HISTORY:
Henry "Hank" Henshaw was a crew member of the doomed LexCorp space shuttle Excalibur. Hank and the other three members of the Excalibur crew — including his wife, Terri — were exposed to cosmic radiation, resulting in the crash of their shuttle. As a result of the radiation exposure, the human bodies of two crew members were destroyed. However, their minds survived and one named Steven was able to construct a new body out of pure cosmic radiation, while the other, Jim Garrison, did the same using rock, gravel, branches and pieces of the shuttle wreckage. Initially, apart from Henshaw's hair having turned white, he and Terri suffered no ill-effects from the radiation and the crew traveled to Metropolis, in the hope of using LexCorp facilities to cure their transformed crew mates. During a brief battle with Superman, Steven became unhinged and eventually flew into space where, before the eyes of the pursuing Superman, he plunged straight into the sun. By this time, Henshaw's body had begun to rapidly decay while Terri was beginning to phase into an alternate dimension. With Superman's help, Henshaw was able to use the LexCorp facilities to save Terri, but died immediately afterwards. Jim committed suicide using a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) booth which ripped the metal fragments from his body, killing him instantly. Terri was left the only survivor of the night's events.

Superman blamed himself for what had happened to Team Excalibur, due to him destroying the Eradicator by dropping it into the sun, but Terri assured him this was not the case; the solar explosion responsible for their mutation had actually occurred before that. What had happened to the crew was simply a tragic accident, and nothing could have saved them.

However, Henshaw had not truly died. Though his physical body had expired, he was able to transfer his consciousness into the LexCorp's mainframe. Now able to control technology, Henshaw appeared to his wife in a robotic body; the shock of the shuttle accident, Henshaw's death and his bizarre rebirth was too much for Terri and eventually led to her insanity and death. By this point, Henshaw's electronic consciousness had begun to disrupt Earth's communications networks. Using NASA communications equipment, Henshaw beamed his mind into the Birthing Matrix which had carried Superman from Krypton to Earth as an infant. Henshaw crafted a small exploration craft from the birthing matrix and departed the planet.

Henshaw spent some time traveling between planets; bonding with local lifeforms to learn about the culture and history of various worlds. Over time, Henshaw became delusional and paranoid, believing that Superman had caused the deaths of himself and his wife, then driven him from the Earth. Arriving on a planet controlled by alien overlord Mongul, Henshaw learned of the Warworld and forcibly recruited Mongul as part of a plan for revenge against Superman.

With Superman dead after his battle with Doomsday, Henshaw was unable to directly seek revenge against the man he had come to perceive as his enemy and instead sought to destroy Superman's reputation. To that end, the Cyborg claimed to be Superman reborn; using knowledge obtained from the birthing matrix to construct a cybernetic body with organic portions genetically identical to Superman and technological components built with Kryptonian alloys. Along with destroying a Superman memorial plaque in front of the Daily Planet, the Cyborg exiled Doomsday into space and defended the President of the United States from an assassination attempt. As a result of the latter incident, the White House endorsed the Cyborg as the "true" Superman and he provided the President with a communications device. When confronted by Lois Lane, the Cyborg claimed his memory was "blurry" but he could see a "spaceship on a farm. The name 'Kent.'"

Henshaw's arrival as Superman was simultaneous with three others: John Henry Irons, the self-styled Last Son of Krypton (Eradicator), and Superboy.

When an alien ship appeared over Coast City, the Cyborg revealed his true intentions, attacking and severely injuring the Eradicator as Mongul's craft destroyed the city, killing millions. The Cyborg was then able to convinced the White House and the public that the Eradicator had been responsible for the destruction of Coast City, turning the public against the Kryptonian. He also came within a hairsbreadth of killing the Eradicator in direct combat. After tricking and defeating Superboy, Henshaw set about preparing to launch a warhead that would convert Metropolis into a second Engine City. However, Superboy was able to escape and warn the resurrected true Superman, John Henry Irons and Supergirl of the Cyborg's plans. The quartet traveled to the site of the former Coast City where Superman, Supergirl and Steel confronted Mongul and the Cyborg, while Superboy stopped the missile from destroying Metropolis. While Green Lantern defeated Mongul, the Cyborg lured Superman and the Eradicator to the Engine City main reactor and attempted to kill Superman with the Kryptonite that powered the it. Henshaw attempted to kill Superman using a concentrated blast of Kryptonite radiation, but the Eradicator intercepted the blast at the expense of his own life. However, as the Kryptonite energy passed through the Eradicator, the radiation was altered and acted to restore Superman's powers. Superman was then able to easily defeat the Cyborg (partially due to the Kryptonite weakening the Cyborg's Kryptonian form) by vibrating Henshaw's body to pieces.

Before exiling Doomsday into space, Henshaw had installed a device on the monster to allow him to detect if Doomsday were to ever escape. After the destruction of his "Cyborg Superman" body, Henshaw transferred his consciousness into this device, as Doomsday was "the safest place in the galaxy" for the Cyborg to hide. Doomsday was eventually brought on board a space cruiser and managed to escape, landing on Apokolips. Henshaw re-emerged once again, reconfiguring an exo-armored Apokoliptian trooper into a new body, establishing his standard appearance with long hair and red armor, and began to lay siege to Apokolips alongside Doomsday (although Henshaw's body possessed Superman's Kryptonian DNA, Doomsday did not seem to perceive the Cyborg as a threat). The Cyborg successfully took over most of Apokolips, but was destroyed by Darkseid's Omega Beams after a short battle with Superman.

Darkseid's attack did not kill the Cyborg; rather, the Omega Effect had stored Henshaw's consciousness in a small orb, with Darkseid planning to use the Cyborg against Superman at a later date. Darkseid eventually freed Henshaw, with the understanding that Henshaw was to leave Apokolips and never return. The Cyborg aligned himself with an intergalactic "tribunal", which was seeking to bring Superman to trial for the crimes of his ancestors. Henshaw assisted the tribunal in capturing Superboy, Supergirl, Steel and Alpha Centurion, who had been preparing to rescue Superman. However, the Cyborg betrayed the tribunal and attempted to conquer their planet for conversion into a new Warworld. Superman and his allies stopped the Cyborg's plan and, when Henshaw's involvement in the destruction of Coast City was brought to the attention of the tribunal, they found the Cyborg guilty of genocide and sentenced him to death. As an electronic consciousness, Henshaw could not be killed by normal means and was transported beyond the event horizon of a black hole, where not even energy could escape from the gravity.

Rather than being destroyed, the Cyborg was transported to another universe. The Cyborg destroyed a planet in another attempt to recreate Warworld, attracting the attention of the Silver Surfer. Their short battle was interrupted by the arrival of Parallax (Hal Jordan), who had been tracking the Cyborg for some time, seeking vengeance for the destruction of Coast City. In the confusion, Henshaw managed to escape and was returned to his native universe.

The Cyborg would again encounter Hal Jordan, at the very brim of the Godwave, a nexus of statues that flow forth energy vital to the preservation of the Fourth World. Parallax used his powers to generate representations of the victims of Coast City, who tore the Cyborg's body apart. Jordan then dispersed Henshaw's consciousness into the Godwave and the Cyborg was once again seemingly destroyed.

During a crisis involving the Godwave, Superman - wearing his blue energy suit - traveled to New Genesis, and encountered Henshaw again. Henshaw had become part of the Godwave's structure and crafted a small world comprised of his memories, which he used to taunt Superman after seemingly being defeated. Unknown to Superman, the Cyborg stored his own consciousness in Superman's technological containment suit. Once Superman returned to Earth, Henshaw escaped and eventually constructed a new body, posing as a substitute high school teacher, Mr. Sormon, in an attempt to become human again, even managing to convince Ashbury Armstrong that he possessed some good. However, in a fit of rage, Henshaw revealed his true identity as the Cyborg and this body was destroyed in a short fight with Superman. To escape detection, Henshaw stored his consciousness in a toy. This toy was later stolen by the Toyman, leading the two villains to join forces to kill Superman. To this end, the Cyborg designed a machine that would break Superman's energy form down into multiple components and beam them to different points in the galaxy, preventing Superman from reforming. A malfunction in the machine caused Superman to split into Superman Blue and Superman Red, the latter of whom eventually defeated and captured the Cyborg.

In a firm sense of irony, Henshaw shared with Superman an encounter with the Fantastic Four, convincing Superman that Galactus was the true ravager of Krypton for a time, the result transformed Superman into the herald of the world devourer for a while. Galactus transformed Henshaw into an inanimate slab of metal after Henshaw demanded he be made his heir, and be made "perfect", since he was half-human, his reduction to this state, void of all human matter, was as perfect as the merciless Galactus could perceive.

Henshaw later attempted to take over Kandor, but this failed when he was defeated by Superman and sent to the Phantom Zone. Henshaw managed to escaped the Phantom Zone and attacked Superman, who was suffering from Kryptonite poisoning at the time. He was defeated with the help of the Kandorians and sent back to the Phantom Zone, swearing revenge. However, he was not encountered on subsequent visits to the Zone.

Henshaw eventually made his way to Sector 3601, to Biot, the homeworld of the Manhunters, where he became their new Grandmaster. He gathered many Green Lanterns who were previously thought to be dead and used them as power sources for his new model of Manhunters, the Highmasters. However, Hal Jordan and Guy Gardner discovered his operation. Jordan and Arisia combined the might of their power rings with one of the Highmasters, destroying the organic portion of Henshaw's body and most of Biot.

The Guardians of the Universe believed that, during Henshaw's time in Sector 3601, he may have discovered one of their most closely guarded secrets: the existence of the Multiverse.

Henshaw remained in custody on Oa until he was freed, along with Superboy-Prime, by a strike force of Sinestro Corps members. He was brought to Qward, where he was made into a herald of the Anti-Monitor, along with Superboy-Prime and the Parallax-possessed Kyle Rayner. The only reason Henshaw joined the Sinestro Corps was that he had been promised a final death at the hands of the Anti-Monitor as a reward for helping him achieve his goals. A death he had longed for, something even Superman could grant him.
Henshaw and his Manhunters headed to Earth to assist the Sinestro Corps in their attack. En route, Henshaw stopped leading the Manhunters, which continued to their pre-programmed destinations. As he watched them go, he remembered everything that had happened to him; from their dreadful shuttle accident to his wife's suicide. He finished this journey of his mind by going to his wife's grave. He dug her corpse out and ripped it into two, shouting that all he wanted was not to be with her, but for his memories to fade.

Meanwhile, the Manhunters begin an assault on the Justice League Satellite. Hawkgirl, Black Lightning, and Red Arrow retaliated, but all three were neutralized when Henshaw assisted in the attack, and he successfully tampered with the mechanics of the satellite core. As the satellite was thrown out of orbit, Superman appeared and engaged Henshaw in battle. Their fight continued on Earth, while Sinestro transported his crew and his ship from the Anti-Matter Universe. At first, Superman seemed to have the upper hand, but after two punches, Henshaw struck with great power and rage, punching him through the Statue of Liberty. By the end, Henshaw had Superman in a choke hold, thinking that the victory is near. However, Superman was not alone. Power Girl and Supergirl came to Superman's aid, and managed to defeat the Cyborg Superman, later throwing him at Superboy-Prime. He commented that they almost managed to kill him that time.

When the Green Lantern Corps decided to detonate New Warworld and the Qwardian Central Power Battery of the Sinestro Corps to destroy the Anti-Monitor, Henshaw was trapped behind a shield and exposed to the massive explosion. Before he was finally killed, he was able to thank the Green Lantern Corps for their mercy in ending his life. A small fraction of Henshaw's corpse was found after the explosion. The Manhunters confirmed that he had perished, but were confused without his leadership. Seeking the leadership "programming" of their grandmaster, the Manhunters funneled a massive amount of energy into the Cyborg Superman, and he experienced yet another resurrection, crying when he realized he is alive yet again.

After the Sinestro Corps War, Hensaw abandoned the Manhunters and was later present during the Blackest Night, trying again to seek his death. Henshaw attempted to provoke Nekron into killing him, but failed as he lacked a heart to attract Nekron's interest. A distraught Henshaw was then approached by an unknown being, who told him that the Guardian Ganthet held the knowledge to destroy him permanently.[20] Henshaw followed this advice and approached Ganthet, coming into an agreement in working with the Alpha Lanterns, with the intentions to augment every Green Lantern, including Ganthet, into an Alpha. His goal of working with the Alpha Lanterns was to alter himself, such that he will be mortal again. He began his experiments on the Alpha Lanterns to reverse-engineer their cyborg attributes into humans. Despite killing several Alpha Lanterns, Hank was ultimately successful in devising a way to reverse-engineer some of them. Before Hensaw could force Ganthet to perform his new surgery on himself, the Green Lantern Corps spoiled his plans and destroyed his physical body. Hank tried to transfer his consciousness into Boodikka. During this attempted transfer of consciousness, Boodikka overpowers Henshaw with her willpower and cuts his essence in half, thus destroying Henshaw.

While surveying the remains of New Krypton, Boodikka was attacked by Doomsday, seemingly unprovoked. However, when Supergirl and Batman got her to the JLA Watchtower, Doomsday quickly followed, revealing why he was attacking her - Henshaw was still alive inside her. Taking over the Watchtower, the presence of Doomsday overrode Henshaw's desire to die, vowing to destroy the beast once and for all even with Batman and Supergirl stuck in the crossfire. With one mighty blow, Henshaw tore through Doomsday, ripping his body apart. However, Doomsday recovered and, to the Cyborg's horror, he became "Cyborg Doomsday." The amalgam creature took over the Watchtower and vanquished Henshaw, kidnapping him and Supergirl in the process.

Henshaw and Supergirl were taken to a satellite along with other Supermen such as the Eradicator, Steel, and Superboy. Instead of assisting his fellow captives, Henshaw explored Doomsday's satellite on his own and subsequently discovered that the Doomsdays that fought the heroes were clones of the original created by Lex Luthor. Although Henshaw was then willing to fight alongside the Supermen against the Doomsdays, Superman incapacitated him by ripping his central node off, knowing that they would not survive a confrontation with the Doomsdays. After the Doomsday clones were sent to another dimension, Henshaw was taken into custody of S.T.A.R. Labs.

TALENTS: Acting, Computers, Student

CONTACTS: Justice Society

HISTORY:
Maxine Hunkel is the granddaughter of the original Red Tornado, Abigail "Ma" Hunkel, an honorary member of the Justice Society and current caretaker of their headquarters. Maxine grew up idolizing her grandmother's allies in the JSA.
As a young girl, Maxine was once kidnapped by T.O. Morrow, the mad scientist who created the second Red Tornado, a powerful android. He injected her with Red Tornado technology nanobytes, though their effects did not manifest until years later.

Cheerful, bubbly, and extremely intelligent (4.0 GPA and a 1300 SAT score in high school), Maxine is a 19-year-old student at Harvard University and an avid fan of musical theater, particularly the play, Wicked. However, her talkative nature and know-it-all personality often alienate her peers and leave the young woman isolated. Her outcast status causes her to suffer from atypical depression.

In recent months, she has begun to manifest unusual superhuman abilities. A sneeze demolished her grandmother's garage and, the next day, she awoke inside a tornado five hundred feet off the ground. The young woman soon realized that she has the power to manipulate wind.

When the Justice Society decides to expand its ranks and provide training to new heroes, Maxine is one of the first recruits on their list. She is invited to join the team by Power Girl and Mr. Terrific and accepts through extreme amounts of excitement (her motormouth response nearly causes them to revoke the offer). Shortly afterwards, she is introduced to the rest of the JSA and her fan girl personality becomes evident in her bubbling reaction to meeting her heroes, particularly fellow teen Stargirl. As a way to ease her pain over seeing Mr. America's death, Stargirl takes her to a room full of colorful fabrics, and (playing on Maxine's college major and interest, the theater) asks her to select her new outfit.

In her 'rookie phase' with the Justice Society, she helped defeat the Fourth Reich, assisted the Justice League during the Lightning Saga, and fought the Heartbreak Slayer when he attacked Justice Society headquarters. Along the way she visited the Fortress of Solitude and teamed up with the android Red Tornado.

HISTORY:
The path of Scott Summers of this universe seemingly followed the same of his Earth-616 counterpart until the day when Beast from an alternate future traveled to their universe in order to inform them they needed to return with him to the future. Scott and the rest of the X-Men accompanied him to a "future" where Scott had killed Xavier, and Jean was dead (with the school now named after her). The shock of this caused Jean's dormant telepathic powers to surface. While confronting the "future" Cyclops, Jean read his mind and was incredibly disturbed at what she had seen. This caused her to reject Scott. Under Jean's leadership, the team decided to stay in this time until its problems were resolved.

Cyclops found himself shunned by the X-Men and other students at the school, and constantly under the watchful eye of Wolverine who was considering killing Scott to stop the older Scott from ever killing Xavier. He decided to leave the school and stole Wolverine's motorcycle. Wolverine chased him down to bring him back to the school, but Cyclops evaded him by blasting him away, continuing his escape. He traveled to a bank where he had kept a deposit box, hoping his future self had kept it. Guards at the bank were alerted to his presence, believing him to be his future self, and attempted to arrest him.

Mystique disguised as Wolverine arrived and freed Cyclops, telling him she was an old friend of Professor Xavier, and told him that he alone could stop and kill his future self. She also told him that Wolverine had corrupted the school and was using it to turn the children into killing machines and that he was the only one that could set it back on track. When the real Wolverine arrived, Mystique escaped, but not before urging Cyclops to start keeping a list of mutants and their powers. Cyclops returned to the school with the real Wolverine.

When Cyclops' future self came to the School in order to find recruits for his X-Men, the young Angel left with him, to young Cyclops' dismay.

Cyclops and the other past X-Men were placed under the tutelage of Kitty Pryde, with whom they were to continue their training. Cyclops continued to uncover more and more about his future, including his marriage to Jean. He eventually uncovered the truth about Mystique, and foiled her scheme to buy Madripoor with the other X-Men.

During a mission to subdue a new mutant, Cyclops, the original X-Men and Kitty Pryde came under attack by Sentinels. They were assisted by the arrival of adult Cyclops and his team, and together they defeated the Sentinels. During the battle however, past Cyclops took a hit, and was briefly clinically dead, causing his future self to blink out of existence. After being healed by Triage, Cyclops recovered and his future self returned. Shortly after that, a team of "X-Men" arrived from the future, to tell the X-Men of the present that the past X-Men needed to return to their own time. Jean sensed that these "X-Men" were hiding something, and tried to urge her companions to flee. Cyclops was the only one that trusted her enough to leave, and the two escaped. After escaping, the two were able to find refuge with adult Cyclops. The future "X-Men" were revealed to be a future Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, after Magik, past Beast, and past Iceman traveled to their future and brought the real future X-Men back.

In a last attempt to accomplish their goal of re-writing history, the Brotherhood instead transported all of the X-Men to Camp Hammond, the site of the X-Men's very first mission. Here, they were attacked by SHIELD who were revealed to have their own Sentinels. The X-Men beat back the assault, and the future Brotherhood was defeated.

After Jean Grey was abducted by the Shi'ar to be put on trial for the crimes her future self committed, Scott and the rest of the X-Men, along with the Guardians of the Galaxy, went to Chandilar in order to rescue her. During this adventure, Scott encountered the father of his future self, Corsair, and decided to leave the X-Men in order to explore space with him once Jean was rescued.
Cyclops starts to doubt his decision to leave Earth, Jean Grey and his X-companions, instead of facing his problems. When he and the Starjammers encounter, and defeat, a hostile Badoon ship, he realizes that what he needs is to be by his father's side. Corsair and Cyclops then take the captured Badoon ship on a discovery journey in space. After reuniting with the X-Men while investigating the Black Vortex alongside the Guardians of the Galaxy, Scott rejoined them when they returned to Earth.

The young X-Men decided to part ways and lay low for a while with the emergence of a new weave of anti-mutant hysteria and the beginning of the M-Pox crisis, during which Cyclops' present-self died. Cyclops initially didn't answer the calls of his friends when Beast decided to reunite the team, but eventually rejoined them after they assisted him in combating a group of misguided young Mutant extremists named the Ghost of Cyclops in Chicago, Illinois which Scott had been investigating during his break from the team. Even though Scott returned to superheroics, he remained deeply affected by the fate of his present self, due to the fact his final actions led him to be regarded as a terrorist and a villain worldwide. Cyclops' present-self had seemingly died fighting the Inhumans after destroying one of their Terrigen Clouds, which were the cause of the M-Pox.

Following the second superhuman civil war, the younger members of the Avengers, Ms. Marvel, Spider-Man and Nova, split from the rest of the team, disillusioned by the behavior of their elders. Together with other young heroes, they formed the Champions. Ms. Marvel's call to action to the young generation to stand up for a better tomorrow resonated with Cyclops, so he decided to follow the Champions and ask them to join. Even though the young heroes were initially reluctant due to the reputation of Scott's older-self, they admitted him into their ranks.

Young Cyclops was one of the numerous mutants who banded together to attack the Inhumans after it was discovered the final Terrigen Cloud was weeks from being completely assimilated into Earth's atmosphere, rendering the planet uninhabitable for mutants.[24] In the middle of the conflict, Cyclops' body was possessed by the body-snatcher Inhuman known as Mosaic. While being forced to take a backseat to the control of his own body, Scott gained access to residual memories Mosaic kept of his previous victim, Magneto. Through these memories, Scott learned that the death of the older Scott as well as the last act that made him infamous had been orchestrated by Emma Frost. In reality, Cyclops had died of M-Pox, and Frost used a mental projection of him to wage war in his name.

When Cyclops regained control of his body and encountered Emma Frost, he exposed her lies to both X-Men and Inhumans, helping ease the conflict. Unfortunately, Frost escaped after the Inhuman queen Medusa willingly destroyed the last remaining cloud. Even though his name had been cleared among his peers, the young Cyclops remained frustrated at the fact that the world at large still didn't know the truth, and that Emma Frost hadn't paid yet for what she had done.

Shortly after the end of the war, Beast assembled his time-displaced friends to inform them that he had found a way to go to the past. However, he intended to show them an unfortunate side discovery. He had only managed to travel to the past within the timeline they were currently inhabiting and not their own, which led to them finding this timeline's young X-Men in the past they initially believed would be available for them to return. Now certain of their inability to return to their time, the young X-Men looked forward to the new future they could build, which was no longer tied to that of their present selves.

- From the wiki: It was said that Pharaoh Kha-Ef-Re possessed a powerful artifact, a figurine in the shape of a Blue Scarab; with its powers, he was able to defend his followers from all evil. When Kha-Ef-Re died, the Scarab was buried with him in his tomb; over the years, thousands died attempting to claim it for their own.
In August of 1939, several weeks before the Second World War, archaeologist Dan Garrett and his companion Prof. Luri Hoshid entered Kha-Ef-Re's tomb, becoming the first people to reach the Pharaoh's sarcophagus in millennia. Atop the sarcophagus rested Kha-Ef-Re's scarab.

As Dan and Luri admired the figurine, a cave-in began, the walls of the tomb collapsing on them. As Dan attempted to save Luri, the scarab flared to life, transforming Dan into a costumed superhero. Dan used his new-found superhuman strength to stop the cave-in, identifying himself as the Blue Beetle.
The second and a half Blue Beetle. The first Blue Beetle, published by Fox Publications, was rookie cop Dan Garret (one T). He had the blue chain mail costume, and for a while took a super "Vitamin 2X" to give him super energy. He lasted from 1939 until about 1950, and even had his own radio show. He was arguably one of the most successful golden age characters, lasting longer than most, save the biggest stars from DC (National&All-American), Fawcett, and Timely/Atlas/Marvel.

The second Blue Beetle was named Dan Garrett (two-Ts). After Charlton Comics got the rights to Blue Beetle from Fox, they did some reprints in the 1950s. But in the 1960s, they tried to do what Julie Schwartz did to Flash, Green Lantern, and Hawkman. He was the archaeologist with the scarab. And if one actually reads those tales, he is clearly a "Superman class" character. Actually, they read like someone trying to do a "serious Captain Marvel" with an adult Billy Batson. His costume resembled Dan Garret's but had goggles instead of a mask and did NOT have the chain mail.

The third Blue Beetle is Ted Kord. However...

Starting in those Ted Kord stories, we started seeing a predecessor Blue Beetle, who was Dan Garret (one T again), and resembled Dan Garrett, but was honestly a LOT less powerful than the Dan Garrett who was published. He had to be, to explain his being killed.

And, when DC bought the Charlton characters in the mid 1980s, they got Ted Kord and his predecessor. They put the second-T back in his surname, but he was clearly "2b" version. They also started drawing him with the chainmail costume, even though that wasn't the Charlton Blue Beetle, that was the Victor Fox Blue Beetle.

HOORAY- CYCLOONNNNNNNNNE!!!!

She's the best. I haven't seen that character in so freaking long. I feel that jokes about Elsa, Belle and my Giantesses have superseded my love of Maxine, given how my thread has evolved over the years. But she can still be my girl. I'm glad you remembered :).

Present Group Affiliation:

KNOWN POWERS:
Adapted Anatomy: Angel's whole body (bones, musculature, fat cells, etc.) is designed for flight and is extremely light. The result of this is that he suffers much less physical damage when he drops from a great distance (treat as Remarkable body armor when taking a fall). Breathing and seeing normally, even at high altitudes, is never a problem with Angel. As a matter of fact, his eyesight is as good as many predatory birds and he is considered Monstrous for purposes of spotting something he is looking for when he is flying high in the air.

Black Vortex Empowerment: As result of being under the cosmic power of the corrupting Black Vortex Warren gained a whole new list of abilities of a similar yet radicalized variation of his future selves celestial tech powers, growing powerful enough to shatter the Kree home-world's defenses with ease.
  • Cosmic Wings: Am/50 airspeed, CL 1000 in space. Having been altered by the vortex had infused Warrens wingspan with celestial energies enabling him faster than light travel through space.
  • Cosmic Energy: In/40, Angel can discharge enough cosmic energy from his wings.
  • Celestial Armor: Rm/30, His transformation enables the cladding of otherworldly materials onto himself enabling the better channeling of his new cosmic power.
  • Energy Swords: In/40 damage, able to cleave through up to Un/100 materials. These new powers allows him to conjure a pair of energized blades with which he can apparently cleave through anything.
  • Self-Sustenance: Cl 1000, Angel does not need to breathe while he is flying through the cosmos. It is unknown if he needs to at all.
TALENTS: Business, Aerial Combat, Martial Arts: B

CONTACTS: X-Men

HISTORY:
After retrieving the Black Vortex from his father, Mister Knife, Star-Lord and Kitty Pryde gathered both the Guardians of the Galaxy and the X-Men at Spartax to decide what to do with such a powerful item. The heroes were tracked down by Mister Knife's cosmically-empowered Slaughter Lords and overpowered.

Gamora submitted to the Black Vortex in order to face the Slaughter Lords, and be able to escape to Spartax's moon with her allies. Beast and Angel submitted to the Black Vortex, and accompanied Gamora in a journey to attempt to empower the entire universe. However, at the first planet they stopped they were assaulted by the Accuser Corps, who took the Vortex from them. In retaliation, they attacked Hala. A cosmically-empowered Ronan managed to force them to flee to a distant planet.

Magik and Rocket Raccoon later tracked them down and talked sense into them, so they could help them fight J'son and his Slaughter Lords. After J'son recovered the Vortex and used its power on Thane to encase the entirety of Spartax in an amber construct, the heroes got the Vortex back and used it on X-Man Kitty Pryde so she could use her now-enhanced phasing powers to phase Spartax through the amber construct and save the planet. Before getting rid of the Vortex, some of the cosmically empowered heroes decided to remove their cosmic powers, Angel wasn't one of them.

Some time after returning to Earth, the young X-Men decided to part ways and lay low for a while with the emergence of a new weave of anti-mutant hysteria and the beginning of the M-Pox crisis. Angel and X-23, now going by the alias of Wolverine, went vacationing to Vail, Colorado. They were called in months later by Beast to reunite the X-Men (minus Jean Grey and with the additions of Genesis and Oya), in order to go on a road trip, and help out people across the globe wherever it was needed, with the help of a teleporting Bamf named Pickles.

After discovering a way to travel through time, Beast assembled his time-displaced friends to show them an unfortunate side discovery.

CONTACTS: Team Titans

HISTORY:
When Dagon was only fourteen-years-old, he was abducted by a military commander named Stalg and taken to Castle Dracula in the mountains of Transylvania. Stalg recovered the remains of the origi-nal vampire lord Dracula and used his DNA to give Dagon vampire-like superhuman abilities. It was his intention to use Dagon as a template for the creation of an ar-my of the undead in service to his master Lord Chaos.

Unfortunately, for Commander Stalg, it was the night of the Wal-purgis Eclipse - a time when all evil was fated to be purged from the land. Mystical forces combined with the souls of Transylvanian villagers to create a grotesque creature that razed Castle Dracula. The creature attacked Stalg's troops, ultimately killing Stalg him-self.

Dagon, now calling himself the Nightrider, recognized that one of Stalg's younger officers, Corporal Charles Watkins, had shown him compassion while he was impris-oned and felt he was not deserving of the same fate as Commander Stalg. He convinced the Walpurgis entity to spare Watkins life.

Dagon and Watkins soon became members of the superhuman re-sistance team known as the Team Titans.

Unknown to both David and Stalg, the bones he found were not those of Dracula but those of the mutant Vampry, whose powers were simi-lar to a traditional vampire. The combination of Vampry’s genetic mutation and David’s own meta-gene turned David into a pseudo-vampire like Vampry with slightly different powers.

T.N.T. was killed in battle during that time, though, and Dyna-Mite had to continue on without him. After the war, Dunbar enrolled in Princeton University and found himself failing his courses for three semesters in a row, which eventually had him expelled. It was on the day that Dunbar got expelled that he was contacted by aspiring politician Tex Thompson for his campaign of promoting a better America, that he would be chosen for the experiment that would make him that nation's greatest superhero. Dunbar accepted the offer, though not realizing that it would cost him his life as his brain was removed from his body and replaced with Adolf Hitler's prior to the transformation that would turn him into Dynaman.

CONTACTS: Spider-Man, Moon Knight, New Warriors

HISTORY:
Chris Powell was the teenage son of Mike Powell, a cop, and Grace Powell, a District Attorney. Following his younger twin brothers, Jon and Jason, to the abandoned amusement park across from his home, Chris discovered his father taking a bribe from mob boss Phillipe Bazin.

While trying to escape with his brothers from Bazin's henchmen, Chris discovered an amulet that transposed him into the Darkhawk armor. When his father disappeared after Chris saw him, he swore to use the Darkhawk armor as an "Edge against crime."

Darkhawk's powers included a force blast which emanated from the amulet on his chest, a force shield from the same amulet, a claw cable which could serve as both a Wolverine-like claw, and a grapple cable, glider wings and later flight capability, enhanced vision and strength, and an image underneath the Darkhawk helmet which served to frighten and distract his enemies.

He often teamed up with Spider-Man. As a sometime member of the New Warriors, he befriended Speedball, Nova, and later, Turbo.

During his tenure as a crime fighter, he was often trying to rescue his father, mother or other family members.

He developed quite a roster of enemies: he would fight villains such as Hobgoblin and Tombstone, who were seeking to take his amulet, with the later succeeding. He was extremely weakened and even dying from having the amulet removed, but still able to use all of his powers except for turning back into human form to heal. Once he retrieved the amulet he was able to put it back in his chest and fully heal. Darkhawk had 2 separate encounters with Venom, who felt that Chris was good natured and held back whereas Darkhawk was greatly opposed to Venom's ideals and way of handling crime, and swore to bring him to justice, despite Venom offering to be his ally. Lodestone: a magnetically-powered villain developed by Bazin, was often pitted against Darkhawk. He also fought against some who would later ally with him, such as Portal, a teleporting mutant who killed another Darkhawk and stole parts of his armor, Savage Steel, the armor created by the secret police cabal that Chris' dad had been a member of, and Damek, a mercenary sent from the future to kill Darkhawk.

Chris learned that his armor was actually an autonomously existing android armor, one of five commissioned by an alien mob lord named Dargin Bokk, being held in a sentient space ship, Osch, in Null Space. When Chris grasped the amulet, it actually caused his body to switch places with that of the Darkhawk body, although his mind remained in control of the 'replacement' body.

After helping them several times, Darkhawk was brought aboard the Avengers West Coast as a reserve member, but saw little action with them after becoming a member, because they were dissolved shortly thereafter. Nonetheless, he did at least start a lasting friendship with Spider-Woman.

Later, Chris and Darkhawk actually split into two separate entities, with the armor being updated into the "2.0" form, as it was informally known. This advanced form of armor gave Darkhawk new powers, such as the ability to form a force shield encasing his body, an actual "Hawk" construct (a gigantic force-field shaped like a hawk), and the ability to summon weapons from Osch. Darhawk 2.0 and Chris re-merged, with the prospect of no longer needing to use the amulet in order to switch bodies.

Chris joined a self-help group of ex-teenage-super-heroes, the Loners, who admitted to being addicted to their powers. Members include: Turbo, the Green Goblin IV, Richochet, Spider-Woman III, and Lightspeed. The group was hired by a mysterious benefactor -- later revealed to be Rick Jones -- to track down the Runaways in Los Angeles. He made an enemy of Nekra, a woman who seemed to be held prisoner by manufacturers of MGH.

In a divergent timeline, he was the de facto leader of the unofficial League of Losers.

Powell displayed trouble controlling his anger in his Darkhawk persona, leading to a short skirmish with Turbo. Dismayed with himself, Powell admitted to his teammates that he suffered a nervous breakdown. Powell decided to never turn into Darkhawk again, but this decision did not last long, as shortly thereafter the group battled the notorious Avengers villain, Ultron. Darkhawk delivered the final blow, using a darkforce blast at point blank range to blow Ultron to pieces. Following the battle and the revelation of Jones' involvement, the Loners opted to remain together and act as a more traditional superhero team.

Deciding to register with the government, Darkhawk was assigned to the position of security chief at Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S.. During the Skrull invasion, he teamed up with his old teammate Nova.

The being known as Talon came to Earth, and offered to teach Chris how to control his amulet. They went to the Negative Zone to fight Annihilus. There, Chris bonded fully with his amulet. This allowed him to learn that the Fraternity of Raptors that Talon represented was evil and that the Fraternity had created the amulets. Evilhawk had been a hallucination caused by his mind, which had been unable to process all the information the Amulet gave him. The Raptor, known as Razor, took over Chris' body and assassinated Lilandra.

Later he fought Gyre another member of the Fraternity of Raptors that had been recruited as a pawn of the Sphinx. Darkhawk, Nova, Black Bolt, Mr. Fantastic and Namorita defeated the Sphinx and his pawns. Darkhawk was able to separate Gyre from his Kree host by using the same technique Talon used to separate Chris from Darkhawk and bring back Razor.

Arcade kidnapped Chris and fifteen teenage heroes and brought them to Murderworld, a secluded island where no one could find them, and forced them to fight each other to the death, and only the last man standing within thirty days would be allowed to leave. One night, he was attacked and had his amulet removed, leaving his fate unknown. His amulet would get passed around by others locked in Murderworld.

Chris was later shown in a coma-like state in a strange tank along with the deceased heroes, where Arcade appeared to be healing him. Waking up, he located Arcade and knocked him out. He later reclaimed his amulet and was among the survivors of the battle.

HISTORY:
Dawnstar is the daughter of Mistrider & Moonwalker and was born on the planet Starhaven a planet colonized by Amerinds from Earth. Early on in the colonization of Starhaven the colonist were bio-engineered with wings and the ability to survive in space without oxygen or protection from the rigors of space.

Thus like all the native inhabitants of Starhaven, Dawnstar was born with a pair of large feathered wings with a wingspan of 16 feet from wingtip to wingtip that allow her to fly at supersonic speeds in an atmosphere and faster than light speeds in space. Also like the rest of her people Dawnstar is able to fly in space without the need of protection from the rigors of space and without the need for oxygen. However unlike the rest of her people she was born a mutant with the unique ability to track any life form light-years from her own location. Dawnstar also had two younger brothers, Greybird and Greatfire.

When Dawnstar reached adolescence her mutant tracking ability kicked in and her parents built a thriving business having Dawnstar guide star ships through hazardous areas of space.

Dawnstar later received an invitation to attend the Legion Academy, which she reluctantly accepted at the age of 16 years of age. Her tracking and navigation talents earned her membership on her first mission. Dawnstar used her Legion stipend to pay for enhancing her home world's defenses.

Dawnstar has served in many missions with the Legion, contributing her often-underrated talents at tracking and high-speed travel to perform many rescues of her colleagues, as well as investigations of personal disappearances and similar mysteries. During the early days of the Crisis on Infinite Earths, Harbinger recruited her among others as the first line of defense.

Dawnstar had a lengthy romance with fellow Legionnaire Drake Burroughs (Wildfire). But because of the fact that Wildfire unique circumstances the romance never really went very far. However they each respected the other's defiant, outspoken personality, although they each counseled each other on working with their talents as part of a team instead of acting as individuals. Wildfire was an anti-energy being in a containment suit, and thus had no physical body. When he briefly was able to partially reverse this, they attempted a physical relationship, but were unsuccessful.

CONTACTS: Phantom Stranger (low); Rama Kushna (low)

HISTORY Boston Brand is a ghost. A walking Deadman if you will. He was formerly a circus acrobat who was murdered during a trapeze performance by a mysterious assailant known only as "the Hook." So he could search for his murderer and obtain justice, the Hindu goddess, Rama Kushna, gave his spirit the power to possess any living being. While he was searching for his killer, he felt obliged to help others. He used his power to alter circumstances that benefited the innocent and corrected any wrongdoing.
Ultimately, Boston found out the truth about his murder and came to accept his role as one who intervenes in mortals' lives.

Batman and Deadman fist met in Gotham City, as Deadman had tracked down his killer there and Batman helped him find the criminal.

Some time later, Deadman was hypnotized and forced to attack Batman. Deadman started possessing people and attacking Batman with their bodies. After releasing Deadman from the hypnosis, Batman learned that the responsible behind it was Sensei, who planned on destroying Nanda Parbat. Batman and Deadman went there and defeated the Sensei, and Deadman learned that he could become physical Nanda Parbat. Some time later, Deadman teamed-up with the Dark Knight again in order to dismantle a criminal operation that provided criminals new identities to prevent being captured. During the mission, Deadman fell in love with the leader of the criminal organization and he had to kill her to save Batman's life.

Deadman also assisted Batman on the capture of the Boomerang Killer, but afterwards, Deadman took possession of the body of Thomas Wayne, Jr., who was Batman's lost brother. Deadman used Thomas body to become a professional circus performer as he was while he was alive, but he was eventually forced to leave Thomas' body in order to help Batman and Superman capture a gang of smugglers. It was then that Thomas sacrificed himself to save Batman's life, leaving Deadman without a body to inhabit once again. After this, Deadman worked with Batman on several other occasions.

Over the course of several years, Rama Kushna has had Deadman confront the sorcerer Caldera during multiple times. Due to this, he has altered the fate of the souls of several deceased superheroes. Two of them are Flash (Barry Allen) and Robin (Jason Todd). During the Robin incident, he tried to possess the Joker, but was driven out by the man's insanity.

In the Sins of Youth incident, Deadman was one of the dozens of heroes reduced to a pre-teen age by Klarion the Witch Boy, and an alien machine owned by Doiby Dickles. He was still the same spirit, but now has a small "d" on his chest. He assisted "Secret" in confronting Teekl, Klarion's companion, in an effort to restore everyone. He also joined in the fight against mystically created, and mystically altered, villains.

During the Day of Judgment incident, Boston Brand traveled with a group of heroes to the frozen wastelands of Hell. Their goal was to restart the demonic fires, thus recalling all the demons from the earthly plane. An accident stranded Brand and the others under the frozen waters of the River Styx. This forced them to live out what was to them, Hell. To survive this situation, Brand concentrated on the pain from the sharpshooter's bullet. This survival tactic gave him an epiphany... "he needed to die in order to learn how to live."

The corporeal remains of Boston Brand were recently raised by a Black Lantern Ring making him one of the of the Black Lantern Corps. Deadman, having newly learned of Blackest Night attempted to possess his corpse but was unable to control its actions and was forced to leave the body due to the agony involved. He did however receive impressions of what was going on in Blackest Night and was able to inform the Lanterns on how to defeat Nekron. He was one of twelve individuals resurrected by the power of the white light, startled to find himself among the living once more.

Following the Blackest Night, Boston is now the only person still in possession of a White Lantern Ring. The White Entity reveals to Boston that it is dying and his task is to find the chosen one who will take over for the Entity. Boston begins to search for the chosen one with the help of Hank Hall and Dawn Granger, the latter of which Boston falls in love with.

While searching for the chosen one, Deadman's ring reaches 100% and transforms him into a White Lantern, transporting him to Hawkman and Hawkgirl. The Entity tells them that in order to reclaim their lives, they need to learn to live apart from each other as they value love over life. The couple refuses to be separated again and the Entity says "So be it", reducing them to white dust in front of Deadman's eyes.
