Starting you out Fatigued, at least without a save (which Jamie's Great Endurance should have helped him resist, I realized after CaptainChaos pointed it out) was likely a step too far. Though I had given you a HP to counter that if you wished. The gas was there to flush people out of the living room and discourage you from fighting a pitched battle (this worked too well, given Mel's example). It would have taken one non-Fatigued Move Action to get out of it. Russel and Jamie took the, normally reasonable, approach of preparing a defense before withdrawing. But that hurt them.

If Mel attacked from range by throwing things, she could have done damage or provided cover with the defensive option for the Aid Action, giving Russel or Jamie a bonus to their Dodge and Parry. Waiting in the room was a loosing strategy. If you tried to ambush them, the room was going to get gassed before they even went inside.

Planting your feet defensively or standing your ground in a "go out fighting" offensive strategy, was meant to be discouraged. You were supposed to work together for a withdrawal. When I noticed that wasn't happening I should have made some OOC comments to get you in the right frame of mind. Though I was finding it difficult to do so without telling you how to play out the scenario. Maybe simple reminders, such as "Maryanne has a flashlight. The other group can't see." or "Mel, there are items you can throw in this room." wouldn't be too much. I also could have puppetted Maryanne to aim the flashlight down the hall when MelonLord became busy. Things for me to think about in the future.

Thinking on it more, having Mel rescue the others works. Possibly better than my initial idea. Otherwise you'll miss out on a chunk of story. This may get a little scripted/go into narrative for portions.

Throwing was one idea, but I wasn't sure she would be able to see into the room without Maryanne lighting up the room and at that point I imagine gas would quickly follow once the door opened.

MrDent has informed me that he likely won't be able to post until Thursday. Thank you for being patient.

Blah, forgot to say how she would attack in the ic post. I'll add it tomight, but it will involve using the toaster for shock value if it's not destroyed. If destroyed, using the can lids as knives in each hand.

You mentioned toaster damage potential. Let's put it this way: Mel's Damage is rank 4 with the toaster. This on par with a Heavy Pistol. Something along the lines of Desert Eagle or .44 Magnum. Mel hits really hard with that toaster. She is caving heads in as if it were a flail.

Yup, I mainly like the visual of it and the not just simply bashing head with weapon whatever. The way I pictured it in my head was like those slow motion combat scenes where the main character somehow takes out more than he rightfully should with something that should be harmless with blood splattering everywhere and the like.

Flynnarel wrote:You mentioned the dart guns are rifles, do they, specifically the ones carrying the unconscious teens, also have light pistol sidearms? Hip holster?
How are they carrying the unconscious? Fireman's carryover a shoulder, upperbody and arms draped down over the back? Do we count as having been Grabbed?
They all have Light Pistols with suppressors for side arms at the hip. On the opposite hip they have a knife. Jamie and Russel are being carried over the shoulder "fireman carry" style. You do not count as being Grabbed. Those carrying Russel and Jamie have their rifles dangling from rigging on their chest (the Dar Rifles cannot be taken away from these people with the Disarm Action) where things like ammo, grenades, and other items they want quick access to in a fight are also being stored. At a glance you can't see all that gear. It's in pouch/pockets with flaps over them.

Don't forget to include an Initiative roll.

Still need an Initiative roll from CaptainChaos. Assuming that is up and ready, I'll try to get the NPC Initiatives and a response post up this afternoon.

Jaime and Russel don't count as being grabbed per Sakuro. So I would guess you have the full move/standard

That is correct. You may act normally and treat Jamie being carried as having no mechanical impact on what you can do.

I looked through the posts to make sure but must have missed that. I will edit my post accordingly.

I'm not going to be posting today, so you have until tomorrow to get your revised turn up CaptainChaos. After that, if you haven't, Jamie will be moved to the ends of the round so we can progress things.

I edited my post to have Jamie slip off the soldier and do an unarmed strike (kick)
