True dat. Conquer and save at the same time.

Overall, it was a fun segment that was handled well given the rl stuff going on with the players.

Once this scene with Diego and Iona is over we'll do a small time skip and play out three separate scenes to wrap up this chapter. One for Iona. Another for Hitori. The third will be for Diego and Peter. Then there will be a less dangerous assignment that will hopefully give the PCs some time to plan for the future and decompress.

Yeah, we definitely need it.

Scouting the area above ground where Dr. Sokolov was held and prepping for that was supposed to be a less dangerous bit of the mission too. Turns out we caused a bomb scare and loss of a base.

That was Levi's fault. I assume Iona has the foolish parts of Levi's mind purged...

Diego and Reaper also were culpable with the bomb thing. Should have had Diego ask Reaper to stay back or took a more suitable tact that sneaking about with someone unsneaky. That and not say bomb.

I am putting up another recruitment campaign. Probably should have waited until about this point (closer to the closing of a story segment) before looking for a new play. A mistake on my part. The first post has also been edited to account for this.

EDIT:
If people interested in joining up post asking questions, feel free to answer those you are comfortable answering.

Eh, we all make mistakes and jump the gun sometimes.

A joint Dr. Sokolov and Praetor Nulls force teamup that is on more equal footing is rife with potential.

I realized I forgot to add a bit in my post updating Peter. Too late edit now...

Did Iona really forget the whole demand of loyalty Null made to us before we got Ascendance?

Not everyone means what they say … all of you could have been lying in order to get empowered. At least that is one way she could have seen it.

Iona doesn't see loyalty to the Cause and loyalty to Null as the same thing. One can be loyal to Null AND be loyal to the Cause too, Iona is well aware of this. But she sees unwavering and uncritical loyalty to Null as something that can be easily abused. It's is something that can be used by Null to enrich and empower itself at the expense of the greater good. This is something that is unacceptable to her. She would never willingly give Doctor Sokolov that kind of loyalty.

Part of the loyalty is the Null people has seen what he does to the disloyal. Diego follows voluntarily over years of grooming, but even if he wasn't 100% on board with following Null he would soon learn he has to be. It's part of why he expects reprecusaions for failing Praetor Nulls.

Null demanded loyalty to themselves. Not the Cause in general. It might have been forgotten, and not considered by Iona due to player forgetting an earlier scene's details.
