Total: Abilities: 60 / Skills: 54--27 / Advantages: 11 / Powers: 2 / Defenses: 11 (111)

-haha, I had SUCH a crush on Jun back in the day. As one of Tekken 2's newbies (alongside Lei), Jun was a very small, young Japanese woman who used an Aikido-themed art-style that's all about dumping people on their ass during counter-attacks. She was perhaps the major character who suffered most during the jump in time between Tekken 2 and Tekken 3, as she was now DEAD. However, this was a blessing for her importance in the canon, as now Jun was forever important to the mythos of the series, having born Jin Kazama from the game's Final Boss, Kazuya- and Jin became the new Main Character of Tekken!

-Jun is thus one of the least-known characters in terms of personality, never having gotten the expansion known to even characters like Kuma or Roger. She is a tranquil, peaceful beauty, all "at one with nature" and junk, able to talk to animals like a real Disney Princess. She attempted to rescue Kazuya from his "Devil Gene", seeing some good in him. She spurred an inner conflict within Kazuya, who failed against Heihachi. However, Jun & Kazuya had aparently TOTALLY gotten it on, and she gave birth to Jin, who was the new "Signature Character" of Tekken 3, which also announced that Jun had recently been slain by the monstrous Ogre. Despite the series being famous for nigh-unkillable characters, she has yet to reappear in continuity- her memory prevents Jin from slaying his grandfather, Heihachi, in one game, however. She instead shows up in the Tekken Tag Tournament games, looking a thousand times more stylish, and even being the Final Boss, "Unknown".

-Jun is a highly-nimble fighter prone to reversals, but as she only appeared in one game (and wasn't important to the overall plot until she bred), she's only PL 7.

It looks like it might be concept art from Tekken Tag Tournament 2.

Kazuya desired to take the Devil Gene from him as well. This has left Jin thinking that both his father and grandfather are evil men, and need to be killed.
Relationship (Jun Kazama- Mother)- Jin loved his mother dearly, and still misses her presence.
Rivalry (Hwoarang)- The cocky TKD fighter considers Jin a rival. Jin seems disinterested in continuing this thread.
Enemy (Miguel Caballero Rojo)- Miguel's sister was killed in an airstrike ordered by Jin, and he's out for blood.

Total: Abilities: 74 / Skills: 52--26 / Advantages: 17 / Powers: 1 / Defenses: 14 (132)

-Tekken 3 made the risky decision to basically switch protagonists in the series, as Kazuya disappeared and Heihachi became a Boss again... just in time for Jun & Kazuya's son to come of age. Raised by his mother in the wilderness, he was staggered by her murder at the hands of Ogre, and came to his grandfather, Heihachi, as a result. Now with the training of both Kazama & Mishima families, he prepared to take the lead. Jin was very well-received for a New Main Character- something that's fraught with peril in video game history (look at Raiden in Metal Gear Solid 2). His INCREDIBLE fashion sense, with the giant flame-pants and cool hair, is a big part of it. Making him look awesome, big, and strong went a long way in getting fans from both Japan and the US to like him. His sympathetic backstory was well done, too- you WANTED to see him get his revenge, and wanted to see how he'd react to his evil father and grandfather.

-Jin's story would grow darker, though- again, the Tekken series would show a lot of guts, having Jin fall to darkness more and more as time went on. Initially a bit stand-offish and stoic, he would start doing crazy things to maintain order, and eventually revealed the same "Devil Gene" that his father possessed. In his debut, he successfully kills the monstrous Ogre, even after the beast absorbed Heihachi's strength- Heihachi then murders him out of fear, but Jin reawakens as "Devil Jin". In Tekken 4, he tries to kill Kazuya & Heihachi, then himself, ridding the world of their dark bloodline forever, but ultimately couldn't go through with it. In Tekken 6, he has become the new leader of the Mishima Zaibatsu, and uses it to throw the world into chaos- a dark act for a "positive" end- the destruction of the demonic Azazel, a much bigger threat, who would be lured out by this chaos. He attempts to sacrifice himself to kill Azazel, but recovers.

-Jin is one of Tekken's top-tier fighters, initially being a Moveset Clone of Kazuya (with a bit of Jun thrown in), but developing more traditional karate moves. As this is a Japanese game series, the most Japanese of martial arts tend to be favored, and Jin's explosive power makes him a top dog in nearly every game. And canonically he has the most tournament victories, having won in Tekken 3, 5 and 6.

Enemy (Miguel Caballero Rojo)- Miguel's sister was killed in an airstrike ordered by Jin, and he's out for blood.
Power Loss (Devil Form)- The Kazama family (including Jin's cousin, Asuka), can neutralize the Devil Gene by touch.

Total: Abilities: 80 / Skills: 54--27 / Advantages: 17 / Powers: 14 / Defenses: 14 (152)

-As the son of Kazuya, Jin was afflicted with part of the Devil Gene when Kazuya was nearly "all dead". He appeared in the story of Tekken 3 (Jin is killed by a treacherous Heihachi to prevent him from being a threat in the future, but instead rises as Devil Jin). The Devil form is destructive, arrogant, and taunting- far unlike Jin's natural personality. He also looks FRIGGIN' COOL (way different from the funny Purple Devil that Kazuya becomes).

It's kind of interesting that with Jin the series kind of cheated on its own mythos, since the first 2 games implied that the "Devil Gene" jumped a generation, which was why Heihachi didn't have a demonic alter-ego. Based on that Devil-Jin shouldn't exist.
"You're right. Sorry. Holy shit," I breathed, "heckhounds.”

While irrelevant to your build, Jin underwent a moveset change in Tekken 4 that had him using traditional Kyokushin karate instead of the Mishima style. He uses his old moveset for one fight against Hwaorang in 4, and gets it as an optional stance change from Tekken Tag Tournament on.

Expertise (Martial Arts) 6 (+6)
Investigation 2 (+4)
Perception 2 (+4)

Advantages:
Chokehold, Fast Grab, Grab Finesse, Improved Critical (Unarmed), Improved Defense, Improved Hold, Improved Initiative, Improved Trip, Power Attack, Prone Fighting

Powers:
"Can Still Throw Big Guys" Power-Lifting 1 (200 lbs.) [1]
"Special Moves" Strength-Damage +2 (Inaccurate -1) [1]

Special Moves +13 (+3 Damage, DC 18)
Initiative +9

Defenses:
Dodge +9 (DC 19), Parry +12 (DC 22), Toughness +2, Fortitude +4, Will +4

Complications:
Motivation (Finding Her Adoptive Father)- Katarina was orphaned at a young age, and adopted by a man she'd never met. Though she rebelled with a ton of profane language, she eventually came to care for the man. When he disappeared, she lacked the money to search for him. She fights in the King of the Iron Fist tournament in order to make it.
Reputation (Vulgar)- Katarina is extremely foul-mouthed to everyone, even her adoptive father.

Total: Abilities: 52 / Skills: 28--14 / Advantages: 10 / Powers: 2 / Defenses: 9 (86)

-Katarina is a savate fighter from Latin America, and her combination of smart-mouthed sassiness and her "Spam-Happy" fighting style has made her another hated Tekken 7 character. Apparently she's notoriously easy to learn for newbies- like Eddy Gordo and other characters, it's VERY easy to just hit one button repeatedly and spam hard-to-block chained combos that give unpracticed fighters nightmares. This is kind of a recurring issue in the Tekken series, which gives it a bad reputation among casuals for being "too easy" and broken, as only the most advanced players can typically defend against these spamming tactics. The "Fighters Generation" guy insists upon learning to defend yourself against her quick and early for this reason.

-Her "bikini top, open jacket, striped 1970s pants" look is really interesting and unique- Tekken has some REALLY stylish characters. In her ending, she discovers that the hulking monster, Gigas, is actually her missing father- mutated.

-As a newbie character, I stuck her at PL 7.

Total: Abilities: 36 / Skills: 24--12 / Advantages: 10 / Powers: 1 / Defenses: 13 (72)

-Man, why is "Gigas" like, the most popular singular villain name in Japan? It's insane how many times I've heard some variant of that name. I think the first one might be Gigas from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, but I've seen it pop up elsewhere as well. World Heroes uses both Geegus and Neo-Geegus as Final Bosses. The "Trio Leader" of the Legendary Titans in Pokemon is Regigigas. Famously underappreciated Earthbound (aka Mother 2) features a Final Boss named Giygas. And now Tekken 7 introduces THIS guy. What is it with this name? Does it just sound REALLY COOL to the Japanese? It's a plural form of Gigantes ("giant") in Greek, but it's for every damn thing in Japan.

-Gigas is a mutated behemoth who takes the role of Final Boss of Tekken 7. Unlike the other characters, who all have important historical places in the universe (the world-altering Mishima Clan, Ogre as a God of Fighting, Azazel as a Destroyer of the World, etc.), Gigas is basically just a big monster created from science. It's revealed that he is the adoptive father of Katarina Alves, having been captured by Kazuya's G Corporation and mutated unto a hulking, red monster. He is sent into the seventh King of the Iron Fist Tournament in order to test his fighting skills, as the DNA of various fighters was utilized in his creation.

-Gigas is a monstrous, big, slow fighter, more akin to an exaggerated Craig Marduk. He's hard to play defensively against, as he has huge range and can punish blocking opponents. His Special Moves are also good at stunning you if you block- you have to stick and move.

Defenses:

Complications:
Responsibility (Mysterious Bosses)- Sergei works for people hidden in the shadows, on missions that involving kidnapping Jin Kazama, Azazel and other characters.
Rivalry (Raven)- Raven has opposed Sergei on various missions.

Total: Abilities: 58 / Skills: 50--25 / Advantages: 18 / Powers: 2 / Defenses: 13 (116)

-Sergei joined Lili as one of the two new characters in Tekken 5, and is a member of the legendar Spetsnaz group of Russian elite soldiers. A mysterious, inscrutable character (ironically fitting the "Yellow Peril" villains the West tends to create, given that Tekken is a Japanese series), he was dubbed "The White Angel of Death". He is utterly calculating and unflappable, rarely talking and thus unsettling everyone he fights. He's proven memorable enough to recur in every subsequent game in the series.

-Dragunov is a very strong character, sporting some of the hardest-hitting moves in the game- this pressures opponents badly, causing them to make mistakes that are easily-exploited by high-priority moves of his. He can even reverse while crouching- the only character to do so!

Powers:

Special Moves +13 (+3 Damage, DC 18)
Initiative +9

Defenses:
Dodge +9 (DC 19), Parry +14 (DC 24), Toughness +2, Fortitude +4, Will +6

Complications:
Motivation (Breaking Up Fights)- Despite being a martial artist herself, Asuka breaks up street fights constantly. When she hears that Jin's war with his family may cause a global conflict, she also fights to stop it.
Enemy (Feng Wei)- Asuka's family and stable-mates were beaten up by the vicious fighter Feng Wei.
Rivalry (Lili)- The upper-class Lili and the tough Asuka disliked each other immediately, and have a big rivalry.

Total: Abilities: 56 / Skills: 32--16 / Advantages: 12 / Powers: 2 / Defenses: 12 (98)

-Coming in pretty late in the game (Tekken 5), Asuka is actually a pretty good idea- while Yet Another Teen Girl Fighter, she's related to Jin Kazama... but is NOT part of the Mishima Clan. Instead, she's related to him on his MOTHER'S side, and thus their relationship is a bit different. Speaking with the Kansai dialect (a very informal manner seen as a bit "country bumpkin" in Tokyo), she has a penchant for breaking up fights and sticking her nose into the business of others. She entered the Fifth King of the Iron Fist Tournament to find out who beat up her father- Feng Wei is thus one of her rivals. She also chides Jin for starting a conflict that endangers the world, and later has a rivalry with the upper-class Lili, thus tying her in with a lot of characters. This "Boisterous Teen Girl" persona is actually a bit interesting, though it seems like they modify her for each game, trying to stick her into more people's story arcs.

-Asuka is a pretty typical Teen Girl Fighter, but is said to have an excellent defensive game, playing keepaway and having plenty of reversals.

Total: Abilities: 76 / Skills: 50--25 / Advantages: 13 / Powers: 23 / Defenses: 14 (151)

-Jinpachi was pretty silly. Like, did Kazuya REALLY need a Badass Grandpa? Never mind the weird resurrection thing, which always came off strangely in a game that was usually only KIND OF weird (a few Robots and only the Bosses were mystical beings). In any cause, Jinpachi was the founder of the Mishima Zaibatsu, and a more honorable man. He was usurped and murdered by his son, Heihachi- slowly starved to death beneath the family compound. However, he is saved by a mysterious entity, and then freed in Tekken 5 when Jack Robots assault and destroy the compound. Jinpachi, infuriated, decides to put an end to his bloodline, and hopes to find a fighter who can kill him before the entity fully takes him over, announcing the Fifth King of the Iron Fist Tournament.

-Jinpachi is thus the Final Boss of Tekken 5, unplayable until the home release a year or so later. He looks pretty much like a more "Anime" version of Heihachi, with even MORE outlandish hair, and a wacky white beard. In the end, he is killed by his great-grandson, Jin Kazama. Grateful to be free of the evil entity controlling him, he dies peacefully.

-Jinpachi is less skilled than the other Mishimas, but has the same kind of overall power. He can sorta fly, zipping back and forth quickly. It's mainly used to be a threat at range, as you can get knocked out of it pretty easily up-close.

JINPACHI MISHIMA
Role:
Final Boss, Badass Grandpa
First Appearance: Tekken 5
Total Appearances: Tekken 5, Tekken Tag Tournament 2
Jinpachi's demonic boss form is also incredibly cheap, He has a teleport grab, an unblockable stun palm move, and an insanely powerful fireball move that takes off like 60% of your health! Jinpachi can also use the fireball in his normal form in Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (but thankfully it's not as powerful), where it's fire out of his hands, since he doesn't have the demonic mouth in his normal form.

-Oh Christ, of course there's another Mishima. Kazumi is actually Heihachi's EX-WIFE, and thus Kazuya's mother and Jin's grandmother... but Because Japan, she's a hot piece of 20-something. Rumored for a few years, she made her debut in Tekken 7 as one of the main antagonists, a mercurial woman who basically acts... weirdly seductive. Basically by being commanding & lecturing, but somewhat congratulatory. Basically a sexy "Lecturing Wife" type of character.

-Her backstory is that she's part of a clan that was devoted to watching over "dangerous men" and stopping them- this is what made her marry Heihachi. She loved both her husband and son, which left her conflicted, as she could see that they might turn towards evil. And so she ultimately surrendered to the "Devil Form" inside her, trying to gain the power necessary to kill Heihachi. Unfortunately for her, she failed and was killed. This act, snapping her neck as she pleaded for death, is what caused Kazuya to turn against Heihachi, as well. Her return in the seventh game is as a ghost, apparently.

-Kazumi's fighting style is a mix of her ex and son's moves- a lot of hard-hitting shots and flurries of moves. She can also unusually call her PET TIGER for a few moves. I pushed her to PL 9 because of her status as a major antagonist.

-Kazumi shares the family power to gain a "Devil" form- it might even come through HER line rather than Heihachi's (as Heihachi & Jinpachi never possessed it, and Kazumi's son & grandson both do). This just makes her stronger and packing an Energy Beam (nothing to sneeze at in a low-Toughness world like this one). As a Final Boss, she's elevated to PL 10.5- quite high-tier for Tekken characters.

-Josie is YET ANOTHER TEEN GIRL FIGHTER in the Tekken series, debuting in the seventh game. Tekken's first Filipino character, she's also a bit of a crybaby, being afraid of bears and having something bad happen to her in her past. She fights like a mini-version of Bruce, using various moves of us, such as the Cyclone Kick, but is actually based on Eskrima-style Kickboxing. She was somewhat controverisal, being named for a national hero of the Philippines named Jose Rizal- her crybaby nature and being a teen girl caused issues.
