-The father of Jim Wilson- the Hulk's old friend who died of AIDS. This presumably makes him the older brother, never-before-seen, of Sam "The Falcon/SamCap" Wilson. He uses titanium knuckles to fight. Gideon realized that he was really just blaming himself for Jim's death. His powers effectively make him a "Reverse Doc Samson"- his strength grows the shorter his hair is. Naturally, this means he shaves his head constantly, and actually grows weaker the longer he goes without doing so.

-Prodigy (the THIRD character by that name- a Slinger and a Young X-Man are/were his predecessors. Would it have killed Tieri to check this? They were even active superheroes still!) suffered averse effects in the womb when his mother was frightened by the Hulk (it would later turn out it was due to her heroin addiction)... wait, how old does this make everyone in the Marvel Universe if a Private in the Army was born after the Hulk first became active? He was made a genius thanks to The Leader's DNA, as well as limited Psionic abilities & Mental Blasts.

GRIFFIN II (Private First Class Eliot "Crafty" Franklin, aka The Clown)

The second Clown was Eliot's brother and latter left the Circus to work for Zodiac (the individual not the group). As a result a third Clown has appeared in the Circus.

Yeah, I was like "wait, THE CLOWN is one of these guys?" when doing the list. I think I'd actually statted up the guy first (most of the Gamma Corps were just the same build with some different powers attached, which is why posting them all in one day was so easy), then read that, and simply stuck powers on my own build of him for the Circus of Crime.

I would imagine all the Clowns would have the same stats: terrible ones :).

Fragment

FRAGMENT
Created By:
Peter David & Dwayne Turner
First Appearance: The Incredible Hulk #328 (Feb. 1986)
Role: Mind Controller
PL 10 (115)
STRENGTH
2/12 STAMINA 2/12 AGILITY 0
FIGHTING 8 DEXTERITY 0
INTELLIGENCE 0 AWARENESS 3 PRESENCE 3

Skills:
Deception 6 (+9)
Insight 4 (+7)
Persuasion 6 (+9)

Advantages:
Daze (Persuasion), Fascination (Persuasion)

Powers:
Teleport 8 (Extras: Accurate) (24) -- [26]
  • AE: Illusion (Visuals) 5 (Flaws: Will Save) (5)
  • AE: Mind-Reading 8 (16)
Growth 10 (Str & Sta +10, +10 Mass, +5 Intimidation, -5 Dodge/Parry, +1 Speed, -10 Stealth) -- (42 feet) [20]

"Puts Himself Back Together"
Immunity 20 (Bludgeoning Damage) (Flaws: Limited to Half-Effect) [10]
Regeneration 4 [4]

Offense:
Unarmed +8 (+2 Damage, DC 17)
Growth +8 (+12 Damage, DC 27)
Initiative +0

Defenses:
Dodge +8 (DC 18), Parry +8 (DC 18), Toughness +2, Fortitude +2, Will +4
"Full Size" Dodge +3 (DC 3), Parry +3 (DC 13), Toughness +12, Fortitude +12, Will +4

Complications:
Vulnerable (Shattering)- Heavy bludgeoning impacts can separate Fragment into multiple pieces. Failing a toughness save against such things by three degrees (before halving for damage) will knock him into pieces that take a few rounds to put back together, regardless of how much his Immunity would have saved him.
Motivation (Furthering Others' Neuroses)- Fragment likes to push people into despair, possibly feeding off of such emotions.

Total: Abilities: 36 / Skills: 16--8 / Advantages: 2 / Powers: 60 / Defenses: 9 (115)

-Fragment is an odd one-off character- a black-outfitted guy seemingly made up of interlocked pieces (like a jigsaw puzzle), he tries to push the Hulk into despair, reading his mind and trying to push all of his buttons. The Hulk repeatedly shatters Fragment's body, but the guy keeps coming back, owing to regenerative power. Reverting to Banner, our hero refuses to be pushed into killing his opponent, thus saving his soul. He thinks the whole thing might have been a dream... until he sees the damage the Hulk's struggle has caused. We never see Fragment again, nor receive any explanation as to who or what he is.

Marvel does have a habit of this, but they usually counter it by having the previous character disappear while the new character is in comics that are on sale. There are some exceptions such as Captain Marvel & Spectrum but is usually to sales affecting the new character's run (ie extending it past when it was suposed to end).#

Which of the three Prodigys was pyrokenetic? I distintly remember that one of them was a fire-starter. A twisted fire-starter. Yeah.

There have actually been four separate characters called Prodigy (Not including when Spider-Man briefly used the name) at least three of them were using the name at the same time.

Gideon Wilson is Sam Wilson's brother, he has recently reappeared now working as as a pastor who Sam has occasionally visited for advice. Given the recent universe reset, I don't know if his time with the Gamma Corps is still a part of the current Gideon's history

This feels like a "little from Column A, a little from Column B" kind of thing.

Electrocution +8 (+9 Damage, DC 24)
Initiative +5

Defenses:
Dodge +8 (DC 18), Parry +8 (DC 18), Toughness +11, Fortitude --, Will +5

Complications:
Responsibility (Mekka)- Torgo is at times the leader of Mekka, and fear of its devastation has sent him against the heroes of Earth more than once.

Total: Abilities: 42 / Skills: 24--12 / Advantages: 15 / Powers: 47 / Defenses: 10 (126)

-Torgo is a living robot from the world of Mekka, in which all of the inhabitants are sentient machines. He was a gladiator forced to do combat via blackmail, and ended up befriending The Thing while he was also a captive. However, the two were set to do battle- Torgo gained the upper hand due to his skill with weapons, but Ben soon took the advantage- when pressed, he refused to kill his fallen foe. The rest of the Fantastic Four arrived and saved the weapon being aimed at Torgo's planet (meant to ensure his loyalty), and Torgo led a rebellion against the slavers. In a later story, he attempts to prevent Mr. Fantastic & The Thing from leaving Mekka (where he has become their leader- "The First Among Equals"), fearing that they'll tell Galactus of their homeworld (they were searching for a planet for the Devourer of Worlds to consume, but rejected Mekka, as the sentient robots were "alive" enough for them). He was about to turn them into Mekkans, but Mr. Fantastic earned their trust after deactivating the Tower of Life that powered their world, then reactivated it out of good faith.

-Torgo appeared in a few more stories, often as a "hey- this guy is still a thing!" sort of deal- he was beheaded by a villain until the Thing & Captain Marvel had him rebuilt, and later he was allied with some other space-based heroes to aid the Hulk against The Galaxy Master. He later allied with The Collector and fought Wolverine during his attempts to stop Galactus- he was last seen being blasted into space in this 1999 Wolverine tale. Though apparently showed up in the recent failed Drax series, written by former pro-wrestler/MMA washout CM Punk!

-Torgo is a very good fighter for what is ordinarily a "Kill-O-Bot" type of build, even packing a unique Staff-like weapon that can either strangle or electrocute people as well. Not a bad little character, though his "could go toe-to-toe with The Thing" days are long ago enough that his PL is below the major Earth heroes.

Torgo was most recently seen in the CM Punk-written Drax series, from which the second picture above is drawn.
