Here is Jinpei, AKA: G-4. He is the "kid" of the group and the "sometimes comic relief". In the American version, he was named Keyop.

Jinpai operated a unique vehicle in that it was hard to describe. It was a sort of rescue vehicle crossed with an insect... No really...

It had an assortment of manipulator arms that could come out of the "mouth". It had tracks and thrusters allowing for it to fly.

Jinpei's primary weapon was bolos. He could throw them to ensnare a target or could throw explosive bolos.

Jun (Princess in Battle of the Planets) is the sole female of the team. She is designated G-3. She is as skilled as the other members and can hold her own in a fight. Her costume motif is that of a swan. She was one of the first main characters that I remember growing up that was smart as well as being the attractive eye-candy for the boys. She was the teams techie/scientist as well as the voice of reason in many instances. In the Gatchaman II OVA's, she is seen as being very athletic and a proficient diver/swimmer.

Jun's personal vehicle is a souped-up futuristic motorcycle.

Her personal weapon of choice was a yo-yo. Oh but no ordinary yo-yo.. Oh No!!.. This was a Gatchaman Yo-Yo. The yo-yo was able to spool out and auto-return (kinda like a Yo-Ball [Google time!!] ) It could be equipped for a variety of needs. She could throw it to ensnare a target. To electrocute them, blow them up, to use it as a swingline... etc etc.

He operates an advanced race car.

His primary weapon is a hand gun, but he also uses "Throwing feathers" that are capable of neutralizing a target very quickly and quietly.

Ryu is the heavy hitter of the team. I always thought that he was a strange character. He can jump, fly and glide like the who team, but he is twice any of their weights. He has a pudgy build but in the series you are led to believe that it is mostly muscle. Ryu's motif for his outfit is that of an owl. RYu is the teams defacto muscle AND pilot of the Phoenix. He usually pilots the Phoenix and then switches it to autopilot when the team goes into action.

Ryu does not have a personal vehicle in the strictest sense as he pilots the Phoenix.

Ryu's weapon of choice is the whip. I don't really remember him using it in the Battle of the Planets, but he does in later shows.

Here are the basic soldiers that seem to be ever-present for the Gatchaman team to beat on. I based them low since it seems that Galactor, like other evil organizations, recruit from the scuk if society. If there are any specialized characters that have skills above and beyond the normal gook, then they would be their own characters.

I have to do some research so that I can bring ZOLTAR to life... or at least stats.

Hmm. Mostly it seems okay.

If it were me, I would have put more in his active defenses and less into the body armour; honestly, I never really git a sense that the bird suits were armoured. I also would have given him a bit more Stamina and Fortitude.

I also don't agree with the Razor Boomerang build.

I'd have given either more ranks of Reach (and I would have used Reach(Melee), just to get the benefit of his high FIGHTING and Close Attack), or else I would have gone Increased Range, and Diminished Range. In any event, when he throws it, it should go more than 5 ft. And it needs a better chance to hit.

I might have also given the Razor Rang an Alternate Effect which is Damage, Area, Selctive.

I don't recall what the Stunning Strike is.

He also needs 1/5th of the group Whirlwind Attack. I know they could do with smaller numbers of present teammates.

I can see that. I saw a couple of pictures that showed the suit a little more bulked. I envisioned the suit being able to stop handguns at least. I can lower the protection and up the Active Defenses.

I'll have to look at the build again. As an afterthought.. I thought of giving it something like the "Returning" and Ricochet.

This was one of the stumbling blocks that I had. A whirlwind attack that requires all 5 members to be together and have enough room to perform it.

I also pondered giving each member their vehicle as part of their stats.

Interesting stuff- I actually bought a DVD at random because it featured the final five episodes. It's VERY dated now ('70s anime is NOT pretty), but surprisingly bloody (it was the original, unedited show).

Berg Katse was the second-in-command officer of Galactor, working directly under the true leader, Sosai X and a major antagonist in Science Ninja Team Gatchaman.
Berg Katse was created by the alien Sosai X to lead the terrorist organization Galactor to take over the world. Berg Katse is actully a gestalt/binary entity created through the fusion of fraternal twins while they were still in the womb. Because "their" component parts were male and female, Berg Katse is prone to switch sexes almost every year in their life, forcing them to hide their identity until they could control it in their adulthood, becoming a master of disguise as a result.
This bizarre burden led to them to be easily recruited and manipulated by Sōsai X when he contacted Katse and convinced them that they were a superior being. Katse being composed of two people also enabled them to bear an exceptionally high IQ, although their intelligence was only displayed when they were a female student, as professors who taught their male form believed the boy to not be as intelligent. It can be assumed that their strength was likewise linked to their male form.
