Amy's yabbering does have a purpose. She's focusing their ire on her, so the other guys are able to concentrate their attacks on the bad guys without worrying about fending off their attacks.
Plus, she's scared out of her mind and the chatter takes her mind off her fear. She also enjoys screwing with the villains heads.

Right in the middle of what? Attacks never do two bruises at once. It's two degrees of failure. -1 bruise + dazed (can't take a move and standard action)

I'm thinking about using one of the PP we're getting to gain a shapeable area heal. It won't be persistant or selective (unless I go for a lower PL), but it'll give our characters an area heal that won't use up a hero point. Does that sound like a good idea?

The shapeable area Heal was pretty useful in that last fight so I'd say go for it if you want to. Shapeable will let you heal us without giving the bad guys a boost as well I guess? Or would you need Selective for that?

It depends on where everyone is. But you would need selective to direct it to just your own people. So for now, I'll do Shapeable area. It's still more useful than just running around and healing everyone.

Next question: would it be worthwhile to do a selective on the shapeable area and bring it to PL 4? We'd still get the heal, just 2 PL's lower. I'm okay with either, but since this is for the group, you guys should get a say as well.

As a thought, if you're going with Selective, would it make sense to go with Selective Burst Area rather than Shapeable Area (with 30 cubic feet/volume rank 5), as Burst Area gives a much larger volume (a 30 foot radius sphere gives 113000 cubic feet/volume rank 17!)?

So at PL 4, the Burst Area with selective to keep the bad guys from benefiting, will give us the best bang for our buck so to speak. If everyone is cool with that, I'll do it.

You do you. If Amy is supposed to have that kind of power, buy it. If you think she's too young to have such control, don't buy it.

Going for a lower level area-burst/selective heal power does make more sense in this case. I'm not going to do an objects only heal quite yet (for Torque). She's never displayed that power, even in a power stunt.
I'm going to bank the other Power point for either a pokemon or an advantage of some sort. I might keep the fire-pokemon quest as a gag, something she's looking for but doesn't quite ever get around to getting.

So would I be right in guessing Lilly's long-distance Teleport will last for the scene (i.e. getting the prisoners out) rather than each use being a Power Stunt?

Volume in M&M is completely broken.
