-Jurassic World was a pretty fun movie. Simplistic, not as well-shot as Jurassic Park, and generic, but fun. It also goes like "1980s Sexist", with a boring, stoic, all-business chick as the main female, and this vital '80s Action Hero Guy as the main dude. This gave it some shit from people (including Joss Whedon, whose feminism has always struck me as fake, given his fetish for naked crying waifs... now that the stories of his affairs have come out, it looks like I was right). It featured some over-the-top goofy stuff like the multiple Pterosaurs trying to eat the babysitter lady (who really didn't do anything THAT evil to deserve that fate) and then get gulped down by a Mosasaur (complete with a big fake CGI close-up of a screaming Pterosaur), super-action-heroes instead of the "Regular Joes" of the other films, and the guy having "Raptor Training Powers. But overall the movie wasn't bad. It even ended with a T-Rex/Velociraptor (vs) Super-Mega-Raptor fight, so if you treat it like a Big Monster Movie instead of a high-tier filmgoing experience, you'll have a lot more fun.

-The Indominus Rex is meant to be the culmination of the new "Jurassic World" park's branding. A godless corporation now runs the park (mere lip service is paid to the original stuff), and much is made of the ethics of their genetic engineering, as they figure the public is bored of their "same-old" dinosaurs and now what's something NEW. The creature is made incredibly-intelligent, though basically looks like a Zombified T-Rex with longer arms and a less-squat head, giving it a less impressive visual. But it develops heat-signature camouflaging, stealth tactics, etc., and goes on the rampage, killing dozens and freeing everything in the park until the heroes gather some raptors and a T-Rex to fight it. Indominus Rex still nearly wins, but is dragged into the water by Chekov's Mosasaur, and the heroes survive.

-Who didn't love Calvin + Hobbes? Seriously, if you meet anyone who didn't, you should immediately kill them to prevent them from breeding. The death sentence you get will be worth it. This was one of my favourite strips from the series from when I was a kid, for the obvious reason of having DINOSAURS in it- not just Dinosaurs, but an Allosaurus-type Carnosaur so big that the 70-ton ULTRASAURS were basically bite-size snacks. How is that NOT the greatest thing you've ever seen? He practically makes Godzilla look like a wiener by comparison.

-Yeah, this thing is a match for any of the Kaiju I've ever statted up. It's a Growth 19 super-monster that can wipe out PL 10 Sauropods like they're nothing. No frills, no cheap gimmicks or even a Breath Weapon like many giant monsters: it's just a massive eating machine with a Bite stronger than most Heralds of Galactus' best attacks.

I would add just one thing to that:

Swallow Whole (Progressive Affliction 15 [Resisted by Dodge; Hindered and Vulnerable, Defenseless & Immobilized], Extra Condition, Grab-Based, Feedback, Limited Degree; Damage 12, Penetrating 12, Secondary Effect, Reaction [successfully immobilized target]).

-Placerias was a very heavy, barrel-shaped, thickly-built creature from the Triassic period. They are little understood, but rather beaky, and may have habits near to the Hippopotamus, which has a similar shape. It pre-dates most dinosaurs by millions of years. This creature is BY FAR the most oddball creation of the Dino Riders line, as Skate of the Rulons came to battle beside a small-ish Placerias in rather detailed armor.

-Plateosaurus is a REALLY old dinosaur find, both in terms of age of the animal (Triassic period, before most of the REALLY cool dinos showed up), and the time of fossil discovery (it's #5 overall). An early Sauropod, it's been all over the place as far as common knowledge about it's eating habits, stance, etc. Simply put, nobody can agree on exactly what it looked like, how it stood, or any of that. It's two-legged most of the time, and has yet to develop many of the standard Sauropod schticks, but it's got the long neck and tail. This one is "only" 26 feet long (the neck and tail are Reach-based- the dino itself features unusual size variation amongst adults, between 16 and 33 feet) and quite skinny, so it's an ideal prey species. The only problem is it's nowhere near as famous or as notable-looking as the duckbills, so it'll probably always be a fifth-stringer animal- no Dino-related shows ever care about it, despite the number of fossils remaining (hundreds of well-preserved skeletons) making it one of the most important dinosaurs for study purposes of all time. Plateosaurus is PL 7 defensively, PL 6 offensively- no great shakes, but decent.

-Haha, I love these little critters. These are basically Sauropods that came onto some areas that became islands, and thus became super-small. By Sauropod standards. Meaning they're 20 feet long entirely, but with bodies a little larger than a Clydesdale. It's funny, because Sauropods are always about SIZE SIZE SIZE, but I can't help but think about playing the greatest Paladin ever in D&D: the guy riding a Europasaurus into battle, with armour on it and everything. At PL 6, they're the babies of what is normally the biggest of the biggest dinosaurs, but they're still no push-over, able to beat the snot out of your average horse or wolf or something. In a campaign, you may as well use these stats for baby Sauropods, but you could also use my Dino-Paladin idea. Because that would be awesome.

-Saltasaurus is a pretty cool Growth 7 version of a Sauropod (about the size of a Triceratops, plus a huge Neck & Tail), and being one of the very few known with actual ARMOUR on it's back. So nature, for some reason, decided to mix an Ankylosaurus with a Brontosaurus, to get some kind of weird hybrid creature. What is this, The Wuzzles? He's only PL 8 on offense, making PL 9 just with the Sauropod Stampede ability he's got, but he's quite tough, as strong as an Elephant, and is usually confronted in large herds.

-Slightly diminished from Saltasaurus (though still the size of a frickin' elephant), the Amargasaurus is distinct for the crazy double-row of spines that run down the length of its neck- what these were meant to be is unclear- possibly display, defense or combat-related.

-Cetiosaurus is the first Sauropod ever described- it's so old (1842!) that the scientists looking at it imagined they were looking a marine creature (possibly a giant crocodile), hence the name. Because what ELSE could have been so big? Despite its age, Cetiosaurus is not a well-known Sauropod, having given way to later discovers like Brontosaurus, Apatosaurus, Brachiosaurus and Diplodocus.

-However, I actually have a personal connection to this beast- one of my favorite dinosaur toys as a kid- a British Natural History Museum replica- was of a purple Cetiosaurus. Alas, one time, I forgot to take it out of the sandbox, and it got all kinds of ice frozen over it (it's Canada, you can go from "sandbox weather" to "ice over every freaking thing" in about a week), so I had to wait a whole 'nother year to play with it again. Oddly, I don't recall being that upset about it, since I could just wait for it. It was only as an adult that I realized what this thing was- I'd always assumed it was a Mamenchisaurus... even though a cursory observation shows the word "Cetiosaurus" clearly written on the underside of the toy.

-Mamenchisaurus is a little-known dinosaur that kinda stuck with me as a kid, since I thought one of my favorite toys was a Mamenchisaurus. Why I thought this, when the animal was labeled "Cetiosaurus" in raised print on the bottom, is beyond me, but I'd clearly read about "Mamenchisaurus" somewhere, and thus assumed I had one. In any case, it's a great example of a 'medium' Sauropod, having only Growth 7 (about the size of an African Elephant), but with a super-elongated neck- most Sauropods add "Reach" instead of "Growth" for such things. It's PL 8.5, which means it's no pushover, and its Advantages mean it could take on anything short of the larger Sauropods or super-theropods.

-Another mid-sized Sauropod, Camarasaurus is probably most notable because its head was incorrectly assigned to a BRONTOSAURUS specimen, thus giving us an incorrect observation of a box-headed creature instead of the elongated skull of the true beast. This, the result of the "Bone Wars" between two paleontologists who hated each other and were eager to "discover" creatures before the other regardless of accuracy, eventually led to the famous Brontosaurus/Apatosaurus split.

-Camarasaurus is one of the most commonly-found Sauropods in paleontology, showing up frequently in western North America. The only complete Sauropod skeleton in the Royal Tyrrell Museum in nearby Drumheller, Alberta is of a Camarasaurus.

So yeah, at this level, the exact math is a little trickier, and there's some "log-jamming" of some dinosaurs together. Cetiosaurus appears a bit smaller than Mamenchisaurus looking at the "Size Comparison" pics, for example. Once you get to this size, a few meters don't really make a HUGE difference, but there's still some.

-With the nomenclature of "Brontosaurus" being up in airs, Diplodocus kind of snuck is as being THE iconic Sauropod dinosaur (being the owner of the famous dinosaur skeleton at the Carnegie Museum- and re-casted all over the world, it's no surprise that this one became famous). It's one of the smaller ones of the "big names", being only about as big as Indricotherium or other super-mammals, but it makes up for it with tremendous length. Going upwards of 92 feet long, scientists have measured it's EXTREMELY long tail and have potentially guessed that it could create miniature sonic booms, the same way a bullwhip does. Yes, that means nature essentially broke the sound barrier before humankind ever did. Also, they have cool little spikey things going up their backs. It's also possible that Seismosaurus, a similarly-built animal, is the exact same thing, and these just grew far bigger in certain areas, but Paleontology is funny that way. I mean, if you saw Arnold Schwarzenegger & Danny DeVito buried a few miles apart, would you think they were the same species?

-Diplodocus is a super-heavyweight, equalling the Indricotherium in many ways, but is a bit less strong, since it's built a little more lightly. It's Extended Reach on it's unarmed damage gives it a FAR greater range of damage, though. Note that the "sonic boom" wouldn't express itself as much of a dazzle any more than a bullwhip's sonic boom does- it's uncomfortable, but would be unlikely to deafen anybody. At PL 10, these things also tended to fight in entire HERDS, so unless the Allosaurs chasing it fought in packs (which they usually did), these things could send off just about ANY predator walking. Being "only" Growth 9 for a 92-foot long animal seems odd, but it's mainly in the tail & neck, which I've accounted for separately with reached damage. The thing's body is "only" about three men tall. Not that humans could bring it down with anything short of a Missile Launcher.

-Laying it all out on the table regarding the name, here: It's BRONTOSAURUS! An initial, awesome name was given to this creature because of some complicated politics involving paleontologists, and it was given an incorrect head- the robust skull of a Camarasaurus was assumed to be the proper one. Science quickly discovered the real, elongated skull, and an old taxon for such a creature was used instead- the much lamer Apatosaurus. Seriously, what would you rather have? Deceptive Lizard? Or THUNDER LIZARD? So thanks to some paleontological ass-hattery, we have a much-lamer-named creature, but I say thee NAY! Every time I will ever refer to such a creature, it will always be a Brontosaurus. Screw scientific naming rules. Screw "Apatosaurus". Such a beast deserves the name "Brontosaurus".

-Brontosaurus is a PL 10.5 super-monster, far stronger than other heavyweight creatures like the Elephant, Megatherium, Indricotherium, or even Diplodocus. It's of similar size to the long Sauropod who's become one of the most famous ones over the years, but Brontosaurus is WAY beefier. His body is longer, taller, wider, he weighs almost twice was a Diplodocus does despite being far shorter in length. Very few animals could have ever hoped to bring one down solo, so it would've had to have been a group effort amongst hyper-bad-ass theropods to do it, or a really sick animal.

-If you're not using Diplodocus, Brontosaurus is an ideal choice in a campaign for a "generic" Sauropod in the background- it's recognizable, famous, a known super-heavyweight, and will be immediately respected. If you're feeling like proving you're smart, use the lesser-known Camarasaurus or Supersaurus, both of whom likely have the same stats (Camarasaurus may be doing +13 Damage, and Supersaurus +15, if you want some specifics).

-Brachiosaurus rounds out the famous Sauropods. One of the titans and most famous of the dinosaurs, these guys are famous for their distinct appearance: the long-armed (hence the name), short-legged look, combined with the tall crested head on top of a neck sticking mostly straight up (most Sauropods held them forward). So impressive are they that the ultimate introduction scene of "Jurassic Park" featured them- as a physical specimen, they're untouchable. A funny thing about these guys is that they're mostly identified with what we've discovered is actually a different genus, the Giraffatitan. It's this one that features in many museum skeletons, and it's a small bit longer and larger than it's cousin.

-Their stats are mostly identical to Brontosaurus, except they're a bit stronger, coming out to a full-on offensive PL 11, PL 10 on defense (like most animals, it's easier to hit). Very few other things in the animal kingdom possess 8 ranks of Impervious Toughness, meaning that many animals simply will be unable to do ANY damage unless they Power Attack. This is simply one of the hardest nuts to crack in the entire animal kingdom.

I don't actually go for "Swallow Whole" mechanics in M&M. It doesn't really "fit" mechanically with the superhero genre, and is almost more of a weakness than a strength (things inside you can fight their way out and damage you!).
