Ah, yes. The Scotman's Daughter, Flora. One of the neater parts of the final season.

Of course, even more incentive for Jab is that the fine lady pictured in his post? She has sisters. An army of sisters who look very much like her.

Relationship (Jaune Arc)- Pyrrha loves Jaune deeply, but is unable to say so.
Responsibility (Celebrity)- Pyrrah is a beloved celebrity figure, which often makes her uncomfortable or excessively-formal when dealing with others.
Power Loss (Aura)- Hunters & Huntresses may slowly lose power as their energy depletes. Their Scrolls keep them updated on their condition.
Responsibility (Must Spin Before Every Attack)- This is the most immutable law of the universe.

Total: Abilities: 76 / Skills: 38--19 / Advantages: 20 / Powers: 44 / Defenses: 12 (171)

BriarThrone's Notes:
Pyrrha is the sort of young woman who has promotional deals because of her outstanding ability. Before Beacon, she was on the box of Pumpkin Pete’s Marshmallow Flakes, which she enjoyed, even though the cereal was unhealthy. Likely the most skilled young Huntress around, and arguably one of the most knowledgeable as well, she loves teaching and training others, especially her crush Jaune Arc. She is a lonely young woman, because her ability, fame, and beauty make her unapproachable on a personal level.

She uses Miló and Akoúo̱, a shield and weapon combination. The weapon can change between a sword, a javelin, and a rifle, and even compared to others in this series, she has exceptionally fluid movements. She is strong, but is more noteworthy for being just extremely skilled.

Her Semblance can aid her in positioning her attacks or defenses, or even her opponent’s if they’re using metal, because she has the Polarity ability, controlling metal through magnetism. She usually uses it subtly, keeping it as a discrete ace in the hole.

SPOILER: During the Vytal Festival tournament, Pyrrha was deceived by an illusion, thinking that her opponent, Penny, had countless blades ready to strike, and Pyrrha lashed out with her Semblance, destroying the android Penny and initiating a sequence of events leading to the Fall of Beacon and Pyrrha’s own death in combat with Cinder Fall.

Jab's Notes: So this is the one who dies. She's also apparently the best fighter of the lot. Her name is inspired by Pyrrha, which was the name the hero Achilles took when he disguised himself as a woman to avoid going into the Trojan War (which was fated to kill him). Odysseus tricks him by showing him some shiny weapons. The idea of the Greatest Warrior Of All Time successfully disguising himself as a woman for years is somewhat amusing to me.

Ehhhhhh ... that Affliction looks too wiggly for me. I would just give her Subtle Enhanced Defenses versus metal.

Too wiggly, how? I went with that for a few reasons:

1) It's more interesting than just "Defenses".
2) Affliction is fun to mess around with.
3) I HATE "Enhanced Defenses"- it messes with Power Level and requires a lot of typing. Shields are a pain in the ass because of it :).
4) It's kind of an "Active" thing that she does, and it adds a little wrinkle to an otherwise pretty standard fighting style. It's low-end enough at DC 13 that many people could avert it, and I felt it would give them an active chance, versus just "she's got higher Defenses now, so roll higher".

statue345 wrote: Wed Nov 29, 2017 10:10 pm The "Nobody sells anything" part of aura would probably be better worded as "Shows no indication of harm until aura is broken", because they do actually sell when their aura is broken. Also Yang could maybe use an extra rank of Strength/Powerlifting.

Other then that they look perfect. Thank you for doing these even though you aren't a fan of the show.
Oh hey! A new commenter! Thanks for being here :).

Yeah, I left the wording as "Nobody Sells Anything" because it was amusing, but the Feature itself lists the actual effect, so I figured it was still good. Most of the fights I saw showcased people doing Spin-Fu Fighting until one of them arbitrarily fell over, so I thought it was funny to include it as an actual thing in their statline :).

I'll make the adjustment to Yang. And no problem- I'm more open to requests these days (I used to just blow people off, lol), and quite a few people seemed to be excited by the prospect of seeing some RWBY builds. Kreuzritter has a couple on the Roll Call forum, but I've yet to see any of the actual main characters, so I figured it would be an interesting challenge. It's easy enough for me to build superheroes whose stories I've read, but it's a REALLY tricky thing to gather together characters from a show I've never really watched, a fighting style I'm unfamiliar with, and powers I've only read about. The only problem is, that thing kind of requires someone like BriarThrone to do all the heavy lifting and notes.

Too wiggly, how? I went with that for a few reasons:
I can't really describe it better than that, but I suspect it comes down to taste -- I prefer the direct approach, and powers that are (almost) always on compared to ones that work some of the time depending on how well the player or NPC rolls*. Also, nobody ever seems to resist Pyrrha's messing with their aim, until she fights Cinder, who doesn't use metal weapons anyway.

(* This is also why I'd prefer to give Supes Perception Range Damage for heat vision instead of Ranged Damage.)

Jaune Arc = Joan of Arc
Pyrrha Nikos = Achilles

Don't think it made it to the thread, but it was in the section header when I sent the info to Jab.

Nora is Thor and Ren is Mulan.

Another fun fact: "Pyrrha Nikos" can be ham-handedly translated to mean "Victory at Great Cost." Considering what happened...

Total: Abilities: 56 / Skills: 36--18 / Advantages: 11 / Powers: 37 / Defenses: 11 (133)

BriarThrone's Notes:
-Left underdeveloped until a bit later in the series, Nora was introduced as the quirky, cheery, cute one who had the obvious-but-still-developing Thing for her best friend. Later, it was revealed that Nora was a homeless street urchin who befriended Ren in the city of Kuroyuri shortly before its fall to the Grimm. Besides being bubbly, goofy, enthusiastic, and requiring a ridiculous caloric intake, Nora is pretty much just a great soldier, confident in her friends’ abilities and following orders without hesitation. She is easily the most physically dominant of the Beacon students, sending multiple people flying with a single swing of her hammer.

Nora’s weapon is Magnhild, a giant hammer/grenade launcher, and she can ride the explosive force from it to launch herself into the air. She can also use it as a lightning rod to funnel electricity to herself, which her Semblance converts to increased strength. (Basically, Nora is the first place you look for gratuitous displays of physical power. I mean… she’s the Thor-alike. The fact that she’s adorable and shy around her crush makes the whole thing amazing.)

Jab's Notes: Combining "The Powerhouse" with "The Childish, Crazy One" is a pretty inspired choice, I'll admit. She's apparently a huge chatterbox and loses the point of her conversation much of the time. Her "Famous Crossdresser" comparison is Thor, who had to imitate Freyja at a forced wedding to a Jotun. How THOR, of ALL the Norse Gods, is able to successfully pass for a woman (much less a beautiful one) is an aspect of the story that's been left tragically untold.

Favorite Nora moment.

Team JNPR are completely sidetracked in an embarrassing way during a televised tournament, arguing over formation names in a private team meeting IN THE MIDDLE OF BATTLE. Their opponents interrupt to remind them that they're still supposed to be fighting.

Jaune, embarrassed, says "Nora, just... hit them with the hammer."

Nora grins evilly. "Got it."

Other team assumes terrified posture and facial expressions. "WHAT?!"

One swing later, JNPR wins by ring-out.
