Hildr had traveled to be here in New York on this particular anniversary. She normally resided in the Canadian Okanagan, so it was quite some distance, but it was an event she had observed over the television news dedicated to the first large appearance of powered individuals coming together to protect the world, one of whom from what she could gather, may well be from Asgard himself.
She hadn't been around at that time, but these had been the same heroes that had fought in Sokovia, so this year she wanted to attend this event in memorial to that day, to honour though who died, innocently or in the line of service during the attacks. The tall woman walked through the crowds where names were being called out with the sound of a bell. She could hear some dissenters, people unhappy with the destruction caused by the battle, some who blamed the heroes for specific instances of damage that hurt or killed someone dear.
This was why she came here in person. She needed to hear people like these, affected by these kinds of battles. If she intended to step forth and wage battle against that which would threaten this world, she needed to remember these people, the ones who suffered when mistakes were made or when a hero failed. The people who died despite a hero's best effort. To remind herself she was not perfect, even with all her training and that there would who may be hurt for that imperfection.
The tall asgardian redhead continues through the crowds, listening to names, bells and the comments and cries of those gathered. Her goal was to be a hero worthy of Valhalla, it was what she had trained for her whole life before being captured by the dark elves, and what she had retrained herself for since the Sokovia incident. The next time something happened that threatened this world, she would test herself and what her training had wrought.
