-Stuff is one of the quirky Morrison Guardsmen, created as an Advance Scout meant to spy on the X-Men. He disguised himself as a Japanese kid at Xavier's School For Gifted Youngsters, but got caught by the Stepford Cuckoos (though "Solid-oids", one of them- Esme- was dating him for a while), who brainwashed him into being the "perfect boyfriend" since he could shapechange. He was kind of dumb and loser-y, and got his butt kicked a lot, but he ended up being used as the means to Cassandra Nova's defeat- she was trapped in his comatose body. He's not much of a fighter otherwise, but he's good as a spy & saboteur.

-A fairly powerful energy manipulator, the Imperial Guard's Sun Boy ripoff is actually pretty decent, in addition to looking fairly cool. Instead of just a common pyromancer, he's a full-on Energy Being, able to shoot flames, surround himself in them, fly at Sonic Speeds, and he's Immune to a huge variety of things. Such is the raw expenditure of his Powers, that he's well over the normal cost of a PL 10 despite being a pretty one-note hero without very many Advantages at all. He was a pretty-recurring member of his crew, but was killed off in War of Kings by a Nightcrawler from the Cancerverse. Despite that, he had a fair bit of characterization to him, as he apparently underwent scientific changes that turned him into a long-lived energy being, outlived his family, and hoped to be merged with some kind of racial Pyre when he finally returned home.

-Titan's a one-note rip-off of Colossal Boy, and like most giant guys, he has multiple purposes: 1) Taking up lots of space so the artists use him a bunch. 2) Being recognizable with visual cues (in this case, size), so he's a recurring member of the Guard no matter what. 3) He's big and impressive-looking, but kind of a weenie, so he's often used to make someone look better by kicking his ass (this is known in comic books as "The Pym Effect". At least, that's what I'm trying to make everyone memorize). He shows up constantly, and usually gets beaten pretty easily (Supremor beat him almost casually once). Like most Size Changers, he has the common problem of being REALLY strong, but also REALLY vulnerable, meaning he can do a great amount of damage in melee (equivalent to the Thing/Colossus weight class), but folds like a card table the second something overly tough hits him (+13 Max. Toughness is REALLY good and huge and all, but he's got +5 to Defense at that size, meaning that while he's as durable as The Thing, he's going to be hit by EVERYTHING coming his way, which means someone can Power Attack him with impunity without worrying about dropping too much accuracy.

-Voyager is the ever-problematic Teleporter archetype, though it's made easier because he's got a SUPER-expensive Teleportation ability, but that's pretty much his ONLY useful thing. He can suck people into Vortexes (though that's the Tiring +10 Attack), but otherwise is just the mass transporter of his team, bolting them across galaxies. If he gets hit, he's going down. As a character, he's among the VERY few Guardsmen created after their debut to have a lasting impression, because of his one useful power. He 'ports the team in and then out. His costume is ludicrously terrible though, clearly the artist just wasn't up to the classic job the early Guard artists were of just creaing wild stuff. This guy & Solar Wind are flat-out embarrassing.

Complications:
Disabled (Insane)- Vulcan is prone to foolish and flat-out evil decisions. Nobody close to him trusts him for even a second.
Motivation (Power & Mayhem)- Vulcan is Caligula-esque in his desire to commit heinous acts for evil's own sake. He also likes being Majestor of the Shi'ar.
Enemy (Havok)- Vulcan has a personal vendetta against his brother Alex Summers. Curiously, he doesn't encounter Scott a whole bunch (Brubaker wasn't in charge of Cyclops, I guess).

Total: Abilities: 48 / Skills: 32--16 / Advantages: 20 / Powers: 138 / Defenses: 19 (241)

-Vulcan is the culmination of a handful of off-hand remarks made in the 1990s of a "Third Summers Brother"- a Shi'ar-bred child of Christopher & Katharine Summers (the parents of Cyclops & Havok), bred to adult age (because it's comics and that happens a lot). Early comments implied that Adam-X- The X-Treme was that Summers Brother (he was Shi'ar-looking, and had some link to a "Milbury", which was Summers-Enthusiast Mr. Sinister's alter-ego's name), but since it was the 1990s anymore, they dropped that one pretty quickly. He was introduced to the X-Universe in an idea I REALLY hated- that Professor X had sent ANOTHER group of mutants after Krakoa when the original X-Men were captured, but they were killed and thus Charles sent in ANOTHER group (the fabled Giant-Size X-Men). THEN Chuck mind-wiped everyone involved so they didn't remember his "Lost" X-group. This story had the effect of making Professor X into an even BIGGER dick than fans thought he was, and straight-up made him a hateable character.

-Vulcan, then an amnesiac, eventually recovered and regained his memories. He responded to Chuck's dickishness by unleashing hell, killing Banshee, and making all the X-Men his enemies. He was beaten, but flew to the Shi'ar Empire, killed Emperor D'Ken (after first healing him to reveal himself and gain his trust, and some power within the Empire), became Majestor of the Empire, killed a ton of the Imperial Guard, then led the Empire through a horrible Civil War with Lilandra's defenders (she was soon killed), THEN The War of Kings against the Kree Empire and it's rulers, The Inhumans. At the end of the story, he & Black Bolt were "killed", though Blackagar returned shortly thereafter in The Fantastic Four.

-Vulcan was a character I had a hard time liking. First off, his origin is confusing and ludicrously-complex EVEN FOR A SUMMERS FAMILY MEMBER. This alone is nearly impossible. He also acts as a "Caligula" archetype, that is, a ruler with unlimited power, and a pathological sociopathy that really comes across as forced. Now, I can understand the popularity of the trope- the real emperor Caligula was said to be JUST as bad in real life (The show "I, Claudius" portrayed him in a truly horrific manner, like the time he impregnated his own sister, and then butchered her alive and ate his own unborn child), and great stories can be told about this character type (like the aforementioned BBC show, which even has PATRICK STEWART WITH HAIR in it!). But the problem is, Vulcan just runs around saying horrible things, acting like a putz, and being evil for the sake of evil. He's not so much disturbed as a giant prick. It just makes him annoying and faux-funny when he's supposed to be disgusting and scary. So boo to Vulcan.

-Vulcan his hideously powerful, being stronger than any Earth-based hero, and being a match for near-Cosmic Beings. PL 14 Area Attacks, and PL 14 in most other ways, he hits like a Cosmic Hero (+18 Damage), has TONS of varied powers (Healing, Force Fields, Power Drains strong enough to drop Adam Warlock in seconds, and any type of Energy creation), and he's even pretty much immune to Mental Attacks. The dude is CRAZY tough.

-Zenith was a one-shot character introduced for a "Spotlight" mini-series- he was the brother of Starjammer member Raza Longknife, used a power-suit, and had the ability to Drain & Redirect Energy. He was killed in battle with Carol Danvers in her "Binary" identity, having been blown up upon realizing that he couldn't drain all her power, for it was limitless.

-Webwing looks kinda like a Darkmantle from Dungeons & Dragons. He's one of the most inventive Guardsmen, being a creepy squid-looking guy (gender neutral, but I'll use "he") who jumps up behind guys and Snares them with his tentacles out in a big "net" form, at which point he begins drugging them with natural narcotics released through his skin. He nearly caught both Shadowcat & Jean Grey at different points, but both used their unique traits (Phasing & Telepathy) to deal with the threat soon enough. Webwing's very limited to his one attack, but is handy enough to be good in a team situation, giving one character trouble while his teammates take care of the other players.

-Warstar is probably the singly most original member of the entire Imperial Guard- not a direct rip like Hobgoblin & Impulse (who are basically pallete swaps), or even an obvious homage like Astra & Nightside (who have some side power differences)- these guys are a combined entity that splits off at-will, with varied powers, and they're robots. Quite a bit different than Duo Damsel/Triplicate Girl of the Legion, am I right? I didn't even realize there was a link until it was pointed out to me. This originality and their overall uniqueness has let them live on to show up in multiple comics over the years, being one of the most-used Guardsmen. Their individual names come from "Beanie & Cecil", a puppet show popular way before I was born (some of the old men on this forum probably remember it :)). There are actually a handful of Warstars in service to the guard, but the others might be a bit weaker.

-Warstar's a bit tricky to figure out at first until you realize they're just two separate guys with their own powers (they're not really one being- B'Nee just drives). Most of the time, they're together, because C'Cil is the Powerhouse. He can slug it out with She-Hulk or Colossus (and has), but requires B'nee in the driver's seat to guide his movements. Without the little robot, the big robot has a much harder time hitting, which is best shown with Favored Environment. He's a solid PL 9.5 Brick, but he's REALLY stupid- basically a big dumb animal that won't even work if B'Nee is out of commission, as even Captain America has defeated the powerhouse just by KOing B'Nee.

-B'Nee is quite different, much more vulnerable to damage, but with a nasty Stun attack that has KO'd beings as powerful as She-Hulk in the past. He's much smarter, and gets all the robot benefits C'Cil does. He's almost more worthy overall, but for his bad PL 7 defensive ability.

The Imperial Guard...yeah, they're one of those concepts Marvel never really does a LOT with, but finds really useful for all sorts of "space adventure/alien invasion/cosmic" storylines, for obvious reasons. They're all pretty much cannon fodder, since writers and editors can always find excuses for replacing them with lookalikes or similarly powered replacements. Of course, only a handful REALLY matter, and on one really cares about the ones created after the Claremont/Cockrum/Byrne empire.

The minor Guard members get treated inconsistently by different authors, since keeping track of who is alive/dead/loyal/good/evil is too much trouble for such inconsequential characters (except for Gladiator, Oracle, and a couple others); hence we get two different versions of Xenith (Gladiator's sister), Flashfire/Tempest sometimes is immune to electricity, sometimes not, Smasher is either a mid-level powerhouse or a jobber, etc, etc.
Heck, Gladiator started out getting dropped by the Starjammers, barely beat Colossus, and got stunned by Cyclops' optic blast-then suddenly he's one-shotting the Thing and duking it out with Thor. Still not certain he merits PL 15, though Jab-he outclasses Wonder Man, but almost ALWAYS loses to top-tier supers like Thor, the Hulk, Cassandra Nova, Phoenix, Captain Universe, and even Liefeld's Supreme.

Hey, did you know in modern continuity Fang is actually a self-resurrecting immortal with access to tech that gives him demigod level power? And he and Wolverine have retroactively been "friends" ever since their first encounter. Because comics are weird.

All my best.

-I actually had no idea that this character was such an old creation- I figured she was a retcon added to War of Kings. In actuality, Xenith was a Gru-created (of course) Supergirl analogue to go along with Gladiator, and she teamed with some space guys and fought Beta-Ray Bill and such, even lifting his hammer Stormbreaker... and then Abnett & Lanning re-wrote her as an insane murderess who was in jail. Yeah, basically she's two completely different characters in different eras. Last time I posted her, Earth-Two Kenn noted "My theory: She was a retcon added to War of Kings. It was only later that someone, probably a fan, pointed out that a superficially similar character had appeared earlier. At which point, it was decided that 'oh, it's not a retcon, it's the same character' despite the different name, appearance, and personality."

-Xenith/Strontian's exact power level seems to be PL 14-ish- she's fought Beta-Ray Bill, she's a challenge for Gladiator, and she once beat the living CRAP out of Ravenous, a Silver Surfer-class being, by jumping him while he was on a throne (the non-toilet kind).

All my best.
Gladiator is particularly hard to place, Power-wise. He does power Feats that are ridiculous (flying through planets), whips Wonder Jobber easily, and is treated as so far above the FF that it's not even close. But then he ends up being that guy who fights Thor to a standstill before Thor barely ekes out a win. I chalk it up to his "Confidence" Complication, really.

He's also been treated with more respect in past years. He's also better than Strontian, who was treated as Herald-class herself in the Abnett/Lanning stuff.

Captain Universe is WAY above most of those guys, though.

Defenses:
Dodge +9 (DC 19), Parry +10 (DC 20), Toughness +8, Fortitude +8, Will +3

Complications:
Power Loss/Weakness (Webbing)- If the Symbiotes use too much "Webbing", they will lose strength, or the ability to produce more, having used up too many of the symbiote's cells.
Power Loss (Fire & Sonics)- The Symbiote Race fears both fire and extremely loud noises. Being in proximity to either weakens them to the point of losing all his abilities, moreso with more powerful applications.
Weakness (Fire & Sonics)- Similarly, the Symbiotes take extra damage from fire and sonics. This depends on the writer (or the GM).

Total: Abilities: 66 / Skills: 26--13 / Advantages: 7 / Powers: 70 / Defenses: 6 (162)

-ZZZXX here is basically a lost Symbiote who was being kept in a jar by the Shi'ar, and released by Vulcan to serve his interests. He's apparently one of the most dangerous creatures in Shi'ar history, and one of the first Symbiotes shown to actually take over a host instead of just be used kinda like a permanent Device. This'n captured Raza Longknife of The Starjammers and used him against his will. However, he tended to just fight without a host most of the time, and is one of the only Symbiotes I've ever seen do that (most of them just move around like little blobs that need a host to do stuff). He was eventually fought off, then thrown onto one of the Many-Angled Ones in the fight against The Cancerverse. We've yet to see what happens when a Symbiote touches a Many-Angled One, unfortunately.

-ZZZXX has powers similar to Carnage and the Five Symbiotes, minus some of the things they gained from Spider-Man over the years (like Spider-Sense). He's dangerous as all hell, but limited compared to Venom & Carnage, lacking their fighting capabilities. This guy's limited to Snares & Slashing, but adds Mind Control (with some heavy Limitations- he basically controls only one person, who constantly fights against him).

I try not to do this because I never like it when someone says "so-and-so's PL is too high or too low" when I build someone. But dude, Burt Reynolds is like a PL20. 8-)

I haven't watched much of the past two seasons, but up to that point, the Burt Reynolds episode was my favorite hands down.
