Background: The enchantress known as Tetra is the product of a union of two different families; one of Summoners, people who summon creatures to do their bidding, while the others were Fortunemancers, someone who is able to affect probabilities with their magic. As a result, she was taught to use both forms of magic and is thus more powerful than several of her peers, such as Alexis Reynolds. Tetra has long thought that she would do much better than her "family friend" Alexis’ uncle, Jacob, would in his work policing the supernatural, and has pushed herself further than many thought possible to be able to challenge him properly and win. At some point after finishing her studies Tetra met Mendron the Black Mage and he convinced her that she should use her magic to make her life more enjoyable for herself seeing as she was one of the more skilled spell casters of her generation.
Taking this ideal to heart Tetra began using her Fortune magic to aid her in obtaining an obscene amount of money from gambling, though when the young mage was confronted with violence over the possibility she was somehow cheating, she simply summoned a demon she called Azmuth to take care of her would be attackers. Then a few hours later Tetra was the owner of one of the largest casinos in Las Vegas and from there she built a following of admirers that enabled her to collect several mystic artifacts that increased her spell casting abilities. By this time Tetra was considering challenging the original Blackstone for his "title" but waited as she knew that Mendron was ready to take action against the man on his own and thought that she might be able to take advantage of that situation.
For the next few months Tetra waited, continuing to gather more influence and power through her followers when she learned of Mendron's gathering together other spell casters and decided that she should be part of that group, which came to be known as the Crimson Coven, and was able to convince Mendron that she would be an asset to him if she were a part of it. What Mendron kept hidden from the other members of the Crimson Coven was the fact that they were really summoning the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse instead of a set of powerful demons, but at the end of the confrontation with the first Blackstone and the Aurelius, the Crimson Coven were defeated, and the Horsemen prevented from fully manifesting on the Earthly plane. Tetra and Azmuth were able to keep their freedom due to the chaos of the original Blackstone being mortally injured while the Aurelius fought to save Alexis’ life.
Following that Tetra stayed inactive, only working through her followers while maintaining her contacts in the mystic circles of the world. Through those contacts Tetra learned that Alexis had lost the Obsidian Sapphire, the artifact her uncle had used to carry out his work (she was unaware that Mendron had shattered it during the fight, and that it was the cause of Alexis’ injuries and her uncles death), and decided that this was the opportunity for her to not only steal several spell books that had been in the care of Blackstone for several years but to take over his work.
It was during this incident that Alexis learned she still had access to the powers of the Obsidian Sapphire and was able to defeat Tetra and her servant Azmuth by banishing them to another realm for almost two years. Tetra has recently been freed from her forced exile by Count Drazer so he could add her to his gathering of foes of the Alliance, the Coalition. Feeling that she owed the man for her release, Tetra has agreed to his request for the moment and has also brought her demonic servant, Azmuth, with her.
