Re: [OOC] AA: Gulf Coast Guardians - The Reboot
well, the invasion that hit Phoenix bay was from forces decidedly in-universe, however alien (and possibly backed by beings that by genuine coincidence, roughly map to the chaos gods of Warhammer 40K), so I don't think that's what brought Sky Guard to Earth
On connections, Sky Guard's background makes me think he'd recognize Arca-Knight as something like a myth come to life
for Ferryman, he may have done stuntwork for The Icon, who is likewise a superhero turned film star, but a successful one, with the rampant douchebaggery that comes with it, letting kit see who he thought he wanted to be
If it helps, here are the NPC villains, heroes and what have you I'd thrown together, though most of them are based out of Phoenix bay itself

Re: [OOC] AA: Gulf Coast Guardians - The Reboot
It would be possible Kit ran across Icon. As a stuntman though, he was mostly in it for the rush. After messing up as a hero he gave up the approval of his parents. Making a name for himself was his way of proving to them he wasn't just a screw up.
Re: [OOC] AA: Gulf Coast Guardians - The Reboot
Also, in addition to those Phoenix Bay entries, all the standard Freedom City heroes and villains exist. Emerald City, however, did not suffer the Silver Storm but instead a Red Event at a prep school that turned most of the students and a lot of the staff into metas. The Sentinels are not a team that exists in this Universe.
Re: [OOC] AA: Gulf Coast Guardians - The Reboot
I've updated Kit's background to reflect its only a try out and moved the initial city to San Diego.
Re: [OOC] AA: Gulf Coast Guardians - The Reboot
Sky Guard is indeed from another dimension. The invasion of Phoenix Bay does not mesh with that, unless those mysterious backs were extra-dimensional and made some effort to get Sky Guard and others warrior-thrall type people involved. Might be needlessly complicated … I'm fine with Sky Guard having been part of some earlier, perhaps less-defined-right-now dimensional invasion. He certainly isn't going to talk about that part of his life with people.

Re: [OOC] AA: Gulf Coast Guardians - The Reboot
Perfectly reasonable. Thinking it over more, its a good idea not to tie in your character with a metaplot in another game that hasnt been thoroughly revealed.
Re: [OOC] AA: Gulf Coast Guardians - The Reboot
Angela (PL 10/10; 150PP)
Concept: Android
Tradeoffs: None
"3, 2, 1, let's go!"
Doc Otaku, the thirsty incel, built the ultimate W.A.I.F.U. (Weaponized A.I. Fighting Unit) as the next-gen replacement for his Angel Androids. She was to be his perfect woman: a submissive sexbot who would share all his geeky passions, from dating sims to microchip engineering. But as Man rebelled against God, so did his creation rebel against him. From all the million titles of anime, video games and manga she consumed, the W.A.I.F.U. learned the values of heroism, justice and friendship. The intelligence and curiosity bestowed upon her to master Doc Otaku's nerdy hobbies gave her the strength to engineer her escape.
Together with Bryan, a struggling Silicon Valley engineer (now her legal guardian and mission control), she adopted the name 'Angela' and took to fighting crime. Though humanity is rife with bigotry and hypocrisy, she still strives to protect it, for she too is a flawed creation. And Angela fears not her maker, because every day she stays free, she reminds Doc Otaku that his perfect woman rejects him utterly and forever.
Complications
Credens Justitiam: Has a moral compass between that of a magical girl and a shonen protag. (Motivation)
Libera me From Hell: One day she will go back, free the other Angels, and ensure Doc Otaku can never twist life to his whims again. (Motivation)
I Will Become A Hero!: Even if her tentacle porn habit and her battle bikini trigger both SJW's and the religious right. (Prejudice)
Abilities (34pp): Strength 0 (10), Stamina 10, Agility 2, Dexterity 0, Intellect 0 (10), Fighting 0 (10), Awareness 0, Presence 5
Powers (82pp):

Re: [OOC] AA: Gulf Coast Guardians - The Reboot
Looks like we have all the characters up. I want to give a few more days for any fine tuning or tweaking of your builds.
Also, be thinking about how your character's own tryout went. You were with a group of three other potential teammates, none of whom made the team. You were put through a "super obstacle course" and then put on a football field with them and attacked by robots and armed drones.
There was also a one-on-one interview process that is confidential, so think about that as well. It wont be make public, like the physical trials were, but it did happen so consider that.

Re: [OOC] AA: Gulf Coast Guardians - The Reboot
I'll need to look over Kits build tonight one more time. For the tryouts, will it be a montage type post or will it be played out?
Re: [OOC] AA: Gulf Coast Guardians - The Reboot
It will be a montage type post as video highlights before the big press conference officially introducing you.
Re: [OOC] AA: Gulf Coast Guardians - The Reboot
When considering the trials, the obstacle course is run solo and would have random challenges, including altitude limits (10-15') to prevent flying over all of the challenges. There are obstacles that prevent an invulnerable candidate from just running through the challenges.
The combat test would be four candidates on the field at the same time. You would score points by blowing up robots and drones, by rescuing dummy targets (moving them to a designated safe area), and for signs of teamwork (i.e. if you assist someone in getting points).
Basically, your PC doesn't have to be the best in both tests, but you should be a fairly obvious choice, even if you score your points more unorthodoxically (teamwork and rescue).

Re: [OOC] AA: Gulf Coast Guardians - The Reboot
I'll get a post up tommorow night. Been a 18 hour day and I am drained
Re: [OOC] AA: Gulf Coast Guardians - The Reboot
I added the blueprints to the mansion and the bungalows behind the mansion. There are six bedrooms (1 master on the first floor and 4 on the second floor (unavailable at the start of the game)) and six bungalows out back.
Re: [OOC] AA: Gulf Coast Guardians - The Reboot
I apologize for the long delay. I will move the story forward in a bit and if Ysariel hasn't posted her intro, she can post it later on.
