I am providing clarification, in the event it is needed for the players. Diego can make his own comments IC.

To address/clarify a couple other things Iona brought up:
Iona wrote:“Where will we get adequate equipment for the recruits?
You are going to have to acquire it somehow. You could go on a mission to steal some. You could try to make a deal with another faction to trade goods or services for it. If you had a Favor with one of your patrons, you could have used it for this. You don't have any Favors however.
Iona wrote:And just as importantly who will train such large numbers? Could Colonel Costa and her direct subordinates be approached to do so? What if she refuses?”
You have zero Favors to call on. Meaning, you will have to do this yourselves. By that I mean to say, use your resources, personnel, and assets. Your people would be training these recruits. If you had a Favor to call in, I'd allow you to use instead of Dominion.

You have trained soldiers that can provide instruction. You have Tilly Sander, a veteran soldier, and soon John Steiner, an elite caliber soldier. Diego has military training. This is something you can do without leaning on outsiders, and will be reflected by the fact you have to spend Dominion on this.

I thought this was brought up in a previous ooc post, but Sakuro pretty much covered it ooc. Ooc, my main worry is the arming since getting even 50k pistols plus ammo isn't cheap or easy in the best of times. Pistols won't do much compared to Stronghold.

Training wise, we have base staff that are trained fighters. It's not like we'll be running standard military boot camp training.

First, Diego make an Insight roll and Iona make a Deception roll. Attractive does not apply. This will be to see if Diego can pick up on Iona's discontent with Dr. Sokolov.

Next, Iona make an Intellect -2 check. I want to give you a chance to gain some political insights. Normally I would require that you have Expertise Politics, but this is something I want you to have a chance at picking up on, so I am allowing you to make a roll at a penalty.

Diego is trying to deceive Dr. Applegate, and make it look like Iona wasn't talking about annihilating all who stand in her way like some megalomaniacal villain. That means you need a Deception check. Not Persuasion. Iona might be indifferent, but if you just let that stand
it would certainly give Dr. Applegate, one of your key staff and someone who you will be relying on for this project, a negative outlook on Iona.

As for the plants and their uses, they're all listed in the folder as being used for miscellaneous personal projects by your more scientifically inclined staff. The best people to ask for information about them would be the people involved or Dr. Applegate. Peter wouldn't know jack about plants and Iona is not a specialist in the field so I am inclined to give you only very general information. However I'll tell you straight: by looking over the list Iona can tell that these are for personal projects of no real import and have no utility that would actually help you in achieving any of your goals. The two rare plants I gave out by name are listed as being personally owned by Dr. Applegate and they are not being used for anything. They're someone's personal property taking up space in your greenhouse. That's it.

I updated my post with the rolls. I figure she could easily beat a deception of 11, so should be interesting to see her response.

Diego may roll Persuasion to Aid Iona's check. Iona will be making the main roll, and Diego adding a bonus to her's.

While Iona is off in her lab Supernaturalist can resume the scene with John and Tilly, or wait until Diego wraps up the scene with Dr. Applegate. Depending on Diego it may end soon. After that I'll be setting up the meeting between Diego and John.

I've been gone most of the day, so I'll get a post up for John tomorrow. I'll also get one up for Iona once mrdent12 has posted.

When does everyone's holiday season start and end usually? Would you like to pause the game during that general time? I know work and other responsibilities can pick up during that time of year for some people. I also find it difficult to act as a player or Storyteller when posting becomes infrequent, so I would rather we take a break and come back to the game later if the holidays are going to be busy for people.

The week of Thanksgiving and the week of Christmas will be very busy for me. Otherwise, I'm still good to post.

Holiday wise, Thanksgiving week and Chirstmas week are my busy periods traditionally. Not sure whats going to happen with Covid-19, but other than those times I am good to post with some of my periods of delay due to various bugs popping up at work.

Let's find out. Make an Expertise Soldier check for John.

On the topic of holidays, I may need the two of you to give me a reminder about Thanks Giving and Christmas week. I do not pay much attention to holidays myself. We can certainly take those two weeks off.
