CONTACTS: Martinex is a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy. In the 20th century he could depend on the Avengers.

HISTORY
In the 31st Century, Earth had colonized several planets in its solar system, including Pluto. Martinex was born on Pluto, although it was later revealed his ancestors were from the continent of Africa on Earth.

He grew up to become a scientist. Like the other Pluvians, Martinex's body was completely covered by facets that were crystalline in appearance, so that the Pluvians could withstand the extreme temperatures of their world. When the Badoon attempted to exterminate all the Pluvians, Martinex escaped the Badoon and teamed with Vance Astro, a human astronaut from the 20th century, Charlie-27, a Jovian, and Yondu, from Alpha Centauri, to fight the Badoon as the Guardians of the Galaxy.

The Guardians were once assisted by the Thing, Captain America, and Agent 13. They were able to reclaim a major beachhead on Earth during the war again Badoon occupation. After traveling back to the Age of Heroes again, the Guardians succeeded in driving the Badoon off of Earth entirely.

Eventually, the Guardians drove the Badoon from Earth, with Martinex executing their leader (Koord), but they were unable to fit in with post-war life on Earth and departed on a mission to explore the galaxy. In their travels, the Guardians met new members such as Nikki (Last survivor of Mercury) and new threats like the Topographical Man.

One of the Guardians' greatest foes was Michael Korvac. When he gained great power and traveled back in time, Martinex and the Guardians followed him back to the Age of Heroes. They made contact with the Avengers of Earth, and were granted honorary membership in the team during their stay in the present.

As the most level-headed and generally respected member of the team, Martinex tended to serve as the Guardians' reluctant leader.

While looking for the shield of Captain America, the Guardians came into conflict with a team of super-humans known as Force. Martinex was badly injured by a member of Force known as Brahl. Much of the crystals that covered Martinex's body were shattered, but he recovered with the help of fellow Guardian Starhawk and his "living light". All of the exterior crystals on Martinex fell away, leaving him with a new, less faceted, somewhat purple appearance.

Eventually, Martinex left the team to begin forming franchise versions of the Guardians, called the Galactic Guardians. The Galactic Guardians were initially made up of Hollywood, Firelord, the Mainframe, Replica, Phoenix IX, and Ghost Rider.

Martinex later returned to the Guardians of the Galaxy.

The future of the 31st century has been in a state of considerable flux for some time. Several versions of Martinex have appeared in recent years, vying for relevance to the events of Earth-616. Martinex and a team of Guardians (who remembered being one-time Avengers) recently transported back to the 21st century again, but their timeline and memories were heavily altered from what they have experienced in the past.

HISTORY
Robert Grayson was the son of scientist Matthew Grabshied, whose wife and daughter were killed by the Nazis when their passenger plane was shot down in 1934. Horrified by the atrocities of war, the elder Grayson -- an atomic energy expert -- constructed a rocket ship to escape the Earth. However, once they had flown past the moon, a strange force redirected their ship to the planet Uranus. There Grayson was surprised to find a civilization of people living on the planet. He and his son Robert were accepted with open arms and Robert was raised as a Uranian, learning their science and mastering the art of telepathy.

In 1950, when Robert was now an adult, Matthew decided to send his son back to Earth to act as a champion of his home planet of origin. With a new costume and special light beam bracelets, Robert was dubbed Marvel Boy and sent to Earth in a rocket ship. Because being on Earth greatly weakened him, Robert was required to take special Uranium pills to boost his strength.

In reality, Robert Grayson was born in the 1930s, the son of scientist Professor Matthew Horace Grayson and wife, Marna, in Germany. Horace was a rocket scientist who worked for the government. However, when Hitler rose to power, Grayson did not support the ruling Nazis but was forced to continue his work. His wife lived in constant fear due to her Jewish ancestry and when this was learned by the Nazis, she was killed. Robert was spared, and his father Horace continued to work on a means of escaping the Nazis. He constructed a radio that beamed messages out into space.

Professor Grayson made contact with the Uranian Eternals, who provided him with the knowledge to build a rocket to escape Nazi Germany with his infant son Robert. The Eternals on Uranus then welcomed the Grayson family with open arms, raising Robert as one of their own. The Uranian Eternals were secretly plotting to re-establish ties with the planet Earth in an attempt to be reunited with their planet of origin and influence the society there into what they viewed as a utopia. Monitoring the progress of the War on Earth, the Uranian Eternals waited for the ideal opportunity to begin their agenda, and upon witnessing the activities of Earth's super-soldier Captain America decided to groom Robert into the image of a super-hero the people of Earth could relate to; in other words, their ambassador to Earth.

In 1950, the Uranian Eternals dispatched Robert to Earth to establish himself as a super-hero. This was fraught with complications due to the rise of the Cold War, such as paranoia over his potential as a Communist spy. In one of his earliest adventures, Robert used his rocket ship to help protect a United States naval base located in Zambales in the Philippines. The base was under attack by a high tech villain calling himself the Man O' War who attacked the base in a massive air-ship armed with lightning devices. Easily defeating Man O' War, Robert found himself apprehended by the military under suspicions that he was a communist agent while they tried to examine his rocket. Robert eventually broke free from his cell and escaped, deciding to try establishing himself in society again, this time in New York City. His first attempt at heroics there was saving men working on a billboard whose scaffold threatened to fall. However, Robert was dismayed when the news of his heroics were buried in the back of the newspaper and that they got his name wrong.

However, Robert was soon approached by Dean, a writer for Timely Comics who offered to help Robert gain the publicity he was looking for by creating a comic book adaptation of his adventures. However, Dean informed him that there would need to be changes to the stories to sell them to the public, and also recommended a new name: Marvel Boy.

Marvel Boy also came to the defense of his adopted people, such as when Uranus was invaded by the Satanians who attempted to sow dissent among the masses, corruption among the Uranian police force, and a plot from Uranian dissidents to steal a new atomic formula. However, these stories were adapted by Timely Comics into comic books about Marvel Boy's exploits and may be false.

By 1955, the Uranian Eternals began to feel that they were losing their grip on Marvel Boy and he was straying away from his mission. In order to get him back on track they secretly murdered his father, while making it appear he died of a Uranian disease in order to get Marvel Boy back to Uranus. When they found that the boy was intent on returning to Earth and continuing his mission, they gifted him with hover technology to allow him to fly in the hopes of giving the human race a "real" super-hero to eventually trust.

One of Marvel Boy's earliest recorded missions found him investigating an island that rose out of the Pacific Ocean after an earthquake. He soon found that he island had been found first by international pirate Count Varron who sought to claim the island for himself. Marvel Boy also discovered a population of "Fish People" who lived below the surface of the island, an offshoot of humanity that lived under the ocean for the past 1200 years. Seeking to defend the Fish People from Varron and his pirate, Marvel Boy won the fight when Varron's men detonated TNT to try and kill the Fish People, but only succeeding in causing the island to sink, drowning Varron and his men.

While on Earth, Robert initially took on a job working for the Daily Monitor newspaper. His first assignment was to interview a scientist named Professor Vance. However, at that very moment Vance was in a lab accident that granted him x-ray vision. Seeking to profit from this, Vance rushed Grayson out of his office. Grayson next covered the appearance of a new show business sensation, the Great Video -- secretly Vance -- who used his x-ray vision to trick people into thinking he was a mentalist. As Marvel Boy, he attempted to stop the Great Video from robbing a man with a lot of stolen jewels. However he was knocked out by the x-ray vision. Realizing that his powers could wound or kill, the Great Video became a master criminal until Marvel Boy caught up with him. Blasting Video in the eyes with his light bands stripped the Great Video of his powers and he was brought to justice.

In 1951, in his capacity of an insurance investigator Marvel Boy investigated the cult leader Mr. Death who used his warped interpretation of the Muslim religion to murder people and claim their insurance policies while using trickery to force a confession out of him. Returning to Uranus, he helped defend it from invasion from the Satanians who believed their home planet was going to hurtle into the sun. Marvel Boy then used Uranian science to prove to the king of Satania that their belief was false, thus ending their invasion. Returning to the Earth, Marvel Boy attempted to stop mobster Dynamite Carr from blow-ing up FBI headquarters for his communist employers. Due to the inaction of all levels of authority, Marvel Boy failed to stop the bomb from going off, but succeeded in evacuating it before it exploded. He next traveled to Europe to assist Starr Ryder in rescuing her father who was captured by the vampire Madame la Morte, while slaying her and her undead army in the process. Back on Uranus, Marvel Boy stopped the corrupt Water Commissioner who was attempting to control the flow of water on the Eternal colony in order to rule it. Back on Earth and once more in his capacity of an insurance agent, Grayson helped expose a plot by Gideon Frost and his doctor to murder his niece and inherit the property of his late wife.

In one of his more rash adventures, Marvel Boy tracked the intergalactic criminal Orion Rex who had stolen an anti-radiation ray that he developed on Earth under the guise of Dr. Noiro in a plot to invade the Earth. Tracking the criminal to the Grand Canyon, Marvel Boy dropped an atomic bomb in the canyon seriously injuring Orion and leading to his easy defeat. Marvel Boy then used the anti-radiation device to restore the Grand Canyon to normal. Later he investigated the strange murders of zoo employees that were being carried out by the mysterious snake worshiping Serpent, slaying her in the process. He then prevented a conspiracy between Uranian and Earth criminals to steal atomic secrets by holding the Uranian girl Lilli and Robert's father hostage both on Earth and Uranus. Despite this danger, Marvel Boy prevented the secrets from falling in enemy hands and rescued both his father and Lilli. Marvel Boy was next sent back to Earth by his father to investigate the strange powers of magician Pasha Emit Erut-Uf. Marvel Boy witnessed as Pasha slew some criminals who sought to exploit his magical powers and then vanished claiming he would return in a few hundred years. Marvel Boy theorized that Pasha and his assistant were really the Biblical Adam and Eve. Marvel Boy next came to the assistance of millionaire Jasper J. Corpa who was given a pen that forced him to write checks to the Stalinist regime until Marvel Boy put a stop to it by slaying the agents extorting Corpa and destroying the pen. He also captured Professor Diminuito of the planet Argo who was killing people on Earth to test out his contracting fabric experiments.

By 1957, Marvel Boy became the subject of interest of a subversive FBI agent who was ultimately stopped by agent Jimmy Woo who then recruited Marvel Boy into Department Zero much to the protests of his Uranian masters, but by then Marvel Boy had determined that the human race needed to find its own way and not be tampered with by the Uranian Eternals. Unbowed, the Eternals planned for the eventual return of Marvel Boy and began grooming the Eternal Thelius to be their Marvel Boy replacement. Soon the native Uranians learned of this plan and found it in violation of their pact with the Eternals, which caused them to wipe them all out. The dying Eternals sent a distress call to Marvel Boy who came in answer to it, learning the truth of his adopted people along the way. He arrived too late to save them and was absorbed into the Uranian hive mind, with his biology adapted into a hybrid form. Meanwhile, his doppelganger, Thelis, with an incomplete transfer of Marvel Boy's memories was rushed through completion and was released. Marvel Boy, being bonded to the Uranians, was unable to stop him as he flew to Earth. However, he would not reach there until the modern age.

HISTORY
Thelius was one of the Uranian branch of the Eternals who physically resembled Robert Grayson AKA Marvel Boy, formerly a guest of the Eternals. Unknown to Grayson and his father, the headband which the Eternals had given to Grayson was actually transmitting his memories into the mind of Thelius, whom the Eternals intended to use as a backup Marvel Boy if Grayson, their 'ambassador' to Earth, became lost or was killed. Following the destruction of the Uranian Eternals, Thelius went mad and, apparently believing himself to be Grayson, went to Earth as The Crusader in order to seek revenge on the humans he blamed for not saving his people. He fought the Fantastic Four, but was destroyed when his Quantum Bands over-loaded.

A construct duplicate of Crusader was later created by the omnipotent Thanos using the Infinity Gauntlet, using Eon's corpse as fuel for his creation. Calling himself the Blue Marvel, this insane being sought to destroy Quasar and "reclaim" the Quantum Bands.

CONTACTS: Superman

HISTORY
In a Pocket Universe alternate reality, three Kryptonian criminals es-caped the Phantom Zone, and tried to take over that reality's Earth. There was no Superman in this reality (his younger self, Superboy, having died before the criminals' escape) but there was a Lex Luthor who hadn't gone evil. Using an artificial life form called the "protoplasmic matrix," Lex made a red-headed woman who resembled his true love, the deceased alternate reality Lana Lang, even having Lana's memories due to her synaptic pathways being copied into the creature. This Lex had also patterned her physiology to resemble Superman's, whom he had seen using one of his many inventions to look into the mainstream universe.

Like Superman, the creature was super humanly strong and fast and could fly, but also had the powers of shape shifting, telekinesis, and invisibility. The girl, whom Luthor called Matrix, was given a feminine version of Superman's uniform, shape-shifted into a young blonde woman, and fought the three criminals as "Supergirl". Her powers were no match for theirs, however. Desperate, Lex sent Matrix into the mainstream universe to recruit Superman. Her efforts were successful, and Superman did aid in stopping the Kryptonian criminals, but the alternate Earth had been ruined, and was now lifeless. Superman took the orphaned Matrix, now turned into a humanoid form of protoplasm, back to the mainstream DC Universe with him.

Upon arrival on the mainstream Earth, Matrix was taken to live with Superman's parents, the Kents. Jonathan and Martha Kent did a fine job raising their new "daughter", but Matrix (or "Mae" as the Kents named her) became delusional for a time, believing she was Clark, even assuming his form. After a fight with the real Superman, Matrix came to her senses, but concerned that she might become unstable again and cause the Kents harm, she fled into outer space.

After many adventures (or misadventures), she returned to Earth, where she met and fell in love with the mainstream Lex Luthor (Disguised at the time as his own son). Again donning the uniform her reality's Lex had given her, (and once again in the form of the young blonde woman), she assumed the role of Supergirl in the mainstream DC universe, determined to make this Earth a better one than the one she left. One of her first acts was to return to Smallville, Kansas, and reunite with her "parents", Jonathan and Martha Kent.

Her parents and Superman were shocked when they learned that their dear Mae was now dating Luthor. Mae began living with Lex, and even had an altercation with her "brother" Superman over it.

When Doomsday killed Superman, Supergirl used her powers to protect Metropolis, but was met with some derision, as many people saw her as Luthor's "pet". She did an admirable job of rescuing victims, teaching the new hero Superboy about the importance of being serious when saving lives, and helped Superman return once he was found to be alive again. She even posed as Clark Kent, pretending that Clark was trapped in a well-stocked cellar during Doomsday's initial attack, to help explain why Clark was gone while Superman was dead.

But her biggest shock came when she learned that Lex had cloned her, making thousands of his own personal "Supergirls". She went berserk, and destroyed his lab, his clones, and almost killed Lex before he fell into a coma. She decided to join the Teen Titans for a short while, but left shortly afterwards, realizing that it just wasn't for her.

After some soul searching, Mae began to wonder if she was even a real person or if she even had a soul. But this was solved when she held the hand of a dying girl named Linda Danvers. Matrix's shape shifting ability merged the two into the new Supergirl and Mae became the Earth Angel of Fire, simultaneously losing her shape-shifting abilities as she subconsciously defined herself as just Linda and Supergirl. The remnants of her protoplasmic form that were not absorbed in the merge became an evil, insane Matrix, who fought the Mae/Linda merged Supergirl, until she was absorbed by Blithe, the Earth Angel of Light. Later, when the good aspect of Matrix was separated from Linda, she was merged with Twilight, and became a new Angel of Fire.

I still need to do some work on them from what I noticed while copying the file over. Golden Boy, Tyr, and Zymr in particular.

WoW that's a lot of responses. Given that this week is Christmas and should be dead at work, I'm aiming to get caught up with my main file (some 700 builds) and then will work on getting my vol 2 folder up and running.

Medusa was the first of two children born to Inhuman nutritionists Quelin and Ambur. Medusa is considered a member of Attilan's Royal Family. Medusa's parents elected to expose her to the mutagenic Terrigen Mist when she was an infant; the process endowed her with hair she could animate like added appendages. While still an adolescent, she began to make frequent visits to the isolation cell of her second cousin, Black Bolt, and learned to communicate with him in a special sign language. Medusa and Black Bolt developed a bond that blossomed into love when Black Bolt was first allowed out of his cell at age 18.

When the Alpha Primitive worker race revolted, Medusa battled their leaders, the Trikon. Her sky sled crashed in the fight and she be-came an amnesiac wanderer, until the Wizard found her on a small Mediterranean Island, fighting French soldiers. As he was creating an evil version of the Fantastic Four, he needed a woman to join his Frightful Four. Medusa readily agreed and filled out the evil four-some as they tried many times to embarrass and defeat the Fantastic Four. Though they were unsuccessful, their exploits brought Medusa to the attention of her Inhuman family who pursued her. Soon, her cousin Gorgon appeared and chased her along with the Human Torch, who she had forced to help her. A fight between the Human Torch and Medusa awakened the imprisoned Dragon Man, who associated Medusa with the Invisible Girl, who had previously been kind to him. He protected Medusa against Gorgon and the Fantastic Four, until he later captured the Invisible Girl, which distracted the four enough for Gorgon to capture Medusa and bring her back to Black Bolt and her family.

She soon stopped fighting her fellow Inhumans, and joined them in a fight against the Fantastic Four, who arrived to save the Torch; who had fallen in love with Medusa’s sister, Crystal. But when Crystal announced that Triton had been captured by the Seeker, Medusa gathered around her family and teleported with them to Attilan, using Lockjaw. Once there, Maximus gloated over his theft of the crown, due to Black Bolt’s “accidental” loss of his voice. Medusa and he both knew that Black Bolt secretly couldn't use his voice, as it was too dangerous, but when she hinted at this he ignored her and claimed her as his future bride. Black Bolt was not impressed by his show of power, and he tore the Inhuman crown from Maximus’ hands, reclaiming his place as leader of the Inhumans, and Medusa's betrothed. But shortly afterwards, when the Fantastic Four arrived and the Torch reunited with Crystal, Maximus fired his atmo-gun, trying to destroy all of humanity. When his machine didn't work, Medusa realized that it proved Inhumans and humans were of the same race, which infuriated Maximus. He went out of control and reversed his machine, creating a Negative Zone around Attilan that trapped Medusa and the rest of the Inhumans within the refuge, while the Fantastic Four narrowly escaped. Soon, Black Bolt was faced with no other choice but to use his powerful voice, revealing his secret, in order to destroy the barrier surrounding Attilan.

The Council of Elders, in agreement with Black Bolt, later sent Medusa and the royal family back to study human society, where Medusa's own ego led her into conflict with Spider-Man. Medusa was shortly captured by Maximus, who retook the Inhuman crown and imprisoned Black Bolt and the royal family. But Black Bolt used his powerful voice, once more, and freed them to send his brother scurrying away in a hidden rocket. She briefly left Attilan on her own in an attempt to restore Black Bolt's vocal cords and again, under the Enchantress' influence, to join the Lady Liberators. When Sue Richards left the Fantastic Four, Medusa took her place. After serving with the team for several months, Medusa encouraged the Richards' to reconcile, freeing Medusa to return to Attilan as Sue rejoined the Four.

The Royal Family went through troubled times, from banishment at the hands of Maximus to poisoning from Earth's pollution, but Medusa remained the public face of the Inhumans, the interpreter for mute Black Bolt. After Attilan was moved to the Blue Area of the Moon, she and Black Bolt were married, making Medusa queen. When Medusa became pregnant a few months later, Attilan's Genetics Council argued that the mating was unfit (due to the instability of Black Bolt's brother, Maximus) and ordered the pregnancy terminated. Medusa fled to Earth, living in the desert until the child was born. Returning to Attilan, Medusa turned her son over to the Genetics Council, which in turn smuggled him to Earth for testing. Learning of this, Medusa pursued the child; when this ex-posed a grab for power by the Genetics Council, both the royal family and the Genetics Council gave up leadership, though the Royal Family was soon forced to resume leadership. Currently, Medusa, the Royal Family, and the remaining Inhumans have returned to the Blue Area of the Moon, where they are rebuilding Attilan. Medusa has led an effort to bring Inhumans and humans together, beginning with a cultural exchange between the two societies' children.

Medusa was kidnapped along with other famous and infamous superhumans to the artificial planet known as Battleworld. After witnessing Venom apparently murder Spider-Man -- although it was later revealed to be the Space Phantom -- Spider-Man apparently mistook her for Mary Jane as he complimented her hair in his 'last moments', she passed royal judgment that he must undergo fifty lashes.

She next superseded the authority of the Avengers' representative, Janet Van Dyne, and used the control over her hair to create a whip-ping motion so fast that it produced miniature sonic booms, which Venom was especially vulnerable to. While Henry Pym tried to dissuade Medusa from continuing the punishment, Venom was able to stab Medusa through the thigh. Medusa later saved the team during the sudden crash-landing of their space vessel by absorbing the majority of the impact with her hair.

Eventually the team triumphed over the Stranger and returned to Earth. Medusa along with Black Bolt attended the funeral of her teammate Gravity. She gave Gravity's parents a precious statue, the highest honor among the Inhumans, in commemoration of Gravity's sacrifice.

A growing rift between Medusa and Black Bolt had the two disagree on his decision to declare war against the United States for failing to relinquish the Terrigen Crystals that were originally stolen by Quicksilver.

Medusa found herself no longer able to interpret her husband's wishes as she used to. While Medusa was issuing Black Bolt's war declarations to the Inhumans council he became frustrated and snapped his fingers to silence her, indicating that she wasn't relating what he intended. Medusa later confided to Black Bolt that he had never treated her that way before, as if she were a dog, and Black Bolt responded apologetically. Medusa later argued that Black Bolt seemed not to care that their son was being kept in isolation, and advised him that despite his orders she had gone to visit Ahura in his cell on more than one occasion. Black Bolt was angered by this and became physically aggressive with Medusa, grabbing her face and mouth to silence her. In her growing confusion with her husband's actions, Medusa found herself drawn to Maximus against her will and would visit him often in his prison cell. It was revealed by Luna that Maximus had somehow implanted a "darkness" into Medusa's mind that was affecting her actions. Later on, Medusa and Maxi-mus shared a kiss as a distraught Black Bolt watched from the shadows. The truth was that Medusa was not in control of her actions and that she only loved Black Bolt. In the end Black Bolt was confined in prison, Ahura released, and Medusa now at Maximus' side as he assumed the throne of the Inhumans.

During the Skrull invasion of Earth, the Inhumans were also targeted on the moon. It was revealed that Black Bolt had been replaced by a Skrull at some time in the past. Medusa led the Royal Family of the Inhumans in making contact with the Skrulls' oldest enemies, the Kree, and in exchange for their help she offered Crystal's hand in marriage to Ronan. With the Kree's assistance, the House of Agon rescued the real Black Bolt and Ahura, and Black Bolt regained the throne.

Unsatisfied with mere victory over the Skrulls, the Inhumans forged Attilan into a mobile vessel and took to the stars, vanquishing Skrull saucers they came across. The Inhumans made their way to Hala and, in a bloodless coup, named themselves rulers of the Kree.

Medusa was with the Inhumans when they went into space and forged an alliance with the Kree. When Havok, Lilandra Neramani, and the rest of Havok's Starjam-mers gained asylum from Vulcan and his forces, Maximus spoke out, but Medusa pushed him aside. When Ronan was wounded in bat-tle with Vulcan's forces, Medusa stated to the Shi'ar that they had made a big mistake and vowed that they would pay. Medusa then broadcast on Black Bolt's behalf and told the citizens of the Kree Empire that they have suffered an unprovoked assault by the force of the Shi'ar. The shield that once protected their star system had fallen.

During a discussion with the other members of the Inhuman royal family, Medusa stated that Shi'ar blood would spill in the next fight while trying to keep the Kree in line. Medusa and Black Bolt approved of Maximus' idea to create a mechanism to help them in their fight against the Shi'ar. Medusa ended up devastated when the T-Bomb went off with Black Bolt and Vulcan still where the T-Bomb was. While weeping in Crystal's arms, Medusa declared that they have won.

Medusa ended up taking control of the Inhumans following Black Bolt's death. Devos the Devastator soon arrived and ended up inciting a riot in the Alpha Primitives. The Mighty Avengers arrived and helped to quell the riots incited by Devos. Henry Pym learned from Medusa about what happened to Black Bolt and expressed his sor-row for her loss as he too had lost Wasp. Medusa and the rest of the Inhumans dealt with Dr. Vere and Zarek when they plotted to over-throw the Inhuman royal family. It later turned out that the whole rebellion was staged by Maximus on the order of Medusa who tried to stage a rebellion so that the Inhumans could defeat it and come across as necessary rulers for the Kree people.

She also took her husband's place in the Illuminati when Iron Man reassembled the team in response to the Hood's attempts to acquire the Infinity Gems, although in the end Steve Rogers took 'custody' of Black Bolt's Gem at the conclusion of the crisis. Upon Black Bolt's return, the Inhumans decided to re-turn to their original location in the Himalayan Mountains after they abdicated their authority in the Kree Empire.

Medusa and the Inhumans helped the Fantastic Four protect the Earth from the Kree. The Kree targeted Attilan due to the Supreme Intelligence view that Inhumans were a threat. They joined with the Universal Inhumans to defend their species. The Kree retreated when Galactus and the Mad Celestials appeared. Medusa dealt with the issue of Black Bolt having four Universal Inhuman wives presented to him. They communicated through a mind meld that reassured her of her place in his heart.

When the original Fantastic Four planned a trip through time and space, they decided to call four replacements just in case some-thing would happen. Invisible Woman's replacement was Medusa, and the four original members indeed got lost in their adventure.

The Earth heroes fight against Thanos would have major repercussions for the Inhumans. Thanos came to Earth searching for his son, and in the struggle, Black Bolt ended up setting off the Terrigen Bomb, which destroyed the floating city of Attilan. The subsequent release of the Terrigen cloud triggered latent Inhuman genes in some of Earth's population.

With Black Bolt missing, Queen Medusa attended to rebuilding New Attilan, which had fallen into the Hudson River, and aiding the newly transformed Inhumans, dubbed NuHumans. Karnak also revealed to Medusa that Black Bolt knew that there were latent Inhumans in the Earth's population, and killed himself soon after.

Medusa defeated Lash, a rogue Inhuman also gathering New Inhumans. She convinced him to stand down with the help of Line-age, who reveals that all Inhumans will need to unite to face a future war. She dealt with The Unspoken, a former king of Attilan. She refused his offer of marriage, and was captured by him when he re-gained his powers with a secret hoard of Terrigen crystals. He took over the city, but was stopped with the help of New Inhumans.

She sent Auran and Nur to find the missing Black Bolt, but Auran was killed in the attempt by Maximus who forced Black Bolt to use his voice against her. A second at-tempt was more successful after Nur shot Maximus, and Black Bolt was freed from his mind control. However, instead of returning to Attilan, Black Bolt flew off after finding the Codex (the accumulation of all known about the inhuman genome).

After she was subject to the inversion spell while helping the Avengers in Genosha, she re-turned to New Attilan with a more aggressive personality and declares war on humanity. She left Attilan after Triton and Gorgon revealed they tried to stop her. After some time alone, she seemed to recover, and returned to Attilan to help against an attack by Ennilux. There, she was reunited with Black Bolt who had also come to help. When alone, she attacked Black Bolt for setting off the Terrigen Bomb, destroying Attilan, causing the NuHuman crisis and then disappearing without ever telling her anything. She banished him from the throne, and he left.

Lineage convinced Eldrac, an Inhuman portal, to help him betray Medusa and her team. He had them sent into an ambush set up by Lash. Lineage proceeded with his plan to take over Attilan, shooting Gorgon in the back and paralyzing him, and swallowing the disembodied essence of The Capo (former head of Ennilux) to gain his knowledge. Lineage launched an attack on New Jersey. Medusa was beaten by Lash, but rescued by Eldrac who transported them back to New Attilan. Lineage was finally beaten by the explosive re-appearance of Karnak from Line-age's body, which allowed Medusa to subdue the villain.

Black Bolt had given their son Ahura over to Kang for safe-keeping during the Secret Wars, and came back to Medusa for help in rescuing him. Medusa had start-ed a relationship with the Human Torch, and Black Bolt found out. Working together, they launched a mission to save Ahura. They con-front Ahura as an old man who has become a ruthless conqueror, and kill him with Black Bolt's voice. They then traveled back in time to rescue Ahura as a child. In the ensuing battle, Ahura was held hostage by Kang but creates a psychic projection of himself to defeat Kang. The reunited family returned to New Attilan in the present. Medusa introduced Ahura to the Quiet Room, a club for metahumans run by Black Bolt.

Crystal found out about the affair between her sister Medusa and her ex-boyfriend the Human Torch, and reacted badly. They nonetheless united to fight against the Tourneyman.

Medusa decided to stand down after rescuing the inhuman Ulysses from Tony Stark. However, other Inhumans weren't so forgiving and Lash with Maximus' help started a campaign against Stark Industries. This brought the Inhumans into conflict with the Avengers, and led to Iron Man invading New Attilan. The attack was repelled by the NuHumans, and a truce was arranged between Medusa and Tony Stark. After losing his destructive voice briefly, Black Bolt took the opportunity to apologize out loud to Medusa.

When it was discovered that the two Terrigen Clouds were toxic and could even be fatal to mutants, resulting in a disease known as M-Pox, Medusa agreed to work together with Storm of the X-Men to find a solution to this matter, which led to biophysicist Beast moving to New Attilan. Unfortunately, a group of X-Men led by Emma Frost escalated this issue when they made public the discovery of Terrigen's toxicity, accusing the Inhumans of liars, and blaming them for this predicament. This group of X-Men then sparked tensions between Storm's team and the Inhumans, taking advantage of the distraction caused by the ensuing skirmish to neutralize one of the Terrigen Clouds with the aid of Alchemy.

Following the destruction of the cloud, Frost's X-Men were con-fronted by Black Bolt and Medusa. Cyclops pushed Black Bolt into killing him, aggravating the situation. In reality, the Cyclops who confronted the Inhumans had been a mental projection cast by Emma Forst, with the real Cyclops having died earlier of M-Pox. Storm prevented more violence by negotiating a truce between the X-Men and the Inhumans.

Beast was not able to find a solution to the Terrigen poisoning, with predictions that the Earth would become uninhabitable for mutants in a matter of weeks, and so the X-Men prepared to destroy the remaining cloud. They broke the truce, and neutralized Black Bolt, Lockjaw and Karnak before attacking New Attilan. Medusa was fighting Young Beast when Nightcrawler teleported she and then the rest of her team of Inhumans (and also the Human Torch) into an prison sphere in Limbo. Medusa concocted a plan to escape the sphere, and they attacked X-Haven in Limbo, from where they freed Black Bolt. With the help of Lockjaw, they teleported out of Limbo.

Medusa and the Royal family then joined the final battle against the X-Men in Iceland, where the Terrigen Cloud was going to pass by. A group of Nuhumans had discovered of the X-Men's motives to attack them, and were trying to help destroy the cloud. These Nuhumans informed Medusa about the X-Men's motive for the conflict. As a result, when the Ennilux arrived to facilitate the Nuhumans with a device to purge the Terrigen, Medusa agreed to destroy it, even if it cost the future of her species. However, Emma Frost was determined to kill the Inhumans, and called forth Sentinels reprogrammed to kill Inhumans. Both the X-Men and the Inhumans united to fight them. Medusa called upon Black Bolt instead of Human Torch to take her up to Emma as she realized the need to inspire her team. She captured Emma, but was knocked out by a blast from Havoc who left with her. Upon Medusa's return to New Attilan, she abdicated the throne, and enlisted Iso as New Attilan's acting head of state until a democratic government could be formed. Freed of her duties as a queen, Medusa left the Human Torch to reunite with Black Bolt. Unfortunately, they failed to reignite the flame of their relationship, but opted to remain together to keep up appearances and inspire their people.

Medusa led the Inhumans to capture Maximus, making of her last official act as a queen to sentence him to a secure facility in the stars for the rest of his life. However, little did anybody know that Maximus had actually used image inducers to switch places with his brother in the last second, impersonating Black Bolt while the real Blackagar was sent to the secret prison.

The alternate reality Kree warrior Marvel Boy offered the Inhuman Royal Family hope for a solution to the destroyed Terrigen, suggesting that a future for the Inhumans could result from a journey to the ruins of Hala. Medusa decided to lead the expedition, feeling that even if there was a chance it was a suicide mission, it was her penance for compromising the future of Inhumanity. She was joined by other Inhumans, including Gorgon and the disguised Maximus. Maximus' deception was unfolded early on, but Medusa couldn't do much since the sentence meant for Maximus entailed that making contact with Black Bolt or the prison where he was being held was impossible. To make matters worse, every trace of Terrigen in Medusa's body mysteriously began reacting against her system, rapidly deteriorating her health, which was first marked by the loss of her hair. While the origin of this ailment was a mystery, Noh-Varr suggested that since Terrigen itself blurs the lines between science, magic and religion, it was possible the Terrigen within her body was acting in revenge for the destruction of the cloud.

When the exploratory crew reached Hala, they were confronted by Ronan the Accuser. After defeating him, Noh-Varr resurrected his reality's Plex Intelligence using the remains of the Supreme Intelligence. Thanks to the Plex Intelligence, Noh-Varr and the Inhumans learned of the existence of Primagen, the substance from which Terrigen derived, which had been used by the eons-old race known as the Progenitors to create the Kree in the same way the Kree went on the create the Inhumans. On the Plex Intelligence's guidance, the explorers traveled to Centauri-IV to investigate the Skyspear which had landed there. After defeating a group of Snarks that attempted to steal the Inhumans' powers, Gorgon and Medusa kissed, acting on the latent romantic feelings they had for each other.

The crew's next destiny was determined by Maximus after calculating the trajectory of the Skyspear back to its point of origin, the Progenitor's World Farm. The crew was attacked by the Progenitors as soon as they approached their base, barely making it alive to a Primagen deposit. With few minutes left before a horde of Progenitors came down on the intruders, Flint created a crystal pod with which the Inhumans escaped from the World Farm with samples of Primagen. However, Gorgon decided to stay behind and make a last stand against the Progenitors to buy the rest enough time to flee. As the survivors were making their way to Earth, Maximus boosted his powers with a sample of Primagen, catching a glimpse of a future in which the Progenitors destroyed the Earth as a result of the actions of Medusa and her crew.

The Inhumans settled on the Moon in order to prepare for the invasion. Maximus determined that the best battleground to confront the Progenitors was the Astral Plane, since for them the Earthers' primitive minds were alien and represented a weak spot. When a group of Progenitors arrived, Reader sent Medusa to the Astral Plane, where she embarked on a metaphysical journey with Black Bolt's own astral projection. In the process, they mended their relationship and found strength in each other once again, deciding to move forward as partners but not lovers. This resolution gave Medusa the resolve necessary to make a sample of Primagen have effect on her. The Primagen restored Medusa's health and grew back her hair. A Progenitor attempted to assimilate Medusa's mind into their collective consciousness right at the same moment, leading to a backlash that destroyed them, and as a result averted any further attempts of invasion.

HISTORY
Mekanique comes from the 23rd Century, from a future era that resembles Fritz Lang's film Metropolis, where a small elite ruled despotically over a downtrodden slave race. The elite were in danger of being overthrown due to a woman named Maria, who led the slaves into open rebellion. To combat this, an evil scientist named Rotwang created her and gave her the ability to travel back in time for the purpose of making sure Maria would never be born.

She arrived in 1942, appearing suddenly in the headquarters of the All-Star Squadron; badly damaged, Mekanique attacked Fire-brand. Before she can be destroyed by Green Lantern, Robot-man steps in and offered to repair her. A subsequent power surge threatened to destroy the head-quarters, but instead restores Mekanique. She revealed that she is from the far future, and had returned to the past to prevent a horrible future war. Mekanique shows the heroes an image of a child about to be killed in a car accident, and they save her, thus changing the future. However, she reveals to Robotman secretly that the rescue of the child did not prevent the future war, but instead made certain that it took place. She also reveals that she had been holding back the "sweeping effects" of the Crisis On Infinite Earths from taking place until her mission has been fulfilled, and so causes the effects to take hold, blanking out Robotman's memory so that he cannot warn his fellow Squadron members.

Sometime after Johnny Chambers brought Helena Kosmatos to America, she starts having visions of a giant Mekanique attacking and massacring the entire All-Star Squadron. Soon afterward, Mekanique meets Per Degaton while he was still an assistant at the Time Trust. She convinced Degaton to help her in her fight against the All-Star Squadron, in exchange for teaching him the secrets of time travel. It is here where Helena's vision comes true in a different sense -- Mekanique shrinks the entire All-Star Squadron minus the Young All-Stars to doll-size and attacks them in a model of a futuristic metropolis. However, with the help of the Young All-Stars, Robotman was able to activate a destruct mechanism that destroys Mekanique's body, leaving her head intact, thus restoring the All-Star Squadron members to normal size. Degaton managed to escape with Mekanique's head, and keeps it with him for the next five years, during which they fall in love.

By 1947, Degaton, Mekanique, and a new ally, Professor Malachi Zee, have managed to build a working time machine. Mekanique gave Degaton a crystal that would give power to the time machine to travel through time. Degaton, wanting the machine for himself, shoots Zee, who falls into the machine and accidentally sends it forty years into the future. Degaton lunged at the machine to prevent it from traveling to the future without him, but fails. When Mekanique suggests they wait forty years for the machine to reappear, Degaton snaps and buries Mekanique's head.

Forty years later, Degaton, now resigned to waiting for the time machine, reconstructed Mekanique. She appeared during the time of the Crisis on Infinite Earths in 1985 to manipulate Commander Steel into kidnapping and tampering with his grandson, who at the time became the Justice League hero known as Steel. As the Justice League teams together with the Justice Society and Infinity, Inc. to confront Mekanique in order to free the two heroes from her influence, she vanishes. She reappeared in Los Angeles a few years later to bring an aged Degaton who was struck by a car back to life, and the two of them attack Infinity, Inc. at the scheduled return site of the time machine. When the time machine appears, it contains not only the body of Zee, but a younger Degaton. This duplicate version of Degaton had been created by the chronal energies of the time machine as Degaton had lunged at the machine in 1947. The elder Degaton vanishes from existence at the appearance of his younger self, but fearing that the young Degaton would destroy her again, Mekanique activates a self-destruct that kills Degaton along with her-self.

CONTACTS: Apollo, The Authority

HISTORY
Midnighter, alongside his future husband Apollo, was part of a top secret StormWatch team created by the first Weatherman, Henry Bendix. Nobody but Bendix himself knew of the team's existence. Bendix built them as superhuman and, when they donned their costumes and spoke their codenames, their previous identities ceased to exist.

However, this secret team was all but destroyed during their first mission, Apollo and Midnighter being the only survivors. They went rogue and spent the next five years undercover fighting for a finer world in the alleyways of America. One mission took them to Britain, where they thwarted Bendix's attempts at experimenting on children to create superhumans, in the process developing links with MI5. They remained unknown to Stormwatch until Christine Trelane found the files about their team after Bendix's fall.

Jackson King, formerly Battalion, now the new Weatherman, ordered them found, not being sure whether they were heroes or villains. Midnighter and Apollo were after weapons made in the "Nevada Garden", a relic of the first Engineer. He ordered Fahrenheit and Hellstrike to tag them with fetishes so they could be transported into SkyWatch. Midnighter and Apollo first attacked the Stormwatch team, believing them under Bendix's orders. However, they ceased the attack once they were told Bendix was dead. With King's help, they violently retrieved the Garden from the U.S. Army, and King granted them what they asked for: new lives away from Stormwatch.

After Stormwatch was destroyed, Jenny Sparks convinced both Midnighter and Apollo to come out of retirement and join her new group, The Authority. A formidable fighter with a sardonic attitude, Midnighter epitomized the new team's commitment to fighting for a finer world, including against vested interests and world governments. He was the architect of the team's first significant victory, the defeat of autocratic dictator Kaizen Gamorra, which he achieved by dropping the 50-mile-long Carrier on to Gamorra's island base.

Midnighter was the only Authority member to evade capture when the US government had the team attacked and replaced with manipulable substitutes. Presumed dead, Midnighter had in fact escaped the Carrier with baby Jenny Quantum. He returned to overthrow the puppet team and rescue Apollo from imprisonment and abuse at the hands of their replacements. Shortly thereafter Midnighter and Apollo were married and adopted Jenny.

Midnighter took a central role during the Authority's brief over the United States. A visitation, apparently from a future Apollo, convinced Midnighter that he was on the path to becoming a malign dictator. To avoid this fate Midnighter quit the team, precipitating its break-up, and returned to life fighting solo on the streets. Raised alone by Apollo, Jenny exploited her powers to age herself to young adulthood and reformed the Authority. Having convinced Midnighter to rejoin the team Jenny discovered he was being manipulated by a dimension-hopping Henry Bendix, hitherto assumed dead. Midnighter fought for Bendix before the Engineer was able to break the mind-control; Midnighter then killed Bendix by ripping out his spine.

Circumstances have twice forced Midnighter, very much against his will, to team up with Kev Hawkins, a homophobic former-SAS soldier and eponymous protagonist of the Authority. A relationship made worse by the fact that on their first meeting, Kev killed him, Apollo and the rest of the Authority, though the Carrier resurrected them. On their last meeting they took down MI5's Royal Oak project, an attempt at replicating Bendix's experiments.

When Captain Atom was displaced into the Wildstorm Universe and posed a threat to the said universe due to possessing a fragment of the Void entity, the Authority initially had tried in helping Captain Atom and forcing Jack Hawksmoor to order Midnighter and Apollo to kill Captain Atom, in which the two killed Grifter who was fighting for Captain Atom, and brought him to the Carrier. However, when Apollo hit Atom with his eyebeams, he inadvertently triggered Atom's imminent destiny causing him to transform into a menacingly glowing form. Apollo is then killed upon touching Captain Atom by being incinerated into a charred skeleton right before Midnighter's eyes. Enraged, and disobeying Hawksmoor's command, Midnighter tried to attack Atom but is then killed too like his husband. Following the reboot of the Wildstorm Universe, Midnighter was among those who were killed in the previous universe (such as Grifter) to relived anew in the newly created Wildstorm universe.

After returning from a mission in war-torn Afghanistan, Midnighter was attacked and kidnapped by unknown agents while passing through the Carrier's teleportation portal. He awoke in a facility in Hamburg, Germany, where a man named Anton Paulus told him that he was disrupting his ability to guess his opponents' moves, and that he had removed his secondary heart and replaced it with a remote-detonated bomb.

Paulus gave Midnighter the choice of either working for him, or dying, showing him a photograph of the person he wanted Midnighter to kill: Adolf Hitler. Time-traveling back to the First World War trenches, Midnighter encountered Hitler as a young corporal in the German army, but was apprehended by 'time police' officers from the 95th century before carrying out his mission. In his struggle to escape, he crashed the officers' time machine at the year 1945 - shortly before Hitler's expected suicide. Eventually he allied himself with them and worked his way back to his own time, where he threatened to erase Paulus from history by killing his kidnapped younger self; it is unclear whether or not he would have executed the child, but ultimately he did not have to. After informing Paulus that he discovered in the past that the real reason he wanted Hitler dead was to allow his father, a Nazi official, to become a more effective ruler than Hitler, Midnighter killed Paulus via decapitation and returned the child to the time police to be sent back to the past. Midnighter then returned to the Carrier, but was apparently just as listless as before, immediately setting himself on another mission in Iraq.

Midnighter's attempts to connect better with humans after the graphic and public disposal of supervillain "Suicide King". Trying to help a girl find her pet cat finds him stumble upon a mad scientist who has been kidnapping pets for his cybernetic experiments. After defeating him, he employs the scientist to experiment on the murderers and dictators he acquires before deciding to adopt the one pet the Doctor could not repair or rehome: a cyborg dog.

Midnighter managed to retrieve all the information about his former life prior to his reprogramming by Henry Bendix given by Jenny Quarx, and discovered that his real name is Lucas Trent, that he was born on July 14, 1967 (making him 40 years old in 2007), and that he hailed from Harmony, Indiana. On visiting the town he found it was the hub of a paramilitary patriotic organization named Anthem, with ambitions to take over the United States and provide the country with the conscience they felt it had lost. While battling Anthem and its super powered operatives, he discovered that Jenny had falsified the documents she gave him, and that he had never been Trent - but decided to stay on in Harmony nonetheless.

Following the Number of the Beast incident, Midnighter was one of the last Authority members still able to act in the ruins of London, now called UnLondon. Separated from Apollo, who was confined to the upper atmosphere by sunlight-blocking fog over the planet's surface, Midnighter helps civilians to reach the ruins of the Carrier, now a stronghold for survivors. When former Changer member, The Eidolon posed a threat in UnLondon, Midnighter was the only one to confront him and savagely killed him. However, Eidolon is eternally immortal thus making him the actual victor and Midnighter was subsequently told off by the undead being that for everything that the Authority had ever done was through violence and as an insult to injury, Eidolon politely informed Midnighter that he and his forces will not attack the Carrier.

The Carrier later suffered an Incubite outbreak among the refugees, and Apollo was forced to eradicate the infection, but was then infected himself. Midnighter, unknown to this, remained concerned of Apollo's long absence as while his husband attempted to burn his infection in the sun, but only for it to gain sentience and total domination of his body, calling itself "The Burn". The Burn soon fought the Authority and was eventually subdued by being frozen and imprisoned in cold storage until they could find a cure for him.

Midnighter later dreamed a prophetic nightmare about the Warhol infected Apollo, Midnighter was visited by an unidentifiable girl who told him to "go north, heal the land, and heal the wounded king". He decided to follow what the dream told as he believed that what he might discover would cure Apollo, and left the Carrier. Upon arriving the Scottish borders, he discovered a fully vegetated island that is prevented from access by guards. Midnighter fought his way and even encountering a dragon. After infiltrating the island, he witnessed a being calling itself The Green Man murdered a group of refugees who were previously told by the being that it would "heal" them. Deciding himself in killing the being, Midnighter sneaked into the island's castle where it lived, but was then captured by living vines and is brought to the Green Man, and was shocked to discover that the Green Man is the Authority's missing and insane Doctor, Habib bin Hassan. The Doctor, believing that mankind is at fault for Earth's devastation, tortures Midnighter. As he is being tortured, Midnighter finds himself astral projected and meets with the girl from his dreams to be the Century Baby, Gaia Rothstein. Gaia revealed that she was responsible for calling Midnighter as she believed that he could stop the mad Doctor that has been controlling her for his own ends and promise that she have a way in healing Apollo. Upon returning back to his body, Midnighter was about to be executed by the Doctor until the Authority timely arrived thanks to Gaia. After the Authority defeated the Doctor, who he faded away, a freed Gaia gave Midnighter an apple that contains the cure to cleansing Apollo's infection. After returning to the Carrier, Midnighter fed a slice of the apple to Apollo which successfully cured him. Together, the couple embraced again after a longtime of separation.

Following the Carrier's activation and flight to an unknown location, Midnighter and Apollo decided to stay on Earth as the former still has faith for Earth's survival and the latter having to stay near the sun. The couple shortly then participated in Earth's war against the Knights of Khera, in which they succeeded in destroying one of the Knights' terraforming machines at the North Pole. After the Knights' defeat, Midnighter supported Spartan's plan in rebuilding Earth and unifying the planet. When Zealot shared her outright disagreement over this and deciding to leave on her own, along with Maul, in training the survivors of Earth into a planetary defense force, Midnighter was cautious over this and shared his warnings with Zealot if she ever undermines Spartan and the other heroes who supported him.

In the next three months of Earth's reconstruction, Midnighter remained suspicious of Zealot and decided on spying on her before personally telling Apollo of his mission and that he will be absent for some time. He then teleported to Zanzibar where Zealot established the nation as her domain to train her own Coda. Midnighter then confronted and beaten Jeremy Stone, and demanded answers from Stone in which Midnighter learned that he and Zealot are using Kheran technology to impregnate women, who volunteered to the Coda, and then accelerate the growth of their (female) babies and then train them as part of Zealot's army. But, the process was near-fatal for the women as the technology was reserved for Kherubims. Midnighter was disgusted in learning this, and especially from Maul who was willingly to go along with Zealot's plans. Subsequently, Midnighter confronted Zealot and engaged her in single combat. Throughout their fight, the two were evenly matched as they argued back and forth of their flaws in which Zealot struck a chord in Midnighter in being unable to save his adopted daughter Jenny Quarx. Eventually both combatants were literally grabbing at each other’s throats when Maul, who grew tired of the violence and the guilt for cooperating with Zealot's plan, intervened to stop their fight; however, Maul was close to being cut down by Zealot's sword due to her reflex, which forced him to shrunk down to the subatomic level to escape from harm. Everyone, including Midnighter, believed that Maul was disintegrated in which Midnighter chastised Zealot for 'killing' her friend and also losing him to maintain the machines for the pregnancies. But Zealot only tells him that she and her Coda will move elsewhere. Midnighter vowed to follow her wherever she goes, though he was shook over what Zealot said about the loss of Jenny Quarx.

ADDITIONAL NOTES

HISTORY
Scot, the son of New Genesis' leader Highfather, was traded as a child to New Genesis' greatest enemy Apokolips as a means of keeping the peace between the two worlds. In exchange for giving up his son, Highfather in turn received Darkseid's son, however the peace was short lived as both planets soon reengaged back into war.

On Apokolips, Scot grew up in Granny Goodness' Orphanage, a torture camp run by Granny Goodness. There, Scot met his future wife Barda, and the two endured Goodness' torturous punishments before escaping years later as adults. Scot used Granny's punishments to practice the escaping skills he would become famous for in the future.

Adopting the name "Mister Miracle", Scot and Barda got married. However, at some point afterwards, Scot was recaptured by Darkseid and forced to become the sentient host of the Black Racer for a time before somehow escaping its control.

Miracle and Barda, considered enemies of Apokolips, went into hiding on Earth 2, until, years later, Miracle returned to his place as a hero and, for a time, worked alongside Batman and the Wonders of the World.

Miracle was enchained by Bedlam, using him to contact Apokolips under the watch of Fury and Barda, waiting for the right chance to escape which, once presented, used to imprison his captor inside Sloan's mind. Once there, Miracle and Sloan used Bedlam's sins against him, turning him to ashes.

The World Army held him captive with the intention of interrogating him before being forcefully released by Fury and Barda. Once freed he was looking for his Mother Box, so the World Army made a deal with him. Once returned to him by James Olsen, he purified everyone's minds of Bedlam's remaining influence and begun the preparation for the invasion of Apokolips, to which Miracle suggested a subtle approach for the attack, preferring to travel on spaceship rather than Boom-Tube. Right before they could launch to Apokolips, the power of the Fury of Famine was consuming his human allies' life, so he was forced to Boom-Tube them to the assault ship.

Finally arriving to Apokolips' atmosphere, he noticed the planet was starving to death, thus the perfect chance to stop Darkseid. Searching for the Mobius Chamber key, Miracle confronted Paternus and took the key from him, ordering Barda and Fury to distract him while he went to the planet's heart. He confronted Darkseid about himself, asking the evil god answers but got nothing from him, so he used Terrific's Boom Spheres to destroy Darkseid, unintentionally freeing him from his seal.

Betrayed by his father and Barda, Miracle was defeated and Fury surrendered to Darkseid, leaving him alone. To his surprise, Fury double-crossed Darkseid for him, joining him on his battle against the evil God. Teleporting his human allies out of harm's way, Miracle was still wounded by Barda's betrayal, wondering if he can trust anyone again, but was told by Fury that they were both betrayed and they must seek retribution instead of vengeance.

They went to the Slums of Apokolips in order to detonate a powerful explosive on the planet, but they were no means of protection, so Terrific told Miracle and Fury to tap into their transportation devices' power to create a shield to protect them from the blast. Unsure, they both managed to successfully defend themselves and their allies from the explosion, but it wasn't enough to destroy Apokolips.

Boom-Tubing back to Amazonia, Miracle informed Jimmy of the situation, learning from him that Commander Khan's sacrifice gave them a chance to survive. However, the space craft was too far and small, thus they requested Dr. Crane's assistance on the matter. As they launched to the escape craft, Apokolips' Tick Mines destroyed their rocket and nearly killed their human allies if not for their Aero-Discs to take them to safety inside the craft, successfully surviving the vacuum. But the craft's systems could not be accessed, thus their required the help from Terry Sloan.

As Miracle reluctantly followed Sloan's commands, the ship apparently exploded when it was actually a ruse to fool Apokolips into making them believe they were destroyed. It was nearly futile, as not all survivors could fit on the escape crafts, but Terrific told them that they will find a solution when Green Lantern arrived. They all combined their resources to summon multiple crafts throughout the Multiverse to save the remaining survivors, but Apokolips' forces grounded the fleet of Earth, leaving even less survivors.

And after Green Lantern successfully teleported the last survivors and Apokolips devoured Earth, Scot told Fury that they will make a new home somewhere else, but they will do it without him.

At some point Barda fell in love with Scot and betrayed Darkseid. The two were wed.

Scot returned to Apokolips to discover what Darkseid was after now, infiltrating his throne room to access his secret files. He uncovered information about his target when Darkseid discovered him. In the ensuing fight, Mister Miracle was wounded but could escape through a Boom-Tube.

Landing on Earth, he found Lashina and Kanto who immediately confronted him in battle and nearly killed him until he once again managed to Boom-Tube away. This time he arrived near a strange woman, who offered him to join her in her war against Darkseid. She tried to convince him that the coming war was necessary to kill the Dark God, that the billion human casualties were the price to pay, but Scot didn't agreed with her, so the Amazon tried to slay him before Scot once again escaped through Boom-Tube.

He landed on the Rock of Eternity, finally coming across the Justice League to explain them the situation and request their help, noticing that Batman is above Metron's Mobius Chair. He managed to get the League's assistance to stop Darkseid, but before departing, he immobilized Metron because of the latter's treachery.

Once in the battlefield, Scot battled against Kanto until Darkseid finally met his death at the hand of the Anti-Monitor. Confirming the despot's demise, he went to explain the truth behind the Black Racer to its current host, explaining that escaping from death is beyond even him.

After the Dark God's death, Kanto engaged Scot in battle with Scot nearly being killed again before Barda boom tubed to his location and saved him. Barda would then go on to take care of Kalibak, whilst she did this Scot voiced his reservations about being seen with her as he wondered what the Furies and Granny Goodness would think if they were seen together, but before he could finish Barda interrupted him with a passionate kiss and told him to let them try to do something to get between them. Barda offered Lashina to let bygones be bygones, but Lashina refused her and vowed to continue pursuing her and Scot.

After the dust settled, he and the League would talk about their next plan of action. It was ultimately decided that they would need the Crime Syndicate's help in defeating Mobius, as they were the only ones with experience fighting him. In order to do this they had to break into Belle Reve.

While his wife provided a distraction, Scot was able to confront Ultraman. When Scot asked what Mobius goal was Ultraman, with tears in his eyes, said: "to kill every last one of us." Barda then broke down the door and told him she saw a green explosion down the hall. When they arrived they saw that Power Ring had taken complete control of Jessica Cruz and had hacked into Cyborg, Superwoman then used heat vision to blast Scot and Barda into the hall at which point Owlman blew open a hole in the prison wall and proclaimed that the Crime Syndicate and the Justice League must work together if they wish to defeat Mobius.

Scot helped Justice League fighting the resurrected Darkseid and Grail. After the war, Barda left him and rejoined the Furies.
