-Jailbait is the oddly-named girlfriend of Hotshot, and creates Energy Cages around things- effectively a Create effect.
Don't think of them as Energy Cages. Think of them as Energy Jail Cells.

In that context, and with the understanding that she's suppossed to be hot (as evidenced by her ass sticking out of her costume), the name "Jailbait" actually has some meaning.

More than "the Leader" has, anyway.

-Ravage is another long-forgotten Hulk foe, debuting in the black & white Rampaging Hulk magazine. He was a physics professor and mentor to a young Bruce Banner in the past- Bruce returns to him years later hoping to cure his emerald affliction. Crawford drains Gamma Radiation from Bruce's body... but as he himself is dying of an illness, he believes he can use the Hulk's regenerative capabilities himself, and so of course he absorbs the stuff and becomes Ravage- a monster even stronger than the Hulk. Still possessing Crawford's mind (and lust for power), he is incredibly dangerous, but keeps Bruce's original "Normal Identity" Complication, returning to human form by sunrise. He has Bruce imprisoned and then tries to become Ravage personally, going on a rampage at his school- only Banner & General Ross, forming an unlikely alliance, are able to stop him. Ravage is thus placed in a state of suspended animation. As the Rampaging Hulk title was canceled, Ravage never reappeared, despite initial plans.

-Showing up only for one appearance, Ravage was Abomination-like in his "Bigger & Stronger Than The Hulk" phase- likely, if he'd continued to appear, he would have suffered from "New Villain Stink" downgrading, and become vulnerable to an increasingly-angry Hulk.

Weakness (The Angrier She Gets, The Weaker She Gets)- Lyra will lose strength (to a mere Class 10- about Strength 7) the angrier she becomes- if goaded, she must make a Will Save against whatever is angering her (against their own Persuasion, Intimidation, or whatever), and drop Strength based off of how badly she flubbed the save.

Total: Abilities: 90 / Skills: 20--10 / Advantages: 10 / Powers: 41 / Defenses: 7 (152)

-I find this character interesting for two reasons. First, is that she's an interesting study in color schemes and when they're appropriate. See, the colour design is just UGLY here. You'd think combining two of the hottest women in the history of comics in She-Hulk & Thundra would result in the creation of some kind of spectacular Uber-Hottie, but it just doesn't WORK. The problem is the contrast of the red & green- as they're contrasting colours on the wheel (same as yellow/purple and orange/blue), they're very "showy" when put next to each other (it's why so many redheaded women in comics wear green- most artists know this), and the design loses something because of it. I think there's just too much light green in the wrong spots (the exposed belly and bare arms), and too much red in others (her long red hair). If the two colours were DARKER, or in a different ratio, they'd pair off better (the green just looks too PALE, most of the time), or if she had shorter hair or more cover on her stomach, too... Kreuzritter made a much better design with his "Durga" character (a Lesbian Amazon... Lezbazon?), as she has shorter hair and some yellow on the red costume to make the contrast stick out a bit better. This design is just ODD, and offends my artistic sensibilities (I HAVE seen one version that adds some yellow in, however).

-Second, she's a perfect example of that thing John Byrne complained about (and I've heard a few other fans share the view), in that Marvel was adding TOO MANY multiples of certain characters. This used to be something that only *DC* did to excess, with all their Super-people, Bat-people, thousands of Green Lanterns, a dozen Flashes, etc. But even in BYRNE's time at Marvel, they were trying to repeat various names all over the place. Some were for copywrite reasons (Marvel didn't want OTHER people swiping She-Hulk or Spider-Woman as names), but we also ended up with multiple past Captain Americas, James Rhodes getting his own Iron Man suit, Thunderstrike and U.S. Agent. But NOW? Things are INSANE- we've got tons of Caps, multiple Spider-Men (and NEVER MIND how many Spider-WOMEN there ended up being!), a Red Hulk, a second Abomination (A-Bomb), a Red SHE-Hulk, TWO Hulk Juniors, and now a SECOND Green She-Hulk, this one with a hyper-convoluted dumb origin.

-See, Thundra (but not OUR Thundra. That'd be too easy- this one's an ALTERNATE Thundra) impregnated herself with The Hulk's skin cells to create a super-baby, and sent her back to the main timeline to breed with the man who was that century's "Greatest Hero". Turns out that was Norman Osborn in her time, but Lyra refused to go through with it. Packing Hulk-like powers with a slight twist (she gets WEAKER if she gets angrier), she got some New Hero Stink by fighting the Dark Avengers, but is still generally weaker than She-Hulk at her peak. The character's push was short-lived, as her solo book went the way of all She-Hulk books, and she vanished, last appearing in a couple panels in Squadron Supreme, alongside her mother.

-Lyra is basically a weaker, less experienced She-Hulk, except she can do a "Trance Technique" that gives her some boosted accuracy. This is the only thing pushing her to PL 11- otherwise, she's a PL 10 Powerhouse build.

Point of order, we're down two Caps, three Spider-Men (Pete, Miles and now Ben Reilly is back,,,and crap, I forgot about Kane...that's two Scarlet Spiders!), I mean, four Spider-Men and three Hulks. Not too long ago, a "Doc Green" version of Banner Hulk went around draining the gamma radiation from a bunch of Hulks, so Skaar, A-Bomb and Betty are no longer Hulks and I think they sent Lyra back to her timeline. So now it's just Amadeus, Jen and Ross since Banner is "dead".

But I will say, that if multiple versions of the same character gets us more Alex Ross art like this promotional piece for the upcoming Generations Marvel event, I'll take it. 8-)

I've actually been playing with color wheels a bit lately, in preparation for staring a new Orc army for Warhammer. As it so happens, green and purple are two parts of a "Triadic Harmony," with the third being orange. Which explains why Banner's purple trousers look so good and Jean Grey's red hair (which is actually more orange-y) looked good with her Phoenix uniform.

And yes, my orcs are going to wear purple pants and rusty orange armor.

-Frost is a shortly-running Hulk opponent- like many/most Hulk nemeses, he was affected by Gamma Radiation. He managed to escape an experiment-minded Leader after being turned into an android, and ended up as an enforcer in Las Vegas for a crime family. When confronted by The Hulk, he initially got a good showing (Hulk couldn't break his grip, but the fight was called off), but the next time they met, Hulk ripped his head off (a trademark of this generation of "Gamma-Irradiated Leader Experiments"), and there was an explosion, with Frost nowhere to be seen.

-Frost is basically a high-powered nobody, a PL 10 because he had to fight THE HULK, though of course Jade Jaws fought through the Ice Snare effect (called "Frosting") and handily-beat him later.

THE HEADSHOP
Created By:
Peter David & Angel Medina
First Appearance: The Incredible Hulk #437 (Jan. 1996)
Role: Goofy Side-Characters
Group Affiliations: The Headshop

-Sharing an origin with Frost, these guys were gamma-irradiated civilians who were captured by The Leader, who placed their heads on android bodies. Escaping, the five formed The Headshop (a "Head Shop" is lingo for a store that sells marijuana paraphernalia- Peter David is attempting to be cute). Chief Largo, their leader, initially brawls with the Hulk, but soon comes to his aid when he's captured by the U.S. Army- he intends to ally with Jade Jaws in order to fight The Leader for transforming them. Alas, Leader was thought-dead by this point already, so the Headshop leaves unfulfilled, never to return.

Yeah, I'm always looking for stuff like that, as I recently got a bunch of specially-made monochrome Battle Beasts, and I want to repaint their armor to give them new color schemes. Finding good contrast & harmonious colors is essential for that.

What I've found is that white ALWAYS goes well with blue. It's part of why Elsa's design overwhelmed the world when Frozen came out. Green & Red are excellent colors together, but are also quite "blinding", and can be garish in large amounts. It's also iconic to Christmas.

My Warhammer Lizardmen army are a bright, colorful green, with darker red stripes- I think it makes them "pop" visually, and avoids the "monochromatic Lizards with unified monochromatic shields" look that too many Lizardmen armies have.
