-Charmanders are the young of powerful Fire-Breathing, animal-intelligence Dragons, and are known for being much less intimidating overall. Tameable and relatively calm and easy to train at first, they are infamous for rapidly outgrowing their trainer's capabilities, and becoming more and more difficult to handle with age. Most Animal Trainers know well the tales of trainers killed by their own Charmanders as they got older. Many Charmanders are known to grow to human-size and stay there, never growing further, while others with more ferocity, intensity and drive have been known to reach over a dozen feet tall, growing wings and looking every bit like their Draconic cousins.

-Charmeleon is the nickname given to Fire Drakes in the medium stage of their lifetime. Many spend years in this form, or simply never grow to develop the size and wings of their final form.

Jab's Notes: Charmander is the remainder of the "Big Starter Three" (easily the greatest and most stand-out Starters in Pokémon history- no other Generation's comes close. I find a lot of the other starters to be rather pathetic, though I've been impressed by a couple). It's probably the cutest of the Starters, though it's infamous in the anime for being the ONLY one of Ash's early Pokémon to reach it's final evolution (Bulbasaur & Squirtle stubbornly refused to evolve for whatever reason), and it became more and more of a dick as time went on (something I reflected in the build). Eventually, Charizard was Ash's mainline Heavy-Hitter, doing the most damage in Tournaments, and getting Put on a Bus to Charizard Valley (where it was beat up by other Mary Sue-ish Charizards in a move than annoyed several fans- nobody likes seeing an established heavy-hitter badly dissed like that).
