I am not sure about the rules for improvised mechanical crafting checks. If I need to, I would expend a HP for this action.

Sorry I assumed it was an ability you already had. If not, then yes you would need to expend a HP to give your purse a different AP. Alternatively you could try to jury rig something if you have the inventor skill and some tools and more time.

There were basically two sorts of Victorian fire extinguisher. the first simply contained pressurised water like an old soda water dispenser. It had a pump handle on the top to help squirt the water. The second was the "fire" grenade which was a small grenade shaped bottle filled with carbon tetrachloride that you threw into the fire and it basically sucks up all the oxygen...(aaand was carcinogenic). What sort do you have? The first is bulky, and the second is small and non-reusable. If you shoot the first it might explode or act like a rocket, the second would just shatter, adding more chlorine to a chlorine filled environment.
