Real Name: Clint Bronson (false identity supplied by Mr. Menagerie)
Height: 6'
Weight: Unknown
Hair: Dark Brown (starting to turn grey)
Eye Color: Brown

Complications:
Honor: Mr. Martello has a "warrior’s code", but it can leave him open to being manipulated.

Missing Memories: Mr. Martello woke up one day with no memory of his life before that moment, nor how he gained his abilities. Thus, he seeks to learn about himself and is willing to do almost anything to so.

Motivation ~Thrills: Mr. Martello seems to enjoy courting danger.

Relationships: Mr. Martello sees the other members of the Mister Mob as friends.

Background: The man who is better known as Mr. Martello woke up a few years ago with no memory of his life before than morning. For several days he wandered around New York City trying to learn about himself, along the way he somehow became acquainted with Mr. Menagerie personally. Mister Martello hasn't ever elaborated any further on the matter and neither has Mr. Menagerie, but somehow Mr. Martello feels he is indebted to the other man and now acts as his personal enforcer within the Mister Mob.

As the “new guy” of the group, Mr. Martello often is given the “crap work” that is typically given by established members, all of which he takes in stride recognizing that he needs to prove his commitment to the group. Though there are limits as to what he’ll endure, luckily they have not been reached yet.

The Misters Mob looks like a fun group of bad guys that you could center an entire story arc around.

I really like the Mister Mob. First thing that popped into my head was the Reservoir Dogs with a twinge of Usual Suspects (2 great movies).

The first of those was part of the inspiration for them, the other half being the Rogues. Outlandish & maybe kinda odd powers combined with "professional" crooks made for an interesting team concept I thought.

I must confess, I am genetically obligated to mancrush on Mister Twister as he is "played" by Walton Goggins.

Thank you. That is all.

Fair enough, Goggins is a good actor.

Also, good to "hear" from you again. Hopefully you'll be posting some builds at some point soon(?).

The Brimstone House

Post by Tattooedman »

The Brimstone House:

To most of the world the Brotherhood of Solomon is a private organization that is very similar to the Freemasons, though their membership requirements are much stricter and their yearly dues are astronomical; in short, it is simply another excuse for the rich and influential to gather together to drink some of the most expensive alcohols while brokering deals with one another.

Which is exactly what those who truly run the organization want the general masses to believe.

The Brotherhood of Solomon counts among its members a number of famous, wealthy, and influential members of society. Membership is passed on to descendants, while new members can gain entrance due to acquirement of wealth or influence, and while many accept the invitation of membership simply for the pleasures that the organization offers, others seek wealth and influence. In fact, the purpose of the Brotherhood of Solomon is to obtain and exert power through politics and economic influence. Since its foundation, the Brotherhood of Solomon has been involved in all manner of business and politics to further the agendas of the Brotherhood’s most powerful members.

However, unbeknownst to most members is the Brimstone House; the true power that controls the Brotherhood of Solomon. This secret group was formed by Marcus Knoble, each member possessing skills in magic who shared his thirst for power; for over a decade they became high ranking members of the Brotherhood as they carefully manipulate various people of influence for their own goals. This allowed Marcus to establish more control of the Brotherhood’s leadership for himself, expanding not only his influence and holdings but that of the organization’s as well.

All of Marcus’ planning came to an abrupt end however when his son, Marcus Knoble II, killed him and assumed his father’s place in the Brimstone House. Now fifteen years later the self-named Baron Twilight leads not only the Brotherhood of Solomon but the collection of misguided mages and mystics that comprise the membership of the Brimstone House.

Coool. Nice to see the Brimstone House return. By the way, I looked at Vanguard Academy and I realized, will Current have a distinctive bomber jacket and very familiar name?

Yep, I've been slowly reworking they're stuff. A liitle bit of throwback to how I'd originally built them with a bit of modernizing (as I first wrote the group up over a decade ago).

Nope no bomber jacket, but I'm pretty sure that the name will seem oddly familiar. :D

Well, I have Viscosity listed under Vanguard Academy & there will be a character named the Aurelius. Though the first is more a reference to her powers while second is used with Mich's permission.

Real Name: Marcus Knoble II
Height: 6’2”
Weight: Unknown
Hair: Black
Eye Color: Brown

Complicaitons:
Motivation ~Power: Baron Twilight seeks to eventually take over the world.

Power Loss: Baron Twilight loses access to his Shadow Magic Array when he is unable to speak & gesture.

Background: Marcus Knoble was an European alchemist in WWII, being one of the last few to truly practice the old art. Because of his skill, he was recruited into a gathering of mystics and scholars who were looking for ways to increase their own personal powerbase. They hunted across Europe for items of power to help them increase their status in the mystical community, often dealing with members of the Lodge until eventually the group discovered a set of books explaining the workings of a place the author called the Shadow Lands, and how a person could tap into its energies for their own use. The Baron soon proved to be the most gifted among the group with those works the books taught he and he used that power to take over the group until he was the unquestioned leader. After a few years the Baron had learned all he could from the books so he betrayed the group so that would be the only one to have that power.

A few years later Marcus came to America, establishing himself up as a mage of considerable power in the mystical community as well as building an impressive fortune. Eventually he was approached by the Brotherhood of Solomon, a private organization that catered to the rich and powerful. Amongst its membership, Marcus met several other mages who shared his thirst for power and together they formed a secondary group that they named the Brimstone House, then over a decade the members of the Brimstone House grew to become high ranking members of the Brotherhood, they even began to carefully enter into the mundane world by branching out into manipulating various people of influence, both political and economic.

Marcus Knoble II grew up knowing all the privilege his family’s wealth afforded them, however, he was neglected by his father following his mother’s suicide and was raised by the family housekeeper who abused Marcus for several years until he finally lashed out against her. From there he was sent to the best schools his father’s money could afford while secretly studying magic per his father’s order. Unfortunately for the elder Knoble, Marcus proved to be a prodigy at magic, mastering a level of spellcasting that others spent double the amount of the time he spent, and upon returning home after graduation he showed just how powerful a mage he’d become by killing his father and assuming his place in both the Brotherhood of Solomon and the Brimstone House.
In the years since then, Baron Twilight (a title his father had adopted and Marcus took as well) has led the Brimstone House in gathering more economic and political power in addition to an impressive amount of magical lore and artifacts.

Well, you'd be right to get nervous. ;)

They might not be major players in the WOF setting, but in the T-Verse they're a bigger faction.
