If we're going that route, and since we're doing some character rearranging anyways, I think I may sub out Princess (despite her having seen no actual real action yet) for something a little more conventional. If Blade doesn't mind that is.

Waiting on input from Bladewind, but I could poll here as well for additional input. Might he useful for Bladewind too ;)

So I have 2 builds from games that kinda froze in their tracks in December with no sign of picking back up. I really like the characters, and with a little modification, I think either would work with LSH.

The first is Maverick. He is an infiltration and espionage expert, modeled a little after Black Widow and Young Justice Robin (with the nifty holocomputer on his wrist). He was put through intense gene therapy as part of experimentation conducted by a shady group trying to engineer super soldier's with varied specializations. He would have engineered his own liberation and joined the LSH for asylum. He's rarely the heaviest hitter in a room, but usually the one to know where to apply leverage.

The other character is Blitz. A headstrong and stubborn human who came in contact with an alien relic that synced with her physiology, reinforcing her squishy humanness and giving her the ability to be more, enabling her to join the LSH. Her gauntlet has inspired her to research alien technology, making her a bit of a techie, and powers wise lets her emit photonic blasts and hard light in limited capacity, among a few other utility functions she tends to find in the relic. Overall, she is a turret. Tough as hell with a powerful cannon and very straightforward. (Her build inspiration is Orisa from Overwatch)

So those are the two possible subins for Princess. Both are more proactive characters rather than Princess who was meant as more of a support character so as not to step on any established hierarchy, but seeing as thay doesn't seem to really be a concern, I feel switching to a more proactive character is prudent.

I finally answered - I read the PM but forgot about it as it wasn`t showing as unread anymore.

Personally, I think Maverick is a better fit, despite the feedback I gave you. We have Intrepid that can Blast; Dragonmage can Blast; Solarhawk can blask (but she`s an NPC). Having a Batman-esque character (sorry for the comparion) can`t hurt the group.

Hello everyone. Long time lurker on the board. I hope you guys are doing well.
I've been talking to Bladewind about being apart of the game. I am not really sure what sort of character I'll be playing yet. I have a few ideas, but I'll have to bounce that off Bladewind and see what is good and what characters might need to take a trip to the paper shredder.

What I know is that I want something that fits the team dynamic and hopefully I can bring in someone that is very interesting character wise. I look forward to getting to know you guys and hope I don't make too many mistakes along the way.

Ahhh ok. Thank goodness there are enough people to help out when I make those face flopping rolls. After reading the post above I might change the ideas I gave you. If you need more characters that are fighters I might go that route. Both ideas I gave you seemed more to more ranged than melee.

Just for context, the new character i am introducing is an espionage specialist. Combat wise he's balanced between range and melee but doesn't hit near as hard as our heavy blaster types. He's more focused on setting up advantages to take advantage of via stealth and the like.

Mainly he brings skills and utility to the table, though not knowledge so much, so that's a niche that could be looked that. My character can find out information certainly(part of his utility), but having it ready at hand is almost always better.

Hey Epic Eclipse. Nice to meet you.

The one concern, worry, and thing I really hope to avoid is stepping on another players toes when it comes to their character’s forte. I pitched two ideas to Bladewind. One was a magic user and the other was “a person in a super suit” type. Maybe going Paragon or Powerhouse type might be a better fit.

Well, Intrepid, unless I miss my guess, is a paragon.

I hear you about not wanting to step on toes though. Could always go the weapon wielding warrior route. Tamaranian warrior? Or something martial arts focused? A couple of unrepresented niches for a meleeist.

Ahh shoot, there’s already a Paragon? To be fair, I went in having a feeling that there might be a Powerhouse or Paragon in play already. The thought of a weapon wielder did cross my mind. Honestly, at this point I have thought of everything from a telepath to a fighter that is something like Zealot from Image Comics.

I am still in the idea phase so I don’t have anything solid just yet. I am just coming up with a few ideas that I can eliminate if I see that someone has touched on it already. The great thing about the system is that it gives you a lot of different ways to do things.

And Dragonmage is the mage type.

Though considering his drawbacks aren't really being called upon, perhaps they should be reviewed

Definitely doable.

If you go to the first three or four posts, at one point the player roster is there so you can see the other characters. Intrepid is indeed a paragon with a certain expertise in Time Travel.

Maverick doesn't know much about where he came from, originally that is. He knows he is from Earth and that he was taken by a shadow organization at an early age. What he has been TOLD is that he was an orphan with no idea who his parents were or where they are. In any case, from the young age he was taken in, Maverick has been subjected to various genetic therapy operations, placed through grueling training and even had his memory modified, further muddying the waters of his past.

Why was he subjected to this? The organization that procured Maverick was dedicated to creating their own personal elite soldiers with various specializations. Assassins, bodyguards, spies and the like and more. All grafted with artificially implanted superpowers through gene treatments. In Maverick's case, he was given a general physical enhancement, but more impressive are his powers. However it was managed exactly, Maverick has incredible super-sensory powers, able to "tune" his senses to detect anything he can focus on. If there is a trace of something to sense, he can sense it if he at least knows to try.

Ultimately, this power set made Maverick a natural fit to be used as a spy, an espionage expert and he was trained and outfitted accordingly. There was a snag though. Maverick proved to be none too easy to mentally condition to be controlled and clever enough to pretend otherwise, as difficult as it was to continue to keep the act up until his training was considered sufficiently complete to put him in active duty.

The first chance Maverick got, he got himself caught by the LSH and claimed asylum with them. Of course, being highly trained in espionage, his career as a Legionnaire was rocky and filled with distrust and even now, despite secretly having been accepted into the Espionage Squad, Maverick still has several sets of eyes of his fellow Legionnaires on him, though it doesn't seem to bother him too much as long as they aren't actively hindering him in his duties and training.
Complications:
Motivation (Recognition): Ultimately, Maverick wants to shake the stigma of his training and for those he has now allied himself with to see him as one of their own and to earn their trust. Given the nature of his history and his specialization, he has a long uphill battle.

Stigma: The organization that "made" Maverick has put out his information, making him infamous in a great many places, making it difficult sometimes for Maverick to move around openly, not to mention for people to trust him. He is a known spy in many places, especially among larger corporate entities.

Bounty: And if that wasn't enough, the organization has a bounty out for Maverick to be returned, strongly encouraged to be taken alive. In addition to the potential of bounty hunters, the organization also has its own agents sniffing around for Maverick to take him in and they have hunters every bit as skilled as Maverick is in their specialization.

Amnesiac: In a fundamental sense between being taken when he was young and memory modification, Maverick really doesn't know anything about his true past and can't even fully trust what he thinks he knows about it. In this way, Maverick is functionally an amnesiac and any number of facets of his unknown past might crop up.
He's damn rounded all things considered. He's got a good skill base and solid attributes for Jack of all Trades to be worthwhile, he can fight well enough if not with quite as much punch as others, he makes up for it with various tricks like smoke pellets (which he has all the sensory abilities in the world to see through so he can blind enemies while not blinding himself as he picks them off), improve trip and disarm as well. If surrounded by melee combatants, he can use counter stance to defend and attack at the same time ala deflect.

He's got all kinds of utility for information gathering, the Contacts advantage is to represent him tapping into the Legion Espionage Network to drudge up information, so long as he can contact them. He also personally has Well Informed, so in most situations, he can get some kind of information.

His spy tools give him a lot of utility out of combat for getting in and out of places. I did adjust the list a little to account for the flight suit freebies (A swing line is kind of pointless when you can fly), and his Wide-Spectrum Analysis is really just that, using his sensory powers to detect things but he has to focus to detect specific things, which is why I didn't try to cram in all kinds of extra sense powers standard. There are some pretty obvious things this doesn't cover, like pre or post-cognition, since that has nothing to do with his senses in the present, or remote sensing, but has can add in things like awareness, or push his existing senses a bit further.
