It interesting that according to some historian there were two precise reasons behind his apparent madness. First Nobunaga was already 26 years old at the time of the Battle of Okehazama, which put the Oda clan on the map by defeating the Imagawas, by the standards of the time he was already pretty old. Tokugawa Ieyasu, who participated in the same battle and had been an hostage of the Oda for a time, was 10 years younger. Second, according to some sources Nobunaga suffered from an aching teeth that had been badly threated during his youth and caused him terrible fits of pain. Apparently it ached so bad that sometimes he losed all control, contributing to his nototious temper.
"You're right. Sorry. Holy shit," I breathed, "heckhounds.”

-Asura has the best design out of all the Samurai Shodown 64 characters, so it makes sense he's one of the only ones to live on past the game, appearing in Neo-Geo Battle Coliseum alongside his lady-love, Shiki. A true "Goth Hero", it's revealed that he's merely a clone of the "true" Asura, Shadow Asura- Asura only retains the original's hatred of Yuga, and nothing more. The two Asuras fuse together, thus allowing both to live on. He's so Goth that his weapons are named AFTER FALLEN ANGELS, YO! A later version appears in Samurai Shodown: Warrior's Rage (yes, that's confusing- all it lacks is the "64" notation) named Yuda- the fusion of Asuras has left him amnesiac, and now he's even MORE pale, and works for Oboro!

-Asura is a PL 8 fighter with a lot of varied attacks, owing to a morphing weapon- one of the few to take on actual DEVICE properties in this series!

Asura is really cool (though really screams of "I'M EDGY!"), especially considering he came from the 3D games, and he's even a demon, himself.
Also, of all the "Sprite Clones", Sankuro (not to be confused with Zankuro) really sticks out to me, because of his sprite looking so much like a Genjuro edit in some ways, but different in other ways. And he's really annoying to fight.

-A very, very strange case in the Shodown series, Shiki is actually from the NEO*GEO 64 SERIES, yet has managed to recur in several other games. However, she's missed all of the "legit" Shodown games (until the 2019 revamp), and has instead featured in outliers like the Gals Fighter game with its female cast, and two other "Anthology"-type "collect various characters" games that brought new life to older, largely-unused designs (Battle Coliseum also features stars from weird games like Aggressors of Dark Kombat and World Heroes). She was thus an unexpected character to appear in the 2019 Shodown, which featured mostly the Original Cast, alongside another outlier like Tokugawa. This makes her the only Neo*Geo character to continue forward.

-Shiki is a minion of the evil Yuga, having been imprisoned and had her heart stolen. One half of what is needed to restore the "Dark God of Makai" (the Demon World), she is sent after Haohmaru- the other half. She falls in love with the hero Asura, bearing him a child, which she leaves with Nicotine (Haohmaru's trainer). The character's emotionless status and her distinctive hairstyle are emblematic of the wildly-popular Neon Genesis Evangelion character, Rei Ayanami.

-The 2-D Fighters give her Paired Short Swords as weapons, and she fights using a typical "Small, Fast Female" fighting style. She's a "Poker"-type character that specializes in doing a great amount of accumulated damage.

-Samurai Shodown 64 and its sequel, SS 64: Warrior's Rage, are both exclusive to Japan, and are so difficult to come by that even the Fighters Generation guy has never played them. Their character designs generally leave much to be desired, and they've made little impact elsewhere. Another game, simply called Warriors Rage, is set a fair bit into the future of the series, leading to a much older cast. It centres around the Bafuku government, their loyalists , and a popular band of outlaws.

-A wild child raised by the streets.
MINTO- PL 7 (90): ST 1, STA 1, FGT 9, AGI 5, Hammer +4, Dodge 12, Parry +3, Flight 2 (Gliding) [45]
-A little girl, and adoptive sister of Ran Po. Slower than Ran Po, owing to the huge size of her weapon.
DARUMA- PL 7 (93): ST 2, STA 3, FGT 9, AGI 3, Sword +3, Dodge 9, Parry +2, Speed 2 (Requires Sake), Multiattack 5 (Requires Sake) [48]

-An insane murderer and drug addict.
TASHON MAO- PL 7 (90): ST 4, STA 5, FGT 9, Wooden Hand +1, Dodge 7, Parry +1 [45]

-A murderer who's obsessed with beauty and butterflies, slaughtering anything he doesn't see as beautiful.

SAMURAI SHODOWN SEN:
* This game introduces a positively HELLACIOUS number of generic, poorly-thought-out designs. Most of these guys are just "Viking", "Knight", "Indian Stereotype", etc. Incredibly boring. Three of the characters hail from some "foreign land" that is unnamed- Suzuhime, Claude & Golba, who is the Final Boss.

SUZUHIME- PL 7 (94): ST 1, STA 2, FGT 10, AGI 5, PRE 3, Sword +3, Dodge 9, Parry +3, Politics +4 [49]
-The main character-ish sort of the game, Suzuhime is the Princess of a foreign country, washing ashore in Japan ten years ago. She was adopted by a daimyo, but runs away from home to pursue Golba, the game's boss. She ultimately chooses to stay with Takechiyo, hoping he finds purpose in his life. Resembling a blonde girl in Japanese clothing, she actually has a solid look, but isn't overly special.
JINBEI SUGAMATA- PL 7 (94): ST 2, STA 3, FGT 10, AGI 4, Spear +2, Dodge 9, Parry +1, Politics +8 [49]
-Jinbei searches for his adoptive daughter Suzuhime, after she abandoned him. A generic "Old Man" design.
TAKECHIYO- PL 7 (91): ST 2, STA 3, FGT 9, AGI 4, Sword +3, Dodge 9, Parry +2, Sailor +4 [46]
-A kid who admires Haohmaru after the warrior rescued and trained him. He now seeks out Suzuhime. He kind of acts like a "Peasant-Samurai", with wild, sloppy strikes. The Fighters Generation guy actually likes him, unlike most of the designs of this game.
ANGELICA- PL 7 (93): ST 2, STA 3, FGT 10, AGI 4, Giant Hook Spear +2, Dodge 10, Parry +2, Assassin +8 [48]
-The sexy outfit and exotic looks remind me a lot of Elena from Street Fighter, but Angelica is an assassin hired by Golba to hunt down Suzuhime. She was actually attacked by Golba years ago, and a split personality developed- her own and that of her sister (who died in the attack).
CLAUDE- PL 7 (91): ST 2, STA 3, FGT 9, AGI 4, Sword +3, Dodge 9, Parry +2, Samurai +4 [46]
-A European who washed up in Japan ten years ago (ANOTHER one?), he adopts the culture of this new land.
KIRIAN- PL 7 (91): ST 2, STA 3, FGT 9, AGI 4, PRE 3, Sword +3, Dodge 9, Parry +2 [46]
-A toreador rival of Charlotte's, he is intrigued by her after their meeting. A charismatic slacker and narcissist, he fights more or less like Vega.
WALTER- PL 7 (87): ST 3, STA 3, FGT 8, AGI 2, Sword +3, Dodge 7, Armor +2, Parry +1, Knight +6 [42]
-Walter is a knight sporting a REALLY big sword, and looks a bit anachronistic in the era of firearms. He's a member of the same knightly order as Sieger.
BLACK HAWK- PL 7 (92): ST 2, STA 3, FGT 10, AGI 3, Axe +2- Split, Dodge 9, Parry +1, Indian Stereotype +6 [47]
-Samurai Shodown's only Native America, he's as stereotypical as humanly possible, right down to his "twin axe" fighting style. His father was killed during the "Independence War", and seeks revenge- his shaman told him to travel east to fulfill his destiny.
DRACO- PL 7 (93): ST 2, STA 3, FGT 9, AGI 4, Gun (Blast 4), Dodge 9, Parry +2, Hitman +6 [48]
-A... Wild West outlaw? Really? He's a hired hitman who in the past had killed Galford's father. He's been hired by Golba to take out any potential rivals.
KIM HAE-RYEONG- PL 7 (90): ST 2, STA 3, FGT 10, AGI 4, Staff +2, Dodge 9, Parry +1 [45]
-A Korean hero who hunts Angelica, fearing she is a monstrous killer. Discovering that she's not so, he gives up the chase.
GARROS- PL 7 (88): ST 4, STA 4, FGT 7, AGI 2, Axe +3, Dodge 7, Parry +3 [43]
-The most generic Viking design ever, Garros isn't really chronological to the rest of the cast. He's a treasure-seeking, honorable traveller.
J.- PL 7 (91): ST 2, STA 3, FGT 9, AGI 4, Sword +3, Dodge 9, Parry +2, Sailor +4 [46]
-A sailor who washed up ten years ago, he fights to earn money to buy the freedom of his geisha love. In his ending, he tells her to not love a man like him. Basically taken from Afro Samurai.
GOLBA- PL 8 (111): ST 3, STA 4, FGT 10, AGI 4, INT 3, AWA 3, PRE 4, Sword +3, Dodge 10, Parry +2, Military +10 [66]
-The Final Boss, he was one of the sons of the foreign kingdom where Suzuhime originated, too. He failed in a coup, and was exiled to America, where he learned that a powerful nation can become a threat to Europe- he thus seeks to conquer it. He kind of gives off a "Modernized Soldier" vibe, dressing in a spiffy dress uniform and sporting a sabre.

-Yuga is the genderless antagonist of the Samurai Shodown 64 games. Left unplayable, Yuga is deliberately mysterious, and is a sorcerer from the Demon World of Makai, wishing to become a God of Destruction by merging the two realms. Yuga imbues many fetuses with power, finally enacting the plan to brainwash them into powerful agents, thus creating Shiki. However, Yuga is destroyed by Haohmaru & Nakoruru, resurrecting itself a year later. Yuga creates a clone of Asura, who loves Shiki, but both Asuras end up allying against Yuga, destroying it. In the Warrior's Rage game, Yuga possesses Shiki and Asura's child, Mikoto, living on as the "Devil" side of her personality. Eventually, Yuda, the merger of the two Asuras, destroys Yuga's spirit.

-Yuga is a complicated, multi-powered PL 10 Final Boss, owing to existing in a game with some lower Power Levels.

She totally looks like she was designed with a VERY revealing top, to which someone objected, so they coloured her boobs and stomach blue.

All will decrease by 2 every successive round the same move is done.

Total: Abilities: 54 / Skills: 22--11 / Advantages: 10 + 12 / Powers: 4 / Defenses: 9 (100)

-Another shameless "Sprite Swap", Sankuro cloned Genjuro's lower body, but swaps out the head and weapon, replacing a bitchin' sword with a gigantic mallet. He's meant to be a devilish, "no-good person", while stealing some bits from Fist of the North Star characters. He hires Genjuro to kill the Boss, Gaoh, but Genjuro refuses the next assignment, and attacks his boss, who's saved by his minions. He's actually made out to be a big dope with a huge smile and a dumb laugh- his "Crime Boss" thing is mostly him leading a squad of doofy-looking minions, more like an '80s Cartoon Villain than a bad-ass.

-Sankuro is a pretty poor fighter in-story, so he's only PL 8. He uses some simple attacks, but many of his specials are done by getting his Minions to fight for him- three different people jump out as his "Specials", which is difficult to stat, except by assuming that he's cheating. He's also notable for using a GUN as one of his specials in Samurai Shodown VI.

Are those the Liberteens from the Initiative comics on the cover of Fantastic Four #4? Also by Dan Slott! Out of Limbo, I think.
Cool builds!

OMG the new Wreck-It Ralph trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vosclVeCQEA

The Merida scene is amazing. LOVE Belle & Aurora's reactions. Though "CGI" Belle, Elsa & Cinderella don't look right with WIR's simplified, huge-eyed animation style. Tiana looks... shiny?

The new female character looks gorgeous. A bad-ass leather-wearing racer chick? Hell yeah.

Took me forever to find an actual image of that cover- that is almost DEFINITELY them. 2-D, Iceberg & Hope are dead-on. The blonde girl COULD be the forgotten Miss America, too. Very weird, but very typical of Marvel writers- transplanting villains from one book to another when the writer changes projects. Though why Slott felt that THE LIBERTEENS deserved a second run is beyond me, it's a fun use of forgotten background nobodies.

I'd laugh if he just copied them for a new set of characters, though.

-A particularly thoughtless, cheap character, I don't even know why Kim Ung-Che exists. He's just a Sprite Clone of Gaira Caffeine, changing nothing but the color tone, while Gaira becomes a bald Buddhist monk in the final game of the series- Samurai Shodown VI. Kim is a wandering priest and former pupil of Nicotine before leaving for India. His moves are even similar to Gaira's, so I made him a simple PL 8 version of that chracter.

And that's the final Samurai Shodown build! Again, the game is tough to stat up, given the sheer number of characters. I ran out of ones most of you would probably recognize two or three days ago, which makes it not quite as notable once you get into the rest of the roster- I staggered them out as much as I was comfortable with, since I wanted the first couple of days to go over well, with guys like Hanzo & Galford :).

Next up- a weird little mid-thing. I was gonna go straight into the Disney Builds, but I wanted to get this guy over with pretty shortly... and the Disney set is going to be TITANIC in scope. I'm practically angsting over how well that one might do- I've been looking forward to it for over a year, but was never sure how well it'd go over :).

But for now... it's three days of builds about MOON KNIGHT!!!

The Disney set should be fun, but man, it reminds me of just how convoluted (but neat) Kingdom Hearts is. (Though I’ve still yet to see someone build Sora in 3rd Edition..) Also, as far as I’m aware, Kim Ung Che was just Gaira’s Korean name, but made a separate character in VI for some reason (I guess because Gaira is bald in that game?)

Looking forward to both. I like Moon Knight, he just never seems to get utilized right, though I heard the Warren Ellis run was pretty good.
