The girl smiles, "Just as illegal as what the detective is doing, perhaps? My master was never even charged for whatever it is they thought he did, ambushed him and injected him full of strange substances. You might be able to put warrants out on his friends, but his hands so far are clean as far as mortal law is considered."

~

"That might be help give us some of the push we need. Very interesting..." Vincent asks to see the phone before she leaves, and tries to take a look through what's been uncovered and make some of his own observations.

Investigation: Analyze Evidence (13)

Yet, nothing seems to stick out to him any more then what Breech has uncovered.

ooc: May be a good idea to toss your own investigation, see if we might be able to piece things together more.
[Expertise (Law Enforcement) Check: 21 vs 20]

[OOC: Give me an insight check on Renee to see if you notice something.]

"Aiding and abetting a fugitive however is quite illegal and punishable by law. Perhaps with a good lawyer, you get away scot free. It might put you through a long and public trial. I've seen many people plead guilty rather than go through that process. Help me and I will give you the best deal I can. For you, probably immunity for any crimes committed. There may be a few limitations on that depending upon circumstances that I am... clearly not aware of. Your friends will get their cells back. Possibly time off. I'll be honest here. Depending upon how much Breckenridge screwed us both, they might get released. I mean... probably not the alien. The rest is a firm maybe."

"I am willing to do what I can for the following: one, you and your friends will testify against Breckenridge. Two, you will turn yourselves in peacefully to the police. Three, if you can, you will get me the identities of the casino operators. I might be unable to go after them today, but I want to know who we are fighting. I will bring those people to justice. The first two are non-negotiable, the last one would go a long way to helping your case in front of a judge."

But now they might be interested in Frank's deposit box. Curious about the bank coincidence." She goes back to the guard and asks if he see if Lana could stop by.
"I could check." The guard said as he left. It took about six or so minutes, but you hear a rap upon the door followed by Lana Flemming walking through the bulkhead.

"Hello Breach. I heard you wanted to talk to me? Did the interview go that well?" She said as she looked at the state of the interrogation room.

"Lana," Breach says all smiles. "Oh the interview was fabulous. Tell me what you know about Frank Breckenridge and his involvement without that little heist we worked a while back. You know the one."

Insight Reaction? Is is she lying?: 1D20+10 = [18]+10 = 28

Lana stopped and looked at you quizzically. "The detective Breckenridge? He had nothing to do with that. We were hired to get those valuables from the safe deposit boxes." She seems to be telling the truth. She gives you a smug smile you remember from before. "I remember that job well. Normally easy to get away with a job like that. The bank's manager is lax on some of the documents so identification of the proper owner isn't always easy. Even so, little miss perfect got herself caught. Too bad about that."

She walked around the now empty interrogation chair. "I love remembering the past, but I have to wonder why you would bring that up. Still a bit sour?"

"You're sure?" Breach says. "Breckenridge has a few deposit boxes at that branch. Interesting coincidence considering how I got myself caught."
(OOC: This is where I'm curious about her telling the truth. Did she backstab me for funsies or because she's working for Frank?)

[OOC: The bank is known for being one of the largest banks in the city. It is also known for having intentionally lax verification procedures. This is intended to have the effect of making it easy to hide things there under other names (in case you don't want it under your name). This is why you would have wanted to rob it as many of the boxes you hit had been impossible to track by law enforcement. This would also be a possible reason that Frank would be keeping his documents there. It wouldn't be easy to find by people who are trying to pin him down on any of his shady business.]

"That is interesting. I wonder what sort of things he would want to hide there? You aren't suggesting we go back to our old haunt now are you? We don't normally do encores."

Vincent heard the ADA talk the talk. However, he saw her flinch when he mentioned the way he was brought in. Written all over her face is a simple truth. She has nothing on him. She can threaten all she likes, but she cannot hope to arrest Vincent.

Lana looked at you seriously. "You are serious aren't you? A bank robbery today with an hour prep at most? I like the thrill, but even I'd have to wonder at my own stupidity. Unless... do you suppose you can find the work we did on the original case job? Perhaps you could find those documents and look to see if there are any recent contracted upgrades. It is a bit of a tight bind, but if you can find it, I might give that a whirl."

At the same time this is going on Breach, your computer sends you a ping of another message exchange from the cell phones. "The deer is in the headlights. She won't interfere."

"No shit. It is a good thing that incident didn't go wide on the channel. Watch the deer. We will be in the killzone in three hours."

The little girl stuck her tongue out at the ADA, but refrained from commenting further. A part of the spirit felt inclined to roll out the whole nine yards and make the woman realize just how little she had to work with, how much she needed her master's help, but this was fine for now. "So, you want some hard evidence you can use right away, ri~ght? Get your little operation put on hold before I find myself with a lotta new friends?"

~

Vincent raised a brow at whatever Breach was planning to pull, but decided it was all leading toward their end goal one way or the other.

Breach does a quick hack into the city computers to look for construction permits and blueprints of the bank. As she's typing, "I don't know if we need to rob the place. We just need the papers to get to the ADA." She then sees if she can get into the bank and find out who is authorized to access Frank's deposit box and whether or not she can feasibly change that to Lana's identity. "If I make you authorized to access the deposit box, you can just walk in and take the papers. Assuming it isn't a double key box. I'll check that out as well."

Tech check (city comps): 1D20+18 = [10]+18 = 28
Tech check (bank): 1D20+18 = [8]+18 = 26 Spending a hero point to reroll.
Tech check (bank) Hero point: 1D10+28 = [7]+28 = 35

"I would love to end this operation. If it goes off, I doubt I could get to the end of it clean. How am I going to do that though? Tell them that I am seeing a ghost that is working for the criminals and that they say the detective is really the bad guy? Assuming they listen to me, they might not if they are corrupt as you say... or as these messages suggest, what justification do I get to have? What assurance do I have that you will get me the evidence I need to nail them to the wall?"

"I need something to work with. You have three hours to get it to me or give me probably cause so I can go get it myself. The sort of probable cause that will get me a warrant in oh say... two hours."

Since the bank robbery, there has been a repaving of the asphalt, a filed exception request to put in a tree whose size is in excess of 15 feet, a slight reworking to the customer floor layout, and one scheduled upgrade to the area with the vault. With reference to the vault, the added security feature seems to include a feature to electrify a thin layer of the vault. This was seemingly designed after you were caught so as to prevent this type of entry again. Interestingly, it is off by default and will only turn on if something triggers the alarm. A note left in there talks about this measure saving money in electricity costs.

The bank's interior security system is difficult and complex. Multiple layers of security made by different manufacturers gave this amazing security in depth. It would block you, except you have a small undiscovered rootkit on an old mailserv system. With the access to their internal network, you quickly map it and find what you are looking for. It seems that the security box is not under his own name (surprise of all surprises). However, there is one there that is under the name of "Antonio Banderas" that has a reference email you recognize from his burner phone. It is easy enough to get another person on the box so that they can enter the room. However, the box does require a key to open.

"Vincent, we need the key to Frank's deposit box. Any chance one of your friends can close enough to him to find out where it might be located? I doubt he carries around with him." Breach said. "Or maybe one of your friends can see what's in the box without opening it."

"Oh, please. Do you have any idea what I do to make money Breech? Locks mean just as little to me, if not even less, then they do for someone of your own skills. I'll lend you my skills as a lockpicker and skip the middleman, so to speak. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to help put this woman in her place."

Twisting his neck to the side with a pop, Vincent pushes up his glasses and thrusts his hands forward. A surge of ghostly power shoots up through the chain tying the Lost Girl to his soul, and now all he has to do is watch the show through her eyes.

The child closes her eyes briefly, a little smile on her face. "Lookit you, thinking you really have the reigns in this play of ours. Acting as though you actually had something to pin against my master, like you have any actual credibility. Here's the thing, though." The woman's car suddenly locks involuntarily, and all attempts to undo it become futile. A few short breaths later, and the woman would start to see her breath as the temperature inside drops dramatically. Ice starts to creep up the windows as if they were skeletal hands desperately trying to break inside.

"You're not even necessary, my Master decided to reach out to you because you were the most easy target. I could've gone to any number of those men out there, perhaps even that sweet-smiling fake just across the way. Or, we could just leave, and let all those men and woman storm the place only to be met by a haze of bullets. They all know you're here, you're not going to catch a single one of the bad men inside there today. What we're offering you is not only a chance to save their precious little mortal lives, but throwing you a bone in helping you get what you need to make that promotion, and put that mean old detective into prison as well. This is a favor."

Her eyes opened, and somehow they'd strike a chill far deeper then what was happening inside the car. "My Master will get you the evidence you need to call this whole thing off, he may even be willing to testify on your behalf. Nothing else is on the table for you. Do you understand? Do you really understand?

Renee went white as the seemingly pleasant little girl stole the warmth from her bones. She tried to conceal her abject fear but failed completely. Her breathing stopped for a moment as she gripped the door handle that simply wouldn't budge.

Her voice eventually came back, but only as a raspy squeak. "I... I... I understand your frustration with the circumstance surrounding this situation. I was just trying to move us toward a better position. If..." She paused and caught her breath in the frigid air. "If you can get me that evidence, then I can make sure you are released. Is that satisfactory?"

[OOC: She is terrified. With that performance, you get a +5 circumstance bonus on all future intimidation checks with her and a +2 on all other social checks.]
