HISTORY:
Clarice was born on the island of Cartusia in the Bahamas, but her parents immigrated to the United States when she was four years old, and raised her in Miami. Although born with pointed ears, facial markings, and purple skin and hair, Clarice lived a relatively normal life until the rise of Apocalypse. When Apocalypse's culling led by Sinister reached Florida, Clarice's parents were slaughtered, but not before they hid her so that she would not be found. Clarice was still captured and placed into the slave pens. There, she found comfort with her only companion, the young Illyana Rasputina, and was regularly experimented on by both the Sugar Man and the Dark Beast.

Surviving into her teenage years, Clarice was rescued from the pens by Sabretooth, a member of the mutant rebels known as the X-Men, and welcomed into their number. During a period when Apocalypse was recuperating from a near-death experience on the Moon's Blue Area, the X-Men convinced the frightened Clarice to muster up the bravery to teleport them there. They clashed with Apocalypse's Horseman Death, a member of the Inhumans. With the help of the prelate Cyclops, Clarice freed her comrades and stop Maximus' attempt to usurp control of Apocalypse's forces, destroying Apocalypse's ship in the process before returning to Earth.

Sometime later, Clarice became a full-fledged member of the team, taking up the codenamed Blink. However, she was often brash and careless in her attempts to fight Apocalypse's forces. After disobeying orders while attempting to stop a culling in Texas, Blink used her powers to put the Impossible Man, a diplomat from the planet Popup out of his misery after being subject to ghastly experiments by the Dark Beast. Afterward, the X-Men's leader Magneto warned Clarice that if she acted out of line again, he would be forced to eject her from the X-Men. Seeking to prove herself she attempted to infiltrate Apocalypse's citadel and witnessed Holocaust battling Blastaar, ruler of the Negative Zone. Believing that Blastaar's forces would make ideal allies in the X-Men's cause to defeat Apocalypse, Clarice secretly crossed through Blastaar's portal.

Losing her memory after journeying through the portal, Clarice joined up with Ahmyor, a freedom fighter seeking to oust Blastaar from leadership in the Negative Zone and return its previous leader Annihilus to power. While helping Ahmyor's rebellion, Clarice fell in love with him. However, the pair were soon captured by Blastaar's forces and made prisoners, and Blastaar revealed to Blink that her beloved Ahmyor was in reality Annihilus and that he was plotting to use the Annihilation Cannon to destroy the Earth. Blastaar told her that Ahmyor had no idea of his true identity, but Blastaar suggested that Ahmyor had manipulated her into joining his rebellion by showing her a quiver that Ahmyor had in his possession since the day they met. Breaking out of her cell, Blink recovered her quiver and remember who she really was. She then used her powers to save Ahmyor (who was now transforming back into Annihilus) and send the Annihilation Cannon away to blow up Blastaar's kingdom before being transported back home and reunited with the X-Men.

In recent times, Blink was dispatched along with her teammate Sunfire to Chicago to investigate rumors that Apocalypse was resuming his cullings even though he had signed the Kelly Pact with the Human High Council. They found that not only was there a culling going on, but it was being overseen by Holocaust. Attacked by Apocalypse's forces, and with Sunfire injured, Blink had no choice but to teleport them both back to the X-Men's base at the old Xavier estate, even though it brought the Prelate Delgado into their midst. However, Blink closed her portal while he was halfway through, killing him instantly. While Magneto sent various squads of X-Men to collect the means to see if the stranger Bishop's claims of a fractured reality were true, he sent a team led by his wife Rogue to deal with Holocaust's culling in Chicago. This team included Blink and her savior Sabretooth.

While helping her fellow X-Men stop the culling and freeing those in the slave pens, Sabretooth faced Holocaust alone, and was beaten nearly to death. When Blink and the others infiltrated Holocaust's Infinite processing plant, Blink came across Sabretooth's unconscious body. Thinking Sabretooth to be dead, she fought against Holocaust alone, holding her own against the Horseman until her fellow X-Men arrived. Overpowering Holocaust, the villain escaped, but not before telling Rogue that his father Apocalypse had Magneto, their son Charles, and a fragment of the M'Kraan Crystal in his possession.

Blink was among the X-Men strike force that stormed Apocalypse's citadel to get everything back, and hopefully return reality to normal. Although there were many casualties, Apocalypse was killed and Bishop went back in time to prevent the death of Charles Xavier, something that was supposed to revert reality back to normal. Instead, the mission resulted the divergence of Earth-616 from Earth-295, making them distinct realities. Blink survived the ordeal, and as the nuclear warheads sent by the Human High Council were about to destroy her world, Blink became unhinged in time.

Blink found herself transported to a desert beyond time and space along with various other X-Men from alternate realities. They included Nocturne (Talia Wagner) of Earth-2182, Mimic of Earth-12, Morph of Earth-1081, Thunderbird of Earth-1100, and Magnus of Earth-27. A mysterious being named the Timebroker explained that she had become unhinged from time, and was to join a team of five others to fix altered timelines so that they could return home. If they failed, their lives would end in tragedy; if they were to die on missions they would be replaced. Blink had the most to lose, as she was told by the Timebroker that since her reality no longer existed she would cease to exist as well. Arming Blink with the Tallus a device that would tell them what their mission objectives would be, the Exiles (as they'd soon come to call themselves) were sent to Earth-1815 to determine who their leader would be. Finding themselves on a world where all super-humans were incarcerated, the Exiles thought that freeing Charles Xavier would fix the timeline. However, after freeing Xavier, they learned that in this reality he was evil. The Exiles worked together to stop the evil Xavier and his X-Men, freeing all of the world's captive super-heroes, losing their teammate Magnus in the battle. Blink became the Exiles' reluctant leader - her teammates reasoning that her greater distance from the 'default' realities would make her less uncomfortable dealing with corrupted versions of people who would have been her teammates' colleagues - and Magnus was replaced with Sunfire of Earth-2109.

Blink was the backbone of the team, forming close friendships with her teammates and slowly forming a relationship with her teammate Mimic. On Earth-8649, Blink and the others helped the X-Men stop an insane Jean Grey who had become the Dark Phoenix, and then help Alpha Flight of Earth-901237 contain the Hulk before taking a break on Earth-6955 before another series of missions.

Blink led the Exiles through Earth-2318 (a world where the Savage Land spanned two continents), Earth-20318 (where they acted as bodyguards for President Tony Stark), Earth-23018 (A world where everyone was mutated by gamma rays), Earth-39102 (the world of the Antelope Men), Earth-32081 (hope of the Spider-Demon), Earth-971023 (populated by X-Babies), and stopping a bank robbery on Earth-9212 and being granted yet another vacation. They next settled on Earth-5692, a world conquered by the Skrulls who had enslaved the people of Earth and forced its super powered population to fight in a gladiator arena. Only Blink and Morph avoided capture, and they would work with this reality's Reed Richards to free their friends, however the Skrulls fleed upon the arrival of the planet devourer Galactus. Blink and her comrades rallied the superhero population into battling Galactus, defeating him, but at the loss of her teammate Thunderbird, replaced by Sasquatch of Earth-3470.

Next the Exiles were transported to Earth-2600, where they were joined by another group of reality jumpers known as Weapon X, who were lead (much to Blink's surprise) by Sabretooth of her home reality. Both teams were charged with rescuing David Richards from Sentinel captivity, however they learned that it would be so they could kill David, as he would become a tyrant upon becoming an adult. Blink, unable to bring herself to kill young David, convinced Sabretooth to join their side in defending the boy from Weapon X. Ultimately, Sabretooth agreed to stay behind on Earth-2600 to insure that young David would grow up to be a savior instead of a menace, completing both teams' missions.

Their next mission, Blink and her comrades found themselves on Earth-1016 where they were forced to help Dr. Doom defeat Namor and prevent him from conquering the world. During this mission Mimic became colder toward Clarice due to the requirement that he kill Namor to complete the mission. On Earth-21117 they found the entire west coast was invaded by lizard creatures spawned by Curt Connors, a mission that ended when Connors commited suicide. Their mission was hijacked briefly by the extra-dimensional tyrant known as Mojo, seeking to capture Morph and force him back into showbiz. Blink and the other Exiles recruited Longshot and help free their friend before the Timebroker would pull them out of the Mojoverse and back on track.

Blink and the other Exiles next wound up on Earth-8545, a world where a combination of Warlock's Transmode Virus and the Legacy Virus created an invasive species of Technarc/human hybrids known as the Vi-Locks. The Exiles worked with that world's Avengers to find a cure by summoning the Asgardians and using their blood as a cure. Upon their mission's success, the Timebroker appeared and told Blink that her reality was fixed and that she would be sent back home. Despite the groups desire to keep Blink on, she was replaced by Magik of Earth-4210.

However, since at the time Earth-295 did not exist, Blink was instead sent back to Earth-2600, where 20 years had passed and David Richards had grown to be a young man. She appeared just as Sabretooth and the adult David Richards would be preparing for their final assault against the Sentinels. Blink aided in liberating their world. However, David became power-mad, taking control of Blink and her powers and using her to track down the human scientists who had been secretly controlling the Sentinels for years, and forced her to slay them. Sabretooth slaughtered David, freeing Blink from his control. However, she was pulled back into the fold of the Exiles following their battle on Earth-321 where a Brood-controlled Mimic had accidentally slain Sunfire. She avoided talking about her experiences on Earth-2600, only telling her comrades that she went back to that world.

Despite the fact that Morph blamed Mimic for Sunfire's death, and the constant friction between the team and Magik, Blink brought the group together when it mattered most. By this time Weapon X was being controlled by the evil Hyperion of Earth-4023 who was derailing the group to try to find a world to rule. Finding two teams no longer viable, the Timebroker pit the two teams against each other on Earth-4400 to cull their ranks into one team. Blink, the Exiles, and the defecting Gambit worked together to seemingly slay Hyperion. By the battle's end only Blink, Morph, Mimic, Nocturne, and Sasquatch remained.

Unknown to the group, Hyperion survived and broke free, enslaving insectoids dubbed the Timebreakers (the beings that were really manipulating the Exiles after they damaged the multiverse) and began forcing them to meddle in the Exiles' missions. Travelling to Earth-616, the Exiles had to deal with their new teammate Namora from Earth-2189 who brought them into conflict with this reality's Fantastic Four and Sub-Mariner before learning that they had to leave their teammate Nocturne behind and have her replaced with X-Man Beak, an addition that the Exiles would find nearly useless. On Earth-14845 they clashed with an insane Impossible Man.

When travelling to Earth-5423, the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants kidnaped Clarice and replaced her with Mystique who manipulated the Exiles into springing out the Big M, this reality's version of Mimic. However, Blink freed herself and the Exiles ultimately showed the Big M the errors of his ways, making him reform to a more peaceful existence. In their next mission, Blink and the other Exiles helped Reed Richards defend his sentient world of Earth-4162 from Ego the Living Planet. During this adventure, Blink would encounter the Celestials who warned her to beware the "Timebreakers". In one of their most offbeat adventures, Blink and the Exiles saved Earth-26292 from an invasion from the Shi'ar by purchasing a single danish.

By this time, Hyperion was finalizing his plan to get revenge against the Exiles. They were sent to the magical world of Earth-37072 where they were briefly be transformed into Hyborian era warriors until freed by Spider-Man and Kulan Gath and aided in overthrowing the reality's ruler Zarathos, preventing him from taking over the entire Earth. Their encounter on this world caused the spirit of Tanaraq to take control of Blink's teammate Sasquatch. The spirit sought the geniuses of Earth-50358 to help him learn the secret of the Tallus. However the Exiles defeated Tanaraq by tricking his Earth-50358 counterpart into destroying him, freeing Heather from his curse (although Hyperion secretly removed her from the group).

On the next world, Blink was forced to face her past when they were transported to Earth-2600 where Blink had to own up to what David Richards made her do. When Blink learned that their mission would be to kill Mimic, she refused, and Hyperion (acting through the Timebroker construct) transferred leadership to Sabretooth, however the Exiles still refused to slay their comrade, forcing the "Timebroker" to send them on. Much to their surprise, they would be transported back to Blink and Sabretooth's native Earth-295, recently restored to existence, and they would be forced to admit a new member to their group: Holocaust (also of Blink and Sabretooth's world). This would lead to a brief clash with Blink's old allies the X-Men and their leader Magneto before the team refused to work for the Timebroker any longer and used the M'Kraan Crystal to try and stop him.

Ultimately, the Exiles ended up in the Panoptichron (later referred to as the Crystal Palace) and learned the true nature of their mission. They battled Hyperion, leading to the deaths of Holocaust and Namora, and Mimic being seriously injured. It would not be until Beak would pull the Hyperion's of Earth-712 and Earth-5764 to defeat the evil Hyperion and trap him on his native Earth-4023. With Hyperion's threat ended the Exiles would agree to continue to operate but using the Crystal Palaces resources to their full effect.

Freeing various injured and defeated Exiles from the stasis wall and sending them home, Blink would attempt to heal Mimic's injuries, which they would ultimately succeed by getting Mimic to mimic the powers of Deadpool of Earth-5021. After helping the heroes of Earth-3752 quell and attack between Krakoa and Fin Fang Foom the Exiles would agree to help Beak get back home to his wife and children.

Before leaving, Blink would address her dislike of the fact that Mimic's use of Deadpool's powers causing his skin to become deformed, however they would hit trouble when the healing factor proved so powerful that it prevented Mimic from mimicking another power to replace it. They would then attempt to bring Beak back to his home reality of Earth-616, unfortunately for the Exiles they would arrive just as the world was being altered by Scarlet Witch's reality warp, supplanting Earth-616 with Earth-58163, a world where mutants ruled. They would track down Beak's wife Angel who in this reality was a famous fashion model. Their search for her would lead to a clash with the evil mutant Kevin MacTaggert a mutant serial killer dubbed Mutant X. When Mutant X possessed Angel, Blink and the other Exiles would recruit the aid of Moira MacTaggert, Kevin's own mother to help stop him. In the final battle, Mutant X (now calling himself Proteus) would be forced out of Angel's body and take possession of Mimic. He would then steal information out of the Tallus and learn how to use his powers to jump to different realities, hoping to find a body that is powerful enough to sustain his body and not burn out. Blink would use a serum prepared to cure Mimic of his deformity to help Beak cure Angel of her injuries and the Exiles would leave Beak behind to hunt down Proteus in the hopes of freeing Mimic.

Blink and the others would follow Mimic/Proteus to Earth-148611, diverging it to Earth-15731, where Proteus sought to possess Kenneth Connell possessor of the Star Brand, a powerful energy source native of that reality. Blink and the Exiles would meet that world's team of paranormals known as DP7, and later would clash with Connell who believed they were alien invaders. However, they would convince Connell to help them too late to prevent Proteus from burning out Mimic's body and taking possession of the hero known as Justice, before the Exiles could take him down. Not even the aid of Nightmask and the addition of Longshot to Exiles could stop Proteus, who would escape to another reality -- but not without providing the Exiles with at least one advantage in the future: When Proteus absorbed Mimic's mind, he also absorbed his love for Clarice as well.

Before tackling Proteus again, Blink and the others would be injected with a tiny piece of metal to prevent Proteus from taking possession of their bodies in the future. They would next follow Proteus to the Earth-982 diverging it to Earth-6375, a world currently in the distant future year of 2099. In this reality, Blink and the Exiles would work with Spider-Man of that reality to try and stop Proteus from possessing the body of that world's Hulk. They would fail, and in the process Spider-Man's true identity of Miguel O'Hara would be revealed to the world and he would petition to accompany them on their next reality jump to stop Proteus.

Proteus would trick Blink and the Exiles into going to Earth-712, where they would be detained by that world's Squadron Supreme who were convinced by Proteus that the Exiles were out of control. However, put on a mock trial, Blink -- with the help of Heather from the Crystal Palace -- would show the Squadron their hypoactive judging them and would help them defeat the Global Directorate, however before they could go Power Princess would impose herself on the group.

Power Princess would supplant Blink's leadership on their trip to Earth-9200 to prevent Proteus from taking possession of the Maestro, deciding to team-up with the Maestro to try and gain the upper hand. However, this gambit would fail in an unlikely way, Proteus would be forced to possess Blink's teammate Morph, and to his surprise was the ideal body he was seeking the whole time. When Proteus would escape this time, Blink would take back control of the Exiles, not wishing to lose another teammate to the monster who killed the love of her life.

When Proteus would attempt to return to his home reality, Heather would force him to instead end up on Earth-616's Counter-Earth, where he would attempt to destroy the world with the aid of Order and Kaos. However, Blink and the Exiles, with the aid of the Young Allies would succeed in placing a modified b-mod machine (from Earth-712) on Proteus's head, submerging everything but Morph's personality. With their mission a success, Blink and her teammates would have a new problem: maintaining the belief that Proteus was really their old teammate Morph.

Blink and the other Exiles would take a break from the reality repairing in order to return the dead and injured former members of the Exiles and Weapon X to their native realities. Blink would initially try to bury Mimic's body in the desert room of the Crystal Palace, until Sabretooth would convince her to return him to his native reality. Blink would return Mimic to his native Earth-12, where he she would be present for his funeral among that world's X-Men, they would offer her to join their team however she would consider it. When she would be called to Heather's native Earth-3470 to help the Exiles and Alpha Flight stop Soviet Super-Soldiers from unleashing Chernobog, a Darkforce creature loose in their reality. However, when they completed their mission, Blink and the Exiles would find that the Timebreakers had "fired" them for not following their orders and taking time away from their mission to fix broken realities.

The Timebroker's solution would be to attempt to stop Brother Mutant of Earth-127 by ending a team of Exiles comprising of alternate realty versions of Wolverine, due to the fact that he is the "best there is", however each attempt at a new team of Wolverine based Exiles would fail, and nearly every Wolverine would be taken under the control of Brother Mutant. Realizing the grave error they had made, the Timebreakers would re-recruit Blink and the other Exiles to help the remaining Wolverine's stop Brother Mutant, after which they turned control over of their mission officially to Blink and the others.

Clarice and the others were next sent to Earth-552, a world where Galactus was a healer of worlds and his former herald the Silver Surfer was a vengeful killer that destroyed the Earth and decimated most of the Shi'ar Imperial Guard. Blink and the others would hold off the Silver Surfer's galactic quest to eliminate Galactus until Sabretooth briefly gained the Power Cosmic to combat, and ultimately destroy the Surfer.

On Earth-27536 on a mission to save J. Jonah Jameson from the Sinister Six, Blink would be injured by Electro requiring for her to spend time recovering. However, when she had fully recovered, she would learn that on subsequent missions the Exiles would end up in situations where Proteus's personality would manifest more and more frequently, requiring them to regularly submit him to b-mod treatments.

Blink and the others would next go on a mission to investigate the appearance of a team of Exiles resembling the original team on Earth-33629. In combating the group, they would eventually learn that it was a contest orchestrated by the Grandmaster of that reality, and the Grandmaster of Earth-1815, the first world the Exiles ever visited. Realizing the deception, both teams would confront the Grandmasters and be killed. However when the Elders of the Universe would arrive to punish their errant "brother", they would resurrect Blink and the others and return them to the Crystal Palace and leave their Earth-33629 counterparts to remain as that world's defenders.

She continued to give her best to the team, and after several long missions, took a break, leaving Sabretooth to continue as leader in her place. When that iteration of the team was disbanded, Blink was drawn back to the Panoptichron as a secretive inside trainer for new teams of reality fixers, and she remained in this role even after they discovered who she really was.

As soon as he learned of the emergence of a creature called the Time-Eater that devoured entire timelines faster than new ones could be created, the Unseen from the Prime Marvel Universe orchestrated the reformation of the Exiles. After being delivered the Tallus by a much younger version of himself, the Unseen used it to lure Blink to the Blue Area of the Moon, so she could use her experience of multiversal travelling to assemble a new incarnation of the Exiles and investigate the Time-Eater. Acting on its own volition, the Tallus teleported Blink to different realities so she could encounter specific inhabitants and make off with them at the last second before the Time-Eater consumed their timeline. This way Blink encountered Khan, an older Ms. Marvel of a post-apocalyptic world, Iron Lad from a timeline he never traveled back in time to join the Young Avengers, Valkyrie from a reality where she was the sole defender of Asgard, and Wolvie, the Wolverine from Mojoworld's Adorable X-Babies. The Tallus then transported Blink and the team back to the Prime Marvel Universe to report to the Unseen; however, the Tribunal of Watchers appeared to punish him for breaking the vow of non-interference, and in the subsequent altercation the Tallus was shattered, sending the Exiles flying into the timestream.

With the Tallus' navigation systems damaged, the Exiles began jumping between universes, visiting a world of cyborg dinosaurs and a world where Namor was a hippy ruler both of which were destroyed by the Time-Eater. Before arriving on Earth-86315 where they met Becky Barnes and Captain America (Peggy Carter) and joined them on a mission to stop Red Skull from dropping an atomic bomb on a city. On the Red Skulls airship Cap set off a bomb, forcing Blink to teleport everyone out and taking the bomb with them to avoid the small explosion setting off the larger bomb and dispersing the radiation. The group celebrated, until they discovered too late the bomb had been damaged and exploded, which teleported the group away.

During one of these jumps, the Tallus became displaced. On their way to find it, the Exiles joined forces with an anti-slavery pirate crew led by a version of The Thing also known as Blackbeard. When the Exiles recovered the Tallus, it took them to the lunar headquarters of the Time-Eater. The evil creature turned out to be a version of Kang the Conqueror, who absorbed the power of many Galactuses from different universes. The end result gave him the ability to devour realities, which he intended to use to become the Multiverse itself. While confronting the Time-Eater, the Exiles were joined by a younger version of Nick Fury who had been pulled into Kang's palace while fighting the villain back in his home universe. Iron Lad deduced that bringing the Tallus back to when Blink reunited with it could reverse Kang's consumption of the Multiverse. Nick Fury took it to himself to deliver the Tallus to the Unseen, and Blink and Khan accompanied him through most of the journey of jumping through realities to travel back in time. In the process, the Time-Eater sent an army of Kangs to stop the Exiles, and Khan sacrificed herself to keep them at bay. After Fury successfully delivered the Tallus to the Unseen at the cost of his own life, Blink rallied an army of alternate versions of herself and many of the heroes the Exiles had encountered in this adventure, and returned to the Time-Eater's palace. The combined might of the heroes overpowered the Time-Eater and destroyed it. The damage caused to the Multiverse was reversed for the most part. However, when the Unseen reunited with the Exiles, he warned them their services would be needed to heal the Multiverse.

Blok is a member of the Legion of Super-Heroes. He hails from Dryad, a planet inhabited by species of sentient rock-creatures.

The planet was later colonized by humans and the colony was known as Korlon. They later discovered a sentient race of rock-like beings, known as "Dryads", who lived there and were befriended by the colonists.

When Blok first met the Legion he was a member of the League of Super-Assassins. This team was manipulated by the Dark Man, a clone of Tharok, into attacking the Legion. Blok is possibly the last of his people, convinced by Dark Man that the Legion was trying to destroy Dryad, but they were actually trying to save it.

When Blok learned the truth, he turned on the League of Super-Assassins and joined the Legion. Blok had no knowledge of his race; it was not even clear to him whether his form was that of an adult or a child.

After years with the Legion, Blok would be killed by Roxxas on orders from the Dominators.

HISTORY:
The man who became Bloodscream was originally a surgeon who accompanied Sir Francis Drake and his exploration fleet to North America in the early 17th century. During a skirmish with some natives in Canada, he was wounded. Drake found a native healer named Dagoo to treat him. Instead of healing the surgeon, though, who was plainly dying, Dagoo used an eldritch spell to trap him between life and death. Ravenscraft became a sort of vampire, powerful and immortal but always hungry. Shocked by his condition, Bloodscream attacked Dagoo and demanded he reverse the process. Dagoo told him that he needed the blood of another immortal. Bloodscream has been looking for such a person ever since.

For centuries he haunted battlefields around the world, guessing that an unkillable man would turn to soldiering as a career. In 1781, he fought at the Battle of Yorktown at the end of the American Revolutionary War. In 1805, he warred against Napoléon Bonaparte at the Battle of Austerlitz druign the Napoleonic War He joined the French Foreign Legion and fought in Mexico in the 1860's, and later in the Sudan. He battled in World War I he was at Ypres, and in the Spanish Civil War he fought in the Siege of the Alcazar in 1936, all without finding his unaging man.

He first met Wolverine during the D-Day invasion and much later in Madripoor. Deducing (incorrectly) that Wolverine was immortal.

Roughouse, his sometime partner, and Bloodscream worked for several criminal organizations as enforcers. On a mission to Canada he partnered with Cylla Markham, but drained the life out of her to charge up for a battle with Wolverine. That battle consisted of one drive-by stroke with the Honor Sword of Clan Yashida, a blade made by demons. Bloodscream almost died. Still in Canada, he partnered with Albert and Elsie Dee.

His next partnership was an uneasy one with Belasco, who claimed he was trying to stop an interdimensional invasion by the N'Garai. When Bloodscream realized that Belasco was actually trying to conquer the N'Garai, he pushed Belasco through a portal into the N'Garai's demonic dimension, which closed behind them.

Somehow Bloodscream survived a world full of demons. When he got back home, he sought out Roughouse. They went to work for the Black Tarantula, who sent them to kidnap his son from his estranged wife. Spider-Man (Peter Parker) foiled the plot.

Bloodscream learned what thralldom was like when Mauvais took control of his mind. Using his ability to control small animals, Bloodscream became the handler of Vermin (Edward Whelan), who procured victims for Mauvais's and Bloodscream's consumption. Mauvais kept Bloodscream under his control and tried to summon the Wendigo to eat its heart. The gods of the Inuits sent Mauvais to the Wendigo's dimension and incidentally liberated Bloodscream.

Bloodscream later reunited with Roughouse and tried to acquire the Venom symbiote at an auction. He subsequently resurfaced in Madripoor, working for Hydra, and fought the Shadow Initiative.

HISTORY: Bloodstorm was the descendant of an ancient line of African priestesses, all of whom had white hair, blue eyes, and the potential to wield magic. Her mother, N'Dare, was the princess of a tribe in Kenya. She married the American photojournalist David Munroe. When Ororo was six months old, she and her parents moved to Cairo, Egypt. Five years later, a bomb destroyed their home. Ororo's parents were killed, but she survived, buried under rubble near her mother's body. This traumatizing effect left Ororo with the severe claustrophobia. In her later years, Bloodstorm was recruited into the X-Men by Professor Xavier, and acted as the second in command. She was later captured by Dracula, who attempted to make her into one of his brides. While imprisoned she befriended Forge, and together they tried to escape, when they were confronted by Kitty Pryde, her former teammate. Kitty would rather see her friend die than become a vampire and attempted to kill Bloodstorm, but she hesitated and became Bloodstorm's first victim.

After becoming a vampire, Bloodstorm turned to Havok and his team, and joined as the co-leader. Rather than giving into her darker side, Forge would allow her to feed on him when she needed blood.

Gambit was once the leader of the New Orleans Thieves Guild, together with his wife Bella Donna. During one of his trips, he met a recently transformed Bloodstorm, and joined forces with her. At her side, Gambit became mortally wounded and at his request, Bloodstorm reluctantly bit him in the neck and turned him into a vampire. Though he later joined the Six, Gambit resented Bloodstorm for making him into a vampire.

Hanry McCoy managed to find and administer a cure for Bloodstorm's weakness to sunlight and her dependency on blood. Though the lust for blood was still there, her need for it was gone, though he could not reverse the affects of her vampirism.

During the final battle in which most of Earth heroes were killed, Bloodstorm managed to sneak up on Dracula, staking him through the the back piercing his heart and finally killing him.

Storm was not saved from the bite of Dracula and instead was transformed into a vampire. In defiance of her darker nature, Bloodstorm employed Forge and Kitty Pryde as food sources so she didn't have to kill.

Bloodstorm would eventually be recruited by X-51 of Earth-9997 (Earth X) to be a member of his Heralds. A group of super-humans from alternate realities. He had gathered them to warn alternate realities of the danger of the Celestials who reproduced by impregnating worlds and manipulating the DNA of the planet's dominant species into being unwilling antibodies. Each member of the Heralds would be granted their fondest wish upon completion of their mission. As payment for her agreement to join the Heralds, Bloodstorm wished to be cured of her vampirism. She would be teamed with Wolverine of Earth-811, Iron Man 2020 of Earth-8410, Deathlok of Earth-7484, Spider-Girl of Earth-1122, Killraven of Earth-691 and Hyperion of Earth-1121. The team would be split into groups of two, with Bloodstorm and Iron Man traveling to Earth-2010, a reality where everyone on Earth is a vampire.

There, they would seek out that world's version of Reed Richards to deliver their warning of Celestial prorogation. Learning that Reed (and most of the super-hero population) had fell victim to vampirism, their information came too little too late to the damned of this world. However, their information gave Reed the resolve to drop a bomb into Earth's core that would destroy the entire planet and wipe out all the vampires before they could take their curse to the stars. Returning to Earth-9997, each member of the group having varying degrees of success, they arrived to find that the Watcher of Earth-9997 was being judged by his alternate reality counterparts. After a brief battle against the collective of Watchers, they were beaten when X-51 had them all teleported to the surface of their own Earths, making them guilty of the same crimes that Watcher-9997 was guilty of.

With their missions completed, X-51 took all the Heralds to Earth to grant them their wishes. Bloodstorm was taken to Britain where she attended the wedding of King Britain and Medusa. After the reception, she was introduced to that reality's Storm and her husband, the Black Panther. They agreed to give Bloodstorm a blood tranfusion with blood from her Earth-9997 counterpart, which was theorized would cure Bloodstorm of her vampirism curse. It is unknown if the transfusion was a success, and the current fate of Bloodstorm remains unrevealed.

HISTORY:
It was said that Pharaoh Kha-Ef-Re possessed a powerful artifact, a figurine in the shape of a Blue Scarab; with its powers, he was able to defend his followers from all evil. When Kha-Ef-Re died, the Scarab was buried with him in his tomb; over the years, thousands died attempting to claim it for their own.
In August of 1939, several weeks before the Second World War, archaeologist Dan Garrett and his companion Prof. Luri Hoshid entered Kha-Ef-Re's tomb, becoming the first people to reach the Pharaoh's sarcophagus in millennia. Atop the sarcophagus rested Kha-Ef-Re's scarab.

As Dan and Luri admired the figurine, a cave-in began, the walls of the tomb collapsing on them. As Dan attempted to save Luri, the scarab flared to life, transforming Dan into a costumed superhero. Dan used his new-found superhuman strength to stop the cave-in, identifying himself as the Blue Beetle.

Dan smuggled the scarab out of the country, using its powers to become one of the so-called 'mystery men' of the 1930s and 1940s, though little is known of his career. He was also active after the Vietnam War, teaming up with Christopher Smith, the first Peacemaker, at least once.

Dan married, and had at least one child, a son, and a granddaughter, Danielle, named after him. His family were entrusted with the knowledge of his secret identity.

At some point, Dan became a professor of archaeology, teaching the subject at university. One of Dan's students was engineering genius Ted Kord, and the two of them formed a bond. When a major crisis arose, Ted turned to Dan for assistance. Ted had learned that his uncle, Jarvis Kord, intended to take over the world, and Ted needed Dan's help to stop him. Together, the two men succeeded in foiling Jarvis's plans, but only at the cost of Dan's life. The dying Dan asked Ted to take up the Blue Beetle legacy, and passed the Scarab onto him. Dan's body was lost in a subsequent cave-in. However, Ted discovered that the Scarab wouldn't work for him, and ultimately lost it during the First Crisis.

Some while later, after Ted had established himself as the Blue Beetle, Dan returned, apparently resurrected by the Scarab, half-crazed and intent on fighting Ted. When Ted eventually confronted Dan, the Scarab spoke to him, offering him its powers if he would become its new host. Ted rejected the Scarab's offer, and convinced Dan to break the Scarab's hold on him. The Scarab's physical form shattered, and Dan was allowed to die a final death.

Dan's funeral saw the presence of the Question, Judomaster, and Tiger, among others, suggesting that Dan had met them in his superhero career too. So far, however, those adventures remain unrecorded.

Dan's granddaughter Danielle holds a number of his notes, although a good quantity are missing. She also asserts legal claim on the Blue Beetle Scarab. Since the Scarab is attached to Jaime Reyes' spine, she has put her claim on hold for the time being.

- Blue Marvel or as I like to call him Silver age Superman. OK I get the whole they want to tell stories with a guy that powerful. I just find it convent to see not one but two Sumerman-alogues retro actively inserted into continuity.

- My personal head cannon has both Blue Marvel and Sentry as The Shaper of Worlds (where was he during Time Runs Out?) and The Beyonder (or Kosmos) inserting themselves into reality. Maybe to hide from the real Beyonders. Sentry's insanity could certainly be from the Beyonder (singular) or from him merging with a human (Robert Reynolds). Whereas, the Shaper had been seen as the more sane one of that group (and blue...), he could very well have been inserted as Blue Marvel to counter balance the other. This only leaves the question of where Kubik went...

HISTORY:
Adam Brashear was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. From an early age it was realized that he was a child prodigy.

He was a former fullback at Cornell University who graduated magna cum laude. He had Ph.D.s. in electrical engineering and theoretical physics.

He was a veteran of the Korean War, a member of the US Marine Corps with two Silver Stars. While in the Marine Corps he met Conner Sims, the friend he would later know as "Anti-Man".

Brashear later became the project lead on a scientific attempt to harness anti-matter through the creation of a "Negative Reactor" which created a bridge between the Negative Zone and the positive matter universe itself.

This reactor would then allow for an almost unlimited source of clean energy by allowing devices to tap the energy generated by a stable event horizon balanced between these positive and negative universes. Due to the unexpected explosion of the reactor, both Brashear and Sims were subjected to mutagenic radiation generated by the then unstable event horizon. While Sims' body disassembled into energy, Brashear became a stable "antimatter reactor" and developed a set of superhuman abilities.

In 1962 Adam received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President John F. Kennedy on the day the President asked him to retire; it had been discovered by the public that he is an African-American. As the Blue Marvel, Brashear wore a full-face helmet - but when it was damaged in a battle, his identity was revealed. A massive controversy ensued as the America of 1962 was too racist to accept a black super-man. The President reluctantly decided to ask Brashear to step back. Torn between myriad considerations, the Blue Marvel conceded.

At some point, Adam studied a mysterious being called the Infinaut who made various attempts to manifest on Earth.

He came back for one final mission and defeated the herald of an alien armada bent on enslaving the Earth. After that fight, he left the Medal of Freedom in the Blue Area of the Moon, where he first met Uatu the Watcher. His conversation with the Watcher was interrupted by the late arrival of the alien armada and he defeated them. The United States Government used this final mission to fake his death. The government later set up S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Marlene Frazier as Brashear's monitor under the cover name Candace. Frazier eventually became his lover, his wife and the mother of their two children. Brashear later became a tenured professor of physics at the University of Maryland.

In November 1972, Adam joined an earlier version of the "Mighty Avengers" a team formed by different people who came across each other while investigating the murder of a were-bat. When The Bear revealed the Deathwalkers led by Lichidus were behind this, the team officially formed to take them down. Kaluu tracked down the black magic used in the were-bat to a secret subway station below the City Hall. The Mighty Avengers then attacked the Deathwalkers before they could make their sacrifice. After Blade recovered the Talisman of Kamar-Taj, which was required to perform the sacrifice, Adam caused the subway to collapse above the Deathwalkers. With the Deathwalkers stopped, the team disbanded.

In the Infinaut's second manifestation in 1998, Adam and his son Kevin used an anti-matter powered rig to interrupt it. Adam discovered that if Infinaut had manifested on Earth at his large size, he would've destroyed it.

Connor Sims, the Anti-Man, was a radical who, partly because of his history with Adam Brashear, violently hated racism (himself, incidentally, being Caucasian), and in his power-fueled insanity sought to eradicate it, and probably humanity right along with it. When Anti-Man returned and defeated the Avengers, Tony Stark tracked down Brashear and with the help of Reed Richards they come up with a plan to stop Anti-Man. After a surprise confrontation with Sims on the moon, Brashear was left unconscious. Later an extended fight with Anti-Man resulted in Candace Brashear's death. At the conclusion of their battle, Brashear took Anti-Man up to the edge of the ionosphere and siphoned off his remaining "anti-matter energy" which caused his waveform to permanently decohere and collapse.

Afterward, Brashear returned to action as a full-time superhero. After a discussion with Uatu the Watcher, he traveled to Uzbekistan to help the Winter Guard subdue the extra-dimensional King Hyperion.

Blue Marvel was exploring the Neutral Zone when he returned and discovered a submarine lodged into Kadesh, his undersea base. Both the Chinese and American forces blamed the other, and they seemed on the brink of war. Blue Marvel managed to save his anti-matter samples from being exposed to water, and relations between the Chinese and Americans returned to normal. Though Blue Marvel was left wondering how a submarine got into his Kadesh, he soon discovered that the sea dragon that was guarding the Serpent's undersea prison was responsible for sending a submarine into his base.

Blue Marvel was seen with Uatu at the bottom of the Mariana Trench. After a one-sided conversation, he took up his costume and flew through Shuma-Gorath's head. He was able to heal Spectrum, who had been incapacitated by Proxima Midnight's spear. He was able to boost her powers temporarily and was among those Luke Cage declared Avengers.

He remained in the team, while he spent most of his time still working in Kadesh. Blue Marvel brought the Mighty Avengers into a conflict against his son Max Breasher, who had been trying to open a portal to the Neutral Zone to rescue Kevin. Max, under the alias of Doctor Positron, lured his father and his teammates to his base in an island to activated a portal to the Neutral Zone in order to bring Kevin back. Kevin started emerging from the portal hideously enlarged and distorted as Max attempted but failed to stabilize the portal. Blue Marvel realized the only way to save him was to push him back, for which She-Hulk attacked Kevin until he went inside the portal once more so it could be deactivated without any risk.

Some time later, Max reunited with his father in more calmly manner and informed Adam that he had managed to get rough coordinates of Kevin's location within the Neutral Zone, and Kevin communicated with him, warning him about the Beyond Corporation. When the Mighty Avengers confronted one of their agents, Adam and Max worked together to reprogram the portal Beyond Corporation used to enter reality and successfully bring back Kevin, who had been empowered by his exposure to the Neutral Zone. Kevin forced Beyond's agent back to the Neutral Zone, disappearing as well in the process. Blue Marvel and Max set out to try to reach out to Kevin again.

When Captain Marvel proposed to Black Panther the creation of a government-sanctioned proactive task force with the purpose of looking into potential threats and solve them before they could become a problem to the Earth, T'Challa suggested having Adam in the team. Adam in turn suggested Spectrum, and also demanded that the team refrained from applying violent solutions whenever possible.

During a mission in an attempt to explore what lies outside all of reality, the Ultimates stumbled upon Anti-Man in the Neutral Zone. Blue Marvel attempted to kill Anti-Man, in part because he had deemed him too dangerous and in part to avenge his wife, but Kevin persuaded him to spare Conner. Blue Marvel did and had Anti-Man brought onto the Abeona so that he and the Ultimates could fix him later on. The Ultimates' journey outside was cut short when their ship was destroyed by the strain it was enduring. Galactus saved the Ultimates' lives and returned them to Earth.

After the second superhuman Civil War, the Ultimates were terminated by the government due to their differences on the source of conflict, the use of the precognitive abilities of the Inhuman Ulysses Cain. Regardless of their dissolution, the Ultimates would later on reassemble in secret at the request of Galactus in order to investigate the mystery of who had chained the embodiment of the Multiverse, Eternity. In the process of unveiling the mystery and helping defeat Eternity's jailer, the First Firmament, the Ultimates were absorbed into Alpha Flight, being reinstated as an openly sanctioned team.

When Jimmy Woo began investigating a man who had been wearing the Eternity Mask and posing as the Masked Raider, he reformed the Three Xs with Blue Marvel and Night Thrasher, in order to help with the investigation. They also helped several heroes with the mysterious murder of an unknown man.

Following the explosion of the Antlion Space Station caused by terrorists disguised as Latverians, creating a Black Hole, Blue Marvel was asked to recapture a recently escaped Doctor Doom. He, along with H.E.R.B.I.E., were able locate Doom at Morgan Le Fay's apartment, however, after Doom was shot by Taskmaster. Le Fay tried to convince Blue Marvel that Doom was innocent this time, but upon his revival, Doom blasted Marvel unconscious. After relocating Doom at the house of Fruzsina Markovich, he battled Silver Sable, Victorious, and Kang who were there to aid Doom in reclaiming his throne. Blue Marvel tried to capture Doom, however, Doom was able to escape him once again.

He and Reed Richards were later able to contact Doom and help in how to deal with the Black Hole, with Doom convincing them that Marvel's powers were more than enough to fix the problem. After donning a suit for Black Hole Exploration he went inside the black hole in order to fix the problem. However, after entering the black hole his powers were tapped out and was stuck inside, while the black hole kept existing. Suddenly, Blue Marvel was approached by Doctor Octopus from an alternate reality who was sent by his reality Doctor Doom to help in fixing the problem with negative energy bombs. While Otto told Blue Marvel that his reality's Doctor Doom, the benevolent ruler of the world, had horrific visions of Marvel's Doom, they were attacked by the Brood. Otto himself was killed by the monsters, but Blue Marvel somehow couldn't die, and so escaped to the other side the singularity that was within the hole.

Blue Marvel would land in the alternate reality, where he would find the reformed Doctor Doom that Otto spoke about. Brashear was taken back to a futuristic version of Doomstadt and discussed the Antlion and Octavius with the alternate Doom and the Doom of the Prime Universe. Later, in a fit of rage, Victor would murder his alternate self and take an encased Ultimate Nullifier to destroy the reality. However, he spared Blue Marvel, dropping the angry hero into a remote ocean on Earth-616.

HISTORY:
Vril Dox II aka Brainiac 2 is the clone son of Brainiac (Vril Dox I). He was created by Brainiac himself. He is still regarded as Brainiac's son and heir, as he has inherited his pater familias' high intelligence and extreme Machiavellian ethics. Vril Dox II is a citizen of the planet Colu which is ruled by the malevolent Computer Tyrants.

Although cold-hearted and manipulative, he does not follow his father's footsteps, but has worked hard to make the universe a safer place. One of the most intelligent beings in the galaxy, he was the founder and long-time leader of the interstellar heroic organization known as L.E.G.I.O.N..

Ren Daggle better known as the Durlan met Vril Dox when he crashed on Colu and was forced into slavery by Brainiac. Vril Dox II was also treated like a slave, and so the Durlan took the young boy under his wing.

Brainiac was then over thrown and banished from the planet by the Computer Tyrants. The young Vril Dox II is given to the Dominators by the Computer Tyrants as a gesture of good faith in their Invasion of the planet Earth.

He was detained in the Starlag prison, there she befriended some other prisoners such Stealth and Captain Comet. Along with Lyrissa Mallor, Garryn Bek and Strata, he helped to defeat the Dominators.

After their victory, the group went with Vril Dox II to his home planet of Colu. They were successful in shutting down Computer Tyrants who had conquered his people. But without the Computer Tyrants to guide it, Coluans society practically self-destructed.

Vril Dox II became a messiah to his people, which gave him the idea to form a new police force to replace the former Green Lantern Corps. The others were hesitant to join, but ultimately decided that it might be a good idea to stick around, to keep an eye on Vril Dox II.

The band then journeyed to Cairn to take out Kanis-Biz, then they turned the entire police force into the group called L.E.G.I.O.N.. The Durlan remained with the team as an adviser, but he aided the team as a medical technician. Stealth unstable biology caused her to go into heat and chose Vril Dox II as he mate. Stealth attacked raped and killed Vril Dox, but from that one pairing Stealth became pregnant. Luckily the Durlan found Vril body and cloned it and transferred his brainwaves restoring Vril Dox back to life.

Stealth narrowly avoided being devoured before going into labor. This event brought out the truly strange nature of the Gryxian race. During the birth, her body transformed into her native, non-humanoid form, and in feverish state, she heard the voice of the spirits of her people "the male is a necessary evil. He will dictate the form." Thus, her son was born a Coluan. When Vril Dox II still in recovery, the Durlan disappears without explanation, only thing left in his place is Phase a woman claiming to be from the 30th Century with Phasing powers. Afterwards, she decides to put the baby in protective care, and return to the L.E.G.I.O.N.

Lyrl Dox aka Brainiac 3 rebelled and took over the L.E.G.I.O.N. and created an opposing team, the R.E.B.E.L.S.

Vril Dox II later regains control of L.E.G.I.O.N. by bartering with the demonic entity Neron. The deal is for the soul of one of his unborn offspring. After the R.E.B.E.L.S. had helped restore L.E.G.I.O.N. as a force of good, Brainiac 2 retired and left the leadership in the hands of Captain Comet.

When Starro was taking control of the L.E.G.I.O.N., Brainiac 2, along with his old compatriot, Strata, form a new team to regain his former status.

Vril Dox II later comes into contact with the mother of his son, who had recently been killed by L.E.G.I.O.N. drones, and was subsequently revived as a Black Lantern.

Vril Dox II was also in an area in which a Sinestro Corps member was murdered by another Black Lantern. When the ring started to search for a new host, it selected Vril Dox II, making him a member of the Sinestro Corps. However, not even the power of the ring was a match for the Black Lanterns, forcing Vril Dox II to teleport them to Starro's home world, despite the fact that his son, Lyrl was also there.

The rejected Vril Dox II, as he repeatedly refused Sinestro's mandate that all members of the Sinestro Corps were to gather at Korugar, and declared that he had been discharged from the Corps.

CONTACTS: Legion of Superheroes

HISTORY: Querl Dox, or Brainiac 5, was a Coluan member of the Legion of Super-Heroes with a supremely advanced intellect. While his ancestor Brainiac was a supervillain, Brainiac 5 strove to atone for the misdeeds of his lineage.

On the accepted galactic intelligence scale, the average Earthling is a sixth-level intellect. The average Coluan is a ten, but Brainiac 5 is a twelve. This is something he inherited from the original Brainiac, and his son, Vril Dox II alias Brainiac 2, who freed the people of Colu from slavery to the Computer Tyrants.

After Lyrl Dox, alias Brainiac 3 the "Brainiac" title fell into such notoriety that the family did not use the name for centuries. In the late 30th century, Kajz Dox, Brainiac 5's father picked up the mantle and named himself Brainiac 4. His father died and he was orphaned as a child at age twelve he took the title of Brainiac 5.

While using a Time Viewer to see the dawn of time, the Green Lantern Corps attacked him, but he was saved by the newly formed Legion. Impressed by the team, and using his code name of Brainiac 5, he tried out and joined the Legion alongside Supergirl, who he had a crush on.

He went on to collaborate with the Invisible Kid to invent the Legion Flight Ring using an isotope he discovered with Mon-El. He invented the Time Bubble, which became the primary mode of time travel for the Legion of Super-Heroes. He became close friends with fellow time genius, Rond Vidar.

Over time Brainiac 5 began to show signs of mental instability, the first signs apeared during his first term as Legion leader. He invented Computo, which rebelled and caused trouble for the Legion, including cause the death of one of Triplicate Girl's bodies. Ironically, Computo was defeated by his creation of a Bizarro Computo.

Brainiac also missed Supergirl so badly that he created a Supergirl android in his sleep and programmed her to hove him. The Supergirl android nearly killed them both by accident, but he was saved by the real Kara. Before travelling back to the past again, Kara told him that she cannot cope with being a part-time Legionnaire until she gets her life straightened out, but she may someday return and maybe they can pick up where they left off. Then they kissed.

Brainiac was targeted by an android created by the Computer Tyrants that were overthrown by his ancestor. This android took the name Pulsar Stargrave and pretended to be Brainiac 5's long-lost father.

Pulsar Stargrave drove Brainiac 5 insane which led him to frame his teammate and tried Ultra Boy for the murder of his former girlfriend, An Ryd. In truth, Pulsar Stargrave had murdered An Ryd, the truth of which was eventually discovered by Chameleon Boy and Ultra Boy was exonerated for the crime.

After sometime Brainiac 5 had gone truly mad and his unrestrained genius created two powerful threats. He accidentally transformed his friend, Professor Jaxon Rugarth, into the all-powerful Infinite Man. Then he used the Controllers' Miracle Machine to create the virtually unstoppable Omega. The Legion called in the former Legionnaire Matter-Eater Lad, was able to consume the Miracle Machine and stop Omega, but at the cost of his own sanity. Following this case, both Brainiac 5 and Matter-Eater Lad were remanded to psychiatric care.

Brainiac 5 was released after sometime but was not welcomed back into the Legion. He chose to lead the Legion of Substitute Heroes against the League of Super-Assassins, which with his guidance defeated them and with the help of Saturn Girl's Telepathy purged his mind of lingering childhood trauma.

After all the help he received, Brainiac 5 committed himself to curing Matter-Eater Lad's insanity. He was successful and the pair fully rejoined the Legion.

Brainiac 5 worked hard to support the team during Darkseid's uprising. After the final battle, he told Supergirl he was finally over his crush on her. Kara then remarked that that is a pity, since she was beginning to notice how cute he was. Querl cursed his lousy timing.

Shortly after the Darkseid's defeat the whole Legion had a celebratory get-together.

While he and other four Legionnaires (Supergirl, Colossal Boy, Chameleon Girl -disguised as Shrinking Violet- and Sun Boy) were flying by Weber's World on their way to Durla, they were struck by a squad of the Science Police led by Ontiir. Although Ontiir claimed they had been "victims of a security patrol gone awry", the team felt compelled to check out the place.

It turned Emerald Empress had taken over Weber's World as part of a plan to conquer the galaxy. The five Legionnaires fell into her trap, but they managed to break out. Querl and Kara thwarted Emerald Empress' plan to crash Weber's World into the United Planet's main fleet base. Next he and his teammates handled Sarya's henchmen, as the two female Legionnaires took the Empress down.

When Danielle Foccart was brought to him for the treatment of a rare neurological disorder, the girl's body was possessed by Computo. He defeated his creation again rescuing the young girl.

Brainiac attended Karate Kid and Princess Projectra's wedding and chased Ontiir down when he escaped his trial. At that point, Supergirl had become an active team member again and their relationship was looking up. Unfortunately, a mission gone awry led Supergirl to believe she didn't fit with the Legion anymore. Promising to see Brainiac 5 sometime later, she returned to the 20th Century.

In addition to the remainder heroes of the surviving Multiverse, the Legion was summoned to the Monitor's Satellite. Aware of what was about to transpire but being unable to prevent it, Brainiac stuck close to Kara during the gathering. When she got killed, Brainiac attended his funeral. Cursing himself because he didn't dare interfere with his death, Brainiac would mourn Supergirl for a long while.

Although he and his fellow Legionnaires survived the Crisis, there were consequences. The Time Trapper took advantage of the cosmic chaos unleashed to erase Supergirl's existence from their minds and make them believe his fellow Superboy wasn't the real one.

Several years later, the future where Brainiac and the Legion existed was wiped out by Parallax.

Yet, the second Crisis restored the Legion timeline, albeit modified. Eager to find Superman, RJ Brande funded his time-travelling research. When the billonaire businessman founded the Legion, Brainiac joined at his behest, and created the Time Bubble which allowed Lightning Lad, Saturn Girl and Cosmic Boy to go back in time and fetch Superboy. (although other accounts state that the three Legionnaires "borrowed" a time bubble and at the beginning Querl was opposed to Superboy joining the team).

Sometimes Brainiac took Superboy back to the past. One of those times, Querl, Rokk, Garth and Imra went back with Kal, and the Boy of Steel showed them around Smallville. Brainiac had several reasons to make that trip. He wanted to meet the Kents personally, and he wanted to destroy a probe sent by his evil ancestor.

When a bizarre accident threw Supergirl in the future, most of Legionnaires welcomed her into the team with open arms, but Brainiac was concerned with her presence disrupting the time continuum and had to be talked into it. Regardless that, he couldn't help but falling hard for her. Both teenagers teamed up to erase a timeline where Satan Girl conquered Earth. Kara kissed Querl before returning to her time, and Brainiac said himself he would not let her die alone this time.

A short while later, Garth died -temporarily- while saving Imra from Zaryan's fleet. After the funeral, Brainiac bitterly wondered aloud why his teammates didn't ask him help.

Unfortunately, xenophobia started spreading all over the galaxy, and the Legion agreed the future had became too dangerous for Superman and they should not make contact with him again.

Several years later, Brainiac sent six Legionnaires in the past to bring the Flash back and retrieve a piece of the soul of Bart Allen.

Earth-Man and his "Justice League" led a witch-hunt sponsored by the Earth Government to destroy the Legion and everything they stood for. The Legion had to go undercover and the United Planets government was ready to make war on Earth. Albeit reluctantly, Brainy had to resort to call Superman for help.

Nonetheless, Superman's Time Bubble got damaged and the Man of Steel arrived several months later than it was intended. In the meantime, Brainiac and Cosmic Boy found out the United Planets were preparing to launch a military assault against Earth, as soon as Colu formulated the strike plans. In order to delay the strike as long as possible, Brainiac positioned himself as Colu's dictator. However he was ousted as soon as the Coluans discovered his real intentions.

Earth-Man and his allies were defeated, but the tension between the Legion, the Earth Government and the United Planets were still high. The UP wanted to shut down the Legion, and R.J. Brande got assassinated. Brainiac felt the team was done until Lightning Lass suggested him to prove everyone wrong.

It was then Superboy Prime made it to the 30th Century and assembled a new Legion of Super-Villains. Brainiac 5 came up with a plan to fight him, summoning two Legions of different timelines and bringing Bart Allen and Conner Kent back. In order to accomplish this, he had to team up with two younger Brainiacs, much to his annoyance.

Afterwards, Brainiac 5 used the Miracle Machine to transport Superman back to Earth during Darkseid's attack.

Superman: Last Stand of New Krypton Brainiac and the rest of Legion went back in time to save New Krypton from his ancestor Vril Dox. During the battle he teamed up with Supergirl before she joined the Legion. As they worked together, Brainiac revealed they would get together in the future.[44]-[45] Querl's plans were instrumental to stop the older Brainiac and put him behind bars.

After still another cosmic upheaval, he and the Legion were scattered in time, although they helped out the Justice League United with a case. After saying goodbye to the Leaguers, including Supergirl, Quel wondered whether they'd still get together.

HISTORY:
Originally born on Earth-Two as the son of the criminal Brainwave and Gimmick Girl (who was originally written as being tricked into the relation but later openly acceptance of her husband) Hank Jr. was revealed to have inherited his father's superhuman mental abilities.

Hank Jr. would remain mostly hidden from the condemnation of his famous parents until he attained early adulthood and sought to actively pursue an active crime-fighting career in some measure to atone for his father's past deeds in his uncle, Sylvester Pemberton, Jr., the original Star-Spangled Kid who was forming a new superhero group called Infinity, Inc.. Following his father's death, he dropped the 'Jr.' from his name and began calling himself just 'Brainwave'.

Infinity, Inc. consisted of many of the direct children and successors of the Justice Society members. Despite their youth the team proved their effectiveness when they defeated their elder heroes when the Justice Society was possessed by the Stream of Ruthlessness. While a member of Infinity, Inc., Hank met and became romantically attached to Jade the daughter of Alan Scott. Despite his best attempts the relationship ended badly.

After the disbanding of the original Infinity Inc. Hank suffered a mental breakdown due to unresolved guilt issues over his villainous father and, shaving his head in order to more closely resemble his father, founded the Legion of Doom and used them to attack a branch of the Justice League. He was captured and sent for psychiatric treatment but was not cured. Black Adam used his mental instability to convince him to join his crusade to free his native Kahndaq and bring peace to Earth as Adam saw fit. During the ensuing battle against the JSA a miniaturized Atom entered Hank's head in an attempt to destroy the growth that gave him his powers. Inside Hank's head Atom found that Hank's brain was actually harboring the parasitic worm-like Mr. Mind who was using him as a source of food and development while amplifying Hank's telepathic powers and the real cause of his mental problems causing him to run amok acting villainous. Hank was saved from Mr. Mind by Atom treated by his fellow JSA members and eventually turned over to the care of his mother, Merry Pemberton.

CONTACTS: Church of Blood

HISTORY:
Sebastian was the ninth individual to assume the name of Brother Blood. As demanded by eight generations of tradition, whoever holds such a title is recognized as the High Priest of the Church of Blood and an emissary to the demonic entity known as Trigon.

Due to a seven-hundred year old curse, an individual can only achieve the title of Brother Blood through an act of patricide. There is no formal observation of ascendance, and the child of the High Priest can murder his father and assume his rank at a time of his own choosing.

While still a teenager, Sebastian stabbed his father to death, after the latter's failed attempt to take over the Slab and abduct a million infants. He dumped Blood's body into the river and assumed the mantle of Brother Blood. By rite of ascendance, Sebastian took control of the Church of Blood commanding loyalty from legions of loyal followers.

Garbing himself in the vestments of his father, the new Brother Blood embarked upon a bold plan to solidify the mystical power of the Church of Blood. He instructed his cultists to seek out and abduct Raven, the half-human daughter of their lord, Trigon. The Church of Blood hunted Raven down and brought the weakened girl to one of their underground domains. Blood declared that Raven was to be his new sister-bride and consummated the pact by literally biting the Chakra gemstone off Raven's forehead and swallowing it. Through Raven, Blood intended to sire a child stronger than any that has ever arisen throughout the Church's history. Together, they were to cleanse the Earth of all non-believers and achieve total global control of the planet.

The dark and powerful side of Raven's soul, reacted adversely to her imprisonment. Her soul-self splintered and expanded outward across the San Francisco Bay area. For miles around, people began to fall into a hypnotic daze, endlessly chanting, "Raven belongs to Brother Blood". Raven's former allies the Teen Titans sought her out and located her at Blood's sanctuary.

Unlike his predecessors, Sebastian took an active role in the Church's ambitions. Not content to merely order his cultists to fight the Titans, Blood himself engaged in battle and began savagely attacking them. He latched onto Superboy and sank his teeth into the hero's arm, drinking some of his blood. Like a living vampire, Sebastian's strength increased with the infusion of blood and he became even more powerful. He managed to briefly overcome the Titans, but Robin (aided by Deathstroke and Ravager), managed to distract Brother Blood by driving a Batarang into his helmet. Blood grabbed Raven and escaped through the tunnels until he reached the surface.

Sebastian quickly conducted a ritual to finalize his marriage to Raven in accordance to centuries' worth of prophecy. With Raven firmly under his control, Blood used her soul-self to open a doorway to the eighth plane of Hell, releasing a horde of flying demons. The demons began slaughtering anyone (even cultists) who was not a true believer in the path of Blood.

The Titan known as Beast Boy transformed into an roundworm and entered Brother Blood's mouth. Directing himself towards his stomach, he recovered Raven's Chakra stone and forced Blood to regurgitate both the stone and himself. With Raven now under full control of her powers, she enveloped Brother Blood in her soul-self, transporting him to the eighth plane of Hell.

Even in Hell, Brother Blood struggled to find a way to return to Earth and reclaim his title. As luck would have it, the unfettered spirit of vengeance known as the Spectre widened the breach between the lands of the living and the lands of the dead. Brother Blood discovered the late mystic adventurer known as Kid Eternity and chained him to the gates of the afterlife. Taking control of Eternity's powers, he entered the gates and reappeared on Earth.

Brother Blood commanded massive hordes of demons, instructing them to wreak havoc across the Los Angeles area. Once again, the Teen Titans answered the call of duty and fought Sebastian's forces. Brother Blood summoned the animated corpses of several dead Titans including Omen, Phantasm, Kole, Hawk and Dove. He instructed them to go forth and slay the Teen Titans. While the demons razed the City of Angels, Brother Blood traveled to Titans Tower where he encountered Raven. He brutally attacked her, biting into her shoulder. Beast Boy intervened and saved Raven's life. Blood temporarily escaped.

Raven recognized that the only way to stop Blood's reign of terror was to seal the dimensional gateway to the afterlife. Beast Boy and she entered the dimensional plane and freed Kid Eternity from the gates of the afterlife. Grateful for their help, Eternity agreed to assist them in taking down Brother Blood.

They returned to Earth and squared off with Blood in the streets of Los Angeles. Kid Eternity used his ability to summon the dead to resurrect the bodies of all eight previous generations of Brother Blood. The Blood family descended upon Sebastian and destroyed him. With Sebastian dead, all of his effects ceased and his demon agents returned to Hell.

A while later, Blood developed a rare blood disorder and was left near death. The Church of Blood stole the blood of the vampire-like mutant, Vampry to cure their leader. This changed him into a pseudo-vampire like Vampry. Rising in his new vampiric state, Blood, renamed himself the Tenth Brother Blood, and converted his church to the cause of vampirism and went to make Zandia the vampire homeland.

Blood had converted a few of his lieutenants into pseudo-vampires and his elite guard were turned into Man-Bats using Langstrom's serum. As vampires began flocking to Zandia's shores other powers moved to stop this would be Lord of Earths Vampires. Both Dracula and Varnae were poised to wipe out the island in what would become knows as the Vampire Wars.

A small team of vampire hunters and "good" vampires consisting of Vampry, Dagon, Blade, Hannibal King, Lilith (Dracula's daughter), Vampirella, Morbius and Jubilee, inserted themselves onto the island with the express purpose of ending Blood and his Church.

HISTORY:
Henry McCoy was one of the original X-Men. Upon graduation, McCoy began his employment for the Brand Corporation. In his position as genetic researcher, McCoy attempted to isolate the cellular catalyst that causes mutations--using himself as a guinea pig. The results were disastrous. Instead of reversing the mutation, as was his intent, McCoy caused himself to undergo a complete physical metamorphosis. Now, McCoy was a literal beast--a green-skinned, amphibious monster. The most tragic aspect of the entire affair was that his once-superior intellect was virtually gone, and with it, all hope for reversing the transformation. He joined his former teammates in the Six but during the inferno he was duped by Sym and N'astirh and allied with them. The result of which was his legs became goat legs and his feet cloven hooves.

Brute was the first member of the team to discover that Madelyne Pryor had been taken over by the Goblin Force after he saw her kill Spider-Man and the Green Goblin. The Goblin Queen framed Brute for the murder and forced him to ask for his own execution and when he died she resurrected him and forced him to join her. The Brute managed to fight off the Goblin Queen's influence with help of Scotty Summers and rejoined Havok and fought against the Goblin Queen.

During a battle with Professor X Brute was help with a telepathic blast that temporarily restored his intellect. As his restored intellect was only temporary he devised a hologram with all of his intellect that he hoped would develop a cure for Gambit and Bloodstorm's Vampirism and Iceman's inability to turn back to human as well as sending Havok back to his home reality. In the case of Bloodstorm, Gambit and Iceman he was successful. The Hologram was unable to figure out a way to permanently restore Brute's intellect. Brute survived the final battle with the Goblin Force possessed Beyonder.

HISTORY:
Scientist Karen Beecher was the girlfriend of Teen Titans member the Herald (a.k.a. Mal Duncan). In order to help make Herald look good in front of the team, Beecher secretly made herself a bumblebee-themed super-suit and attacked the Teen Titans. She escaped without this ruse being revealed.

When she later explained to Mal and the Titans what she had done, they were impressed enough to offer her membership, which she accepted. She and Mal subsequently moved to the new Titans West team, having relocated to San Francisco. When the Titans team dissolved for a time, Karen and Mal married and 'retired' from super-heroics. Karen took a job with S.T.A.R. Labs, where she designs non-lethal weaponry.

They have returned to crime-fighting from time to time to assist the team, most notably during a short-lived revival of Titans West and the JLA/Titans event, which reunited everyone involved with the team. A fight broke out over the fate of Victor Stone, Cyborg. Bumblebee personally fought Zauriel, a member of the Justice League. Despite the assistance of the current Supergirl, Bumblebee was swiftly defeated.

Following this, Mal and Karen briefly joined the latest incarnation of Titans West (now called Titans L.A.), but this incarnation of the team never really got off the ground.

Bumblebee and her husband are among the heroes recruited by Donna Troy to help avert a coming crisis that threatened the existence of the universe. After a battle in space, most of the heroes were trapped by a Zeta-Beam Ray that Adam Strange was hoping to use for teleporting away the heroes from the rift in space. Due to the ray interactions with the rift itself, the Zeta-Ray altered Bumblebee's physiology, apparently transferring her body mass to Hawkgirl. This left Bumblebee approximately six inches in height and Hawkgirl some 25 feet tall.

Bumblebee is shown to have joined the Doom Patrol sometime in the past year along with her husband (now known as Vox) and Beast Boy. She must now take medicine developed by Doom Patrol leader Niles Caulder to prevent her heart from going into cardiac arrest, due to her tiny form.

Karen is presently a member of the Doom Patrol. Due to medicinal efforts from Dr. Caulder, she has grown to a height of seven inches, and she can live in a dollhouse.

HISTORY:
Captain Atlas worked with Doctor Minerva during the Kree/Shi'ar conflict called Operation: Galactic Storm, they retrieved Captain Mar-Vell's Nega-Bands. Atlas wore the Nega-Bands for a short time, and used them to switch places with Rick Jones. At-Lass battled the Avengers and the Shi'ar but when he discovered that the war was instigated by the Supreme Intelligence in order to irradiate and jump start the evolution of the Kree, At-Lass became disillusioned and committed suicide by activating his battle suit's self-destruct program. Doctor Minerva tried to stop his suicide but was caught in its destruction.

It is possible that At-Lass lied and that the device used is not a self-destruct program but a teleportation device to escape the Avengers because when the Kree hired Spymaster to steal Iron Man's armor, Captain Atlas joined the team of supervillains Spymaster gathered to perform the heist as the new Titanium Man.

When Spymaster's accomplices were betrayed by Spymaster, they fought him and Titanium Man. When Iron Man tracked them down, At-Lass attempted to crush him to death, but Unicorn vaporized him.

- I always liked Captain Atom, but his story just gets muddled when Monarch comes into question. Luckily there's a fix. Back in one of his issues we met a Quantum Entity who's biology was the same as his metal skin. infact a piece of the entity was taken to form the skin. Later in Extreme Justice, we meet the real Nathaniel Adam adrift in the quantum zone. It goes on to say that the current Captain Atom was actually the metal coating imprinted with Nathaniel Adam's memories and personality (just slightly skewed). The real Nathaniel Adam had been a drift in the quantum field the whole time. He came back and became Monarch. So I posit that the metal Captain Atom isn't the real Nathaniel Adam and that Monarch is.

HISTORY
Captain Atom found himself both in a world unlike his own where the people fear the super-powered beings, and with a new gold and red look. Following a misunderstanding, Atom fights with Mister Majestic, before Majestic offers to help him return to his reality. Despite his good intentions, Majestic's technology is unable to send Atom back to his own Earth, forcing Atom to seek help elsewhere.

Approaching the government, Atom is dismayed to find them as impotent and fearful of the super-powered as everyone else. Majestic informs him that Atom's existence will destroy the universe should he remain and Atom's own research backs this up. After learning the Atom unintentionally held part of the Void entity within him, the Wildcats attack him until only Grifter and Nikola Hanssen, the next (reluctant) host of the Void, are left. As Grifter was about to battle him, Captain Atom was taken to the moon through a shift-door, and was met by Authority member the Engineer, who wanted to help him, as her team had been monitoring his actions.

Her team, The Authority, attempt to get Captain Atom back home without success. With Atom's consent, the Engineer inserts nanomachines into his body, apparently stabilizing him and removing the danger of him destroying the universe. They share a romantic interlude before Atom goes on his way, coming into contact with Nikola Hanssen once more. This time, she turns into the new Void, sparking a panic attack. After calming her down, the Engineer arrived and assumed that Atom had cheated on her; she informed him the danger had not passed and he was still a threat to the universe.

In disbelief, Atom sent himself one week into the future to see if the universe remained intact. There he found Nikola who tried to explain that the universe was safe but before allowing her to finish, Atom took a newspaper back to the present to prove to the Engineer that she was wrong. Refusing to trust the newspaper, the Engineer attacked him, stating to Atom that by killing him, the universe will be saved. Atom was saved by Grifter and Nikola before they were attacked by Apollo and Midnighter, Grifter dying in the fight before Atom was captured and taken back to the Carrier.

Atom tried to explain to the Authority that killing him would destroy their universe but was ignored. Apollo blasted Atom, inadvertently causing him to transform into a menacing and glowing form, becoming the very being meant to destroy the universe. Both Apollo and Midnighter were killed when they Captain Atom, forcing the Authority to find another way to stop him. They released Majestic, who tried to stop the Authority from attacking Atom and was frozen by the Doctor. When Jenny Quantum attempted to solve the situation by touching Captain Atom, she too was killed. Atom and the group were found by Nikola Hanssen who had by now fully accepted herself as the Void. She safely removed the part of her essence from Atom thus nullifying his threat to the universe and reverting him back to his normal appearance, before sending him back to his home universe.

Captain Atom returned to his universe during the Infinite Crisis when Superboy-Prime punctured Breach; as Breach exploded, Atom appeared in his place, shaken and confused. Later, Atom was severely attacked by an unknown assailant and then imprisoned by the United States military within the remains of Blüdhaven. There he was used as a fuel source to administer radiation treatments to metahumans. The heavy damage sustained by his radiation-shielding skin left him comatose and unable to keep his radiation to safe levels, forcing the Atomic Knights to keep him constantly contained.

After being fitted with an updated version of the Monarch armor to contain his radiation, Atom awoke. Seemingly mentally unstable, he broke free only to find the Teen Titans, Freedom Fighters and S.H.A.D.E. fighting each other to determine Blüdhaven's fate. He stopped and killed the rampaging Major Force, before ordering everyone to evacuate the area; once they had left, Atom released a vast amount of energy, obliterating what was left of Blüdhaven.

Sometime later, Kyle Rayner, known as Ion, discovered him in The Bleed. Atom, having now embraced the Monarch identity, indicated that he is traveling through The Bleed in order to operate outside the gaze of the Monitors. He discussed his time in the Wildstorm Universe, and his desire to visit other alternate worlds.

Having become aware of the Multiverse and the Monitors, Monarch planned to attack them in order to become ruler of a unified Earth. He drafted an army of foot-soldiers from various alternate Earths, including the Extremists of Earth-8, the JL-Axis of Earth-10 and the Crime Society of Earth-3, while his main goal was to assemble a force with the strongest versions of various heroes.
He captured multiple versions of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and others, placed them in an Arena and forced th various versions of each other to fight to the death, with the survivor joining his army. Despite the attempts of various heroes to stop his plans, Monarch achieved his goals and readied his army to attack the Monitors, using Earth-51 as the battleground.

As Monarch neared victory he was attacked by Superman-Prime who had been tricked by one of the Monitors, Solomon, into attacking. In the fight against Superman-Prime, Monarch's suit was damaged which released a chain reaction that destroyed the entire universe of Earth-51 aside from its Monitor, Nix Uotan.

It was later revealed that Solomon was solely responsible for Captain Atom's madness, and that it was he who attacked him in Blüdhaven, rupturing his skin and setting into motion his transformation into Monarch.

Captain Atom, suffering from amnesia, was discovered by General Lane and his black-ops organization Project 7734. He was brainwashed by the project and used by General Lane as a bargaining chip with the sorceress Mirabai, the Forlorn; for her help with Project 7734, Atom was made her champion and used by her to subdue her enemies in Sorcerers' World. After defeating Mirabai's enemies, Atom managed to overcome his brainwashing and amnesia at the castle of Lord Gadrey and was subdued by 7734's task force before being saved by an anti-Mirabai resistance group helped by Natasha Irons who had been spying on 7734 and learned of Atom's condition.

Captain Atom was later confronted by Major Force, who has also been working for 7734, and the two fought until Major Force transported themselves to Metropolis. Mon-El appeared, helped Captain Atom escape, and took him to the Justice League's Watchtower, where the League members immediately attacked him in order to bring to justice for his actions as Monarch. After a struggle and reconciliation with the League, Atom told them what he can remember and the League reminded him he was a hero who once saved Earth.

Atom felt the need to return to Sorcerers' World to make amends for what he did. The Shadowpact were called on to help him on his quest and suggested he use the underground world of Skartaris to reach his destination. Once in Sorcerors' World, he met up with the resistance group and helped them defeat Mirabai. Only after that did one of the leading resistance members, Aggaro, reveal himself to Captain Atom as the sorcerer Modru, who would now rule in her place. Despite being seen as another tyrant by Captain Atom, Mordru explained to him that he promised to rule Sorcerers' World benignly and swore that, despite being seen as a villain on Earth, he would be considered a friend to Captain Atom in his world. Captain Atom was then magically returned to Earth.

A week later, Atom was cleared of his past crimes thanks to the efforts of Mon-El, who convinced the Daily Planet to publish a positive front-page article on Captain Atom which went worldwide. Due to his experiences in Sorcerers' World, Captain Atom resolved to return to his life as a superhero.

Following the events of Brightest Day, Captain Atom was one of many heroes hunting for the resurrected Maxwell Lord. Atom, along with former members of the Justice League International Fire and Ice found a wounded Booster Gold at the JLI embassy in New York, and learned that Lord had amplified his powers to make almost everyone on Earth forget about him -- Atom and his team mates retained their memories of Lord.

As Atom and his allies attempted to find him, Lord used his mind controlling powers to force Magog to attack Captain Atom. Lord then has Magog kill himself but convince onlookers that Atom was responsible. Absorbing Magog's suicidal blast, Atom is thrust into the future where he finds a devastated world contaminated by a new OMAC virus. The remaining heroes tell Atom that this world was the result of Lord killing Wonder Woman, before Atom returns to the present, determined to stop Lord.

Aided by Power Girl and Batman who had managed to remember Lord, Captain Atom leads an assault against the OMACs and Lord, stopping his plan to murder Wonder Woman. During the battled, Atom once more absorbed enough energy to plunge into the time stream and threatened to take Lord with him unless he undid his global mind wipe.

While Lord ultimately escaped, he informed the world that Captain Atom was innocent of the murders of Magog and the surrounding civilians.
