Garuda Hearts Brainstorm & Notes

Garuda Hearts
Premise: What if Harry’s maternal grandfather had been an S Class Ayashi, while his grandmother came from a long line of Squibs? Well this is just that sort of story!
Required Inclusions:
- Harry’s grandfather was a Garuda, a subspecies of Phoenix with a humanoid form.
- Harry never went to the Dursley’s, though they can still exist in the story.
- Lily must have inherited her ability to perform magic from her mother, while having inherited her Garuda form from her father.
- Harry conversely, inherited his Garuda form from Lily and his magic from both of his parents.
- No one apart from James and her parents should know that Lily was a Garuda.
- Lily and Harry both survive Voldemort’s attack because of the fact that Garuda, like all Phoenix are essentially immortal. The explanation they give everyone else, is up to the author.
- Lily must homeschool Harry until it is time for him to head to Yokai Academy.
- There being no such thing as a Half-Ayashi, if an Ayashi has a child with a human, then the Ayashi DNA will be dominant, and if two different species of Ayashi have a child, the more powerful of the parents will have their DNA be dominant, though the child can still inherit traits from both parents all the same, as is the case with inheriting magic.
Preferred Inclusions:
- Harry’s magic giving his powers as a Garuda a secondary element in addition to Fire.
- Harry being in the same year as Gin, but only joins the NPC when Moka and Tsukune do. The reason he gives for not joining earlier are up to the author. (This is unlikely for me to do).
- After Voldemort’s attack, the Wizarding World is optional to include.
- Harry initially being around Kuyou’s level of power.
- No one in the school discovering Harry is a Garuda until the fight with Kuyou.
Optional Inclusions:
- Minor Gin Bashing.
- Lily being paired with Kahlua Shuzen.
- Lily being a Super S Class Monster, while Harry is merely an S Class.
- Harry being paired with one of the following: Mizore, Kurumu, Fleur, Gabrielle, Daphne, Astoria, or Kokoa.
Forbidden Things:
- Harry being paired with Moka Akashiya or San Otonashi.
- Harry the Emo Doormat.

Complications
- Enemy: The Dark Lord Voldemort would love it very much if Harry would just go ahead and die already. The problem is, at least for Voldemort, that the Dark Lord Voldemort would much prefer it if he were the one to send Harry to his early grave.
- Honor: Harry would much prefer to face his opponents head on in open combat, rather than to deal with them in a much more subtle manner. That isn't to say he is incapable of operating in a subtle manner, after all, he would have been a plausible candidate for Slytherin House, had he ever sat his Sorting Feast.
- Motivation: Doing Good: Harry will always try to save a damsel in distress, even if that damsel is actually a guy, or even when that damsel might not be someone he really has a good relationship with.
- Relationship: Harry is the son of Lily Julia Potter, née Evans. She is a woman who can consider herself one of the most powerful Ayashi in the world at the current point in time.
- Temper: Harry is a tempestuous young man, who will often act without considering the consequences, even when he is being advised of those consequences by those who might have some idea what they are talking about.

Complications
- Motivation: Greed: Mizore's species can only get pregnant between the ages of 17 and about 25. Naturally, this means that Mizore will be doing everything in her power to ensure she has a child once her biological clock has given her the power to do so.
- Mythic Weakness: Mizore, like all Yuki-Onna, suffers an additional degree of effect from Fire and/or Heat effects. Additionally, Yuki-Onna seem to require lollipops with special freezing cores to help offset their body's natural tendency to overheat in all but the coldest of environments.
- Phobia: It's not so much that Mizore is afraid of heat and fire as it is that she just doesn't like them. She tends to become rather lazy and somewhat grumpy when in such environments.
- Power Loss: While Mizore is more than capable of using her powers to their full effectiveness on a temperate day or colder, if she is in a temperature that is hotter than that, her powers will drastically decrease in effectiveness, becoming Impaired in Intense heat and Disabled in Extreme heat.

- Relationship: To those who have earned her trust, Ruby would be very loyal and hard working in her efforts to please them, even going so far as to designate herself as the 'Toy' of whichever male catches her fancy.

Complications
- Game Face: Veela can assume a "Game Face" as it were, and while this has no bearing on their combat stats, it does hinder them in the sense that it prevents them from utilizing their Allure. On the other hand, it grants them access to a pseudo-power stunt in the form of the ability to cast the Incendio Charm wandlessly.
- Motivation: Doing Good: Gabrielle shares Harry's desire to help those who need to be helped.
- Power Loss: Gabrielle loses the benefits of her Fey Resilience when defending against attacks made utilizing Cold Iron.
- Reputation: Veela are known to be extraordinarily beautiful, to the point of being able to cause any man to fall hopelessly in love with them just by seeing them. This tendency causes many women to be outright hostile towards Veela.
- Rivalry: While Veela and Succubi tend to share many characteristics in common, they also have just as many differences. Succubi are more a manifestation of mankind's ideal woman, while Veela are more a manifestation of the raw untamed beauty of nature. They tend not to get along.
- Temper: Veela are prone to sudden fits of violence and irrationality.

Complications
- Accident Prone: Tsukune will often be in the wrong place at the right time, or else the right place at the wrong time. He is also prone to groping girls in embarrassing and completely accidental ways. This is all a side effect of his "powers" being almost entirely reliant upon the good will of the goddess Fortuna.
- Motivation: Acceptance: Tsukune really just wants to attend his classes and pass them with sufficient grades to graduate Yōkai Academy and move on with his life, possibly with a chance at marrying Moka in the immediate aftermath if he is lucky. He doesn't want to make any trouble for anyone and would be happier if the various monsters at the academy would just leave him alone.
- Power Loss: Tsukune's luck-based abilities do not function when observed too closely or when he attempts to consciously manipulating them. In fact, they often backfire in such situations.
- Relationship: Tsukune is the object of affection for Akashiya Moka, Kurono Kurumu, and Sendo Yukari, with Shuzen Kokoa trying to kill him for being too close to her sister. Of those girls, the only one he is actually interested in, is Akashiya Moka.
- Reputation: As being an easy target for the various Ayashi attending Yōkai Academy. The only reason he hasn't been killed yet, is because Tsukune has three very overly protective girls vying for his attention.

Complications
- Dude Magnet: Half of the problems Tsukune suffers from are because he is in love with quite possibly the single most attractive girl at Yōkai Academy. Worse still... Even the girls seem to want her!
- Motivation: Greed: TSUKUNE!!!
- Quirk: While she is far from being stupid, Omote Moka can be a bit of a ditz at times.
- Secret Identity: Omote Moka might in reality be Akasha Bloodriver, or at the very least some form of psychic link between Ura Moka and her mother, as Ura Moka is the original Moka.
- Temper: Threatening Tsukune will provoke violent reactions from both of Moka's personalities.
- The Rosario & Holding Back: In order for Moka to benefit from her Holding Back advantage, Tsukune has to spend a Hero Point on her behalf, but this can only be done if the following two conditions are first met: Over half of her comrades must have already been incapacitated or many innocent lives must be endangered by the threat she is facing (up to and including both her own and that of Tsukune's); and she must succeed on a DC 18 Will Check, although given the number of ranks in Holding Back that she possesses, she also benefits from a +5 circumstance bonus on that Will Check. Once that is accomplished, she is able to make use of the Ura Moka stat block.
- Weakness: Moka becomes Impaired, and then Disabled when exposed to water.

Complications
- Motivation: Responsibility: Ura Moka represents the original personality of Akashiya Moka, and will only ever appear once the Rosario has been removed from Omote Moka's neck. She will then usually deal swiftly with whatever it is that has threatened Omote Moka and her friends, before reattaching the Rosario and going back to sleep.
- Relationships: Akashiya Moka, regardless of which form she is in, is the daughter of Akasha Bloodriver, and the half-sister of all of Issa and Gyakuro Shuzen's daughters. While she adores her siblings, she isn't necessarily on friendly terms with them.

The Mighty Northern Wind Brainstorm & Notes

The Mighty Northern Wind
Premise: “Yes, you can lose somebody overnight, yes, your who life can be turned upside down. Life is short. It can come and go like a feather in the wind.” ~~ Shania Twain.
Required Inclusions:
- Wrong-Girl-Who-Lived fic.
- Harry must be a mutant and a squib after the attack on the Potter family by Voldemort.
- Harry must run away from the Potter family or the Dursley’s (Dependent on where he has been living up until that point in time).
- While living on the streets, Harry must meet a young Emma Frost.
- Emma must help Harry, either by periodically bringing him supplies or by bringing him back home with her, thus causing Harry to follow her loyally.
- When Emma joins the Hellfire Club and eventually becomes the White Queen, Harry must also join it and eventually become her White Knight (i.e. her Bodyguard/Personal Assistant).
- Harry must be paired with Emma at the very bare minimum.
- When it is discovered that Harry is the one who is prophesied to defeat the Dark Lord Voldemort, and not his sister, Emma must return with him to Great Britain to help him.
Preferred Inclusions:
- Harry uses his mutant powers to save Emma’s life when they first meet.
- Harry’s mutant powers being more physical, or in some way opposite to Telepathy.
- Emma, and Harry by association, joining the X-Men or Generation X when they are founded.
- The story being set during an X-Men Evolution universe with a younger Harry and Emma trying to take over the Hellfire Club for benevolent reasons.
Optional Inclusions:
- Emma will probably be reluctant to share Harry with Jean and will be somewhat bemused by his sister’s interest in a romantic relationship with Harry, though she should relent, eventually.
- The Stepford Cuckoos identifying Harry as their father, even if there is no genetic relationship.
- Harry’s sister and Jean looking nearly identical to one another. The resemblance is such that they could wear the same outfit and confuse the heck out of anyone who isn’t telepathic.
Forbidden Things:
- Scott Summers being paired with Harry’s sister just because she looks like Jean.
- Harry the Emo Doormat, though his sister might develop emo tendencies.
- Any blondes being involved in the pairing other than Emma.
- Harry being paired with anyone male.

Complications
- Honor: Harry would much prefer to face his opponents head on in open combat, rather than to deal with them in a much more subtle manner. That isn't to say he is incapable of operating in a subtle manner, after all, he would have been a plausible candidate for Slytherin House, had he ever sat his Sorting Feast.
- Motivation: Doing Good: Harry will always try to save a damsel in distress, even if that damsel is actually a guy, or even when that damsel might not be someone he really has a good relationship with.
- Relationship: Harry is the devoted boyfriend of Emma Frost, as well as the object of affection for Jean Grey and several other girls up to and including his twin sister. Harry's sister is Dahlia Lillian Potter, and she is heralded as the Girl Who Lived, because how could a squib possibly be the one to survive an instantly lethal curse, right? His mother and father are Lily and James Potter.
- Temper: Harry is a tempestuous young man, who will often act without considering the consequences, even when he is being advised of those consequences by those who might have some idea what they are talking about.

Meanwhile, the Flash (Barry Allen) has a Running Speed rank of 20, allowing him to run at 2,000,000 MPH or just over Mach 2,600. Harry by comparison has a Running Speed of 14, just enough to qualify as running at 32,000 MPH, or just over Mach 40.

- Motivation: Responsibility: The Phoenix Force is the embodiment of all life in the entire cosmos. It has been granted the highest of authorities when it comes to decide when and where to cut the wheat from the chaff.

Complications
- Dark Side: In times of overwhelming stress it is possible that Jean's consciousness will be supressed by the absurdly powerful Cosmic Firebird that sleeps within her subconscious mind. This is not in any way, a good thing, as the Phoenix Force is not in any way a morning person! Odds are, when this occurs, someone will die a painful death and it might even be an entire planet that gets killed!
- Hatred: As far as Jean Grey is concerned, Severus Snape should be in prison just for being in the same room as any girl under the age of 24 who happens to have red hair and green eyes. She didn't even need her telepathy to figure out what he was thinking when he first laid eyes on her, either!
- Motivation: Responsibility: Jean was inspired by Xavier's dream for peaceful coexistence between mutants and everyday humans.
- Relationships: Jean has romantic feelings regarding three different individuals. Those individuals are Harry Potter, Scott Summers, and Logan Howlett. Jean is also a member of the X-Men's First Class.

Jean's Power Level: in relation to Emma's isn't really a fair indicator of which of the two is the more powerful psychic. For that you'd need to look at the Effect Ranks of their actual powers. By and large, Jean is going to have stronger power effects than Emma does when it comes to her Telepathy and Telekinesis, the reason that she rates a Power Level of 10, while Emma gets a Power Level of 12, is because of Emma's Diamond Form mutation.

- Enemy: Dahlia has spent the past several years actively thwarting the Dark Lord Voldemort in his efforts both to return to a corporeal body and to obtain an object that contained a prophecy which indicated it was Dahlia's brother, and not Dahlia herself, who had been Voldemort's most direct threat all this time.
- Motivation: Responsibility: Dahlia has been serving as her brother's proxy, not because it is the right thing to do, but because it is what has been expected of her since her early childhood. She only recently learned that she never had to do any of the crap she wound up doing, since she had never been the Girl Who Lived, but that just makes it harder for her to ignore the expectations of the common people.
- Phobia: Dahlia is utterly terrified of what would happen if Alastor Moody and Logan Howlett were to meet and compare notes on how to train their respective "students", even if Moody has supposedly retired from the education business.
- Quirk: Dahlia is completely and utterly oblivious to the unresolved sexual tension between her mother and Severus Snape that has the unfortunate side effect of causing him to have inappropriate thoughts regarding any redhead with green eyes.
- Relationship: Dahlia is the adoring younger sister of Harry Potter. This therefore, makes her the daughter of Lily and James Potter. She is also the one and only friend of Hermione Granger.
- Rivalry: It isn't really her intention to be in a rivalry with Slytherin House, but as Dahlia is the figurehead of Gryffindor House, she ends up in more confrontations with members of Slytherin than just about any other member of Gryffindor. She rarely if ever starts these confrontations, though.

Build Comments: "The Pollyanna" is basically the same thing as "Badgirl" or "Badboy" in that it provides a +2 circumstance bonus to Deception and Persuasion checks for the purposes of deceiving, seducing, romancing and changing the attitude of another character. However, where Badboy and Badgirl apply to those characters who find a character attractive despite knowing they are "no good for them", the Pollyana applies to those characters who feel the overwhelming need to protect the person with the advantage. This is the sort of advantage that Luna Lovegood embodied in the canonical series.

Incendium in Obscurum Floreat
Premise: Within a darkened soul, the light of the flame of love shines all the brighter and more fiercely.
Required Inclusions:
- Harry Potter must be the latest vessel for the Kryptonian deity known as The Nightwing.
- The Nightwing as a deity is a major supporting character in the Superman comics, where he is an empowering agent for Christopher Kent (Lor-Zod).
- Harry must gain knowledge of what he truly is after one of his yearly adventures knocks the knowledge of his superhuman powers free within his soul.
- Up until his knowledge of what he truly is happens to be knocked free, the life and times of Harry Potter must have been relatively canon, though other Supers can exist.
- Harry must be attracted to girls, just as Nightwing the deity was attracted to females.
Preferred Inclusions:
- The Kryptonian deity known as The Flamebird has also been reincarnated, though in her case it was not as a student at Hogwarts, but rather within Kara Zor-El.
- Nightwing and Flamebird having been forced into a cycle of rebirths where they constantly attempt to find and court each other, while also fighting crime.
Optional Inclusions:
- Due to his station within the Wizarding World, Harry being required to take multiple wives.
- Harry acquiring Kryptonian-scale superpowers.
- Harry having a thing for blondes.
Forbidden Things:
- Harry the Emo Doormat.
