"So this is just a game to you? How can people trust you to protect them when you are just here "doing crazy stuff?"
Persuasion DC15
Persuasion DC15
If you go with the truth, you actually need a Persuasion DC25 since you were an invader. If you choose Deception, the DC is 20. You also will also be taking on the Secret complication.
DC15 Persuasion check, DC20 if you want to use Deception.
"Anyone who tells you being a hero isn't crazy is messing you.", begins Kit. He knew his reckless ways would come back and bite him. Still, he took it in stride. "I mean really, what sort of sane person would willing jump into danger when running is so much safer? When a fireman rushes into a burning building to save a kid, can you honestly tell me that isn't a crazy thing to do? Of course not, until you factor in the whole saving a kid thing. Every time a hero goes out to help someone or stop something bad form happening its crazy really. I'm just calling it what it is.", continues Kit."So this is just a game to you? How can people trust you to protect them when you are just here "doing crazy stuff?"
OOC wrote:Sky Guard is being honest, but withholding information. I'll roll a d20 and use whatever modifier you feel is fitting.
Question: 1d20 6 +6 (12) for Deception. +12 (18) for Persuasion. Neither hits their DC.
EDIT:
Kensiedo gave me 1 HP in the OOC thread … which I'll use to re-roll that Deception.
re-roll Deception: 1d20+6+2 20 The +2 is for the slavery circumstance bonus.

"Are you human? Where do your powers come from?"
DC15 Persuasion check, DC20 if you want to use Deception.

Pass either way
My current thoughts are that Tamati's ancestors had a history of having water powers that they believed was inherited from the spirit of the Waimakariri River back when their hapu or iwi first settled on the plains near the river. It was believed that the power or gift flowed through the female branch of the family as oral history seems to say only females had the gift in recent memory and it became accepted as fact.
Tamati's older sister grew up being told that she would have these amazing water powers and was horrified to say the least when Tamati exhibited them instead. She left soon after for places unknown.
So Tamati didn't want to mention any of the above as it still confuses him so his roll could be either persuasion or deception.
"Angela?" Juno says with playful indignation, "Should I be offended she's just asking you when I'm an active rubberist?"
persuasion: 1d20+8 11. well, its over ten, at least...

Question: 2, Successes: 1, Failures: 0
"Tell us about this group who taught you. Who are they? What are they like? Where are they? Are they releasing more mages into our world?"
DC15 Persuasion, DC20 Deception if you attempt to deceive. If you refuse to talk about them in any way, it is treated as a failure.
Persuasion 1d20+2: 12
Ugh the one time I make a character with no Persuasion skill I have to make so many checks with it.
DC20 Persuasion, or something else creative
Obviously they are trying to get you to talk more about your past. Same rolls as before.
This comes from tabloid stories that include things like "I married Bigfoot" and the like. While there is no basis for the question in reality, it does still touch on your Complications, so take an HP.
DC15 Persuasion
Mutant mania isn't quite as bad as alien xenophobia right now, but it is a thing.
