"Oh really? You've been spying on Frank too? You should have said something." Breach says.

"Maybe don't wander off next time then." Vincent says, not looking at her.
Am I dead? Am I alive? The answer may surprise you!

Travaglia held up her hand to interject herself. "Who is this other person? How can you use her to get her off of us?

Well, holding it off longer isn't gonna help right? :P

Woo, all that worry for nothing!

For a moment his mental composure nearly slips. Nearly.

"An acquaintance of the detective. Someone who hadn't been fully informed about the details of our arrangement. They know he's lying to them, and we can use that to push more of a divide between them. If you're willing to go further along with this idea, I'll even let you have the name and we can hash out the details from there. Then there would be no more secrets, from that point on we'd be working as partners. I'll be just as upon a book verbally as you want me to be mentally." He leans forward. Just like in poker you needed to keep your cool, and keep what was in your hand secret. Let them make their own assumptions about what your cards were, and hope to hell that they'll think yours are better. Vincent didn't want to play his hand early lest his was weaker then he thought it might be.

Travaglia was taken aback for a moment at your comment, then she smiled. "I apologize about the mental intrusion. It is a force of habit for me. It is hard to trust someone if you don't know what they are thinking. There was a time when I didn't have a choice, but once you know the plans people keep for themselves, it is hard to go back to a world of not knowing."

She took a long sip of her drink. "So you think we can divide these people? If he has been lying to everyone, that might be easy. I doubt they would like the backlash that this information would have on their careers. This also worries me though. Surely he cannot be intending all of us to survive the encounter if he has put this much of himself out here. Witnesses can be as bad for a dirty cop as they are for a criminal. Do you have any ideas as to how you would do this?"

Eyes closed the medium allowed his spectral spies to whisper into his ears about their recent discoveries and recollections. It was a mess of information, but it was all potentially very useful. Time to put it into words. "Frank Breckenridge, detective, supposed to not be on this case due to your connections. Somehow he's managed to have enough pull to have signatures forged on our release papers, including one of Renee Callenholt. Poor Renee, so wrapped up in her ambitions to become the District Attorney of our fair city that she can't manage to prove just how much Frank has veen screwing her over. It's her that'll be key in getting this washed up detective the humiliating defeat he sorely needs. We'll have three hours to get what we need in order, or else Frank is going to call it in and have us all gunned down."

He glances to breach. "All of us. He's neglected to tell anyone about our actual involvement, who we even are. Renee suspects due to an email from the prison, but she's lacking in anything concrete. They're already setting up, which means we'll need to get a plan in order and enacted fast."

"I've heard of her." Omar said. "Back before you hired me, she had gone after several of my boys. She doesn't go easy and she's smart."

"Smart enough to back off when we make the detective's plan clear?", Travaglia asked. Omar just shrugged. "Make plans just in case." Looking at the two of you, she briefly countermands herself. "Make sure they begin after the big bout. I am sure they wouldn't want to miss their alien friend and 'The Shocker' going toe to toe."

Returning to buisness, Travaglia looks at the two of you. "I think you have the beginning's of a plan. I will let you make those plans down here. The interrogation room should be empty" She looks at Omar.

"We have someone we were thinking of putting there, but we can leave her in the pluming maintenance area.", Omar said.

"The card counter? Give her an hour down there, return her with only the money she brought with her and dump her out. She can count herself lucky that we have too many other problems to deal with her more forcefully."

"Got it." Omar stood up and began to escort the two of you to the interrogation room. The smell of sweat and copper lingers on the air. The scent was probably left here to help instill a sense of urgency in those stupid enough to find themselves here. A tool bag is in the corner on a small table. Several full backed metal chairs sit in the room with an etching through the finish that suggests wire bindings were used. "My associate will be just outside this door. When you have a workable plan, contact me and I'll let you out."

"Charming." He comments, then glances toward a figure huddled in the corner weeping. "Very charming."

As both of you enter the room, Marcus looks at the crying woman. He sighs audibly. "I thought she was in the maintenance hatch? Move her to the maintenance hatch." Another member of the guard went to the woman and took her back in the direction from where you came. "Time grows short. Make your plans and then use them."

"Come along Breach. We don't have forever, as much as it may feel like it." Vincent says once the trash has been dealt with, taking a spot in the middle of the room. It's then he reveals in full what he's managed to learn, no longer caring of if the telepath can overhear their thoughts. They have a chance to turn things around for themselves, so now it was up to them to get things over and dealt with.

"...My first instinct is to first secure the woman to our side, giving credence to her suspicions of the detective trying to screw her over. From there, I might be able to do the same thing I've been doing to a man in the Arena."

~

"Your shaking a little. Careful, you might... Trip." A victim whispered, holding out a partially tangible foot at just the perfect moment.

~

"...Though this sort've work seems more your forte'. " He concluded, giving the woman an appraising look.

"I'm curious," Breach says. "Did the press find out about missing convicts from the prison? Frank got three of us out of prison. If he wasn't on the up-and-up, are there warrants out for me and the two down in fighting pit? If there aren't warrants, how did Frank swing that?

"As for approaching this District Attorney, we can't send anyone but you since we don't know if there are APBs out for the rest of us."

You have not yet seen any APBs out on your "escape". If you want, you can make an investigation check somewhere you have electronics capable of that.

"Even if we did, you don't have to worry about that. I have someone on my side who can instigate the discussion with no personal risk."

While they discussed their methods, his spirits wandered, and hunted for information he could use.

"You don't think your spirits will... um.. spook the assistant DA? If that could work, we should go with that." Breach says. "Now the question is what to tell her after the infodump. Her first question is likely to be how does she know the spirit is telling the truth. How does your spirit answer?"
