-Infomorph mimicked the forms and abilities of others (to some extent), but wasn't completely in control: DD once got her to mimic an entire hive of insects, which caused her to become debilitated for a while. She actually survived the battle. She's largely useless unless one of her opponents is a master of the combat arts- thankfully for her, her enemies in this story were Daredevil and Captain America.

-Lester had quit HYDRA earlier, but was convinced to join up with them again by Strucker after Joey was killed. WHY he did this I have no clue, because this story sounds weird ("sure, I'll rejoin HYDRA after my brother died fighting for you! Why not?"). He hasn't been seen since the explosion of the team's base, so he's probably dead. I can't think of any reason why he wouldn't have the same stats as his brother.

Of all of these digital dorks, this guy strikes me as the one with the most promise. Much like how the "Vid Kids" concept from the Wolverine/Shatterstar team up (Wolverine #54) is more relevant today, the concept of a villain with a motif based around video games is even more relevant today. Because if you want to find hyper-competitive, highly skilled individuals who revel in violence and the misery of others, you can definitely find those in the worst sections of the online gaming community. If you wanted to find some potential would-be supervillains, that wouldn't be a bad place for it.

I could see something like Wirehead here being brought back as someone who offers similar technology to other people, gamer types who have power armor or are remote controlling some LMD style robots, with gear that replicates the abilities of various game genres. Then you have individual adventures where you have entire teams of jobbers that are wink-wink-nods to various gaming genres and franchises, like a team called the Midnight Raiders who are based off of World of Warcraft-style MMORPGs, huge pauldrons and all, then another group who are based off of Fighting Games, FPS games, Battle Arena games, retro-gamers, etc. Then the best members of each team can be brought back for the final fight as a team of bad guys based off of video games, sort of an evil video game Justice League.

Yeah, I read stuff like that and I'm like "that seems RIPE with options these days". You could comment on Gamer Culture, obsessiveness in the fandoms, Fandom Rivalries, all that good junk.

Also it occurs to me I forgot to re-post the Dire Wraiths when I statted up Rom and the Spaceknights, so I'll get to them tonight as well :).

Brain-Sucking +6 (+7 Damage, DC 22)
Initiative +3

Defenses:
Dodge +5 (DC 15), Parry +6 (DC 16), Toughness +5, Fortitude +6, Will +2

Complications:
Motivation (Control of the Galaxy)
Enemy (Galador, The Spaceknights, Rom)- The Dire Wraiths are arch-nemeses of the highly-technological people of Galador and their mighty Spaceknights.

Total: Abilities: 58 / Skills: 22--11 / Advantages: 2 / Powers: 38 / Defenses: 3 (112)

-The Dire Wraiths are the "Evil Alien Empire" of the Rom: Spaceknight book, which has it's own odd little legal entanglement going on (the character is owned by Hasbro, but Marvel owns all of the comic book stuff, meaning that all of Rom's story can be used in Marvel continuity EXCEPT for the main character!). They're basically like uber-Skrulls with Brain-Sucking Power, and were the arch-nemeses of the Spaceknights of Galador. The males are technologically-powerful, while the females are powerful Magicians (who at first could not use their powers under Earth's sun). Rom sent a lot of them to Netherworld (which is basically one of Marvel's MANY Limbos- this one ruled by Immortus), and in a big climactic battle, Rom sent their entire PLANET there, which gives them a fate worse than death (many of them actually goad super-heroes into KILLING them, and a recent Annihilators storyline states that "even our SOULS are worn thin").

-Dire Wraiths were even used as some of the "Universal Inhumans" in the most-ignored part of Jon Hickman's Fantastic Four run (seriously, they make this huge deal out of Black Bolt and his "Five Wives", but then the non-Medusa ones are never heard from again, the Inhumans leave the Kree, and the Kree just invade Earth and Marvel ignores the whole thing ever happened). The Winter Guard faced a whole crew of them in a Limited Series of theirs, in which Fantasma revealed herself to be a Dire Wraith Queen all along.

-They would be gone for a good while with only a scant few appearances here and there (this was AFTER Rom was cancelled), and popped up in the "Winter Guard" Limited Series to confound Russia's heroes (it was revealed that Fantasma had been a Dire Wraith Queen all along). The Annihilators faced some of them and forged the start of a peace with Galador, and there are even Dire Wraiths among the Universal Inhumans in the current "Fantastic Four" uber-complex arc, as one of them is now married to Black Bolt and allied with the Badoon, Centaurians & Kymellians.

A comment from Yeoman, surrounding Rom: Spaceknight, from 2015:
Rom is, no joke, probably what scared me off Super Hero books until I was about twelve. That book was kinda terrifying to a small child. And that was before the female Dire Wraiths, AKA living nightmare fuel, showed up. The Brood aren't much better. But at least their home didn't nearly win a fight with Galactus, and they don't ram their ovipositor down your throat and disintegrate you from the inside so they can wear your flesh.

I was thinking more about a character with actual extensive combat training and this tech, he/she could make a decent recurring villain for low tier heroes.

The ultra 90's-ness of Systems Crash reminded me of something I forgot to post a while ago, there's a guy on Deviantart (Sadly I can't remember his name) who takes two randomly chosen words, puts them together and creates comic book characters based on the name generated, judging by some of the characters he's done I'm now 100% certain this is what Rob Liefeld did in the 90's.

-Yes, someone made an EXTREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEME version of Cardiac. Cardiaxe is Chris Paxton- an industrial spy hired to steal information of the synthetic skin designed by Dr. Eli "Cardiac" Wirtham. He found prototypes of Wirtham's Cardiac gear in the man's office, stole it, and decided to become Cardiaxe, because of course you would if you found that stuff. This was in the Nightwatch Limited Series, which makes it ultra-silly since Cardiac was just a low-tier (albeit quite new) Spider-Man threat, and not the kind of guy you advertise in a Limited Series. Cardiaxe ends up fighting Nightwatch (who, as Kevin Trench, was friends with Wirtham), and nearly finished the hero off until Cardiac intervened. Cardiac intended to murder the man for uncovering his secret identity, leading to Nightwatch having to fight both of them- the police managed to take Cardiaxe into custody, where he has presumably remained ever since, since he did not reappear.

-I figure Cardiaxe for a crappier, amateur version of Cardiac, though he his PL 8 with that big Axe of his. He's PL 7 to Dodge and to Blast away, though, meaning that he can't handle a protracted fight against either Cardiac or Nightwatch.
