Complications
Fight for the Underdog: Liam is all about helping the underdog and will do so often without question.
Motivation - Doing Good: Liam isn't worried about redeeming anything anymore, just being a good person
Relationship: Liam still has feelings for Napalm, though he tries to keep them under wraps due to her return to villainy. He is also the secret brother of Malcolm Barrett, a top AEGIS officer, and knowledge of that relationship could impact his career.
Reputation: Recently, Liam was caught on camera with Napalm, and that has brought back talk about his possible villain status. He was fired from Nevex corporation, and the Board of Directors have distanced themselves from him.

History
Liam is the son of the insane villain Locust whose sole purpose was to cure Liam of his muscular dystrophy before the disease killed him. On the day of the Invasion, Locust did just that and then gave his life to protect Liam from the aliens while the process was working. Liam was found and trained by Napalm, the villainous daughter of one of his father's associates. But when she tried to get him to kill someone, he refused and they split.

Liam was among the heroes targeted by a villain from the future, Lord Steel, and became a founding member of the Champions. Seeing an older Napalm die at Lord Steel's hands caused Liam to start a quest to redeem her. Liam came into contact with other mutagenic compounds causing him to mutate into an alien lifeform. After being cured, he became possessed by a psionic entity and was later kidnapped by the PsiOps division of AEGIS. He was rescued and the head of PsiOps was taken into custody, and he left the team to take over his father's old company.

Liam later lost the psionic powers defending the poisoned king of Dakana, but Michelle was able to use the sacred herb to recreate the original mutagenic formula without the alien elements that caused him to mutate. Restoring his original physical abilities, the Board of his company set him up with some new gear and a tactical operations expert so he could continue to fight crime without directly endangering the company.

Tasha was working with the clandestine group, Project Cerebrus, to earn her freedom from prison. She would occasionally have liaisons with Liam while on a mission. One time, pictures were taken of them together and released to the press. While Tasha's presence in prison was "confirmed," there were too many unanswered questions. Liam being connected to Tasha - a known supervillain - brought serious heat on his company.

To protect the company, he accepted "termination" from the Board of Directors at Nevex and sold all the shares of his company to the board. With no more need protect the company's image, Liam returned to Phoenix Bay and returned to his original identiy, Locust.

COMPLICATIONS:
Enemies: Arcanis made a lot of enemies and many of them would like to take some revenge on Jason. While they usually don't get violent, the Order of Merlin won't accept Jason leaving and keeps trying to get him back under their control.
Fights for the underdog: Jason tends to side with the underdog in most situations. This can cause him to choose the wrong side at times.
Motivation - Family Honor: Jason wants to protect and uphold his father's legacy.
Power Loss: Jason must be able to gesture and move his hands to use Sorcery Array
Reputation: Jason is well known in the magical community as the son of the magical hero, Arcanis. Some blame Jason for Arcanis' retirement. Also, Jason's association with the Order of Merlin for the past few years will color his interactions with the magical community.

BACKGROUND:
Arcanis was a powerful wizard who served with the Justice Guild in the eighties and nineties. When he retired with a child to raise, everyone just assumed he adopted a lost child on one of his adventures.

Jason spent his first few years growing up in seclusion. His father's mind was slipping, and he was too proud to ask anyone for help. So he locked the two of them away in his sanctum. Jason was tutored by magical creatures and spirits conjured by his father. And at night, he would often dream about high adventure. He would join a party of adventures, fight monsters and dragons, and save kingdoms.

On his tenth birthday, a woman who was a dead ringer for one of the characters in his dreams arrived. Selby was a witch from another dimension. She explained that she met his father many years ago, and they shared many adventures together. On one of those adventures, they conceived Jason. Selby insisted his father raise him because she could see his infirmity beginning to show, and he needed a reason to retire. The dreams Jason had were her connecting to him while he slept, the only way she could be with him.

However, his father's infirmity was becoming dangerous, especially to young Jason. So she brought the two of them to her world. Jason quickly learned that Selby's world was just like in his dreams, with heroes fighting monsters with sword and spell. Not wanting to disappoint her son, Selby cast magical wards on Jason to protect him from harm.

For many years, Jason lived and adventured in this magical world while his father regained some of his faculties and was able to live a somewhat normal life. But eventually, his father passed away, his dying wish was to be buried back on Earth, the world he loved and protected. So Jason and his mother returned with his father's remains and had them buried on Earth.

At the funeral, he was approached by the Order of Merlin. When asked how his father had died, Jason chose to protect his father's legacy and say he died defending Phoenix Bay in the recent invasion. The Order asked him to join them, to take his father's place. Deciding it was a great way to honor his father's legacy - and with his mother's permission, Jason agreed. His mother returned to her world and Jason began his life back on Earth.

For the next couple of years, Jason served with the order and learned from them. He chaffed under their arrogance and rigid adherence to tradition. They wanted to turn him into a junior version of his father, even so far as giving his a costume like the one his father wore. Still they helped him expand his magical knowledge. Recently, he discovered they knew about the invasion weeks in advance but didn't warn anyone. When he confronted them, they told him it was no big deal, none of their order were threatened. This infuriated him, causing him to leave the Order and go on his own. The Order is not willing to accept this as he has many of their "secrets."

Hunted: Despite his heroic acts, Tyrael is still hunted by some of the demon hunters out there. In addition, demon bounty hunters want him dead for those same heroic acts.
Motivation-Doing Good: Tyrael learned the value of being good from the friendship of Kris Majax and Alicia.
Relationships: Tyrael is friends with Alicia, a psychic teenage girl.

Background
Tyrael started out as a rank and file warrior demon who always excelled above the rest. His powers grew as did his victories until he was rewarded with life above. He was placed inside of a human as part of the bargain with the goal of corrupting him. Unfortunately for the Crossroads Demon, it worked the other way. Tyrael changed by the influence of Kris, or more accurately, a little girl they saved from a cult. Alicia was gifted and never once flinched or reacted negatively to Tyrael. She insisted he was a hero, and that he would always protect her.

Enemies of his demon clan wanted Alicia and Tyrael did find himself protecting her quite a bit. Then one day, his clan ordered him to use their relationship and take her captive for the clan. Next thing he knew, he was helping Kris protect her. This made him an outcast with demon bounty hunters joining the quest to kill him. Kris and Tyrael ended up in Phoenix Bay where they helped the yet to be named Champions on a few missions. Afterward, they decided a trial separation only to be made permanent by a witch's curse. Her goal was to turn Tyrael back to the side of evil by removing all the human influence from him. However, she underestimated him, and he continued to act like a hero.

Background
Kris was a rising young star in the magic scene when a car accident left him crippled. He tried everything to regain use of his legs, but nothing worked until a man in a black suit promised a miracle cure. After getting the paperwork out of the way, the man revealed himself to be a demon and proceeded to bond a demon to him. At first, Kris refused to use the powers granted him, so the Crossroads Demon presented opportunities to help people endangered by rival demon clans. Kris worked with the demon inside him named Tyrael to save the people but refused to cross the line. In fact, it was the pair of them saving a young girl named Alicia that caused Tyrael to switch sides.

Tyrael and Kris worked well together for years, even working with the Champions in Phoenix Bay until a witch cursed them to be apart. While they defeated the witch, they could not undo the curse. So Kris moved to New Orleans, a city Tyrael wasn't allowed to go to anyway, and setup a magic shop (both stage and legitimate) there since his career as a street mage was over.

Complications:
Enemy: Philip has been fighting various mystic villains as he has moved about the country; he also is battling a
mysterious digital entity in cyberspace who wants him to stay away.
Family: Philip's father, Reizo Saito, is trying to force Philip to move back to Freedom City and control him. He has other
family members with their own agenda regarding this turn of events.
Motivation: Doing Good: Philip is determined to use the Dragon's powers to do good
Reputation: Philip is an outsider in the magical community

Background:
Philip grew up knowing that it was his brother Grant who would inherit the family kami and become a hero. His real
interests lied in science anyway. While he was away at graduate school, his older brother was investigating some
demonic activity in Phoenix Bay when the Armada came. Like the other heroes present, his brother fell to the
Armada's forces.

Instead of waiting for the next generation like was tradition, the kami came to Philip, in the form of a dragon.
With his Sensei's training, he was able to master control of the dragon. He also found the Dragon's presence awakened
other abilities inside of him with technology, making Philip able to work with technomagic.

Originally thinking he would join Grant as s superhero using science and technology, now Philip was on a new
path. He spent time travelling around the country, trying to avoid his father's control, until a street mage he
helped out contacted him about helping some friends in Phoenix Bay. In Phoenix Bay, his new technomagic
abilities were key in defeating Lord Steel's Iron Curtain and allowed the Champions to defeat the villain from the future.

Philip encountered Lucienne Lightbringer who attempted to steal the Dragon, which he learned was Seiryu, the Azure Dragon.
Rather than let the villain steal the Dragon, Philip forced it into cyberspace to protect him. His connection to the Dragon was
changed forever, creating a strong connection to cyberspace and shifted his natural abilities to technomancy and digital magic.

Complications
Enemy: The villain Professor Zed is trying to get Treylin back on track to being like him.
Motivation: Responsibility: Treylin knows that his intelligence puts him at a level to affect changes that most can't. He feels an obligation to battle evil like his alternate self.
Quirk: Before finding out about Professor Zed, he was interested in art. He enjoys drawing and studying art of all types. He can easily be distracted by unique and interesting works of art.
Relationship: Treylin started a relationship with Sara, the sister of a hero on one world he hid in. When Zed found them, Treylin fled. Sara was somehow blasted into The Below Place and was spit out of a wormhole near Treylin. Sara was mutated by the Below Place and the full effects of which have yet to be seen.
Secret: Treylin is secretly Evron Zediker, an alternate version of Professor Zed. Many beings in the multiverse think he is destined to become the same villain.

Background
Evron Zediker was a typical teenage super-genius who spent his time drawing and studying art. His teachers and counselor - as well as his parents - were all eager for him to move on to college and do great things with his life. Then one day he was attacked by two figures out of a bad sci-fi movie. They called him "Professor Zed" and tried to kill him for "crimes against the multiverse." He was saved by the timely arrival of an older man in super-advanced armor carrying a hi-tech scepter.

This man warned him that there were many people out to kill him for something a parallel version of him did. Evron agreed to go with him to spare his family and friends the constant threat of these would-be killers. Evron trained with the old man and learned about multidimensional physics. He outfitted Evron with his own armor which Evron used to fend off the steady stream of people seeking to kill him and his older mentor.

Eventually, Evron realized the older man was a parallel version of himself, from a dimension with a slightly faster time constant. These people trying to kill him were actually after the older Professor Zed. Evron fled his older self, not liking the man he had turned into.

He found Earth 1202 with a team of heroes who opposed Professor Zed and went for help. Afraid they would attack him outright, he made up a new identity and stayed with the Sentinels. He became good friends with the younger sister of the hero Xeno. Unfortunately, the false identity he chose began to unravel and the Sentinels confronted him right as he was about to tell the teenage girl the truth about himself.

The timing sucked as this was when Professor Zed found him and came to get him back. The Sentinels thought this was some elaborate trap and Evron found himself in a three-way fight with the Sentinels and Professor Zed. Even Xeno's sister turned on him, yelling at him like he was a disgusting villain. He fled that Earth and realized Zed could find him anywhere through the armor. So he put in safeguards that even he couldn't break to keep the Quantum core from being detected.

He found another dimension and decided to try again only avoiding the mistakes he made last time. He began traveling with a group of outcasts from many different worlds. Deciding his armor was tying him to Zed's destiny, he sacrificed it and the small pocket dimension refuge he created to create a power source for one of his new friends' powers. He is now relying on his own wits and gadgets, abandoning everything the older Professor Zed gave him.

Edit 1: Added Universal Translator to armor.
Edit 2: Added 2 ranks each: Deception, Insight, Persuasion

Enemy: Leighton developed many enemies from supernatural forces and now that he is gone, more than a few would like to get some revenge on Dennis.
Identity: Dennis doesn't have a normal idenitity. He doesn't know who is mother is, nor does he know for sure Leighton was his father. He has no actual birth certificate and doesn't know his true past.
Motivation - Doing Good: Dennis was taken in by the family of a police officer after Leighton died. Officer Miller worked hard to bring in the gang member that killed Leighton and show Dennis that the system works when good people do what is right. So Dennis is trying to hard to follow Miller's example.
Power Loss: The Young Mage can't cast any of his "spell" effects if his hands are bound or he can't speak.

Background
Dennis spent most of his childhood traveling with his father, Leighton, fighting against various supernatural forces. He started to pick up magic just by watching his dad who eventually started "formally" training him to avoid him going down the wrong path.

When he was twelve, Leighton was shot during a robbery of a convenience store he stumbled upon. Dennis didn't know what to do. He was befriended by a police officer, Terry Miller. Dennis was burning with anger over his father's death and currently being ignored in a foster home. Terry worked hard to bring the gang member to justice. He also decided to adopt Dennis, giving him a home and a family, including a mom and brother.

Two years later, they were out at a park when they were targeted by the gang of Leighton's killer. Dennis used his magic to save his family, revealing it to Terry for the first time. Though surprised, Terry talked Dennis down from exacting revenge.

Afterward, he arranged for Dennis to attend Vanguard Academy.

Adopted Family:
Father - Terry
Mother - Anna
Brother - Cole (13)
Sister - Sierra (7)

Complications
Motivation: Thrills: At first, Andrew is looking for something to replace the thrill he got from controlling people. Going the cape route is much more appealing as the challenge getting by without is telepathy is starting to appeal to him.
Power Loss: Andrew's mom can take away any of his powers at a distance.
Relationship: Andrew is the younger half-brother of Troy Alexander; they share the same mother.
Reputation: Andrew has a history as a supervillain. He is also known to be the half brother of Troy Alexander.
Secret: Andrew is the son of Menton, something he only found out recently. His mother and two clone brothers know this and that's three more people than he is comfortable with.
Watched: Andrew was a villain and many people are keeping a close eye on him. He knows that if he does anything wrong, his mom will take away all of his powers.

Defense
Dodge 7, Parry 7, Fortitude 7, Toughness 3/7/13, Will 13

Power Points
Abilities 44 + Powers 58 + Advantages 7 + Skills 35 + Defenses 21 = 165

Background
When Troy Alexander was three years old, his mother went away. For a year he was raised by his father and a neighbor. Afterwards, his mother returned and everything went back to normal. He doesn't remember her ever being gone.

Menton approached Alicia Alexander. He wanted a progeny and she was the most powerful telepath and thus the only suitable choice. She wanted nothing to do with Menton, but when he threatened to expose Forton to the world in general and the Labyrinth in specific, she left with him to protect her family.

She gave birth to a baby boy about a year later and Menton dismissed her, taking the child. He placed the child with appropriate foster parents and tutors, eventually having Andrew sent to the best bordering schools. Menton never visited his son, always watcing from afar. He just had the right teachers show up at the right time and watched as the boy's telepathic powers grew, along with his contempt for humanity.

When an opportunity to test Andrew against some heroes arised, he manipulated the situation so Andrew would join the team. He almost single handedly defeated the SA Avengers until they did something completely unexpected and knocked him out.

Andrew had no interest in fighting with superheroes again, but then he was attacked. Menton had died in Las Vegas and was looking for a new host body. While not as strong as Menton, Andrew was an Omega-class telepath and able to fend off his father's attaempt to take over his body.

Afterward, Andrew was confused. He now knew who his father was, but that same father just tried to possess him. And worse, it was the SA Avengers fault. So he decided to take revenge. He sought out the villain girlfriend of one of the members and convinced her that he could give him back to her. So they set a trap for Ferrous and Andrew went in and turned him back into a villain. But he pushed even more insane and Ferrous was going to try and destroy the world. After the SA Avnegers stopped him, Ferrous' girfriend came to Andrew for revenge. Caught off guard by the ferocity and sheer insanity of the women, he suffered mortal injuries and was only rescued by the timely arrival of his Mother and two clone brothers.

Andrew was taken to a hospital and eventually to the Academy medical and restored to health. His mother wanted desperately to turn him around, but he had no interest in playing the cape role. That is, until his Mom completely shut down all of his powers. She said if he proved himself at the Academy, she would give him some of his powers back. After several years of good behavior and learning to cope without his telepathy, Andrew's mother restored his telekinetic abilities.

He trained with these powers and found that playing the hero was the closest he could come to the thrill he got form using his telepathy. He realizes that his Mom will probably never give him his telepathic abilities back, but he is starting to like life without them. They really did make things to easy after all.

Complications
Motivation: Thrills: Ryan is in the hero biz because it gives him more thrills and excitement than his old life of crime.
Quirk: Ryan’s control over his powers is iffy and sometimes they choose different targets. Also, sometimes he gets lost in shadow world when he is shadow walking and may spend much longer getting where he is trying to go.
Secret: While not a convicted criminal, Ryan is favored by police for several thefts.
Weakness: Ryan takes additional damage from light based attacks

Background
Ryan was a better than average thief working in Emerald City on the day of the Silver Storm. He was casing an art gallery only to learn a small gang had cased it a few days earlier and were robbing the place at that moment. The Silver Storm erupted, leaving Ryan with shadow based powers. In his frustration over the other thieves robbing his target, his new shadow powers lashed out and took them all out. The visitors and staff of the gallery cheered him on.

Deciding this new abilities could be useful in his life of crime, Ryan decided to visit the gallery vault after hours, but found no thrill in it, especially not compared to the one he got from the cheers from stopping the other thieves. He left the vault's contents alone and tried to figure out what he should do next.

Unknown to him, Maximillian Mars had several items from his personal collection in the vault, with it's own independent security. He used the footage of Ryan's break in to find the young man and offer him an opportunity to leave the dead end path he was on and join his new team.

Complications
Enemy: The villain Professor Zed is trying to get Treylin back on track to being like him.
Holding Back: Treylin put serious safeguards and limitations on the quantum core in his armor. While it greatly reduces its power, releasing them would cause him to light up on all of Professor Zed's sensors.

His teachers and counselor - as well as parents, were all eager for him to move on to college and do great things with his life.

Complications
Unceasing rage: In this state Sara is little more than a rampaging green rage monster, transforming back once calmed.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Background
Sara is the younger sister of the superhero Xeno on Earth 1202. She knew about her sister's encounter and "merger" with the alien and had become a sort of mascot for the Emerald City Sentinels. When a young man from another dimension named Treylin came to the Sentinels for help, she and him became fast friends.

After several weeks, he took her aside to tell him his secret. She knew he had one but never pushed, letting him tell her when she was ready. Unfortunately, just as he was about to tell her, Sara's sister and the other Sentinels came in accusing him of being one of their greatest foes. She was confused and when she looked in his eyes, she could tell - it was all true.

Then Professor Zed showed up and started yammering on about it being a plan to get inside the team and rip them apart from there. Treylin disappeared and a battle started. Energy blasts flew and her sister went down protecting her. Then another flash and...

Sara woke up on a space station. Treylin was there saying there had been some kind of accident and she had been exposed to gamma radiation. Treylin explained the truth about his past and Sara came to understand why he fled when he did. She decided to stay with Treylin and his friends who were on some intergalactic mission of something rather than try to go home only to be a target for Professor Zed.

Complications
Motivation: Doing Good: Colin is motivated to helping people in trouble anywhere. He is especially fond of helping the underdog.
Reputation: Colin has a long and a bit checkered past as a superhero. While mostly good, his mistake, retirement, and stand offish years are remembered by some.
Weakness: Any Drains against his bands energy also drain his Enhanced Stamina and Invulnerability.

Background
Colin Ford was an ordinary junior high student until his best friend gained superpowers during a field trip that accidentally encountered a superhero battle. Colin was excited for his friend and tried to help his friend start his superhero career. Colin spent months covering for his friend, so he could go out and fight villains and generally help people as the hero Steel.

It was during one such event that Colin met the strange alien with the Photonic Bands. Colin didn't understand what the alien was saying, but the alien was a cop who came to Earth to track down a criminal known as Koria. She and her men had ambushed him and he was dying. He wanted Colin to use the bands to destroy his ship so Koria couldn't leave the planet. But with the Universal Translator out, Colin didn't understand. When he saw the bands were weapons, and some of Koria's enforcers arrived, he thought the alien wanted him to stop the criminals.

Unfortunately, the bands were minor weapons and Colin was nearly gunned down by the criminals. It was here when he discovered he had the ability to absorb massive amounts of energy. Still overmatched, he was saved when Steel arrived and helped him route the bad guys. Unfortunately, Koria found the cop's ship and escaped.

Over the next months, the powers provided by the bands began to grow quickly. The bands ability to channel even the smallest amounts of solar radiation coupled with Colin's ability to absorb energy proved to be quite a potent combo. He eventually joined Steel as a junior member of the local super-team, the Rangers, and they had many adventures together. As some of the founders stepped away, Colin - now called Photon - and Steel found themselves the most experienced members of the teams. And even though they were still school age, the others were often turning to them for info about past villains and missions. And even though he was still in High School, Colin found himself in a quasi-leadership role.

Until Koria returned. Colin led the team onto Koria's massive ship in a fairly aggressive attack. Unfortunately, things proved too much and the team found themselves trapped. The team only escaped because Steel sacrificed himself so the others could escape. Full of guilt and shame over his failure, Colin retired from super heroics, finished school, and left to California for college.

It was during the Ursurper's attack, that Colin realized he couldn't stand by any longer. He put on the bands and saved as many people as he could. He went back to the hero life but refused to work with anyone. Even for short term missions.

Then Koria returned. Colin attacked Koria's ship, and this time he was ready for anything she threw at him. Or so he thought. The whole thing was a trap to take him out, and he was hit with the same disruptor weapon that killed Steel. As the disruptor ray overtook him, he closed his eyes and waited.

When he woke up he was in a different land. The disruptor ray didn't kill him, but it sent him to another dimension. And there he found his friend Steel. Steel had made a life for himself and was very happy. Time passed more quickly on this dimension, so while only a few years passed for Colin, twenty had passed for his friend. He had found a way back home years ago, but he had a family and good life here. So after recovering from his injuries, Colin was sent back to his world.

He arrived back on Koria's ship seconds after he left, and took down the space pirate. He even met other space cops who took her into custody and said they were proud to call him a colleague for dealing with such a major threat on his own.

Exorcised of his demons, Colin returned to the world of superheroing in full force. And not a moment too soon. It was shortly after this that Viper made their big push, and Colin was part of the coordinated effort to put them down.
