KNOWN POWERS:
Elongation: Reed can stretch or deform any part of his body with Monstrous (75) rank. This enables him to elongate any part of his body any distance up to 1500 feet. He most often uses this to increase his reach and travel speed.

Plasticity: Reed can consciously distort any part of his body with Amazing (50) rank. This enables him to perform a variety of Stunts that simulate other powers.
  • Bouncing Ball—Reed can travel at Amazing (50) speed by transforming himself into any of a number of resilient shapes, such as balls or springs.
  • Gliding—Reed can transform himself into aerodynamic shapes such as parachutes or hang-gliders. In normal air, he only drops 15 ft for each turn he stays aloft. In this form he can support an additional 1000 pounds (enough to hold the rest of Fantastic Four).
  • Imitation—Reed can alter his basic features to resemble any other man with his hair and skin tone.
  • Phasing—Reed can lower his body’s cohesion to such an extent he can actually flow through minute openings.
  • Shapeshifting—Reed can transform himself into any solid mass he can imagine. Normally he takes such forms as spheres, rectangular solids, pyramids, and so on, rather than complex shapes such as those of other lifeforms.
  • Two-Dimensionality—Reed can flatten himself to the thickness of a sheet of paper or narrow his body’s width to pass through the eye of a needle.
Body Armor: Reed’s malleable form gives him Remarkable (30) protection against physical attacks and Good (10) protection against energy attacks. By enveloping a bomb and then expanding along with the explosion, Reed can reduce the force of the blast by his Power rank number. Feats such as this physically exhaust Reed, though. He cannot do it often. In game terms, Reed must make a FEAT roll at his Power rank against the intensity of the explosion every time he tries to envelop explosions once he has absorbed 20 points of damage.

Hyper-Intelligence: Reed’s Amazing (50) Reason is one of the highest in the galaxy, insofar as engineering and laboratory work are concerned.

Hyper-Invention: Reed’s Amazing (50) rank makes him one of the leading inventors in the world today. He is not only able to formulate his theories but actually create practical devices utilizing them, often while the rest of the Fantastic Four stand around watching. He can operate or alter previously unknown alien devices within minutes of first encountering them.

TALENTS: Science: all; Electronics (+2cs); Engineering (+2cs); Physics (+2cs); Repair/Tinker

CONTACTS: Fantastic Four, Avengers, Illuminati

HISTORY
Reed Richards was born in Central City, California the only son of wealthy physicist Nathaniel Richards and his wife Evelyn, was a child prodigy with special aptitude in mathematics, physics, and mechanics. Evelyn died when Reed was seven.

Nathaniel encouraged and guided young Reed in his scientific studies, and Reed was taking college-level courses. Reed entered college at fourteen at CalTech (California Institute of Technology). He also at-tended Harvard University and M.I.T. He studied abroad at the University of Vienna in Austria. It is there he met fellow "super-genius"; Alyssa Moy. By the time he was eighteen, he had obtained four degrees in fields such as engineering, math, and physics.

It was when he was working on his fifth at at State University in Hegeman, New York, that Reed Richards first met two of the most important individuals in his life. He was as-signed to room with a foreign student, a scientific genius named Victor von Doom. The imperious Von Doom, taking an immediate dislike to Richards, decided to take other quarters. Instead, Richards gained as his roommate former high school football star Benjamin J. Grimm, who became Richards’ closest friend. Richards was already intending to build a starship for interstellar travel. When he told his ambitions to Grimm, Grimm jokingly said that he would pilot the starship for Richards someday.

While attending State University, Richards rented living quarters at the Manhattan boarding house owned by the aunt of a young woman named Susan Storm. Reed instantly fell in love with Sue, although he soon deemed it prudent to move out, because he was too distracted from his work due to his romance with Sue.

Doom became obsessed with developing a machine that could project the astral form of a being into other dimensions. Reed pointed out a flaw in Doom's calculations, but Doom arrogantly ignored his warning, feeling that Reed was trying to upstage him. The machine exploded, scarring Doom's face. He was soon expelled for conducting unethical experiments. As Doctor Doom, von Doom would later become Richards’ greatest rival and enemy. Doom blamed Reed for his deformities and he continually tried to prove himself superior to Reed, especially intellectually. They battled many times, but Reed almost always emerged triumphantly.

Reed and Ben later served in the military together. Their time in war increased their trust in each other.

Three years before Reed Richards tested his starship, his father mysteriously disappeared. In fact, Nathaniel Richards had devised a time machine which he had used to attempt to journey into the future of his own world. However, the machine actually transported him to an alternate Earth with a history considerably different from our own. Reed Richards would be reunited with him while visiting this alternate Earth years later. Before Nathaniel Richards left his own time, he made arrangements that left two billion dollars to his son. Reed Richards spent most of the money on his project to build and launch his star-ship. This project, based in Central City, California, received further funding from the federal government.

Richards recruited his old friend Ben Grimm, who had become a successful test pilot and astronaut, to pilot the starship. Richards was joined in California by Susan Storm. Richards and Storm were dating at the time.

Shortly before the starship was to be launched, Richards used his scientific knowledge to defeat the extraterrestrial being Gormuu, who had intended to conquer Earth. Richards’ encounter with Gormuu strengthened his resolve to finish the starship, which he saw as a first step for mankind to defend itself from extraterrestrial threats.

However, the federal government then threatened to withdraw its funding from the project. Richards decided to take the starship on a test flight himself before the funding was withdrawn. Grimm was op-posed to the idea, warning that the starship's shielding might prove inadequate protection from the in-tense radiation storms. Nevertheless, Grimm was persuaded to serve as pilot, and Susan Storm and her adolescent brother Johnny insisted on accompanying Richards as passengers. The four friends stole onto the launch facility, entered the starship, and blasted off. They intended to travel through hyperspace in the ship to another solar system and back in order to convince the government to reconsider. However, unknown to Richards, a solar flare caused Earth's Van Allen radiation belts to be filled temporarily with unprecedented, ultra-high levels of cosmic radiation. Since the ship was designed to shield against ordinary levels of radiation, the cabin volume was subjected to to intense cosmic ray bombardment which irradiated the four passengers and wrought havoc on the ship's controls. Pilot Grimm was forced to abort the flight and return to Earth.

Once back on Earth, the four passengers discovered that the cosmic radiation had triggered mutagenic changes in their bodies. Reed Richards discovered that his body had become malleable and that he now had the ability to elongate his body at will. Richards convinced the others that the four of them should use their new-found powers for the good of humanity as members of a team he named the Fantastic Four. Richards, who became the team’s leader, named himself Mister Fantastic, while Ben Grimm, Susan Storm, and Johnny Storm named themselves the Thing, the Invisible Girl (later the Invisible Woman), and the Human Torch, respectively. The profits from Richard's patents and royalties funded the team's activities.

Under Richards’ leadership the Fantastic Four has become Earth’s most honored team of superhuman adventurers, and has saved the world from conquest or destruction many times. Richards proposed to and eventually married Susan Storm in a wedding ceremony at-tended by most of the world's he-roes, and they had a son, Franklin.

Franklin proved to be a vastly powerful mutant whose fluctuating abilities have alternately saved or men-aced both the Fantastic Four and the world, forcing Reed to take steps to contain Franklin's powers. On one such occasion, Franklin's mind was temporarily shut down. An outraged Sue, already resentful of Reed at this point because she felt that he did not regard her as an equal, left her husband and quit the team. She was replaced in the Fantastic Four for an extended period by Medusa of the Inhumans, but Sue reclaimed her spot on the roster after she and Reed finally reconciled. However, Reed and Sue were separated.

A number of Earth's most powerful heroes -- Mister Fantastic, Doctor Strange, Black Bolt, Professor X, Iron Man, and Namor -- traveled to Skrullos to confront the Skrull King, informing him that the Earth was strictly off-limits. Upon arrival, how-ever, the heroes were captured and experimented upon before they were able to escape. Mr. Fantastic would later blame himself for the Skrulls increased transforming powers. While the meeting predict-ably turned violent, the experience would provide the basis for the later establishment of the Illuminati. The secretive group of Earth's most influential heroes would meet only a few times, and these, only to tackle events of extraordinary importance. Reed added the viewpoint and perspective of a scientist.

After losing his powers for a time, Reed was imprisoned and impersonated by the Brute, his then-criminally insane counterpart from the High Evolutionary's Counter-Earth, who ultimately exiled himself to the Negative Zone after finally regaining his senses.

The Fantastic Four even broke up for a while, during which time Doom hypnotized Reed into capturing his former teammates as the Invincible Man. The team regrouped after Reed took a solo space flight into the Van Allen radiation belts, guided by information from colleague Stephen Beckley (later Comet Man), regaining his powers at amplified levels, and the Fantastic Four foiled Doom's latest world-conquering plot. Later, seeking a more normal family life, Reed and Sue established a household in small town Belle Porte, Connecticut for a while, living quietly in disguise there as the Benjamin family while continuing to serve with the Fantastic Four in their original identities.

After a conflict during which he mercifully spared the life of the planet-eater Galactus, Reed found himself placed on trial in an inter-stellar court by survivors of the many worlds Galactus had consumed; but Reed was exonerated once the last-minute testimony of Eternity proved to the court that Galactus was a necessary aspect of the cosmos.

On the family front, Sue's second child was stillborn despite Reed's frantic efforts to save their unborn baby; Reed discovered that his own long-lost father Nathaniel was living a new life with a new family on Other Earth; and an embittered Thing quit the Fantastic Four, partly be-cause a well-intentioned Reed had withheld information from him regarding the state of Ben's ability to resume human form, an ability Ben lost due in part to Reed's misinformation. Ben's hand-picked re-placement, She-Hulk, served a long stint with the Fantastic Four, but eventually left after Ben finally reconciled with the group and rejoined their ranks.

Seeking a more normal family life again, Reed and Sue retired from the Fantastic Four altogether to concentrate on raising Franklin, leaving Ben in charge of the group. To replace them, Ben recruited his friend Ms. Marvel (Sharon Ventura) and Crystal (who had already served as Sue's substitute during and after Sue's first pregnancy); however, Reed and Sue's retirement was short-lived. After teaming with several Avengers to rescue a captured Franklin during a demonic invasion, Reed and Sue reluctantly agreed to join the Avengers, who were critically short-handed at the time. But Reed was too accustomed to leadership himself to serve smoothly under Captain America for long, so Reed and Sue amicably stepped down from active Avengers membership after only a few missions with the team. They later re-signed their Avengers membership altogether after rejoining the Fantastic Four. They remained friends and allies to the Avengers, though.

When Reed and Doom seemingly died as a result of their conflict with the alien Hunger, they were actually spirited away by the space-time-warping Hyperstorm, mad son of an alternate-future Franklin Richards. Hyperstorm kept Doom as a tortured captive and trapped Reed in the distant past for months, during which time the world believed both Reed and Doom to be dead. In Reed's absence, Sue took over leadership of the Fantastic Four and served capably in the role, recruiting Ant-Man as the team's new scientist. However, she refused to believe Reed was truly dead, and she rebuffed romantic advances from Namor. Reed was eventually rescued.

The entire Fantastic Four appeared to die in battle with the psychic monster Onslaught. Instead they (and the Avengers) found them-selves on Counter-Earth, in a pocket universe Franklin had created to save them. In a sense, they had been reborn and had to start their lives over. Once the heroes on Counter-Earth realized what had happened, they returned to their original homes.

An even more surprising resurrection unfolded during the team's reality-warping conflict with the cosmic being Abraxas when Franklin revealed he had used his powers to rescue Sue's seemingly stillborn second child years earlier, and that this child had been raised in an alternate future to become the Marvel Girl (Valeria Von Doom) who was now an ally of the present-day Fantastic Four. As a side-effect of Abraxas's defeat, Marvel Girl was restored to her original state, as an unborn child in Sue's womb. This time, Sue's pregnancy resulted in the birth of a healthy baby girl, christened Valeria in memory of Doctor Doom's first love. (Doom had insisted on naming the child in exchange for assisting with the difficult birth.) Later, Doom would exploit his special bond with the child to employ her as a mystical familiar, using sorcery to mount one of his most ruthless and terrifying attacks on the Fantastic Four ever.

In the end, Doom was taken by his own demonic benefactors, but not before he hideously disfigured Reed's face as a petty parting gesture. Physically and emotionally scarred, Reed led the Fantastic Four into Doom's now-leaderless Latveria, where he worked obsessively to dismantle Doom's regime, neutralize his arsenal, erase Doom's legacy and create a better state, becoming increasingly tyrannical himself in the process and ignoring threats of international criminal charges from the United Nations. At the same time, unknown even to his teammates, Reed was secretly plotting to retrieve Doom from Hell and place him in a specially prepared other-dimensional prison from which he could never escape; but this transfer was unwittingly interrupted by the rest of the Fantastic Four, allowing Doom to escape long enough to kill the Thing.

Devastated, the remaining Fantastic Four returned to America, where their standing with the authorities and their reputation with the general public had taken a terrible beating due to the Latverian controversy. The Fantastic Four broke up, Reed and Sue split up, and Reed was even forced to sign over most of his patents to the government as part of a deal to escape prosecution. However, Reed was certain that Ben could be resurrected. He convinced Sue and Johnny to join him in this quest, which ultimately led them to the gates of Heaven itself using a modified model of Doom's old afterlife machine. Persuaded it was not yet his time, Ben agreed to return to the land of the living with his friends-and the Creators allowed it, even healing Reed's facial scars as a parting gift. With the Fantastic Four back together, Reed led them in rebuilding their reputations and their finances. For a time, he also steered the team into taking on more conventional civilian occupations as life experience; but his chief goals continued to be raising a family, protecting humanity and seeking knowledge in all corners of the universe and beyond.

During the Civil War, Reed Richards was one of the leading figures, along with Iron Man, on the side favoring the Superhuman Registration Act. Reed's true motive for supporting the registration act was due to his development of a working version of Isaac Asimov's (fictional) Psychohistory concept. His application of this science indicated to him that billions would die in escalating conflicts without the presence of the act. He speculated that this would lead to conflict with his wife, which came true when a clone of Thor, created by him and Iron Man, lost control, killed Goliath and nearly killed all the rest of the Secret Avengers as well until Sue stepped in and saved them.

Soon after, Sue left Reed, along with Johnny, to join the Secret Avengers in hopes that it would drive Reed to end the conflict quickly. In the final battle of the war, Reed was shot by Taskmaster as he was saving Invisible Woman's life. He survived, however, and Sue returned to him in the aftermath of the battle, having been granted amnesty. With their marriage in jeopardy, Reed and Sue agreed to “take a break” from the Fantastic Four to focus on each other. While away on a second honeymoon Reed asked The Black Panther and Storm to take their places on the team.

Reed and Sue reunited with the Four when the Hulk returned to Earth seeking revenge on the Illuminati. Reed was defeated and thrown into Madison Square Gar-den, which had been turned into a gladiatorial arena by the Hulk. Hulk implanted the Illuminati members with obedience discs and forced them to fight each other. However the Hulk spared them from being forced to kill each other, deciding that he had shown them and that he had proved his point to the world. They survived the encounter by Hulk's mercy and the timely intervention of the Sentry, who weakened Hulk enough for Stark to use prototype defense satellites to ne-gate the Hulk's powers.

Mister Fantastic was at the Illuminati's meeting discussing the threat of the Skrulls when the Black Bolt with them was revealed to be a Skrull in disguise.

Mister Fantastic and Hank Pym autopsy the body of the Skrull who impersonated Elektra (with Reed pretending to be seeing the corpse for the first time, thus keeping the secret of the Illuminati). After completing the dissection, Reed claimed to have discovered the secret of how the Skrulls have been able to conceal their identities. Before he could elaborate, "Hank Pym" revealed himself to be a Skrull and shot Richards with a weapon that violently left his elastic body in a state of chaotic disarray.

A conscious but still mostly shapeless Reed Richards was later forcibly stretched in all directions to cover the floor of a medium-sized arena aboard a Skrull ship, with all of the seats filled by Skrull onlookers. He was freed by Abigail Brand, and then traveled with her to the Savage Land and used a device to reveal all the Skrull invaders present. After helping the Avengers to defeat the impostors and return to New York, Reed aided the heroes and villains of Earth in their battle against the Skrulls.

Reed created a device called The Bridge to explore alternate realities. Meanwhile, Johnny, Sue, and Ben fought off the agents of H.A.M.M.E.R. Reed's machine sent Johnny, Ben and Sue to a different reality where a superhero Civil War was happening sometime in the Hyborian Age. Reed continued to study parallel worlds where the Civil War ended differently to find the reason his reality had become the way it was while Ben, Sue, and Johnny traveled throughout col-lapsed space-time. When Reed shut down the Bridge and the others returned, Sue told Reed to destroy The Bridge. He did so, but then secretly put it back together, and met beings from another reality who told him how he could fix things.

After the Human Torch sacrificed himself to save the Baxter Building from the Annihilus's Annihilation Wave, the Fantastic Four disband-ed. The Future Foundation started acting in its place.

Due the presence of Reed Richards of alternate universes, Mr. Fantastic made an alliance with many villains such as Mad Thinker, AIM, Wizard, Diablo and High Evolutionary to plan how to stop them. Then they lead the battle to High Evolutionary's city where one of the Richards escaped with Doctor Doom and the others two were captured by the Kree army. After returning to Baxter Building, Richards reunited other heroes to fight the Inhumans in Attilan, but at the time they were preparing to go at the rooftop, a Kree invasion started. Reed used Iron Man's armor and Sue's power to create a force field around Manhattan, at the same time the Cult of the Negative Zone opened the portal to the Negative Zone after Spider-Man failed at stop them, the portal revealed a living Johnny Storm with a enslaved Annihilus.

Then Johnny gathered the team drawing with fire the symbolical "4" at the sky above the Baxter Building. Reed, Sue, Ben and Peter boarded one of the Annihilation Wave's ships controlled by Johnny, who used the rest of the ships to battle the Kree army until the Inhumans asked to finish them by their own hand. Meanwhile the other heroes on Earth where dealing with the scraps of the battle which could damage the Earth, Reed and Sue summons Galactus, who destroys completely the Kree army. That moment, the Mad Celestials appeared to destroy this universe. Although the team tried to use the Hub (a weapon of mass destruction created by the Reeds), they couldn't defeat the Mad Celestials. Then, a future version of Franklin and Valeria appeared as part of Nathaniel Richards's plan. The Future Franklin used his power to heal Galactus and destroy the Mad Celestials, saving the day. Later, the Baxter Building was easily rebuilt, Mr. Fantastic showed a new secondary headquarters called Foundation and new costumes were given to the members of the Future Foundation, as part of the reformation of the Fantastic Four.

After finding out that during one of their explorations he developed a sickness which caused the cells of his body to start degenerating, Reed decided to disguise a travel through time and space to find a cure as a family excursion.

They discovered their sickness had been caused by an overload of their powers, as the abilities of an alternate reality version of themselves had them stripped from them when trying to stop Doctor Doom, who had conquered their Earth. After helping their depowered counter-parts from that alternate universe defeat Doom the Annihilating Conqueror, the Fantastic Four re-stabilized their powers and returned home.

The Fantastic Four were systematically attacked by the mysterious Quiet Man, a figure who revealed that he had been behind many of the villain attacks the FF have faced over the years, now stepping for-ward to take a more active role as he shut down Johnny's powers, framed the Thing for murder, had Reed and Sue Richards declared unfit guardians for their children, and then abducted Reed with the intention of framing him for a series of attacks committed by the heroes created in Franklin's pocket uni-verse. However, Reed was able to defeat the Quiet Man's plan to pro-claim himself the hero who defeated Reed's 'attack' on the world when he realized that the Psycho-Man -- one of the Quiet Man's allies -- in-tended to betray him, forcing Reed and the Quiet Man to work together to deactivate the Psycho-Man's equipment.

Reed had returned to form part of the Illuminati with the presence of a new threat: the Incursions, events in which universes collided with their respective planet Earths as the focal point, and the only way to prevent the death of one's own Earth was to destroy the colliding one, for which the Illuminati had to prepare themselves to do "the unthinkable," destroy an innocent planet.

Soon after being forced to confront a colliding Earth inhabited by noble heroes, an event after which none of the Illuminati were willing to destroy that Earth, Namor decided to take matters to his hands and do it.

After Captain America discovered the Illuminati's activities regarding the possible destruction of worlds, he decided that the Illuminati's actions shouldn't be tolerated, and disposed the Avengers to hunt them down.

While on the run, the Illuminati at-tempted to find numerous times a way to solve the problem of Incursions, from trying to create a new Earth with a Cosmic Cube and then with Franklin Richards' powers, to asking for help to the Celestials. However, all of their plans failed. After setting a trap to Steve Rogers and his forces, both parties man-aged to reach a middle ground and started working together.

Reed and the Future Foundation began working on vessels capable of surviving the imminent destruction of the Multiverse. When the final incursion took place between Earth-616 and Earth-1610, Mister Fantastic gathered in the life raft every person he could and deployed its measures. When the vessel approached the central point of the incursion, it suffered a hull breach that led to the death of Reed's family.

The life raft reached its destination, whatever thing which was left of the Multiverse, namely Battleworld, a patchwork planet composed of the remnants of different realities, created by Doctor Doom, who had seized the power of the Beyonders as his own. The raft was found five years after Battleworld's creation by Stephen Strange, the sheriff of this planet and right hand to Doom, who kept it hidden in his sanctuary, the Isle of Agamotto, fearing something of great consequence was inside it, but not knowing it was the bodies in stasis of the few other survivors of Earth-616.

With the public discovery of another similar vessel, which was revealed to contain the survivors of Earth-1610, the Maker and the Cabal, Strange investigated the one he had found, and freed Mr. Fantastic and the other survivors. After learning about Battleworld, Reed immediately opposed the idea of such a man as Doom governing everything that was left of reality, and began working together with the Maker, Reed's own counterpart from Earth-1610, to bring him down.

When discord arose in Battleworld as a consequence of the Cabal's meddling, Mr. Fantastic and the Maker infiltrated Doom's castle in Doomstadt while the God Emperor was dealing with the marching forces that opposed him. Mr. Fantastic and the Maker came across an alternate version of Sue Storm who was married to Doom and had his children, realizing that Doom had basically stolen his life. The two Reeds soon came across the Molecule Man, the source of Doom's power.

After discovering Richards' meddling, Doom confronted him, but as he wished to make the fight fair, the Molecule Man reduced his powers. During a furious battle, Doom accused Richards of believing he could've done better had he had Doom's power, and when Reed conceded he did, so did Doom. On the grounds that both agreed, Molecule Man gave his power to Reed, destroying Battleworld in the process. With the power of a god in his hands, Reed rebuilt Earth-616, bringing all of its inhabitants back with no memories of what had occurred. Mr. Fantastic also brought his family back from the dead, and together with their help, began to reconstruct the entire Multiverse. Since he came to terms with the fact that Victor would eternally re-sent him, Reed decided to alter his memories so he believed he was dead, in hopes that Victor would walk a fairer path if he no longer pursued ultimate power and believed his greatest rival was gone. Before returning Doom to Earth-616, Reed also healed his scars. Hoping they could keep Victor in check, Reed also left behind John-ny and Ben on their native universe. Because of this, to the inhabitants of Reed's native universe, it seemed like he and those accompanying him in his journey of reconstruction had perished.

Years following the Future Foundation's multiversal adventures, a mysterious being called the Griever at the End of All Things who repudiated the Future Foundation's mission of creating new universes con-fronted the team as soon as Franklin was depleted of his ability to create entirely new realities. She caused the collapse of the hundreds of universes charted by the Future Foundation, forcing the team to make a final stand. The Fantastic Four were reunited when Mister Fantastic tricked the Griever into giving them the chance to summon the remaining members of the Fantastic Four for backup. In addition to teleporting Ben and Johnny, Reed also brought every superhero who had been part of the team at one point in order to defeat the new foe.

HISTORY
In the 6th Century, Modred was an apprentice magician under Gervasse and betrothed to Gervasse's daughter Janice. Modred was asked to become an apprentice by Merlin. However, after hearing tales of madness, he declined. Thinking the power of the Darkhold could oppose the mad wizard, he went to the tower to claim it. He battled the Other until Janice came in. Rather than have her become corrupted, Modred gave himself up. Gervasse sealed Modred in a crypt hoping that future generations might be able to help him.

Modred was resurrected in modern times by Janet Lyton and Grant Whittaker. He was startled by the changes to the world but managed to protect the couple when the Other came to claim him.

Since then, he was fallen in and out of Chthon's control and encountered a great many heroes and villains. When Chthon's possession takes over, Modred is a very dangerous individual. One can never tell when he is going to change, as the Scarlet Witch found out as he helped her reach Wundagore to learn about her past, then attempt-ed to offer her to Chthon.

When Modred is in control of him-self, he will help others fight evil although his actions usually have his own self-interests at heart. For example, he helped Puck against the Brass Bishop thinking that he could find a method to retrieve his soul and end his possession. He also briefly assisted Spider-Woman (Jessica Drew).

He also has attacked Captain Britain due to his association with Merlin. He seemed unaware that Brian served the true Merlyn and not the impostor Merlin he knew in the past.

When the N'Garai came to Perfection, Modred brought the Darkhold Redeemers and was able to coerce a nearby Sabretooth to help. While Creed and the other Darkhold Redeemers battled the creatures, Modred examined the cairn. Thinking that Chthon might be on the other side, he saved a woman, then tossed her through the portal. The resulting screams convinced Modred that he should not try to use it. Sabretooth left unsure what had happened but pleased that he was able to slaughter a number of the N'Garai. The other Redeemers realized that Modred had simply used them for his own goals rather than trying to save the townspeople.

Modred will seek revenge against anyone he feels has wronged him. This includes an almost irrational hatred of Doctor Strange when he became involved with the Darkhold Redeemers. Modred felt that dealing with the Darkhold was his business alone.

Modred briefly taught Jinx and also helped Kyllian.

BACKGROUND
Real Name: Michael Morbius
Occupation: Nobel Prize winning Biochemist, criminal scientist
Legal Status: Citizen of Greece with a criminal record
Identity: Public
Other Known Aliases: Dr Morgan Michaels
Place of Birth: Greece
Marital Status: Single
Known Relatives: Makarioa Morbius (father); Vic Slaughter (vampiric progeny)
Base of Operations: mobile
Past Group Affiliations: A.R.M.O.R.; formerly Midnight Sons, Legion of Monsters, Horizon Labs, The Nine
Present Group Affiliation:

KNOWN POWERS:
Pseudo-Vampirism: Morbius has been transformed into a being simi-lar to a vampire and, as a result, possesses a number of superhuman abilities similar to those possessed by true vampires.
  • Flight: Pr/4 air speed. Morbius can attain speeds of about 35 miles an hour
  • Claws & Fangs: Rm/30 Edged Damage. Like true vampires, Morbius possesses retractable claws and fangs.
  • Regeneration: Am/50; Morbius possesses an accelerated healing factor that enables him to rapidly regenerate damaged bodily tissues much faster and more extensively than a normal human.
  • Heightened Senses: Morbius' senses of sight and smell are enhanced to levels well beyond that of normal humans.
    • Nightvision: Ex/20
    • Heightened Hearing & Smell: Rm/30
Lillian Attributes: shortly after he reverted to his vampiric condition, Morbius ingested some blood from a Lillian named Fang. This was helpful in 2 ways. First he worked the blood into a serum that enabled him to control his hunger for blood. Secondly it altered him and granted him further powers.
  • Resistance – aging: Unearthly (100)
  • Liquidization: Ex/20; Morbius gained the ability to liquidize his body, moving through small spaces and stretching his limbs as needed.
  • Self-revival: In/40
  • Hypnotic Gaze: Ex/20; Morbius gained the ability to hypnotize others if they look directly into his eyes long enough.
Vulnerabilities:
  • Pseudo-Vampirism: He is required to once a day make a Psyche Feat or be forced to feed on human blood. He must make a Psyche FEAT every 2 days he has gone without blood. The difficulty increases one level per attempt. Unfortunately, stored blood will not suffice as the anti-coagulants give the blood a stale taste. Only fresh blood will work.
  • Unless he took steps to avoid it his victims had a 01-05% chance of becoming pseudo-vampires themselves.
  • Lillian Self: prolonged use of the Lillian derived serum caused him to develop a separate personality, which eventually broke from his form into a separate being. While it was still apart of him, it could exert control over their shared body with Ex/20 ability.
TALENTS: Bio-chemistry

CONTACTS: She-Hulk; Midnight Sons; Hannibal King; Blade

HISTORY:
Dr. Michael Morbius was a brilliant scientist born in Greece who became a Nobel Prize winning biochemist. He suffered from a debilitating blood disease and developed an experimental treatment involving vampire bats and electroshocks. Its side effects turned him into a pseudo-vampire who needed to consume blood in order to survive, and gained typical vampire characteristics such as an aversion to sunlight, and the powers of flight, enhanced strength, speed, and healing (a healing factor). His overall appearance changed as well: he gained fangs, his nose flattened to appear more bat-like, and his skin became extremely pale. Additionally, the victims of his bite would turn into living vampires themselves. When he first experienced the change, he killed the assistant who had helped him develop the treatment.

Morbius traveled to the United States by ship, and in his blood thirst slaughtered the crew. He tried to kill himself but failed and took a room at a beach house where he encountered Spider-Man who was, at the time, trying to reverse the process that had given him six arms. Morbius attacked Spider-Man, but their battle was interrupted by Dr. Connors who trans-formed into the Lizard.

Morbius escaped, but not before biting Connors (which partially returned him to normal). Spider-Man and Connors realized that Morbius' blood could be a cure for both of them and decided to help each other. They tracked him down and after another battle extracted some of his blood, causing Connors to remain in his human state and Spider-Man to lose his additional arms.

Morbius was washed ashore and found by Jefferson and Jacob Bolt, on whom he tried to feed after being revived (he turned Jefferson into a vampire). Meanwhile, Morbius' fiancé Martine Bancroft tried contacting the Fantastic Four to help Morbius. The Human Torch sought out Morbius' former colleague, Hans Jorgenson, and joined forces with Spiderman during another battle with Morbius. During the fight, Morbius accidentally killed Jefferson Bolt and fled.

When news of Jorgenson's supposed kidnapping by Spider-Man reached Professor X (an old colleague of Jorgenson), he sent the X-Men to track down Spider-Man. When he discovered that Morbius was truly to blame, he sent the mutants to capture him instead. After a lengthy battle, the X-Men managed to defeat Morbius and rescue Jorgenson. Jorgenson was able to cure Spider-Man, who thanked the X-Men before leaving them to deal with Dr. Morbius.

Morbius saved Amanda Saint from the Demon-Fire cult and helped her in the search for her parents.

Michael Morbius and Martine Bancroft battled Reverend Daemond and encountered the Caretakers of Arcturus. He visited the Land With-in, home of the Cat People. Battling their greatest warrior, Balkatar, Balkatar and Morbius worked together to take down Daemond. He was hunted by Blade the vampire slayer until Blade became aware of his plight, the two cooperate to battle Daemond. Daemond creates Tara, a Psychic vampire. Morbius is able to kill Daemond and Tara. He then encountered Simon Stroud, a CIA agent tasked with hunting him. Together, they battled the Helleyes. Morbius, Martine, and Stroud later battled vampires at Mason Manor.

Morbius joined the team Legion of Monsters, who united by chance to investigate the appearance of the Starseed. Though Starseed was a benevolent entity, both the Werewolf and Morbius, overcome by their monstrous hungers, attacked it. Ghost Rider and Man-Thing at-tempted to intervene, but Starseed was unable to overcome his fear of Man-Thing and suffered severe burns at his touch. The dying Star-seed attempted to cure the Legion of their monstrous forms but was too weak and died. Morbius visited his old scientist friend Ronson Slade in hope for a cure to his disease. Ronson, however had become a werewolf and Morbius was forced to kill him.

After Morbius and the Thing battled the Living Eraser from Dimension Z, Morbius used the Living Eraser's dimensional transportation devices to return to Earth.

The Empathoid who wished to learn how it felt to be a vampire used Morbius to attack Spider-Man, but Morbius resisted. Spider-Man managed to knock out Morbius, causing the Empathoid to leave his body and possess Spider-Man to battle Morbius once more. He led him into a football stadium where the emotions of all the sports fans overwhelmed the Empathoid, causing it to leave Spider-Man's body and pass out. Spider-Man allowed Morbius to depart unharmed.

Driven mad by his bloodlust, Morbius battled Spider-Man again, but was restored to his human form when he hit by a freak bolt of lightning. He remained human for some years, assisting both Spider-Woman and the West Coast Avengers at various times, but his vampiric condition eventually re-turned.

Morbius was registered under the SRA. He was sent by S.H.I.E.L.D. to convince Blade to register.

Michael worked with A.R.M.O.R., an organization tasked with keeping an eye on extra-dimensional activity on the planet. As such, when cross-over with a zombie infected universe occurred in Man-Thing's swamp, Command, was dispatched to investigate. However, it was revealed that Morbius had been incapacitated and replaced within the organization by a zombified, extra-dimensional version of himself. How long this had been the case was not clear. A member of A.R.M.O.R came in to check on the zombie Morbius and found the real Morbius but was then bitten by the zombie Morbius (and incited a zombie plague). When Morbius was able to move again, he snuck behind his zombie counterpart and drove a stake through his heart. This turned him into ashes.

After the zombie plague was taken care of, it was discovered that the Zombie Simon Garth and the head of Deadpool's zombie counterpart escaped. Morbius gathered the Midnight Sons to search for Deadpool and Simon Garth and disposed of anything infected with the zombie plague.

While staying in Monster Metropolis, the remaining pieces of a dead Frank Castle were brought by the sewage system. Morbius and the Legion of Monsters revived him into a Frankenstein's Monster shape. They needed him to fight against Hunter of Monster Special Force who killed monsters for "not being of God."

Morbius was working on a cure for the zombie virus but was unable to find it, as the virus's genetic code was too complicated to decipher. Morbius found a Planestorm has opened a gateway to alternate realities. Each of them had a different zombie virus, and the only way to decipher his home realities' virus was to compare it with other zombie viruses. Morbius took some equipment from A.R.M.O.R and sent Howard the Duck and Ma-chine Man to the alternate realities to bring him a sample of each virus. Sometime later, the director of A.R.M.O.R Charles Little Sky discovered Morbius' plans and the missing A.R.M.O.R tech and put him under arrest.

Later, he secretly joined Horizon Labs with the help of his friend Max Modell (who was in charge of the lab). He took the identity of Number Six and, in a hazmat suit to protect his true identity, assisted Mr. Fantastic in preparing the cure to the spider-powers virus. When Peter Parker tried to investigate the identity of "Number Six," he accidentally provoked Morbius, who had been using the cure to try to develop a basis for a cure for his own condition, into a frenzy. Morbius was driven to leave when it was revealed that he had been working with the The Lizard. He had been trying to find a cure for both of their conditions. He used DNA samples from the corpse of Doc Connors' son (Billy) to create a cure that would restore the Lizard to human form, but he failed to recognize that the Lizard had fully destroyed Doc Connors' human persona. They left the Lizard alone in Morbius' lab, allowing the Lizard to release blood into the laboratory's air vents to provoke the injured Morbius into attacking the other scientists. Morbius fled the laboratory with Spider-Man following. Morbius was captured by Spider-Man and locked up in a cell in the Raft.

When Peter Parker mind was transferred into Doctor Octopus' dying body, he organized a group of prisoners at the Raft to capture Spider-Man (who now contain Doc Ocks mind). During the break out, Morbius offered his help but was refused; he chose to work with the Lizard instead. The cells turned off and Morbius escaped from the Raft.

Morbius lives in the crime filled street in Brownsville where he meets a street thug named Noah St. Germain. The two end up having a fight in the subway, which leaves Morbius mortally wounded with a gunshot wound in the chest (even after saving St. Germain's life from an oncoming train). Morbius kills Noah St. Germain and his gang. After killing the Godfather of Brownsville, and incites a gang war against The Rose (Phillip Hayes). After the Battle of Brownsville, he escapes to Manhattan, to Horizon Labs, to finally cure his vampirism. Morbius works with the new superior Spider-Man. Morbius found out The Rose has an Ultimate Nullifier in Brownsville and teams up with the Legion of Monsters. Morbius kills the Rose.

Morbius took up residence in a warehouse in Brownsville. He encountered the Melter and some thugs stealing from a nearby building. After defeating them, he went back to his lair and continued his attempts at finding a cure for his state.

Unfortunately, due to his rashness and in-thorough testing he began to mutate at a rapid rate. His thirst increased geometrically with the demands of his newly mutated form.

After several inadvertent deaths caused by his new blood frenzy, he was captured by the mutants Vampry, Jubilee, and Nightrider from Krakoa. He was brought back to the facilities on Krakoa where Henry McCoy worked on reversing his mutation.

With the assistance of the omega level bio-kinetic, Elixir, Beast was able to reverse the most recent mutation, but it left Michael on the verge of death. A transfusion of blood from Ian Grey, the mutant Vampry, who possessed a stable version of the same virus brought Michael back and repaired his highly mutated virus.

HISTORY
Morgan Le Fay is the daughter of Duke Gorlois of Tintagil and his wife, lngraine. Morgan is half-human and half-faerie, which means that lngraine must have been at least part faerie. The faerie are a humanoid race with powerful magical abilities, who come from an extradimensional world that borders the countries of Britain and Ireland. Morgan le Fay is also the half-sister of King Arthur Pendragon.

Morgan's magical abilities didn't surface until she reached puberty. Morgan then seduced Merlin and tricked him into teaching her the arts of sorcery. After she had mastered the magicks of the ancient Celtic religion, she became one of Merlin and Arthur’s most dangerous enemies.

Morgan married a King Uriens of Gorre , a section of Britain, and they had a son, Sir Ewain. During the time of Camelot, Morgan often at-tacked Arthur and his knights. She hated Arthur because she wished to become the ruler of Britain herself, and she despised him for encouraging the Christian religion over the ancient Celtic religion she practiced. She also hated Arthur because he was the offspring of an il licit union between her mother and Uther Pendragon.

In between her battles with Arthur and Merlin, Morgan got her hands on the Darkhold. This book is the most powerful book of evil magicks on the Earth, and was written by the ancient demon Chthon. Morgan created a cult of occult students, called the Cult of Darkholders, and tried to raise Chthon and bind him to her will. The demon was successfully summoned at Mount Wundagore in central Europe, but Chthon was too powerful for her to control. She and the cultists imprisoned Chthon beneath Mount Wundagore , where he still remains.

Magnus, Morgan's lover and apprentice, had been disgusted with the evil he saw in Morgan when she gained control of the Darkhold. About a year after Chthon had been successfully summoned, Magnus stole the Darkhold and placed it in a tower on the Isle of Wight. The tower was protected with spells so that no evil person could enter. Morgan hunted down Magnus and killed his physical body while his astral self was travelling outside of his body.

Morgan tried to kill Arthur and destroy Camelot many times, but she was always stopped by Merlin, King Arthur, the original Black Knight and the other Knights of the Round Table. At one point, Morgan was defeated by the combined might of her enemies, and Merlin imprisoned her physical body in her castle. She could still cause trouble with her spells and followers, and travel to other dimensions astrally, but if she physically left her castle her body would die.

Morgan often sent her astral self into the future, hoping to regain the Darkhold in the Twentieth Century. She failed every time, mostly due to the intervention of Magnus. Magnus had been able to survive on the astral plane, and he could possess the bodies of people on Earth.

Morgan often tried to gain control of Jessica Drew, the original Spider Woman. Jessica had spent many years of her life in suspended animation on Mount Wundagore . Morgan believed that Jessica had absorbed some of Chthon's powers, and she hoped to gain that power for herself.

Finally, with the aid of Magnus, Spider-Woman’s spirit traveled back in time and attacked Morgan in her castle. During the fight, Morgan was knocked through a window and her body was instantly destroyed, due to Merlin's spell of imprisonment. Unfortunately, Morgan's astral self somehow survived and she cast a spell that stopped Jessica's spirit from returning to her own body.

It is not known if the destruction of Morgan's body happened before or after the fall of Camelot. It is rumored that Morgan was one of the people who transported the mortally wounded Arthur to the extra-dimensional land called Otherworld.

Morgan's astral form survived in the astral plane, just as Magnus' had for centuries. Recently, Morgan's spirit tried to enter the shell of Spider-Woman’s body. Doctor Strange, the Avengers and the Shroud entered the astral plane and battled Morgan there. Morgan formed a gigantic stone body out of the substance of the astral plane, but the heroes were able to destroy it. Magnus sacrificed his astral existence so that Spider-Woman’s spirit could return to her body. Morgan's stone body was smashed, and Doctor Strange cast a spell to prevent her spirit from leaving the pieces. She somehow freed herself, and she then tried to take possession of Lisa Russell, a young woman who had been cursed by the Darkhold in the past.

In modern times, Morgan's astral form battled the Avengers. She briefly altered the world to her own twisted version with the team serving as her Queen's Vengeance.

Doctor Doom traveled back in time to ask for her help in defeating the Mighty Avengers. During his many visits, they became lovers. She taught him magic but asked for a gift from the future. Doom claimed he couldn't, as it would cause disruption to the timeline. However, Doom did not consider their affair disruptive, as it was contained. Doom asked Morgan to tutor him further in the dark arts, including summoning an army of demons he used successfully to take down the Mighty Avengers.

Morgan traveled into the future with an army of demons to avenge Doom's betrayal. At first, she at-tempted to kill Doom when he was a child, but then decided to go ahead several decades, so that Doom would fully know why she was going to kill him, and engaged Doom in Latveria. When the Dark Avengers arrived to rescue Doom, the Sentry tore off her head. She subsequently violently re-appeared in his place and took control over the new Spider-Man (Mac Gargan), who attacked Ares. She was killed again by the new Hawkeye (Bullseye), but she reappeared again. Morgan turned Ares into stone, while Doom and Iron Patriot traveled back in time to kill her in her own time. There, Doom chanted a spell of a language that even she possessed no knowledge of to forcibly send the sorceress into her own enchanted cauldron, despite her screams and pleas. Though Morgan lived, she was sent to 1,000,000 BC where she ran from a tribe of cavemen fighting a T-Rex. Doom magically restored Latveria, and the revived Dark Avengers headed back to America.

After having been freed by her daughter Caroline le Fay from her own magic cauldron that Doom trapped her in, Morgan le Fay took over a City of the Dead underneath Velletri, Italy, a mystical necropolis of which there are many below European cities. From here she launched a massive attack with armies of the dead all over Europe.

The Avengers and the Euroforce joined forces to take her down, but they were easily overpowered by the hordes of the dead. Sebastian Druid tried to aid the heroes, but he was killed by le Fay shortly after arriving at the city. However, killing Druid worked out against Morgan's plans. He became a ghost of the city which, being one of them, allowed his magic to work, pulling back the armies back to their respective necropolises, severely weakening le Fay. The Avengers and the Euroforce proceeded to beat her up, forcing her to retreat.

After the final incursion destroyed the Earth, Morgan le Fay was saved by God Emperor Doom as part of Weirdworld, one of the domains on Battleworld, a land that contained sorcery and strange, perverted science from many alternate reality magical realms. She became the baroness of the realm as Witch Queen le Fay. After Arkon the Magnificent stole from her on multiple occasions, she dispatched Skull the Slayer to kill him. Skull and Arkon were then recruited by the Swamp Queen to start a war against the Witch Queen le Fay.

A fierce battle ensued between the Swamp Queen's and le Fay's forces for the fate of Weirdworld; however, neither of them emerged victorious as Battleworld collapsed after God Emperor Doom was defeated during the Secret Wars. Weirdworld then became part of le Fay's homeworld in her home universe, where it existed in the Bermuda Triangle. Later, a Boeing 747 crashed into it. One of the plane's occupants was Becca the Earthgirl, whom Arkon rescued along with numerous other survivors before he then resumed his journey to find Polemachus.

Becca then encountered Ogeode, who proclaimed that he had caused the plane crash with an artifact known as the Wuxian Seed. Ogeode was promptly killed by Goleta the Wizardslayer. His death was witnessed by Warg, who notified the Witch Queen le Fay that the Wuxian Seed had fallen into Becca's possession.

HISTORY
Naga, a member of the Homo mermanus species, was born five hundred years ago in Lemuria, a submarine continent in the Pacific Ocean. Through some means, Naga became the emperor of Lemuria and a worshiper of serpent god Set, who considered Naga a valuable servant. The Lemurians discovered Set's long-lost Serpent Crown and Set convinced Naga to hold the Crown. Naga ordered one of his lackeys to get the crown from the skeletal hands of its previous owners, but the lackey died when trying. However, Naga could hold the crown himself and wear it on his head. Apparently, Set wanted Naga to conquer the world in his name. As a mark, Set provided Naga with reptilian features to make him similar to Set himself.

Set, satisfied with Naga, explained to him how to grease the crown with some fish oils to stop his aging - however, this effect could not last if the Crown was not on Naga's head. Thus, Naga ruled despotically for centuries with the Crown, although, in time, his features became more and more reptilian. Even Naga's subjects, the Lemurians, began to share this features. During his time as a despot, he resorted to torture, murder and prison of any subject he could consider his enemy. He was mad even before his immortality, and this made it worse.

Many rebellions against Naga appeared, but he used his powers to annihilate them. A group of telepathic young Lemurians formed a dissident movement and, under the leadership of Piscastos, stole the Serpent Crown while Naga was sleeping. They ran away and used a special serum to allow them breath air. They found a small city in the Antarctica and settled there; they would be known as the Ancients.

Without the Crown, Naga began to grow old. He formed a group of warriors, The Searchers, and sent them after the Crown, but they failed for decades.

Meanwhile, the High Priestess of Set and half-Lemurian mutant Llyra manipulated senile Naga to arrange her a marriage to Naga's oldest surviving son, Prince Merro, wanting to became empress of Lemuria herself.

Finally, a Searcher named Karthon found the Serpent Crown in the hands of Prince Namor of Atlantis. Karthon took both the Crown and Namor to Lemuria. Naga took the crown again, expecting to recover his youth, but that did not happen: He stop aging, but he did not became younger. He also recovered his other powers. To break Namor's will, Naga killed a Lemurian woman and used an illusion so that Namor would believe that the corpse was that of his lover, Dorma.

Karthon respected Namor as a foe, and begged Naga for mercy in the name of his faithful Searchers. However, Naga destroyed the Searchers (except for Karthon) in a simple show of power, and threw Namor to a Colosseum to fight for his life while he and his people watched for fun. Namor survived the fights and Naga offered him a grace: Namor could choose the next beast he would fight. Namor chose "The most dangerous beast of them all: The beast called Naga!". Naga jumped to the Colosseum, opened a rift in the ocean floor and ordered Namor to jump there using his mind control.

But Namor resisted, wanted to avenge Dorma. Naga then showed that the corpse was not Dorma's, and broke the illusion. Karthon recognized the corpse as his sister's and, suddenly mad, betrayed his ruler and stabbed him, saving Namor. Namor placed the Serpent Crown on Naga's corpse, so that Set could only hold a dead's mind. Besides, due to the recently created rift, an earthquake destroyed the colosseum and swallowed Naga and the crown.

Years after Naga's death, human Hugh Jones fell under the influence of the Serpent Crown and conjured the spirit of its previous holders to fight the Scarlet Witch and the Thing. One of these spirits was Naga's.

Years later, Deviant priest Ghaur allied with the new empress of Lemuria, Llyra, to rebuild the Serpent Crown and sacrifice seven super human women, The Brides of Set to bring Set physically to Earth. Ghaur mind-probed the Crown and unwittingly freed Naga's spirit, who wanted to recover the Crown's power. Naga fought Ghaur in a will duel until both of them and Llyra vanished due to Set's power and his fight against different super-heroes. After that, the Brides of Set threw the Crown to a new rift.

Past Group Affiliations: Servant of Magik; formerly Servant of the Goblyn Queen
Present Group Affiliation:

KNOWN POWERS:
Demonic Entity: N’astirh is a denizen of Limbo:
  • Flight: N'astirh flies at Remark-able flying speed (15 areas per turn).
  • Demonic Armor: N'astirh has Incredible (40) protection against physical attacks, and Remarkable (30) protection against energy attacks.
Magic: N'astirh was a Master Sorcerer. Most of his magics involved rituals on a grand scale, such as ones that transformed New York into an Inferno. N’astirh’s ceremonious magics are time-consuming but very powerful (Judge's option as to effects. It is known that he planned to permanently transform the Earth into a demonic netherworld). His other magics included:
  • Monstrous (75) blast 5 area range
  • Monstrous (75) Mind Control, by touch
Techno-organic Virus (formerly): N'astirh was infected by the techno-organic virus of S'ym, who was in turn infected by the Magus. He can convert the DNA structure of victims into additional Health (the amount gained per touch is subject to Judge's discretion). He performs this as FEAT vs. Monstrous intensity. Creatures of organic metals, such as Colossus, are immune to this power.
  • Phasing: In techno-organic form, N’astirh can phase with Amazing (50) rank intensity, typically to allow missiles to pass through him.
  • Computer Link: After being ex-posed to the techno-organic virus, N'astirh had Monstrous powers to control any computer.
LIMITATION:
  • Vulnerable to Iron: As a demon, the touch of iron and steel does +2CS damage against N'astirh.
TALENTS: Occult Lore

CONTACTS: Magik, Goblyn Queen

HISTORY
N'astirh was one of a number of major demons in Limbo, a demonic world originally ruled by Belasco. Like the other major demon sorcerers, N'astirh coveted control of Limbo, and desired to become master of Earth as well. He waited and he watched.

After lllyana became ruler of Limbo, things became tumultuous. Magik did not rule Limbo with the iron fist that demons were used to seeing in their personal rulers; while she was personally intimidating, the Darkchilde spent too much time on Earth to maintain firm control of the dimension.

N'astirh began to gather his demonic agents and scheme grander Schemes than a demon should scheme. Finally, his machination s came to a head. N'astirh attempted to kidnap 13 babies and sacrifice them in a ritual known as Inferno which would have given him control over Limbo and Earth. He made alliances (and broke or twisted them) with Taki of the X-Terminators, S'ym, and Magik; and also dealt with Magneto and Madelyn Pryor, the Goblyn Queen. First, he tried to open a gate way between Earth and Limbo through which his demon horde could travel, using the 13 children’s souls as energy for the pentagram shaped nexus, and manipulating Magik into closing it. He forced Taki to build a computer that would run magic spells as programs, giving him nearly limitless magical power. He manipulated S'ym into infecting him with the Technarch transmode virus, which gave him tremendous power.

The gateway was destroyed when Magik rejected her dark heritage and reverted to her innocent six-year old self, which she had been before her initial entry into Limbo. The magic computer was destroyed by the XTerminators . Eventually, he made an alliance with the Goblyn Queen, becoming her servant (if secretly desiring her power) in a last effort to bring Inferno to life. N'astirh was finally defeated by X-Factor and the X-Men in a fierce battle and seemingly destroyed. Since death is rarely permanent for demons, it remains to be seen whether N'astirh will rise again.

However a demon called N'Astirh later appeared in New X-Men alongside Magik and it is assumed that it is the same demon.

During the Second Coming event, N'Astirh and S'ym cut a deal with Bastion's forces and provided them with a "weaponized ritual" that sent Magik back to Limbo. When the X-Men sent a team to rescue her, S'ym and N'Astirh approached Pixie to make another deal: if Pixie would kill Magik, and take her soulsword to N'Astirh, he would return the missing piece of Pixie's soul and free her from Limbo's darkness for-ever.

CONTACTS: Mandrill, Black Talon, Grim Reaper

HISTORY
Decades ago, Gemma Sinclair was an African-American cleaning lady at Los Alamos National Laboratory. While she was pregnant, an exploding lab experiment bombarded Gemma with radiation, causing her unborn child to mutate. Nekra was born albino-like with vampiric features. Loathed by her parents and community, Nekra ran away into the New Mexico desert to live alone when she was fourteen years old.

She soon encountered another child who had been mutated by the same explosion. Although his parents were white, he had been born dark-skinned and had developed fur and baboon-like features, for which he had named himself Mandrill. For six years they lived by theft and scavenging, until they were attacked by a lynch mob that thought they were monsters. While filled with rage, Nekra discovered she was invulnerable to the mob's attacks. Slaying a few of their persecutors, the two escaped and come to regard each other as if they were siblings.

The two later left to Africa, as part of the Mandrill's ambitious scheme to overthrow multiple nations through Black Spectre, a cult of personality powered by the Mandrill's pheromonal control over women. This effort was thwarted by Shanna the She-Devil. The two eventually es-caped, kidnapping Shanna's father in the process, and eventually killing him.

Their next plot was of similar means, whereby they used the Mandrill's powers to raise a cult of black women to overthrow America. They were eventually defeated on the White House lawn by Daredevil, the Black Widow, and Shanna. Abandoned by Mandrill, Nekra was captured by authorities.

Nekra was held captive and drugged in a S.H.I.E.L.D. hospital, until a subliminal message from Hate-Monger inadvertently gave her the rage necessary to break free. While in the New York sewers, Nekra encountered the Cult of Kali, whom she persuaded that Nekra herself was the reincarnation of Kali. She then moved to the West Coast where she killed and replaced Adrienne Hatros, the reclusive sponsor of an emotion-al research clinic where Nekra hoped to overcome her own dependency upon emotions. This plot was foiled by the first Spider Woman.

Escaping again, Nekra fell in with the voodoo-master the Black Talon as voodoo tutor, and with the Grim Reaper as her lover. When the Grim Reaper died in combat, Nekra was able to briefly reanimate him as a zombie, so lifelike that even the Grim Reaper did not realize he was dead. When Nekra's love became greater than her hate though, the Reaper died again. Nekra took his corpse with her, in hopes of reanimating him again.

Nekra then had run-ins with Spider-Man, Hank Pym, and then Alpha Flight.

Nekra finally managed to re-animate the Grim Reaper again, but this time there was a caveat: he had to kill one person every 24 hours in order to stay 'alive.' The Reaper then prompt-ly chose Nekra as his first victim and killed her.

Sensing the potential threat of Doctor Druid, Daimon Hellstrom used his magics to reanimate Nekra, and sent her to investigate him. First she seduced Dr. Druid, then shot him in the forehead, killing him.

Nekra was donating genetic material to an M.G.H ring that had sprung up in L.A. after the death of The Pride. She was defeated by Ricochet, Darkhawk, and the third Spider-Woman. She later returned at the Loners' meeting place to get her revenge on them. Nekra easily battled and defeated all of the Loners and preceded to strangle Mickey, when she was struck from behind by a mysterious lady named "Namie".

During the riots in San Francisco, Nekra was seen fighting alongside Frenzy. She was taken out with a sucker punch energy blast by Ms. Marvel of the Dark Avengers.

When the mutants fought the Avengers on Utopia, Nekra, Frenzy, and Bling! took down Ms. Marvel.

Nekra reunited with the Grim Reaper as a member of the Lethal Legion as part of a failed scheme against Nor-man Osborn.

Nekra assisted a resurrected Grim Reaper in fighting the Dead Avengers. She was killed with the Grim Reaper when Vision self-destructed.

The Night Shift

Post by Sidious »

The Night Shift

Group Background:
Night Shift is a group of supernaturally oriented villains organized by the Shroud. The Shroud's true purpose for the group is to combat evil that occurs during the night hours, sleazy underworld crime figures in particular. (Most superheroes and their foes are active during the day.) Because of their after-hours schedule, the Shroud's group has become known as "the Night Shift.”

The group consists of an ever growing and changing roster. The Shroud is its leader, and Dansen Macabre is his deputy. The group has seen ma-jor action on two occasions: first, when they assisted Captain America against Dr. Malus and the Power Brokers, whose experiments flooded Los Angeles’s sewers with rejected mutations for the Unlimited Class Wrestling Federation. The second occurred when Shroud was absent, and Dansen Macabre ordered an attack against the West Coast Avengers in retaliation for the arrest of Digger, a Night Shift member. The attack was unsuccessful, but Night Shift escaped with the Shroud's assistance. Their headquarters is a "haunted estate" in the Santa Monica Mountains, defended by traps appropriate to the setting

EQUIPMENT:
Battlesuits: The Brothers Grimm have battlesuits that allow them to create a number of (often deadly) articles, all of which are nursery rhyme and fairy tale related. Although these are the attacks that they have used so far, it is probable that the Brothers Grimm costumes have not exhausted their "bag of tricks” yet. They include the following items:
  • Golden Threads: Remarkable (30) ensnaring missile (range: 3 areas)
  • Flying Star: Made out of Excellent material, this object can fly at Poor speed (4 areas/round)
  • Pies: These pies explode and release a murder (group) of crows, which fly around the he-ro. This hindrance causes a - 2CS penalty on Agility FEATs.
  • Dummies: These two dummies are decoys. The character must make an Intuition FEAT roll to distinguish from the real thing.
  • Eggs: These eggs explode, releasing an Incredible (40) corrosive (range 2 areas).
  • Beanstalk: Usable only within 2 areas from the ground, these beans grow to create an Incredible (40) ensnarement attack.
  • Stardust: Acts as an Incredible (40) paralysis attack (1 area range)
  • These items do not appear to be permanent (golden eggs created by the suit quickly vanish).
  • The suits appear to be compelling the Grimes to use them in a criminal manner.
TALENTS: Business

HISTORY
Percy and Barton Grimes were "adult" film theater owners living in Los Angeles. They acquired a run-down theater where the original Brothers Grimm had confronted Spider-Woman. Discovering the full-sized mannequins of the Brothers Grimm, Percy and Barton Grimes felt compelled to try on the Brother Grimm costumes. In doing so, they discovered they possessed the same powers of prestidigitation as the original Brothers Grimm mannequins. They used these powers to take revenge on a business rival, and were opposed by Iron Man II. Percy and Barton Grimes were taken into police custody for their crimes.

The Brothers Grimm later became professional criminals, and joined the Night Shift, and teamed up with Captain America against the Power Broker and his augmented mutates. With the rest of the Night Shift, the Brothers tested Moon Knight to take over as their leader. Alongside the Night Shift, they next battled the West Coast Avengers. The Brothers Grimm then attacked Hawkeye in order to collect the reward being paid by Crossfire to the first person who delivered to him Hawkeye's arm.

During the Acts of Vengeance conspiracy the Brothers Grimm were freed from prison by the Wizard. They battled a cosmic-powered Spider-Man and were defeated. Alongside Graviton, Titania, Trapster, and Goliath IV, the Brothers were hired by the Chameleon to kill Spider-Man. They were then tricked into attacking the Kingpin and defeated by Spider-Man.

The Brothers Grimm were later hired by the Hood to take advantage of the split in the superhero community caused by the Superhuman Registration Act. They were later captured by Nighthawk and Gargoyle and sent back to jail.

The Brothers Grimm appeared as part of the Hood's alliance with superpowered heroes; the grouping was intent on defeating the Skrull invasion force of New York City. They were later part of the Hood's criminal gang that was sent by Nor-man Osborn to attack the New Avengers.

The Brothers Grimm were among the new recruits for Camp H.A.M.M.E.R. Tigra beat Percy severely, and left a note for his brother reading, "You're next."

The Brothers Grimm were involved in a battle of Camp H.A.M.M.E.R., until the Hood ordered his men, including the Brothers Grimm, to tele-port to aid Osborn in the Siege of Asgard. After the battle was over, the Brothers Grimm were arrested along with other members of the Hood's gang.

The Brothers Grimm attended a meeting of various villains organized by the Wizard to discuss what to do about Doctor Doom who had unexpectedly decided to become a superhero and become the new Iron Man. As the Hood brought up the idea of forming a gang of villains to take Doom out, Doom suddenly appeared and took down all of the villains present. They later participated in an ambush against Doom along with many of the other villains that Doom had earlier defeated before joining Hood's Gang once more in ransacking Castle Doom in search for Doom's fortune.

  • Hypnosis: Incredible (40)
  • Death (Victim must make an Endurance FEAT check and consult the Kill table. Treat as if the Dance were an Edged attack).
Psychic Invisibility: Dansen Macabre is able to disappear at will with Amazing (50) ability. She may use this power to be perceived by a limited number of people (some but not all of the people in a room). Those with special senses may make an Intuition check to spot her, with magical senses at +2CS.

TALENTS: Occult Lore; Trivia: Shiva

HISTORY
A member of the Cult of Kali, a Nepalese cult that studied martial arts and mystical disciplines, Dansen Macabre hypnotized Spider-Man into battling the Shroud for her, hoping to kill him as punishment for running away from the cult temple and his devotion to fighting crime. The Shroud managed to shake Spider-Man from his trance, and they defeated her together.

She was later captured by the criminal, Locksmith, who was embarking on a plan to capture superhuman beings and keep them imprisoned so that regular humans could be free to strive and achieve without being overshadowed. The Locksmith had also captured Spider-Woman, who managed to escape and free all the other superhumans.

At some point, Dansen Macabre was contacted by the Shroud to join his team of criminals called the Night Shift, the circumstances of which remain unrevealed.

Macabre was elected as deputy leader of the group and often led the team in criminal endeavors when the Shroud was absent, such as leading an attack on the West Coast Avengers in revenge for capturing the Night Shift member, Digger. In this encounter, Dansen Macabre was defeated by the Scarlet Witch.

Eventually, the Night Shift mutinied against the Shroud's leadership, and came under the sway of the Hangman and Satannish.

Dansen Macabre later became a member of Superia's all-female team of supervillains, the Femizons.

Dansen, as part of Night Shift, was hired by Snapdragon to take down Moon Knight.

KNOWN POWERS:
Psychokinesis: Gypsy Moth is a mutant with the power to manipulate non-living materials by mental com-mand. She has a preference for "soft" materials (organic tissue and fabric, as opposed to "hard" inorganic ones). She can manipulate Materials to Monstrous (75) level, though she only willingly affects materials up to Remarkable (30) rank. This is sufficient to cause a hero's costume or hair to constrict or bind (a Wrestling hold at costume’s material rank, maximum of Remarkable).

Gypsy Moth can also affect living creatures, causing muscles to cramp or skin to break. She must make a Monstrous Control roll with a -4CS to do this; if she is successful, her victims must make an Endurance FEAT or suffer up to Remarkable (30) damage (and possible stun). Her powers have a one area range.

Flight: Poor (4 areas/round). She can only levitate herself. Her wings are purely decorative.

HISTORY
Sybil Dvorak was born and raised in Focşani, Romania. She is a mutant whose powers manifested them-selves while she was a child. Raised by gypsies, she had spent much time alone nurturing and focusing her mental abilities. In her late teens, she met a handsome middle-aged American actor named Jason Reed who was starring in a foreign-financed remake of the movie Dracula. Seduced by him, she agreed to ac-company him to Hollywood, California as his mistress. The glamour and excitement of being in America in love with a wealthy actor soon faded when Reed spent increasingly more time away from home. Her citizen-ship papers not yet processed, and still not speaking English fluently, Dvorak felt like a prisoner in the actor's home She soon began to suspect that Reed was having affairs with other Hollywood starlets. One night she used her powers to weave herself wings and a disguise, and began to scour the haunts of the rich and famous in search of her errant lover.

The sight of these social gatherings, which she felt she could never be a part of, provoked her to use her powers to adopt the identity of the Gypsy Moth and begin preying upon socialites. This brought her to the attention of the original Spider-Woman, who mistakenly believed that Dvorak was one of the High Evolutionary's creations. Though Drew tried to befriend the woman, and even blasted then-boyfriend Jerry Hunt in the face to prevent him from shooting out Gypsy Moth's wings, Dvorak rebuffed her.

She was battling Spider-Woman in San Francisco when the hero disappeared as she was taken away to take part in the Contest of Champions.

Eventually, The Gypsy Moth received her American citizenship and an inclusion in Reed's will. Soon afterward, Jason Reed died and Dvorak inherited his home and wealth. She used it to start a hedonistic cult of drugs and decadence that worshiped her as their queen.

Spider-Woman found that the Gypsy Moth, Shroud, Tigra, the Werewolf, Poltergeist, Angar the Screamer, Daddy Longlegs, Dansen Macabre, Hangman, Killer Shrike, Needle, Nekra, Flying Tiger and Tatterdemalion are all prisoners of the Lock-smith. The two women cooperated to escape from the cell. Sybill was invited with other heroes to Jessica's apartment.

At some point later, the Gypsy Moth agreed to join the vigilante Shroud, who was forming a team of criminals called the Night Shift. The team battled Moon Knight. As a member of the Night Shift, the Gypsy Moth battled the Avengers West Coast on several occasions, including the time the Night Shift sold their souls to the demon Satannish in exchange for increasing their powers. Time and again the Night Shift was defeated. Eventually the Gypsy Moth quit the group and gave up her cult.

She was recruited to join the Femizons.

The Crimson Cowl recruited the Gypsy Moth for her new incarnation of the Masters of Evil. The Gypsy Moth was convinced by Hawkeye to turn on the Masters of Evil and joined his group, the Thunderbolts. As a member of the Thunderbolts, the Gypsy Moth recreated herself and adopted the new identity Skein. Though she was very cooperative, her flighty demeanor and romantic overtures towards teammate Song-bird caused her teammates to discourage her from staying on when the team expanded and reorganized, and so Skein quit and returned to Hamburg.

She kept her powers after M-Day.

During Dark Reign; she joined the Women Warriors, a female team part of the Initiative as the Delaware team.

In that team and along with Constrictor, she confronted the R.A.I.D., and later participated in Osborn's attack on Asgard.

During the Spider-Island event she was hired by the Spider Queen to abduct Alicia Masters. She used her powers on Jessica Drew to seal her mouth shut and dressed her as Gyp-sy Moth suit. This lead to a fight with the Thing who was trying to rescue Alicia. However the gag was re-moved and Alicia was rescued.

Skein is later seen as a member of White Rabbit's group The Menagerie as they were leaving the scene of a heist they pulled off involving Easter eggs. They were eventually stopped by Spider-Man.

At some point in time, she was imprisoned by S.H.I.E.L.D. in Pleasant Hill, a prison in the form of a small town where its inmates had their memories and appearances tampered with using a sentient Cosmic Cube named Kobik, so they could be turned into model citizens. When a group of villains led by Baron Zemo snapped out of this fantasy world and returned to their true selves, they attacked the village from within, wreaking havoc and freeing the other prisoners from Pleasant Hill's control. She was one of these numerous villains. When the bad guys took notice of the presence of the Avengers on the scene, they used their numbers to their advantage and mercilessly stroke down the heroes. However, Kobik took compassion on the Avengers and healed them.

Skein, White Rabbit and Jessica Jones, all three women with low-level powers, were similarly shot in the head the same week by the evil duplicate of Jared Beekman. Both Skein and White Rabbit appeared to be permanently dead, while Jessica Jones survived.

After Jared Beekman reabsorbed his evil duplicate, both White Rabbit and Skein woke up in the morgue suspecting that with the elimination of the evil Jared all his crimes were undid.

HISTORY
Not much is known regarding the man known only as the Misfit. He apparently underwent treatment by the Power Broker, a man profiting by endowing others with superhuman abilities, hoping to increase his strength. However, although the treatment was effective, it grotesquely distorted his body. About the same time, the criminals known as the Night Shift, led by the vigilante called the Shroud, attacked the Power Broker, thereby aiding the hero Captain America in exposing the criminal.

The team encountered the Misfit in doing so, and he elected to join the team. The Misfit participated in the group's subsequent activities, including an attack on the Avengers' West Coast branch in revenge for capturing the Night Shift member, Digger.

Eventually, the Night Shift mutinied against the Shroud's leadership, and presumably the team continued its villainous activities. Because of their frequent battles with the Avengers, he has developed an special enmity for U.S.Agent.

After being mugged one night while leaving work, an elderly tailor loses an eye and his ability to speak. How-ever, he also discovers that he has the power to paralyze with his gaze. Seeking revenge, the unnamed tailor assumes the guise of the professional criminal the Needle. Armed with a yard-long needle, the mute villain attacks young men on the streets at night, sewing their mouths shut. After victimizing S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Jerry Hunt, the Needle incurs the wrath of Spider-Woman (Jessica Drew), the agent's girlfriend. Somewhat resistant to the Needle's paralyzing gaze, Spider-Woman takes him out with a close-range venom blast. He is subsequently arrested.

With other superhuman adventurers and criminals, the Needle was imprisoned by the Locksmith, but then freed by Spider-Woman.

The Needle joined the Night Shift, and teamed with Captain America against the Power Broker and his augmented mutates. Alongside the Night Shift, he tested Moon Knight to take over as the leader of the Night Shift. Later, alongside the Night Shift, he battled the West Coast Avengers. Alongside the Night Shift, the second Hangman, and Satannish, he battled the Avengers West Coast; his abilities had been enhanced by Satannish's black magic.

The Needle was later defeated by Armory.

HISTORY
Arnold Paffenroth was the only son of a husband-wife vaudeville tap-dancing act, who began dancing at the age of eight. At eighteen, he met a dancer named Julia Walker and, adopting the stage name Michael Wyatt, formed a dance team with her that became popular enough to star in a number of motion pictures made in the late 1940s and early 1950s.

Paffenroth, knowing such success couldn't last, carefully invested his earnings in a Las Vegas casino. When indeed he could no longer get work in Hollywood, he split up with Julia Walker to attend to his casino business. In the early 1970s, while trying to acquire other real estate, Paffenroth ran afoul of Las Vegas mobsters, who swindled him out of everything he owned. Mentally deranged by the experience, he fled to Los Angeles where he soon became a drunken derelict. For several years he eked out a bare existence on the outskirts of society.

Finally, he was recruited into an ar-my of derelicts by Sidney Sarnak, a former sound engineer turned criminal. Sarnak had been hired and out-fitted by the Committee, a secret cabal of Los Angeles businessmen attempting to foster a climate of fear which they believed would stimulate the economy.

To this end, Sarnak organized a small army of derelicts which he controlled by means of a specially designed ultrasonic whistle capable of stimulating the emotional centers of the brain. Paffenroth was one of Sarnak's chief operatives until Sarnak went mad after an encounter with the Werewolf, Jack Russell. The Committee gave Paffenroth his own campaign of terror. Calling himself the Tatterdemalion, Paffenroth struck out randomly at the wealthy, whose ranks had once claimed him as a member. Unlike the common criminal who sought to acquire wealth for himself, the Tatterdemalion sought to destroy money and material possessions.

In Los Angeles, Tatterdemalion was opposed and defeated by the Were-wolf and Spider-Man, but was freed from police custody by the Commit-tee. Going to Las Vegas to terrorize the casino he once owned, he again faced the Werewolf in combat, along with Johnny Blaze, the Ghost Rider. While attempting to steal an expensive race car, the Tatterdemalion crashed and was left for dead. He survived, however, and eventually made his way back to Los Angeles. There he discovered that his former dance partner, Julia Walker, had been reduced to playing piano accompaniment for singers at a Holly-wood nightclub called Reilly's Ace of Clubs. Maddened that his one-time paramour had fallen on hard times, he began terrorizing the singers at the night club in a misguided belief that it would enable her to resume the limelight. The mutant Dazzler opposed him, however, and revealed to Walker who he really was. Walker attempted to rehabilitate him, but the mentally disturbed man eventually proved burdensome to her and she left him.

Under circumstances to be revealed, the Tatterdemalion was recruited into the Night Shift, a gang of Los Angeles-based misfits organized by the Shroud. Paffenroth served as a member of the Night Shift through-out its various incarnations, often coming into conflict with the hero team Avengers.

Tatterdemalion and the rest of Night Shift were hired by Snapdragon to kill Moon Knight, but after they failed, Snapdragon's boss, the L.A. Kingpin Count Nefaria, killed them all.

KNOWN POWERS:
Precognition: Tick Tock has Monstrous (75) powers of precognition. He reads the most likely timelines and is able to predict the future. He is also, with a Yellow Precognition FEAT roll, able to determine a hero's limitations, if a limitation could possibly occur (if an opponent took extra damage from ice attacks, and there was a teammate with ice powers present, Tick Tock could inform the teammate about the opponent's vulnerability.) His power only works 10 seconds into the future; if he tracks a character, he can determine if it is possible to encounter him 10 seconds in the future and find the optimal way of ensuring the encounter.

HISTORY
Tick-Tock assisted the Locksmith in capturing various super-heroes and villains in San Francisco and keeping them in Locksmith's prisons. Among their captives were Tigra, Poltergeist, Angar the Screamer, Flying Tiger, Gypsy Moth, Killer Shrike, Needle, Tatterdemalion, the Werewolf, Daddy Longlegs, Nekra, The Enforcer, Hangman and Dansen Macabre.

Tick-Tock assisted in the capture of Spider-Woman, and helped Lock-smith imprison her with their other captives. He used his power to help prevent break-outs, anticipating the prisoners' attempts before they could happen, but he did not foresee that when Spider-Woman broke out, she would change costumes with Gypsy Moth. Placing the two women in each other's cells, Spider-Woman was able to escape, and set all of the captives free. Locksmith collapsed, and Tick-Tock was sent to prison.

Tick-Tock later joined the Shroud's Night Shift, ironically alongside some of those he had helped the Lock-smith imprison, and assisted in their assault upon the Power Broker alongside Captain America (who was pretending to be hypnotized by Dan-sen Macabre). Tick-Tock was instrumental in getting them past the guards at the gate by predicting their movements. Tick-Tock helped Captain America and the Shroud guard the prisoners they took inside the Power Broker's mansion, and ultimately escaped with the Night Shift, evading the authorities.

Later Tick-Tock joined the Night Shift to observe Moon Knight's battle with the Shroud, as the Shroud test-ed him to serve as his replacement in the Night Shift.

After Digger was arrested by Mockingbird, Tick-Tock joined the Night Shift in attacking the Avengers Compound, unaware that Mocking-bird was no longer an Avenger. Tick-Tock helped the Brothers Grimm defeat the Vision by predicting when he would become solid, but the team was finally defeated by the Avengers. They were then rescued by the Shroud.

When the Hangman assumed control of the Night Shift, he encouraged each member to join him in a campaign of terror against Hollywood, pointing to their backgrounds for reasons why they should hate Holly-wood. He noted that Tick-Tock had wanted to be a timer in an animation studio once. Tick-Tock joined the Night Shift in receiving new power from Satannish, but lost a portion of their souls as a result. He accompanied the Night Shift as they captured Hawkeye, Spider-Woman II and the U.S. Agent, then attempted to offer their souls to Satannish. Iron Man and Living Lightning followed Digger to the Tower of Shadows, and saved their teammates from the Night Shift. Tick-Tock attempted to defeat them with his new powers, slowing the Avengers down, but Spider-Woman was outside his path, and knocked him out from behind. They were teleported away from the Avengers by Dansen Macabre. Tick-Tock then joined the Night Shift in an attack on Wonder Man, but found that Wonder Man was immune to his powers, possibly because of his ionic energies. After capturing Wonder Man, they were convinced by him to allow him to join them in their campaign against Hollywood by making their own film. When the U.S. Agent assumed the part Wonder Man had been playing in "The Demon That Devoured Hollywood", the Night Shift attacked him, and Tick-Tock slowed him down long enough for Misfit, Digger and Hangman to knock him out. Realizing that Won-der Man intended to betray them, they also brought Wonder Man down. As the Night Shift continued with their film project, the Avengers attacked them, all on film. The Night Shift nearly defeated them, but then learned from Doctor Strange that they had lost part of their souls to Satannish. They then turned on the Hangman, and helped the Avengers and Doctor Strange drive Satannish back to his own realm.

HISTORY
Carl Blake or Night Terror as he became to be known awoke one night with amnesia. He learned that he was a vampire and found that he could obtain the memories of his victims when he drank their blood.

His instincts lead him to a secret office of the intelligence organization that he worked for. There, Blake attacked the agents inside and got a few answers and a few leads to further answers.

While Blake was searching for more information about his identity, Wanderer was dispatched to retrieve Night Terror on behalf of the same covert agency that employed him previously. The two fought and Blake drank some of Wanderer's blood.

Blake discovered was that his Los Angeles assignment was a set up specifically to expose him and allow him to become a vampire. He further discovered that Wanderer, his former partner, knew of the motives behind his Los Angeles assignment and did nothing to prevent it.

Wanderer survived the encounter with Night Terror, whether or not this was Blake's intention is uncertain.

Night Terror later joined Steppin' Razor and Marie Laveau to serve Varnae in creating a "vampire empire." However, in battle with Blade, Night Terror was presumably slain. Varnae, whose spirit was discorporate at the time, assumed the body of Night Terror.

Wow, some great characters coming up like Modred, Nekra and Marganna Le Fe.

? Re: Reed Richards: do you subscribe to the theory that some/part of his reason/intelligence has been augmented by the cosmic radiation?

When I first read that many, many years ago, it seemed to make sense, and yet, with "only" Remarkable levels of Intelligence and Reason, would Reed have been able to do all the things he did prior to the space flight/radiation?

That's a good question. I'm leaning towards yes his brain was enhanced by the cosmic rays as well.

Using Bruce Banner as an example. Bruce has Remarkable intelligence, he built the gamma bomb and, during the Fall of the Hulks arc, he was building "Bannertech" like force fields, teleporters, hacking SHIELD.

I can see Reed with a -1cs Reason (or even a -2cs) still being in the "Smartest People" club. He was correcting Doom's calculations in college (and I subscribe that the deal Cynthia von Doom sold her soul for was to make it so her son could never fail. Basically what Reed comes to naturally, Doom comes to through the deal.)

Sidious, just a couple weeks ago, basically on a whim, I decided to re-investigate FASERIP. There were loads of threads where I'd find people saying it was still the best supers system of the last 30 years. I've been having a blast re-acquainting myself with it - and deciding what house rules I want to use with it!

Anyway, I stumbled on this thread from Jab's thread and devoured the pages in a couple days. I'll be tuned in from now on!
