I guess it's top of the round.

Init:
Samuel 26
Eli 24
Cat 23
Amy 19
Dent - Init: 1d20 19
Pratfall 15
Alice 11
Badguys 6
John 5

Is Samuel doing anything besides talking? Or is he making it a full-on intimidate/persuasion?

* Thanks Flynn

To further add to Smith's attempt to convince the group of aggressors their position was not as secure as they thought, Eli's form almost materializes out of the shadows/ less well lit area of the upper part of the main gathering area of the Temple of El, obviously holding on to something in a controlled fall... the droid that had been floating over the shoulder of one of the Gladitori a few moments earlier... It's trying to stay aloft, but 500+ pounds of semi-dead flesh was well beyond it's ability to stay aloft...

By Eli's turn, she'll have reached the ground, softly enough to maintain her footing but enough to require a Strength check to keep her hold on the droid...

Elizabeth "Eli" Walsh
HP: 2
Status: Keeping a grip on the situation
~^v~~v^~

She's a little startled by the fact that she actually managed to make contact with the droid, and even more startled when it starts to plummet towards the ground at a speed that would've worried the human version of herself a few years ago. When she hears that the droid was a much more important target then she initially realized, she roles with it by starting to sink her hands into it's metallic casing. For someone as strong as her, it was like trying to squeeze a can of soda. Just a little bit more pressure... and... it just might pop open!

OOC: If it's alright, I'll go ahead with my next round actions if we're at the new round's start.

Badguys - Oak is out.
Will: 1d20+5 10 Bison
Will: 1d20+5 10 Blaster
Will: 1d20+5 10 Dreadloque
Will: 1d20+7 25 Olga
Droid - Unaffected

The S on his chest, glowing eyes, Oak being knocked down... the building being a place of worship to the Man of Steel... the child with the similar emblem being completely unaffected by their attacks.. combined with a group they clearly expected to be much easier to intimidate... all but Olga exchange looks with each other, and the deranged looking telepath doesn't look so sure of herself anymore.

Dreadloque speaks for the group, the air from his mouth frosting regardless of temperature.

"We get it." He tries to maintain some bravado. "You're prepared to fight for each other. Quaint. But what you fail to realize - even if you have discovered Warhead's purpose - is that we automatically back up every thirty seconds, so we'd lose, what, a minute of our lives? And... has your tech wizard found the bomb yet?

Eli has a firm - very firm grip - and the droid's shell has started to cave and buckle in his grip. The word bomb gets her attention though.

Eli is up. Cat can post as well, unless you're waiting to see what Eli does...

Cat McKenzie (FG)
HP: 2; LP: 1; Condition: Normal

Cat was no stranger to violence, but she was willing to let Samuel set the pace, as it were, for this encounter. It was his "House", after all. She stepped over towards him, taking a position about a step behind him and just to his left. She brought her gun up, tracking smoothly from target to target- ready...

>OOC:
-Move action to position near Samuel.
-Standard: Ready an action, to attack the first opponent (other than Bison) who begins to take a hostile action. Will use Power Attack 5 with her heavy pistol, rolling now so it is ready. 1d20+12-5= 26 (Natural 19, so a crit with the pistol), roll https://orokos.com/roll/754034

-So if a 26 hits vs. Dodge, first attacking foe needs a DC 29 Toughness (4 pistol +5 PA +5 Crit)

Amy is still hoping there's no fighting. But seeing Samuel taking charge makes her feel better. She notices she was generating heat but allows it to remain. Seeing Cat aiming her pistol, she gathers fire to her hands and hopes she doesn't need to throw it at someone.

(ready an attack at the same person Cat shoots, if she shoots.)

The standoff continues, with the Gladitori seething. They clearly expected to have a much greater advantage than this.

Dent stands next to Samuel. The shields of the House of El on their persons seeming to suit them well. Not only do they wear them well, their demeanor thus far seems to also suggest the "owners" of said symbol would be pleased...

Pratfall, Alice.... do you want to do anything this round? (You're up.)

Alice HP 2, LP 1, conditiion freaking scary

"If there is a bomb in the droid, giving up now would be in your favor I think. If it is destroyed and it detonates... We all shall die, even you." her smile widened into a death's head grin, something that should be impossible for a normal human. Around her there was a cold wind that lifted the hair off her shoulders, smelling of Autumn and graveyards and things that scuttled in the dark. Things that were best left undisturbed.

"Do not think that your little bypass will go unnoticed. I will personally inform Lady Death of your crass cheating. She will be most displeased by it and take appropriate actions. I think." she said coolly, as if unfazed by the certainty of death."It is of course your choice." she added in that same, unsettling, eerily calm manner and rocked back and forth, humming a strange tune.

After all no part of her was afraid of Death. Some of her voices even welcomed the notion. Though at least one was frothing at the mouth and screaming about Fracking Toasters. It also wasn't an idle threat. The Endless were real. Terrifyingly real. Death in particular did not like it when people tried to circumvent the natural order. Living longer was one thing. Coming back to life after you properly died? Quite another.

Intimidation 34 http://orokos.com/roll/754725 Freaking 18! I thought it was a 20, but wow. Still a very nice roll.

This is assuming that whatever Pratfall attempts leaves at least one up and about.
And yeah, one of her voices is a Colonial from Battlestar Galactica.

Pratfall
HP: 2
Status: Normal

"Quick! Quick!", Pratfall says, waddling over to Eli, with his thumbs in the wasitband of his pants. When next to her, he pushes his hands out, stretching out the waistband of his pants.
"Stuff it in here! There's no time to waste! Heh... or is that waist?"

As per the discussion in the OOC forums, he's offering to try to put the droid in his Dimensional Pocket. Let me know if you need him to stunt something off of his Slapstick array to increase the Dimensional Pocket size for it and/or apply a Nullify to prevent the actual explosion.

Alice

The Cheshire cat shook his head. "Clowns are rarely serious. But you can always console yourself with being the straightman for their act." he considered. "When they are serious, the situation is truly dire. It's a good barometer as any I suppose."

The girl shook her head. "Is it a bad sign when I find reality to be far more confusing than the Dreaming?"

Olga sneers,

"Detonate." She commands, a light begins to blink on the droid. She then turns to Blaster, he goes pale, all color draining on his face and a trembling arm rises. You notice a button on his glove that he presses and there are several muffled sounds akin to small firecrackers going off. A whisp of smoke escapes the ear of each of the Gladitori and their eyes roll up and they slump to the ground...

Eli... up to you if you follow Pratfall's antics... Although it is John's turn to act.

Knowing exactly when they triggered the detonation and already having the communication equipment of the van trained on this place one of the Van Smith's records the frequency and signal of both the destruct arming of the droid and the self-kill signals sent by and too the mercenaries themselves.

The Smiths disect the signal and repurpose it like fiends to try to switch the droid's explosives off remotely.
