HISTORY:
Libby Lawrence operated as the "mystery woman" known as Liberty Belle during World War II, marrying her fellow All-Star Squadron member Johnny Chambers (Johnny Quick). Sometime after the war, though, her marriage to Johnny dissolved in a divorce, and she retired her identity as a superhero to live as Jonathan Law's (Tarantula) paramour as he struggled to write a new novel to follow up on the success of Behind The Mask. In 1949, Lawrence found fame as a television news commentator, which ended up driving a wedge between her relationship with Law, whose struggles with writer's block and alcoholism were now hitting rock bottom and was taking his frustrations out on her.

In 1950, Lawrence along with Law and her former husband Chambers attended the rally in Washington, D.C. where all costumed superheroes were to appear by Presidential decree to show their loyalty. During the rally, Joan Dale (Miss America) publicly exposed Tex Thompson as being the Ultra-Humanite and attempted to also expose Dynaman as being Adolf Hitler in Daniel Dunbar's body when the Ultra-Humanite had Robert Crane (Robotman) silence her by murdering her in public. Rex Tyler (Hourman) took over for Joan Dale in the exposure of both Thompson and Dunbar, causing Dynaman to show his true colors and to attack the various superheroes present. When most of the gathered superheroes failed to stop Dynaman, Chambers became Johnny Quick once more to attempt stopping him, but also fell, only to be awakened by Lawrence as Liberty Belle who comforted him. Out of desperation, he brought forth Ted Knight (Starman) with his experimental new cosmic rod that he was going to use against Dynaman, but it was easily snapped in two. Nevertheless, Lawrence used a broken piece of the rod and jammed it through Dynaman's weakened body, causing him to be electrocuted to death.

Some years later, Libby Lawrence is reunited and living with her ex-husband in the San Fernando Valley, with Chambers considering re-tying the knot with her.

HISTORY:
Garth Ranzz was born the second of three children on the planet Winath. When he was fourteen years old, Garth and his brother Mekt and twin-sister Ayla, attended a party on an alien planet. Returning home, their shuttlecraft malfunctioned and they crashed on the planet Korbal. They discovered that their ship had run out of power and that its engines needed to be recharged. Garth lured a herd of Lightning Beasts towards the craft hoping to use their electrical discharges to repower the ship. The animals' energy bursts struck the teens however and not the ship, imbuing all three of them with the ability to generate electricity. Garth, Ayla and Mekt used their powers to recharge the ship's engines and return home.

A short time later, Mekt Ranzz mysteriously disappeared into the underworld of the galaxy, and Garth set out to try to find him. He boarded a shuttle en route to the planet Earth where upon he met Rokk Krinn of Braal and Imra Ardeen of Titan. Also on the shuttle was R.J. Brande – a wealthy industrialist who claimed to be the third richest man in the galaxy. Garth and Rokk immediately bonded with one another, but Imra felt that the two of them were little more than childish boys. When the shuttle reached Earth, an assassin attempted to murder Brande, but Garth, Rokk and Imra used their respective powers to save the older man's life.

Brande was so impressed with the teens' bravery, that he petitioned the United Planets to form a Legion of Super-Heroes – an ever-growing cosmic team inspired by the exploits of 20th century teen super-heroes Superboy and Supergirl. Garth Ranzz became a charter member of the team using the name Lightning Boy. Eventually they would travel backwards in time to the 20th Century to met Superboy and Supergirl and welcome them into their ranks. By this point, Garth had stopped using the name Lightning Boy and became known as Lightning Lad – a code name that he would maintain throughout most of his career.

Disaster struck the young Legionnaire down only a short time later. Imra Ardeen (now known as Saturn Girl) learned of the pressing threat of a villain known as Zaryan the Conqueror. She also knew a Legionnaire was fated to die in combat against Zaryan. As team leader, Saturn Girl was unwilling to allow any other Legionnaire to die, so she suspended everyone on the team, in the hopes that she would be the one to fall before Zaryan's might. Lightning Lad ignored his suspension however and fought with Zaryan. Although he succeeded in destroying the villain's ship, Zaryan managed to fire a freeze-blast that killed the young Legionnaire. Shortly thereafter, Garth's sister Ayla adopted the name Lightning Lass and took her brother's place on the team.

Mon-El, a fellow Legionnaire only recently freed from exile in the Phantom Zone, discovered a way to bring Garth back to life. The plan involved going to Lightning World and channeling the power of a massive lightning bolt into a specially designed Daxamite rod that would resurrect the fallen Legionnaire. However, such a plan would come at great cost, as whoever was holding the lightning rod at the point of impact would be killed.

The Legion decided that the plan was worth the risk and they brought Garth's body to Lightning World. Rather than let a single hero volunteer to sacrifice themselves, they instead allowed fate to decide for them. Each Legionnaire present held an identical lightning rod, prepared to give their lives for Garth if need be. Saturn Girl, once again decided to sacrifice herself for the sake of Garth Ranzz. She replaced her rod with one made of Duralim, a highly conductive metal, increasing her chances of being struck down rather than another Legionnaire. Saturn Girl never had the opportunity to risk her own life however. At the last minute, Chameleon Boy's pet, Proty, morphed into the form of Saturn Girl and used her Duralim rod in the ritual. A giant bolt of lightning struck the rod, resurrecting Lightning Lad, but at the cost of Proty's life.

Shortly after his daughters Dacey and Dorritt were born, his sister Ayla stumbled upon a secret that Garth had been keeping: he wasn't Garth at all, but Proty. Proty's consciousness had been transferred into Garth's body and was the cause of Lightning Lad's resurrection. Being a former telepath as Proty, Garth was able to protect his thoughts from his telepathic wife about the matter. Garth assisted Legionnaires past and present in hunting down Glorith and Mordru to save Cosmic Boy. Zero Hour then happened and Garth and the other Legionnaires sacrificed themselves to save the timestream and create a new reality.

Lightning Lad rejoined the Legion as a full-time member. Unfortunately, due to Legion bylaws which prohibited members with similar powers from being on the team together, Ayla Ranzz' spot on the roster was now forfeit. Ayla managed to stay in the Legion however, as her powers altered only a short time later.

Never a stranger to tragedy, Garth experienced his next great loss only a few short years later. Picking up a distress call from a passing cargo ship, Lightning Lad investigated the scene and came into conflict with a giant creature colloquially known as the Super-Moby Dick of Space. Fighting the mineral-eating monstrosity, Lightning Lad fired his electric bolts at the creature, but they reflected off it, transforming into a poisonous current that struck Garth in the arm. Returning to the Legion Clubhouse, Garth was forced to amputate his arm to stave off further infection. He replaced the missing limb with a cybernetic prosthetic, which greatly amplified his electrical discharge powers. Consumed with a need for revenge, Lightning Lad tracked down the Super-Moby Dick and blasted it with 100 times the amount of power normally at his disposal. The power blast reduced the creature in size, rendering it harmless.
It was during this time that Garth and Imra Ardeen grew closer together and eventually fell in love. On one mission, the two were forced to stage a faux wedding and retire from the Legion, enabling three Murran alien spies to take their place under the names Blackout Boy, Magnetic Kid and Size Lad. Garth and Imra knew of the spies' presence and agreed to the plan in order to draw them out. Although the mission was a success, both Garth and Imra were upset that their marriage was not real.

Over time, Lightning Lad came under the thrall of Prince Evillo and forced to join his Devil's Dozen. Garth regained control of his mind, and rebelled against Evillo. One of Evillo's scientists, Dr. Zan Orbal, used his scientific wizardry to restore Lightning Lad's missing arm.

As they grew older, Garth and Imra married in earnest and gave birth to twin children. What neither of them realized at the time however, was that the galactic despot Darkseid had taken one of their twins at birth and performed experiments on him, transforming him into a mutated aberration. Darkseid then shunted the mutated child back in time five years where he became the Fatal Five member known as Validus. It was years before Garth and Imra ever learned the truth about their missing son. Their second child however, Graym Ranzz proved to be a healthy baby boy, and Garth and Imra retired from active service to raise their son.

They both returned to the Legion however and continued to fight up against threats such as the Fatal Five, Computo, Darkseid and the Legion of Super-Villains.

Although the Legion survived the Crisis mostly unscathed, the Time Trapper took advantage of the chaos to isolate and weaken the Legion, making them believe her fellow Superboy wasn't the the real one and forget about her recently fallen member Supergirl. Even so, the Legion endured.

However, during the "Five Year Gap", Earth's government became hostile to the Legion, and Garth became incapacitated from the Validus plague which ravaged his native Winath. Disillusioned by the government and feeling needed more at home, his wife resigned from the Legion. Garth and Imra returned to Winath and took over running a Winathian Lightning Ring plantation, which became quite prosperous. Using their new-found wealth, Imra and Garth replaced their super-heroism with simple but necessary helping of others, feeding a galaxy suffering more from hunger than from super-villains. When the Legion re-formed in 2994, the Ranzzes helped them out, but did not rejoin. Instead, they enlarged their family with the birth of daughters Dacey and Dorritt.

Garth's final adventure with the Legion involved the Time Trapper, the conclusion of which resulted in the destruction of the Legion of Super-Heroes timeline in a cosmic crisis brought back by a Hal Jordan mind-controlled by Parallax.

Nevertheless, the events other Crisis unleashed by Superboy Prime and Alex Luthor restored the Legion with a slightly altered history as evidenced by the trip of six Legionnaires to the time present. Once again, Garth, Imra and Rokk formed a super-hero team backed by RJ Brande[12] and travelled back to the past to induct Superboy. They also recruited the next Superboy, and Garth talked Brainiac-5 into inducting Supergirl into the team when the Kryptonian girl landed in the 30th century.

Unfortunately, xenophobia started spreading through the galaxy because of manipulations of the Time Traper and the efforts of Earth-Man. The Legion agreed the future was becoming too dangerous for Superboy and they would not visit him again after the war against the Anti-Monitor.

The witch hunt led by Earth-Man and sponsored by the Earth Government forced the Legion's founding members to go underground. Imra and Garth's children also went missing during that period. As a result of it, Garth became very short-tempered and snappy for a while. It was when Superman returned and rejoined the Legion that their situation started to look up.

Once Earth-Man was taken down, Lightning Lad took Superman back his own time personally. As they were whiling away in the Fortress of Solitude, recalling old times when they were two teenagers hanging out and getting into trouble together, Batman showed up to tell them two Legionnaires had been found dead in Gotham. Garth took his friends' bodies back to the future while wondering who was trying to destroy the Legion this time.

Earth-Man had been defeated, but tension between the Legion and the United Planets was still high. The UP Government looked to shut the Legion down, and Garth was sick of dealing with them putting his friends down and then crawling back every time a super-villain struck the UP.

Superboy-Prime ending up in the 30th century and freeing the Legion of Super-Villains forced the Legion to recall Superman and bring two Legions of different timelines to her own universe. Imra found herself teaming up with two different Saturn Girls.

Garth teamed up with the two other incarnations of him, Live Wire and the other Lightning Lad to save the 30th Century from Superboy-Prime.

During the final battle in Vanishing Point, Lightning Lad, Cosmic Boy and Saturn Girl combined their powers to summon Legionnaires of every time and universe and with their assistance defeating the Time Trapper for good.

HISTORY:
Ayla Ranzz was born the third of three children on the planet Winath. When she was fourteen years old, Ayla and his twin-brother Garth and his big brother Mekt, attended a party on an alien planet. Returning home, their shuttlecraft malfunctioned and they crashed "lightning world" of Korbal. They discovered that their ship had run out of power and that its engines needed to be recharged. Garth lured a herd of Lightning Beasts towards the craft hoping to use their electrical discharges to repower the shipbut the bio-electricity released by the creatures altered their physiology giving imbuing all three of them with the ability to generate electricity. Garth, Ayla and Mekt used their powers to recharge the ship's engines and return home.

Ayla originally joined the Legion of Super-Heroes disguised as her brother Garth, claiming to be her brother back from the dead, after his death at the hands of Zaryan the Conqueror. Ayla was soon discovered, but she was admitted into the Legion of Super-Heroes as Lightning Lass.

Eventually fellow Legionnaire Mon-El discovered a way to bring Garth back to life. The plan involved going to Lightning World and channeling the power of a massive lightning bolt into a specially designed Daxamite rod that would resurrect the fallen Legionnaire. However, such a plan would come at great cost, as whoever was holding the lightning rod at the point of impact would be killed. Ayla and other five Legionnaires volunteered to sacrifice themselves. At the last minute, Chameleon Boy's pet, Proty, morphed into the form of Saturn Girl and sacrificed himself to bring Ayla's brother back.

Lightning Lad rejoined the Legion as a full-time member. Unfortunately, due to Legion bylaws which prohibited members with similar powers from being on the team together, Ayla had to resign. She rejoined the team only a short time later when Dream Girl helped her change her Electrokinetic powers to Gravity Manipulation powers similar to Starboy using the science of planet Naltor Ayla changed her name to Light Lass.

Ayla served loyally the Legion for a long while, entering a relationship with fellow Legionnaire Timber Wolf and fighting Darkseid's bid for more universal rule. Sadly, the endless conflict and battles worn Ayla down, and she quit the team. Timber Wolf felt he couldn't give up the Legion, and Ayla broke up with him before taking off for parts unknown. Her brother Garth didn't ask where she went to, feeling she had earned her right to peace and quiet.

Ayla came back her Winathian hometown to live as a normal farmer. Unfortunately she was found by a member of the Legion of Super-Villains and brought before Lightning Lord. Her eldest brother jailed her to force her into joining him. When she refused him over and again Lightning Lord threw a fit, blasted her with his full power and left her for dead. Still his attack accidentally caused Ayla's original powers to come back. She broke out of her cell and defeated several members of the Legion of Super-Villains before landing their ship on Orando to deal with the rest. Her brother Mekt faced her again but she defeated him decisively.

Later Ayla entered into a long-term relationship with fellow Legionnaire Shrinking Violet.

However her and the whole Legion's existence appeared to be erased when a cosmic crisis brought back by a Hal Jordan mind-controlled by Parallax destroyed the Legion timeline.

Still the next cosmic upheavals restored a slightly altered version of the future of the Legion. In the new reality, Earth-Man's campaign to destroy the Legion ensured the spreading of the xenophobia and the relationship between the Legion and the United Planets government becoming greatly strained.

At that point, Superboy-Prime ended up in the 30th century and freed the Legion of Super-Villains, forcing the Legion to recall Superman and bring two Legions of different timelines to her own universe. Ayla teamed up with two versions of herself and three versions of her brother to bring Bart Allen from back before rejoining the fight against the army of super-villains.

- From the Wiki: Mekt Ranzz, alais Lightning Lord hails from the farming world of Winath. He is an enemy of the Legion of Super-Heroes and a founding member of the Legion of Super-Villains. Mekt is the older brother of two Legionnaires, both Lightning Lad and Light Lass.

Mekt Ranzz was born the first of three children on the planet Winath. In Winathian society, it was common for parents to give birth to twins, but Mekt was born an only child - a fact that later made him an outcast in Winathian social circles. When he was still a young child, Mekt's parents gave birth to twins, Garth and Ayla. Years later, when all three were teenagers, they attended a party on an alien planet. Returning home, their shuttle craft malfunctioned and they crashed on the planet Korbal. They discovered that their ship had run out of power and that its engines needed to be recharged. Garth Ranzz lured a herd of Lightning Beasts towards the craft hoping to use their electrical discharges to power the ship. The animals' energy bursts struck the teens however and not the ship, imbuing all three of them with the ability to generate electricity. Mekt, Garth and Ayla used their powers to recharge the ship's engines and return home.

Following this incident, Mekt quickly withdrew from society and disappeared into the galactic underground. Garth had no idea what fate had befallen his brother, and began searching neighboring star systems in the hopes of finding him. It was on this search that Garth met Rokk Krinn and future wife Imra Ardeen shortly before the formation of the Legion of Super-Heroes.

Mekt however, still scornful for not having a twin, continued to develop a more antisocial personality and this resentment ultimately led him to a life of crime. When next he resurfaced, he had aligned himself with similarly-minded individuals known as the Cosmic King and Saturn Queen. Calling himself Lightning Lord (a pastiche of his brother's code name Lightning Lad), he helped to establish the Legion of Super-Villains.

Lightning Lord and his villainous Legionnaires clashed with the Legion of Super-Heroes many times over the years, the rivalry between his brother and he growing stronger with each conflict. When Ayla Ranzz came of age and began calling herself Lightning Lass, Mekt tried unsuccessfully on numerous occasions to seduce her into a criminal lifestyle. Mekt's mental instability not withstanding, he actually cared very deeply for his sister, and only tried to corrupt her so that he could be closer to her.

KNOWN POWERS:
Immortality: thanks to the gypsy spell that gave Lilith her vampiric aspect, Lilith is now virtually immortal. Even if her body is destroyed, her mind can inhabit any 'innocent' woman that wanted her father dead.
  • Invulnerability: Gd/10
  • Regeneration: Ex/20
Creature of the Night:
  • Hypnosis: Lilith can hypnotize mere mortals by making eye contact with them. This is the only action she can perform in a turn, and victims are allowed a Psyche FEAT against Am/50 intensity to resist. If successful, hypnotized victims will do anything short of suicide.
  • Summoning: Lilith can, with a successful Psyche FEAT roll, summon her Psyche rank number in bats, rats, mice, dogs, or wolves, which will obey her every command.
  • Telepathy: Lilith can communicate with anyone she has bitten telepathically, with global range. This worked whether the victim was still mortal, or has risen as a vampire from death.
  • Transformation: Lilith has the power to change her form as listed here:
    • Mists: Lilith could fly at FB speed, and could 'leak' through tiny cracks and openings. Lilith could transform some of her body into mist, instead of all of it.
    • Normal-Sized Bat: Lilith could Fly at PR speed, and could make PR (4) Edged Attacks (no Kills).
  • Weather Control: making a Red Psyche FEAT roll, Lilith can induce several changes in local weather patterns, such as thick fog, lightning, snow, rain, etc... Such changes are very draining, and prevent Lilith from using any other vampiric powers for 1d10 hours.
Vampire Bite: Lilith doesn't have to feed upon blood, but she does like to. This bite does Ty/6 edged damage and injects vampiric ichor that, if the victim dies of blood loss, will force him to rise anew as a vampire in three days’ time.

TALENTS: Occult Lore.

CONTACTS: Lilith has no known contacts. She is opposed to the efforts of Dracula and Doctor Strange.

HISTORY: Dracula and Zofia were married through an arrangement made by his father. However, Dracula despised her While Lilith was still an infant, Dracula made her look upon a group of impaled prisoners. A year after Lilith was born, with his father dead, Dracula cast them out. Lilith was given to the care of a gypsy woman named Gretchin. Zofia killed herself rather than live as a peasant.

Lilith grew up with intense hatred for Dracula. Now a vampire, Dracula attacked Gypsy villages, killing Gretchin's son Arni. In retaliation, Gretchin used spells to transform Lilith into a vampire, making her immune to most of their weaknesses and ensuring she would trouble her father for eternity.

While at first she attacked humans indiscriminately, she later decided to only attack those targeted by Dracula. After a number of such occurrences, Dracula impaled Lilith on a spike in London as retaliation.

At some point the two attempted to reconcile, but soon began to quarrel again. Quincy Harker staked Lilith after the death of his wife Elizabeth.

After possessing a woman named Angel O'Hara, Lilith moved to New York. She slew a number of criminals who had committed crimes against women, amongst them the killer of Martin Gold's former girlfriend.

Dracula, in a weakened state, tracked her down. Lilith was prepared after recognizing him from a photo. (Due to Dracula's weakened state he was now visible in mirrors). The two battled as a theatrical production of Dracula's life took place.

Knowing he was weak and watching as Dracula had killed a number of his London servants out of anger, she sought a way to separate herself from Angel. She seduced a descendant of Gretchin's, who then through magic helped her return to her original body. She then attacked Dracula savagely, but found herself unable to kill him despite his taunts for her to do so. Dracula mocked her, then transformed into mist and left.

As the X-Men confronted Dracula over Storm, Shadowcat (who was angry at her parents' divorce) was temporarily possessed by Lilith. She began to recite the Montesi Formula but was stopped. Dracula was defeated and Lilith released Kitty, thanking the X-Men for their assistance.

When Doctor Strange used the Montesi Formula, Lilith sensed Dracula's death; Happy, she was soon killed by the formula as well.

When Dracula returned, so did Lilith. However, she found her craving for blood had become stronger. She sought out Brother Voodoo for help. In return for helping him, Drumm asked that she assist him in battling the Scarecrow. During the battle, Lilith's bloodlust again went out of control. She abandoned Drumm, John Blaze and Ghost Rider as they battled the Scarecrow.

Now calling herself Lily Drake, Lilith gained control of Zombie and began using him to gather servants she would turn into vampires. She also sought out Morbius to lead her forces. Both Spider-Man (who was looking for Morbius) and Hannibal King (who was looking for Zombie) opposed her. Zombie was freed and her vampires were destroyed in the sun.

Angry, Lilith returned to Castle Dracula, looking for a means to indirectly slay her father. With the help of researcher Charles Seward, she found a blood virus that would make the blood unable to be consumed by vampires and caused them to rapidly age and weaken. Humans exposed to it would bleed uncontrollably and die.

Dracula was shot with the virus by Lilith. Horrified at what he saw, Seward began working on a cure and admitted the truth to Dracula. Seward then attempted to inject Lilith, who broke his neck. Dracula battled Lilith, who staked him. Noticing that Seward was unaffected by the virus (he had injected himself with the cure), Dracula fed on him and was restored. He called upon a powerful storm which eradicated the virus. Both Lilith and Dracula claimed they had met their goals.

Lilith is believed to have been temporarily weakened by the Hellphyr. She, like many other supernatural beings, was also conscripted by S.H.I.E.L.D. into the Howling Commandos.

- Ever have a character that you absolutely hate? Yeah. That's Lobo to me. I don't know what it is but I hate everything about this guy. It even goes beyond the character to his stories, the way he's drawn... literally everything about him pisses me off for some reason.

HISTORY:
Lobo, whose name means "one who devours your entrails and thoroughly enjoys it," is the last of his people for one reason: he killed them all. He hailed from the planet Czarnia which was a virtual paradise that knew nothing of war and the Czarnians were almost immortal. When Lobo was born, his evil was so frighteningly apparent, the nurse who delivered him went insane and became the planet's first mental patient in ten millennia after the infant Lobo chewed off four of her fingers. Lobo knew he was one of a kind, but he wanted even more. Inspired by the idea of genocide, Lobo created a swarm of lethal scorpion-like creatures, he set them on his people wiping out his entire species but himself. He claimed it was a science project and gave himself an 'A'. Since then he has traveled the galaxies collecting bounties. Despite his ruthless nature, Lobo has a strict code of honor when it comes to these agreements. Along the way he has met and battled a number of superheroes.

Lobo played an important role in the Citadel War, in his capacity as a bounty hunter. He was hired by the Citadel's human agent Harry Hokum to capture the Euphorian known as Kalista in a bid to learn the secret behind her home world's planetary shield. Along with fellow bounty hunters Bedlam and Berserk, he raided the mothership belonging to the Omega Men, where upon he engaged in combat with Kalista. Soon after, Harry Hokum hired Lobo once again, this time to assassinate the Omega Men's interim leader Tigorr. Lobo never had the opportunity to complete the contract however.

After the Citadel War ended, Lobo was then hired by Kalista's husband Primus to help them infiltrate a Citadel prison facility and free several of Primus' captured allies. During the prison break, Lobo killed the supreme commander of the surviving Citadel military forces.

Lobo made his first appearance on the planet Earth when he was hired by Manga Khan to take out the newly formed Justice League International. But after Big Barda teleported Lobo across the galaxy, Lobo landed on Earth smack in the Justice League Embassy. After a brief altercation with Guy Gardner, Lobo hung around, pretending to be a friend, waiting for the right moment. But before he could act, Manga Khan canceled his contract.

For a such a fierce bounty hunter and a loner, Lobo still held a few surprises under his brash exterior. He would prove to be more a team player than anyone would think. He kept a secret pod of pet Space Dolphins that he cared for. When one of the dolphins was killed, Lobo tracked the perpetrators to Vril Dox II's newly formed band of freedom fighters, the L.E.G.I.O.N.

Lobo single handily crippled the entire team, but was halted by Vril Dox II, who offered to provide protection for the Space Dolphins in exchange for Lobo's service in the L.E.G.I.O.N. Lobo accepted and accompanied the new team to Cairn, known galaxy wide as the "drug world." There the team dismantled the drug lords' empire by sheer brains and brawn. Vril Dox II also took advantage of Lobo's ability to multiply, which helped them destroy the remainder of Cairn's opposing rulers. During this mission, Dox secretly poisoned Lobo and his clones. Lobo was depowering, lost his ability to multiply, and his clones were destroyed. It was later revealed that one of Lobo's clones escaped to the planet Kannit.

During Lobo's service in the L.E.G.I.O.N., it was clear that he held no personal love for any of his teammates. He followed Vril Dox II's orders out of some sense of honor, but did not hesitate to break both of Garryn Bek's legs. But even Vril Dox II was not immune. When Vril Dox II was raped and killed by Stealth, he too was cloned. Lobo took advantage of Vril Dox II's vulnerability and attempted to kill the clone in order to be free from his pact.

Lobo was sent on an undercover mission to bring down a formidable opponent: the space pirate Dagon-Ra of the planet Trom whose natives have the power to transmute matter. He joined Dagon-Ra's crew and lead a successful mutiny against him.

Draaga found an intergalactic taxi driver to take him to Earth to get revenge on Superman. Just as they left the bar, Lobo arrived. Lobo was boozing it up at the bar when he heard two aliens in a bar corner discussing the odds of Draaga's return battle with Superman. Lobo got involved in the conversation, and the aliens got Lobo drunk enough to where he excepted a bet that he could kill Superman. Lobo, along with the bar's delivery guy Raof and Bibbo Bibbowski, traveled to the Fortress of Solitude, but Superman wasn't there. While the three were tooling around inside, Superman arrived. Lobo attacked Superman, and the two brawled through the Fortress. Superman escaped to a Kryptonian exo-suit he had, and battled Lobo outside while wearing the suit. Lobo blew the suit up with missiles from his spacehog, and Lobo and Bibbow presumed Superman dead. They then collapsed, both very drunk. It turned out that Superman was safe inside the Fortress, and had faked his death inside the suit.

Lord Manga Kahn accidentally captured space-dolphins belonging to Lobo, who came looking for them. After an altercation, Lobo recruited Mister Miracle to help him find his space-dolphins on Mogo.

Guy Gardner had to get back on his feet after his fight with Hal Jordan for Sector 2814, so he tried crimefighting ringless. When that didn't work, he enlisted the help of Lobo to go with him to Qward to get Sinestro's ring. Guy and Lobo then retrieved the ring.
Lobo eventually got into a fight with Guy, over the events on Qward.

Lobo was hired by Lord Manga Kahn to take in Despero. Despero had been currently running rampant on Earth. Lobo tried to take the monster in, but met fierce resistance from the Justice League International and the Justice League Europe. Lobo, the JLE, and the newly formed Conglomerate all launched a frontal assault on Despero, but the monster was able to fend them all off. But Kilowog and L-Ron arrived, and Kilowog accidentally uploaded L-Ron's consciousness into Despero's head. Lord Manga Kahn then paid Lobo his fee for helping take down Despero, and also offered to finance the reconstruction of Times Square.

At one point, Lobo went back to Earth to prove that he was still better than Superman, even though Superman was resurrected. Along the way, Lobo destroyed a planet called Thanotopsia, which attracted the attention of a group of aliens that followed Lobo to Earth where Lobo confronted Superman in Metropolis. After a battle, Superman punched Lobo into orbit, and Lobo landed on the alien ship where he was attacked by a number of robot bounty hunters. Superman took out the disintegration cannon on the ship and hauled it away from Earth. Superman then caught back up to the ship and helped Lobo defeat the bounty hunters. Lobo then decided to not fight Superman anymore since Superman helped him out.

When Vril Dox II later hired Lobo to transport a prisoner to him safe and alive, Lobo thought that the transport normally wouldn't be more than a boring job. It turns out the prisoner in question is not only the person who wrote the book on Lobo, but was also his fourth grade teacher, Miss Tribb. The Legion Of Decency, a group of old women who want to kill Miss Tribb for writing such a nasty book; a group of truckers, after an altercation at a truck stop; the Dnedia Police S.W.A.T. Team after Lobo killed their chief; and the Pan-Galactic Demolition Dance Company after having to get Miss Tribb from their show and slaughtering many of their dance troop were among the groups of enemies Lobo were being tracked by. The only people on his side were a gang calling themselves the Sons of Lobo, not that he cares or even knows.

While each of the groups have their reasons for wanting Lobo and Miss Tribb dead, he eventually falls into the hands of The Orthography Commandos who seek to remove the ignorant and functionally illiterate from the universe. They have a special way of eliminating these so called unwanted by holding a spelling bee. Lobo was smarter than he lets on, especially when he's given words to spell that he likes, such as "Genocide", for example. Things go his way until he makes the mistake of telling these people that Miss Tribb is a teacher. Eventually, Lobo loses his patience with these people and kills them all. Unfortunately, after this situation was sorted out with violence, he contacts Vril Dox II and tells him he's taking a vacation on Revel-7. He does this over an unsecured line and it draws everyone to him like flies.

One world wide riot and massive body count later, Lobo delivers Miss Tribb to Vril Dox II, alive and well, but as soon as Vril receives the old woman, Lobo fixes things so that he is, once again, is the Last Czarnian.

Lobo eventually turned his back on his violent ways and became an archbishop in the First Celestial Church of the Triple Fish-God. He became a protector of sorts to a massive colony of refugees from Sector 3500 and also gained possession of the Emerald Eye of Ekron.
He happened to arrive in an asteroid field just in time to kill Devilance, rescuing Animal Man, Adam Strange, and Starfire, who were stranded in space. Starfire negotiated a deal with him, in which he would help them out of their predicament if they helped him with his problems. After helping the heroes defeat Lady Styx, he brought the Emerald Eye to the triple-headed fish god, who agreed to release Lobo from his vow of non-violence in exchange. When told that the Emerald Eye was the only thing that can kill the fish god, Lobo blasted him with it.

After the battle on Apokolips, Lobo's soul was sent to Hell. Lobo's suffering was enough to power Neron's entire region of Hell. When the demons Etrigan and Blue Devil went on a rampage through Hell to seek revenge on Neron, they accidentally freed Lobo from his prison. In order to buy time to fully recover before battling Czarnian, Etrigan stole Blue Devil's soul and told him he would have to fight Lobo to get it back. Lobo however during his rampage through the underworld cut off the magician Zatara's head, which angered his daughter, Zatanna who engaged in an intense battle with him before paralyzing him in place to escape with her team.

Lobo appeared on Earth to capture a bounty on the Red Lantern Atrocitus's head. After battling Hal Jordan, Carol Ferris and Sinestro, he left without finishing his job. The mystery of his retreat is revealed as the fight was all staged by Atrocitus in order for the latter to gain the trust of the New Guardians. As a payment, Lobo was given a Red Power Ring.

Still using the Red Power Ring, Lobo was recruited by Vril Dox II, who requires his help battling Brainiac and Pulsar Stargrave. Due to the fact that the Space Church that Lobo oversaw was spending more money than it was taking in, Lobo needed to work for Vril Dox as his personal enforcer. Even losing his Spacehog, Lobo saves the planet Colu, but Brainiac and Pulsar Stargrave escaped.[38]
Lobo later battled Altin Ad'Ms, the Green Lantern of Sector 2828, to a stand still. He was later tricked into thinking that there was another Czarnian still alive, but Astrild Storm-Daughter, using pheromones to confuse Lobo, for this trick he later killed Astrild.[39]

After tracking Astrild's origins to the Psion Homeworld he would go toe to toe with Smite, her friend and ally. The fight would only pause because Lobo was winning and wanted to get drunk instead of fighting. Lobo and Smite go to a bar and share a drink and war stories. He then explains to Smite he shouldn't be mad at him, he should be mad at Starro. Lobo and Smite then attack the now helpless Starro.

- I'll do her stats as a vampire later. :)

- From the Wiki: Emily Briggs was a mousy bank teller who lived a quiet life with her husband in Gotham City. That all changed when she was kidnapped by people from the underground civilization known as Abyssia. The Outsiders set out to rescue Emily, but after a battle with the people of Abyssia, Emily's heritage as part of their race was revealed to her and as Halley's Comet passed by the Earth, Emily underwent a metahuman transformation to regain her heritage, which in turn made her more conventionally attractive. With her new appearance, Emily also gained special powers and abilities and she started calling herself Looker.

After leaving Abyssia to its people, Emily returned with the Outsiders and an astonished husband. She soon took on the name "Lia" as well as a more confident, yet self-centered, personality.

Emily's first outing as Looker occurred after the Outsiders had been captured by the Masters of Disaster. After defeating the Masters of Disaster, she freed the Outsiders and was welcomed into their ranks.

Her first tenure with the Outsiders showed how much the mousy Emily Briggs had changed, as she became obsessed with her beauty, something that usually created some tension between her and Katana. The tension was only heightened with the budding friendship between Looker and Halo, where the more free-spirited Looker was in sharp contrast with Halo's stricter legal guardian, Katana.

Looker shows a deep current of intelligence, when she defeats an intelligent virus inhabiting her then-friend Doctor Jace. The sentient virus, believing that Looker was injecting Jace with a vaccine to which Jace was allergic, fled the body and died upon contact with the air. The vaccine was in fact, harmless glucose and Looker herself was already immune because she was not allergic. Unfortunately, Jace would later go on to willingly betray the Outsiders to the alien Manhunters.

Looker's role as somewhat of an outsider among Outsiders continued to worsen, especially when Windfall joined, a former Master of Disaster and peer of Halo, and the two were constantly involved in a rivalry of sorts. On top of that, Looker started a short affair with the team-leader Geo-Force during a time that they were stranded on an island but which continued when they returned. Eventually though, there came a mutual decision to call it quits, it being unfair not only to Gregg (Looker's husband) but also to Denise (Geo-Force's girlfriend).

Some time later, Looker received a call for help from Abyssia. Traveling to the underground city, Looker discovered that Abyssia had been taken over. Looker invoked a challenge on the despot, and in the course of the battle, she was stripped of her beauty and much of her power. Shortly afterwards, Geo-Force disbanded the Outsiders, and Lia returned to her previous life in Gotham City.

Around this time, Looker learned that one of the Outsider's former enemies known as Lady Clay was impersonating her and creating chaos in Gotham. Looker went into action using a new costume to set herself apart from the impostor and she assisted Batman against the Mud Pack, a gathering of all criminals who've used the alias of Clayface. Looker's assistance was important as she saved Batman's mental healt and also stopped Basil Karlo, the original Clayface, once he had become the Ultimate Clayface, by overloading his powers and causing him to plunge downwards to Earth's core, where he remained trapped for years.

When Geo-Force's homeland Markovia was overrun with vampires, Emily's powers returned, and Looker was back in action alongside the Outsiders. An attempt by Queen Ioana to kill Geo-Force leads to Looker becoming a victim of their leader, Roderick. Having become a vampire, Looker's existing powers were joined by some new abilities. Due to previously being a metahuman, Emily was able to bypass some of the traditional vampiric weaknesses such as resistance to sunlight.

The Outsiders are forced to become fugitives, due to Roderick having framed Geo-Force for the murder of Queen Iona. Looker helps the team face many adversaries, including the new Batman, the Eradicator, Halo's alien relatives and Islamic super-terrorists. Once the vampires were defeated and the Outsider's names restored, the team 'unofficially' disbands. They now work solely out of Markovia, which Geo-Force now rules over. Served with divorce papers and now living under the vampiric curse, Lia has apparently broken all ties with her past life.

Lia at some point after this may have cut her ties with her vampire coven as well as she became more independent in her choice of actions. She eventually became one of the hosts of the television program The Scene. Her co-hosts included Vicki Vale, Tawny Young, and Linda Park. Two episodes were shown in which they interviewed Wonder Woman on her career. During taping Lia would wear a scarf around her neck to hide the vampire bite wounds.

Lia was last seen as Looker during the Battle of Metropolis, in which the heroes of the world fought against the assembled army of the Secret Society of Super-Villains. It appeared she was caught up in a massive explosion involving Breach, but she had a telekinetic shield around her body at the time.

She is later shown to have survived the encounter when she briefly aids Batman and the Outsiders in tracking down a mysterious alien conspiracy believed to have something to do with a rogue Parasite from the same universe as the ones who came to Earth during the events of Bloodlines

TALENTS: Business; Finance

CONTACTS: Business Community; WildCATS; Stormwatch

HISTORY:
Like the other Kherubim on Earth, Emp arrived on the planet when the Explorer ship he was traveling on crash-landed thousands of years ago, following an orbital battle with a Daemonite vessel (which was also brought down). The Kherubim mostly integrated themselves among the similar-looking humans, and for the next several centuries, they fought a secret war against the surviving Daemonites, who plotted to conquer their new world.

Over the centuries Emp was one of the leaders of the Kherubim, using a variety of aliases. In medieval times, Emp and his brother, Lord Entropy, fought side by side against the Daemonites. While battling the Daemonite Brannoch the Black, they killed Brannoch, but the Daemonite inside escaped and possessed Entropy's wife, Gwynith. Emp was forced to slay Gwynith and Entropy became mad with grief. He swore to avenge her and disappeared.

In the mid-twentieth century, Lord Emp was one of the founding members of Team One, along with several other notable Kherubim and human fighters (including Mister Majestic, Zealot, Mason, Regiment, Isaiah King (a.k.a. Despot), John Colt, Think Tank (Henry Bendix and Marc Slayton). They worked as a team for a number of missions, but eventually Emp fell foul of Helspont, one of the most powerful of the Daemonites. Helspont tried to slay him, but instead inflicted him with amnesia. Emp spent the next thirty years wandering New York as a vagrant, until Void tracked him down and told him about his past. Taking the identity of Jacob Marlowe, he quickly amassed a huge fortune, becoming a multi-billionaire, and together with Void he formed the modern WildC.A.T.s with the purpose of thwarting the Daemonite Cabal. Soon Lord Entropy abducted Emp and restored his memories with his Orb of Power. Emp confronted Entropy with the truth, but Entropy was still unable to accept it. The WildC.A.T.s came to his rescue and together they defeated Entropy.

When the team traveled to the Kherubim native world, Khera, he discovered that the social caste to which he made belonged, the Pantheon, had become corrupt. He became disillusioned with Khera, quitting the WildC.A.T.s, until Void made him forget the events on Khera.

After the team disbanded, Lord Emp decided to unleash all of his genetic potential, thus becoming a High Lord. In order to do this, his outward appearance was changed to appear more alien.

During this time, Emp restarted the WildC.A.T.s (calling them the Wildcats during this period) with Spartan, Grifter and the French weapons dealer Noir, to battle Kenyan, a man who Emp had granted immortality to decades ago. During the showdown with Kenyan, Emp tried to convince Kenyan to kill him since he had to rid himself of his corporeal form in order to ascend. Instead, Kenyan shot himself. Emp then asked Spartan to kill him. Spartan did as asked, and inherited Marlowe's fortune, his company, and even his alias, later moving Halo's headquarters from New York to Los Angeles. The other Kherubim do not consider Emp to be dead, believing that his soul lives on as a being of pure energy, at one with the universe.

Great stuff, Sidious. Not being familiar with the FASERIP system, I'd like to see some playtests of some these to see how it rolls.

Honestly, I'm not that good at writing up battles. I typically favor one side. If anyone would like to use the builds for one, please feel free to do so.

TALENTS: Military; Thief

CONTACTS: U.S. Military

HISTORY:
Sgt. Clifford Zmeck was a certified psychopath, court-martialed by the United States Air Force in 1969 and convicted of murder and rape. He was sentenced to life imprisonment, but Project Atom gave him a chance to be pardoned. Experiments had been performed the previous year by subjecting an alien metal to a nuclear blast with a test subject encapsulated by the metal. Nathaniel Adam was the first volunteer, and he was apparently killed by the blast, so Zmeck was given a triple layer of the alien metal to protect him before being subjected to a nuclear blast. The "Major Force Project" was deemed a failure after Zmeck was apparently killed in the blast. In truth, the force of the explosion had catapulted him into the quantum field and shot him decades forward in time. Zmeck re-entered the time-stream and found that the alien metal was now fused to his body, giving him superhuman powers. General Wade Eiling (current head of Project Atom) recruited Zmeck as a new operative. Zmeck was spirited to an Air Force base where scientists implanted remote-control devices under his skin that could keep him in line by releasing a nerve gas or exploding on command. Technicians laser-etched his alloy coating into a "costume," and he was given the code name Major Force. Major Force has been working as a government sanctioned superhero, but has proven to be dangerously reckless with his powers and brought him into conflict with his predecessor Captain Atom (Nathaniel Adam). Nevertheless, he distinguished himself in service during the invasion of Earth by the Dominators.

Ultimately, Major Force's unbalanced and sadistic tendencies clashed into the superhero community, in which he was responsible for the murder of Alexandra "Alex" DeWitt, the girlfriend of the then newest Green Lantern Kyle Rayner, and stuffed her remains in a refrigerator so that Rayner could find her. Rayner almost killed Major Force, but was stopped by forces of the Special Crimes Unit who then took Zmeck into custody.

Force would later kill a different Green Lantern, Arisia Rrab, a former Green Lantern at the time and friend of Green Lantern Guy Gardner. Force was confronted by a vengeful by Guy Gardner in Kyoto, Japan and was apparently killed. In reality, Force was made of energy and not matter, and thus he cannot die and was effectively immortal.

Force was later part of a Government Task Force led by Captain Atom in addition to Green Lantern John Stewart, Power Girl of the JSA, Starfire of the Teen Titans, Japanese superhero Katana and retired superhero Black Lightning. He was saddled with Captain Atom by then President Lex Luthor in order to bring in Superman when a Kryptonite asteroid was headed for Earth. Superman, aided by Batman, escaped them in Washington but met up with them again in Tokyo. Power Girl and Katana had been double agents working with Superman and Batman the whole time. When Captain Atom and his squad pursued them to Japan, Power Girl struck out at him. Force reacted by indiscriminately killing dozens of people. Katana chopped his hands off, releasing the atomic energy he harbored. Batman convinced Captain Atom to absorb the energy leaking from Force, which threatened to decimate the city. Captain Atom absorbed all the energy and disappeared, moving several years into the future in a quantum leap.

Force would later return and again bedeviled Kyle Rayner by apparently decapitating Kyle's mother Maura Rayner and stuffed her severed head in an oven. He engaged Rayner in a lengthy battle and was almost successful in taking away Rayner's ring after Force attempted to persuade him to give it up. Arrogantly, Force then revealed that the head in the oven was just a mannequin and Maura Rayner was still alive. This caused Kyle to regain control of his ring and decapitated Force. Although Force was alive, Kyle had his head sealed in a bubble of Green Lantern energy and sent it hurling into outer space.

Force reappeared a year after the events of Infinite Crisis as the field leader of Project S.H.A.D.E. while being charged into dealing with any metahuman who illegally entered Blüdhaven. This brought him and his team into a conflict with the Teen Titans, Monolith, Firebrand, and the Atomic Knights. Eventually, Force came into a fight with Hal Jordan and was then told by his comrade Major Victory to stand down; however, Force refused and responded by ripping off Major Victory's right, and beating him to death with it.

His revolting action caused Force's subordinates and some of the S.H.A.D.E. agents to refuse to stand by him. Eventually, Major Force was brought into conflict with a revived Captain Atom, and Force's rampage was quickly brought to an end when Captain Atom drained him of his energy, leaving his body to fall into the chaos left by the destruction of Blüdhaven at Atom's hand.

Some time later, Major Force find himself working for General Samuel Lane, under Project 7734. Force was tasked into bringing a rogue Captain Atom into custody following the latter of regaining his memories and acting independent from Project 7734's ally Mirabai of Sorcerers' World. A battle between him and Captain Atom ensued, in which Force then transported themselves to Metropolis where the forces of Project 7734's were awaiting for Atom's capture. However, Force and the soldiers were subdued by Mon-El and allowing Captain Atom to escape after delivering a blow to Major Force.

He can throw the shield up to three areas away to inflict Remarkable Blunt damage. His common stunt is to bounce the shield off a number of hard surfaces (up to three targets) and have it return to him the following round. The shield can absorb 90 points of damage per round when held as a defense and reduces Stun/Slam effects by -4CS (falling damage also reduced if landing on the shield) because of its force-absorbing qualities.

TALENTS: Pilot: (Space), Physics, Astronomy, Chemistry, Martial Arts B, E

CONTACTS: Guardians of the Galaxy

HISTORY:
As a young man, Astrovik changed his name to Vance Astro. After a tenure in the U.S. Air Force, he was accepted into the astronaut program at a very young age and was assigned for a special mission to help colonize Centauri-IV. He was placed in suspended animation and when his ship was found centuries later, Earth had already colonized the other planets in the Sol System. The Badoon attacked soon after and Vance found himself attempting to escape with Yondu. They were captured and sent to the enslaved Earth. However, they escaped and Vance found himself leading a group of fellow adventurers who named themselves the Guardians of the Galaxy.

After traveling to the present, the Guardians were given honorary Avengers status.

While in the present, Vance attempted to convince his younger self to not take the same path he did. The young Vance's mutant powers emerged during the meeting. Upon returning to their time, the Guardians defeated the Badoon and drove them off Earth. Like his fellow teammates, Vance found himself unable to fit in with civilian life on the post-invasion Earth. He joined them in leaving the planet and exploring the galaxy. He destroyed the planet-killing Topographical Man by joining with fellow Guardian Nikki in a metaphysical act of love.

Vance found Captain America's Shield, fell in love with Aleta, who was still married to her estranged husband, Stakar, only to watch him absorb her into his body during a battle with Malevolence, the daughter of Mephisto. This act forced him and the rest of the team to vote Stakar off the team.

The Guardians returned to Earth, where after reuniting with their old friend Tarin they were mistaken for bad guys by her team of freedom fighters, the Commandeers. Once tempers had cooled down and the teams reconciled, they were attacked by a street gang calling themselves the Punishers, after learning about Frank Castle from holo chip recordings made by Vance. A sniper shot Vance as he and the others were leaving their base, the former Sub-Basement of the Avengers Mansion. Although the sniper's aim was thrown off due to a last second save by the Inhuman Talon, the bullet still struck his temple and nearly killed him. As the Guardians and Commandeers fought the Punishers, Hollywood, formally Wonder Man, carried Vance to safety. Because the bullet was able to rupture his Adamantium containment suit, it is assumed the bullet was composed of Dargonite, Simon gave Vance some of his ionic blood while Sorcerer Supreme Krugarr used a spell to not only safe his life, but destroy his containment suit and stop his body from aging rapidly.

Shortly after the Phalanx conquest, Starlord and his unnamed team came across Vance, along with part of the Avengers Mansion, frozen in Limbo Ice. Freed by Phyla-Vell, he then accompanied the team back to their base on Knowhere, joining their team and inspiring them to use Guardians of the Galaxy as their name. Suffering from amnesia, Vance was soon attacked by a Starhawk, who changed appearances and identities numerous times.

CONTACTS: Avengers Next

HISTORY:
When Iron Man decided to retire from the hero business, he didn't want to let his legacy end with him, so he designed an android patterned after his Iron Man armor. He called his robotic warrior, Mainframe. Mainframe was brought online when trolls attacked a young boy named Kevin Masterson. Mainframe assembled all of the reserve Avengers and fought to save him. When the fight was over, Mainframe, Stinger, J2, and Kevin Masterson formed a new team of Avengers.

Right away, Mainframe attempted to establish himself as team leader and frequently encountered resistance from Stinger (who did not know that Mainframe was a robotic lifeform). But when Mainframe was terminally damaged, exposing his secret, Stinger was one of the first to volunteer to shrink inside him (with the help of her father Ant-Man) to repair him. Later they learned that whenever Mainframe was severely injured, he would download his personality and memories into a replacement body assembled on an orbiting satellite.

Mainframe soon became more than just a high-tech hero to his teammates, he became a friend. He even learned to share his duties as leader with teammate American Dream. However, his strict and rule-oriented leadership often still put him at odds with the less serious Avengers, particularly reservist Spider-Girl.

HISTORY:
Twenty-one years ago, Gary Richards and his wife gave birth to their first child, a son named Reed. Almost immediately, the Richards suspected that there was something special about Reed, who displayed his curiosity from the day he was born. As a child, he demonstrated remarkable intelligence, well ahead of that of his peers. While other children engaged in sports or played games, Reed devoted himself to the sciences. His father often found him cannibalizing household appliances in an effort to create something never before seen by man - an act that often earned him his father's ire.

Reed's heightened intellect naturally made him the subject of ridicule at his school. Fortunately, he managed to become friends with the school's star linebacker, Ben Grimm. Ben generally associated with Reed in order to get help with his trigonometry homework, but he valued him enough to help him against the school bullies.

When Reed was only ten years old he began developing schematics for a device that could transmit matter across the dimensional plane. He displayed his work at the Midtown Middle School Science Fair, where he successfully teleported a toy car into an alternate dimension. This garnered him the attention of the Director of Mainland Technology Development.

An agent named Lieutenant Lumpkin (who was present for Reed's Science Fair experiment), recommended him for induction into a special government think tank - a program that recruited young geniuses in the hopes of creating the scientific leaders of the future. Lumpkin approached Reed's parents for their permission, and explained that the government would pay them a nominal fee for allowing them to take Reed under their care.

Lumpkin brought Reed to the Baxter Building, the central hub for the Mainland Technology Development consortium. He began working under the auspices of noted scientist Dr. Franklin Storm. Storm introduced Reed to his "greatest achievements", his daughter, Susan, and her younger brother, Johnny.

Reed's father was relieved to get rid of him, so Reed rarely saw his family thereafter. His only close contacts were his fellow students and his dog Einstein. Missing his family, Reed covertly constructed a "Fantasti-Car," a fuel free vehicle with the capacity to fly at MACH-7, but never used it.

For the next several years, Reed continued to work on his teleportation technology. The Baxter Building provided him with all of the resources at their disposal and they even developed an oscillating window that could peer into an otherworldly plane of reality known as the N-Zone.

During this time, Reed met a fellow student named Victor van Damme. Victor was a brash and arrogant student, known for his enmity toward his fellow students. One day, Reed caught Victor in his room rifling through his notes. Victor had taken it upon himself to read Reed's research, adjusting various calculations along the way. Reed was furious, but soon discovered that Victor was equally brilliant. He invited him to work alongside him on the N-Zone project. Over the next five years Van Damme helped Reed with his N-Zone math, while Reed aided Victor's work in miniaturized robotics.

By the time they reached adulthood, the young geniuses were ready to test their N-Zone transmitter technology on biological matter. The think tank erected a large platform in the Nevada desert for their first major testing phase. Reed's old school chum, Ben Grimm, showed up at the testing site to visit him. He was on college holiday and wanted to see how his childhood pal was getting along.

Accompanied by a bevy of military officers and scientists, Reed Richards, Ben Grimm, Susan Storm, Johnny Storm and Victor Van Damme stood at the control panels of the transmit platform. What the other four didn't realize however, was that Victor had surreptitiously altered the coordinates on the transmitter device. They activated the machine hoping to teleport an apple into the N-Zone. Instead, they tore open a dimensional breach in space and all five disappeared in a blinding flash of light.

Reed awakened several yards away. As he rose to his feet, he discovered that he now possessed the ability to stretch and remold his body into any variety of shapes. Ben, Sue, and Johnny had also developed powers of their own. They soon encountered the clay-based creations of Dr. Molekevic, subsequently foiling his plot.

Only one member of the group affected by the N-Zone accident remained unaccounted for: Victor Van Damme, the man responsible for the Fantastic Four's failed assassination. Victor established a small community in Denmark under his control using neural implants, and when the foursome arrived he took down each of them until only Reed stood in his way.

Reed fought Victor, winning until he unleashed his "subjects" upon them. Unable to convince Van Damme to help him reverse the changes, and unable to force him as he had diplomatic immunity, Reed returned his focus to science by perfecting his N-Zone transporter and adapting it to both time travel and accessing parallel dimensions.

After the team went public battling the alien Nihil in Las Vegas, Reed began craving the public approval of being a super hero, perhaps compensating for his father's disapproval. He balanced his obsessive love of science against his romantic relationship with Susan Storm and his new celebrity hero status.

When the Ultimatum Wave hit New York, Reed soon realized that Victor would continue to destroy the world if he wasn't stopped, and prompted the Thing to go to Latveria and kill him. After the funeral of Franklin Storm, Reed Richards' marriage proposal was rejected by Sue, and the Fantastic Four disbanded. Reed moved back in with his biological family as he pondered what to do next.

Unable to accept the destruction Magneto caused, that the team split up, and most of all, that Sue rejected his proposal, Reed's worldview began to change drastically. This view was catalyzed by the information given to him by Kang, that the world was going to end eventually. Six months later, Reed faked his death and had the Richards home blown apart, killing his family.[9] Reed arranged attacks by alien creatures on the Baxter Building, the Triskelion, Roxxon, and Peter Parker's home.

Sue and Nova (Rick Jones) discovered that Project Pegasus had been broken into and all of the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents posted there had been killed. There, Reed was caught controlling the alien creatures responsible for the earlier attacks, hauling objects that Project Pegasus was keeping safe into a portal. Sue, angered about the attacks and his faked death, attempted to kill Reed, but he was able to neutralize her and subjected her to extreme pain. Nova missed Reed with a projectile attack that ended up destabilizing the portal, causing it to suck in objects with a strong vacuum effect. Reed was pulled in, and though Sue tried to hold onto him with what little of her strength she had left, her efforts were futile. She let go in time for the portal to close with no sign of Reed remaining.

Reed, busy planning his endgame from his new lair in Quadrant 77 of the Negative Zone, was later confronted by the heroes of Earth. They defeated him and his alien minions with little effort, giving him a chance to explain his actions. Johnny unleashed a massive flame attack on Richards out of revenge for hurting his sister, disfiguring the right side of Reed's face. Reed lost functionality of his right arm, causing it to hang lifelessly elongated at his side. While the heroes were busy destroying his lair, Reed was flung from the ground and was left floating aimlessly about the Negative Zone with the wreckage of his base.

Richards found a way of returning to Earth through the use of the dead brains of his Alien soldiers as wetware computers for the wreaked systems of the otherwise still functional teleporter. After he returned he gathered together individuals and founded a group called Children Of Tomorrow, whose aim was to perfect the world. Their base was built in Northern Germany and called the Dome. The Dome's interior time passed at an accelerated rate compared to the outside world. Over 900 years passed inside the Dome, so their inhabitants evolved to perfect super-humans. Recently, the EDI sent Captain Britain, Captain France, Captain Italy, and Captain Spain, along with Thor, to attack the Dome. The Children proved to be formidable opponents, who defeated the heroes.

Searching for the source of power of Thor, the Children killed all the Asgardians and drained their power, leaving Thor powerless, who was saved by Iron Man, while the Captains were captured. Thor, using an upgraded version of his hammer and belt, teleported himself inside the City, rescued Captain Britain and faced the Maker, the new alias of Richards. After being defeated again by the Children, it was revealed to Thor that the Maker was Reed Richards. Reed left Thor alive and allowed him to escape along with Captain Britain to deliver the message about Richards' newest plans.

After S.H.I.E.L.D. convinced Zorn and the Hulk to attack the Children (but the latter convinced to help them), the Maker deployed an anti-matter attack on Washington, D.C., killing the President, his Cabinet and the Congress, with only Secretary of Energy Howard surviving and becoming the next President. After Tony Stark contacted the new President to make a plan against the Children, Stark was provided as a prisoner for the Children to seal a pact of peace.

When Richards was about to vivisect Stark, Tony's self-conscious technology interfacer brain tumor named Anthony convinced the City to rebel against the Maker because of his master's counter-evolutionary acts of war and allowed Anthony to create a giant Iron Man Armor and use it against Richards and become the new leader of the Children. Richards defended himself using a Giant-Man serum on the Hulk, but he was finally defeated by Sue Storm and presumably handed over to S.H.I.E.L.D..

Richards was freed by Kang, who wanted him to gather the Infinity Gems from the Ultimates, for which he asked Quicksilver to get one of remaining in the ruins of the Dome. He claimed before the Ultimates to use the gems to rebuild the world. The heroes barely escaped, but Captain America decided to be left behind in order to stop the villains, although he was defeated.

Using numerous H.E.R.B.I.E. Trons, Reed forced global powers to negotiate peace, undid global patents and copyright standards (making any scientific progress to the public domain), liberated all Stark, Roxxon, Hammer and Osborn technology, removed financial blockage by attacking the World Bank headquarters, distributed Utopia's sentient seed, and deployed hybrid zero emission energy technology.

The seventh gem was revealed to be located in Tony Stark's brain, who was kidnapped by Quicksilver. The Maker performed a surgery on Stark's brain while his H.E.R.B.I.E. Trons were trying to reach the Earth's core in order to acquire the final gem. Richards finally got the last gem, and left Tony Stark to die.

Stark's consciousness was revealed to have survived electronically, and he rescued the Ultimates from the Negative Zone after infiltrating Reed's network. Reed used a brainwashed Human Torch to retrieve the final gem, which was used by Kang to come to the aid of Richards when he was being outnumbered by the Ultimates.

During a furious battle, Iron Man managed to get the Gems, but before any of the Dark Ultimates could retrieve them, an immense flux of energy echoed through time and space. Kang alerted that it was too late to prevent what she came to stop and vanished, stating she had to go back further in time, abandoning Reed, who was imprisoned in The Cube.

When an entity known as Galactus came from another universe to this one, Reed Richards decided to escape custody and try to put differences aside with the Ultimates in order to stop Galactus, who arrived at Earth, from consuming the planet. As the Ultimates tried to use a interdimensional portal to seek help on how to stop Galactus from the Reed Richards from Galactus' universe, Richards convinced them to let him go to that Earth, as he would still be able to access the other Richards' files even if his counterpart wasn't available at the moment to help them.

Richards convinced the Ultimates to let him go, but he had to be accompanied by Miles Morales. Both him and Miles used the portal and arrived to Earth-616. At the Baxter Building, Reed discovered that his counterpart had a happy life along with Sue, and even had children. Upon gathering the information necessary about Galactus, Reed and Miles were approached by Valeria Richards, the daughter of Earth-616's Reed and Sue, who activated an override protocol of an army of H.E.R.B.I.E.s to attack the intruders. Reed and Miles managed to escape and return to Earth-1610, with the information needed. Reed then apologized to Susan for all of his wrongdoings, as Valeria proved there was still hope for them, even if it was Earth-616.

For Richards' plan to be carried out, the presence of Kitty Pryde was needed. She would be injected with the Giant-Man serum in order to use her phasing powers to short circuit Galactus' machine, which would turn all the matter of Earth into compatible energy, and her super density powers would cause sufficient damage to Galactus. When the plan was carried out, Reed used Kitty Pryde merely as a distraction to open a portal to the Negative Zone and send Galactus to it. The plan was a success and Earth was saved.

Reed later started using the remains of the Baxter Building to continue his work, and claimed that discovering the future he could have had with Sue made him feel remorse for his past actions. When a Spider-Ham from an alternate universe arrived to Earth-1610 to warn its heroes about the impending doom, only able to be fixed by the offspring of Sue and Reed, the Invisible Woman visited the Baxter Building, willing to get back with Reed, even if she didn't want to. However, he managed to convince her to seek another path. Sue and Reed raided a S.H.I.E.L.D. lab from where they gathered genetic material from Ben Grimm, and artificially impregnated Sue with a female child.

While S.H.I.E.L.D. was being reconstructed after it was disbanded following Galactus' attack, Nick Fury offered Reed a position in the new S.H.I.E.L.D., needing someone to imagine every possible threat and prepare a countermeasure. Reed accepted, however, his supposed redemption had been a façade. He secretly continued his operations as The Maker in underground Manhattan, also reconstructing the City to help him. He chose not to unleash the Children of Tomorrow however, believing that the world was not ready. At some point, he became aware of the incursions and began destroying alternate Earths to protect his own. He also built a Bridge to see alternative realities to observe other universes undergoing incursions. In the following months, he destroyed sixty-seven Earths. While preparing to destroy a Mapmaker dead world, he saw that Earth detonate prematurely, and witnessed the arrival of Earth-616's Cabal, who had destroyed it.

The Maker allied with the Cabal, and together they began working on a way of surviving the final incursion. After having recreated The Dome, the Maker summoned Nick Fury to inform him of the incursions, and convinced him to attempt to destroy the colliding Earth during the final incursion, which would pit the last remaining universes against each other; Earth-1610 and Earth-616. When the final incursion happened, S.H.I.E.L.D. launched a full attack on Earth-616 while the Maker moved the Dome to New York City, which had become the incursion point of this event.

With designs stolen from the heroes of Earth-616, the Maker created the life raft that would secure him and his allies when the Multiverse perished. After the last two universes were destroyed, the raft found its way onto Battleworld, a patchwork planet composed of the remnants of different realities held together by the now-omnipotent Doctor Doom of Earth-616.

Eight years after the creation of Battleworld, the Maker's raft was discovered in a section known as Utopolis. When it was investigated by the Thor Corps, the police force of Battleworld, the vessel was accidentally opened, and its occupants were freed from their suspended animation, quickly drawing the attention of Battleworld's authorities.

The Maker and the Cabal went on the move, but the Thor Corps soon caught up with them, leading to a confrontation. The survivors of Earth-616 soon joined the brawl after being freed from their own life raft by Doctor Strange, the sheriff of Battleworld and Doom's right hand. When Doom stepped in after noticing the presence of Mister Fantastic, Reed's Earth-616 counterpart and one of the survivors of Earth-616, Doctor Strange used his magic to teleport them all away to prevent them from suffering Doom's wrath.

Both Reeds, the Maker and Mister Fantastic, joined forces in order to find a way to defeat Doom. When numerous conspirators attacked Doomstadt, the Reeds used the event as a distraction to sneak into Castle Doom and find Doom's source of power; the Molecule Man, which had previously been identified with the help of Reed's allies.

As soon as the two Reeds confronted the Molecule Man, the Maker betrayed his counterpart, considering him weak and soft, and captured him in a time bubble. However, the Molecule Man defended Reed, and cut the Maker into slices, seemingly killing him. When Mister Fantastic was subsequently given the power of Doom by the Molecule Man, he began recreating all of reality. As the Molecule Man powered up Reed's new Multiverse, he placed a sliver of the Maker in every reality, leading to the presence of the Maker's mind spread throughout every universe as a single mind inhabiting a different body for each reality.

The Maker set his sights on the reborn Prime Universe, which had become the focal point of the new Multiverse. With new resources at his hand, Reed desired to remerge the Multiverse and empower the sentience of the Omniverse, Eternity, to prepare it for a looming war. To this end, the Maker allied himself and became the leader of W.H.I.S.P.E.R, a scientific/terrorist organization.
One his first experiments was "Life-Minus," which consisted of capturing the souls of the dead in crystals, creating a new form of life. The Maker unleashed the Neohedron in Paris, where it proceeded to use a higher-dimensional frequency to turn people's heads into crystals for the dead to control their bodies. This plan was, however, thawrted by the New Avengers of A.I.M. (Avengers Idea Mechanics).

The Maker decided that A.I.M.'s resources would be useful for his mission, and implanted self-replicating nano-cameras in their headquarters, Avenger Base Two, after a W.H.I.S.P.E.R. agent made contact with the New Avengers during a mission in Tokyo.[36] When S.H.I.E.L.D. became in conflict with A.I.M., the Maker took the chance to strike their base with his New Revengers with the intent of a performing a takeover.

However, the Maker's plan soon fell apart when he discovered A.I.M. and their leader Bobby da Costa had known about the nano-cameras, and used them to their advantage, feeding the Maker what they wanted him to see and hear.[38] After Songbird manipulated S.H.I.E.L.D. into bombing W.H.I.S.P.E.R.'s headquarters,[39] the Maker decided to retreat and leave the remaining New Revengers to continue fighting the New Avengers while he moved to Plan B, that consisted of kidnapping the President from the Air Force One and selling him to the highest bidder.

In a turn of events, da Costa overturned Reed's plan yet again, and led him to unwittingly teleporting himself to a fake Air Force One made up by Warlock. Da Costa revealed A.I.M. themselves had used the moment in Tokyo when W.H.I.S.P.E.R. infected them with nano-cameras to implant their own on W.H.I.S.P.E.R.'s agent, and the surveillance had granted him the knowledge of every aspect of the Maker's plan. The leaders of the two scientific organizations fought, and the Maker was defeated at last. Reed was subsequently delivered by da Costa directly to the government and imprisoned in a special cell, while professing his subordinates would come for him.

Using his ability to exist in every universe at once, the Maker bypassed his imprisonment by simply bringing a different body from an adjacent reality, and carried on with his task to help evolve the Multiverse. To this end, he sought the help of High Evolutionary in order to establish a common goal. After harvesting the essence from the Aspirants created by the First Firmament, the Maker used the High Evolutionary's technology to destroy the Superflow, the space that separated each universe, successfully bringing every universe together into a single reality to give Eternity the strength to defeat the First Firmament. However, this allowed the First Firmament to overwhelm Eternity. The Ultimates confronted the Maker about the consequences of his actions, but instead of admitting he made a mistake, he ordered the newly resurrected original Ultimates from his defunct home universe to attack the Ultimates. After a brief fight, the two teams called a truce, which prompted the Maker to kill Captain America for his disobedience. When the Maker tried to kill the others, Spectrum and the High Evolutionary destroyed his then-current body.
