Given what has already happened, I have already contacted a specialist, he'll be here in a bit. In the meantime, I would ask you to wait outside for a moment. I need to speak to our guests alone."

Ryou may not be able to receive telepathic communications, but the look that M'Att shot him spoke volumes... There was no way that M'Att was going to leave the guests alone with someone they just met, regardless of who or what they said.

Apparently being recent events had made him super wary...

"Um, with all due respect. No." He said. "You are not part of my collective, and I have no reason to trust you more than those we just faced. Again, with all due respect. Sir."

CJ was surprised by this comment, having missed Ryou's change in demeanor. But she went with it. "Um, yeah, I don't see what you need to talk to them about that we can't be here for. You don't have anything to hide do you?"

She gives a look around the room for unusual electronic devices.

He breathed out his nose heavily with some defeat. Seems M'Att was trying to drop some pretty big hints on how they should approach this. May as well. "I'll have to agree with them. We gave our word that we would do our best to protect them, and that definitely includes whenever someone we just met asks to speak in private."

Magic though, huh? Ryou wondered if he'd actually have any luck there at all with him.

Halsey rubs the bridge of his nose. " Before we can let you be privvy to nything else concerning our guests, we need to make sure that you are not in any way, shape or form magically bugged. And since our specialist needs some time to arrive..."

"Fair enough." she conceded. "That goes for you too and the room." she added. "Hey paranoia is a fine trait to cultivate in this day and age." she said as the others looked at her in surprise.

"Yes, if you need to check us for magic bugs, you need to check more than just us. You need to check our charges, this room, and yourself as well," CJ says. "Just because you weren't around when we had our previous troubles doesn't mean you or your offices aren't subject to surveillance. There's no safety in splitting up."

With everything that has happened, Helena was both suspicious and on high alert for skullduggery of any sort. As such, she was for once, paying close attention to their host and her friends for anything really.

Still leaning back in her corner, Anna glanced around the room and then banged her head against the wall behind her a few times. "As my father used to say, usually to me, 'Bozhe Moi'... So in two minutes, we've gone right back around the circle to worrying about magic bugs again," she muttered, waggling her fingers as she said 'magic'. "Even though all of us have already been scanned six ways from Saturday. Or rather almost all of us..." Behind her dark glasses, she might have been looking at Halsey, maybe, or maybe not.

"And the one person who hasn't been scanned, that none of us know, that might actually profit from interstellar not-peace, that wants us to hang around and wait for a so-called specialist." Now she was definitely looking at Halsey, with the surly arrogance of a teenage rebel. "So do we all want to hang around playing cards and waiting for the trap to close? Or do we try to find the weirdest food-cart in the city?"
