BIO

The common workers of the Vord swarm, eight-legged and the size of a large dog. They are the primary reason "Vord" caught on as the name of the invaders (if you catch the origin of the term). They meld themselves into the structure of Vord buildings, becoming part of the building.

BIO

Vord Shepherds, sometimes called "Grell," are the intermediary Vord that give tactical direction to Locusts, Torpedos, Skeeters, and sometimes Drones. They're not formidable in a fight, but they're smart and cowardly enough to stay hidden and make fighting a last resort, and with their burrowing and stealth abilities they can be very hard to eliminate.

BIO

Elite bipedal Vord warriors; they stand slightly taller than most humans, and have two spine-covered tentacles in addition to two sharp scythe-shaped limbs that strike down from above their heads. Nimble, sneaky, and somewhat cunning; rather than charging into battle indiscriminately, they prefer to use their (limited) powers of Assessment to seek out and challenge enemies who will be a tough (but winnable) fight for them.

BIO

Sometimes when the Vord have access to a deceased human body, they infest it with Diminutive insectoid organisms and thus reanimate it for use as a spy, with a little bit of psychic powers. Although the true form of these creatures is gross and obviously based on a dead body, they can project a psychic aura that makes the weak-willed perceive them as looking like ordinary humans. While these "Ghouls" are expendable and not likely to be very effective against mighty superheroes, their very existence is enough to sow paranoia and distrust throughout communities threatened by the Vord, who never know if their next-door neighbor has been eliminated and replaced by a Ghoul.

BIO

Looking something like an elephantine-sized lobster, or maybe a cross between a lobster and an ankylosaurid dinosaur, the Harrux is a huge armored crawler that is used by the Vord for troop transport and siege operations. It can bash down buildings and other easy-to-hit targets with its tail, but against smaller targets its favorite tactic is to use its chameleon-like tongue to pull a victim into its grasp to be crushed.

BIO

The Vord hive can support up to three Queens, amorphous spaceworthy beings whose main purpose is to intelligently direct the less brainy members of the swarm. One stays close to Tyracian, one has taken up building a Vord-style space station orbiting Jupiter, and one relentlessly schemes ways to achieve safe landing on Earth.

NOTES

Most likely to be cast in the role of a big final boss in a high-powered Vord-fighting campaign. Because Tyracian, the even-bigger boss, is probably untouchable in his entrenched position on Titan (with lots of minions defending it).

BIO

A gargantuan amorphous blob of tentacles, oozing glands, bony ridges and spines, Tyracian is the hive mind of an invasive alien multi-species swarm. Earthlings called this swarm by several names drawn from their own pop culture or legends, including Zerg, Tyranids, and Kaiju, but the name that stuck (thanks to the spider-like workers) was "Vord."

Tyracian's mother egg vector landed on Saturn's moon Titan, and there Tyracian grew to mature form. It now spends its (nuclear) energy spawning spacefaring young and launching them into other parts of the solar system, intending to eventually infest the whole system. Of course, Earth is the major challenge, as its inhabitants have proven very reluctant to keel over and let the Vord infest their planet so far.

NOTES

One of the true Big Bads of the Sila-verse. On the offensive side, it's not really so effective itself as it is a leader for other Vord, who will have nastier and more varied attacks.
