I really love Mr. Garrison because of how he always becomes the opposite of what he is.

i mean he's clearly a closeted gay man at first, then becomes a woman because I guess in his mind gay man = straight woman, and the becomes a lesbian because....I dunno.....before becoming a man again because....I dunno.

and then also just how intolerant he is. The whole "freak egg" thing and then flip flopping on the Richard Dawkins thing. It's great.

Then you can turn it around and he's actually pretty insightful at times.

and the man knows his stuff on Succubi

SJP was cute back in the day, but cuteness doesn't really last that often.

I don't think she's ugly but she's not really my thing either.

-During the great Coon trilogy of episodes, The Great Old One Cthulhu is unleashed when BP drills a hole in the gulf and accidentally breaches the dimensional boundaries between our world and that of the other Old Ones. Seeking to enslave humanity while BP only offers weak apologies ("sorrryyyy..."), he is nonetheless recruited by Cartman, in his disguise as The Coon, engaging in a series of heartwarming adventures parodying both Looney Toons (Cartman "kneads" Cthulhu's back and rests in a fold of flesh, much to its pleasure) and My Neighbor Totoro, though neither of those things featured executing Justin Bieber or burning down synagogues. Cthulhu is eventually driven back by Mind-Berry Crunch, who reveals powers of his own.

-Cthulhu is incredibly powerful and largely immortal; the most powerful being in the universe except for Mint-Berry Crunch. The character in Lovecraftian Mythos can drive people to madness, but he doesn't do this on South Park.

I wonder if part of the SJP backlash is due to Sex in the City and how many people are just sick of it. Myself, I don't find her hideous, but someone with average looks shouldn't be haled for being a sex symbol. Then again, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. As I've said before, I though Jennifer Aniston was the least attractive girl on Friends, yet she became the biggest sexy symbol of the show.

One thing I will give the South Park guys is that even though they aren't really my kind of humor, I have gone "Okay, I get it" when it comes to what they're going after. At least I can see the point of what they're satirizing a lot of the time. Compare with Family Guy, where it basically all just comes off as being incredibly mean-spirited and shallow, to the extent that even when they HAVE a point, it's buried beneath a lot of ugly. Plus, Family Guy will always, ALWAYS go for the low hanging fruit, even if it's got little basis in reality. Disney has PLENTY of things you can make fun of them about, but going "Walt Disney was an anti-Semite despite the lack of real evidence for it and it largely being considered hearsay at this point", is dumb.

-One of the random background kids in Coon & Friends, Mint-Berry Crunch seems to be the most ridiculous, sporting a half-mask of pink fabric, and boasting of a "powerful CRUNCH!", resembling a cereal more than a superhero. He's one of the "Background Kids" in numerous episodes before that- appearing back as far as the late '90s. We eventually learn that he's the brother of Henrietta of the Goth Kids... and has incredible super-powers. Using the powers of Mint and Berry, he closes the rift between Earth & R'Lyeh, defeats Cthulhu, and imprisons Cartman, flying off with Cthulhu into the portal. He has reappeared in a few background scenes since then, but hasn't gotten up to much- he's really just an absurd joke thrown in at the last second.

-Mint-Berry Crunch is the most powerful being in the South Park universe, having easily defeated Cthulhu and flown off with him.

So next up are the builds for The Coon and his rivals, Coon & Friends. Mostly set up to be what they'd be as real super-heroes, with a few notes about the video game's additional powers. And UGH- this is a reminder to me of just how much I HATE building "Alternate Versions" of characters. Like "Same Character... PLUS some stuff!". So much mall, checking stuff again, and it's ultimately BORING and a total slog at the same time! This is why I have a "No What If? characters" policy for my thread. Only time I never do stuff like that is with Exiles or something like that, where they're actually major characters.

S&TC was a hit in a way very few other shows are- something like that is once a generation, practically. I enjoyed it a lot more than some guys, largely because 3 of the 4 women are hot (Miranda is DECIDEDLY a "Dark Horse" hottie- actually has the second-best body of the four), and it was a fascinating look at the "other side". The show was so much "Porn For Women" it's not even funny- they all had cool jobs (that somehow left them ages of free time), great friends, an endless supply of charming lovers, endless closets with whatever clothes they wanted, and they went to the trendiest clubs and restaurants. Plus I liked how even though they had their pick of men, most of them somewhat had to "settle" in life and relationships- nothing was really that perfect.

The funny thing is, it was famously "a show about how gay men think women are like". Even the writer of the original Sex Column upon which the show is based said so- largely a result of the show having several prominent gay men on the writing staff, and everyone in the writers room combining their worst relationships into the series. And it was BRUTALLY unrealistic- I've read some hilarious blogs by women who tried to emulate the "Carrie Bradshaw" lifestyle, and ended up burning bridges with every man they met, and being total failures in life because of it.

He's Just Not Into You was a pretty fun book, though. The "Token Straight Man" on the writing staff wrote it based off of his comments to the women on staff- apparently his insight into the male mind (which, in reading the book, is "well, no shit" to any man reading- of COURSE he's not going to leave his wife, or marry you, or whatever) was a complete shock to the women he spoke to.

And yes I once considered doing builds for it :). Heck, it's only like eight or nine characters- wouldn't even take that long. Plus... Kristin Davis pictures... So, SO many...

Role:

Claws +12 (+4 Damage, DC 19)
Initiative +3

Defenses:
Dodge +12 (DC 22), Parry +13 (DC 23), Toughness +3, Fortitude +4, Will +3

Complications:
Relationship (Kyle)- Cartman's arch-nemesis is Kyle, whom he hates for being Jewish, being preachy (ie. moral) and for antagoniozing Cartman. He hates Kyle so much that he writes him as dying of AIDS in his stories, once gave him HIV deliberately, pretended to have Tourette's Syndrome just to throw ethnic slurs and Kyle and his father, interrupted Towelie's intervention just to rip on Jews for over and hour (because nobody was allowed to interrupt during an intervention), and once got a court order to force Kyle to suck Eric's balls because he proved that he saw a leprechan. However, he grew so dependent on their rivalry and insults that he grew bored with the submissive Butters, and missed it so much that he risked his life to save Kyle's.
Relationship (Stan)- Cartman seems to tolerate Stan- the two do not fight as much as he does with Kenny or Kyle.
Relationship (Kenny)- Cartman is often seen with Kenny as a partner in crime, though he's still prone to insulting his friend (*everyone walks away* "... God I hate you, Kenny.").
Relationship (Liane- Mom)- Cartman defends his mother from others, who refer to her as a "dirty slut".
Relationship (Heidi Turner)- Cartman has a relationship with Heidi, but soon grows bored with it, and finds her moralizing to be incredibly tiresome. He also detests her "verbal abuse" of him (which is actually just her saying things he disagrees with). Eventually, he likes her a lot more after she becomes more like him.
---
Hatred ("Too Many Minorities")- Cartman has an open distaste for ethnic minorities of any kind. His greatest fear is that a disaster will strike the human race, leaving tons of minorities, with him being "the only majority left".
Hatred (Jews)- Cartman holds a special hatred for Jewish people, particularly Kyle. He once attempted a Final Solution after watching The Passion of the Christ, openly declares his love of Mel Gibson, and more.
Hatred (Gingers)- Cartman eventually added gingers to his list of people to hate, accusing them of being disgusting-looking and having no souls.
Hatred (Hippies)- Cartman was a Hippie Exterminator for a time- he finds their condescension, "tunes" and lazy nature to be anathema.
Hatred (Family Guy)- Cartman despises the show Family Guy, believing that the offensive humor is unacceptable from anyone who isn't "just a little boy!" like him.
---
Responsibility (Everyone With Their Own Race)- Despite his dislike for minorities, Cartman loves it to the point of weeping when people of the same race start dating. When a black girl joined South Park Elementary, Cartman was immediately aflutter at the idea of hooking her up with Token, and schemed to get them together.
Responsibility (Cat Lover)- Cartman actually risks his freedom in order to protect cats when the people of the town become addicted to cat pee. However, in other episodes, he abuses cats.
Responsibility (Trends)- Cartman is nearly always first to jump in with a trend. Unless it's High School Musical themed.
Responsibility (Self-Deluded)- Cartman has a peculiar way of rewriting the past and convincing himself of certain things. He uses this to justify his own behavior, to the point where he will literally believe in these delusions.
---
Enemy (Scott Tenorman)- Scott was an older kid who relentlessly pranked Cartman, and constantly got one over on him. The humiliations eventually got to the point where Cartman arranged for Scott's parents to be killed, then tricked Scott into eating chili made from their corpses. The tears of Scott's unfathomable sadness were said to be yummy.
Relationship (Stuffed Animals)- Cartman used to have bizarre conversations with his stuffed animals, as Polly Pissy-Pants, Clyde Frog and others would inform Eric of his greatness. He eventually murdered them one by one in an attempt to "grow up".
Reputation (Evil, Racist Fatass)- Cartman is probably the most hated person in South Park- his selfishness and cruelty are known to everyone.
Involuntary Transformation (Mitch Connor)- Cartman's hand occasionally takes the form of Mitch Connor, a much older man with knowledge that Cartman lacks. Connor had initially pretended to be Jennifer Lopez, carrying on a sequal affair with Ben Affleck, who left the other J-Lo to be with this one. It was believed that he had control of the hand, but it occasionally argued with him, jerked off Ben Affleck repeatedly via "oral sex", and knew the identity of Cartman's father.
Disabled (Selective OCD)- Cartman must finish the song Come Sail Away by Styx if he ever hears the opening lyrics. This can be used to distract him temporarily.
Secret ("My Cousin and I Touched Wieners!")
Secret ("I Cry Sometimes At Night 'Cause I Don't Have a Dad!")
Secret ("I Wet The Bed Last Night!")
---
Addiction (Food)- Cartman eats to excess constantly.
Obsession (Having Things)- Cartman is incredibly selfish and jealous- he insists upon getting a present for each birthday present a friend gets, and makes lists of presents that people are to buy him for his own birthday. He will throw temper tantrums in public if his mother refuses to buy him the latest in technology.
Motivation (Greed)- Cartman is intensely greedy- he has started a Crack Baby Basketball League (with unpaid "slave labor" crack babies), sold aborted fetuses, and more.
Responsibility (Clueless)- Though at times worldly, Cartman often has difficulty understanding basic knowledge. When asked what to do if a girl messes with him, Cartman suggests that he'll "kick her in the balls".
Disabled (Fatass)- Cartman is so unathletic that his attempt at becoming the Special Olympian with the most medals actually fails, because even handicapped children are better athletes than he is.
Disabled (Child)- Children are very short, have tiny arms, and aren't as fast as adults. They can never Intimidate an adult without a weapon, no matter their Presence, and are very lightweight, making them easy to pick up.

Total: Abilities: 48 / Skills: 58--29 / Advantages: 8 / Powers: 0 / Defenses: 11 (98)

-Cartman started off the "Superhero Trend" in the show with The Coon, possibly named because of racial connotations. He wields vicious claws, and has enough Complications to have limitless Hero Points.
