After Juno's departure, there is a lot of unusual gang activity in the city. Then a week later you receive a hurried call on the police band...
Guardians, the Nine Titans just hijacked 3 tankers full of liquid nitrogen and are speeding westbound on 610! Officers in pursuit but we need your help. Can you assist?
The Nine Titans are one of the local gangs.
"On route to assist." Arca-Knight replies taking to the air.

"Arca-Knight, you have one of the broadest set of abilities of our group. Be prepared to run damage control and manage vehicle traffic while others go on the offense."
"I'll be ready." She says readying herself for disaster management.

Kit Ferryman
HP: 2
Cnd: Fine and Dandy

Kit was just getting back from a quick visit with one of the female reporters giving her an interview on what it's been like being in the Guardians and how his image fixing was going. In most cases, Kit would have waited to have a break from the PR. In the reporters case, he just couldn't resist the fiery eyes, raven black hair, and smile that made her shine.

Popping back into his room to change into jeans, a Nirvana T-shirt, and black leather jacket to train, the call came in. Snatching up some sun glasses, he popped into the main area of the house. Opening a portal to roughly ahead of the chase, Kit chimed in over the comms Taxi is ready and waiting., signals kit.

Once everyone had arrived through the portal who was going to go through, Kit followed and prepared for stopping the chase.

Angela
HP: 1
Condition: Normal

Standing at Juno's departure felt like attending a funeral. A one-way-trip. Those were the words that made the deepest imprint in her digital mind.

"Goodbye," she says, with a reassuring smile - even though she does not feel happy at all. "Be safe."

The ties between Juno and her mother awe her. She has glimpsed such a thing, like shadows scrawled on a cave wall, in the countless volumes of anime and manga that she read in Doc Otaku's lab. A journey that only those bonded by blood can make.

She looks down at her own thumb. As a machine, is there even anyone who can make this journey with her? And even if there were, if she put the knife to her synthetic skin, cut herself and bled nanite blood onto the mystic circle, would the spell work?

* * *

Fortunately, Kit's portal is a much less sombre affair, and one that does not require any blood to work.

The call on the police band caught her in the middle of of her dating sim binge. Hurriedly dropping the controller and almost knocking over the lithium glower Bryan gave her, she rushes to get ready. Getting suited up for combat is as simple an affair as stripping off her clothes and underwear and allowing nanites to flow out of the microscopic pores in her skin, forming her fabulously-skimpy battle attire. Angela remembered how Doc Otaku was very careful to be out of the room whenever she did that. He considered the sight of the process disturbingly unsexy, according to the other Angel Androids.

She bursts out of her room and vaults down the stairs with agility that would make an Olympic gymnast green with envy. "I could get used to this," she agrees with Taheka, ready to step through the portal. "Five out of five stars for convenience and speed." A thought. "This portal's going to open up on the roof of the lead truck, so I can get to smashing faces right away, correct?"

All

The portal puts you out on the side of the road a bit ahead of the truck, but not much. There are speeding dangerously along the highway with multiple police cars giving chase. The police cars have formed a barrier of sorts between the trucks and the civilian cars behind them. Unfortunately, there are still plenty of cars in front of the trucks. Most of them are moving to the side because of the sirens behind them, but some foolish people are trying to stay ahead of them, only to get pushed out of the way when the trucks get too close.

One of the police cars tries to pull up alongside a truck, when a thug in the passenger seat fires an automatic pistol at the cop car, blowing out a tire and causing it to lose control. Another thug hanging on between the cab and the cargo pops out and points a hose at the car spraying a white billowing cloud. The cop car comes out of it covered in white frost and crashes into the median.

Torako

You came to New Orleans because you heard they were starting some big operation here, and it's too close for comfort. You are on a motorcycle staying back a ways to try and follow these gang members to their boss. You figured the cops would call off the pursuit soon, once it became a danger to the public. Unfortunately, you see the heroes in town appear out of nowhere, meaning these trucks won't be making it to their boss, and you won't be able to interrogate them unless you play nice.
Initiative:
Skyguard Initiative: 1d20+10 30
Torako Initiative: 1d20+10 23
Arca-Knight Initiative: 1d20+6 22
Nine Titans Initiative: 1d20+1 14
Taheka Initiative: 1d20+6 10
Angela Initiative: 1d20+2 9
Kit Initiative: 1d20+7 8

The trucks are moving at Speed 5 constantly, so to stay with them you also have to move Speed 5 or better. If you do move at speed 5, you can stay with them at a constant speed and treat them like they are stationary.

Sky Guard
HP: 4
Cnd: Healthy
Favored Environment: Defense Focus [24 to hit]

SKy Guard was a black shadow in the daylight sky. The sun shining over head making his silhouette appear to shine at the edges of the shadow. Like a bird of prey he descended on the back truck. Coming down on it from the side he flew into the gap between cap and cargo, racing towards the man who had sprayed the police chase vehicle. turning to the side so that he could fit through the space Ven swung a right hook for the man's jaw which, from his victims perspective, wound up being an uppercut. After delivering the blow Sky Guard rocketed out of the narrow space, straightened out, and began to ascend again.
OOC wrote:I don't know if these antagonists are Minions. If they are, Sky Guard will be taking 10 on his attack(s). If they're Minions and he fells one, he does have Takedown 2. Assuming they're Minions he'll focus on one truck, trying to take out the sprayer behind the cap, then the driver and second person visibly active in the cab.

Move Action: Get into melee range.
Standard Action: Attack Sprayer Nine Titan

Here is a roll, in case these are not Minions. In either case he'll be using Power Attack -3/+3 (taking 10 = 20 to hit).

Power Attack -3 Atk/+3 Dmg: 1D20+10 = [16]+10 = 26 DC 25 Tough

I'm going to include some extra text, in case Takedown 2 kicks in. It can be ignored otherwise.
After gaining some height Sky Guard spiraled in the air, reorientation himself for a second pass on the tanker truck. This time, during his dive, he spun his legs forwards and closed his wings in close to his back. Like a humanoid spear he drove a two footed kick through the driver side window, at the driver, and endeavored to take his place in the driver's seat. Righting himself inside the vehicle Sky Guard grasped hold of the steering wheel to keep it the vehicle from getting out of control. Then, with a snapping motion, he sent his right fist towards the face of the passenger in the cap.
OOC wrote:If need be, Extra Effort will be used for an additional Move Action to control the vehicle and keep it from crashing.

Skyguard

Your uppercut lifts the guy up six inches and leaves him hanging from the harness holding him to the truck as he spends the rest of the fight unconscious.
They are minions.
He can't make that save.

Torako
HP 1

sorry Ems," Torako thinks to herself as she angles the loaned motorbike along the side before killing the engine and leaping off, letting it crash harmlessly offroad while she flies ahead using her Air Dash Jutsu, over the police, hoping to get ahead of the chase.

she can't shadow the gangers, but she's not holding it against the heroes. She's a good kitty, but not a smart one, and this chase could hurt too many people as it is.

"Nobody dies," she vows to herself as she always does when entering a fight or disaster
Torako has flight 6, so standard action to make sure the bike crashes without hurting anyone, before move action to catch up.

EDIT: with my speed, I'm told I can easily get ahead of the tanker for my action next round

Torako

Torako sends the motorcycle into the shoulder and it slows down as it gradually reaches the cement median until it gently rests against it.

She then zips ahead of the trucks and easily keeps pace in front of them.
Your speed is enough to get ahead of them.

Arca-Knight is up
Arca-knight blinks at the unfamiliar orange blur running beside the truck. Seems they had unexpected back-up. Interesting.

No time to ponder that, focus on the task at hand.

Arca-Knight flies so she has line of sight with the driver, forming a spell in her mind. It coalesced into a sickly green light around her hand.

"Eyn imglik iz far im veynik." She released the curse at the driver.

Nine Titans

The passenger in the now driverless truck panics and pushes over to try and control the vehicle.

The passengers in the two other trucks lean out their windows and open fire with their machine pistols at Arca-Knight while the two guys on the backs of the other two trucks point their hoses at Skyguard.

Nine Titans Passengers Liquid Nitrogen Hoses vs Skyguard: 2#1d20+1 10 17

Tamati "Taheka" Stevens
HP: 2 > 1 LP: 1
Condition: Normal

"Those are big trucks" was Taheka's only comment on exiting the portal at the sight of the trucks heading towards him.

Noticing that there were some guys outside the cabs attackinbg Sky Guard, Taheka seemed to swell as his body expanded and stretched towards the trucks, as he moved between them his arms shot out slamming into the bodies of the thugs.

OOC wrote: Using elongation 5 to stretch his body towards the trucks then using a HP to add the split attack feat to his water punch attack.

Water Punch [Strike 7 (Strength based), Extra Split attack]

Taking 10 to hit for a DC20 Toughness save for each thug.

Edit changed attack from area to melee

Angela
HP: 1
Condition: Normal

The portal does not, regrettably, open on top of the roof of a speeding truck (although Angela's engineering mind can appreciate the difficulties involved in trying to precisely target something on top of a moving vehicle). Immediately, battle-context algorithms start to determine the wisest course for dealing with the trucks without damage to life or property. Sky Guard has the rear truck in hand, and Arca-Knight is taking care of another... hang on, there's another girl racing alongside the trucks? Systems tag the unknown persona as neutral - friend or foe not confirmed.

Angela decides that she can spare a moment to check on the police officers in the car before joining in the pursuit. "Hello officers," she says, dashing over top the crashed police cruiser and peeking in the vehicle. "Don't worry, help is here."

She looks for injuries and to see if the police are unconscious or trapped. At the same time, she takes a look at whatever it was the Nine Titans thugs sprayed the vehicle with. Depending on what it was - and what those tankers held - they might have to be extra careful.

OOC
Angela will try to discern what the substance being sprayed over the car is.
GCG Angela Expertise: Science: 1D20+15 = [1]+15 = 16

She will also check on the officers. Although, Angela does not have medicine or first aid-related expertises. Here is an unmodified roll in case I need a check for anything.
