Invulnerabilities: like all Eternals, Superman has several invulnerabilities.
  • Invulnerability: In/40 resistance to all attacks
  • Cold, Radiation, Toxins & Disease: CL 1000
  • Life Support: CL 1000, Superman has no need to eat or breathe while exposed to an abundant source of cosmic energy like our sun.
Cosmic Energy Manipulation: Kryptonians can channel cosmic energy like any other Eternal. Superman has developed several power stunts.
  • Heat Vision: Am/50
  • Hyper-hearing: Rm/30

Psionics: The Kryptonian Mind possesses several powers common amongst Eternals.
  • • Flight: ShX/150

  • Green Kryptonite: causes his body's cells to deteriorate, similar to radiation poisoning in a human being. Exposure to Green Kryptonite causes Superman to lose all his powers at -1CS per round. He also loses 1 rank of Strength and Endurance (with its loss of Health) per round until death occurs at Shift-0 Endurance. Removal of the Green Kryptonite enables Superman's body to regain lost ranks at a rate of one per round.
  • Red Sun Radiation: the planet Krypton Orbited a red giant, this kind of sun produces a specific frequency of radiation that negates the energy from a yellow sun. Exposure to radiation from a red star causes complete negation of Kryptonians powers. They return at a rate of 1CS per round following a round of exposure to yellow sun radiation.
  • Agoraphobic: Due to living most of his life in a capsule after Krypton's destruction, Val-Zod has developed a fear of open spaces.
Talents: Kryptonian Science

Contacts: The Society, Power Girl, Batman II

- From the Wiki: Val-Zod is one of the last Kryptonians of his universe and the second to use the mantle of Superman.
Becoming the last of his House after his parents' execution by Krypton's court, Val quickly made friends with fellow orphan Kara Zor-El. Moments before Krypton's destruction, he, Kara, his foster brother and another child managed to escape and survive their planet's destruction thanks to Jor-El and Lara.

Through his trip, Val was educated by his parents' knowledge recorded on his capsule, teaching him that violence was the stupidest way to overcome issues. Driving him to become a pacifist man.

Falling on Earth, he was found by Terry Sloan who offered him asylum to "protect" him from the outside world, becoming a recluse.

He was found by the new Wonders who were looking for the mysterious alien to fight a brainwashed Superman and they discovered that he too was a Kryptonian. Suffering a panic attack after being freed, Val revealed that he spent most of his life on a capsule, thus he was afraid of open spaces. So Lois told him that it was okay to be afraid and that, being a Kryptonian, he could do something to help everyone.

Starting to develop his abilities, Lois tried to teach Val how to use his powers by finally going outdoors and try to fly. He was doing his best when they were attacked by a horde of Parademons lead by Superman who was behind Val. Saved by Lois, he and Hawkgirl were alone against the Parademons until they were saved by Green Lantern who took them to safety. Worried about Lois, Val told Batman that they must save her, but their plan was interrupted by Apokoliptian forces who forced them to evacuate the Batcave and escape to Amazonia. Batman blamed Val for not using his powers and letting Red Arrow die, saying it's all on him. When Jimmy approached him, he told him that it wasn't his fault before asking him what he was hiding beneath his hoodie, to which he revealed was the symbol of the House of El.

He explained Jimmy the situation when the planet was suddenly being sucked by a giant Boom Tube, so when Fate enlightened him, he decided to rise up and stop Superman who clashed against him until he started to crack and crumble, revealing to be a twisted, perverted version of Superman who became dust. The battle won, the Wonders decided to use this victory to reclaim their world from Apokolips.

Val went to the Outskirts of Geneva alongside Lois and Thomas to save the people from the remaining Apokoliptian fire pits when two strangers arrived to the scene. When things were getting settled, a massive earthquake heralded the arrival of a female creature that emanated from the fire pit.

They fought against the self-proclaimed Fury of War until she took control of Lois, Helena and Kara[10] with the intention of killing them while she joined her Fury sisters. However, Lois' robotic body managed to reboot their minds and get free. Deciding to go right into the fire pits, they took a detour to a nearby lab that sent a distress signal. The lab was being attacked by mutated creatures that could potentially contaminate the world, thus he and Kara had to combine their speed and strength to generate the impact force of a neutron bomb, effectively destroying the threat and saving everyone.

Val used the remains of the destroyed lab to create protection suits for Batman and Huntress in order to descend to the fire pit, walking for hours before being confronted by DeSaad who took Helena and escaped with her. Luckily, Batman had a tracking device that could lead them straight to Helena, following the trail to the lowest levels until they found what appeared to be the long lost Superman. It was another clone, since they were currently on DeSaad's cloning facility full of imperfect replicas of Superman, meaning that the original may still be alive. Thomas insisted that Helena was more important than the fallen hero, suffering the Miraclo's intoxication that was driving him mad, forcing Val to destroy his drug.

At that moment, the dead clones awoke and went through a destructive rampage before being neutralized by Batman's electromagnetic pulse. Searching once again for Helena, they came across Superman's ripped shield that was kept as a trophy, as well as discovering that Helena's vital signs suddenly disappeared, fearing the worst. They went behind DeSaad when this time, they encountered the real Clark Kent being held on a stasis pod, awakened by his wife before discovering that he was powerless and that DeSaad was creating armies of Parademons, right before being confronted by the new Fury of Famine.

They left Helena for Kara while Val took the rest to safety, but it was short as DeSaad appeared to unleash the Avatar of the Red upon them. Val quickly deduced the situation and discovered that the Red Avatar must be freed in order to finally destroy the entire cloning facility, something that Superman did by connecting himself to the entire network, successfully using his blood as poison for the whole labyrinth, releasing the Red Avatar while sacrificing himself.

The battle won, Val and Kara buried the previous champion of Earth on a peaceful hill before traveling to a World Army outpost. There, Val heard the entire planet rejoice at the fire pits' extinction, receiving a call from Flash requesting assistance against the Furies. Arriving to the battlefield, Val defeated the Fury of War by overloading her cells with radiation, shutting her powers off. Unfortunately, Death's child was finally born to revage the planet's heart. They couldn't do much since Atom's Heaven was under the attack of the Protofuries led by Barda, destroying everything on their path until they arrived to push them off. Val and Kara joined Commander Sato and Steel on Atom's Heaven HQ when Apokolips' terraformer fell to Earth, with Val immediately recognizing the threat.

Val, Kara and Lois begin their attack against the terraformer, forcing it to unleash Parademon hordes to distract them until Commander Sato commanded them to attack Apokolips itself, crossing paths with a weathered Green Lantern who failed to shield Earth from Apokolips.

HISTORY:
Val Armorr was the son of Japan's greatest crimelord, Kirau Nezumi, also known as Black Dragon, When he was born, his mother, the American secret agent Valentina Armorr, tried to hide him from his father, but she failed and was killed for her affront. Japan's biggest hero Sensei Toshiaki, the White Crane, eventually killed Black Dragon for his crimes and adopted the infant Val. He raised Val as if he were his own son, and trained him in all manner of the martial arts. Val became the youngest warrior ever to earn the title Samurai, and he went to work for his local shogun. However, after trying his best and failing to please his supervisor, he quit and searched the galaxy for new forms of battle to master.

When Val returned to Earth, he found that the Legion of Super-Heroes were searching for new recruits to help fend off a creature of incredible power called a Sun Eater. He applied, and, although he had no superhuman powers, was accepted, when he challenged Superboy to single combat and so impressed the Boy of Steel that Superboy vouched for his admission to the Legion. His Legion career almost ended ignominiously when fellow recruit Nemesis Kid framed him for betraying Earth to the Khunds, but Nemesis Kid's own treachery was discovered in time, and Val went on to become one of the greatest Legionnaires ever. As Karate Kid, Val was the Legion's leader for one term and once took on the entire Fatal Five single-handedly, clearly defeating the Persuader, Emerald Empress, and Mano (though Mano was largely a matter of luck as the Kid admitted to himself). At one point or another he launched solo flying kicks at villains whose power level far exceeded Superboy, including Validus, Mordru, Omega and even Darkseid. Though they had little effect, they showed the degree of his fearless courage.

Val fell in love with Princess Projectra, who joined the Legion at the same time he did. In order to prove his worthiness of the princess's hand, he took a leave of absence and spent about a year in the primitive 20th century. During his visit there, the Karate Kid lived in New York City and befriended a super-powerd being known as Diamondeth. He found himself facing such notable adversaries as Commander Blud, Major Disaster, Pulsar and the Lord of Time. He returned to the 30th century to find Projectra's father dead. With Val's and the other Legionnaires' help, she won the throne from over cousin Pharoxx. Val officially became Projectra's consort soon afterward and resigned from the Legion.

Wedded bliss did not last long. He and Projectra returned from their honeymoon to find that her planet, Orando, had been taken over by the Legion of Super-Villains. Val, Projectra, and several other Legionnaires were captured by the villains. When the heroes escaped to oppose the villains, Val fought their leader, Nemesis Kid. Nemesis Kid beat Val almost to death, and Val wanted to continue to fight so that he could die in battle—the ultimate honor by his cultural standards. But at Projectra's urging, Val instead used his remaining strength to destroy the power source for the machines that were moving Orando into a strange dimension. In revenge, Projectra killed Nemesis Kid soon afterward. A memorial to Val was built on Shanghalla.

Legion of Super-Heroes continuity note: The original Legion's continuity ended during Zero Hour in 1994 when they were replaced by the Reboot Legion. Following Infinite Crisis in 2006, they return to regular continuity as part of a divergent timeline and are said to have disappeared after the Crisis on Infinite Earths in 1986. In the Lightning Saga they reappear and meet Superman as adults.

At some point prior to his death, the Karate Kid was sent backwards in time to the early 21st century. Justice League member Black Lightning discovered Val's unconscious form wearing a Trident costume. He brought him to the Batcave where Batman used his hi-tech computer systems to confirm Val's identity. Val however, had lost his true memory and claimed that his name was Wes Holloway – a member of the Trident Guild. The Karate Kid lived up to his name as he fought Batman to a standstill in hand-to-hand combat before Batman out-thought him and Black Lightning knocked him out. Unsure of what to do with him, Batman and Black Lightning brought him to the Justice League Satellite where Val was contained within one of their prisoner cells. League member Red Arrow poked fun at him, comparing him to the title character from the 1985 film The Karate Kid. Val's comrades in the Legion of Super-Heroes arrived in the 21st century and reunited with Val. They aided the League as well as the Justice Society of America in defeating a rogue computer system known as Computo. At the close of this "Lightning Saga", the Legion of Super-Heroes returned to their normal timeline, but Val was left behind.

A short time later, another Legion member, Triplicate Girl (now calling herself Una) arrived in the 21st century and reunited with the Karate Kid. They discovered that the Karate Kid was dying from an unidentified terminal illness and sought to cure him. Their quest to find a cure brought them to visit Barbara Gordon, where it is revealed that Val is dying. They are sent to see a Mr. Orr, who declares that he has the answers they seek.

Upon arriving at Orr's compound, Karate Kid briefly battles Equus, until Orr arrives on the scene, and tells them that Karate Kid's illness is similar to the OMAC virus. Under the order of Desaad, a lackey of Darkseid, Orr tells them to visit Buddy Blank in Colorado. Equus and a misunderstanding with the cops and Supergirl delays the trip. Val then meets Buddy Blank and his grandson, who take them to see Brother Eye. The entity scans Val, informing him that he is infected by the Morticoccus virus, and directs the group to what was once Blüdhaven.

Brother Eye had detected a similar strain there. In Blüdhaven, the group encounters the Atomic Knights and Firestorm. When Val's sickness reaches breaking point, Brother Eye frees itself, and travels to Blüdhaven, turning it into its new base, and uses the Atomic Knights and Firestorm as power sources. He was later brought on Apokolips, as Brother Eye intended to assimilate the Morticoccus during Apokolips' assimilation. As the attempts fail, Brother Eye is forced to assimilate Una instead, having her carry Val inside himself for vivisection. As Brother Eye is defeated, both Val and Una are freed, but Val is now grievously wounded, with Una pleading for his life as the other assembled heroes consider the idea of killing him before the virus spreads. When the group arrives on another of the 52 Earths, Val is taken to Project Cadmus and dies as Dubbilex examines him. During the autopsy, the Morticoccus is released, and spreads its infection into the air. Because of assimilating Val's 31st-century blood, it is practically immune to any form of treatment.

The bodies of Val and Una are eventually discovered by the Gotham City Police Department on New Earth, and Superman and the visiting Lightning Lad mourn their passing. It is later revealed that their bodies were planted there by the Time Trapper.

HISTORY:
Tatsu Yamashiro, alias Katana was an average Japanese girl, save for her proficiency in the martial arts. Two brothers, Maseo and Takeo Yamashiro, both proclaimed their love for her. While she liked both, she chose Maseo. This angered Takeo, who refused to attend the couple's wedding. By this time, he had joined the Yakuza and as a result, his family disowned him.

After the deaths of Tatsu's parents, she and Maseo started a family of their own, and she gave birth to twins, Yuki and Reiko.

Meanwhile, Takeo rose in rank of the Yakuza, and one of his exotic tastes included ancient weapons. He was presented with a pair of matched swords by General Karnz, one of which Takeo favored due to its mystical properties, which would come to be known as the Soultaker Sword.

One night, Takeo took both swords to the Yamashiro residence to slay his brother with the sword. He quickly struck Maseo down, but Katana took Soultaker from him. In the course of the fight, Takeo accidentally started a fire, and Tatsu's family died.

With Soultaker in her possession, Tatsu began training as a samurai under a master called Tadashi. After much time she graduated from his tutorship and left for America where she intended to use her talents to fight for justice. She took the codename Katana after the sword that she wielded.

Eventually Tatsu journeyed to Markovia, a small Baltic state, where she had tracked down Karnz, and she was successful in killing him. After the fight, she encountered a young girl who was named Halo. The two joined up to rescue Batman, who got captured by Baron Bedlam. Katana and Halo worked together to free Batman and later, all of them joined the Markovian war to defeat Baron Bedlam. Like this, Katana and Halo became founding members of the team called the Outsiders, alongside Black Lightning, Geo-Force and Metamorpho.

The team managed to end the Baron's tyranny in Markovia and moved to Gotham City, where they set up their headquarters in the underground base of operations of the Wayne Foundation building. Tatsu became Halo's guardian and the two moved into the penthouse of the same place. During one of their first missions, the Outsiders confronted the Cryonic Man and Katana was kidnapped by the villain, who wanted to remove all her organs. Thanks to the rest of the team. Katana was rescued and the villain was stopped.

At the same time, Takeo was still at large and had followed Tatsu to Gotham City. Secretly he switched swords with her and left for Tokyo with the Outsiders on his tail. Takeo took the sword to his master, the godfather of the Yakuza, known only as the Oyabun. Performing a specific ritual, the Oyabun and Takeo managed to recall the souls that inhabited the sword, who proceeded to take corporeal form. Among them were legendary mercenaries and assassins, but also Maseo, who was now a slave to the Oyabun. Katana had to fight them all and after a long battle that took its toll, Katana was able to reclaim the Soultaker and kill Takeo, and she could finally put an end to some of her ghosts. By undoing the ritual however, her husband returned into the sword as well.

At one point the Outsiders split from Batman's leadership and took up residence in Markovia where they were funded by the Markovian crown (Geo-Force is a prince of the royal family). They became the official agents of Markovia and moved to the city of Los Angeles where they made their headquarters in the Markovian embassy, while retaining another secret HQ just off the shore. Although Tatsu had left her past behind, the Oyabun returned in her life and sent a tengu after, with which he captured her. Her teammates in the Outsiders, namely Halo and Looker were able to save her using other tengu and the tengu leader, who aided them in battle.

After a while, the team disbanded after various tragic events surrounding Geo-Force's parents and Markovia. Nonetheless the Outsiders were forced to defend Markovia against the Manhunters, but during the fight Halo was knocked into a coma, saving Katana's life. Bounded by giri-ninjo (a debt of honor even unto death), Tatsu left the team so she could tend to Halo's wounds. During that time however, she was approached by a family member of her husband, who wished her to accompany the Suicide Squad on a mission to destroy a large horde of weapons that was about to be sold to the Yakuza. She declined on the basis of her giri-ninjo, although she was willing to help if the need was truly desperate.

That family member was later killed, and she went after the killer, the Daichi-Doku's Oyabun (of which her relative was a member), who did not wish to see the weapons destroyed and tried to stop the Suicide Squad. During that adventure, she saved the life of Bronze Tiger and Manhunter, making them honor-bound to her by giri-ninjo. Mark Shaw then assisted her in taking down the Daichi-Doku's Oyabun. The Oyabun committed ritual suicide and Katana stood by as his "second", ready to help with a blade strike so he could keep his honor.

Eventually though the Outsiders re-form and return to Markovia. Instead of a peaceful reunion however, the team become trapped in a web of public relations that brands them outlaws. Although the charges would be dropped eventually the team was fractured. Halo dies from an assassin's blast but was reborn in a new body, which put an immense strain on Tatsu's relationship with Halo.

Katana joins a team with Geo-Force and Technocrat, taking the lead. During a lone mission, Tadashi, her old mentor sends Lady Shiva to claim Katana's Soultaker sword. Shiva confronts Katana, who had been battling a gang of drug dealers. Katana had slain many, but refuses to kill the youngest member, something Shiva insults her for.

Shiva, being world-renowned as the world's greatest assassin and fighter, was able to kill Katana with her own sword. Katana returns to life after a trial by combat within her sword, which includes confronting many of the souls of the people she had killed. Afterwards, she manages to find her old mentor and take his life.

The two splinter teams would eventually reunite, to take on more supernatural threats focused around the new team member Faust. Katana and her friends suffer through the mental and physical tortures that Faust's father, Felix, puts them through. Halo eventually frees them by destroying several of Felix's items of power. Soon after, the group breaks apart. After disbanding, Tatsu has kept her association with her old allies among the Outsiders (such as Black Lightning, Geo-Force and Halo), and although they did not operate as an official team, were always seen alongside each other during major crises.

Her close ties to Batman also saw her fighting by his side, several times, notably during the Imperiex crisis and the Day of Judgment incident when hell invades Earth. The main battle against the villain, the rogue angel Asmodel, with the power of the Spectre, takes place in New York. Katana personally protects Madame Xanadu who is guarding the rest of Asmodel's power with a mystical shield. Katana's protection of Xanadu is assisted by Doctor Occult, Phantom Stranger and Alan Scott.

Later, Katana assists Batman when he and Superman were declared outlaws. Katana was also called upon by Black Canary, together with other female mercenaries, in order to rescue Oracle from Senator Pullman. After Oracle was saved, Katana received a card, together with the promise of a favor if required.

Most recently, she has joined a new team of Outsiders after assisting them in defeating a more powerful Sabbac. It consists of all new members, with the exception of Metamorpho who rejoined the team after Shift's demise. Later, Katana dons a new costume, as she felt it inappropriate to wear a costume based on Japan's flag. The country had revoked her citizenship due to her membership with the controversial team.

Later, Katana summons Sabbac to destroy Doctor Sivana's base with his Hellfire.

Katana remains an active member of the Outsiders following One Year Later. Initially, the team is led by Nightwing, but later leadership transfers to Batman. Batman decides to "test" Katana and the rest of the initial team, in order to design a better team. Katana is Batman's first official recruit.

When Batman disappeared without a trace, the Outsiders went looking for him all across Gotham. Katana and Geo-Force went to the GCPD Headquarters, where the Bat-Signal was lit. They asked Commissioner Gordon about Batman's location, but he knew as much as they did and instead, he prompted them to ask Nightwing, who was not in a very good mood.

Afterwards, an explosion took place at the Outsiders HQ, killing REMAC and leaving Thunder in a severe coma. After this events, the team disbanded and Katana left the group as well.

While escorting Killer Croc to incarceration, the Outsiders' vehicle is demolished by Maseo, Yuki, and Reiko, who have all been revived as Black Lanterns. Katana, believing that she has been reunited with her lost family, lets her guard down, but is saved from death by her teammates. Realizing the truth, she draws her sword, preparing to fight her undead husband. When Katana stabs Maseo, Soultaker reveals to her the Black Lanterns' full intentions. Her attacks soon prove to be completely ineffectual against Maseo, who is instead destroyed by an outpouring of light from Halo, who also destroyed Katana's children.

Some time later, Geo-Force became leader of the Outsiders and Katana followed him to Markovia, where he ruled as the prince. When word about a killing attempt against Geo-Force became known, Katana questioned thugs and low-lifes to learn the source of the threat. However, when Geo-Force joined the attempts to stop the violence on the streets, Katana followed him and witnessed how he was attacked by an unknown person. Katana followed the source of the attack and found the mysterious vigilante Insider and tried to stop him, without success. After the battle, Katana recovered and found the real killer. Moments later back at Castle Markov, Katana deduced that Insider was in fact Bruce Wayne and they discussed the future of the Outsiders together. Bruce left them to work in Markovia and told Katana to take care of the team.

The creature known as Kestrel was created by a spell by M'Shulla and Gorrum, the Lords of Chaos. It has no form of its own, and it most commonly possesses a human and interacts with the material world through its host.

It possessed an unknown man several years ago in an attempt to prevent the formation of a new Hawk and Dove team; it also attempted to bring Hawk to the side of Chaos in the upcoming mystical war. He fought both Hawk and Dove several times, on one occasion nearly killing Hawk; only the intervention of the new Dove stopped him. In the end, he failed and the mortal shell was destroyed by his creators.

Later, Kestrel possessed Ren Takamori (Hank Hall's girlfriend at the time) to lure Hawk and Dove to Druspa Tau, where Kestrel actually succeeded in having Hawk fight on the side of Chaos. However, Hawk eventually absorbed the Kestrel spell into himself, effectively destroying it.

The Teen Titans travelled to Kestrel's lair and managed to defeat Kestrel, with some help from a villain who had escaped Kestrel's brainwashing.

CONTACTS: Blue Devil, Zatara, Teen Titans

HISTORY:
Eddie Bloomberg had the good fortune of being a gopher in his Aunt Marla's film company. He met the Blue Devil on a film set, and became quite a fan of the hero, dreaming about one day becoming Devil's sidekick.

Edward snuck into Blue Devil's workshop at night and, using his prodigious knowledge of electronics, created a battle suit incorporating the designs of the Blue Devil suit. Even though Blue Devil didn't want a sidekick, Eddie was determined to make a go at being a hero. As Kid Devil he assisted his hero in foiling an airplane hijacking, and later helped defeat one of his enemies, the Vanquisher. After these adventures, his parents left Eddie's education and supervision to professors at the Institute of Hypernormal Conflict Studies.

After Blue Devil's deal with the demon Neron resulted in Eddie's Aunt Marla dying in a helicopter crash, Eddie attempted to live up to her name and succeed in the movie business. His attempts failed, however, and Eddie continued to have adventures as Kid Devil, even helping Young Justice's assault on Zandia.

Since the events in Infinite Crisis, Eddie has tried to join the Teen Titans with little success. Pulsar helps Eddie into a project Lex Luthor has been using to give normal humans superpowers. However, Eddie fails because of "psychological problems." One evening, Eddie is visited by a cloaked figure who gives him a candle. Eddie's then friend Zachary Zatara tells him that the candle has some magical properties. Eddie decides to light it, and the two are taken to Neron. Neron makes a deal with Eddie, transforming him into a new Kid Devil. Neron's magic gives Eddie a new, demonic appearance and inherent superpowers. As part of the deal, Eddie won't lose his soul to Neron if he can still trust Blue Devil by his 20th birthday. Before Eddie leaves, Neron tells him that it is Blue Devil's fault his Aunt died. Zachary helps Eddie join the Teen Titans, they battle Kid Crusader and Zachary promises to keep his secret.

One Year Later, a rift has formed between Eddie and Zachary. Though Eddie is still friendly with Zachary, the boy magician wants nothing to do with Eddie or any of the other Titans. Eddie also forges a bond with Rose Wilson, as both new members feel like third string Titans. For many months, Eddie tells the Titans of multiple daily phone calls to Blue Devil as his way of confirming that "everything is fine".

On a Titans mission, Eddie is disemboweled by Plasmus and the EMTs are unable to help him. The new Doom Patrol arrives and take Kid Devil to their HQ for treatment, where the Chief heals Eddie, while also attempting to manipulate him into joining the Doom Patrol (as he has done to the other DP members). During the operation, the Chief revealed to Elasti-Girl that Kid Devil isn't truly a demon by nature, but rather his powers are the result of metahuman gene manipulation. Robin confronts Eddie about his relationship with the Blue Devil, who claims not to have heard from Eddie for two years. Eddie confesses he was only pretending, in order to better fit in with the Titans. The Chief's manipulation is stopped by both the Titans and the other members of the Doom Patrol, which makes Eddie feel as if he is finally accepted as a Titan since they stood up for him. He also tries rekindling his bond with Blue Devil, but the man does not show up to a meeting Eddie invited him to. Later, Eddie finally finds and confronts Blue Devil. Blue admits lying to Eddie about his aunt's death. As part of a deal for gaining fame and fortune, Blue Devil was tasked by Neron to destroy an unmanned power plant. Despite Blue Devil's various precautions, a resulting power surge accidentally killed Marla, who was scouting the nearby area for a film. Eddie storms off before Blue can explain further, telling Blue to stay far away from him. Now having lost his trust in Blue Devil, Eddie knows that he will lose his soul to Neron. Still, Eddie decides to make the best of his remaining years by having a good time with his friends. He comforts himself by saying at least he has Marla's memory and Neron can't take that away from him. However, it is revealed that Neron is holding Marla's soul captive.

Kid Devil is attacked by Kid Crusader who vows to "save" him from Neron by turning Eddie back into a human and killing him. The Crusader appears to succeed, when he exorcises the demon from Eddie and returns him to his human form, but the demon is then bound to Kid Crusader himself. When given the choice later to either return to his demonic form or stay human, Eddie chooses his demonic form, not wishing to damn anyone else (even his enemy) to his fate as Neron's protege.

Later as possible future versions of the current Titans team- arrive in the present to aid the Teen Titans against Starro-controlled villains. Kid Devil is shown as part of the team, now known as Red Devil. He claims that even though the loss of his soul to Neron at 20 was bad, the power he receives far outweighs the consequences. Eddie initially watches as Ravager battles alone against Rampage & Livewire , before betraying his older self in order to aid Rose. Later, Rose, Red Devil and Eddie return to the Titan's Lair (home of the original Teen Titans), where they meet with Blue Beetle. There Eddie learns that he is supposedly destined to murder the Blue Beetle some point in the future.

Shortly after Eddie, Rose and Jaime find themselves surrounded by an Army of Titans led by Lex Luthor, before they all battle against an invading army of Starros. Thanks in large part to Blue Beetle's powers and Robin and Wonder Girl managing to supposedly alter Robin's future (and thus alter the future of the Titans as a whole), the Army of Titans is supposedly defeated. However, prior to his vanishing, Red Devil warns Eddie against trusting Ravager and Blue Beetle.

A Group of supervillains under the leadership of the new Clock King began a systematic assault on the Titans. With Wonder Girl, Blue Beetle, Ravager and Robin away, Miss Martian still reeling from the battle with her future counter-part, Eddie decides to throw a party in Titans Tower and invites several titans fans. The party quickly gets out of hand when the guests trash the place, go through personal items and prank calls Batman. Lectured by all members of the team, Eddie goes into town with one of the guests, who reveals himself to be Dreadbolt, son of Bolt. A fight ensues and the arrival of the rest of the Terror Titans puts a quick end to the battle. Kid Devil is next shown chained to a wall and severely injured and held captive by the Clock King who continues to torture Eddie by telling him that Rose Wilson couldn't care less about his status. Clock King then encourages Eddie to accept his place as a monster. Whe Miss Martian is captured by the villains, she is placed into a room with Eddie, who has become savage and bestial as a result of his beatings. After a brief battle, Eddie and M'Gann are placed in a cell, and Eddie is later brought out to face Hardrock to the death.

Later Eddie was finally freed and helped his friends combat against the Terror Titans. Since then he has become more comfortable on the team has begun to develop a good relationship with Blue Beetle and even changed his name to Red Devil.

HISTORY:
Bart Allen is a teenage speedster and a member of the Flash Family who has gone by several code names. He was born in the 30th Century, the grandson of time-traveling speedster the Flash, although he returned to the past to continue his family's legacy. Because of his strange origins, he ages at an inconsistent rate. Originally, he took the name Impulse to reflect his impulsive nature, but later changed his alias to Kid Flash when he grew older. There was a brief period when he became The Flash after Infinite Crisis, but he was killed by the Rogues during Full Throttle. Later on, he was resurrected during Final Crisis through his connection to the Speed Force and has returned to his role as Kid Flash since then. Bart Allen has been a member of the New Titans, Young Justice, the Teen Titans, and the Legion of Super-Heroes.

Bart Allen was the product of the union between two families who had been bitter rivals for centuries. His father, Don Allen, was the son of Barry Allen, the second Flash, and his mother was Meloni Thawne, daughter of the Earthgov president and descendant of Flash villains Cobalt Blue and Professor Zoom.

Shortly after Bart's birth, his family was attacked by Zoom, wishing to end the union of the rival families. They, along with the family of Don's sister Dawn, attempted to flee to a parallel Earth using the Cosmic Treadmill. However, Zoom sabotaged the device, causing an explosion which created a rift in the multiverse. Zoom was ultimately defeated by an army of three different Legions of Super-Heroes, but Bart and his family were subsequently stranded on Earth-247.

Bart was born with his grandfather's speed. He had an incredibly high metabolism and also aged at hyperspeed. When he was chronologically two years old, physically, he appeared twelve years old. President Thawne had the Dominators killed Don and his twin sister, Dawn Allen. The Dominators then abducted Bart, who was later captured by Earthgov for observation. The scientists of Earthgov raised him in a virtual reality environment so that he aged as swiftly mentally as he did physically. Bart was going to die of old age very quickly, with Earthgov not doing anything to fix his problem. His grandmother Iris West took him away and brought him back to the twentieth century, so that her nephew, Wally West, the third Flash, could show him how to control his speed.
He later adopted the superheroic identity of Impulse.

After Wally helped him solve his problem and Bart helped him to defeat Kobra, Bart moved to Manchester, Alabama with Max Mercury. Wally had used his connections to supply Bart with a birth certificate, etc. Bart began the ninth grade at Manchester Junior High. He managed to make quite a few friends, chief among them Carol Bucklen. Max continued to train him in the art of superspeed, having him run obstacle courses while dodging axes and knives, solve jigsaw puzzles in mid-air, etc. During this time, he became one of the founding members of Young Justice.

Following Max's disappearance, he was taken in by Jay Garrick, the first Flash, and his wife Joan Garrick.

Following the breakup of Young Justice, Bart joined the new Teen Titans. He soon had his kneecap blown out by Deathstroke (who was at the time possessed by Jericho) and replaced with an artificial one. While recovering, Bart read every single book in the San Francisco Public Library and reinvented himself as the new Kid Flash. Even with the artificial kneecap, he could still run close to light speed. After Superboy-Prime attacked Superboy (Conner Kent) in Smallville injuring and killing many Titans, Bart joined with Wally West and Jay Garrick to stop the rampage of Superboy-Prime by running him at top speed into the Speed Force. Jay reached his limit before entering the Speed Force and Wally turned into energy and vanished, leaving Bart alone with Superboy-Prime. Barry Allen, Johnny Quick and Max Mercury, all of whom had previously been absorbed into the Speed Force, appeared and aided Bart. After taking Superboy-Prime into the Speed Force, Barry told Bart that "Wally is waiting for you". After they disappeared, Jay claimed that the Speed Force was gone.

A speedster wearing Barry's costume returned in Tokyo shortly thereafter to warn of the return of Superboy-Prime. This same Flash, still wearing Barry Allen's costume, would appear in the middle of the Battle of Metropolis against the army of escaped super villains. Superboy-Prime reveals that the person in the Flash costume is Bart Allen, aged 4 years older. Bart explains to the nearby Wonder Girl (who was surprised by her fellow Titan's transformation) that his grandfather's uniform was the only thing that could survive the trip back from where he had been, and that he was the only one there "who could still run". Bart then unleashed his anger against Superboy-Prime for killing Conner Kent, pummeling him at superspeed and forcing Superboy-Prime to retreat from the battle. When the crisis was over, Bart explained to Jay that he spent years in an unknown dimension where time passed quicker, causing him to grow older. Bart confirmed that the Speed Force was destroyed and he used up the residual speed locked in his body fighting in Metropolis. He gave Barry's costume to Jay and says Jay was now the fastest man alive once again.

Bart shunned his superheroic past for the next year. He received a job working at Keystone Motors and began sharing an apartment with another young man named Griffin Grey. However, he was still connected to the Speed Force, but the connection threatened to kill him. S.T.A.R. Labs modified one of his grandfather's old costumes to help him control his connection. While at first he refused to don the costume, he finally gave in and became the fourth Flash. He also began a relationship with S.T.A.R. Labs employee Valerie Perez.

Bart decided to get a fresh start and moved to Los Angeles, applying for a job in forensics with their police department.

Inertia hired the Rogues to help him build a device in Los Angeles with the purpose of transferring the Speed Force from Bart to himself. Despite warnings from his grandmother, Bart confronted them.

The machine was successful in removing his powers, but in doing so, it threatened to detonate with the energy of several atomic bombs. Bart sacrificed himself heroically, distracting the Rogues while Val deactivated the machine.

A funeral was held for Bart in a stadium in Keystone City. It was attended by a large number of costumed heroes, including his former Teen Titans teammates Robin, Wonder Girl, Raven and Beast Boy, and televised around the world. Eulogies were given by Jay Garrick, who revealed Bart's secret identity to the world. The funeral ended with the presentation of a video he had recorded shortly after becoming Kid Flash, to be shown in the event of his death.

During Final Crisis: Legion of 3 Worlds, XS charged a lightning rod with the assistance of different versions of Garth and Ayla Ranzz in order to restore Bart to life. Bart returned as a teenager again and he received his Kid Flash costume ring from Brainiac 5.

Rebirth is the recent comic The Flash: Rebirth, which features the return of Barry Allen, the Silver Age Scarlet Speedster and Bart's grandfather. At Titans Tower West, a newly returned Bart Allen views his grandfather's return with skepticism, admitting a desire for things to "go back to the way it used to be" with Wally as the primary Flash and himself as Kid Flash, as well as feeling angry that Barry is the only one to escape the Speed Force and not Max Mercury. Bart, along with Superboy, is resurrected, but Death hunts them down to reclaim their lives. Bart then asks Barry why Max was unable to come back during when the JLA were trying to de-contaminate him of Zoom's Speed Force. Bart and Jay are then attacked by Zoom, who attacks Bart first because of him being both a Thawne and an Allen.

He and Wally are present when Barry brings back Max Mercury from the Speed Force, (Barry is unable to bring back Johnny Quick, as he had already been "killed" by Professor Zoom's Negative Speed Force) and is overjoyed to see his old mentor again.

Bart, Barry, Wally, Max, Jay, Jesse Quick, and Iris West II (now taking up Bart's mantle as Impulse) and the Justice Society and the Justice League participate in Barry's plan to strip Zoom of his connection to his Speed Force, a plan that succeeds.

With Bart and Conner Kent's return, both of their statues were removed from the Titans Tower "Hall of Fallen Titans" memorial. However, Nekron, the personification of Death, sought reclaim their lives during the Blackest Night crossover. Bart, along with Wally, raced across the globe to warn every hero of the Black Lantern Corps' invasion. Bart later arrived at Coast City with Wally and scattered members of the Justice League and Teen Titans to take a stand against Nekron, who was responsible for the Black Lanterns. Despite being resurrected, Bart's previous status as a deceased still allowed one of the undead lord's black rings to transform him into a Black Lantern.

After his grandfather is chosen as a Blue Lantern by Ganthet of the Guardians of the Universe and leader of the Blue Lantern Corps, Bart immediately engages battle with him. Barry's blue power ring detects that Bart is still alive but he would eventually die if not freed from the black ring soon. Barry nearly releases Bart from the black ring using blue energy constructs crafted in the images of Bart as Impulse and Kid Flash, before being interfered by Black Lantern versions of Professor Zoom and Solovar. Wally and Blue Lantern Bro'Dee Walker join Barry against them. Bart attempts to use his speed powers to kill Wally, only to be temporarily returned to normal. Realizing that their mutual connection to the Speed Force can save Bart, Barry uses his powers to break the ring's connection, freeing him.

Sometime after Blackest Night, Bart and Conner were recruited by Cyborg to help rescue a current Titan by the name of Static, who had been kidnapped while visiting his hometown of Dakota. The three heroes arrive at the scene of a battle between the Teen Titans and a superhuman gangster named Holocaust, and intervene just as he is about to finish off the their comrades. Bart and Conner then comment that it is time for them to come out of "retirement" and rejoin the Teen Titans. Holocaust simply laughs and tells them to bring it, and Bart responds by saying "We were hoping you'd say that". After a lengthy battle, Bart deals the finishing blow to the villain by running around him fast enough to open a vacuum which sucks him into the Earth's inner core.

At the behest of Tim Drake, Bart travels to Gotham City and saves Selina Kyle from members of the League of Assassins while she is sleeping in her apartment. After knocking out the would-be killers, Bart remarks to Tim over the radio that Selina is "super-fine", and that this may be the best day of his life.

CONTACTS: Titans, Team Titans, Prestor John

HISTORY:
The origin of Killowat starts 10 years into the future. In this timeline the villain known as Lord Chaos reigns the world with tyranny. Battalion is the second in command of a team named " Team Titans". This Titans were created to defeat Lord Chaos and restore the peace and freedom of the world. This timeline was proven false.

Charlie Watkins was once a young man who desired to join the Force Elite of Lord Chaos more than anything in the world. A reason behind this was that Charlie Watkins considered Lord Chaos a divine being and that serving him would be the greatest honor someone could have. Thanks to a lot of training he would become part of the Force Elite of Lord Chaos making his dream come true.

However Charlie's point of view about Lord Chaos would quickly start to change when he started to realize the true nature of Lord Chaos. Charlie decided to betray his master by approaching the clandestine group known as the Team Titans to offer them the possibility to use him as a double agent against Lord Chaos.

And for the next few months Charlie would serve as the spy for the Team Titans until one dark day. when it was discovered that Charlie had been working as a double agent against Lord Chaos. Falling into one of the energy converters, Charlie should have died. Instead, he was transformed him into a being that could control and create electricity.

The transformation made Charlie Watkins become the superhero that would be known as Killowat. It was also that day that the member of the Team Titans known as Silver Shield died, leaving an empty slot in the team. Killowat would ask membership into the team to fill that space in the Silver Shield's honor.

One day the leader of the Team Titans decided to make one risky and dangerous mission; to travel 10 years into the past and kill Donna Troy in an attempt to prevent her son, the future Lord Chaos from being born. The first part of the mission was successful and the Team Titans were able to go back to the past before Donna Troy gave birth to Robert Long.

However, when the Team Titans tried to kill Donna Troy; they encountered the current day team of Titans and were forced into combat against them. However before the Team Titans could kill Donna Troy; she gave birth to her son but both the present and future Titans were able to both stop the future of Lord Chaos from coming about and preventing the death of Donna Troy.

After the mission was accomplished the Team Titans were trapped into the past, with no way to return home. Without any options they decided that they would stay on that era until they could find a way to go back. In an ironic twist they accepted the offer of Donna Troy to live in her farmhouse in New Jersey. After that they decided to investigate this timeline and find where they belonged in it.

Killowat started to investigate anything that could help him to find out about his presence in this timeline or from his family. He found his aunt and uncle, however something didn't fit, because the two of them were African-American while Charlie Watkins was white. This made Killowat wonder about his origin ten years into the future.

Time passed and Killowat fell in love with Mirage who was in love with Deathwing. This made Kilowat's already troubled life even more dificult.

Soon after this the crisis of time known as Zero Hour started, changing the Team Titans in a way that no one could have foreseen.

In this time crisis was revealed that the real leader of the Team Titans was the being known as Monarch (Previously known as Hawk). The Team Titans were actually being that were from a false future created by Monarch, who wanted to have sleeper agents that would serve him as assassins in order to help him to rule the entire timeline. That future also had another purpose. It would help Monach to train young metahumans and have a bigger and more powerful army against the heroes of all generations.

Monarch (now as Extant) absorbed the power of Waverider and used it to take advantage of the incoming time crisis. Using the army that he created, along with the Team Titans, he attacked the world's heroes who wanted to stop the time crisis.

However the plan of Extant was unsuccessful and the Team Titans were defeated by the Earth's heroes. At the same moment, time started to collapse. This made all the parallel and false timelines erased from existence. As another result the Team Titans were erased from history and disappeared. The only three Team Titans members that weren't eased were Terra II, Mirage, and Deathwing because it was revealed that they were from the present timeline and that Extant had taken them from there, erasing their memories to make them part of his army. Killowat didn't have the same luck and suffered the same fate as the other members; erased from history, no one would remember him because he never truly existed.

It hasn't been stated if a Killowat from the present will appear in the DCU, and only time will tell.

- From the Wiki: Korath-Thak is an agent of the Kree Empire. He was a cyber-geneticist, and the founder and head of the Pursuer Project to develop cybernetic warriors for the Kree militia. When the Pursuer Project was discontinued, Korath was reassigned as a munitions manufacturing plant foreman. Seeking to prove the validity of his work, Korath-Thak re-engineered the tech at the plant to imprint the Pursuer template on himself, becoming Korath the Pursuer.

Korath used cyber-genetic technology of his own design to gain superhuman powers during the Kree/Shi'ar War. He then met Shatterax, Ultimus, and Supremor. He witnessed a battle between an Avengers force, and was defeated by the Scarlet Witch and Astra. Alongside the Kree Starforce, he arrived in the Shi'ar Empire to assassinate Lilandra. He battled another contingent of Avengers and the Shi'ar Imperial Guard. He returned to Hala alongside Lilandra, Starforce, and the Imperial Guard after the detonation of the nega-bomb to help the Kree rebuild under Shi'ar rule. Alongside the Shi'ar Starforce and Deathbird, Korath attacked Quasar, Her, and Makkari on Hala for violating Shi'ar airspace.

Admiral Galen-Kor and his criminal forces battled Deathbird and Starforce. Korath and Starforce alongside the Underground Legion, battled Lord Tantalus.

When the Kree regained control of the empire, Korath and the Starforce were branded as collaborators with the Shi'ar occupying force and despised by the popular. Korath wound up settling on the planet of Godthab Omega.

Korath was apparently assimilated into The Phalanx and became one of their Phalanx Select. He fought Quasar, Moondragon, and Adam Warlock, and was killed by Ultron when he failed to capture Adam Warlock.

HISTORY:
Millions of years ago, the Celestials visited the planet Skrullos, the home of the Skrull and through genetic experimentation on primitive Skrull they created three different races from the dominant Skrull life forms. The first was the Deviants that possessed shape-shifting abilities. The second race was a group of near-immortals with cosmic powers known as the Eternals. The third race or Normal Skrulls had no powers but did have the possibility for benevolent genetic mutations, much like their human counterparts. The Deviant race believed them to be superior to the other and used their shape-shifting abilities to wipe out the others leaving themselves the sole surviving race.

According to the ancient Book of Worlds, Kly'bn was the last of the Skrull Eternals. Before the Deviant Skrulls could kill him Kly'bn persuaded their leader Queen Sl'gur't that to kill him would be to kill themselves. Kly’bn stated that he was the embodiment of what it meant to be a Skrull. Constant and unchanging and it was his destiny to lead the Skrulls into transforming other worlds with their truth. Queen Sl'gur't embraced his ides and pledged herself to him.

This truth and revelation supposedly transformed the two of them into gods where they ascended to a heavenly dimension. For millions of years the couple had been worshiped by Skrulls and became the leaders of the Skrull Pantheon of gods.

The Book of World Skrull holy text was said to have been written by the couple. The book included in it three prophesies that foretold the eventual destruction of Skrullos and the promise of a new home called Earth. These prophesies were the main reason the Skrulls turned the invasion of Earth into a holy war. They believed it rightfully theirs during the event that became to be known as the "Secret Invasion".

If the planet Earth was conquered by the Skrulls in the name of their gods it would cause a cosmic shift leading to the destruction of Earth's native gods. The Olympian called Athena put together a team of Earth based gods known as the God Squad to find Kly'bn and kill him; this would stop his follower’s faith and hopefully prevent the invasion.

When the God Squad arrived in their fortress, Kly'bn and Sl'gur't were forced into a confrontation. After being eaten by Demogorge, Sl'gur't caused the god-eater to explode, seemingly killing him because she represented too many different gods for him to digest at once. She then turned her attention to shape-shifting Japanese god Mikaboshi and began a shape-changing battle, each copying the other until, seemingly, she was victorious, ripping Mikaboshi in half.

During the fight Klyn'bn battled the hero Hercules, whilst it was one of Hercules toughest battles Hercules eventually came out on top with the help of the Alpha Flight member Snowbird. She impaled Kly'bn through the back with the bone of an Elder God, Demogorge's spine, killing him, causing the temple the Skrull gods resided in to collapse.

As the remaining members of the God Squad (Ajak having been killed early on by Kly'bn) fled the collapsing temple, it was revealed that Mikaboshi, in Sl'gur't's form, had killed Sl'gur't in Mikaboshi's form, allowing the Japanese god to take the place of the dead Skrull gods. This resulted in one of the major setback for the Skrull's invasion of Earth.

He later reappeared as a dead god during the Chaos War.

- So I finally gave Kate a code name. She's needed one forever.

- From the Wiki: Kate Bishop grew up as the youngest daughter of a rich Manhattanite family. Although her father Derek was an emotionally distant publishing magnate, Kate admired him, and tried to gain his attention and approval during her summer breaks from boarding school. Her mother Eleanor was estranged from her father and frequently absent on vacations until she died while on trip in Boulder, Colorado when Kate was still young. Kate has an older sister, Susan. They have a friendly but somewhat tense relationship, because Susan doesn't understand or share Kate's focus on helping others. From an early age, Kate was frequently lonely and became determined to rely only on herself. She developed a very independent, blunt, and stubborn personality.

When she was still little, Kate secretly witnessed her father beating up another person late at night in his study. She quickly became disillusioned with Derek, and decided to further investigate his activities. She followed him to a meet-up with El Matador, and accidentally got herself caught briefly after Derek had left the location.

El Matador held her to ransom, but Kate managed to attempt an escape. When one of Matador's men was about to catch her, an arrow flew past him, distracting him and saving Kate. The Avengers had arrived to the scene, after the archer Hawkeye had kept an eye on el Matador for some time, and they defeated the villains. Kate was impressed by the Avengers, but specially Hawkeye, for being a regular human with no powers but only skill. With the recent disillusion from her father, Kate turned Hawkeye into her role model.

Kate also felt uncomfortable with her family's wealth and began trying to emulate her mother by spending time at soup kitchens and women's shelters.

At some point prior to her sister's wedding, Kate was sexually assaulted while walking in Central Park. The event initially left Kate traumatized and even more isolated. However, the ordeal eventually motivated her to learn several forms of combat fighting and self-defense. She quickly became proficient in swordplay, archery, and martial arts. She also met with a therapist during this time to work through some of her issues.

Kate first encountered the Young Avengers when they attempted to save her and two hundred other guests at her sister's wedding in St. Patrick's Cathedral. Unfortunately, the Young Avengers were only successful in starting a fire and becoming hostages themselves. It was Kate that saved them using one of Patriot's throwing stars. The Young Avengers were able, however, to escape the scene before the police arrived.

Kate Bishop using Mockingbird's Battle Staves and mask, Swordman's Sword, Black Widow's utility belt, and Hawkeye's Bow
After the attack, at the hospital, Kate was approached by Cassie Lang, daughter of the Avengers' Ant-Man. Together the girls tracked down the Young Avengers to the ruins of the Avengers Mansion, where the girls confronted the team and invited themselves on as members. Not long afterwards, the Mansion was attacked by Kang the Conqueror. To join the battle, Kate donned gear from the Mansion including Mockingbird's Battle Staves and mask, Swordsman's Sword, Black Widow's utility belt, and Hawkeye's bow. After defeating Kang and saving the world, Kate and Cassie remained on as permanent members.

Captain America and Iron Man ordered the team to disband and refused to train them. However, Kate used some of her family's money and connections to procure a new lair, as well as costumes and weapons for the team. With Iron Lad gone, Patriot and Kate took on the unofficial roles of co-leaders. She and Patriot even shared some chemistry and competitiveness.

Her friendship with Patriot was severely strained when she and the rest of the team learned Patriot was taking Mutant Growth Hormone to simulate Super Soldier Serum powers. After Patriot was injured, Kate blamed Captain America for not training them properly. Later Jessica Jones returned to give Kate the original Hawkeye's bow and arrows with a note from Captain America addressed to "Hawkeye." Jessica told Kate that the only other person to stand up to Captain America the way Kate did was Clint Barton, and that Captain America wanted her to take Clint's codename. Kate did and officially became the new Hawkeye.

Along with the rest of his team, Hawkeye sided with Captain America and the Secret Avengers against the Superhuman Registration Act, which led to the Superhero Civil War.

Kate also unwittingly berates a resurrected Clint for donning the Captain America uniform and bearing the Captain America's Shield. She stated that she took on the codename "Hawkeye" to honor the original Hawkeye, and not to mimic him or disgrace his memory. It was her words that convinced Clint to condemn Stark for his behavior, and go his own path.

Not long after this initial encounter, Kate and Clint met again. During an awkward date with Eli in Central Park, Kate was attacked by Clint in the guise of Ronin. Clint and Kate meet a few more times over the next few days, culminating in Clint (in his own unique way) officially passing on his bow and mantle to Kate.

When the Skrulls invaded Earth, Hawkeye joined the other Young Avengers and Runaways on the frontlines of the battle.

Hawkeye, along with the other Young Avengers, helped rescue the fallen from Asgard during the Siege. She and Patriot were briefly trapped under some rumble together, leading to an argument and a kiss.

After Wiccan powers overloaded and the Avengers decided to keep him under observation, Hulkling and the other Young Avengers broke Wiccan out of holding and began the search for the Scarlet Witch. Accompanied by Magneto and Quicksilver, the team traveled to Transia and then to Latveria before discovering a depowered and amnesiac Wanda engaged to Doctor Doom. The rediscovery of Wanda did not go unnoticed though, as the Avengers soon arrived on the scene. A battle with Doom's Doombot army soon broken out and was only stopped by the arrival of Iron Lad.

Iron Lad teleported the Young Avengers and Wanda into the timestream. They all went into the past, and met the reanimated Jack of Hearts, who then explode. After that Wanda remembered who she was, regained her powers and returned herself, the Young Avengers and Scott Lang into the present. She then finally confirmed that Billy and Tommy are indeed her reincarnated sons.[6]
Wanda's increased powers were revealed to be the result of her gaining a connection to the life force itself. A ritual intended to undo the Decimation was interrupted by Patriot, leading to the powers being transferred to Doctor Doom. He intended to usher the world into utopia, a utopia in which he would rule. The Avengers and X-Men teamed up to defeat him; in the process, Stature was killed by Doom, and the villain escaped after losing his powers when they overloaded.

Iron Lad proposed to save Stature through the timestream but Vision refused, ending with both of them battling each other and Iron Lad destroying Vision and then taking off to the timestream, even after Wiccan warned that this was the moment in time where he became Kang the Conqueror.

In the aftermath of the battles, the Young Avengers disbanded and kept a low profile during the major events that transpired in the world (the Spider-Island infestation, the X-Men's Schism, and the resurrection of the Human Torch). Kate was called in by Ms. Marvel to the Avengers Mansion. After a few words from Captain America, all the remaining Young Avengers were officially named as full-fledged Avengers. Kate remained in close contact with Billy and Teddy.

Kate was recruited as a partner of Clint Barton, the original Hawkeye, in his street-level crime-fighting in Brooklyn. Together, they took down a troupe of nefarious circus performers.

Later, Kate helped Clint track down and rescue a girl who had been kidnapped. Before long, Kate had to drive their getaway car as they were pursued by angry mafia members. Kate saved herself, Clint, and the girl in the ultimate standoff against the mafia boss.

After Clint was kidnapped by Madame Masque in Madripoor, Kate saved him by disguising herself as him and helping steal a tape that had evidence on it of Clint killing Du Ke Feng, before being discovered and breaking them both out, with help from Maria Hill. The tape was destroyed in the conflict, but Clint revealed that it was actually fake and he was innocent.

Clint gave Kate his bow because he was being threatened by the mafia that if he did not leave his apartment building, they would kill all his neighbors. Kate gave him his bow back and convinced him not to run away from his problems.

The morning after a one night stand with Noh-Varr, Kate realized that she was on his ship in space. Then, they were forced into super heroics together when some Skrulls attacked them. Kate sent Billy Kaplan several distress texts, but after she and Noh-Varr had dealt with the Skrulls, she realized that he must have been in trouble since he usually answered her texts within seconds. Kate and Noh-Varr used Kree tech to track Billy's cell phone, and found Billy, Teddy Altman, Loki, and America Chavez being held captive by a mysterious foe that was impersonating their parents. Noh-Varr loaded everyone onto his ship and they made a hasty exit, still pursued by the nefarious parents.

As the parents attacked again, Hawkeye borrowed a Kree Composite Soul Bow from Noh-Varr to fight them off, although he mocked her, calling it old-fashioned. The Young Avengers quickly tried to brainstorm and come up with a plan. Loki's best ideas were to either kill Wiccan, or make him lend him his powers for a time, as he reasoned that since his powers had created the parents, his powers must stop them. Wiccan conceded and lent Loki his powers for ten minutes. Loki cast a spell that allowed them to banish the parents indefinitely, and the group once again departed on Noh-Varr's ship. They regrouped and determined that they wouldn't be able to reach out to any adults to help them with their situation because the nature of the interdimensional parasite that had created the parental constructs was such that adults were not able to understand what was going on, and being near their parents or where their parents had died only put them in more danger from the parasite, Mother.

Together, the Young Avengers went on many adventures in space. At some point, they ran into Prodigy in a dinner, who informed them that there was some sort of phantom impersonating Hawkeye, Wiccan, and Hulkling's old teammate Patriot, who had kidnapped their other old teammate, and Wiccan's sort-of twin, Speed. They proceeded to chase him through the multiverse, utilizing Miss America's ability to create interdimensional portals. Hawkeye despised their journey, as it was often rough, exhausting, and dangerous, but sometimes she loved it, as she got to spend time with her friends in fantastic situations.

When they finally caught up to the Patriot phantom, they also found Mother waiting for them. Loki immediately told Miss America to get them out of there, so she created a portal, but Hulkling and Prodigy didn't get through in time and were left trapped in Mother's home dimension. The Young Avengers stopped to figure out a plan to rescue them, and soon returned to Mother's dimension, this time accompanied by many versions of themselves from many different realities, attempting to cause Mother to be overwhelmed. Miss America created another portal to get them all out, and they all escaped. Hawkeye and Noh-Varr bickered because of a comment he made about the time they had spent in a dimension populated by versions of one of his ex-girlfriends, Oubliette Midas. Prodigy realized that there was no reason for them to keep chasing the Patriot phantom, as he was just teasing them and they were never going to be able to catch up. The Young Avengers decided to take a break for a while while Loki taught Wiccan enough magic that he would be more able to take on Mother.

Loki discovered that Hulkling had been once again kidnapped by Mother. In preparation for a fight against her, Loki convinced Wiccan to give him his adult body back. Loki also convinced Wiccan that the only way they could defeat Mother was if he took his ultimate form as the Demiurge. Prodigy recruited a group of other young heroes to assist them in their fight. Hawkeye and Noh-Varr prepared to fight and then the assembled heroes fought off an invasion of evil versions of the Young Avengers sent by Mother, while the Young Avengers fought Mother in her home dimension, trying to save Hulkling. During the fight, Noh-Varr told Hawkeye that if he had another chance to be with Oubliette he would take it, because even though he liked Kate a lot, she was the girl of his dreams. Hawkeye told him she couldn't respect that. The Young Avengers freed Hulkling, and Hulkling helped Wiccan go full Demiurge, banishing Mother forever.

The Young Avengers held a New Years Eve afterparty, inviting all the young heroes who had helped them fight. Kate wore a purple dress and earrings that her father had given her, and accompanied America to the party. At the party, Kate and Noh-Varr officially broke up. Kate then danced with Tommy and kissed him at midnight. The Young Avengers together welcomed the New Year with breakfast.

Kate was at an engagement party when Superstorm Sandy hit the New York area. Kate took it upon herself to protect and assist her fellow partygoers, including going out after the storm to find medicine for an elderly lady, stopping a robbery in the process.

At one of her father's fancy parties, Kate had a flirtatious encounter with a mysterious man, not knowing that he was a contract killer sent to kill Clint. After the contract killer murdered their friend Grills, Kate and Clint attended the funeral. Kate attempted to tell Clint how important their partnership was to her, but he was asleep and did not hear it.

When Clint continued to spiral downwards after Grills' death, Kate became frustrated with his immature choices and unwillingness to accept help. Needing some space, she left New York and went to Los Angeles, taking Clint's dog, Lucky, with her. When she first arrived there she attempted to check into a hotel, only to learn her father had cut her off. In an attempt to make some money, she advertised herself as a hero for hire ("Half super hero / Half private eye"), and began to investigate cases.

Kate got caught in the middle of a vengeance ploy by Madame Masque, who pinned the murder of one of Kate's new friends Harold H. Harold on her and burned her place down. Bishop started an investigation that led her to Madame Masque's illegal operations in L.A. which consisted in using LMD technology to extend the life span of the very rich. Kate infiltrated Masque's mansion to recover information to incriminate her, leading to her arrest by S.H.I.E.L.D. and the shutdown of her business. In the process of investigating Madame Masque, Kate discovered that one of her clients was her own father, Derek Bishop.

Kate subsequently returned to New York, and reunited with Clint just in time to help prevent his murder and save the inhabitants of his building.

Kate walked into Clint's apartment after he had finished fighting with Deadpool to find them both sitting on the floor mildly injured. She smashed Deadpool over the head with a lamp, thinking he had beaten up Clint (which he had). Clint told Deadpool to leave, but he wouldn't. Kate said she was only going to stay until her ride got there, and Clint and Deadpool explained that a hacker who had stolen personnel files from S.H.I.E.L.D. had come to them trying to buy his safety with information. They explained their plan to recover the files and find the identity of a false Punisher who had attacked them earlier. After Clint and Deadpool left for the morgue, Kate watched the video that the hacker left and figured out where his apartment was. She entered the apartment only to find Agent Adsit already on the scene, as Deadpool had called him earlier.

Deadpool and the Hawkeyes attended a S.H.I.E.L.D. meeting and told them what they knew. They agreed to team up to recover the files. The trio went undercover and were immediately attacked by Typhoid Mary and Black Cat. The fight ended when Mary set a bus on fire and then she and Black Cat fled the scene. Deadpool and the Hawkeyes returned to Deadpool's safe-house to play video games before returning to the Ellsden's apartment to try to find his cat. They broke into his neighbor's apartment when she refused to give up the cat. After petting the cat, Deadpool realized that it wasn't necessary to take it, just its collar that had a thumb drive attached to it.

After the recovery of the drive, Clint revealed that he had been brainwashed by a evil scientist controlled by Black Cat, and attacked Deadpool and Kate, taking the drive.[54] Together, Kate and Deadpool chased him down. They realized that he was programmed to kill himself if cornered, so they determined that he was going to Black Cat's hideout and decided to address the situation directly. Deadpool told Kate that she had to take out the nearby electrical substation to cut power to the building and prevent Black Cat from uploading any files. This also turned off Clint's brainwashing. The three of them apprehended Typhoid Mary and enabled Black Cat to be captured by S.H.I.E.L.D., although she switched herself out with a police officer and got away.

Kate went on a super-secret mission with Clint for S.H.I.E.L.D. to a Hydra base in Antarctica. Maria Hill told them that they were there to retrieve some dangerous weapons that were part of something called Project Communion. In fact, the "weapons" were children that had gone through unnamed experiments that caused them to be deformed and gave them undefined powers.[57] Back on the S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier, the kids were taken into custody and put under quarantine. Kate felt bad for them and was desperate to rescue them and eventually she convinced Clint to help her do it. Together they knocked out about a dozen S.H.I.E.L.D. agents before stealing a flying car and bringing the kids back to Clint's apartment. When Hydra attempted to abduct the kids, they unleashed their power once again, killing all of the Hydra agents. Clint thought that they went too far, but Kate argued that they were just children and didn't know that what they were doing was wrong. When Hydra came back in greater numbers, Clint made her give the kids up and said that they were weapons, after all.

After their disagreement over the Project Communion kids, a rift grew between the two Hawkeyes. Kate and Clint were still partners, but Kate had trouble overcoming her anger with Clint in order to work together well as a team. Kate went behind Clint's back and took out Hammerhead even though they had planned to fight him together. When Clint confronted her about it, she told him that she thought that Team Hawkeye needed to take a break and that she just wanted to be Hawkeye by herself for a while. Kate later ignored him when he tried to call her to make up.

She met up with America Chavez for dinner and dancing, and America told her that it was not Kate's responsibility to take care of Clint. Kate ended up sleeping with a guy she met that night. In the morning, she kicked him out of her apartment, even though he wanted to stay and go to breakfast with her. When Kate called America, she was surprised, and said that he had seemed nice and Kate had seemed into him. When Kate replied that she didn't need any attachments right then and that super hero life was enough for her, America told her that she was starting to sound like "the wrong Hawkeye."

Later, Clint visited her and told her that he had been wrong and that they needed to go back for the Project Communion kids. Both Hawkeyes, along with Barney Barton, stole the kids from S.H.I.E.L.D. right under Maria Hill's nose by pretending to be Hydra agents. As they tried to leave in a helicopter, real Hydra agents, none to pleased by their charade, attacked. Together, the Hawkeyes and Barney fended them off. They flew to Barney's island home, where the kids would live with him and his family. Kate said that she wanted to go solo for a while, and Clint said that he couldn't be mad at her since she was his best friend. Kate replied that Clint was still her hero.

Patsy Walker invited Kate and some other heroes to an emergency meeting to get burgers and discuss her plans to start a superhero temp agency.

Some time later, Kate was house sitting for Clint when a future version of Logan broke into the apartment, looking for a place to rest and heal. He was greeted by Kate pointing an arrow in his face. He had been looking for Clint, and upon finding out that he wasn't going to be back any time soon, Logan decided to leave.

Before he could, though, he passed out at the front door. He woke up thirty three hours later and Kate was eager to help him settle his score with Mysterio. Logan was reluctant to accept her help, but she was insistent and they were soon on their way.
After noticing that Logan had seen a few differences between their world and his, Kate suggested that maybe this wasn't his past after all, but he didn't believe her. They went into Mysterio's last known location but he wasn't there. Kate told Logan that he was being too violent towards the men who were there, who could tell them nothing. She shot him with one of her arrows, and he quickly turned against her, slicing her favorite bow in half. This was an effective enough distraction that the men were able to get away, and Kate managed to get a couple words in about how Logan didn't need to save everyone, because in this world they were all still alive and that he didn't have to be alone anymore. Logan replied that he was always alone and left. Steve Rogers met him outside. Steve knocked him out with his shield, while Kate, having followed him out, shot him with "enough tranquilizer to drop the Rhino." They brought him to Alberta, to show him the Logan of their reality's body, but Logan thought that the entire scenario was just one of Mysterio's illusions and lashed out at Steve and Kate, trashing another of Kate's bows. Steve eventually got him inside, and, upon seeing his counterpart's body encased in Adamantium, he finally believed that he was not in his own past.

After a conflict arose within the superhero community about the ethics of using the powers of a new Inhuman to stop crimes before they happened, James Rhodes died in a conflict with Thanos. During his funeral, Kate saw America all alone outside and went to console her. America fought against Thanos alongside War Machine, and so blamed herself for his death. America said that she didn't want to talk about it, so instead she created a portal and led Kate through a series of alternate realities where Rhodes didn't die. Kate asked whether America saw everyone as interchangeable with their alternate universe selves. America told Kate that although there were a near infinite number of James Rhodes' in the multiverse, she appreciated the way that Kate's James Rhodes died because he died protecting his world. Kate asked why America cared so much about the people of her particular earth, but America didn't answer.

Ulysses made another prediction, this time about Bruce Banner causing a colossal amount of destruction. Captain Marvel and a group of other heroes apprehended Banner, and it was revealed that he had been experimenting on himself and so there was a chance that he could become the Hulk again. As tensions rose, Clint Barton, on orders from Banner to kill him if he ever became the Hulk again, shot Banner through the eye. Barton was immediately arrested and stood trial for murder. He was found not guilty, as Banner had videotaped himself confessing that he had instructed Barton to kill him.

After Clint's acquittal, a great deal of media attention was focused on the other Hawkeye, accusing Clint of leaving her a legacy of violence. Kate struggled to come to terms with what he had done and what it meant for her, dealing with conflicting feelings and nosy strangers. She felt guilty for not knowing what was going on and not having done anything to stop Clint, and angry that Clint was still keeping secrets and treating her like someone who needed to be protected instead of informed. While sure that Clint must have had a good reason, she also didn't seem eager to step up and defend him publicly. Her old Young Avengers teammates, Billy, Teddy, America, and David, came to cheer her up and offer their support. She confessed that she didn't really know what was going on, but she just felt bad about the whole thing, and was glad they'd reminded her she was alone after all.

After Iron Man discovered that Captain Marvel had been holding a seemingly innocent civilian captive with the only evidence to her guilt being one of Ulysses' predictions, he led an attack on the Triskelion supported by a large group of heroes including Kate.

After the Civil War, Kate moved back to Los Angeles and set up her own detective agency, Hawkeye Investigations. One of her first cases involved the harassment of Mikka Nguyen by stalker Larry Gort, which led her to began investigating the mysterious group Take Back Control.

HISTORY:
Krona belonged to the ancient Maltusian race and, as a scientist, sought to create intergalactic order, believing the only logical way was through knowledge. His thirst for understanding consumed him as he implemented perverse experiments to the detriment of the cosmos. Krona's ideas often clashed with those of his fellow Maltusians, including his protest over his brethren's contempt for emotions during their progress into becoming the Guardians of the Universe.

At some point, Krona was attacked by the Manhunters, the emotionless, robotic force created by the Guardians of the Universe, and he was able to fend them off. Afterward, Krona believed that the Manhunters are flawed, as an emotionless police force, and decided to prove his theory by discreetly reprogramming them to commit a massive genocide of Space Sector 666; specifically the planet Ryut, where only five individuals, known as the Five Inversions, survived the massacre, and founded the Empire of Tears. Among those five was Atrocitus, who would later found the Red Lantern Corps, swearing vengeance on the Guardians, as he mistakenly believed them responsible for the devastation of his world. The massacre also caused the Guardians to abandon the Manhunters and form the Green Lantern Corps.

Krona continued his forbidden experiments that involved witnessing the beginning of time itself, which was considered by the Maltusians a great taboo. He succeeded in his experiment and managed to glimpsed the hand of creation depositing the speck that would become the entire cosmos. His machine exploded at that instant, and the universe was shattered, causing the creation of the Multiverse as the universe replicated into an infinite number of parallel universes. At this same moment, the Antimatter Universe was created, unleashing evil into the cosmos, and giving birth to the Monitor and the Anti-Monitor. Krona's actions finally caught the attention of his fellow Maltusians, who expelled him from their ranks and punished him for his crimes by converting him to a state of energy, which was sent to circle all the universe for eternity. It was the actions of Krona that caused the Maltusians, who felt guilty for not having stopped Krona early on, to split into various groups (the Guardians of the Universe, the Controllers, and the Zamarons). Though banished, Krona vowed revenge and could only wait an opportunity to escape.

Following Krona's banishment, a map belonging to him was left behind on Maltus which highlighted a great of source of power on the world of Okaara. This map was discovered by Larfleeze and his band of thieves which led them to uncovering the Orange Lantern Power Battery.

Krona would eventually escape his fate, and he later tried to start his experiment all over again, since the original machine had exploded before he could finish watching the universe being created. He was stopped by the Green Lanterns of Earth, Hal Jordan and Alan Scott, and banished into his energy form again.

Eventually however, Krona's energy form somehow reached the dimension where the souls of the dead in the universe await their passage into their final residences. This realm was ruled by a being called Nekron, Lord of the Unliving. Because of the paradox of an immortal now being in the Realm of the Dead, a rift opened between the dimensions, which allowed Nekron to see the universe of the living. Desiring it, but being too large to pass through the gap, Nekron instead recreated Krona as an undead being of enormous power.

Given an army of similarly-restored spirits, Nekron sent Krona to kill the Guardians, so the rift would open more. Krona accepted Nekron's commission, because part of Nekron's plan involved collapsing the universe so as to recreate it according to his own desires; this would give Krona the chance to see a universe being born. Krona and his minions succeeded in killing some Guardians as well as several Green Lanterns while destroying the Central Power Battery to preclude the Lanterns recharging their power rings.

Although Krona's subsequent attack was powerful enough to shatter the morale of the Corps, Hal Jordan managed to inspire and rally his fellows to attack Krona with the remaining time of their rings' charge. Krona was defeated when Jordan entered the realm of the dead and incited the spirits of the recently-killed Lanterns to rebel against Nekron. This gave the Guardians enough time to banish Krona into the dead realm and close the rift while the spirit of Jordan's predecessor, Abin Sur, helped his successor escape the realm.

While still an entropy-being, still trying to discover the secret of universal creation, Krona used his probes to destroy several dimensional universes. Arriving in the Marvel Universe, Krona agreed to a cosmic game with En Dwi Gast, the Grandmaster, who stopped his probes, after the Grandmaster stated that there is a being in his universe who had survived the Big Bang. In exchange for not destroying universes, the Grandmaster offered Krona to play a new game; in which involved two teams from each universe, the Justice League and the Avengers, to seek out twelve items of great power scattered throughout both universes. The Justice League represent the Grandmaster, and the Avengers represent Krona. Should Krona's team win, the Grandmaster would give Krona the knowledge he sought, in return for not destroying his universe.

But the game resulted in a victory for the Justice League, due to the heroes having figured out the nature of the game. Krona attacked the Grandmaster out of anger and absorbed his knowledge, which resulted in his finally obtaining the secret he sought from the cosmic entity Galactus, whom he killed. In spite of Krona's success, he fell into a trap engineered by the Grandmaster, which imprisoned Krona between the Universes, by using the items of power to merge the universes together. However, Krona gained control of the items and continued his onslaught, seeking to destroy both of the two Universes, in order to create a new one the creation of which he could watch at first-hand. The Justice League and Avengers heroes made an assault on Krona's base, (which was built from the remains of Galactus), and Krona responded by summoning an army of brainwashed villains against the heroes. Even with Superman wielding Captain America's shield and Thor's uru hammer Mjolnir, it was Hawkeye and the Flash who finally stopped Krona, imprisoning him into a "cosmic egg" from which a universe will be born in about a trillion years. The cosmic egg was kept and studied in the JLA's Watchtower.

The cosmic egg containing Krona was later stolen by Despero and used as a power source by Enigma of the Antimatter Universe and Morgaine le Fey to reshape reality as the Dark Trinity, using the egg as a conduit to warp the world with magic. When the spell failed, Krona was freed. Following a lead he found during his confrontation with the Grandmaster (stating that all universes have awareness and thoughts of their own), he contacted the Controllers to help him contact the New Earth universe's consciousness. The Controllers were skeptical, and instead attempted to restrain Krona and study his energies. Enraged, Krona destroyed the laboratory planet of the Controllers and found the planet's consciousness, "freed" from its prison of matter. Krona then set out to do this to as many planets as he could so as to ultimately bring war upon the Universe's consciousness itself.

Krona was then approached by the Dark Trinity seeking his power to fend off the returned Trinity (Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman). Morgaine offered the planet Earth's consciousness in return, intending to replace it with the soul of Enigma's daughter.
Krona accepted and this resulted in a battle between him, the JLA, Justice Society of America, Titans, Teen Titans, the God-like trinity consisting of Superman, Wonder Woman and Batman, and other various heroes, aliens, and villains. During the height of the battle, Krona was imprisoned, but was set free by Morgaine, who had finally snapped, claiming that if she could not have the world, then nobody would. Following that, Krona unleashed his powers and destroyed the Earth.

Moments after Earth's destruction Krona encountered its essence, the Worldsoul. Krona inquired about the law of universes, wishing to know how the Worldsoul and other entities like it function and exist, hoping to learn of some higher plan or design. However, he was horrified to learn that the Worldsoul has no actual function other than to simply exist, resonate and, most importantly, to feel, to share in the positive emotions of every life form that dwells upon its surface, at one with the Universe in a Great Dance with the other souls of worlds. This explanation, such as it is, defied all logic and science Krona had studied, and he believed this rendered himself and his entire life, in effect, pointless. In a fit of rage, he attempted to destroy the Worldsoul, but was stopped by the Trinity, who had survived the destruction of Earth. Combining their powers with that of the Worldsoul, they imprisoned Krona and re-formed the Earth, restoring everything and everyone to the way it was prior to its destruction. Krona's ultimate fate was to be remade as the Worldsoul of an alternate Earth, this time imprisoned for all eternity.

Recently, Krona has returned to the mainstream DC universe in the wake of Nekron's defeat during Blackest Night and has been collecting all of the Emotional Entities for an unknown purpose. The first act of Krona's plan occurs with his abduction of the fear entity Parallax during the finale of Blackest Night, imprisoning the creature within the confines of an ancient temple marked with the symbols of the Emotional Spectrum. It is revealed that he has used Maltusian Evolutionary Bandages to hyper evolve into a Guardian of the Universe state, rather than his original, Maltusian form, or his energy form.

Krona then proceeds to remove Ion from Sodam Yat, effectively turning Daxam's sun from yellow back to red and killing hundreds of Daxamites in the process. Over the course of the story arc, Krona is shown working with Hank Henshaw, telling him that enslaving and altering the qualities of the Alpha Lanterns will restore his mortality and also lead to the destruction of the Green Lantern Corps. In addition, he is shown working with the telepathic Zardor in his plot to brainwash rookie members of the Green Lantern Corps for his own purposes.

Krona later appears on the Eastern Seaboard of the United States -- with an obedient Parallax in tow -- to Hal Jordan, Nicole Morrison, Larfleeze, Saint Walker and the Indigo Tribe, seeking to obtain both Adara and Proselyte for his entity collection. When confronting Jordan and the others, Krona reveals that, prior to his banishment by the Guardians, he was the caretaker responsible for protecting the entities, and that is why he can control them and the abilities they possess. When Sinestro and Atrocitus join the battle, Krona is able to take the Butcher for his collection as well before taking off to Zamaron, still recovering from the attack of Queen Shrike and the Manhawks, and collecting the Predator, which finishes his collection.

Seeking his control over the various corps, Krona returned to Oa and instilled each of the entities except for Parallax into each of the Guardians of the Universe taking control over them. He then placed Parallax back inside the Central Power Battery and in doing so, reinstalled the impurity throughout the Green Lantern Corps leaving them to go to war with their fellow corpsmen over their fears for each other. The impurity causes any Green Lantern connected to the Central Power Battery to lose their free will and become slaves to Krona. The possessed Mogo begins sending out thousands of Green Lantern rings to unworthy beings, resulting in a massive Green Lantern army of mindless, violent slaves.

Krona later captures Hal and Guy and chains them. He plans to hyper evolve them using the evolutionary bandages. When John Stewart kills Mogo using the power of the Black Lanterns, channeled through the Indigo Ring he is wearing to keep his free will, Hal and Guy are able to escape. The four Earth Green Lanterns are able to free Parallax from the Central Power Battery, freeing the Corps from Krona's control.

After his death, Atrocitus takes Krona's lifeless body to Ysmault, where he confides in the dead Guardian that he is like a jealous lover that Hal Jordon got to kill the Guardian instead of him. Later, Krona body is stolen by Abysmus, and eaten, so that Abysmus could gain Krona's power.

Lady Quark's husband and daughter are both killed when Earth-Six is destroyed during the Crisis. She is saved at the last minute by Pariah, a dimensional traveler. She helps most of the multiverse's surviving heroes and they journey to the Dawn of Time to battle the Anti-Monitor.

After the Crisis was over, Lady Quark resettles on Earth with Pariah and Harbinger. Missing her husband, she approached Will Payton, Starman, with the idea of having him become her consort. Payton rejected her advances. Lady Quark is eventually recruited by Vril Dox to be become a member of the peace-keeping force L.E.G.I.O.N. During her stay with the team, an alternate time-line presents itself when Dox captures the time-traveler Waverider. Quark, Dox and Waverider then merge into a powerful, murderous dictator.

Lady Quark is apparently killed after a parasitic shapeshifter absorbs her memories and powers. The shapeshifter replaces her in L.E.G.I.O.N., but later dies. Lady Quark's corpse is seen floating in space, heavily maimed. Eleven years later, she returns alive and well without explanation and is captured by Sinestro at Alexander Luthor, Jr.'s request. She is imprisoned on Luthor's tower; its purpose is to bring the core Earths of the Multiverse back into existence. She is later freed and joins Earth's heroes in defeating Luthor. She recently appears again during the Sinestro Corps War.

CONTACTS: Legion of Superheroes

HISTORY:
Laurel Kent of Earth was a young woman who happened to be the 30th century direct descendant of Superman. She first introduced herself to a teenage Superboy, then a prominent member of the Legion of Super-Heroes, as 'Elna' (an anagram of "Lane," the surname of Superman's wife Lois Lane). Superboy was initially quite attracted to her, until he discovered to his chagrin that they were related. Laurel had inherited her ancestor's superhuman invulnerability and applied for Legion membership, but was rejected on the grounds that Legionnaires Mon-El and Ultra Boy had the same ability and she had no other powers. Laurel Kent became a trusted associate of the team, and joined the Legion Academy to further her training in hopes of one day becoming a full Legionnaire.

Though denied full Legion membership, Laurel was admitted to the Legion Academy training program, where she met and befriended other Legion hopefuls.

The Legionnaire Dawnstar became Laurel's roommate and closest friend during this time, having found something in common due to Dawnstar's recent entry to the Academy and move to Earth. Although aloof and distant at first, Laurel stood up to Dawnstar's initial observations of her and won her trust and respect. Laurel also became close friends with Power Boy and the two were long-standing senior students with a deep respect for one another, Power Boy becoming very protective of her. Laurel also had close ties to Comet Queen, a later inductee to the Academy. Although both were opposites in their demeanors and approach, they viewed each other as girlfriends.

Bouncing Boy led a team of Academy students Power Boy, Laurel Kent, Invisible Kid and the White Witch to the Metropolis Spaceport to recapture some escaped animals. The students split up to take on the three beasts, with Power Boy and Invisible Kid working together to take down the Flasher Beast after getting temporarily blinded by it. Laurel Kent recaptures the Schnauzerphant by treating it like a puppy. The White Witch takes down the Earthquake Beast by turning its power against itself. Back at the Academy, Duo Damsel criticizes their performance as they didn’t work in teams.

Laurel had romantic relationships with male Academy members and even Legionnaires such as Sun Boy. However her flirtations never went long and Laurel did not have any long romantic engagements.

Laurel underwent extensive combat training in the Academy and learned to be a capable fighter. Understanding the limitations of her powers she learned how to compliment her fellow student's gifts while in combat situations. She became a long standing student perhaps one of the senior's in the Academy already on several occasions training alongside Legionnaires and assisting as back up support when needed. Like other Academy members, Laurel was given a Legion Flight Ring so that she could fly and communicate with her teammates. Most of her Legion appearances were as an Academy member, and she only saw occasional action.

Laurel became the focal character in the Legion story arc "Who Shot Laurel Kent?" Laurel was shot by a would-be assassin using a Kryptonite bullet as part of a plot to assassinate the descendants of the members of the iconic 20th-century super-team, the Justice League of America, of which Superman was a member. The plot turned out to be orchestrated by an old enemy of the JLA, Professor Ivo, who was immortal and still alive during the 30th century. Though the pain caused by the wound was a completely new experience to Laurel, whose power had never allowed her to be injured before, she managed to survive the attack and Ivo was thwarted by the Legion.

After the Crisis on Infinite Earths and during the Millennium crossover story arc, Laurel's Legionnaire friends began noticing that Laurel was behaving strangely. When they investigated, Laurel turned against the Legion and attacked them, demonstrating powers she did not normally have, including super-strength and energy projection. Her appearance also changed, with her skin becoming metallic and her eyes robotic. This "Laurel" then claimed that she was a Manhunter android from the 20th century who had survived for a thousand years and was playing the role of Superman's descendant, and that the woman they knew as Laurel Kent never existed. Her programming eventually sent her fleeing to a hidden Manhunter base in the Himalayas, where she self-destructed. Despite the Manhunter's claims, it has recently been revealed that the real Laurel Kent was alive during this story arc, and she had merely been kidnapped and held captive by the android impostor.

In Superman/Batman #80, Laurel Kent appeared in the future where she was once again using the name Elna and had become the Superwoman of the 31st century. She was shown working beside the 31st century Superman ( Kent Shakespeare), Batman ( Brane Taylor), and Robin ( Tom Wayne) as they fought Epoch, the Lord of Time. It was revealed that Laurel's Manhunter impostor had kidnapped and replaced the real Laurel Kent years ago, but after the Manhunter was destroyed, Laurel was eventually discovered and freed.

HISTORY:
Lex Luthor was born and raised in the poverty stricken area of Metropolis known as Suicide Slum, the child of abusive parents, with a fierce desire to better himself. As a teenager, young Lex engineered the deaths of his parents in order to profit from a large life insurance policy he had taken out in their names, and went on to found his own company LexCorp.

Lex turned the company into a multi-national corporation that would ultimately come to dominate the city of Metropolis. With it he owns every media corporation in the city and uses them to reinforce his public image as a wealthy benefactor. The one paper outlet that had always stood free was the Daily Planet (he would come to buy it much later). One such critic was the young reporter, and Editor In Chief, Perry White. Luthor detested White, due to his outspoken attitudes and a release by the Planet condemning his actions with an outrageous editorial signed by White himself. As a result, when Clark Kent is first inducted into the Planet, the newspaper is almost bankrupt, dilapidated, and unable to afford new reporters. Luthor made many criminal connections and industries, anything to help him rise to be the unchallenged master of Metropolis. His legitimate businesses attached to LexCorp cover a variety of enterprises ranging from telephone companies to personal gaming devices. As part of his image, Lex created the illusion of being a caring philanthropist. He became the most powerful man in Metropolis, both financially and in the world of organized crime. Lex would create havoc on the streets by selling weapons to the gangs of Metropolis and using his primarily female staff of underlings to keep blackmail files on all of the major organized crime groups in the city. Lex could use them to further any schemes he had planned. However, this all ended with the arrival of Superman.

Several months after Superman first arrived in Metropolis, terrorists attacked a society gala aboard Luthor's yacht. Lois Lane, whom Luthor had tried to romance as a ninth trophy wife some time before, was present during the attack which was stopped by Superman. Luthor tried unsuccessfully to hire Superman as a bodyguard. But when he admitted that he had known the attack was to occur and had allowed it to proceed in order to see Superman in action first hand, Mayor Berkowitz deputized Superman on the spot to arrest Luthor for reckless endangerment. He avoided prison thanks to a legal technicality, but still had to endure the humiliation of being publicly led away under arrest.

Luthor vowed to destroy Superman for this humiliation, and he has since devoted much time and energy to that goal. An early attempt led to the creation of an imperfect clone of Superman meant to destroy him, but was unsuccessful because Superman's alien DNA made the clone unstable. Luthor continued his vendetta. He was a man driven to be the best, having fought his way up from lowly beginnings by his own (dubious) efforts, and was resentful of how Superman was given his powers by random fate of birth. Superman survived subsequent attempts Luthor made on his life, but he had never been able to prove Luthor's role in the attacks. Aside from Lex's immense wealth and connections, he was able to weasel his way out of trouble due to the fact that Superman, being liable as a witness, would have to reveal his true identity in court to testify against him.

Luthor soon acquired the only known sample of Kryptonite on Earth from the kryptonite-powered cyborg Metallo, whom LexCorp abducted just before Metallo succeeded in killing Superman. Fashioning a signet ring from the alien ore deadly to Superman, Luthor began wearing it constantly to ward off his enemy. Unfortunately, Luthor suffered from severe cancer in the 1990s, caused by long-term radiation exposure to his Kryptonite ring (before this, Kryptonite exposure had not been thought to be harmful to non-Kryptonian life forms). Later, he would find a way to protect himself from its side effects. He also discovered more than one kind of Kryptonite, which he would later use in his battles against Superman.

Luthor's hand soon had to be amputated and replaced by a prosthetic version (hidden under a black leather glove) to prevent the cancer's spread, but unfortunately by then it had already metastasized. It was eventually determined that the disease was terminal. Luthor faked his own death shortly afterward by taking his personally designed jet, the Lexwing, on a proposed trip around the world. He crashed it in the Andes of Peru as a cover for the transplant of his brain into a healthy clone of himself which he passed off as his hitherto unknown son and heir by Dr. Gretchen Kelley, Lex Luthor II. The young Luthor had apparently been secretly raised by foster parents in Australia to protect him from his father's enemies. This deception was bolstered by his new body having a full head of red hair and a beard, as well as the appropriate Australian accent created through use of audio teaching tapes.

Luthor used his new identity as his own son to seduce Supergirl and continue to torment Superman from the shadows. However, everything quickly fell apart when Luthor's new clone body began to deteriorate and age at a rapid rate. This caused Luthor to begin to slip. Lois Lane discovered proof that Lex Luthor had murdered a female LexCorp employee and framed an innocent man for the murder years earlier. This led to Lois finding the truth about Lex faking his death and being his own son. This caused Luthor to systematically destroy Lois's life and have her fired from the Daily Planet. Lois fought back, and with help from Superman, exposed the truth about Lex Luthor, his faked death, and his evil criminal activities to the public. Luthor, right before his body became so old that he couldn't move or communicate, activated a "Doomsday Plan" to destroy Metropolis. The city was burned to the ground and thousands killed as Luthor became a permanent prisoner in his cloned body. However, aid would come in the form of the demon Neron. Luthor sold his soul in exchange for Neron restoring his body to perfect health. Returning to a rebuilt Metropolis, Luthor turned himself over to the police and was put on trial. He was acquitted of all crimes when Luthor claimed to have been kidnapped by renegade scientists who replaced him with a clone responsible for all the crimes he was charged with.

Lex Luthor had cultivated a popular image as a great philanthropist. He had been instrumental in reverse-engineering alien technology for use in general consumer goods, upgrading Metropolis into a true "City of Tomorrow." When Gotham City was destroyed by an earthquake and abandoned by the American government, it was LexCorp that took up the massive task of rebuilding the city. Later, Luthor also played an instrumental role in assisting the Justice League in recharging the sun during the Final Night storyline.
Despite his hatred for Lois Lane for temporarily bringing down his evil criminal empire, Lex Luthor has an unspoken love for her. On several occasions Luthor has commented that had Superman not arrived in Metropolis, Lex would have used his time and energy to romantically pursue Lois and marry her. He has been married eight times in his life, though the first seven marriages occurred off-panel in Luthor's past sometime before Superman showed up in Metropolis. While his previous seven marriages were hinted to have been based on love (or as close to the concept of love as Lex Luthor understands it), Luthor's eighth marriage to Contessa Erica Alexandra del Portenza (or 'The Contessa' as she was called) was a marriage that was based on mutual manipulation and greed. The Contessa had bought controlling interest in LexCorp after Luthor was exposed as evil, forcing Lex into a marriage with her in order to regain control over the company. The marriage was doomed from the beginning as the two fought constantly and never loved each other. The Contessa became pregnant with Lex's child and began using the unborn child to dominate Lex into doing her bidding. Luthor's response to the Contessa's actions was to use her desire to be unconscious during childbirth to lock her in the basement of his corporate headquarters in a permanently-drugged unconscious state. Luthor took over as a single father to his daughter (named Lena, after both his adopted sister and aunt) and vowed never to marry again, stating that he wanted to never have to share his daughter's love with anyone else. It was later implied that Lex killed the Contessa months afterward (her death reported to have occurred in a hospital fire), although no body was ever found.

Lex became the President of the United States, winning the election on a platform of promoting technological progresses for the common people. His first action as President was to take a proposed moratorium on fossil-based fuels to U.S. Congress in hopes of putting "a flying car in every garage". Despite Luthor's more villainous traits, he was assisted by the extreme unpopularity of the previous administration due to its mishandling of the No Man's Land crisis. Ironically, Batman would ultimately learn that Luthor was involved in the mishandling of the Gotham City rebuilding process, provoking Bruce Wayne to sever all military contract ties between the U.S. government and Wayne Enterprises. Luthor responded by ordering the murder of Batman's lover Vesper Fairchild and framing Bruce Wayne for the murder.

An early triumph of his political career was his handling of the Imperiex War, in which he coordinated the U.S. Army, Earth's superheroes and a number of untrustworthy alien forces to battle the story's villain, Imperiex. However, as it would later be revealed, Lex knew about the alien invasion in advance and did nothing to alert Earth's heroes to it.

Superman and his supporting cast had their origins revised in the Superman: Birthright series written by Mark Waid in 2003. This rewrote the previous definitive origin story, John Byrne's 1986 mini-series The Man of Steel, to include more elements from the Silver Age character. It would remain in continuity until Infinite Crisis in 2006 established Geoff Johns' Superman: Secret Origin.

Lex Luthor finally accepted Superman's secret identity as Clark Kent. He had been aware of this from their earliest meetings but refused to accept it for his own personal belief that people of power always crave and reflect themselves as people of power, never as one of the masses. Thus, to Luthor, a being like Superman would never try and pass himself off as Clark Kent who was less than extraordinary. In a story published in 2002, a lowly scientist was able to get a meeting with Lex and reveal top secret government documents showing the rocket containing baby Superman crashing near the farm of Martha and Jonathan Kent. Killing the scientist, Lex surprisingly decided to keep the knowledge a secret. He did so regardless that Clark Kent took the fall for Lois publishing proof that Lex Luthor knew of the alien invasion of "Our Worlds At War," but had opted not to make any defensive plans to save the people of Kansas from attack. Clark was fired from the Daily Planet as a result of Manchester Black using his telepathic powers on an unknowing Lex to allow him to pass an assortment of lie detector tests (including Wonder Woman's lasso of truth) to prove that Lois and Clark's story was a lie. When Manchester Black tried to kill Superman and his friends and family, Luthor came to Superman's aid. He admitted that he had kept Superman's identity as Clark Kent secret both out of a sense of nostalgia for their past confrontations and the knowledge that revealing the truth about Superman would endanger Lois, nearly the only woman he cared for. In the end, Manchester Black was defeated and as revenge for Lex helping Superman defeat him, Black erased all knowledge that Clark Kent was Superman from Lex's mind before taking his own life.

Later, as his success at framing Bruce Wayne for the murder of Vesper Fairchild caused him to get arrogant, Luthor once again overplayed his hand in an attempt to blame Superman for a kryptonite meteor approaching the Earth. Initially convinced that everyone would listen to his claims against Superman simply because he was President despite his failure to produce any evidence of Superman's 'guilt', he instead raised questions about himself as Superman and Batman uncovered a plot of Luthor's to further torment Batman that involved tricking Batman into thinking that Metallo was the man who killed Batman's parents. In desperation, he used a variant combination of the "super-steroid" Venom, liquid synthetic green kryptonite, and an Apokaliptian battlesuit to battle Superman directly. Unfortunately, the madness that is a side effect of Venom took hold, and he revealed his true colors during the battle. The final straw was the revelation that Talia Head (New Earth), the acting CEO of LexCorp, had sold all the company assets to the Wayne Foundation. He has since gone underground, leaving the Presidency to his Vice President, Pete Ross.

Lex Luthor had retreated into recluse before the events of Infinite Crisis, as he prepared to try and activate the mind control programming inside the brain of then current Superboy (Conner Kent) to help him gain revenge against Earth's mightiest heroes. He was also revealed to have orchestrated, with help from the newly created robotic Brainiac, the murder of Teen Titan member Donna Troy (New Earth), who is destined to play a critical role in "Infinite Crisis". He's also been carefully surveilling the new Supergirl, and has plans for her involving his newly-acquired Black Kryptonite.

With Lex Luthor acting in secret, Alexander Luthor, Jr. returned to New Earth and began his own plot that was interfering with LEX's own plans. Assuming the Post-Crisis Lex Luthor's identity, Alexander began an elaborate scheme, with help from Superboy-Prime and Kal-L, to restore the original Multiverse. His intentions were not just to recreate them as they once were, but as the basis of his ultimate goal, as he told Superboy-Prime that he would help them "whether [he] likes it or not".

As one of the premier reformers of the "Secret Society of Super-Villains", Alexander Luthor, Jr. recruited Black Adam, Doctor Psycho, Calculator, Talia Head, and Deathstroke as his inner circle. The new Society exploited the villain community's fear of mind-wipes at the hands of the Justice League as a means to recruit an army of villains under the premise of creating their own "mind-wipe" device to erase the memories of Earth's heroes as payback. However, this was just another cover for his even darker scheme involving the kidnapping of heroes, each representing alternate Earths, to power the giant tower being used to alter reality. Alexander Luthor, Jr., formerly of Earth-Three, had decided to restore the previously existing multiverse as a base selection to create a so-called "perfect" universe, as the current reality seemed to be failing. It was, in Alexander Luthor, Jr.'s own words, " a world of villains". Abandoned by his allies, Alex Jr. was depowered, due to the villains that Lex assembled under his alias of Mockingbird. Lex tracked down the supposedly depowered Alex Jr. and allowed the Joker to kill him in a fit of revenge.

Lex used Alex's corpse as evidence that he had an impostor who was responsible for all his recent illegal activities. He was cleared of many of the criminal actions he was accused of.

The events of Infinite Crisis and Alex Luthor's attempts to rewrite history actually led to alterations in Lex Luthor's personal history. In the newly created time line, the current Luthor family has a long history with the city of Metropolis. Some of Lex's ancestors were among the pilgrims who founded the city, others were amongst the Native Americans who were there to meet them. Over the centuries, the Luthor family became wealthy and influential. Lex's great-grandfather Wallace Luthor being a millionaire industrialist at the beginning of the 20th Century. He lost his fortune though, in the stock market crash of 1929, and went to his grave a pauper after having to declare bankruptcy. The family fortune would not be rebuilt until the arrival of Lex Luthor, the son of abusive alcoholic Lionel Luthor and his wife Letitia. Lex cared little for his parents, though he did love his sister Lena. In his teens, he lived for a time in Smallville with his aunt, also called Lena, and there met the young Clark Kent and his friends Lana Lang and Pete Ross. The stand-offish and superior Lex was friendly with Clark for a time, but eventually left Smallville under a cloud of suspicion after his father died in mysterious circumstances (engineered by Lex, though this could not be proved). Leaving his sister in Smallville, Lex went to Metropolis and, as before, founded LexCorp.

In this new timeline, Luthor's first meeting with Superman was also somewhat different. As part of his philanthropic image, Luthor had taken to picking a random person from the supplicants who gathered at LexCorp's gates every morning to bestow the chance of a new life upon them. His choice on this occasion, though, was Rudy Jones who, after eating a doughnut contaminated by an unknown radioactive chemical compound, was transformed into the Parasite (Rudy Jones). Superman stopped the Parasite's rampage, overshadowing Luthor and infuriating him. Lex contacted General Sam Lane, who was convinced Superman was a threat, and informed him that Superman was an alien. He transformed one of Lane's men, Sgt John Corben, into Metallo and sent him out after Superman. However, Metallo was defeated and Superman, previously an object of suspicion in the city, feted as a hero. When Luthor came to bestow his gifts on a grateful populace the next day, no-one was there. Lex was no longer the most powerful man in Metropolis. This cemented Lex's lifelong hatred of the Man of Steel. Eventually, as before, Luthor went from hero of the people to public enemy number one.

Through his still impressive financial resources, Lex has engaged in a public promotion campaign to regain his popularity through the Everyman Project, a scientific process that could grant superhuman powers to non-metahumans. The first several subjects of his process became the latest incarnation of Infinity, Inc. Luthor's own body, however, was not compatible with the process, a fact which pained him greatly.

When newly minted meta-humans began falling out of the sky, the media-dubbed Fall Of The Supermen, Luthor's building was attacked by John Henry Irons (New Earth) and his niece. Steel confronted Luthor and was beaten, Lex having discovered a way to gain meta-powers of his own. Lex was still defeated, however, and arrested. It was later found that the Lex that was imprisoned was, in fact, Everyman. Lex was found in a hidden room still inside the Lexcorp building.

One year after the events of Infinite Crisis, Luthor had been cleared of over 120 criminal counts ranging from malfeasance to first-degree murder relating to the New Year's Eve massacre from 52. However, his role in the massacre has permanently ruined his public image and, thanks to the machinations of Doctor Sivana, has lost most of his wealth and all of his control over his newly reformed LexCorp, run by Lana Lang. He blames Clark Kent for writing several articles unraveling his schemes and pledges vengeance on Metropolis after an angry mob jeers him on the courthouse steps. After amassing large quantities of Kryptonite, and kidnapping the supervillains Metallo and Kryptonite Man, Lex uses it to power a Kryptonian battleship controlled through a "sunstone" crystal, using it to lash out at Metropolis for 'forgetting' him. While giant crystal formations began to appear throughout the ground, Superman tried to save as many people as he could and find the source of the attack. He found Lex high above the city in a ship made of the crystal where he was controlling it all from. Lex turned all of the crystal into kryptonite, forcing Superman to stay away from Metropolis and the ship, but he didn't count on Superman charging him. Superman knew Luthor would have some form of personal shielding and was right as they both fell down towards the ground. Luthor had time to say one thing: “I hate you. So much.” Superman was again powerless and Luthor's shield was weak when they struck the ground. They both arose weak and injured, and Lex began to fist-fight with Superman. With each traded punch, Lex spoke of how if Superman hadn't arrived on Earth and came to Metropolis, he would have made so many scientific breakthroughs instead of trying to come up with ways to destroy him, claiming that it was all Superman's fault that Lex wasn't the top of the food chain anymore. Superman countered with the fact that he had been away for an entire year, yet Luthor had accomplished none of these things he claimed he could have done, simply finding a big machine so that he could break things. The fight ended with Superman victorious.

Luthor was subsequently abducted from prison and drafted in Project 7734 under General Lane. He had hopes of using the project to fulfill his goals against Superman, but Lane had been keeping him on topic.

Lex later sends Bizarro after the newly arrived "Superboy" only for the creature to be defeated by Superman. Undaunted, Luthor gathers together a new Revenge Squad to fight against invading Kryptonians led by General Zod, working alongside Superman only so that Superman can see that Luthor was right about the threat he poses to Earth.

In JLA, Luthor (alongside Joker (New Earth) and Cheetah III) gathers together a new "Injustice League" and, outfitted in a new version of his warsuit, sets out to destroy the Justice League with them. On a related note during this section, he was responsible for creating the third Shaggy Man and the third Blockbuster.

Luthor plays a large role in the Countdown to Final Crisis tie-in event, Salvation Run. Having been sent to the prison planet after his Injustice League was defeated, Lex quickly assumes control of the amassed villains. He receivev competition only from Joker and Gorilla Grodd, who convince half of the villains to join them. He does fight the Joker until the battle was interrupted by an attack by Desaad's Parademons. After the attack, Luthor manages to get the villains off the planet with a makeshift teleporter, secretly powered by Neutron, Heatmonger, Plasmus, Warp, Thunder and Lightning. When called a "monster" by Thunder, Luthor claims it is the ones who sent them there who are the real monsters, and that he is the hero. He later sets the teleporter to self-destruct after he uses it, killing the attacking Parademons, and his living batteries.

Luthor associated with Libra's Secret Society of Super Villains and placed in its Inner Circle. Lex Luthor wanted Libra to prove himself, so Libra sends Clayface to blow up the Daily Planet building. As Lex Luthor attempts to ambush Libra after learning that he is a prophet of Darkseid, Luthor soon ends up surrounded by Justifiers. Libra tells Lex Luthor to make a final choice... swear an oath to Darkseid or become a mindless slave. Later, Lex Luthor witnessed Libra blaming Calculator for cracking the computer codes that will help the resistance. Luthor was silent on the matter and was picked to lead the rearguard action against the heroes at Blüdhaven. He assumed it as an honor, but he didn't look very pleased. A short time later, Libra figured out that Luthor had been the mole in the Society of Supervillains. Luthor, in league with Doctor Sivana, seemingly destroyed Libra and overturned the Anti-Life Equation being broadcast into the Justifiers' helmets.

Luthor ended up imprisoned for his crimes, but rather than going to jail, General Sam Lane had him serve out his sentence working for the secretive Project 7734. While still forced to wear chains, Luthor was assigned the job of accessing the knowledge stored within the captured Brainiac who had recently been defeated by Superman. Luthor successfully accessed Brainiac's brain and after Metallo and Reactron were taken to Kandor as prisoners of the Kryptonians who had now settled on Earth, he used Brainiac to reactivate the Coluans ship that was also being held in Kandor. Brainiac's robots attacked the Kryptonians, providing a distraction as Metallo and Reactron used their Kryptonite hearts to kill their captors and murder Zor-El.

After his success with Brainiac, Luthor was given the seemingly dead body of Doomsday, who had been defeated by the Kryptonians, to study as it had “potential”.

Luthor later manages to use Brainiac's connection to his ship to kill the soldiers assigned to watch him. Brainiac manages to free himself from Luthor's control, forcing him onboard the ship, and the two make their escape. The two are later shown to have entered into an alliance, with Brainiac promising Luthor the Earth when he is done with it. While reading newspapers to catch up on what happened during his imprisonment, Luthor learns of the resurrection of Superboy.

During the Blackest Night event, when word gets out that apparently everyone around the world are rising as undead Black Lanterns, Luthor isolates himself in his safehouse in fear of all the people he had murdered over the years seeking revenge on him. In Blackest Night Vol 1 6, it is seen that Luthor is being attacked in his safehouse by Black Lanterns, including his father. An Orange Lantern Ring arrives and attaches itself to Luthor, inducting him into the Orange Lantern Corps as a deputy member, only for him to attack Scarecrow and Mera to claim their Yellow Lantern Corps ring and Red Lantern Ring before his own was taken from him by Larfleeze, the only true member of the Orange Lantern Corps, who subsequently dismissively dropped Luthor in front of the other Lanterns (Sinestro noted that it was the first time Larfleeze had ever given anyone anything).

After the conclusion of the New Krypton event, Luthor grew more aggressive for the lust for power after his exposure to a power ring during the Blackest Night. After being infused with the Orange Light of Avarice, Luthor begins a universal quest to locate the energy of the Black Lantern Corps.

During the midst of the Brightest Day, Deathstroke and his new team of Titans are hired to assassinate Luthor while he is visiting Midway City with Nava Mendelssohn, his new personal assistant and bodyguard. When the Titans ambush Lex's convoy and begin killing his hired mercenaries, Nava takes him into the sewers, where she is shot and apparently killed by Deathstroke. It is then revealed that Luthor himself had paid the Titans to fake an attempt on his life, in hopes that it would draw out conspirators within LexCorp. Nava's injuries soon heal, and she reveals herself to be a shapeshifter named Facade, who had murdered and impersonated the real Nava in order to get close enough to Lex to kill him. After a massive battle, Deathstroke and Osiris are able to defeat Facade and turn him over to Lex. In the end, LexCorp scientists are shown performing experiments on the captured Facade. Luthor assembles his staff and reveals that he knows that it was one of his employees who had hired the creature in the first place. Luthor warns them not to try such a tactic again, as he will turn them into his next morbid experiment if they do.

With the aid of a robotic duplicate of Lois Lane created to give him an honest opinion on his actions, Luthor searched for the energy of the Black Lantern in space. In doing so he sent Doomsday 'clones' created from the original to distract Earth's heroes. There Luthor encountered Brainiac in while attempting to alter the last of the Black Lantern energy, acting upon an unspoken theory of his. Brainiac revealed that Loisbot was an unwilling pawn in his bid to hijack Luthor's quest. Luthor then replied that he had anticipated this for some time, he then attacked Brainiac and snapped his neck, temporarily incapacitating him. Loisbot pleaded for Lex's forgivness, and he accepted her apology. After he altered the four remaining black spheres, he opened a Phantom Zone portal which unleashed an extremely powerful, monstrously large being which intended to kill all life in the universe because the negative emotions of sentient creatures hurt it. Luthor promptly impaled Loisbot's head, allowing himself to be infected with Kryptonian technology. He used it to engage the monster on a mental plane of existence. Grappling with the creature, Luthor's body and mental essence suddenly fused with it. Luthor learned that it evolved in the Phantom Zone and now seeks to escape from the grief and anger of the Zone prisoners. Using this new power, Luthor draws Superman to him, attempting to drive Superman mad by forcing him to experience the human emotions that he believes the alien merely fakes to blend in. However, Luthor is outraged when he learns that Superman's defining moment of tragedy is the loss of his father, confirming his true identity as Clark Kent. Luthor is unable to cope with the fact that not only was his greatest enemy raised by humans, but he also had a father he would actually mourn rather than the anguish Luthor endured in his own relationship with his father. As Luthor becomes one with the creature, Superman and Mr. Mind, who had been aiding Luthor's search, realize that the creature allows Luthor to create a feeling of peace and bliss throughout the entire universe at the cost of never allowing him to cause any harm to another being at the same time. Superman attempts to appeal to Luthor about the potential of doing something even he never accomplished, but Luthor is unable to let go of his hate for Superman, his subsequent attack costing him control of the entity, as well as his memory of everything he learned or did while he was merged with it. It departs for another part of the universe. Luthor is ultimately defeated when he falls into one of the Phantom Zone holes created by the creature, seemingly forever.
