Iggy will lay out what he thinks to the group. Kn: Arcane Lore: 1d20+9 18 It coulds be stand-alone or it could be an Aid action for Manchester.
All the while he's looking for anything on interest in the Captain's cabin.

In case that isn't enough, I think Elizabeth would also be searching the cabin. Here is the check.

In the captains cabin you find the singed remains of the dead captain. There are other knickknacks and locked drawers. When you open them you discover clothing, letters and in another small lock box a collection of guilders and sovereigns. It amounts to a reasonably large sum of money.
Lady Elizabeth, although impossible to see with the naked eye you discover what appears to be a footprint. It is definitely not human. It is elongated and clawed. It is at least human sized. When you point it out to others they identify it as a rat footprint.

From what Iggy remembers from the bite wounds on the above-deck crew bodies could they be from a human-sized anthropomorphic rat?

yes, the bites could very easily be from a human sized anthropomorphic rat.
A little piece of history. After the black death struck Europe, were-rats were considered public enemy number one as they were blamed for the spread of the disease. The council of mages enacted "The Charm of Hamlin" nationwide which drew all rats and rat descendants from hiding and enabled vast numbers to be slaughtered. Since then rats have come back in large numbers but are viewed with intense suspicion. Anyone or anything associated with rats is viewed with enormous suspicion. Calling someone a dirty rat can lead to duels to the death as it is one of the most loathsome insults you can attribute someone.

Are there still were-rats? Who knows. Certainly no one would admit to it. A country plagued by them would also be viewed with great suspicion possibly even leading to sanctions and limiting travel to avoid the spread of the were-rat infestation. However Merriwether couldn't find any signs of lycanthropic infection in the corpses he examined.
If you want to make an intelligence roll to see if you know anything currently then do so. Add +2 if you have streetwise. If you want to find out more you will have to actually go and talk to people and make a gather information roll. You do have the manifest so you can ask about specific items.

Iggy will share his suspicions about the 'animal' from the attacks topside being a man-rat, "...either wererat or one changed by magic spell I don't know, but the wounds were consistent."

"Have we found anything on this ship to indicate why they wanted to wreck it specifically? They seemed to have come here expressly; Do we know why? We didn't find anything to indicate they were after something in the cargo, have we?" Iggy asks.

Elizabeth backed up slowly from the rat infested corpse. "I suppose I should go find that left-tenant. Perhaps he can help me find someone who can give us some information on who owns this ship. He might also want to know about the possible... rat problem." She began to walk up to topside and the gang-plank leading off. "Anyone want to join me?"

Iggy, there is nothing very noteworthy about this ship as far as you can tell. It is a small Dutch vessel. As far as you can tell from the log book the captain owns it.
If there is anything in particular that you might be interested in the cargo manifest? With the help of Merriwether translating you can make a search role of the cargo manifest to look for anomalies or objects of interest.

Iggy

"The pile of ash had been the sole owner according to documentation." Iggy gestures at the Captain's ashes with a booted foot.

"Finding that ill-humoured guard to report the rat situation could be of merit. If I could borrow Manchester for a quick inventory to see if anything was taken might give us direction as to where they went after leaving the ship." Iggy suggests hopefully.

When you examine the manifest you see that the goods have all been taken, low bulk -high value consumables. Coffee, tobacco, chocolate, Dutch liquor. The only obvious anomaly is a several hogsheads of English Porter. Everything else is from Holland or her colonies.

[Was the quantity such that they would have needed another ship to convey it all away? Does this indicate it was more of a piratical sea attack from another vessel?]

Iggy frowns. "Simple prophet?" he says with some confusion and a tinge of disappointment. "A wizard and a rat board a ship, kill the crew, set flame-midget-conjuring booby traps and the apparent motive is 'to take their stuff'?" His commlink carries his words to where ever the mechasuited dilettante is.

The big orc thought things through for a few moments longer before speaking. "Those look like some might big rats. Think its worth asking around if anybody has had rodent problems? Or if not here, down river at the last port of call, Port of Thames?"

Elizabeth goes down the gang-plank (with anyone who wants to go with her in tow). She goes to the door to this warehouse and finds the left-tenant that brought them here. "We may have a rat problem." She begins to relay what they have discovered so far. "Is it possible that we may have a were-rats here in port?"
