Prejudice (Jewish)- Ike is being raised as Jewish, and may encounter the same troubles that Kyle has.
Responsibility (Canadian)- Ike was born in Canada, and is thus honor-bound to defend the Princess if she is ever abducted. He, like all Canadians, has a secret Emergency Kit for just such a situation.
Relationship (Ms. Stevenson)- Ms. Stevenson is the gorgeous blonde teacher of Ike's class, and she soon falls in love with the boy, entering a sexual relationship with him. Kyle finds this horrifying and wrong, but has a hard time convincing the other males in town of this fact. She eventually commits suicide; Ike refusing to go along with her.
Disabled (Child)- Children are very short, have tiny arms, and aren't as fast as adults. They can never Intimidate an adult without a weapon, no matter their Presence, and are very lightweight, making them easy to pick up.

Total: Abilities: -10 / Skills: 18--9 / Advantages: 0 / Powers: 2 / Defenses: 6 (7)

-Ike was initially used for some silly gags- "Kick the Baby!" was an early attempt at a catchphrase, showing up on a lot of t-shirts and the like, but it wasn't repeated much in the show. Despite booting his brother around like a football, Kyle was rather protective of Ike, attempting to rescue him from aliens. His peculiar flapping-head look was initially just a curiosity of design in the early days, but the establishment of Terrance and Phillip as being Canadian led to Ike being made an adopted, Canadian infant. Another early episode featured the boys trying to save Ike from having his penis chopped off- it turned out that a "bris" was, in fact, more of a cut "to make it look bigger", and that KYLE had already had one.

-Ike eventually slows down in appearances... until Stone & Parker come up with new stuff. He's revealed to be a genius, and joins the kindergarten class. In one of the show's funniest, most iconic episodes, he enters into a creepy relationship with his teacher Ms. Stevenson, who lusts for him. When Kyle attempts to sic the town's police force on the sick pedophile, he's rebuffed when they all discover that it's not a MAN doing the molesting- it's a hot blonde. As Kyle rages, the cops can only look at each other and go "... Nice." "NICE!" "NICCCCCCCCCCCE". When Kyle demands action, Sgt. Yates declares his intentions to track Ike down, "And give him his Luckiest Boy In America medal immediately." A weird later episode features him going through early puberty thanks to some hormonal thing, and he's later framed by his father as an infamous internet troll- once again, Kyle comes to his rescue.

Relationship (Kyle & Ike- Sons)- Gerald appears to be a devoted father, and takes care in the upbringing of his sons.
Rivalry (The Poor)- Gerald looks down upon poor people, explaining things to Kyle in a "Gods and Clods" conversation that he only later realizes makes the poor seem like second-class citizens.
Addiction (Cat Pee)- Gerald, like many in South Park, suffers from an addiction to cat pee, which causes him to hallucinate a boob-infested world.
Secret (Skankhunt42)- Gerald is actually the infamous internet troll Skankhunt42, who specializes in photoshopping dicks in the mouths of females. After getting some to commit suicide, he actually becomes a wanted man.
Secret (Bag of Gold Around Neck)- All Jewish people keep a bag of gold around their necks.
Secret (Actual Bag of Gold Around Neck)- The first bag is always a decoy; Cartman realizes this, and forces Kyle to give up the real one.

Total: Abilities: 30 / Skills: 20--10 / Advantages: 0 / Powers: 0 / Defenses: 3 (43)

-Gerald is Kyle's father, and is initially just shown as a yarmulke-wearing lawyer who can dole out the occasional bit of good advice. They do give him more focus than many shows give "parental" figures, as his misguided advice to Kyle about poor people leads to Kyle writing an essay about "putting the poor into camps", something that reminds Gerald too much of the Holocaust. He also later gets rich by helping everyone in town sue everyone else, and returns to his college addiction to cat pee. His wife typically took more prominence, however... until Season 20 turned him into a major character, as he was revealed to be an infamous internet troll, devoted to harrassing others. Contrary to the "conventional wisdom" that all trolls were sad, angry people with shitty lives, Gerald was depicted as a smart, happy, successful man who gleefully drank wine as he amused himself by terrorizing others in an online world. He ends up being exposed, and is nearly killed in an elaborate, season-long story arc, but ultimately the bottom falls out on the plot and I got kind of bored with it.

Complications:
Relationship (Gerald- Husband)- Gerald and Sheila are somewhat-happily married, though he tends to not get involved with her activism, and she is disgusted by some of his addictions (like cat pee or trolling).
Relationship (Kyle & Ike- Sons)- Sheila is extraordinarily protective and demanding of her two sons, freaking out constantly if they do anything dangerous, misguided, or against her will.
Responsibility (Temper)- Sheila gets extremely angry very quickly- disobedience from her children sends her into a fully-psychotic rage.
Reputation (Big Fat Bitch)- The other boys are also pretty tired of Kyle's mom, but Cartman especially despises her. He even has a song for it, which suggests that children all over the world recognize this as a fact of life.
Obsession (Activism)- Sheila is an easily-agitated Moral Guardian who believes that she knows best for everybody. She is obsessed with censorship, and even leads a war into Canada (her adopted son's home country) after Kenny dies imitating Terrance and Phillip.
Secret (Bag of Gold Around Neck)- All Jewish people keep a bag of gold around their necks.
Secret (Actual Bag of Gold Around Neck)- The first bag is always a decoy; Cartman realizes this, and forces Kyle to give up the real one.
Responsibility (Female)- All females become famished for blowjobs after seeing Broadway musicals, via extremely-subtle subliminal messaging.

Total: Abilities: 14 / Skills: 16--8 / Advantages: 0 / Powers: 0 / Defenses: 1 (23)

-A HUGE running gag in the series is Kyle's mom, a big fat bitch by the name of Sheila (like Gerald, named for one of Matt Stone's parents). A stereotypical Jewish mother, Sheila is protective and constantly worried, acting like a true satellite parent to Kyle. Her activism, said to take place approximately once a month (where she "gets a bug up her butt about SOMETHING"), usually involves her getting offended by something said on TV or in person, and leading a march or a protest against it. In an early episode, she has several people commit suicide trying to get a vulgar show taken off the air, and in the Movie, she actually ignites a WAR between the United States and Canada, all over Terrance and Phillip. In short, she's sort of like today's SJW-types, but her Moral Outrage is more based off of children hearing swearing and the like- "Parents Television Council" stuff, not "so-and-so said something that could be perceived as against a minority group" stuff.

-Sheila was used much more in the early seasons (before Mary Kay Bergman's unfortunate death), but was supplanted by Randy. She has remained a major character, though, being featured a lot when Gerald was going through his "Internet Troll" phase. One of my favorite moments with her was her disgusted, blank expression when Gerald had to hold a press conference confessing to his addiction to cat pee. Her sheer "I'm not impressed with this" was hilarious, especially when Gerald gestured at her, and she flatly said "Don't touch me."

Kyle Schwartz

Post by Jabroniville »

Image

KYLE SCHWARTZ
Role:
Unathletic Nerd

-Kyle's cousin Kyle Schwartz producses some great gags- he plays up Jewish stereotypes to eleven, complaining about diet (he gets gas from eating too much meat), having various health problems ("I might get startled, and I have asthma!"), and being a general nerd. He's so stereotypical that Kyle has to bribe Cartman not to rip on him- forced not to engage in any Anti-Semitic jokes, Cartman manages to hold it in... until Kyle S complains about the draft in the classroom making it hard for him to concentrate. Eric's response: "Hah- maybe you should go to a Concentration CAMP!" before pausing for a moment, realizing his error, and going "Aw, son of a bitch!".

Relationship (Mr. Slave)
Motivation (Gay Rights)- Big Gay Al is big on gay rights, and seeks to protect gay animals from prejudice.
Prejudice (Homosexual)

Total: Abilities: 20 / Skills: 30--15 / Advantages: 1 / Powers: 0 / Defenses: 3 (39)

-Big Gal Al is a classic early South Park character- a gay man who lives with dozens of gay animals and has a Big Gay Animal Boat Ride, and helps Stan come to terms with his gay dog. With a lot of catchphrases ("I'm SUPER, thank you SO much for asking!"), he takes a mentorly role, then disappears into a flying briefcase at episode's end. The moral- "It's okay to be gay!" He reappears in the movie, giving a long version of his catchphrase for a musical number (complete with a nude scene and tons of speedo-clad men as backup dancers), but doesn't show up in the series very much.

-Most of his later appearances have been less wacky, and more based around current events. He's kicked out of the Boy Scouts for being a homosexual, which leads to a big public turn-out as people are furious and seek to force the Scouts to accept him... and then he turns it around and tells off those people, pointing out that while he disagrees with the decision (he LOVED being a part of Scouts), the Scouts are a private organization and should be able to hold whatever rules they want to, and others shouldn't force them to play along. It was one of the bigger episodes for the "Matt & Trey are Libertarians" crowd, but a very intelligently-put point that kind of re-frames the debate.

-He eventually marries Mr. Garrison's ex, Mr. Slave, and protects the boys from some bikers, as they all get together and change the meaning of the word "F*ggot" to mean "Guy who rides a really loud Harley" (as the etymology of the word's basis has changed repeatedly over the decades, having been originally meant as a slur against poor people who had to gather "bundles of sticks" for a living, then old women, and finally coming to mean "gay man"). He's got the best part in the episode as well, as the bikers corner the boys and intend to do them harm for calling them that word, and then you hear a massive shotgun blast, with Big Gay Al declaring, with full "gay lisp", "YEW F*GGOTS LEAVE THOSE KIDS ALONE!", proving himself heroic once more.

Defenses:

Complications:
Addiction ("FOY-IN'!")- Russell is incredibly obsessed with fighting, to the point where he takes any possible insult and immediately pummels those responsible.
Responsibility (Stupid)- Russell believes that fighting cancer involves savagely beating an old man WITH cancer.
Relationship (Tugger)- Russell is mortified when Tugger the tugboat attempts to commit suicide after hearing him sing.

Total: Abilities: 36 / Skills: 12--6 / Advantages: 7 / Powers: 0 / Defenses: 6 (55)

-A great celebrity one-off, Russel Crowe (who is friendly with Stone & Parker) was depicted as an exaggeration of his violent real-life persona, acting as the TV host of Russel Crowe's Fightin' Round The World, in which the Australian was voiced with a Cockney accent and began fighting everyone he could find. My personal favorite bit is his "old-timey" boxing pose with the wound-up fists as he declares that he likes "FOY-IN'!" During all of this, the boys keep watching the commercial breaks, hoping to see the new trailer for the Terrance and Phillip sequel (which never seems to appear in the show).

-This episode also gives a great shorthand for idiotic stories that just involve wandering around and fighting. A friend made fun of the Jeph Loeb Supergirl series because it was "Supergirl Fightin' Round the World" against various heroes. HEROES!

-Russell Crowe is a serviceable actor, a singer so bad that his rock music drives his sidekick Tugger to attempt suicide, and a violent brawler.

Hatred (Screwing Around)- These kids screw around way too much.
Secret (Cult of Cthulhu)
Relationship (Fiancee)- Adler lost a fiancee (always shown in live action) to a plane crash. This initially drew him towards suicide, but he later became more laid back.

Total: Abilities: 6 / Skills: 6--3 / Advantages: 0 / Powers: 0 / Defenses: 2 (11)

-Mr. Adler featured heavily in only a single episode, and was notable for constantly chiding the boys for always "screwing around", and getting suicidal over the loss of his fiancee, who was seen in a series of bizarre (live action) flashbacks. He's based off of an old shop teacher of Matt Stone's. In a great gag, he plans to commit suicide using a log cutter in shop class... only to shout "Oh my GOD! What was I thinking?", then righting himself and sitting with his HEAD facing the saw instead of his groin, "That woulda hurt like Hell!" His suicide attempt is interrupted by the fight between Tweek and Craig, and Kenny dies in his place. He's later seen in a bunch of background shots, only rarely getting something to say.

Defenses:
Dodge +6 (DC 16), Parry +5 (DC 15), Toughness +0, Fortitude +1, Will +6

Complications:
Motivation (Sharing Christmas With Everyone)- Even if you're a Jew.
Relationship (Autumn- Wife)- Mr. Hankey is frequently seen with his wife Autumn, though she frequently humiliates him by appearing in public while inebriated, or making reference to his erectile disfunction. Their violent screaming matches are a source of discomfort to the boys.
Relationship (Children)- Mr. Hankey takes a teacher's role with his children, particularly Cornwalis.
Disabled (Feces)- Feces, like children, are very short, have tiny arms, and aren't as fast as adults. They can never Intimidate an adult without a weapon, no matter their Presence, and are very lightweight, making them easy to pick up.

Total: Abilities: 22 / Skills: 18--9 / Advantages: 10 / Powers: 37 / Defenses: 4 (82)

-An early recurring character, Mr. Hankey is thought to be a creation of Kyle's overactive imagination- the idea of talking feces being a little too outlandish to accept. As should be obvious by now, this is a very strange world, and of course the Christmas Poo is in fact a living, sentient being. With a cheery "HOWWWWWWWDY HO!", Mr. Hankey comes to represent the holidays for even a "lonely Jew on Christmas" like Kyle. He soon becomes a Christmas icon to all people, and is seen in a few later episodes. In one, he dies after being poisoned by all the health food eaten by the Hollywood celebrities who've turned South Park into the next Cannes, and is revived with one of Chef's chocolate salty balls- he awakens with a fury, dressed up like Sorcerer Mickey, and casts a magic spell that buries all of the Hollywood agents in a torrent of fecal matter.

-His appearances after this are typically short. He narrates a Christmas Carol-themed episode, and helps the boys escape a few predicaments, but as the gag has worn off, they rarely use him. Which is too bad, because they've only gotten better and better at animation huge rushes of solid waste. A friend of mine is REALLY grossed out by poo, so is completely disgusted every time Mr. Hankey shows up, to the point of nearly getting sick. Particularly in the scene where he "writes" smiles on sleeping children with his ass.

-Mr. Hankey has a great origin- Trey Parker, as a child, had a tendency not to flush the toilet. Due to this, Trey's father told him that if he didn't flush, "Mr. Hankey" would come out and eat him. When they were designing South Park, Stone & Parker initially thought MR. HANKEY would be the protagonist, with the four boys as secondary characters. They pitched it to FOX of all stations (Talking shit! On FOX!), but executive Brian Graden said "I'm not putting poo on my network".

-Mr. Hankey has some unprecedented names for his Powers, and fits a PL 8 build so long as there is enough feces around to supply them (boy, THERE'S something you don't type every day while statting characters!). His small size makes him tough to hit, but he's not an overly great fighter without Poo Magic. He has helped the boys out a couple of times with his Poo-Choo Express- a locomotive constructed out of feces, which has taken the boys to the North Pole to see Santa Claus. He also once sported the Helicrapter, also constructed out of feces, which saved the boys when they became stranded after trying to get out of ziplining. Finally, they also witness his Seven Turdy Seven, a giant aircraft (of similar construction to the last two vehicles).

-Ms. Choksondik is a reference to Mrs. Krabappel on The Simpsons, as she has a name that features an obvious insulting joke, but the schoolchildren somehow miss it entirely ("My name... is Ms. Choksondik" "haha, more like Ms. Makes-Me-Sick!" *everyone laughs*). An obese woman with pendulous breasts and a lazy eye, she's a visual gag, but otherwise an almost normal teacher. When the boys show a lack of respect (Cartman leaps up and goes "KISSSSSSS MY ASS!", but the other boys are too stunned by her appearance to go through with their planned hazing), she is mortified, and has to be taught by their former teacher, Mr. Garrison, how to treat them. Next time a student suggests she suck their balls, she calmly says "... present them." When the student is too shocked to respond, she taunts him- "Well, come on- whip 'em out!". This mollifies the students into realizing their new teacher isn't such a pushover.

-Ms. Choksondik appears in only a handful of episodes before she is killed off- as the boys put some Sea People in her coffee as a joke, they are horrified to discover that upon her death, what they hear as "sea men" was found in her stomach. In desperation, they confess to Chef what happened, but he himself misunderstands, and immediately shoves the boys out of his home (he later laughs in relief, happily stating "I thought you had taken turns raping and murdering your teacher!"). Cartman locates the "sea men" while hiding himself in Ms. Choksondik's naked cadaver, then places them back in with the other Sea People the boys had. The combination of what is actually Mr. Mackey's sperm and the Sea People eventually creates a super-civilization, which rapidly grows in size and scope, before it splits off as the Cartman-worshipping ones and the Tweek-worshipping ones kill each other. This is a whole-plot reference to a Simpsons Halloween episode which was in itself a reference to a Twilight Zone episode.

Prejudice (Homosexual)- "But we're not gay, Phillip!" "We're not?!?". Though the two marry the Queef Sisters in Canada, Phillip has been seen to have some feelings towards Terrance.
Relationship (Celine Dion)- Terrance used to date Celine Dion, and his "bastard daughter" is hers. She later marries the obviously-hideous Ugly Bob, though may have broken up with him following the revelation that he was not actually Handsome Bob.

-One of the earliest South Park gags was their watching of the reptititive TV program Terrance and Phillip, which featured nothing but two laughing guys with flapping heads farting on each other. Initially thought of as a cartoon, it was eventually revealed that the pair (and, in fact, ALL Canadians) looked like that. Matt & Trey based the pair off of Beavis and Butt-Head, and the controversies they caused- Kenny dying by lighting his fart on fire in the Movie inspires a huge backlash, the same way a kid who'd supposedly "watched an episode" with the pyromaniac Beavis ended up burning down his trailer and killing his sister. Matt & Trey, as you might imagine, were HUGE B&B fans back in the day. The fart humor of the two is based off of critical accusations sent after Matt & Trey, as well.

-In South Park: Bigger Longer and Uncut, they get the show-stopping number Unclefucker, in which each one accuses the other of being the one to, in fact, have sexual intercourse with their own parent's brother. They also inspire the stunt that gets Kenny killed, which causes the mothers of South Park to lead a full assault into Canada, getting the U.S. government to declare a war on the country. Terrance and Phillip are taken captive and executed by Sheila Broflovski, which is the act that allows Satan and his legions to break free from Hell and invade Earth. The two are resurrected by movie's end.

-More recent episodes have seen them split up and get back together, hype a movie sequel (Asses of Fire 2), and eventually lead to ANOTHER assault from America, as Kyle goads President Garrison into nuking Toronto. They now appear inexplicably aged.
