CND: Not quite together
Waking in the medical coffin was a jolt, but so was realizing he was mere centimeters from the roof of it with some of the instruments sticking right through him. Somehow, he wasn't panicked. It felt as if this was his new normal although by any other definition normal wouldn't even be in the same dimension. He also didn't feel...solid? It didn't make sense. Things poking through where he though his torso would be proved otherwise. Also, he didn't have a torso per se. It was more of the middle of a cloud than a properly formed body part. Similarly, he had sort of hands. Some of the cloud he realized was his body moved when he tried to move his hands, but they too bended in ways he didn't know possible and passed through him. Trying to turn over, he realized he was floating as well. Not too much due to the small space, but just enough.
Even while processing it all, his mind was focused on what he dreamt or experienced. It felt so real. If he was a cloud, maybe it was possible for star eating monsters..no creatures to exist. Either way, he had to find out and if true the only way he saw forward was a united world.
There wasn't time to ponder these thoughts and his new form further when the medical coffin opened exposing just a mist in the shape of the space Diego once lay. Somehow, his mind said keep it together and well he kept together. Focusing even more, he told himself to get it together. Being a mist...cloud...floating particles? Whatever he was, he needed to get a body together. If he could keep himself in a floating mass together he could maybe form a body. At first, it was like water drops in air combining to make a body of pure black opaqueness. This body to formed around the various instruments. Trying even harder, his mind told his body to try harder. After another round, a solid body of black opaqueness lay in the medical coffin.
Now he felt things better. Like before. It was different though. He was detached and concerns of the past didn't seem to matter anymore as if they were too tiny. The cause and whatever he thought he saw coming in the dream outweighed anything. Sensations of touch also felt muted. What should have been cold, felt like just a solid object with little other properties. He knew it should be cold. It felt a little cooler, but not as much as he thought it should.
The restraints had already went through his cloud body by the time Iona came over. "I can move fine. In fact, I feel better than fine. I feel reborn.", said Diego sitting up. Null had said to make sure he was fine and that was all he allowed. Praetor Null had gifted Diego with whatever he had become plus he had sworn allegiance. So, he followed orders. Thinking back to what he used to be triggered something in him, a change of sorts as his pure black body shifted back into Diegos appearance before nearly dying. The only reason he was aware of this was because of his hands changing and suddenly having clothes. "What happened...?", inquires Diego out of curiosity more than worry.Iona nods in the direction of Praetor Null as she approaches the first Ascension chamber. Carefully loosening the restraints, she speaks gently to each 'patient', "Can you move under your own power? Do not rush! We are in no hurry, and you can be assisted if necessary."
