I just kind of realized a power I could/should have put on Inquisitor when I was hunting for things to spend points on in the end. Detect Honesty.

That sounds like a power that would annoy GMs to no end.EpicEclipse wrote: ↑Wed Feb 13, 2019 7:29 pm I just kind of realized a power I could/should have put on Inquisitor when I was hunting for things to spend points on in the end. Detect Honesty.

Hah. No. That would have gotten a very big no. Because, yes, I've been there before, and it's not going to happen again.EpicEclipse wrote: ↑Wed Feb 13, 2019 7:29 pm I just kind of realized a power I could/should have put on Inquisitor when I was hunting for things to spend points on in the end. You can always make an Insight check.

Fair, though keeping in mind, she would still need to be touching someone, and it could be check required or other things to reduce its effectiveness. There are means to mitigate the impact the power could have.
Or I could just pump the heck out of insight.

After reading the thread in Fuzzy's link I can see you had a really bad experience with this kind of power, sorry that happened Davies.

Eh. It was fifty per cent my own fault for not saying no when the guy started talking about neuro-electricity. Live and learn.Flynnarrel wrote: ↑Wed Feb 13, 2019 11:05 pm After reading the thread in Fuzzy's link I can see you had a really bad experience with this kind of power, sorry that happened Davies.

It just seems like the whole human polygraph thing is something she should be able to do with her powerset, but I'm not picky about how it gets portrayed mechanically.
I could boost her Insight ranks, do a feature that gives her a bonus to the skill when touching the subject, the Skill Mastery advantage is also a thing.
Or if using the Sense power, putting resistance on it gives them a Will save and makes sense in the context of the descriptor of the power.
Just spitballing ideas.

Doesn't mind reading already do what you're looking for?

Yes and no. I mean, I suppose kinda?
I can only see what they are thinking unless I dive deeper. So if they are thinking lies, I don't know they are lies necessarily, unless they are consciously considering lies to tell.
So I guess in a backwards, psychology leaning way, it can tell when most people are lying based on their surface thoughts when asked a question and how their conscious mind reacts to said question.
Didn't really stop to think about it that way though, so I guess I already kind of have the polygraph thing going on via mind reading.

Sorry I couldn't really post in before the doctor showed up. I can post OOCly from work, but not ICly (not anymore anyways. New job since two weeks ago) since I can't format the post properly.
Most I can do is a post before work, and before bed.

Sorry to hear that. I will try to keep the story from running away from you.

Just a reminder -- Impaired means -2 to actions, not that you can't take those actions. Jack has already taken his action for the round, and his Initiative was "I go first".
