Injustice: Absolute (Young) Justice OOC

Post by endwaar »

This is our new OOC thread. Feel free to scrawl your various emblems across it when you have the time. Below is copied from the recruitment thread.
I wrote: The Regime has fallen - permanently. Between the Insurgency's successful overthrow a year ago, and the Brainiac Invasion shortly thereafter which resulted in their primary proponents being imprisoned - and mostly depowered. Superman himself was sent to the Phantom Zone after a magical ritual and golden kryptonite stripped him of his powers completely, while Wonder Woman was likewise exiled, but into Tartarus, where her powers avail her naught.

The New Justice League, with Batman at its head, is slowly rebuilding itself, while the people of the world strive to determine the shape the world shall take in the future. Bruce and Selina Wayne's wedding was seen as a sign of hope and rebirth in these dark days, and while many factions dispute over what the next steps ought to be, no one questions that the New Justice League will prove instrumental in ensuring that the people have the right to make that choice, free of fear of the Regime and other superhuman-backed societies like it.

Into this, young heroes must stride, discovering themselves even as they perform their heroic duties.

Timeline of Recent Events
  • Year One
  • Joker tricks Superman into killing Lois Lane and his unborn child, and the rest of Metropolis dies with them.
  • Superman kills Joker, taking the first steps on his path to becoming a tyrant.
  • Superman removes dozens of prisoners from Arkham, placing them in a “secure place” and killing a few of them. Damien Wayne kills (accidentally) Nightwing, when he throws his staff at the back of his neck.
  • The Titans – Superboy, Wonder Girl, Starfire, and Red Robin – are exiled into the Phantom Zone when Superboy lashes out at Superman and Superman breaks his ribs, piercing his heart. There they remain for the duration of the upcoming war.
  • Apokolips invades, and Superman kills Darkseid’s son.
  • Batman founds what will eventually become the Insurgency, and Superman declares him a criminal.
  • Batman, Black Canary, Catwoman, and Green Arrow all arrive at the Fortress of Solitude. Superman thinks that the team out to steal the green pill is actually there to hurt his parents, and beats Ollie to death with his bare hands when he accidentally hurts Pa Kent.
  • Superman pulls a Bane and breaks Batman’s back, after publicly revealing his identity.
  • Wonder Woman is cast into a coma by the death of Captain Atomic, as he tries to kill Superman.
  • Sinestro kills Kyle Rayner, destroying his ring, before going down to Earth, where he “surrenders” to Superman.
    Year Two
  • The Green Lanterns and the Guardians decide that Superman has become a threat, and order his arrest.
  • John Stewart and Hal Jordan refuse to be held on Oa whilst Superman is being imprisoned, and fly back to Earth.
  • John is killed by Sinestro, who blames Guy Gardener, driving Hal Jordan into a rage that causes him to kill Gardener, and taints him.
  • Sinestro blackmails Hal into accepting a yellow ring when Hal loses his green ring whilst flying and holding Carol Ferris due to Ganthet’s revocation of his title at the worst time, and the two eventually convince Superman to accept a yellow ring himself.
  • Flash, Damien Wayne, Cyborg, and Raven are all captured.
    Year Three
  • John Constantine, whose daughter’s mother died due to the war with the Green Lanterns, escapes to Doctor Fate’s Tower alongside her.
  • He gathers Detective Chimp and bargains with demons – revealing to him and Batman that he’s holding Raven.
  • The Spectre aligns itself with Superman, despite his tyrannical ways.
  • The Deadman dies when the Spectre destroys him. His patroness allows him to nominate his successor, and he nominates Dick Greyson, who accepts the title without hesitation.
  • Superman is cast into a deep coma-like sleep, even as Wonder Woman awakens from hers.
  • Superman gives up the yellow ring to Diana, awakened by Ares’ magic, and Wonder Woman crushes it.
  • Superman comes to rescue the imprisoned Regime allies, only to be faced by Trigon.
  • Mr. Mxyzptlk reveals that he was masquerading as the Spectre the entire time, protecting his investment in annoying Superman, and the battle spirals out of control.
  • Huntress dies as Wonder Woman breaks her neck with the lasso of truth.
    Year Four
  • The Greek Gods decide, on Ares’ manipulations, to war with Superman.
  • In a contest of champions intended to be to the death, Wonder Woman is forced to fight Superman as Zeus himself watches on. She breaks Superman's arm, and is nearer to victory than any before her before Sinestro blasts her, destroying the sanctity of the trial by combat.
  • The results are rather predictable, and Superman (somehow) wins his war with the gods.
    Year Five
  • Nightwing, now the new Deadman, for some inscrutable reason known only to him, gives Damien (the little brat) his Nightwing outfit.
  • Batman and Lex Luthor work together to prepare to create a way to summon the Justice League of an uncorrupted Earth, and Batwoman dies to help do just that.
  • Injustice: Gods Among Us takes place - Gotham City is destroyed, the Metropolis that was rebuilt is destroyed.
    Year Six
  • The Regime has fallen, but Jason Todd takes the mantle of Batman, and creates his own Suicide Squad in service to Ra’s al Ghul’s ecoterrorist organization, one that gradually morphs into Grodd’s Society.
  • Kara Zor-El arrives on Earth, and is quickly taken into Khandaq, where Wonder Woman (once freed by renegade Amazons), Black Adam, and Damien Wayne (the brat) indoctrinate her with their point of view.
  • Tim Drake dies when Dru-Zod escapes the Phantom Zone alongside the Titans and kills him, only to be executed himself by the AMAZO android that Ra’s and the others.
  • The AMAZO android destroys Dhubai very nearly, with only a combined effort of the victorious Insurgents, the returned Titans, and the defeated Regime Remnants, culminating in Supergirl destroying it on the Moon.
  • Injustice 2 takes place, and Batman wins his battle with Superman.
  • Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle are married, though not without its unique crashers – Athanasia al Ghul, Damien Wayne, and other supervillains attempt to crash the party, but fail.
  • The reconstruction of Gotham, Coast City, and Metropolis are getting back up on their feet.
  • Injustice: Absolute (Young) Justice begins.
The New Justice League
  • Batman - Publicly known to be Bruce Wayne, Batman is one of the leaders of the New League.
  • Catwoman - Though only a nominal member, Selina Wayne is a part of the Justice League nowadays. Who'd've thunk?
  • Harleen Quinzel - When she's not running her own gang of vigilantes (Harleen's Horde) in New Gotham, Harleen serves as Batman's second fairly often.
  • Supergirl - As Superman's cousin, Kara Zor-El works to redeem her family's symbol in the eyes of the Earth.
  • Black Canary
  • Green Arrow - From another dimension where he lost his own Dinah, Oliver Queen remains in the New Justice League, and is a part of the circle of wealthy rebuilders of the world.
  • Green Lantern - Though still unpopular on Earth, Green Lantern has redeemed himself in the eyes of the Guardians (somehow), and once again Hal Jordan serves as the Green Lantern of the sector.
  • Zatanna - The New League's prime magician, Zatanna works to keep many of the prisoners locked in the late Dr. Fate's tower. She helped to depower Superman earlier this year.
  • Firestorm
  • The Ghost - As part of his ongoing efforts to redeem himself, Barry Allen has adopted the name of Ghost, until such a time as he feels worthy of being the Flash once more.
  • Steel - In the wake of her uncle's death, Natasha Irons took on the role of Steel, and remains as a member of the New Justice League.
The Titans
The Titans current primary mission is hunting down Damien Wayne to bring him (brutally) to justice for his crimes during the Regime's reign, as well as for the manslaughter of Dick Greyson. Starfire in particular is absolutely burning with rage about the whole matter.
  • Starfire - Starfire is the leader of the Titans, and seeks to bring Damien Wayne (the brat) to justice. Her rage drives her to push herself harder than she ever has before, and while the Titans do participate in other missions, their hunt for Damien and leads to him are their driving mission nowadays.
  • Wonder Girl (Cassie Sandsmark) - Wonder Girl works with the Titans, who are the only family she truly has left now that Zeus and Wonder Woman are both in their various distant locales. Having been betrayed by her idol and seen her cater to the worst whims of humanity has done little to dampen her willingness to fight the good fight, but the sunny innocence of her youth has been dimmed by five years in the Phantom Zone.
  • Superboy - Now more determined than ever to uplift the legacy of Superman, Superboy wears a facsimile of Kal-El's old suit, hoping to redeem it in the eyes of the world. His new heart troubles him, because it is, symbolically, the heart of the murderer and conqueror Dru-Zod, who killed Tim Drake, his best friend.
  • Batgirl - As a co-leader of the Titans, Barbara Gordon keeps Starfire grounded and from leaping off the deep end. Though she shares the anger her alien counterpart feels about the death of Dick Greyson, hers is cooler, and she helps to organize and direct many of the modern heroes, especially the Titans.
  • Red Arrow - Roy Harper has joined the Titans at Barbara's request. As close to Dick as he was, he hopes to mediate some of Koriand'r's anger about his death and prevent her from jumping headlong into the same pit that Superman drowned himself in (metaphorically speaking). Red Arrow has yet to deal with Ollie's return from the dead - or arrival from an alternate dimension, as the case is, and must seek some peace with the idea of not being the lone arrow-using hero any longer.
  • Miss Martian - Miss Martian brings some much-needed levity to the team, as a relatively new member, she had just arrived on Earth after the Regime began its rise. Her uncle and sponsor, the Martian Manhunter, helped her to find a place to hide out on Earth with the Insurgency until the Regime fell, and now she seeks to honor his memory by fighting alongside the Titans. She has an unrequited crush on Superboy.
  • Blue Beetle
  • Empress - A member of the original Young Justice, when the Regime took over, Anita Fite's reincarnated parents - still babies at the time - were taken from her to be raised by "more responsible hands." She joined the Insurgency to seek them out, but has yet to find them. Privately, she hopes that finding Damien Wayne will let her find what she's looking for, as he had some of the highest Regime clearances in the world.
  • Orphan (Cassandra Cain) - One of the most skilled fighters in the world, Orphan is Cassandra Cain, the daughter of a prominent member of the League of Assassins. Trained from birth to fight and kill, but unwilling to actually do the latter, Orphan has become a protege for Batgirl in many ways, and fills in her shoes sometimes when fighting alongside the Titans.
Independent Heroes
  • The Ragman – Joshua Greenstein inherited the rags of the Ragman, and has consulted frequently with his rabbi to understand its true nature. Now he is a defender of the Jewish people, and all others that are oppressed, bending the rags to his own will.
  • Azrael – Michael Lane attempted to remain neutral in the battle between the Regime and the Insurgency, but his tendencies made him lean towards the insurgents, something that Superman realized. Michael was imprisoned and tormented by the Order of St. Dumas, who supported Superman. Eventually, the Order of Purity helped him to escape.
  • Deadman – Dick Grayson is now the new Deadman, who has seen his world burn to the ground, helpless to prevent it. He is now more active than he has been, but he is busy learning the tricks of his new trade.
  • The Atom (Ryan Choi) - Ryan Choi spends much of his time looking for his predecessor, who had taken on the duty of Superman's self-appointed warden before the man had broken out of his previous cage during the events of Brainiac's invasion.
  • Wonder Woman – Nubia keeps to Themyscira for the most part, waiting for the wounds inflicted by her predecessor to heal before returning to the mantle of Wonder Woman – at the moment, the Amazons need to recalibrate themselves as they spawned the one to encourage the Regime.

[ 1pp] (AE) Psychic Strings: Affliction 14 (Will; Dazed, Compelled, Controlled), Cumulative

[ 5pp] Mind Shield: Immunity 10 (Mental Effects), Limited to Half Effect
Complications:
Motivation(Necessity): Victoria needs a drug derived from 5-U-93-R in order to keep her psychic powers stabilized, and without the means to produce the medication herself, Victoria has agreed to use her abilities as a heroine in exchange for a steady supply of the medication she needs.

Powerloss: If rendered helpless and searched, her stash of 5-U-93-R can be taken from her and will need to be recovered or replaced before she can utilize that power again. Victoria’s stabilisation medication is derived from 5-U-93-R and so she has been cleared to be provided the kryptonian drug which assists her medication in the stabilization of her powers.

Addiction: Victoria requires a synthesized gelcap drug hourly to maintain her mental stability. Symptoms begin to manifest shortly after any missed dose beginning with mood swings as her mind destabilizes, to hallucinations and excruciating pain as her psychic powers begin attempting to rip her mind apart, presumably followed eventually by madness from the pain. Taking the dose subdues the effects almost immediately, within a minute.

Homeless: Victoria was taken from her home and her parents killed when they resisted the “conscription” into the Inquisitor program. She has no other known family that survived the Regime, so Victoria in effect has nowhere to go outside of what she is provided.
Background:
In the time of the Regime, Superman had many projects in the works to further expand his influence and solidify his control further. One such project was a cabal of Psychic Inquisitors, humans whom through Kryptonian technology had their minds unlocked, granting access to psychic powers.

Unfortunately, this particular project had limited success, as most humans subjected to it, all of whom were screened for psychic potential beforehand and projected to having strong potential at that, either went mad or died violently as their own psychic powers ripped them apart, sometimes mentally, sometimes physically, sometimes both as their minds could not handle the sudden influx of power and did not have the chance to learn control before it overwhelmed them.

The Inquisitor program had not had a chance to be unleashed before the Regime’s fall and was discovered during investigations in the aftermath of Superman’s defeat. Victoria was the only subject of the program that was found in a sustainably stable state. With a potentially lifetime need of stabilization medication, Victoria accepted a deal in which she would use her powers for the benefit of the world in exchange for being provided the medication she needs.

For better of worse now, Vistoria is a superheroine out of necessity, but despite this, she has also seen and experienced enough suffering that she would not wish it upon others, making her less inclined towards lethal action and settling things non-violently if possible.
Personality:
Victoria can be a little unpredictable due to fluctuations in her mental state due to the instability of her psychic powers, but usually she is confident if not necessarily personable. Her experiences in the Inquisitor program over several years there being poked and prodded have hardened her somewhat, so she can come off abrasive or intense, but tends to err towards reticence to avoid upsetting those around her that she doesn’t mean to. She can also come off as a bit shy in dealing with others on a personal level due to her time spent being experimented on and not developing social skills.
Combat Role:
Between the raw physical power bestowed by the 5-U-93-R drug and her tactile telepathic powers, Victoria is a front-line brawler with limited personal mobility. Thanks to her tactile telepathic powers, Victoria can assault the body and mind simultaneously making her a very dangerous opponent up close.

Victoria’s tactile telepathy allows her to weaken enemies with psychic overloads, read minds and even control others for a limited time simply by touching them, including the brief moments of contact from a punch or kick.

Looking forward to working with you all.

As for the headquarters, I think we could each put in 1pp, either peeling one out now, or using our first earned PP for an HQ. As for where, I have no strong feelings.

At 1pp each, we'll have 20 points of equipment to build it, which we may not actually need and could even get a simple team transport vehicle and maybe someone can have ranks in vehicles to pilot it xD

Tobey Hollis remembers when seeing a man flying through the skies above the city was a sign of hope, not of tyranny. That was before Metropolis. His parents took part in protests against Superman's new Regime, but the protests were quelled, violently.

Zatanna arrived on the scene, introducing herself as a friend of his parents. She was too late to save them but she whisked him away to the Tower of Fate. There she told him he was something called a Homo magi, that he could wield magic.

Tobey watched from the shadows of the Tower as the Insurgency grew among the people visiting Doctor Fate's sanctuary. Zatanna taught him how to tap into his power, but kept him out of Batman's Insurgency, against Tobey's protests.

Tobey tried to copy her bravado and showmanship-like attitude to mask his own fear and anger. Then, when Brainiac came he saw the heroes of a world that didn't think they had any left rise up together to stop the alien menace.

For the first time in years, Tobey had hope again, of heroes stepping in to protect those who couldn't protect themselves. He wanted to spread that hope himself and help others. But the tyranny of the Regime left wounds in Tobey that haven't healed yet and he finds it hard to trust anyone connected to Superman's side, regardless of how cool he usually acts.

Tobey has black hair and an amused smirk seems to be constantly plastered on his face. He typically dresses like a traditional stage magician, in a black tux with a white lining on his coat.

Complications.

Motivation (Doing Good) - Tobey believes in restoring the hope and ideals of heroes before Superman's Reign and works to live up to it and help others.

Hatred (Regime) - Despite his apparent easy-going nature, Tobey has a hard time putting the deaths of his parents and forgiving or trusting anyone previously linked to the Regime.

Relationship (Zatanna, John Constantine) - Having been sheltered at the Tower of Fate during the Regime as well as tutored in magic by Zatanna and to an extent, John Constantine, Tobey looks up to both of them a great deal as mentors as well trying to occasionally emulate them in general.

Power Loss - needs to be able to speak to cast spells.

Edit: Spent the three remaining unspent points on 6 ranks of Sleight of Hand.

I'm likewise looking forward to playing in this game with you all.

Endwaar mentioned we'll start off at Gotham so maybe that'll be where we end setting up shop. Tobey doesn't really have a lot tying him to any given location right now, but I can fairly easily scratch off a point to throw into a communal pot for a HQ, or spend there later, which ever way the group decides to go.

As for team transport, unless we want a Flashmobile or a Quinjet, Tobey's teleportation can move the group 8 miles for local transportation.

HISTORY:
So here I am, doing everything I can
Holding on to what I am
Pretending I'm a Superman

“Wow,” a young woman snorted, “this song aged horribly.”

She was lightyears away from Earth on the planet Oa, the headquarters of the Green Lantern Corps, killing time by listening to music on a smartphone. It floated in front of her face, held up by a vivid emerald aura as she swiped through her playlist. The newest member of the Corps turned her head towards an approaching man; Hal Jordan, the other Green Lantern of Space Sector 2814.

“Janet, the Guardians are ready for you,” he said, motioning for her to follow.

The teenager reached up with the only arm she had and pulled the earbuds out. “So, what’s this all about exactly?”

“Nothing to worry about. The Guardians talk to each recruit about the duties of a Green Lantern. And I’m sure they have some questions for you.”

“This isn’t an interview, is it?” Janet huffed. “I mean, I already have the job, right? The ring chose me.”

“The circumstances surrounding your recruitment are special, not to mention the Guardians probably won’t be expecting someone,” Hal paused to choose his next words carefully, “so young.”

“We flew past someone that looked like Daffy Duck on the way here. Is a seventeen-year-old really so strange?”

“…Just try not to be rude to the Guardians, OK?”
-----
“You must understand, earthling, the Green Lantern Corps is a privileged organization. Not just anyone can join. There are tremendous commitments.”

When Janet was told she would be meeting the Guardians of the Universe, she admittedly was not expecting the group of blue-headed space masters that was addressing her. Just as Hal had warned, her youth had raised concerns of her ability to be a Green Lantern. Janet didn’t care much to be literally looked down on and was considering creating a construct over her mouth to keep from saying something she might regret.

“But more than that, the Green Lantern Ring is a complex tool. It takes someone with fierce concentration.”

“I think I pretty much got the hang of it,” Janet boasted.

“She’s ‘got the hang of it,’” another Guardian chided. “Why are we even entertaining this? She is not the one that Ring was meant for. Its bearer was supposed to be another!” The Guardians began to discuss among themselves, and Janet turned her head away in frustration. Yes, the Ring was meant for somebody else. It should have been her father’s, James Baker.
-----
For Janet’s family, life under the One Earth Regime wasn’t much different than their lives before that fateful day in Metropolis. If you weren't a criminal, whether that meant being a super-villain or simply not believing in High Councilor Superman's cause, and didn’t go out after curfew you were left alone. Janet remembered the day Superman told the world that Batman was Bruce Wayne. Through Facebook! She owed ten bucks to her friend David, who had called it for years.

James worked as a professional fighter and taught his tomboy daughter a few moves in case she ever needed to defend herself (or someone else) in a darkening world. He always used to tell her to "Feel the fear and do it anyway." When the Regime feel, it seemed like everything was going to be fine for both the world the Baker family.

And then Brainiac attacked.

Janet would never forget that day. She was out with her family in her hometown of Chicago when they were caught in the middle of the invasion. The Bakers were fleeing from the city as Brainiac drones killed civilians. There was so much panic. So much screaming. With nearby people at risk of becoming more victims of the massacre, James told his wife and daughter to continue without him before rushing off to intervene.

Janet wanted to help too. After everything her father had taught her, there was no way the young woman was going to just run away. And so, against her mother's protests, Janet chased after her father. She never even noticed the streak of emerald light that had raced down from the sky. When Janet found her father, he was standing before a green right hovering before him.

"James Baker of Earth. You have the ability to overcome great fear. Welcome to the Green Lantern Corps.”

That’s what the ring said. And Janet stared on, watching her father reach for the ring that was meant for him. Ready to accept its power and responsibility. Ready to become the newest Green Lantern. Then a terrible pain tore through Janet’s left shoulder, and she looked down in shock to see her left arm on the ground in a growing pool of crimson. A Brainiac drone’s blast had severed it. James whipped around to see her daughter falling to the ground, and she in turn had to watch as a blast from behind tore through his chest. The two collapsed next to each other, and James reached out to take hold of Janet’s remaining hand.

He spoke weakly, “"Janet... don't be afraid. Be strong. I love you." And Janet wasn’t afraid. Her father was the strongest and bravest man she knew. He would be OK, and he would make sure she would be OK, and they would both get out of here alive somehow. Even though his breaths were getting shallow, and his grip weaker, and-

“Ring status report. Green Lantern of Sector 2814 deceased. Scanning for suitable replacement.”
-----
“Look,” Janet snapped out of the painful memory, pointing an accusing finger at the Guardians. “I’d rather have my dad than this Ring. I didn’t ask for it. If you want it back, take it!” Hal Jordan, standing a short distance away, grimaced.

“Well, it appears she has the impertinence of one her age!” a Guardian fumed.

“She has a point,” another Guardian interjected. “If she were as unready as everyone says, no power in the galaxy could have forced that Ring on her finger. Yet, there it is. At one with her.” The Guardians deliberated for a short time before continuing. “So be it. Since Kilowog is unfortunately no longer with us, Janet’s training will fall onto you, Hal.”

“What!?” both Green Lanterns of Sector 2814 said in unison.

“I really don’t think-“ Hal began.

“I don’t need a teacher,” Janet protested. “Especially not him. He was a member of the Regime!”

“Hal Jordan has earned his second chance, and you do require a teacher, despite what you may think you are capable of. Earth is a focal point. How many wars, how many heroes, how many events that spread across the universe have originated on your planet? The full responsibility of Sector 2814 is great. Hal will train you, and that is final. Good luck.”

As the Guardians rose up and flew away, Janet clenched her fist and let out a huff. It looked like she was stuck with the Green-Yellow-Green Lantern. “Why didn’t it come sooner?” Janet asked, seemingly to herself.

“Hm?” only one of the Guardians heard her, turning towards the young woman.

“The Ring. The one meant for my father. Why didn’t it come sooner?” Anger was building in her words. “If it had come just a few days-no, a few minutes sooner, he’d probably still be alive! So why the wait? What, did the Ring take a wrong turn at Venus?”

“You must understand, Janet,” the Guardian glumly said, “our war with Superman and the One Earth Regime left the Corps vulnerable. With so many Green Lanterns captured or killed, we had to rebuild. Superman’s alliance with the Sinestro Corps meant that we could not afford to send a Ring to Sector 2814. Additionally, Mogo was responsible for guiding the Green Lantern Rings to new beings after their hosts die. His loss made it difficult to find new recruits.” Janet did not find the explanation entirely satisfying but said no more.

“I am sorry for your loss. If it is any consolation, I am sure that you will make a fine Green Lantern.” With that, he flew off.

Janet turned to glare at Hal Jordan. “The best,” she declared.

COMPLICATIONS:
Power Loss: The Power Ring needs periodic recharging and issues a warning as its power runs low.
Weakness: Green Lantern Power Rings depend on the willpower of the wearer; the maximum base rank of the Ring’s effects is equal to the wearer’s Will rank, and moments of self-doubt or hesitation can cause the Ring to fail.
Responsibility: To protect her space sector as a Green Lantern of Sector 2814.
Disability: Without the Power Ring, she only has one arm due to the injuries sustained in the Brainiac invasion.
Second Choice: The Power Ring initially came for Janet's father, James Baker, but he died just as it arrived, so the Ring instead went to Janet. She hates to be reminded of this, and works hard to prove she is worthy.
Relationship: Janet loves her mother, Alexis Baker, and she has a strained student-teacher relationship with Green Lantern Hal Jordan. She feels Hal is partly responsible for her father's death, and the two frequently bicker.
Guy Gardner's Successor: More than once, Hal has compared Janet to Guy Gardner, the former owner of her Power Ring. She is headstrong and assertive, but ultimately has a good heart.

PERSONALITY:
On the surface, Janet is fierce, independent, and pugnacious, but beneath her tough exterior, she possesses a strong loyalty toward her friends and duty as a Green Lantern. Her offensive battle style means that she is always quick to initiate or rise to a challenge, and is similarly quick witted and impulsive, especially in heated situations. As a Lantern-in-training, she lacks perception toward the damage her Ring is capable of, and her rash decisions often result in her accidentally insulting others. Janet is tough, impatient, headstrong, sarcastic, and assertive, but also has a good sense of humor and enthusiasm, and a vulnerable teenage charm.

Messaged it to endwaar, but I'll repeat it here that I'm really happy to be part of the game and playing with you all, especially with the tough competition.

Well, if you're generously offering, the Secret Sanctuary/Justice Cave of Happy Harbor isn't a bad choice. ;) Otherwise I'd also be willing to put in a point for our own headquarters. Any chance the the Tower of Fate rents out rooms?

As for team transport, Janet can fly the team around by carrying them in a Force Bubble. Not as fast as teleportation, but still an option.

Always good to have a range of options for different situations :)

The Tower of Fate and Justice Cave are both good options. I think it largely depends on whether the game itself will have a more local or global spin to it. With League/Batman backing, either should be fine. If we're more on our own, location might matter more.

Tobey's been living in the Tower of Fate for the last six years and I'd originally considered paying for him having HQ space there when I was building the character but eventually decided against a solo HQ in favor of a team one.

I'd lean more to a more universally accessible HQ, rather than something that rests outside the conventional bounds of space and time.

Mt Justice is a good tie-in for the Young Justice aspect of the game in my opinion.

Vee doesn't really have a particular home to speak of and I imagine she's been sponsored by Bruce Wayne, if indirectly, as the executor of the agreement Vee has for being a superhero in exchange for the 95Y drug she needs to maintain her power stability. I kind of picture her living in the HQ, lacking family and all, sort of like Miss Martian and Superboy did in the cartoon.
Size: Large(Cave Complex)(2)
Toughness: 10(2)
Features: Communications, Computer, Hangar, Gym, Living Space, Power System, Secret, Security System
Without factoring in the direct teleportation link it had to the Watchtower in the show, this should be pretty close to the Mt Justice from Young Justice, which sits at 12 points. (Noting that while the mountain itself was sizeable, the installation within it that was the headquarters wasn't THAT big.)

It's a pretty simple HQ that we could add a few more things if we need, like a magic workshop for Prestige, or a library or forensics lab for Grace. At 12ep, we've got 8 more to customize it.

For a basic flying transport, we'd need to chip in another 1pp each. Vehicles cost a lot o-o, but that would still give us more EP than we need, so add to that any un-spent from the HQ, and we can add actual features to the team vehicle.
Size: Huge(2)
Speed: 8 (Flight)(16) - 500mph
Strength: 8(0) - 6 tons
Toughness: 9(0)
Defense: 4(6)
Off-hand, I think the HQ is probably more important, and Uncle Bruce and provide us with a transportation later. Prestige and GL can transport Grace and Inquisitor who have no particular movement powers. Besides, not a single one of our characters has Vehicles. (Jack of All Trades maybe, but still... lol)

Tobey would very much be of the opinion that he doesn't need to know how to do that since he can teleport. ...up until the first time the situation demanded it.

*cue hilarious "how do I drive/fly this thing" montage* :D

Thanks for doing the crunch, that looks like a good setup for the team.

I'm kind of half and half between Tobey living at the HQ and having a place of his own to try and get more independent. Of course that also is pretty much out of his control since he's got no family either, closest support being Zatanna, John Constantine and Dr Fate at the Tower and Batman from the League I guess.

We could add a feature to the HQ as well for a teleporation link to the Tower of Fate, and the Watchtower as well if endwaar is okay with that.

And while Vee may previously (or rather, at the start here) be living in a Wayne-funded apartment on her own, she would probably just end up preferring to live in the HQ rather than going in between.

In a way, she feels like a prisoner, being forced to be a superhero just for medication so she doesn't go mad, so in her mind it would be fitting to stay in the HQ like it's a prison.

.....yeah, she's got some issues, but with this crew, she should have no problem working them out over time. :)

That's an interesting point, Tobey might end up with the opposite decision exactly because of independence and finding his footing outside of superheroing.

But that's what I like about the group of characters we have, we're all versatile not just as heroes but as people, which should lead to plenty of interesting rp possibilities.

The first IC post is up.

I'm using past tense third person for the RP, so let me know if you'd rather change it up to present tense. If you have any issues with what your characters' setup are, let me know, and I'll edit it.

Also, do you all have favored dice rollers?

I usually use Coyote code roller, has worked fine though whatever works is okay.
