombra: Earth-T1

Post by Thorpocalypse »

Our last LADIES' NIGHT item for now is part of our Overwatch line!

Sombra: Katya Volskaya. Ha! You have no idea what it took for me to make this meeting happen. Relájate, I'm not going to kill you! I mean, I'm the one who set off the alarm. Okay, listen. I'm here to make a friend. I'll show you something I found. Tell me, what would happen if the people of Russia learned that their "defender against the omnics" was actually getting her tech from the enemy? What would that do to the future of Russia?
Volskaya: What do you want?
Sombra: The most powerful woman in Russia? Hah, I've always wanted a friend like that!

Trouble brewing…: She doesn't know that her double crossing of Talon has been uncovered.

Abilities 70 + Skills 46 (92 ranks) + Advantages 15 + Powers 49 + Defenses 15 = 195 / 195

Build Comments: I loves me some Sombra. Her intro movie was one of the best from a showcase of character abilities standpoint.

Secret Origins: As a young girl, Olivia Colomar had learned to hack after losing everything she had during the Omnic Crisis. Even though she was a child at the time, she started to manipulate and even blackmail people, noticing how they could be manipulated just as easily as computers could. Sooner or later, she was taken in by the Los Muertos gang for her technical prowess, helping them in rebuilding her country.

While growing up, her hacking skills continued to improve. Eventually, she stumbled on to what she concluded was a "global conspiracy" that united several organizations around the planet, including Overwatch. She began to investigate this "conspiracy"; that is until it noticed her. Panicked, she hastily wiped all trace of her existence, including her name and was forced into seclusion.

The Story so Far: She came back as "Sombra" some time after, augmented by hardware that integrated her talents into grafted cybernetics. She continued to pursue her passion and her mission, and her exploits earned the admiration of many, including terrorist organization Talon; even after joining them, she still hasn't abandoned her pursuit, and she continues to search for clues as to her new prey, regardless of who she works for.

Sombra teamed up with Reaper and Widowmaker to assassinate Katya Volskaya, using her technical prowess to open doors and disable turrets. After both Talon agents were cut off from their target, Sombra left it to herself to use her combat skills to knock out and evade the guards. After finally cornering Katya, Sombra reveals that she never planned to kill her, and instead showed her information about her making deals with the omnics to blackmail Katya. Realizing that she had no choice, Katya agreed to become Sombra's "friend". Delighted by this, Sombra retreated and informed Reaper that the mission had been a failure. After she left, Katya met with Zarya, in response to Sombra's blackmailing. What Chairwoman Volskaya wants Zarya to do is never said, but Zarya may already know - and she's eager to help keep her country's hero safe.

During the holidays, Sombra was seen at Calaveras, Dorado. McCree was also passed out at the same bar.

At one point, Alejandra saw her while she was in Dorado after she (Sombra) hacked into LumériCo and helped Zarya and Lynx Seventeen find her hiding place. Sombra's real name is revealed to be Olivia Colomar.

Characterization: Sombra is very deceptive and clever, using her expertise to her advantage at all times. She is very calculating when the circumstances require it, and is also unafraid to manipulate people to get what she wants, as shown in Infiltration where she lies to her allies about failing the mission and even blackmails Katya to her will.

In battle, Sombra comes off as cool-headed and unafraid, sometimes smug and cheeky, and slightly sarcastic. Even in the middle of a serious mission, she still shows herself as a rather playful and whimsical character.

Re: J-Mart: LADIES' NIGHT! - Black Swan, Kate Bishop, Sombra

Post by Jabroniville »

Sweet! More of your stuff!

Kate was SO AWESOME in Fraction's Hawkeye. Smug, annoying, a bit self-righteous, and fighting an obvious crush on Clint. She was hilarious, and was never made into a "Mary Sue" like often happens when the writers dig their new character.

Sombra has some REALLY interesting powers in Overwatch, and I like her character, if not her "Laura Matsuda Knock-Off" design :). I feel like the world of Overwatch could be explained so much more in some fun movies and comics... but it's almost openly and vocally just DONE as a thing, it seems. Everyone jokes about how far it's fallen from the public eye, and all my DeviantArt OW-themed groups are a ghost town.

Abilities 52 + Skills 16 (32 ranks) + Advantages 11 + Powers 168 + Defenses 11 = 258 / 258

Build Comments: Man, talk about your reversal of fortune. Nova went from a Spider-Man analogue, to throw in member of the New Warriors, to nowhere to all of a sudden one of the baddest men in the universe and you can actually buy the whole thing. How the hell did that happen??!?!?!? Great writing and a well-done crossover event, that’s how. Go fig.

This is Nova after the epic event that was Annihilation where he is the sole wielder of the Nova Force and has the Xandarian Worldmind in his head and uniform. With that, he was able to battle the Silver Surfer to a standstill and defeat Annihilus by freakin' ripping his insides out. This was after Annihilus had survived a blast from Galactus that like wiped out everything in 3 solar systems. Rich has been kickin' it.

He was "dead" for a good while so they could introduce Sam Alexander but of course, he got better. When I get the motivation, I’m going to add a little more onto his and the GLs bios since I think a good rivalry between the Nova Corps and the Lantern Corps would be fun stuff.

Secret Origins: Richard Rider, a student at the fictional Harry S. Truman High School in Hempstead, New York, was chosen at random by the alien Rhomann Dey, last surviving Nova Centurion of the planet Xandar's elite Nova Corps, to inherit his power and succeed him in the rank of Nova Prime following the destruction of his world by the intergalactic pirate Zorr. Having been mortally wounded in the battle that tore Xandar apart, Dey succeeds in tracking Zorr to Earth but is unable to defeat him due to the extent of his injuries. Near death, Dey chooses to transfer his power to an unsuspecting human on the planet below, praying that whomever he finds will take up his cause.

Rider gains the uniform and powers of a Centurion but little instruction on how to use these new powers. Overjoyed, Rider eagerly takes up the life of a superhero, fighting costumed supervillains in New York and gradually learning how to control his new abilities.

The Story so Far: Calling himself Nova, he makes arch-enemies out of street level thugs and cosmic level threats alike, fighting villains such as Condor and Powerhouse, Diamondhead, the Corruptor, and the Sphinx. Nova also teams with Spider-Man to capture Photon, who had killed Richard Rider's uncle, Ralph Rider, before ultimately choosing to reveal his secret identity to his family.

Rider eventually discovers Dey's Nova Prime Space Ship in orbit of earth, and Doctor Sun and the Sphinx lead Rider across the stars and to the newly reconstructed planet Xandar, the same world where his great powers originated. Engaged in bitter war against the Skrulls, the Xandarians form the Champions of Xandar, pressing Rider into service protecting their territories from attack. Nova and the Champions of Xandar fight alongside Rom the Space Knight to eventually defeat the Skrulls, though Xandar itself is left nearly defenseless in the aftermath. Tiring of life so far from home and hoping to rejoin his high school friends, Rider requests to be released from his duties on Xandar and return to Earth. When he is told he must relinquish his powers in order to do so, Rider reluctantly agrees.

Upon his return to earth, Rider lives a quiet life working as a cook at a fast food restaurant and barely making ends meet due to his disrupted education. He finds much of his prior life has passed him by and searches for a way to regain the powers he relinquished. He consults Reed Richards of the Fantastic Four to see if he could regain his powers. Unknown to him, during this period, the planet Xandar is utterly destroyed in an attack by the space pirate Nebula. In a bid to secure new super-powered allies, the superhero Night Thrasher breaks into S.H.I.E.L.D. computers and steals the data of Richards' examination of Rider and other super-powered individuals. Deducing that Rider's powers were not taken completely from him but instead lay dormant inside the young man's body, Night Thrasher convinces himself that a high-stress situation will be enough to reactivate Rider's powers and open him up to recruitment. To that end, Night Thrasher kidnapped Rider and drops him off the top of a multi-story building. The fall causes Rider's powers to reignite from within him, saving his life.

Although highly annoyed at Night Thrasher's cavalier attitude, Rider joins his superhero group, the New Warriors, and is involved in several adventurers with the team. During this time, Rider begins dating teammate Namorita and becomes close friends with Speedball.

Functioning for several years as an earth-bound superhero with no connection to the now defunct Nova Corps, Rider eventually encounters Garthan Saal, a former Nova Corps Centurion who has been driven insane by his quest to absorb the entirety of the Nova Force that powers all Nova Centurions. Having failed in his effort to exact revenge on Nebula for the destruction of his home planet, Saal instead turns his attention to restoring Xandar to its former glory. Stripping Rider of his powers for a second time, Saal transports Rider to Xandar again and forces him to assist in jump-starting the process that restores the dead planet to life. Rider also witnesses the reformation of the Nova Corps, which appoints him to the rank of Centurion Prime.
Assigned to Earth, Rider is confronted with the challenge of balancing dual lives as a member of both the Nova Corps as well as the New Warriors. Nova briefly travelled the US with the reformed New Warriors as part of a reality television show. After the first season of the show, however, Rider leaves the group for Xandar to report for duty alongside the entire Nova Corps, which has been fully mobilized to respond to an unknown threat. Xandar and the Nova Corps are swiftly decimated by a surprise attack by the Annihilation Wave, a force from the Negative Zone. As the only surviving centurion, Rider makes contact with the Xandarian Worldmind, a living supercomputer that is the regulator of the Nova Force and caretaker of the entire collective database of Xandarian civilization. Worldmind explains that there is no choice but to upload itself and the entire Nova Force into his body and mind. This act greatly enhances his already superhuman strength and durability as well as granting him control of the nearly limitless energies of the Nova Force.

During the Annihilation War, Rider takes command of the United Front, a loose collaboration of soldiers hailing from the worlds already under siege by Annihilus. In a nearly year-long campaign, Rider almost succeeds in pushing back the Wave's advance across the galaxy. When Annihilus utilizes the stolen power of his captive Galactus to destroy an entire planet, Rider switches tactics. Disbanding the United Front, he leads a small team deep into the Wave's conquered territory, intent on assassinating Annihilus himself. Forging alliances with the likes of Blastaar and the Galadorian Spaceknights along the way, Rider eventually engages Annihilus himself in personal combat, killing him and halting his wave of destruction.

After the Annihilation war, Rider began to proactively police the universe. When Worldmind insists Rider rest, he returns home to Earth. Angry that his pleas for help in the Annihilation War were ignored for the Civil War and feeling out of place on earth, Rider returns to space, where he has continued to have many adventures, reforming and disbanding a new Corps, helping to defeat the Phalanx in the Annihilaton: Conquest event and briefly becoming a member of the Secret Avengers before returning to space.

Characterization: Originally, Rider was cocky and humorous, and he frequently bantered in battle, a trait comparable to Peter Parker. However, after Annihilation and him getting his scar, his personality underwent a drastically dark change. But he sometimes still finds that light-hearted nature that has drawn so many to him as a leader.

Friends and Foes: He is good friends with Star-Lord and several other cosmic heroes. He and Hal Jordan have a long rivalry, but have a great respect for each other. His greatest foes are Thanos, Annihilus and the planet conquering Mongul.

COMPLICATIONS:
Big Shoes to Fill: Sam is constantly being compared to fellow Earthman Richard Rider, the greatest Nova Corpsman of all time.
Inexperienced: Just having recently being granted the Nova powers, he's not quite sure of what to do in a lot of situations or how exactly to use his new powers.
Relationships: Sam is close to his family and his best friends Miles Morales (Spider-Man) and Kamala Khan (Ms. Marvel).

Abilities 30 + Skills 9 (18 ranks) + Advantages 2 + Powers 109 + Defenses 11 = 161 / 161

Build Comments: Sam has been a pretty good success story for Marvel so far. He had some big shoes to fill with Richard Rider’s push for a few years there but he became a fan fave in short order, getting his own book, plus being in the Avengers, then The Champions and even getting an animated incarnation in Ultimate Spider-Man on Disney XD.

I’m not a huge fan, but he’s growing on me. I saw an article that he, Miles Morales and Kamala Khan could become the new Marvel Trinity and considering the success they’ve all had in their solo books and in their team ups, I could see it happening at least for a newer generation of comic fans.

Secret Origins: Sam Alexander is a fifteen-year-old living in Carefree, Arizona with his father, mother, and little sister. His father is always drunk and often talks about his supposed life as a Nova Centurion and shirks his duties as janitor at his son's school. Sam's mother is a Latina homemaker. When Sam comes home from school to find his father missing, Sam accidentally injures himself and wakes up in a hospital. There, Rocket Raccoon and Gamora reveal Sam's father really was in the Nova Corpsman. After putting on his father's helmet, Sam travels to the moon, meeting Uatu the Watcher, who reveals an invasion fleet of alien ships belonging to the Chitauri. Upon returning to Earth, Rocket Raccoon and Gamora train him and tell him to scout the fleet.

The Story so Far: Sometime later, Sam is on a mission to warn planets in the path of the Phoenix that it is coming toward them. He crashes on Earth, but is able to deliver the warning to the Avengers. After recovering, Nova joins the Avengers and the X-Men against Cyclops, who has become the Dark Phoenix. Thor asks Sam to join the Avengers, and Sam eventually accepts. Afterwards, he encounters the previous Nova's recurring enemy Diamondhead, but easily defeats him

During the events of "Infinity", Sam learns from his crush, Carrie, that she knows he is Nova. Shocked, he flies into the sky, but accidentally removes his helmet and lands in a coma. He wakes up to Justice and Speedball, who offer him a spot on the New Warriors. He next faces off against Kaldera, an agent of Proxima Midnight and defeats her in combat. Sam becomes cocky and prideful and begins to feel above the New Warriors and disregard his mother's rules. He gets into an argument with Carrie and gets mad at Justice and Speedball. He eventually speaks to Uatu who gives Sam some advice and he returns to Earth to agree to his mother's rules and joins the New Warriors.

During a day of training with Uatu at the Watcher's moon base at the start of the "Original Sin" storyline, Uatu reveals that Sam's father Jesse Alexander is alive. Sam leaves where he is happy with the information he just learned.

Sam later leaves the Avengers to join the Champions. The team heads to Lasibad, Sharzad to rescue a group of women and girls being attacked by terrorists.

Characterization: Sam is an energetic and heroic young man that is learning on the job how to be a hero.

Friends and Foes: He is close to his mother, father and sister and his Champions teammates, especially Spider-Man and Ms. Marvel.

Abilities 70 + Skills 32 (64 ranks) + Advantages 14 + Powers 75 + Defenses 18 = 209 / 209

Build Comments: So I got the itch to rework my Transformers movie-verse builds. I’m not doing all 80+ that have appeared and I haven’t forced myself to watch all of Age of Extinction or the Last Knight, so the builds will mostly be from the first 3 and Bumblebee.

Optimus Prime may be the main man in the Transformers franchise, but Bumblebee is the main scene stealer. And after his solo movie, you can make an argument that he’s closed that “main man” gap significantly. That was a pleasant surprise. I actually enjoyed it a lot.

He gets physical comedy, he’s the closest to the humans and man oh man, does he kick Decepticon ASS. His fights in the first three movies were more fun to watch (to me) than Optimus’ smackdowns on Megatron and others. And of course he showed out in his movie, beating 3 pretty tough Decepticons, even if he had a bit of plot armor on at times.

I was really struggling with his PL since I’m not sure he’s a PL12, but seeing as how he lays beatdowns on all the mook Decepticons and the ones that are closer to his level (Rampage, Barricade and others), PL12 on offense, PL11 on defense felt right for now.

Secret Origins: A scout under the command of Optimus Prime, B-127 was part of the final battle for Cybertron — a battle that ended with the Autobot position overrun by the Decepticons and necessitating a full-scale Autobot evacuation of Cybertron. As part of this evacuation, Prime tasked him with a reconnaissance mission to the distant planet of Earth—its location hidden from the Decepticons—in the hopes that the scout could establish a base for the Autobots to regroup and strike back.

The Story so Far: He has been on Earth ever since and has had many adventures.

Characterization: Bumblebee is one of Optimus Prime's most trusted lieutenants. Although he is not the strongest or most powerful of the Autobots, Bumblebee more than makes up for this with a bottomless well of luck, determination and bravery. He would gladly give his life to protect others and stop the Decepticons.

Badly damaged in battle, Bumblebee lost the ability to speak verbally, though he can still communicate over inter-Autobot frequencies (in a fashion that seems somewhat akin to instant messaging, a usable but more distant and less personal means of interaction).

Abilities 78 + Skills 40 (80 ranks) + Advantages 22 + Powers 104 + Defenses 23 = 267 / 267

Build Comments: Not much to say about Optimus. One of the greatest heroes ever in any genre. I still may bump him up to PL15 but I feel pretty good about this update.

Secret Origins: Optimus Prime and Megatron co-ruled Cybertron until Megatron began a war for control of the All Spark. Optimus formed the Autobots, a militia of civilian Transformers sworn to protect the All Spark. Optimus fought back, willing to doom Cybertron itself to deny Megatron the All Spark. His reasoning was that a new homeworld could be rebuilt with the All Spark once Megatron was no longer a threat. He entrusted Bumblebee with the task of distracting Megatron at Tyger Pax long enough for the All Spark to be sent into space.

The Story so Far: Bumblebee found the location of the All Spark on Earth and activated a homing beacon for his fellow Autobots. After arriving and scanning a Peterbilt truck, Optimus greeted Bumblebee’s “owner”, Sam Witwicky and his girlfriend, Mikaela Banes, introduced his men and explained why they had come to Earth. The Autobots did battle with Megatron and his Decepticons for the All Spark and emerged victorious. After working to forge a relationship with the US government, Optimus sent out a deep-space signal, inviting other Autobots to join them on Earth.

Characterization: Prime is a brave, powerful, wise and compassionate leader who puts his talent to use improving the universe around him. Optimus has a strong sense of justice and righteousness and has dedicated himself to the protection of all life, particularly the inhabitants of Earth.

Friends and Foes: Prime is revered by all the Autobots who rarely question his orders, no matter how dangerous the situation. He has formed with relationships with Sam Witwicky and has integral in the formation of the NEST teams that work to help the Autobots seek out and battle the Decepticons.

He has also joined with many of Earth’s heroes on occasion to assist them against Megatron and other global threats. He has become a strong ally of both The Avengers and Justice League

Vulnerable: The Cybertronians are vulnerable to Magnetic attacks, taking at extra degree of failure against them.
Weakness: The Cybertronians are susceptible to extreme cold, taking an extra degree of failure against cold attacks, as well as effects that can effect technology.

Abilities 66 + Skills 27 (54 ranks) + Advantages 14 + Powers 124 + Defenses 26 = 257 / 257

Build Comments: Man, Megatron was awesome in the first Transformers movie and got TOTALLY dicked over in the sequels. That was my biggest complaint about the series (amongst the many ;) ), but I’m not going to get into that here. I still have to force myself to see the 4th and 5th movies, if only for the dinobots.

I almost made Megatron a higher PL than Prime, not because I don’t like Prime or that I don’t think he’s the greatest, I just want the villain to be more of a challenge to the heroes. But at this level, Megs should be able to rumble with Superman and Thor types as well as multiple Autobots outside of Optimus, so I feel OK with his PL. If he doesn’t test well, he’ll go up a PL and Optimus will just have to earn a couple of extra HP to make their inevitable “boss fight” even.

Secret Origins: Megatron co-ruled Cybertron together with Optimus Prime, serving as Lord High Protector. Megatron and Optimus learned of an alien force coming to their planet for the All Spark, just as a mysterious artifact was unearthed. Megatron was gravely injured, but the artifact (containing the Fallen) awakened and heals him, swaying him with promises of power. Megatron soon desires power over the All Spark, and under the Fallen's influence, forms the Decepticons, sending the bulk of his soldiers in a craft, the Nemesis.

The Autobots attempt to hide the All Spark, but Megatron saw through the ruse and launched a full-scale attack, during which the All Spark was launched into space. Megatron almost caught up with the All Spark as it landed on Earth. In his reckless desire to possess it, Megatron pursues it right into Earth's atmosphere and falls into the icy waters, resulting in his being frozen in stasis lock. In the late 19th century, Captain Archibald Witwicky discovered the Decepticon during an Arctic expedition. At the turn of the 20th century, a crew of men later takes his body — dubbing him the "Ice-man" - and kept him in storage up until the present day, eventually relocating him to Hoover Dam in Nevada.

The Story so Far: Megatron was awakened during the Decepticons attack on Hoover Dam once they learned that the All Spark was being held there was well. He led the battle against Optimus Prime and the Autobots but was defeated when Sam Witwicky shoved the All Spark into his chest, killing him and destroying most of the All Spark.

He was revived by his loyal Decepticons and has led them through several other battles against The Autobots, as well as other foes, like The Avengers and Justice League. He, nor many of the Decepticons, have been seen in some time. However, SHIELD intelligence recently learned that the Decepticons, have been building up a new underground city somewhere in Europe and seem to be planning something big.

Characterization: Megatron is a ruthless leader and combatant and is obsessed with bringing back the glory of Cybertron here on Earth and ruling his robot brethren and the “pathetic humans that cover this planet like a plague of insects.” He has changed his leadership style in recent years to be more benevolent (or at least appear so), which has garnered him a group of Decepticon followers that serve him out of respect and not just fear as they did before.

Friends and Foes: His greatest foe is Optimus Prime, although each brother continues to try and sway the other to their way of thinking. His second in command, Starscream, shifts between loyal follower and sneaky insurgent.

Build Comments: Go ahead, admit it. You were skeptical like me. You questioned the validity of a Transformers movie back in the day. Then you saw Blackout transform and take out that army base. And like me you were immediately saying in your head “OK…I’m in”.

There’s not a lot movie moments that recall giving me “wow” moments but that was one of them and I’m not ashamed to admit it. Then the sequels happened and then…well…

We’ll always have Qatar… ;)

Secret Origins: Blackout flew into the airspace of US SOCCENT Forward Operations Base in Qatar and refused to identify himself, prompting base commander Colonel Sharp to dispatch two F-22 Raptors to escort the Decepticon into their base. One of the Raptors reported that Blackout had the registry number of 4500X on his vertical stabilizer, the number of the helicopter Blackout had scanned and destroyed three months earlier in Afghanistan.

Once landed, Blackout was surrounded by the soldiers stationed at the base and ordered to power down and disembark his crew, or deadly force would be used. Seeing no reason to hide himself any further, Blackout transformed under a hail of automatic weapons fire from the shocked humans. Activating his heavy machine guns and rocket launchers, Blackout made quick work of the soldiers closest to him, then unleashed a massive shock wave that killed the rest of the troops and shattered their vehicles and the windows of the operations control tower. Blackout made his way around the base, tossing tanks aside, crushing soldiers underfoot and blowing up aircraft. Eventually, he reached the operations bunker and tore off the roof to link up with their server and download its files in an attempt to find information on Project: Ice Man. Unfortunately, the base commander intervened, cutting the physical hard line of the server, severing Blackout's connection and thwarting the primary objective of his mission.

Characterization: The massive Blackout has been described as the "hound" of Megatron. In better days he was always to be found looming powerful and silent behind his leader's right shoulder. When given a target he hunts it down with fierce determination.

Friends and Foes: He is loyal to Megatron and has a strong hatred for the Autobots. He does not trust Starscream.

Oh yeah- the "G1 Transformation Sound Effect" being used was a mark-out moment for me, too, and then he wipes out that ENTIRE base. Sure, that movie loaded 900 unnecessary superfluous human characters (I remember them adding THREE hackers, including the smart cute girl one), and the robots were swirling masses of gears, but that one scene was awesome as hell.

Lol ! What kills me is that I actually preferred the effects and version from Agents of SHIELD (barring Cage not being one of my favourite actors..)

Quick question - and sorry if' I'm just pointing out a typo... is Optimus supposed to be from Earth T1 as well ?

Never feel bad about pointing out a typo. I need some editing most of the time. ;)

It's fixed. Thanks for the catch.
